Grown man fails to intimidate baby snail.
Hungry Ghost’s health was on the decline for a few months, and his fins all but disappeared. I medicated him early on but nothing seemed to work, so I just focused on keeping him comfy. A few weeks ago, I was certain he was gonna kick the bucket, he didn't move or react and stayed listless in one place for a few days, before bouncing right back! And now he is putting weight back on and growing out his fins again.
phew, I need to do some HEAFTY gardening in here, it’s hard to tell where the moss ends and the algae begins, and the crypts are staging a coup...
BUT I think I have finally achieved a fully stocked tank, fish-wise!
we’ve got 6 neon dwarf rainbowfish (may add more later, maybe...) 20-some blue eyed rainbowfish, 8 cory catfish, 6 otocinclus and a billion cherry shrimps that just keep making more of themselves.
Despite the lack of plant maintenance, this is still a really fun, active tank to look at. The hardscape does a lot of heavy lifting, but rainbowfish + cory cats are just...a delightful combo imo.
Raising 38 spotted blue eyed rainbowfish babies in quarantine...for my 80 gal tank.
At the store, they were sharing a 10 gallon with a dwarf puffer fish lmao so I just kinda...bought them all (minus the puffer, he gets to stay there). They were all missing tasty, crunchy little fins, rip. Looks to all be growing back well though!
