Kaveh has a hard time balancing 'my s/o can handle themselves without me being around 24/7' and 'i must do everything for them'

You do get a laugh out of how caring he is sometimes, in a good way! Kaveh wants to make sure you're super comfortable. He's also happy to answer any questions you have. Sometimes, you need to know what something looks like- he's got your back.

He's there to help with anything! ANYTHING. He'll get you water, help you walk up the stairs, help ease you onto the bed or the couch.

He'll make sure anything he designs is super handicap friendly for both blindness and people who may have a hard time with moving around without assistance.

✧ Alhaitham ✧

Alhaitham is very composed when it comes to helping you or doing anything for you. He doesn't act like it's too much work, he doesn't make any weird remarks, he just treats you like a normal person. How you like it.

He's also very patient. If you don't want help with something and want to do it on your own, he'll wait there. Again, no remarks, just silence. Whether you accomplish it or not is when he'll speak up.

Alhaitham is always prepared. He makes sure you have your walking stick, if you have a guide dog, he'll make sure people don't try to pet em. He might as well be your guide human.

Your favorite part about him is how normally he treats you. Your disability isn't evident to him and he doesn't ever bring it up. Like it's not even there.

✧ Cyno ✧

If you're comfy with it, he makes blind jokes. But he keeps them rare and mild. They always make you laugh out loud. In fact, you've found yourself making them too.

Cyno is there for you if you need anything. One time, you ended up losing your guide dog who got spooked by something. Cyno helped sit you down and even found your lil pup for you.

He's very patient too. He understands that you can't see the world like he can. So he's not about to rush you.

He spends a lot of time describing things for you. Sometimes, you wanna know what something looks like. You can feel it- figure out the general shape but the color and stuff, you won't know that. So he takes every moment he can to describe things in heavy, heavy detail.

✧ Tighnari ✧

Tighnari needed a moment to adjust to your disability. He's not judgmental but sometimes he'll move too fast. He'll say things like "can you grab that thing over there?" when you haven't ever been in the room before.

He's pretty apologetic for those days and works hard to help you with your situation. If you need assistance somewhere, he's at your side, if you need help with doing something, he's there, if you need a guide human, Tighnari at your service.

Tighnari cannot STAND it when people make remarks. Why? Yeah, you can't see- they don't need to half-ass whisper it to their friends. He gets really pissed sometimes. It's not even about them offending you, it's just needing to learn to shut their mouths when it needs to be shut.

You've had to grab his arm and pull him back at times. He's not violent, but he does like to scold people. You don't wanna cause a scene, but you'll usually find yourself getting an apology or two.

despite being very in the Now, taz can be pretty reflective. i mentioned in the other ask that G.U.N. scorned her. taz likes to improve on things for the sake of improvement, but she can be very spiteful, and this spite is what motivated her to work as hard as she is on her current project. with G.U.N.'s status now uncertain, it's given her a lot to think about.

the only person who's seen this subtlety is vi, and only because they know how to read taz's idiosyncrasies.

🟢 Green- What is considered a weakness in your OC that is actually a strength? What is a strength in your character that can be twisted into a weakness?

a weakness... taz does not take care of herself, she kinda forgets to? she's hunched over all the time, her hair's a mess, she's got bags under her eyes, you wouldn't think she's really that capable at a first glance. this unassuming appearance is a strength, in the same way that colombo's disheveled appearance benefits him.

one of taz's greatest strengths would definitely be her tenacity; she just won't quit! HOWEVER, this does often lead to tunnel vision. the fact that she places the value of her work so high above everything else creates difficulty forming strong connections, making allies. after leaving G.U.N., she was only able to recruit a handful of her former coworkers to aid in her research. after the events of my story, the only person who continued to follow her was vi.

🔵 Blue- How would your OC spend a single day of interrupted peace? Where would they go or who would they be with?

truth be told, taz would just spend it working on whatever project she's dedicated herself to, that's her idea of a good time. in a rare scenario where she has nothing better to do, she'd probably spend the day flipping through research papers or browsing for scented candles. other than that, she's not really one for going out and doing anything, no keeping company.

vi used to try and convince her to go out and do something else, but has since learned to adjust their suggestions to be more in line with what she's focused on (ex. suggesting they go to the library to browse for old newspaper articles).

scented candles! any but the ones that smell like baked goods/cinnamon. taz keeps a collection of scented candles in her workspace for this reason; they help keep her cool and collected.

re: korekiyo shinguji

personally I prefer taking canon for what it is rather than trying to fix or rewrite stuff even if it's absolute ass. danganronpa will always be outlandish self-indulgent horror at its heart. so I will be taking korekiyo as his questionably written self. that being said here is some wild korekiyo speculation that i wrote instead of working on my dissertation

content warnings in the tags, but if you’re familiar with ndrv3 chapter 3 you probably know what’s coming lol

first up korekiyo is my favourite character in this game. every insane gnc man in fiction is my friend. this has nothing to do with the post i just wanted to say it

secondly i already knew about the sister shinguji reveal beforehand so i was kind of looking out for it but I can definitely see it catching a lot of people completely off guard lol. it's also extremely stupid. it's dumb as hell and I hate it. however it happened so let's talk about it

everything we learn about sister shinguji comes via kiyo, who has an extremely specific view of her both in his own mind and that he wants to project for the other ultimates. nonetheless it’s suggested that she was/is extremely controlling and abusive, which a lot of people seem to agree on.

it’s incredibly vague what the ‘sister shinguji’ who shows up in chaper 3′s trial actually is, and i don’t really want to get into it, but we have no reason not to believe that it’s a fairly accurate to what she was like in life, and fits with what we learn about her in kiyo’s FTEs. two things that stood out to me were:

a) isolating kiyo from his peers and b)

the fact that she specifically tells him this. it makes me wonder if the need to keep ‘their’ secret was something she frequently impressed on him in life. both of these are textbook methods of grooming. with regards to the nature of sister shinguji’s abuse, i don’t want to get into the weeds too much, but i think it’s extremely likely that kiyo is a (co)csa survivor.

as for why kiyo is so devoted to her... I'm a huge sucker for the archetype of 'abused character who still dearly loves their abuser' bc it will always ring painfully true to my real life experiences. people often love their abuser. especially if it's a close family member like w/ the shingujis. that is absolutely how korekiyo comes off to me.

I also wonder what the shinguji household was like to allow something like that to happen in the first place. kids don't abuse each other or grow that emotionally codependent without something making them act that way. i (this is not me excusing sister shinguji’s actions - it’s literally just how it works).

as for the serial killer reveal, i think it’s likely that kiyo already has a warped view of how social decency works due to um. all of the above. i honestly find this one the most egregiously dumb. anyway, i can’t find the screenshots, but when they’re discussing the killing game he mentions how the law is just a social construct or something - with how much of his personality is influenced by sister shinguji, it makes me wonder if that isn’t something she drilled into him as well. i think it’s ironic that kiyo is one of the characters who points out that angie started a cult when if you think of cult manipulation tactics as interpersonal abuse tactics on a larger scale. kiyo and his sister are a little two-person cult.

it’s very likely that he hasn’t contemplated that what happened to him was fucked up at all. i think this game’s treatment of ‘belief’ so far is really interesting- the suggestion is, to me, that kiyo’s delusion isn’t his belief in ghosts but his belief that he wasn’t abused.

i really don’t think the writers intended to make a point abt how we treat survivors who don’t fit the perfect victim archetype. nor do i think they intended to make much of a point aside from ‘lol wanna see something fucked up’. but i do think korekiyo makes an interesting addition to the roster. :)

Hi, I have always read your furuba reviews and I'm very curious about which are your favorite characters and why?

Thank you for reading my posts<3. I know I've been slow lately, but I'm not in a right emotional place right now, but I'll be back to posting soon. Actually talking abt furuba & story-telling here in tumblr is such a peaceful outlet that I'm thankful for.

While I love 97% of furuba characters, my faves kept changing while I watched the anime. I decided to have 5 top characters as faves & number one kept changing as the anime progressed.

Since I'm all abt story-telling, I think I need to separate the anime from the manga cuz no way in the anime that tohru would be on my top 5, heck not even top 10! I really don't like how her character was reduced to yuki's mommy-tohru, then angel-tohru, then villain-fixer tohru. The real individual tohru with her own personal story is just two eps long, so meh~. Also, while yuki is in my top 5 in the anime, I don't like how he's too perfect & prince in the anime while his own theme is the imperfect non-prince. Kyo's, too in my top 5 but I dont like how his own story is intentionally messed up by the anime with the stupid "I forgot" that contradicts the anime's own canon plot...

So, I'll tell you my top 5 fave character in the manga so fat with no particular order.

Tohru, while I'm yet to uncover her own plot in the manga, so far she has way more character exploration & depth!! She really feels like a different character from the anime! I'm shocked! The facial expressions, the occasional doubtful self-talk, even the "fake-smile"mask she puts is so expressive. She is treated as a character with a personal plot , regardless of being the protagonist. Her own plot is not reliant on being yuki's mommy, or the sohma's shrink, or a fixer. Her own plot line is abt grief & being lonely. It's the most common struggle that we all share regardless of our gender, race, financial status. Death is the ultimate fact & we'll face loosing a loved one & feeling lonely is not related to social skills nor being loved. I'll forever hate the anime for passing on such unique universal theme in favor of emphasizing the most popular shonen-themed coming of age story ( a boy becoming a man) "yuki" or the over-exaggerated drama in "kyo's". Like I dont want them to pass any of the 3 characters plotlines, but the anime made a choice & forever cemented anime tohru as the most "fixer"character in anime history like 98765678 of other female protagonists.

Yuki has way more character & realness in the manga. He doesnt come off as narrator-y as he does in the anime simply cuz the anime only chose the parts where yuki narrates as a voice-over & told us how to feel & dropped all the parts where he's interacting & actually talking to other characters not just the audience. His own personal story is abt "observing, learning & having the guts to make a move & embracing his own imperfection". I love this! Anime yuki is not imperfect. no. he's the icon of perfect prince, he even initiates a set of fanclub girls into the world that they float! He's so perfect, he "heals" a girl simply by talking to her once. That's all it takes him to fall in love & find his soulmate. While in the manga, I'm starting to see yuki display signs of "kind jerk" in the making, that's refreshing!

I admit that I didn't include kyo into my top 5 until se02. Don't get me wrong, he's so endearing since ep1, but didnt seem to be complex nor refreshing as the others. but se02, ep 9 was the first glimpse into his own character depth & I got hooked! I'm so in love with the theme of "repeated mistakes & guilt". it's such a mature theme & speaks to a much wider audience. The more we repeat the same mistakes, the more we self-sabotage our lives. Also, I love the love isn't a magic healing element in his story. He's the most loved character by tohru, yet her love only hurt him more due to his guilt. Moreover, the romantic element itself wasnt a cliche "love at 1st sight, nor lovers since childhood, nor girl fixes a guy, nor guy protects the girl from danger". Not at all. It was "love blooming subtly, little by little by mundane daily life". I cant express how much I applaud Takaya-san for such complex writing. In the anime, kyo only comes when it's his ep, other than that, he's absent or characterless. I hated that. So far in the manga, kyo has an existence even in other plotlines & has different aspects of his character. Also, I'm shocked at how much inner dialogue he has! like no too much that it involves other character nor too little that you dont understand him. It's just the right amount.

Momiji. He's the most balanced character. He isnt fixed by tohru, but isnt perfectly fine either. He's the definition of the right amount of kindness. He doesn sell himself to make other happy like tohru or kureno, nor puts himself in danger to save others like haru. He does help others but also helps himself. He helped his mom forget him cuz honestly that wasnt even his choice. it's the dad's. He participated willingly tho in avoiding her, but he didnt dwell in self pity & locked himself emotionally. He let go of loving tohru & encouraged kyo, but while he genuinely loved kyo, he didnt just back off cuz he's kind & a sacrificial angel. He stood like a man & challenged kyo for tohru's heart, but let go when he realized the choice is tohru's. not them. They can love her aromatically, but she's the one who decides who to be with. I love the theme of "not competing for love". it's not a competition really. never was. Still, as love sick & heart-broken as he was, momiji didnt dwell in self-pity & after allowing himself to heal, he bounced back & smiled. Momiji is no foolish traveler.

The spot is reserved to a certain character that I want the manga to prove their worth. I dont want them to be as shallow as the anime made them to be. I want to see depth. I dont know if the manga writes them better, but once I finish the manga, I'll know.

I wanted to add shigure but no. Despite all the complexity & the unique roles he has & despite how much I love characters with big giant flaws & ugly characteristics, shigre fell from my top 5 long ago. Look, this seems petty but I can't get over the fact that he slept with akito's mom. ewwwww. It makes me wanna puke! so disgusting. yuck yuck yuck! I dont mind that he "cheated"or wanted to "hurt akito by sleeping with ANOTHER woman". As a matter of fact, such acts create drama, ugly feelings & emotional struggle. I love such things in fiction. but he did it with the mother. He actually laid with both mom & daughter in his life. ewwwwww! This level of eww is so revolting to me! Some ppl are disgusted by bugs & worms that they want to puke, me.. when ppl sleep with both parent/off spring, or both siblings. Yuck! & it's even more yuck that it didnt stop their "love" from being real/ happy/ perfect/ passionate! & that it worked in making akito "want him more & be a "woman" for him"... ew!

ok!!! Basically there are 2 plots that converge, a silly lil camp in the woods and a fae love story! Let’s go under the cut for this cus I’m gonna be explaining them for a hot minute lol

I’m gonna make a breakdown of all the individual characters in a minute but for now here’s a chart I just finished so u know whos where in all this

(Eros not on here but he’s a forest folk) So I’ll give u an expo on both of the plots (feel free to come ask questions as ur reading or after ur done, I would Love to talk abt this au as much as possible)

The fae side: Eliana here’s from two of her townsfolk (the twins) that there are fae in the woods. All her fellow townspeople say they’re just being pranksters again (the amount of times they’ve tried to convince the town there’s totally a werewolf just outside of town is too many for them to be a trustworthy source- and as aspiring nightwalker hunters of course they’re trying to spot fae in every leaf and under every rock), but Eliana, curious, decides to sneak off one night to investigate. After all if there’s a fae out there, it’s her responsibility to ward it off from her town! what she finds though is not a silly lie from the twins or a terrifying manipulative monster- in A flower patch she sees her, the most beautiful charming looking fairy she’s every seen, all alone weaving a flower crown in the woods. He spots her, and although she’s scared at first and wards them with her axe, she can’t bear to attack him. they hit it off really quickly, and Shirley shows her the beauty of the hidden parts of the forest, lit up by the magic of the moon, as opposed to the normal sunlit forest Eliana is used to. She returns home at dawn with promises to come back the next day. Meanwhile Shirley goes home to his ghost husband like ‘omg I just met the prettiest lady evr, she’s coming back tomorrow can we keep her’ and Thomas is like ‘bro we already have jr‘ and Shirley is like ‘no but I want to kiss her 🥺 and hold hands 🥺🥺🥺 and trap her in the fae lands forever with me 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺’ and Thomas is obviously slightly jealous but he’s like ‘yeah whatever’ bcus he knows if Shirley does try and make out with some daywalker he’s prolly gonna kill her by accident anyways jdgfufndkc. so Eliana starts going out every night with the excuse that she’s choppin down wood, (ninas suspicious of this excuse but Michael tells her eliana wouldn’t lie,) and Shirley keeps trying to get her to stay forever and eat all their food and introduces her to Thomas and jr and stuff, and it’s nice and all but shirleys making her stay for longer and longer, and he can’t handle letting her go for even a second. Eliana doesn’t mind tho, she’s totally blind with love, and eventually she’s tells the town abt Shirley but that he’s totally not like other fae and definitely cool and there’s mixed feelings, some ‘awwww Eliana finally found a girlfriend, so sweet 🥰’s and some ‘they’re not different ur just being manipulated, we should go kill him’s and even some ‘huh, wasn’t that the name of the guy Harley was crying abt not being able to remember, lol crazy coincidence, Emerson let’s go bully harley’s.

yeah but Shirley has fucking crazy attachment issues and horrible death magic, so eventually one morning he does get REALLY upset abt his girlfriend leaving, like the whole tree (Thomas and Shirley live in a treehouse) is dying around him and Thomas is holding jr begging him to calm down, and Elianas finally like ‘hmm. Maybe this was a bad idea’ and that’s about where we are rn with that whole thing.

CAMP TIME: so as shown from chart above, there’s some ppl living in a lil forest camp together :) emi and graci moved there because they wanna learn how to hunt nightwalkers >:) there was a reason for it a couple years ago but they kind of forgot what it was (cough Shirley disappearing cough) but they’re still dead set on it! And lucky dink, as they’re moving to camp big Harley comes home to visit his brothers and ends up joining the camp for a bit since all 3 of his brothers are there! Camp Side of the story doesn’t have a ton of plot, mostly Harley low key having a crisis abt how busy his life at his actual home is and how everything feels so horribly off here even though hypothetically things haven’t changed much since he left and the twins fucking around and causing trouble around camp. Hallow thinks it’s funny that the stupid kids wanna hunt night walkers cus he is one, so he gives them the tip that theres a vampire in camp and they become dead set on it being Jane. All the kids like playing with Ben like he’s a whole ass jungle gym, he thinks it’s cute. kibi gets dragged around by emi and graci while they try to find the werewoof at the edge of town (sadly they only find Andy, darn, but he plays them some songs so not a total waste. also yes Andy is obviously the werewolf the twins are just stupid GDSHDSJD.) charlotte sits around crying and the other kids and counselors like to play a game where they all take turns trying to make her laugh (the first time the twins came to camp Emerson made her giggle, belle and Ben were so happy they were just sitting there sobbing bcus their girl finally smiled again, so Charlie quietly suggested they make it a new daily game because he hadn’t seen Ben and belle that hopeful in years :,) ). jr and Maria go around biting peoples ankles and collecting sticks. After hearing emi and graci talk abt town, Jane decided she wants to go visit town, Danny‘s super hesitant but the other 3 camp counselors all agree that since she’s 16 now she’s definitely old enough to go where she wants. While shes there she goes to a festival and meets Andy (17) and it’s nice :) also hallow has ero Boyf who visits sometimes and Danny’s got husb Sébastien who he and Jane visit a lot.

ya that’s pretty much all the plot stuff for now! there’s some more backstory stuff abt thomas dying with Charlotte watching and Shirley going missing and what not but yea that’s pretty much it :D

Favourite character: Canas! I know I don't neccessarily need to say why but I'll limit it to two points:

1. an intellectual

i like my faves smart ok. and he's smart and awkward and fascinated by the world. i just think someone who is curious of everything would make such a great partner, you know? endless adventure and conversations.

2. kind

i love soft and kind characters hes so nice like?? he cries when nino wants to be friends and learn how to read??? and i have a lot of feelings abt how his previous 3 brothers perished to the darkness but he's still persuing it. like he knows that it will end him but continues that path. his mom also sucks tbh but he turned out so nice and not snarky or mean?? anyways juxaposition of darkness with funky kind scholar hehe

on a tangent, but Artur from Sacred Stones was my first FE fave. he is also a kind boy. he reminds me of your (our?) smtiv blorbo, Jonathan

Favourite lord: ELIWOOD MY BELOVED. he is kind. he isn't the strongest but he is so kind and sensitive. and also a little awkward. he just makes sense, and compared to a lot of the lords i think he is the most level-headed tbh. Realistically I'd be friends with him. What titles have I played? FE4/5/6/7/8 and Three houses! I emulated a lot of the games. I also play heroes on and off (depends on what characters are being released). Now that I have a 3ds I'm hoping i can play the 3ds era games (especially awakening!) I think my favourite probably would be FE6 tbh, it's adequately hard but it doesn't have all that thracia bs. I also really like thracia but man. there is so much you miss if you don't follow a guide. (Edited this part bc lol I did not make sense)

naya & dianna were electric together; i could go down a nostalgic rabbit hole all abt that but i’ll save us both the time and sanity LOL.

re: anger, will def wait until u publish ur thoughts to pinpoint mine more, but i’ll start w how i headcanon a future QS relationship (that could also work platonically!): i’m with the idea that both of their tempers mellow out over time while still they still maintain that no-nonsense, call-it-like-it-is mentality they reserve just for each other. when they’re past the point in their lives of needing to one-up each other, it’s less of serious fights like 2x01 and 4x08 and more harmless bickering.

when they do get into fights, i think they’re still guilty of throwing in some low blows in the heat of the moment, but they both know when to call it and just give each other space to cool down before trying to resolve anything. they both learn that not everything needs to be fixed right away; they just need time to gather their thoughts and firmly explain where they’re coming from, and they move on together.

i’ve already rambled, but again i’ll wait till you share some thoughts to go even deeper into it hahaha.

in the meantime, here’s a question for ya: if you could add in a QS heart-to-heart scene anywhere in the series, where would it be/what would it look like? (i.e. after Q gets kicked out of her house, after S gets outed, after the I Do hookup, etc)

Hey Quinntana anon! Sorry this sat in the inbox for a while.

Any time you want to go on about Naya and Dianna please feel free to do so lol. I rewatched New York today and the UHT scene's intensity from both of them was so good, and then transitioning into that soft understanding. I especially liked Santana telling her to get over it because she would, and then Quinn screaming at her.

Adult Quinntana having quite bickering fights is so amusing to me lol. That's why they're so great because it's like, a different wavelength to everyone else. Brittany gets it but doesn't engage because she knows it's best not to. She just leaves them be like when you check the kids into a playhouse while shopping or something.

I for sure agree that low blows are still resent even as they grow and mature. Because that's just the kind of connection they have, you know? They can come back from anything. So yeah they do get carried away sometimes but I think they're also well aware of the hard lines. So it's calling each other out and dragging just a little outside the comfort zone but it isn't malicious. I think they're already good at just bouncing back as teens but maybe as adults they'd learn to actually talk about these things afterward.

All of what you said for an extra Quinntana scene are good options. I think it would have been most realistic and is most sorely lacking at any point after I Do. It's still bonkers to me that they never again share a meaningful scene. As much as I would love one either in season 1 after Quinn gets kicked out or season 3 after The Outing, the former simply didn't have Santana as a substantial character so it'd need other rewrites. The latter, it was an overall shitshow so again more rewrites would be needed. But I would have loved a Quinntana scene post-outing that could maybe be both about Q reassuring Santana and in return Santana once again attempting to talk to Quinn about what's been going on with her. They deal with a lot in a few short episodes. And hey, their lowest points might just open up their hearts to a good convo.

All that said, I'd most likely choose one for 2x15 Sexy. Season 2's Quinntana crumbs are great but they're just that, crumbs, so in my headcanon there's a Quinntana scene following Santana's love confession and subsequent heartbreak. She sees Santana storm off and finds her under the bleachers. Santana tells her to piss off at first but then just, breaks down, too tired to try and hold it together. And despite their ongoing rivalry that season, despite Cheerios and Sam everything, Quinn just holds her because they know when it's time for tough love and when it's time for just plain love. Then again I guess in my mind this isn't so much a heart-to-heart, just this wordless scene of comfort followed by Quinn trying to get her to talk about it but Santana shuts it all out and pretends it never happened. She's going into denial, see, and there's only so much Quinn can do about that. She's disappointed, to say the least, when Santana announces she's dating Karofsky a few weeks later. But as always, Quinn has her own shit going on.

The thing is, I started out with maybe 3 ships? But then the manga had the AUDACITY to be like "sorry you can't have romantic relationships fr in heroes :(" and I made a couple more out of spite because like. C'mon. They literally get married in the s support. Anyway I'll start off with the ogs and maybe a few more but know that once I made that choice I couldn't turn that part of my brain off so there are a lot.

I think the first was Loki and Seteth. Which might seem weird but,, hear me out. Seteth is all about order. Loki is a literal trickster goddess. I imagine her like, constantly bugging him and trying to get his skin and she does, but also he gets used to it? And it gets kind of weird when he doesn't see her for a while? There's also the fact that, in her own mischevious way, Loki has a soft spot for kids. Since they're both healers imagine her helping out Flayn and Flayn thinking she's fun and cool then Seteth sees them hanging out and nearly has a heart attack lol. Oh! Spoilers for 3 houses but another big appeal for this ship is that compared to some other characters, Seteth's life span is probably closer to Loki's lol. This one is hard for me to explain but I feel it in my soul

Next up was Helbindi and Eir. So I think what originally happened was me thinking Helbindi questions Eir about how death works since y'know, he should have died, (but also he's low key asking to try and gauge whether his sister could be brought back as well). But somewhere along the line I started thinking. Helbindi's whole thing is trying super hard to seem tough (and he is! to be fair), but deep down he's a softie. I think Eir would end up seeing right through him, not through like some super strong intuition but more of, what's he gonna do, kill her? Lol been there done that. And once he realizes he can't spook her off they just kind of vibe, and then they get to talking about the awful stuff they had to do under their awful ruler's orders. And they bond over not really feeling like they belong. Then suddenly Helbindi realizes he's feeling,, soft? around her? And Eir notices she feels happier? maybe even just happy in general? tbh it probably takes them a while to put the pieces together but that's what it's all about sometimes.

Next we have Laegjarn and Triandra. One day I made the connection that these two both made big sacrifices for their younger sisters and it wouldn't leave me alone. And then I looked at Triandra's lvl 40 conversation where she said more than anything she just wanted someone to understand. And I think Laegjarn would understand very well. But! Not only would she understand, she could give a new perspective. Because in that same convo, Triandra feels like the love she had for her sister wasn't enough, that in the end she was too weak to fully protect her. In Laegjarn's she talks about how her love for her sister was what made her strong and kept her going.I have this very specific image in my mind for this one of like. Laegjarn having a dream and being in that world, by a body of water, and she leans down to drink and she sees Triandra. And since Triandra is a fairy of nightmares of course things start to go wrong. This keeps happening until Laegjarn notices a pattern and confronts her... only to wake up. And that's when Triandra gets summoned. And then things happen from there.

Those are the ones that are the most in depth but there are lots of others.

Reginn and Kliff. So Kliff likes to learn, and he likes magic, right? Reginn operates a magical metal... horse thing. I think it could be a good conversation starter and after that I can just see them bouncing off each other well

Takumi and Shanna. Yes this is because of that gauntlet. Can you imagine them bumping into each other occasionally, then that gauntlet happens, right. And Shanna reaches out a hand to him from his spot on the ground and she's smiling and she says "Hey, good match!" and the sun behind her forms like a halo behind her and Takumi's like "Oh shit,," and then later on maybe, during that possessed gauntlet, she's there by her side and look. They'd be cute okay? Trust me

Summer Mercedes and Summer Rhys. SPEAKING OF CUTE oh my god this is so soft,,, like they're both such kind people who try their best to help others. And they would not make an exception for each other! You know on those days Rhys is feeling particularly weak under the sun Mercie is there with that drink weapon lmao and he's her biggest cheerleader when it comes to the whole breaking away from that arranged marriage or w/e her adopted dad was trying to get her to do. Mans is like "Go out there and live your dreams!" They both just look after each other and it makes me happy

some genius pt Musings i’ve been having this time around

1) the question of “is mytho’s hair white just from unknown decades of Time Passage within the paused story, like, his hair pigmentation Aged but nothing else lol” or “That, but his hair is white from the stress” (it’s that one lol. plus fr why would only his hair change due to Time) but i wanna introduce a Third Element: i think we can suppose in-the-story tutu’s appearance / disappearance happens just before or v shortly before the interrupted non-ending of prinz und rabe, and it sure seems like some or all or some Version of tutu’s Essence & part of the prince’s heart are like, truly Merged, and what if it’s that the prince got white hair from That b/c it was more swan-esque. a la the white feathery part of ahiru-tutu’s (& that one design of seemingly-prinz-und-rabe tutu)’s hair

2) again w/the matter of how at least part of Original Tutu seems to exist on in the prince’s physical heart: there’s the brief mention that fakir and mytho dance b/c Mytho Likes To Dance, which like, would be one of those Traits that transcends his emotions, like how he protects everything (so does tutu? emotionally? while the prince protects everyone physically (against a Metaphor for Despair so is that not also, in a way, emotionally too) like thank you power couple) but there’s also the brief mention that tutu is a Spirit Of Dance maybe so it’s like, again, did tutu becoming part of mytho pass something along in that way which imbues him with that proclivity to dance (although you’ve also got neko-sensei saying his dancing was not that Emotional earlier, which makes sense, but also seems like tutu protecting Feelings happens via dance. by “seems” i mean “this is a key aspect of literally every part of this series” s/o to me) or on another note: maybe drosselmeyer just wrote prinz und rabe For Adaptation lmfao. he was like “fuck yes they’re gonna make this into a ballet.” what with this series’ implication that like....the nutcracker is one of his stories where he just so happens to have a full self-insert who textually uses that power to make stories become reality. and that sure is a ballet. and from looking it up just now i’m learning that it was Based on a preexisting story, and, reading the wikipedia summary, i’m also remembering i’ve read an adapted-into-another-book version of this story, and it sure has another layer of “story interwoven with / becoming Reality” to it. anyways my point is i suppose, Watsonianly Speaking, prinz und rabe involving Ballet could’ve been Written Into It throughout all the characters, or maybe it’s just tutu who dances, which then becomes part of mytho’s character when her sacrifice like, bonds (part of? all? whomst can say) her to his heart. bless. doylean reason is this is a series about ballet and stuff

3) Another Briefly Mentioned thing when mytho talks about how he apparently could just naturally draw birds to him. and ahiru having that happen in the first episode/s is like, could be b/c she’s a bird or could be because she has part of the prince’s heart, as is emphasized like, immediately during the Bird Visit in ep 1. so i just had the thought like, a duck who cares about mytho gets to become tutu, but what if it was any other bird, surely it Could be. that fledgling canary he’s saving in episode 1 gets to become tutu mid-fall

4) i had some other Thought and i’ve forgotten it. well in the meantime thinking about how everyone dunks on Prinz Und Rabe Textual Lohengrin as the useless loser failure knight lmaooo but then like, that was just re: the One mentioned fatal raven encounter & also specifically about that lohengrin can’t protect the prince with his sword. but like, sure Behearted Mytho can probably exercise a little more discretion in risking his life to save whatever needs protecting, vs unsupervised heartless mytho diving out of windows, but can we really suppose he was That much more careful about staying safe vs impulsively throwing himself into a situation to save something at all costs. how much work did lohengrin do simply making sure the prince didn’t die in that sort of way. thank you lohengrin

5) oh right. i was thinking about Magic i think. s/o to the person who had the idea that when tutu sacrificed herself and turned into Light she might’ve merged with Good Magic in the story’s world, which the prince also had access to, and that’s how she kind of literally becomes part of him / they share powers / they share their Swan / Dance visual themes & stuff. & i was sure at one point wondering about the Forbidden But Granted Only To The Prince (own...?)-heart-shattering ability, like, maybe at some point an implicitly more specific verb was used like “taught,” or did the prince simply just Have the power by virtue of being the prince, or did it like, come from tutu who has the tie to the prince & Loved him & has those abilities to protect people’s Feelings, although maybe that’s just like, a choice and not inherently part of the magic lol. and then the Real World Magic we see is just like, inherited. but wait then there’s that bridge & ghosts & stuff, although there’s Stories about those too apparently. nvm this one’s really vague i’m just wondering if the Prince alone has that heartshattering Magic Technique through tutu or what. could be anything

6) but no really i think i had some other Thought, i’m sure it was great & ig i’ll reblog if it reoccurs to me, but i got distracted down another mental track so, you know, rip. in the meantime just thinking like, i have no imagination but was trying to muse on some sort of big Attack power the prince could have, b/c the classic thing to happen in the story (whether mentioned in its text or not) is for mytho to go ham with some such Power Surge [Magic Thing] to drive the raven away after lohengrin gets Got. even after he gets his full prince Abilities back he mostly only seems to Attack with his sword. damn wait a second and when he just like crashes Into the raven the big Swan Made Of Light appears first like hang on like is that Him? was it part of his Transport, can he like, Also turn into a swan of light or is it just how he Appears, was it tutu’s Hope Manifestation again since he’s being That to rue in that moment, oh my god. a lot to consider. anyways, but then the thing is, some sort of like Energy Blast move would go outside the realm of [fighting with the sword alone] and the prince’s Magic mostly seeming to be like, a mobility Boost, and how everything abt the prince is centered around Defense and Protection rather than going on the offensive. but then, who’s to say the Heart Shattering technique couldn’t be used as an Attack but was used by the prince only as a self-sacrificial protective thing, and who’s to say the prince Doesn’t have other powerful Attacks to draw from but refrains from using them if there’s others around to be hurt or whatever. i’m just trying to think of how the prince could just really go tf off and Immediately get the raven to fuck off after lohengrin is ko’d because that’s appropriately Tragically Dramatic & Emotion-Fueled Magic, not to mention the best case scenario vs still having to continue like 23 hours of battle when your boyfriend Just died. i mean like boom Light Blasts type situation i guess. or maybe he could just land a really good sword hit like Right Away. thinking about it. anyways

7) oh wait shit lmfao idk if this was The other thought but it was Another thought. that everyone in The Story (Within Reality) is like, locked in The Town (although they can leave if they’re not a Character / if they entered from outside? presumably) but in episode one this all kicks off b/c mytho was at The Lake which is Outside the town, right? i’m pretty sure. which like, is that something he Can and has been able to Do.....is this a. a liminal space. or did/does drosselmeyer like drop him over there sometimes For Some Reason, like having “stages” available around here, a la the s1 finale.....like, didn’t seem like he Knew if he put mytho in front of waterfowl that one would become devoted to restoring mytho’s heart. probably Does Not Matter, Actually, but it sure happened and much to Think about there. shoutout to mytho dancing en pointe whenever it’s magical and he can do so, e.g. when dancing naked on the surface of a liminal lake, or midair with tutu. iconic
