hello there! i'm really enjoying both of your fics and can't wait to read the next chapter of weave and woods!
would you be able to recommend any other bg3 fics that you enjoy? maybe a couple that aren't popular/have many hits/are unique?
thanks! <3
oh my gosh, thank you so much my sweet sweet anon! (I am giving you a little smooch on your forehead). I am glad you're enjoying Weave and Woods! I had a very busy June, but I am planning on updating both Weave and Woods and The Bard and the Blade more regularly - once every 2 weeks at most, alternating (that's the plan anyway!)
And OH BOY can I recommend bg3 fanfic! Here are just a few of my current favorites with unique ideas/less hits:
Let Me Recite Their Demise by BestSandwichEver Gale Dekarios, hero of Faerun and god of ambition, winds up in a decidedly mortal form at Withers’ big reunion party. Astarion, resplendent in his Ascended Vampire form, is as vicious and jealous as his predecessor was, leaving his consort Calliope helpless and alone. Calliope and Gale find themselves forced to patch up the wounds left by Gale’s betrayal in order to solve both their problems, but will either of them live to see the final victory? This one just finished today and I am weepy about it. I loved this fic so much. An interesting take on Ascended Astarion, but the relationship between Calliope and Gale is chefs kiss. I don't know if the author has a Tumblr, or I would link it!
Broken Horizons by CheerySmores What would happen if the orb detonated post game? This is a pretty new fanfic but I love the premise and the main character, Ciri. The writing is beautiful and I can't wait to see how everything gets resolved - and I hope it does! (You can follow the author here @ponder-the-orb)
The Stars of Simril by Jourdane A one-shot, but one of the most beautiful pieces of writing I've ever read. I recommend reading everything but this author, her writing style is so poetic and lovely. (And if you don't already, follow her @sorceresssundries)
In Fathoms Below by @mumms-the-word A Disney's Atlantis-inspired AU. So creative and engaging. I love seeing the blend of the two properties - it works so well!
Pure Magic by purpleastersinseptember I'm not usually big on modern AUs, but this one really works for me. I also like that there are two Tavs who are twins, and both are really likable. This is a newer fic as well. (The author is also on Tumblr @purpleasters-inseptember)
Thorns and All by tavelspeth The story of Elspeth and Gale through the in game events. I love seeing how everyone takes the same game beats and makes them their own. This is a brand new fic so it has less hits, but I'd love it to see more traction. I love the author's Tav, Elspeth, who is arguably one of the hottest Tavs in existence. (You can also follow her here, her Tumblr is @elspethdekarios)
I could go on and on and on, but I am also realizing that all the fic I read is pretty much Gale x Tav. I recommend following @stories-from-the-sword-coast for other recommendations! I've seen fics from many of the characters posted already.

the Rolan brainrot's hit me HARD; i did not expect to lowkey fall for an NPC when i started playing BG3 but here i am - making a Tav for a hypothetical Rolan romance 😔 and it didn't help that i absolutely love your Rolan fics HAHA (i can't stop rereading them 🐊)
anyways, the brainrot today has me thinking of being on the receiving side of being teased 😶‍🌫️ usually, it's Rolan doing work and Tav being the tease, but i believe that he has his moments too >:)
-
it's a time when he's actually finished earlier and all he can think about is snuggling next to his lover. however, he notices that Tav's not done with whatever it is they're writing and he sees the opportunity of some overdue payback.
he places a hand on their shoulder and leans over, lips slightly brushing against their ear and asking them a question that he knows doesn't fully register in their head. when he receives a distracted hum for a reply, he starts placing kisses on their neck.
if Tav notices his ministrations, they don't outwardly show it. but Rolan is nothing if not stubborn - he wants his lover to get a taste of their own medicine. so, his hand starts caressing the length of their swordarm, the nail of his thumb slightly grazing skin. he wraps his tail around their upper thigh and the tip slightly grinds against them. a soft bite on the neck and a hand grasping firmly on Tav's wrist is what it takes for Tav to stop writing. when he hears them sigh out his name, he immediately steps back and makes a leave for the bedroom.
he knows he wins when he hears the chair scrape against the floor.
I totally didn’t either, anon! My pipeline to Rolan obsession went like: spend 1 week in love with Astarion on full game release > spend 1 week besotted with Gale > finally play through Rolan’s full arc, and fall head over heels with him for the past...9 months with absolutely no end in sight.
There’s something dangerously addictive about Rolan’s character in particular 😩 It’s good to know we’re not alone in the madness, eh!
Love this scenario of yours 💓 I really really believe that Rolan does have a mischievous, playful side of him that would totally lead him to act like this with his significant other. I always felt the first real taste of it directed toward the player is that classic don’t be greedy~
I’ve always wondered if that little interaction is a glimpse of how Rolan acts when he’s really comfortable/around people he loves. Like the way he acts at the tiefling party in Act 1, trading little quips with his siblings. So fun to imagine him being playful like that with Tav…and maybe being a downright menace with it like you imagined here 😉 So unfair that Larian gave us these little in-game morsels of him being flirty and saucy and didn’t let us smooch his stupid face

Long post request: how do you feel about BG3?
I didn't realize a new patch came out on final fantasy for about a week because Baldur Gate o Baldur Gate
currently in act 3 and trying to stock up on shit since I recently cleared out the bank. I'm TRYING to hold myself to not starting a new character until I finish this one but I see so many monk items and i want themmmmm (I have a half elf monk open in character creator right now)
Since I played a lotttt of dragon age origins, parts of the structure of bg3 felt very familiar to me like the camp itself and like how u interact with the companions. Like coming home in a way.
I'm also playing 5e a lot so that part of the structure of it was very easy to adapt to. I do still have trouble with like certain interface things like oh man gotta select the version of the spells BEFORE TARGETTING NO GALE WHY ARE YOU RUNNING TO THEM GET BACK HERE WHY ARE YOU HITTING THEM WITH YOUR 8 STRENGTH BACKED STICK
But its great and I do like the changes made to better facilitate it being a VIDEO GAME. Like I'm a Divination Wizard. My main Thing is portent dice. (There's also detect thoughtsing my way through all social encounters which is SO GREAT honestly scratches an itch I've always wanted to do but it would be such a pain in the ass for tabletop. Like first first ever dnd character I cooked up was an illiterate mind reading sorcerer that like got by through just that. But that would be so annoying to do with like.... PEOPLE AT THE TABLE of like 'so im just constantly getting ur surface thoughts...... i can't entirely control this... i'm sorry....' )
ANYWAY portent dice!!!!! in bg3 they have it at level 6 you fulfill little prophecies to get ur dice back to make the big boss miss their BIG attack or make SURE you hit (or my favorite, make the rogue crit on a sneak attack) instead of having it that when u cast a divination spell u get a spell slot back. since theres so few divination spells especially like using IN COMBAT so I understand the change.
I also like the variety of shit you can do. like my partner is one to summon 9 creatures btw the whole party so theres a small army of creatures following their main party. (also several buffed with mage armor and everyone has a higher level aid cast on them so they also have a decent amount of health its really funni to watch) I like wrote off the summon guys moves because I just dont like to have extra guys usually.
Something I wish I did on my first playthrough tho was simply long resting more I think I fucked myself out of a lot of social link scenes in act 1 bc I straight up didn't rest enough. The game is like 'oh no time is ticking' but things aren't REALLY like that (cept for like... 2 instances I can think of) bc its a videogame and thats fine.
It WANTS you to use all your abilities and not be dum like me and just cantrip my way through most the first act 'just in case i need my slots later' why am i like this. both short and lone rest more and just use all your moves its FINE
speaking of social links and companions theyre all great. I love them all. I DO wish some things weren't like... romance locked it feels??? well more like you HAVE to reject them???? idk I had a scene with gale when he's like 'but we're not THAT close tho' and i felt bad bc like... I want to be wizard friends with you. I'm SORRY I'm so weak to both vampires and elves.
heard some shit about astarion having like so much content compared to all the other companions and man imma feel so spoiled on my playthroughs where i dont smooch the vampire. I do wish everyone else had more scenes too its a shame.
something about bg3 thats HILARIOUS to me personally is that its all like 'recruit allies against the cult' and in another irl campaign im in thats been in hiatus for years but I still hope to come back its REALLY similiar. Oh no a huge looming death cult threat to the city. oh no the city has its own fuckmess of bullshit to deal with. OH NO a shapeshifting killer. Anytime theres strong parallels to that campaign it sparks joy.
A few technical problems I've had tho were around switching characters in and out of the party. like in a building and I wanna run back to camp to tag in someone. Wait why are they on the roof????
Or I tag in someone and WHY ARE YOU CLIPPING THROUGH THE FLOOR? Tbh the game is so enjoyable I just sigh and say "Video. Game." out loud and load a save. Like the last time that was REALLY frustrating is when it just would NOT let me out of a restricted area like please I persuaded u 3 times let me go I was on my way OUT.
Also why do all these 8 strength men have abs. This is Wrong. I'm bad with figuring out the technical shit of modding but holy shit I need them to not have abs.
Anyway I had this and the character creator open for like 2 hours now so Imma start that now.

MOTHER-IN-LAW
November 4, 1949
Tumblr media
“Mother-In-Law” (aka “George’s Mother Visits”) is episode #60 of the radio series MY FAVORITE HUSBAND broadcast on November 4, 1949.
Synopsis ~ George gets a letter from his mother that she’s moving to Sheridan Falls. Liz has no doubt that means staying with them!  But when will she ever leave?
This was the tenth episode of the second season of MY FAVORITE HUSBAND. There were 43 new episodes, with the season ending on June 25, 1950.
Tumblr media
Although similarly titled, this radio episode is not the basis for the “I Love Lucy” episode “Lucy’s Mother-in-Law” (ILL S4;E8) in 1954.
Tumblr media
“My Favorite Husband” was based on the novels Mr. and Mrs. Cugat, the Record of a Happy Marriage (1940) and Outside Eden (1945) by Isabel Scott Rorick, which had previously been adapted into the film Are Husbands Necessary? (1942). “My Favorite Husband” was first broadcast as a one-time special on July 5, 1948. Lucille Ball and Lee Bowman played the characters of Liz and George Cugat, and a positive response to this broadcast convinced CBS to launch “My Favorite Husband” as a series. Bowman was not available Richard Denning was cast as George. On January 7, 1949, confusion with bandleader Xavier Cugat prompted a name change to Cooper. On this same episode Jell-O became its sponsor. A total of 124 episodes of the program aired from July 23, 1948 through March 31, 1951. After about ten episodes had been written, writers Fox and Davenport departed and three new writers took over – Bob Carroll, Jr., Madelyn Pugh, and head writer/producer Jess Oppenheimer. In March 1949 Gale Gordon took over the existing role of George’s boss, Rudolph Atterbury, and Bea Benaderet was added as his wife, Iris. CBS brought “My Favorite Husband” to television in 1953, starring Joan Caulfield and Barry Nelson as Liz and George Cooper. The television version ran two-and-a-half seasons, from September 1953 through December 1955, running concurrently with “I Love Lucy.” It was produced live at CBS Television City for most of its run, until switching to film for a truncated third season filmed (ironically) at Desilu and recasting Liz Cooper with Vanessa Brown.
MAIN CAST
Tumblr media
Lucille Ball (Liz Cooper) was born on August 6, 1911 in Jamestown, New York. She began her screen career in 1933 and was known in Hollywood as ‘Queen of the B’s’ due to her many appearances in ‘B’ movies. With Richard Denning, she starred in a radio program titled “My Favorite Husband” which eventually led to the creation of “I Love Lucy,” a television situation comedy in which she co-starred with her real-life husband, Latin bandleader Desi Arnaz. The program was phenomenally successful, allowing the couple to purchase what was once RKO Studios, re-naming it Desilu. When the show ended in 1960 (in an hour-long format known as “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour”) so did Lucy and Desi’s marriage. In 1962, hoping to keep Desilu financially solvent, Lucy returned to the sitcom format with “The Lucy Show,” which lasted six seasons. She followed that with a similar sitcom “Here’s Lucy” co-starring with her real-life children, Lucie and Desi Jr., as well as Gale Gordon, who had joined the cast of “The Lucy Show” during season two. Before her death in 1989, Lucy made one more attempt at a sitcom with “Life With Lucy,” also with Gordon.
Richard Denning (George Cooper) was born Louis Albert Heindrich Denninger Jr., in Poughkeepsie, New York. When he was 18 months old, his family moved to Los Angeles. Plans called for him to take over his father’s garment manufacturing business, but he developed an interest in acting. Denning enlisted in the US Navy during World War II. He is best known for his  roles in various science fiction and horror films of the 1950s. Although he teamed with Lucille Ball on radio in “My Favorite Husband,” the two never acted together on screen. While “I Love Lucy” was on the air, he was seen on another CBS TV series, “Mr. & Mrs. North.” From 1968 to 1980 he played the Governor on “Hawaii 5-0″, his final role. He died in 1998 at age 84.
Ruth Perrott (Katie, the Maid) was also later seen on “I Love Lucy.” She first played Mrs. Pomerantz, a member of the surprise investigating committee for the Society Matrons League in “Pioneer Women” (ILL S1;E25), as one of the member of the Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League in “Lucy and Ethel Buy the Same Dress” (ILL S3;E3), and also played a nurse when “Lucy Goes to the Hospital” (ILL S2;E16). She died in 1996 at the age of 96.
Bob LeMond (Announcer) also served as the announcer for the pilot episode of “I Love Lucy”. When the long-lost pilot was finally discovered in 1990, a few moments of the opening narration were damaged and lost, so LeMond – fifty years later – recreated the narration for the CBS special and subsequent DVD release.
Bea Benadaret (Iris) and Gale Gordon (Rudolph) do not appear in this episode.
GUEST CAST
Tumblr media
Hans Conried (Mr. Benjamin Wood) first co-starred with Lucille Ball in The Big Street (1942). He then appeared on “I Love Lucy” as used furniture man Dan Jenkins in “Redecorating” (ILL S2;E8) and later that same season as Percy Livermore in “Lucy Hires an English Tutor” (ILL S2;E13) – both in 1952. The following year he began an association with Disney by voicing Captain Hook in Peter Pan. On “The Lucy Show” he played Professor Gitterman in “Lucy’s Barbershop Quartet” (TLS S1;E19) and in “Lucy Plays Cleopatra” (TLS S2;E1). He was probably best known as Uncle Tonoose on “Make Room for Daddy” starring Danny Thomas, which was filmed on the Desilu lot. He joined Thomas on a season 6 episode of “Here’s Lucy” in 1973. He died in 1982 at age 64.
Mr. Wood is the Cooper’s next door neighbor. He has eleven children.
Tumblr media
Eleanor Audley (Leaticia Cooper, George’s Mother) previously played this character in “George is Messy” on June 14, 1950. She would later play Eleanor Spalding, owner of the Westport home the Ricardos buy in “Lucy Wants To Move to the Country” (ILL S6;E15) in 1957, as well as one of the Garden Club judges in “Lucy Raises Tulips” (ILL S6;E26).
Tumblr media
Peter Leeds (Deliveryman) was born in Bayonne, NJ, was also heard on “My Favorite Husband in “Too Many Television Sets” in October 1949 and “Dance Lessons” in June 1950. He will be seen as the Reporter questioning the Maharincess of Franistan in “The Publicity Agent” (ILL S1;E31). He starred with Lucy in the films The Long, Long Trailer (1953) and The Facts of Life (1960) with Bob Hope. Coincidentally, he also appeared in “Lucy and Bob Hope” (ILL S6;E1) as well as an episode of “Here’s Lucy” in 1971.
EPISODE
ANNOUNCER: “As we look in on Sheridan Falls and the Coopers,  Liz is in the living room reading a magazine as Katie the maid dusts around the room.”
Liz asks about the mail, but Katie is light-heartedly singing “April Showers.”
Tumblr media
"April Showers" is a popular song written by Louis Silvers and B. G. De Sylva in 1921. It it is one of many popular songs whose lyrics use a "Bluebird of happiness" as a symbol of cheer. The song was introduced in the 1921 Broadway musical Bombo, where it was performed by Al Jolson. That same musical introduced the song “California, Here I Come!” which was famously sung by the cast of “I Love Lucy” in January 1955.
Liz correctly assumes that Katie is so happy because Mr. Negley, the mailman, has flirted with her. Katie says they were “playing post office.”
KATIE: “He’s so creative. He said my mouth was like a postage stamp. Then he canceled me!”
Katie hands her the mail and Liz finds a letter from her mother-in-law.
LIZ: “No one else addresses a letter ‘To George Cooper Only’ marked personal all over and then seals it with Scotch tape!”
Liz says that George’s mother does not acknowledge their marriage, let alone address her as Mrs. George Cooper.  Liz decides to sneak a peak at what’s inside the envelope.
LIZ: “I can just see some of the writing. It says ‘Keep Out Nosy’!”
Tumblr media
Lucy Ricardo was adept at secretly opening and reading sealed envelopes. In 1951′s “Drafted” (ILL S1;11) she uses the old fashioned steam method, but by 1960′s “Lucy and the Mustache” (LDCH S3;E3) she’s using knitting needles and holding the envelope up to a lamp.
When George comes home from work, Liz doesn’t even bother with a kiss before giving George the mail. George opens the letter from his mother, which reads “say hello to what’s-her-name.” George’s mother is moving to Sheridan Falls and Liz wants to put her up at the Sheridan Arms (far away) but George proposes the Garden Court (two blocks away).
That night, Liz wants to smooch in case they have to ‘ration their passion’. Liz is sure Mother will want to move in with them. Mother (Eleanor Audley) enters mid-smooch. Despite the clinch, Mother pretends she doesn’t recognize Liz as Mrs. Cooper!
Mother ‘mother smothers’ George, much to Liz’s chagrin. George admits that they haven’t found her an apartment yet. Mother quickly agrees to stay with them - only for a few days.
LIZ: “It sounds longer when she says it.”
Tumblr media
A Deliveryman (Peter Leeds) rings the bell to announce that they’ve finished unloading Mother’s things:
LIZ: “Six suitcases, a trunk, an easy chair, a potted plant, a barrel of dishes, two crates of books - just enough for a few days. She’s landed! She’s moved her supplies up and she’s dug in for the winter. You can throw away your calendar, George. From now on, every day is mother’s day with us!”
Two weeks later, Mother is still there and Katie is ready to quit. George’s mother has changed everything in the kitchen around. Liz confides that she’s had no privacy with George.
LIZ: “The three of us have been inseparable ever since she’s been here. I’m beginning to feel like one of the Andrews Sisters. I’d better go in and see how Patty and LaVerne are getting along.”
Tumblr media
The Andrews Sisters were a very successful trio of singing sisters during World War II with 19 gold records and sales of nearly 100 million copies. In 1937, the sisters scored their first big hit with “Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen.” In addition to “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” their best-known songs included “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree” and “Rum and Coca Cola.” The trio officially broke up after the death of LaVerne in 1967, when a suitable replacement could not be found. Patty Andrews guest starred on “Here’s Lucy” as herself in 1969. The plot had Lucy Carter and her daughter Kim (Lucie Arnaz) stepping in for the other two singers for a charity show. During a poker game in “Be a Pal” (ILL S1;E2), Lucy calls her two queens ‘sisters.’ When Fred looks at his newly-dealt hand he quips “You can tell your two Andrews Sisters not to wait up for LaVerne.”
In the living room, Liz finds Mother and George laughing about old times back home. Mother mentions Betty Johanson, a girl George ‘knew slightly’ a dozen years ago. Mother adds that she ‘hasn’t changed a bit.’
Later, Liz tells George that Katie has quit due to his mother’s meddling. George thinks Liz is out looking for an apartment, when Liz saw going to the movies at the Strand Theatre. At first Mother denies going to a movie, but Liz tricks her.
LIZ: “Well, if you were tired, you should have gone to a show. There’s a good one at the Strand: ‘Tokyo Joe with Clark Gable.” MOTHER: “Gable? No, it was Humphrey Bogart, I....”
Mother has been caught in her lie, so she fakes illness and goes to her room.
Tumblr media
Tokyo Joe is a crime film directed by Stuart Heisler and starring Humphrey Bogart. It premiered October 26, 1949, a week before this broadcast. At the time, Clark Gable’s film Any Number Can Play was still in theatres.
Liz dissolves into tears at the prospect of her mother-in-law staying forever and runs next door to talk to Mr. Woods (Hans Conried) about it over a cup of tea. Mr. Woods says the same thing happened to him with his mother-in-law.
MR. WOODS: “She moved out after the birth of our eleventh child!” LIZ: “Is that the only cure?”
George comes over to find his wife and Mr. Wood acts as intermediary, shouting at George through the window. They are successful at patching things up. George has told his mother to leave and (unbelievably) she’s graciously agreed to go. Just as she’s about to leave, she gets a spell and faints.
Tumblr media
LIZ: “George! Look out!  A mouse!  Running across the floor right near your mother’s hand!”
Mother jumps up and runs away from the invisible rodent. Liz tricks has tricked her again!  But when Mother sprints across the room, she trips and sprains her ankle!  Six weeks of recuperation ahead!
GEORGE: “How did this happen?” MOTHER: “I tripped and fell over my suitcase!  Someone put it by the front door!” LIZ: “Oh, no!”
Tumblr media
his ending is identical to the play and film The Man Who Came To Dinner by Kaufman and Hart. In it, Sheridan Whiteside is a bombastic houseguest is finally convinced to leave when he slips on the ice and must stay on to recuperate, much to the frustration of his hosts. The 1939 stage play and 1942 film featured Lucille Ball’s friend Mary Wickes as Whiteside’s nurse.
Tumblr media
In the bedtime tag, Liz and George are asleep in bed. Liz wakes George to wonder why he’s smiling. He’s dreaming about the most beautiful creature in the world: a rainbow trout!
LIZ: “If I ever find one scale on your lapel I’ll swim upstream to mother. Goodnight, George!”

Pairing: Jaime x MC (I do write for other pairings. I promise)
Word Count: 1,600
Summary: Sometimes the ability to read minds makes it difficult to keep secrets.
Note: This story was written as part of my 150 Followers Celebration and fulfills kiss prompt #15 (Kissing someone to stop them blurting out a secret/something they’ll regret).
Tumblr media
Your lunch has arrived! And your boyfriend too. 😉
Arden’s phone screen lit with the incoming text, and her face followed suit as she read. When Jaime had suggested coming by the studio to have a meal together during the middle of the week, he couldn’t have expected just how hectic her morning might have been, nor what a reprieve it would be for her to spend a few minutes of time with him in the midst of copy deadlines and interviews and research…
She proofed her email one final time, pressed send, and rose from her chair to meet Jaime in the entry. They’d managed to keep their newfound romance from her coworkers for the past couple of weeks, and she wasn’t in any hurry to change anyone’s perceptions. It wasn’t that she had any qualms about dating Jaime. If anything, the relationship made her look good. But for the moment it was just simpler this way. She still wasn’t sure how seriously Alec took her in her new role, but she was fairly certain that being at the root of office drama wasn’t going to improve the interactions she had with her boss.
Grabbing her phone and keys, she left the desk and turned the corner out of the writing room, headed for the hallway and the outer door that led to the lobby of the building.
“Gale?” Alec’s voice curbed her step and she turned on her heel to face him. “I’ve said it before, but get rid of those shoes. They look like you pulled them off a thrift-store mannequin.”
I don’t think thrift-store mannequins have feet… at least they don’t in the ones I’ve been to. Alec’s really stretching today. Tony's voice popped into Arden’s mind, and she had to fight the urge to giggle at her coworker’s observation.
For a moment, all Arden could do was blink, trying to take both comments in stride. By the time she spoke, most of the edge had gone out of her voice. “I’m not getting rid of them, but I will try not to wear them on camera again.” Playing nice with Alec always meant walking the fine line between caving and fighting an unnecessary battle.
“See that you don’t. You’re the new face of Northbridge News, Gale. Don’t make me regret promoting you.”
Somebody needs to say something to this jerk. If he thinks he can keep demeaning her like this, he’s got another thing coming.
This time, the voice wasn’t Tony’s, Arden realized with a panic. She pivoted toward the sound to see Jaime taking the hallway in long strides.
"What's your boyfriend doing here, Gale?" Alec's face contorted into its signature sneer as he turned questioning eyes on her.
I've got this, Arden.
But the flash of anger in Jaime's eyes sent her heart to her throat. There was no way this conversation would end well for any of them if she allowed him to speak. Instead, she braced herself and took action.
Jaime was still a step away, so she sprang forward, throwing her arms around his neck. Startled by her sudden burst of affection, he faltered back, arms coming to hold her in place as he caught his balance.
Their lips met in a kiss, and though she wasn't one for passionate public displays, Arden employed all of her skill to give him a kiss that would wipe all thoughts of Alec from his mind.
Insistently, her tongue slipped between his open mouth, running along the inside of his lower lip as she pulled him closer. She pushed up on her toes, almost wishing that she'd remembered Alec's footwear recommendations earlier so that she could have the extra inches.
Jaime made up the distance, bending his head down so that she could reach him easily. If he had been startled by her abrupt beginning, he now played along as though it was something they’d planned in advance. The moment he scraped his teeth against her bottom lip, she knew that his immediate frustrations with Alec had been forgotten. With one final, emphatic smooch, she stepped back, confident in the feeling of a job well done.
Perhaps a little too well done, she mused upon realizing just how lightheaded she was in the aftermath. It was a wonder she remained standing after leaving that kind of embrace.
The absence of her own thoughts did not keep others from piling in, however.
Damn, was all Tony could think.
I knew it! I knew they were dating! courtesy of June
You could have given me some warning, Arden. Not that I'm complaining, but... Jaime’s cheeks were bright red, whether from embarrassment or arousal, she couldn’t tell.
Only Alec's comments came through with a full voice. "Save the drama for the cameras, Gale. And please get your boyfriend out of my studio. I don't like his face."
"Then it’s fortunate you're not the one dating him, Mr. Burdock," she replied curtly, hearing the objections in the thoughts of her coworkers. She'd take care to see that Jaime left their lunch date with no doubt as to how very much she adored his face, but trotting that information out in front of her boss didn't seem productive. "I'm taking my lunch now. I'll be back in twenty minutes to finish my research for the evening broadcast."
"Fine."
"Woohoo!" June cheered in the background when they clasped hands. "I knew it. Didn't I call this weeks ago, Tony?"
"You did. And I guess that’s what all of that smirking was about back at the library..."
Arden's face turned a deeper shade of scarlet as the voices faded. Jaime wisely remained silent until they'd passed through the building’s front doors, but she could read his concern anyway.
"What happened back there? I know you weren't planning for anyone at work to find out we were dating until later...."
"I just panicked,” she told him truthfully, finding a seat on one of the benches outside the studio. “And making out with you in front of the whole office seemed preferable to having you throw down the gauntlet at my boss."
I certainly enjoyed it more, his thoughts told her, though he said only, "I'm so sorry, Arden. I didn't mean to put you in that kind of position."
"It's fine," she evaded, flipping open the top of her carryout and stabbing the contents with her fork. "They were going to find out eventually regardless."
"Sure, but I still feel bad. I shouldn't have been so upset with him. I just hate it when people undermine you, Arden."
"I know you do.” Conscious that their time was limited, she piled in a quick bite of pasta. Arden chewed the mouthful with amusement, remembering the many times they’d stood up for one another in the past. He'd never risked the principal’s office except on her behalf.
“And honestly?” she started again, wiping sauce from the corner of her mouth. “It’s kind of flattering to know that you’re willing to put yourself in danger to keep me out of trouble.”
Like Burdock poses any great bodily harm...
"Fair point. But I still think we need to establish some parameters. There are just some battles I have to fight on my own, and when it comes to Alec, I'm better off doing it solo."
"Even when he takes advantage of you?"
"Jaime, this is a cutthroat business. It feels even more ruthless after everything that happened with Ellen. If my boss wants to insult my shoes, I'm not going to let it get to me. I’m not going to bow to his every whim, but I am going to do everything I can to prove him wrong when he questions my abilities. I can’t do that if I get myself fired over something dumb.”
"But you know I'm always there on the sidelines, right? And if he crosses any of your lines, Arden, you'd better let me know."
"I promise." She extended a hand to squeeze his shoulder. “Alec Burdock isn’t going to come between me and achieving my dreams.”
“There’s my best girl,” he acknowledged, smiling.
“I’d better be your only girl,” her voice rose in a faux reprimand.
“Always.”

“I’m going to have to go back in there soon,” she groaned minutes later, packing up her leftovers.
“Would it help if I went in with you?”
“Ugh. No, I think that would make things worse. And who knows? Maybe some insane story has broken in the last fifteen minutes and everyone’s forgotten about the scene we made.” Her eyebrows arched with an optimism she didn’t feel.
“They're probably all just jealous that you snagged up such a paragon of masculinity.”
Arden snorted at his self-aggrandizing. “And now I’m starting to question my taste in men...”
He captured her lips in a kiss. No, you’re not.
“No, I’m not,” she agreed when he pulled away. “But you’d better not call yourself that ever again.”
“Noted.”
“I really do need to get back in there before Alec sends someone out to get me,” she insisted with a glance at her phone screen.
“I should probably go too. But I’m only a call away if you need me.”
"It’ll all work out. On the plus side, I can probably get by with at least a peck on the cheek next time you come to visit me at work.”
“I can’t wait.” He gave her a parting kiss before turning toward the parking lot.
“And Jaime?” She caught him just as he was walking out of earshot. “Before I forget, I like your face.”

A/N: Hey I’m here and the oneshot is finally finished! Thank you for inspiring me to write it down, ‘cuz it felt amazing to put into words a few feelings and I really hope you enjoy it, baby :) Wish I could play any instruments, so the “song” Taehyung wrote for Diyaa during the story would come true, but for now it’s just a short poem. Sorry :/
P: S The Mark mentioned during the story isn’t Mark Tuan from GOT7, it’s a made up character and you can imagine him like you want, and think would possibly attract Yoongi.

Diyaa felt the rays of sunlight warming her face, every detail bathing under the waves of heat, bearable and delicious, caressing her skin like kisses. Still with closed eyes, she grope the bedsheets, looking for some human contact, specifically with Taehyung. Fingers trailing the silk fabric, blindly and allowing only touch guide her senses, finding its path and reaching for his long digits.
Laying on her back, covered with a navy-blue blanket and still listening to every single words said emotionally the afternoon before. Diyaa was stuck to them, all she could think about. Passionately contemplating how long it would last. The feelings, the touches, the promises. Hopefully forever.
Slowly and lazily opening her eyes, Diyaa took her time to get used to the bright morning lights. Still sleepy and intertwining pinkies with Taehyung, she stared at him, sleeping on his stomach peacefully by her side, while Diyaa couldn't help but watch passionately his exposed back going slightly up and down, calmly inhaling and exhaling.
Everything about Kim Taehyung seemed ethereal, way too perfect to be considered human. From his soft dark brown hair, to his breathing movements while sleeping. Diyaa always pointed out how lucky she felt for having him, looking up to encounter a flustered Tae with rosy cheeks and a timid smirk.
— I'm the lucky one in this relationship, sweetcheeks. - Tae always said, caressing her face dutifully with one hand, while the other one found its way to Diyaa's, intertwining pinkies.
The connection between them was strong, deep, soulmates. Her peaceful personality mixed with how chaotic he was. Yin and Yang. Balancing each other. Diyaa never felt something so profound or good, same for Taehyung, who was used to fake relationships, friendships, partnerships, a plastic world which he was tired of, willing to give up in exchange of some truthfull love and caring. Luckily, the man found honesty without leaving behind everything he battled for.
Taehyung was desperate and lonely, surrounded by bodies, but lacking souls. Filling the void with alcohol and overwork, sometimes mixing both of them and dragging Namjoon back to his old habits: late night studio sessions, hosed by cold vodka and lime slices. Some masterpieces were resulted, but no one involved felt happy.
At some point, getting drunk got trite and Tae bought stronger drugs, such as cocaine. With a thin package of powder disguised as salt on his wallet, Taehyung was feeling the pity results of a night spent on studio with Namjoon and Yoongi (who almost caught him taking a sniff). Under the hangover effects, he questioned his life choices, thinking about what would Hyung possibly do after getting him red handed. Everyone close to Suga knew he had problems with coke, only sobering up after his boyfriend, Mark, found him in a puddle of vomit, almost overdosing. Even drinking a few shots from time to time, Yoongi hated the idea of seeing someone he cared about going down the same alley.
The brown-haired man decided to get some coffee and buy new books, tired of reading the ones he had at home. At the bookstore, Taehyung grabbed a random work from Dan Brown and got in line for paying. Still hiding behind his sunglasses, he looked up and saw possibly the prettiest girl alive, dressed in a black mid-lenght sleeved shirt and a yellow apron. He felt his heart skip a beat noticing that on Diyaa's (as written on her tag) wrist was painted a sunflower, Van Gogh style.
— Fuck. I'm going to buy books here more often. - Taehyung spoke out loud, meaning to only say it to himself. The girl in front of him blushed and smirked.
He obsessed over Diyaa for over three weeks, before actually finding courage enough to ask her out. The day he finally did it, Namjoon was there to pick up his copy of "It" and a few magazines to leave on the dorm's bathrooms, also guaranteeing Taehyung wouldn't chicken out on the last minute.
Diyaa acknowledged who he was and would recognize his godlike face from kilometers afar, but never considered the idea of meeting him in person, nevermind attracting him and being asked out. At first, the girl thought everything was just a dream and even pinched her own thigh to make sure, feeling a sting and realizing that it was actually happening and Kim Namjoon was also there, holding a bunch of random magazines (literally, one of them was about motorcycle gears and raising cows).
Their first date was on a coffee shop, Diyaa didn't mention she only drank iced-coffee and Tae paid for two expressos, and a few almond cookies he claimed to taste like heaven on a plate. In fact, the biscuits were amazing. While leaving the place, after spending three hours laughing and chatting, the girl confessed that she hated coffee and a very guilty Taehyung bought her frozen yogurt with a no number of toppings. Staring at her cheeks full of brownies and strawberries, the man felt his heart melt a little.
Two years later, plenty of fights over Taehyung's addictions and bad habits, now Diyaa was helping him remain clean and sober, sometimes loosening up so he could drink wine on Christmas special to VLive, nothing stronger than champagne was their deal.
Mark and Yoongi also helped with Tae, since they went through something similar at the beginning of their relationship. Suga felt overwhelmed when Diyaa and Taehyung told what was happening, and getting his handsome and talented friend back on track became a teamwork. After coming out with his addiction, Tae became the fulltime maknae, being watched closely by even Jungkook, who was with him after relapsing for the first time and helped out when detoxing started all over again.
Now fully awake, Diyaa rolled on the bed to place her chin against Tae’s shoulder blade, hearing a growl coming down from his throat, still asleep, the man moved slightly and speaking in a low, raspy voice asking her to lift up the face so he could turn around and lay on his back.
He was still asleep, swollen eyes and mouth, not quite ready to stand up and face another toil afternoon and late night practice, wishing to stay right where they were, enjoying Diyaa’s second day off and just making out, or watching a movie, without giving more than 500 steps during the next 24 hours. Where there's a will, there's no way, so before the couple could possibly think of pretending to be sick, Hoseok knocked on the door, crooning on a rather pitch voice.
— Wake up lovey doves. I mean, Taehyung, Didi can keep on sleeping, she is off while he has a whole day of workiiiing. - After finishing the lyrics and high-note, the song continued with a whistling that wouldn’t quit before Tae opened the door and saw a fully dressed Jung Hoseok, with his uglyass Balenciaga shoes, skinny jeans and white t-shirt.
— You’re annoying and I’m going to toss your shoes right in the middle of the nearest river. - Tae said and closed the door, going back to bed, holding Diyaa on a tight hug, leaving smooches all over her face. - I know you hate my morning bad-breathe, but I love you. Good morning sweetcheeks.
— Go brush your teeth, you pig! - Diyaa joked, while caressing his chest and allowed herself to feel his soft, swollen and moisturized lips cover her face in light kisses. Yeah, she hated his morning bad-breathe, but also adored Tae. - I love you too, honeybuns.
— Come on baby, honeybuns? Why horse names? I swear that if at some point you end up calling me Buttercup or Chestnut, I’m going call a quit to this relationship. - Tae said staring her deadly serious, but leaving a perverse grin take over his gorgeous features.
They stayed there, kissing and discussing better nicknames, when Jungkook opened the door without any warning, staring at Taehyung and saying, before looking back to his cellphone, where he got into a very critic situation on the Battle Royale match.
— Morning hyung. Morning Diyaa. Jin said that if you don’t stand up and get ready, we are leaving without you. - He looked up from his cellphone screen and continued. - He also said that if you don’t get ready in 20 minutes, he’ll be taking the breakfast with him as well.
Taehyung growled again and stood on his feet, shooshing away Jungkook and breathing heavily. Diyaa was still laying comfortably on the bed, holding his pillow and glancing at him lazily.
— Ok sugartits, duty calls. You can stay at the dorms and sleep, or go to your own place and sleep. You decide where you want to crash. You know the rules, Yoongi’s room is a forbidden area. Don’t light any black light around, unless you want to see a Pollock painting.
— I'm going home. It's been days since I saw Gale for the last time, I don't even know if she fed Nemo right. - Diyaa commented while sitting up and sliding off the bed.
Walking in the bathroom direction, Tae glanced over to his girlfriend again, feeling immensely lucky, not regretting a single word said the afternoon before when they celebrated their 2 years anniversary. He loved and worshipped her, beside all the gratitude felt for helping with every addiction, also representing to perfection her task as muse for composing and work in general. Painting, singing, writing, thinking, there was nothing unrelated to Diyaa's appearance and personality.

Late night composing. Taehyung couldn't even remember the last time it happened. Everyone always felt like reliving old situations related to "dark times" would end up in relapsing again, so Namjoon and Suga changed passwords from every studio inside the BigHit building, only allowing Tae to get access whenever another member was around.
Honestly, thanks to Jimin and his fingers full of Doritos powder, Taehyung found out the new codes two weeks after changed, but writing alone was boring so he never felt the urge to use them.
Differently from any other day, Taehyung had everything related to a new song stuck to his brain, from melody to lyrics. After convincing Suga to stay til late on the Genius Lab, he began working hard and passionately. Whenever he lacked words, only staring at Diyaa's smile on his lockscreen helped.
Yoongi was tired of practicing, but didn't had the balls to say no to a deeply inspired Kim Taehyung and called Mark, calling off their plans of having dinner, but politely inviting him over, not really meaning it, he also wanted to finish one song to his new upcoming mixtape. And let's face it, focusing on something other than his shiny eyes and plump lips was very difficult. Per se impossible.
Better than anyone else, Yoongi knew how personal a composition could get, so he just left Taehyung working without interruption, a constant flow of words and melodies emitting from his mouth and guitar.
Considering how long it would take for him to finish the primary details, Suga decided to order dinner, turkey sandwiches and orange juice. Vitamin C was important, bro. Presumably, based on how focused Tae was, he also texted Diyaa guaranteeing everything was alright and if her boyfriend didn't answer any messages it wasn't on purpose.
Nothing else existed around, only the notebook where he was sketching lyrics and the guitar. Distractions showed up now and then, but Taehyung wouldn't even notice, every word and feeling flew from his mind to the paper easily and smoothly.
"Skin smooth like whipped cream
Breathe appealing and reminding me of cold blue breeze
Oh, I feel your silk voice at afternoon
At night, get comfy on your touch soft as wool
I melt in your pastel pink lips
And sand yellowish sweater covering down your hips."
Said the first verse. When Taehyung decided to write a song completely about Diyaa, nothing sounded appealing or good enough. He wanted it to pat ears with a sweet melody, sounding as beautifully as her voice. Randomly, during a conversation with Namjoon, the hyung mentioned a condition called 'synesthesia' where some of the senses just mingled, making the person listen to colours or taste smells. After searching a little better, Tae found a way of describing his love and worship for Diyaa.
While putting together some ideas, Tae remembered how he couldn't tell apart her fruity smell perfume from the mint fresh breath, whenever they were kissing it felt like a froot salad on his taste buds. Or how soft her skin was, so whenever Diyaa used clothes made of light fabrics, everything seemed so unearthly, as if she could fly and astound humanity to a point everyone would worship her as a goddess. In contrast, wool made Diyaa looks so soft and cuddly.
He wished to highlight how everything improved after meeting her. No longer than 3 months together and Diyaa became his sun, warming and keeping him healthy. Now she represented life, heat and a meaning to keep on living. Diyaa was his daily dose of strength,
"You're my reason to live, breathe and never surrender to any adversity
You are my sun and I'm a sunflower
Your warm hugs created a bond based on tender
Even at night, eyes can't see but heart always feel
I'll chase you, round and round I'll follow you for real
You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed
I would cross the world to see you dusk and dawn. "
At some point, writing became so personal and emotional that Taehyung unconsciously felt tears roll down his face. Luckily, Yoongi was entertained producing a track with headphones on and didn't pay attention to whatever happened around.
The previous afternoon, celebrating their second anniversary with a picnic on the rooftop, Tae began talking nonstop flooding Diyaa's ears and mind with sweet and sincere words, possibly the deepest ones she ever heard from him in so long.
Everything started while looking for shape on clouds, laying peacefully at the rooftop.
— It's just vapor and air, but still manages to keep up in there, looking fluff. Physics is a badass bitch. - Taehyung said laying on his back, while staring at the skies, legs crossed and one hand pointing to the impressively big and dense cloud which amazed him, while the other one was being used as a pillow for his head.
— Yeah. It's so crazy to think that atmosphere is holding a bunch of condensed water right above our heads, and us down here. If something happened and the air got slightly different, we would probably float like clouds or get killed by the gravity, making us suffocate or get smashed by how heavy we would get. - Diyaa said also staring at the skies, but with a grin on her face.
Taehyung turned his head to face the girl, with eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He loved how Diyaa saw things, always finding a wire to connect subjects and turn the assumption into a whole another topic. The brown-haired man would never get tired of their long conversations, pillow talks or just random talks, there was never space to be bored.
— How did you just came up with that, though? We were looking for shapes on clouds and suddenly you are suffocating us in your mind. Girl, your brain is so fascinating. - Tae said smiling, still looking at Diyaa's soft expression and round cheeks, sparkling a light on her dorky grin.
— And that's a compliment I've never heard before. Not even coming from you. - She said turning to stare at his dark eyes, finding a Taehyung smirking passionately, glaring at her. - You always point out how soft my hair feels, or how my taste for movies is possibly the most random, just because we went from watching Saw and began a rom-com marathon with The Kissing Booth.
Tae's hand slid from his lap and found its way to intertwine with Diyaa, caressing the back of her hand with the thumb.
— I love finding new details to compliment about you. Luckily, you are so interesting, it would be impossible to run out of traits and sweet words. - He said and got back into staring at the skies.
They could stay silent for long periods of time without feeling uncomfortable. After so many ups and downs, fights and make ups, the lack of words would never bother them. Only sensing and acknowledging each other’s presence, with light touches or cuddles, was always enough.
Taehyung glanced over to Diyaa again, watching her skin being caressed by the daylight, he felt a knot tight on his throat and an incompatible need to speak, expressing how much he loved her.
— Sweetcheeks, I love you. - Diyaa looked at him about to say something, but his pointer finger laid on her lips and a waterfall of words flew from his mouth, untying the knot on his throat and making salty tears roll down. - I love you way more than I love anything else in this goddamn world. You met me in a complicate moment, back in then I was a dirtybag full of shit and instead of leaving me and prayed for the best, you stuck around and helped to rise up again. I was so afraid of you getting tired of my hectic life and watch you leaving me for someone more similar. This idea still frights me up. I’m so grateful and I don’t think it’s possible to reward you. You deserve the world and now I remember listening to Yoongi praising Mark for all the assistance on his addictions, and how he claimed that love saved him. Back in then, constantly high and drunk, I mocked him, but look at me now. Full cheeks, sober for over a year, attending to the reunions, in a healthy relationship, living my best life so far. You even made me ditch fake friends and value the ones I have here.
“I don’t think there are words pretty enough to describe you, that’s why nothing I compose is totally about you and I want to change it. Put in a song why I love you and spread around like seeds. You are my sun and I’m a sunflower full of pollen and it’s possibly the worst metaphor ever. Sorry sweetcheeks.” - Tae continued, finger still on Diyaa’s lips, but now she didn’t knew what to say, only feeling the urge to kiss him, while sobbing on his chest, never truly understanding how deep was their love. - “I want to describe you in melodical words. Tell the world how your voice makes fireworks pop inside my brain, leaving a trail of colours around. Everything. You deserve the greatest masterpiece and I’m afraid I won’t be able to accomplish it.”
A whole new cascade of words were said and attached to them a promise: as long as they were alive, they would always keep their fire burning and love growing. Cultivating a life together like flowers, specifically sunflowers, just like the ones Diyaa had tattooed on her wrist and Taehyung intended to paint on his own skin at some point.
 - x -
Yoongi finished editing his track and left the headphones slide down to his neck while saving the archive on a file named “Mixtape 2″. He turned around on his chair and saw a sobbing Taehyung, trying his best to not smudge the lyrics written down. At first the hyung didn’t react, trying to remember what to do in such situations and a few seconds later getting in ‘parent mode’, walking carefully to check on the crying kid.
— What happened Tae? Is everything alright? - Yoongi didn’t touch Taehyung, but made sure he noticed the body getting closer.
— Of course, I’m just so happy hyung! I think I did it! I wrote something worth of being related to Diyaa! - Heavy, but happy, tears went down his face, trembling hands raising the notebook and handing it to Yoongi.
Holding the notebook and sitting down again, Yoongi read the lyrics carefully, paying attention to how personal every verse was. If love could possibly be materialized and described, the words completing that song would make its part. A feeling of tenderness took over Min Yoongi’s heart and the urge to cry got unbearable. He was proud and sentimental.
“I used to be blue and dancing between shades of grey
Your yellow love took over me turning me green
I was growing again, adulting up again
You gave me hope, when all I wanted was to quit
You held me up, now I’m alive and everyday a little more keen
After so many days together, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been
I’m so thankful, sweetcheeks.”
