One day, Matty (not to be mistaken with the Intern, because they are different even if equally powerful entities on my mind) said something about not minding receiving a lot of asks and I'm here to make you (both of you) regret it.
I love those games like "say X and will guess Y about you"
What about say "what's your favorite TAP episode and I will say why are you trying/ need to disappear?"
If you're up to it, dear Intern
My favorite episode is Mister Love, Actuary
(and if you tell yours Im sure I can discover WHY you are trying to contact the Amelia hotline yourself)
I love this, though I can not say that I will be very good at this game.
But... You love Christmas, you love the Amelia-family and you are desperately hoping for a happy reunion, nobody dying in any possible way and also, you really like Zach Valenti. Oh, and Love Actually.
I can't even decide on my favorite episode - but if it's only the ones that came out so far and not all the secrets I may or may not know - it's a tie between Zale Indigo Ravenheart and Raven.

Okay, now they REALLY gotta drop the Jacobi duck-related lore 🦆 (and I need to stop holding out hope Blessie will return 😔💔)
(Or my reaction to Wolf359’s Mission Mishap Episodes).
Welcome back dear readers! My schedule has been busy lately, but the Mission Mishap episodes were mercifully short, so I’ve been listening to a few episodes per week and have gathered my reactions here for you all to enjoy.
Tagging the mutuals who got me invested in this, and if you want to be tagged or untagged from these posts, lmk, or you can follow my blog or simply follow the tag "#bods wolf359 reactions". Anyone who has followed me for a while knows my updates are inconsistent, so I apologize in advance for that and for any spelling/grammar mistakes in my posts.
@sophieswundergarten @oflightningandstars @acollectionofcuriousreblogs @herawell @commsroom
Also tagging @lovelyladylavie because I promised I’d tag you way back on this post and forgot (I’m so sorry!) but my reactions are all under the tag so you should be able to find them!
Mission Mishaps: A Little Night Music
"Not fully reading your contract before you sign it...not understanding your job responsibilities, and wanting commander off your back" I love Doug's sponsorships and the dramatic irony 😂 *Cue The Fine Print playing in the background...*
I guess the only actor they could get was Doug. Nice of him to fill us in on what Minkowski and Hera are saying though.
OH MY GOSH.
HIS VOICE.
DR. DR. PROFESSOR DR. PROFESSOR F. EIFFEL 😂
It's so fancy. Mannnyyyy PhDs. Very impressive, Doug.
I'm so happy we got more radio show Doug. I need to hear him do a radio show where all his personalities talk to each other. Being the special guest on the show is Cutter's punishment for all eternity. The Dear Listeners make 5 copies of Doug so he can be all the characters.
"The feeling you'll die miserably..." yikes, broke character for a second there Doug.
"Ah yes...the way the piano notes dance around the...other piano notes...absolutely fantastic piece for when you want to start your day with the paino-y energy" Well said Doug.
Oh boy. Cowboy music. Is this the return of Badass McAwesome? Do I dare to hope?
Ah, well, better luck next time.
His poor toe. I hate when that happens too, Doug.
The...mind eraser?
Don't like how that sounds. Especially after the threats in "Change of Mind".
Better not be foreshadowing.
"This song is a mutant, it's superpower is being catchy. It never leaves."
Okay, THAT better not be foreshadowing.
"Afraid of the plant monster?" I wish we could be, Doug. I wish we could be. 😔🪴
"Worried you'll never get back to Earth to see you're family?" Oh, Doug. 💔
"Bosses you're pretty sure are kind of evil" Kind of is generous Doug.
Yeah...yeah Doug that got very dark there for a bit.
Moral boosting? Oh dear. MUTE 😂 AFTER TWO MINUTES 😂
I love Doug. Poor fellow. I enjoyed the broadcast Doug. They don't appreciate your talents.
Mission Mishaps: The Space You’re In
I love the title’s double meaning.
More of Doug dodging his work I see. A common theme.
“Please stop going off on tangents” I guess Cutter and Pryce didn’t send them up with any ADHD meds. “I’m here for work 😊” Nice cover, Doug. 👍🏻 nailed it.
“I’m gonna get that thing that I forgot”. You do that Doug.
How did I know Doug was gonna break something? 🤣
Specimen incubation period??? BLESSIE????
How dare they tease us with Blessie lore?
Good question Doug. Why IS there a harpoon?
Doug literally has no where to hide. 🤣
Oh right. Space. Why do I see that backfiring?
PFFTTT—- Did she just call him a lizard? 🦎
“It’s beautiful” -> “I hate space” poor Doug. I’m sensing a pattern 🤣
Mission Mishaps: You Want, I Solve Ah Doug stealing coffee from Minkowski. Once again, I sense a pattern.
Wait. A puppy? 🥰🐕‍🦺🐾
“The mean lady who runs this place” really Doug? You did just steal her coffee.
2 tails? Well, twice the wagging, I see that as a win. 🥰
Follow him Doug!
IS ZACH VALENTI DOING THE VOICE OF THE DOG?
AS SMEGOL AND GOLLUM FROM LORD OF THE RINGS?
Tumblr media
AND IS DOUG HALLUCINATING FROM THE COFFEE???
The dogs are multiplying? David Bowie is here? Okay Doug is hallucinating for sure.
Ah hello Hilbert.
Why is he treating the manual like it’s the ring? 🤣
Well. That was weird.
Oh, Hilbert. All to get Doug to bond with the manual.
And yet something tells me he still won’t read it. It does sound like he might be cuddling with it at night and killing anyone who tries to take it from him though. Mildly concerning. Mission Mishaps: The Veldt Oh my gosh. The episode description. Eiffel goes into the greenhouse… y’all. I don’t wanna get my hopes up, but…
IS THIS BLESSIE CONTENT???? 🪴
Tumblr media
I’m so excited guys. I don’t wanna get my hopes up, I know I shouldn’t, but I need Blessie back!
So Doug is doing his chores again. I sense a pattern.
He does a great Australian accent. Again, I need the aliens to clone Doug just so he can have a show where his different personalities talk to each other. Hm. Oxygen chamber has a lot of passwords. And a lot of weird ways to enter passwords. Which is nice for protecting the air, but not so great when you, you know, desperately need air and only have a few seconds to enter the password.
The binary forms of color? This is so extreme not to mention boring. Not one sign of Blessie. I’ve been bamboozled. And WHY is there a timer? This is so weird.
THAT’S IT?
Well I’m upset. We went to the greenhouse and didn’t see leaf or stem of Blessie. 💔
I’m not giving up hope. If not in the show then in fanfic that plant is coming back.
Mission Mishaps: Lights Out
Another entry from dear Doug. I wonder if Minkowski and Hilbert are gonna have him do something he doesn’t want to and then hijinks ensues and Doug messes something up?
HP Lovecraft, Call of Kuthulu? Oh me too Doug stuff is hard to pronounce.
Doug does a good creepy narrator voice. It’s funny to think of Hera listening to all this. It reminds me of those people on Lovelace’s crew reading stories together.
“Property of Dr….”
DOCTOR WHO? (A good show, but I’m literally asking the question).
Is it that girl on Lovelaces crew who liked to read? (I’m sorry it’s hard to keep track of their names).
Ah yes, and the star is acting up. As is Doug’s imagination. I’m sure this couldn’t possibly go wrong.
Hilbert. What sample? What escaped?
I’m not getting my hopes up this time. You teased me with Blessie once. I’m not falling for it again. I’ve been burned before.
It just sounds like a little mouse. 🐁
…I hope it’s not one of the spiders… I’m now beginning to realize Doug’s fears…
“It’s small and scurrying”
Is it a mouse?
Doug, it’s probably just a mouse. “It’s staring at me.” Well it’s probably scared too, Doug.
Doug, you better not have killed that poor little mouse.
You killed the maintenance drone Doug? Well that was a wild ride. At first I thought they weren’t gonna go the “Doug messes up a thing Hilbert and Minkowski are doing” route but they always surprise me with their ability to bring it back there. Not that I’m complaining, I’m loving these stories. Mission Mishaps: Cold Turkey More Doug! Wow. 553 days. That’s… that’s a lot.
Thanksgiving? Is this the same Thanksgiving from Hera’s memory? 🦃
Banned from the kitchen? Oh poor, Doug. Was Hilbert not available? I guess he’s Russian so he doesn’t celebrate it. But he can probably cook.
Doug is just like me fr. Don’t ask my partner what happened when I tried to make him food. All you need to know was that I tried my best, and it’s the thought that counts.
Doug is gonna burn this Turkey. I know the actress was probably busy and these are “extra” episodes, but Hera please come online and help him.
Oh gross. Cans of spam? Disgusting.
Right, maybe Hilbert can do something. But on the other hand, Hilbert and Eiffel can make each other worse. And what was that about psychoactive properties? What was Hilbert exposed to?
“Can I give indifference? I have plenty of that.” Yes, Hilbert, you made that very clear.
“Oh well if I have to “come on”.” “Really!” “No.” Hilbert is lowkey hilarious 🤣 “I like pecan pie…maybe thanksgiving is not so terrible.” 🥧
I love how Hilbert sounds like he’s plotting something ominous even when he’s just talking about pie. 🤣
But seriously, why was he in Texas? He never answered that.
“The best way to keep him away from the kitchen was to put you in charge” oh poor Doug. She was right though.
Aw, this is sweet. I like how it connects to what we saw in Hera’s memories too.
Mission Mishaps: No Complaints Aw man, SI-5? What happened to Doug?
First they take Blessie from me then they force me to spent time with his killers.
Well gang, I guess it’s time for the adventures of Whiskey Man and Duck Boy.
Wow. Sitting in a car and brooding in the rain. An action packed adventure if I’ve ever heard one.
Oh wait, are they stalking Maxwell? They said she was from a small town.
“Did you stalk me?” Yes, he did Jacobi. Kepler was acting so creepy at that bar, I’m sorry. What even was that?
“I really hate you sometimes sir. ✨You’re the worst✨” oh Duck Boy you have no idea.
THE DUCK THING? OH NO PLEASE TELL US ABOUT THE DUCK THING.
What video. WHAT VIDEO.
Please tell us why Jacobi is brooding and PLEASE tell us about the duck video.
Jacobi taught him questions only? Wow he really does love to dig his own grave.
Kepler is not your friend Jacobi. If you think he is, you… gosh you really need to meet somebody. Anybody.
All this complaining… Jacobi really is the evil version of Doug sometimes…
What was on Jacobi’s mind? What did Rachel think was on his mind? Oh, his one year recruitment.
Nothing good ever comes out of a mysterious duffel bag. Why does he have all those fireworks?
When your evil boss takes you on a fake stake out and gives you some fireworks to blow up because he knows you crave destruction: 💣🎆🥰🎇🧨😍
I like that they play fireworks sounds as they roll the credits. It’s a nice touch. Mission Mishaps: Happy Holidays Already down to the last one. Time flies when you’re having fun. Oh more SI-5. Hopefully a little less Whiskey Boy, a little more Duck related lore.
Oh no such luck. :(
Geez, Kepler really does love flexing every single bit of power that he has, doesn’t he? Just get to the point already! Why couldn’t he have been the one to go instead of Maxwell?
“Oh no! Not a binary fault in the quartical… um… that’s bad!” Duck Boy stop being funny I don’t want to like you.
Not Kepler’s slow claps… I swear this man is infatuated with the idea of being a super villain.
What are they afraid of?
A holiday party?
the evil space corporation has a HOLIDAY PARTY?
For what holiday? Cutter and Pryce clearly hate holidays. They’ve ordered people killed on nearly every holiday we’ve seen! … actually maybe that’s their way of making the holidays their own… and it makes me wonder who they want to kill at this party. Jacobi and Maxwell have a right to be concerned about this.
“We don’t ask questions. We trust that we were given orders for a reason.” THAT ONLY WORKS IF YOU ARE WORKING FOR TRUSTWORTHY PEOPLE. And committing or endorsing murder takes you off the trustworthy list.
The idea of Cutter and Pryce celebrating Christmas disgusts me. Like, physically I have a hard time stomaching it. Christmas is about joy, and love, and goodwill toward mankind. Cutter and his crazy science gf have no place involving themselves in that. Not unless they show some serious remorse and do some serious penance and jail time.
SECRET SANTA EXCHANGE?
What kind of horrifying messed up gifts do people get each other? I hope Jacobi gets a pet duck.
… Maxwell’s mom died? “We all know you don’t talk to your mom” “…my mom just died?” “No Jacobi.” STOP BEING FUNNY.
Compare this to the holiday stuff that happens with the Hephaestus… this has such a creepy undertone. Especially when you imagine the events happening at the same time.
Well, that’s all for the Mission Mishaps. Sorry it took me so long guys, but I love and appreciate your patience. Excited to finish the rest of the series and hopefully I’ll have more for you soon!

The Michie Playlist
Happy Valenties Yall. You may have seen my post about making a Michie Playlist. This is my review of songs already on it, originating from @wildrottingworms michie playlist. Barring Granger Danger (because they told me to) and adding another song, because it fits with another.
Here's the playlist on youtube if you want to follow along, and here it is on Spotify.
Nerdy Prudes Must Die: This is, for me, just on there for the sake that it is literally the song they share. That is the only reason it's on here. Also why it's the first song on here.
Take Me Back: This, however, I have no idea why it's on here! Nevermind, secret relationship michie; I'm an idiot. Okay, yeah, I think I can see it. Especially with them having regrets about keeping it a secret. Like, I'm listening to Tom's verse right now and it's like "oh, Max,, maybe you should've just openly loved Richie back thennn." Becky's verse now, okay. I see it a little less. I like the idea of 'i remember something someone asked me back in school,' being Max saying something like "if we could, would you go to prom with me," because of the following line; I think that's cute. Weirdly enough, I think this'll stay.
First Date/Last Night: Yes, I love this for them. Very cute, very nice. Derek Klena's character for max; perfect.
Blast From the Past: So, uh. I skipped this at first. Because I did not like it. This is the last song of these I've listened to because I am/was putting it off. But here we go i guess. Okay, it's not that bad. It kind of reminds me of Will Wood. But it also makes me realise that the musical Zombie Prom isn't the same as the Wizards of Waverly Place Episode, it seems to be about a single zombie who goes to prom. Which I guess makes sense. I'm keeping it, but it's like. That's all I got from it mostly.
Stupid With Love: So I technically added it, because the reprise was on it, I think it's a little silly to have on here, because I don't think Cady is much like Richie, but I think I'm keeping it for purely after (s)he meets Aron. Like, I've literally put that quote where Cady is essentially fantasising about him in tags about Richie and Max; feels wrong to not include it.
Stupid With Love Reprise: So, listening to it makes me nervous because I haven't actually watched all o Mean Girls the Musical, but it's fine. We're gonna do it anyway. Oh, wait, there's a BMC animatic of this, I've seen this, I'm stupid. Okay. I see why the og put it on here. It is very cute, I love it. I don't know enough about factorials to know if that's actually what you're supposed to do with them, and if it's not then it's hilarious. If it is, then it's like... well, I guess PJ did a good job tutoring Max.
Be Nice To Me: I like this song generally speaking, I never thought of it for Max and Richie, but I'm kind of into it. Like, I might do song fics with some of the songs from this playlist, and this is definitely a high high contender.
Two Birds: Thanks og, you mother fucker. I'm sad now. Luckily, I've already thought of them during this song so I can just skip it.... unluckily, it's already started playing and I can't turn it off now. Thems the rules.
Sex with a Ghost: I don't know why this is on there. It's obviously more of a Jagertity song, but I'm still going to listen to it with their context to see if I can figure it out. Okay, listening. I don't get it. I'll probably keep it because it fucking slaps, but i do not understand why it's on a michie playlist. The only thing I could see is like. 'The only time I ever see her is when she's behind me in the mirror," Because Richie dies in the locker room. But I dunno.
Daft Pretty Boys: I've never heard this song before, so. Right off the bat though, I'm dissapointed that it's not gay. The title makes it sound so gay, but immediately with the she/her pronouns. Maybe I should pull up the Genius Analysis so I can understand better, because I'm just confused. Okay, after checking Genius, I think I understand. I will be keeping it.
Beachboy: Another song I've listened to before, I'm excited to listen to it under Michie context. Like, I could type the lyrics along if I wanted to, I love this song. Yes, this is amazing. Aside from the fact that it's, again, straight, it's absolutely great.
Bloom: We begin the ones where I'm going to have to look up the english translations to these songs. Which I'm fine with, I've listened to all the BSD character songs. It's actually pretty fun to follow along, which is why I'm linking english translations through te name titles, which is why some of the have underlines and others don't. Anyway. HEY SORRY TO BUT IN! APPARENTLY THIS WAS IN SCOTT PILGRIM TAKES OFF! I LOVE SCOTT PILGRIM! ANYWAY BACK TO IT! Okay, upon reading the lyrics, I will say, it makes perfect sense that it was written for Scott Pilgrim, also that I rememer hearing it and taking note of what it was called because I liked it. Basically, on a surface level, it's like 'id like you no matter how many times you change your hair' but I think beneath that, as an overthinker, it's about loving someone even as they're going through changes in their life.
Necromantic: As much as it hurts to face the reality, I am glad that there are some songs on here that represent a realistic relationship for them, and this is definitely one of them. I think I would do a poor job on describing it, just look up the lyrics, you'll see.
Sihouette: Okay, reading the lyrics was a little harder bc I'm listening at home, and my family just got back home from Astronomy Club, so just bare with me. I think it's good, I think we'll be keeping it; I like it I think.
Kuchizuke Diamond: Oh I immediately love the vibes of this. I like this song so much for them that I didn't follow along with the lyrics, I read ahead; I love this. It's so cute for them.
Kawaikute gomen: I'm back and forth whether this applies to them, but it's funny enough that I don't even care. Like Stupid With Love and such. I definitely feel it for them, I just can't explain why.
Zenzenzense: This reminds me of Sonic. Not a bad thing, just a thing. I definitely love this song. It's "Now that we've finally met at galaxies' end, i don't know how to hold your hand so that I don't break it" that got me.
Nandemonaiya: Okay yeah. This got me at Verse 1
Kick Back: Oh my, I'm like flustered reading this. Definitely keeping it for them. Works for whichever pov imo.
Death By Glamour: I do not know why this is here, but as an undertale fan, I'm lowkey here for tho.
Uwa!! So Temperate: Again, I don't know why this is here. But it's like 45 seconds, it's whatever.
Murder On The Dancefloor
You & I: Any song from Bare is gonna make me sad, so I might take them off purely for that reason. But I need someone to cosplay Max with me so we can do a long form tiktok to this song. I'm willing to be Max, actually, yeah.
Best Kept Secret: Any song from Bare is gonna make me sad, so I might take them off purely for that reason. But I need someone to cosplay Max with me so we can do a long form tiktok to this song. I'm willing to be Max, actually, yeah.
This is where the song diverges into songs I've added! To continue, go to the post explaining why I've added those songs! To skip those songs, go to the post about songs that were suggested!

Hi I think a new w359 fic would be great! I think the w359 Fandom is always happy to get more content :D
well, thank you, anon :) tbqh i wasn't really aware that a fandom for it still existed--i started listening during season one and was very active in it up through the finale. i was even one of valenti's youtube mods for a bit. about six months after the finale it felt like the fandom had totally died, and i eventually lost touch with or was forced to cut ties with pretty much everyone i'd been friends with through the fandom. i guess it's still got a tiny post show fandom going, though.
having said that, i don't think i've ever had another fandom experience quite like wolf. i was in early and stuck around till the end, which i can't say of any other show really--i guess welcome to night vale? but that hasn't ended and doesn't really have much of a fandom anymore either. but it's hard to deny the incredible impact that wolf 359 had on me.
minlace was my first ever femslash ship and the first femslash pairing i ever wrote for. i think kepcobi was actually also the first slash pairing i ever wrote for, though it wasn't my first gay ship (cecilos). i had my trans awakening due to trans jacobi hcs and another aspec awakening because of ace maxwell hcs. but beyond the queer stuff the story just...spoke to me. it's so much. idk.
anyway it'll be real weird to look back at my writing for this fandom and pick something new; i've improved as a writer a lot since then, at least i think so, and my wolf stuff is like...holy shit was this actually me???
really, REALLY long answer to a simple ask--sorry!! but all this to say: yeah maybe i will write something again.

valentines day confessions
Tumblr media
characters: jjk (gojo, itadori, fushiguro, kugisaki, maki, inumaki, sukuna, nanami) x gn!reader
warnings: grammar errors, i wrote this while i was half asleep and i didn’t proofread so yea 😋😋
valentines day week masterlist <3
➥ day 2 ( febr 11 )
Tumblr media
GOJO
-as usual, he’s been teasing you all day
-you grew used to his playful nature so you didn’t really play attention to his flirting teasing
-“hey, y/n~ do you know why am i trying to get your attention this hard today?” he asked bending down to your eye-level with a smirk
-before you could even open your mouth, he answered himself “because it’s valentines day so get ready, we’re going out~~!! there’s a really cute café nearby, they serve the absolute best drinks!”
-he was so confident, that he forgot to ask if you like him anyways-🧍
-but ofc you did as he said cuz he’s gojo satoru.. sigh you could never resist his charms 😞😞
ITADORI
-he’s been following you around like a lost puppy all day
-he didn’t say a word and when you asked him if he needs anything he just stared at you and went ‘🥺’
-you were getting tired of it because he was fucking cute aND HHHHH but n e ways!!
-you decided to continue what you were doing until he stuttered out an “it’s valentines day,, i’m following you around cuz i wanna spend today with you”
-you were like ‘.. are you confessing to me rn?’ and he just nodded
-listen, he was so anxious!! but when you smiled and told him that you return his feeling, relief washed over yuuji so he wrapped you in a bone crashing hug
-pls love this precious boy ok :(
FUSHIGURO
-it takes a while for him to confess
-he wasn’t even sure that it was a good idea at first place,, but hey it’s valentines day!! he knew he wouldn’t do it any other time so he decided to go for it
-he has never done anything like this before so he just stood there and said “i like you”
-his expression didn’t change but the tip of his ears turned red (!!!!)
-you two were like “🧍‍♂️💬 🧍❓” for a few seconds
-he’s awkward asf but still best boy <333
KUGISAKI
-takes you out on a date before even confessing💀💀
-you two were shopping together and when you were returning home she said “this was pretty good for a first date”
-you were like ????
-“oh, yeah you didn’t even know this was a date,, well if you’re comfortable with the idea then we could be like.. a couple instead of friends” she glanced over at you
-nobara wouldn’t say ‘i love you’, she saves it for when you two are already dating for a while <3
MAKI
-she already tried to confess!! she dropped hints and made it way too obvious,, yet you didn’t seem to notice
-maki was sure that you just played dumb cuz you didn’t wanna outright reject her, but panda and inumaki convinced her to talk to you about her feelings
-and valentines day was the perfect opportunity!! she didn’t make a big deal out of it cuz as i said, she was prepared for a rejection
-she asked you to take a walk with her after training to which you happily agreed
-the first few minutes was spent in silence until she spoke up
-“you know it’s valentines day. uh,, i tried to tell you this for a while but i guess you didn’t take my hints so now i’m gonna say it” she looked at you with a serious expression “i like-,, love you.. i guess..”
-please save her, she became rly flustered but she tried to stay cool in front of you <33
INUMAKI
-omg poor boy didn’t know what to do at first
-since his vocabulary is limited, he decided to write you a little note instead!!
-his handwriting is rly neat and pretty.. and he put small :)’s and hearts on the end of the sentences
-“y/n! how are you today, on the 14 febr, valenties day? :) .. that wasn’t as smooth as i thought it would be, but nevermind!! i wanted to ask if you maybe want to hang out with me after training? if so, meet me in the hall <3 -inumaki ”
-HE ALSO DREW A SMALL ONIGIRI NEXT TO HIS NAME HHHHH
-he thought out a new onigiri ingredient and wrote it down on a small piece of paper, then he wrote it’s meaning next to it: ‘i love you’
-when you met him later he gave you the paper and babbled out the ingredients name blushingly
-stfu inumaki best boy 😞👍
SUKUNA
-“what? a day for lovers? that’s bullshit” he laughed
-he thought it’s so fucking dumb,, this is why he was confused when he saw you being all excited for valentines day
-but as the 14th february came, no one dared to ask you out since you literally ‘befriended’ the king of curses..?
-and to prevent you from the sorrow of not being asked out, sukuna thought he’ll be your knight in shining armor and save the day!
-he can’t let his human be sad about a bullshit like this!!
-“hey brat, you’re dating me from now on, happy valentines day”
-yea,, sukuna didn’t rly get the concept of ‘being romantic’ </3
NANAMI
-tbh he doesn’t give a damn about valentines day
-probably didn’t even know that it was celebrated that day, he just saw nice flowers on his way to have lunch with you, so he decided to buy them for you
-and if he brings you flowers he might as well tell you how he feels because it would be obvious anyways y’know?
-so he approaches the table you were sitting at and sits across from you, handing over the flowers
-“i bought them for you ‘cause they were pretty”
-he stares at you, watching your every movement and reaction, trying to decide whether or not it’s a good idea to confess
-“i’m not quite sure about my feelings for you, but i certainly know that i don’t see you as just a friend” he says casually as he takes off his glasses to clean them
-but ofc he was just trying to distract himself because he was a little embarrassed <33

Fic: Malex talk about their bubble.
[context: somewhere after season 3]
---
Michael woke up to Alex laying next to him.
He couldn't help but smile. The last couple of months have been full of happiness and undeniable joy.
Alex looked peaceful and Michael felt lucky.
Since Jones was gone, they never spent a night apart.
Even though Alex tends to wake up earlier than him, there are a few times Michael beats him to it.
When it's one of those days, Michael likes to take a few minutes just to look at Alex sleeping.
He knows it can be creepy but, after everything they went through, Michael still has a hard time believing this is actually his life now.
His life with Alex.
- You're staring - Alex said with his eyes still closed.
- How did you know that? - Michael asked surprised.
- It's a feeling, I guess. And also - Alex replied opening one of his eyes - I did the same thing just a few minutes ago.
Now with both of his eyes open, Alex had the biggest smile. Michael couldn't help but smile back just as big.
- Good morning - Michael leaned over and kissed Alex with a tenderness that was only meant for him.
- Good morning. Did you have a good night's sleep?
- U-hum - Michael nodded still with a big smile on his face - Actually, I've never slept better.
- Wonder why - Alex grinned.
- A mystery - Michael teased in reply as he touched Alex's face and pulled him in for one more kiss.
- Wait.
Suddenly Alex stopped as he remembered something important.
- What time is it? - He turned around quickly to grab his phone on the nightstand - Damn it.
Michael could tell the disappointment in his voice.
- What is it?
- I missed a call from Kyle. His shift ended... half-hour ago. I was supposed to meet up with him for coffee. He knows how early I wake up and I texted him yesterday that I would buy him breakfast this morning.
- Should I be jealous? - Michael asked. Alex looked at him not amused. Michael noticed how upset Alex really was - Hey, honest mistake. He'll get it.
- I just, I promised him I'd be there.
Michael let out a laugh.
- What?
- If somebody would've told me years ago that Alex Manes would be Kyle Valenti's best friend, I would call 'em crazy.
- He's my best friend too, ya know. But as of right now, he's feeling a bit best friendless. I mean, you and I have spent all of our free time together since Jones.
- You don't like to spend time with me? - Michael tried to sound offended.
- Of course I do, babe. But I think Kyle is feeling a bit neglected. Not only him. Haven't you miss out on dinners with your siblings too?
Michael rolled his eyes but he understood what Alex was trying to say.
- I like us. - Michael replied almost as a whisper - This. Right here. It's our bubble. I can't help but feel protective over it.
- I love our bubble, too. - Alex stroke Michael's cheek and after a few long seconds, he continued - But, maybe, we don't need to protect it from the people that love us. Our friends, family, we can let them in a bit, don't you think?
Michael looked at Alex and let out a sigh.
- Fine.
Michael took his phone and sent out a text. Alex didn't understand but soon enough, his phone got an alert.
Michael 🤠💜: Breakfast at the Crashdown in half hour. Be there.
Alex smiled at the short, but meaningful text Michael had just sent to their group chat.
- Thank you - Alex kissed Michael with so much love - And you know, this, right here, I'm always gonna protect it, too.
-----
Half hour later, Michael and Alex arrived at the Crashdown where Kyle, Isobel, Max and Liz were waiting for them.
- Are those people Alex Manes and Michael Guerin? Because it has been so long that I'm not sure I recognize them.
- Good question, Iz. - Kyle agreed.
- HA HA, very funny - Michael answered.
- So, are you gonna tell us you are engaged or something? - Liz asked.
Michael and Alex looked at each other and smile fondly about the idea.
- Not yet - Alex replied - Actually, we wanted to have breakfast with our family.
And that they did.

welcome to another "I wrote this at work ignore the typos" situation featuring content in the little teaser for s3
ao3
"Michael Guerin with a cup of tea. Interesting."
"Bettering myself with soothing beverages," Michael said, leaning back in his chair as he looked up at Alex. He still felt a little off kilter, but he had no intention of guilt tripping Alex. It was a work in progress. He was a work in progress.
"Is that a quote from self proclaimed life coach Isobel Evans?" Alex asked, cocking his head to the side and smiling. Michael felt dizzy with it. It'd been so long without that fucking smile.
"How'd you know?" Michael asked, trying to keep the conversation light and not let it drift to an antagonistic place. He was good at that. Unfortunately, he was less good at keeping that at bay. "Where's the boyfriend?" Work in progress.
"He couldn't stick around, had to get to a meeting. He just met me at the bus stop," Alex said. Michael nodded and only then let his eyes drift away from his face, giving him a quick once over and tried not to be greedy with it. He still had his bags. "Is this seat taken?"
"Yeah," Michael said, casual as possible because Alex deserved that, "Saving it for this guy I met a few years back. You might know him. Around my height, dark hair, nice biceps, used to be in the army, killer thighs–literally, I almost suffocated me once."
"Shut up," Alex laughed, sitting across from him, "And I wasn't in the army."
"Same evil."
"Fair enough," Alex said, clasping his hands together and leaning forward, "Man, what's a guy gotta do around here to get a drink?"
Michael absolutely did not get his hopes up about this.
"Just sit there and look pretty," Michael said, pushing himself to his feet.
He'd been working a little harder and getting Sanders to make the place look a bit nicer in the front so new comers would show up, both resulting in everyone making more money. It was the most money Michael had ever had saved up before and he barely knew what to even do with it. He'd never wanted it before, never wanted to act like he was here to stay, but now it was there and now he could pay for Alex's drink.
He allowed himself to feel a little good about himself for that.
He order a medium vanilla latte, extra vanilla and an extra shot of expresso like he'd seen Alex order when they were a younger. Before he was a complete fuck up. Before when ordering anything but black coffee felt rebellious. And he paid for him for the first time. And he absolutely wasn't prideful bringing it back.
The look on Alex's face said he was also aware that this was the first time he could afford to buy him something so trivial, but he wasn't going to say anything because he was Alex. He took a sip as Michael sat across from him again and he smiled with a tiny bit of foam gracing his top lip. Michael felt his chest constricting with some twisted sort of pride and he refused to let himself be embarrassed by it.
"Thank you," Alex said.
"No problem."
Then they lapsed into silence, drinking their respective drinks and staring. Alex never turned his head away like he usually did; Michael never broke the silence like he usually did. None of it was awkward or uncomfortable or tense. It was just... having non-alcoholic drinks with someone he loved in whatever sense of the word he could.
It was nice. It was easy. It was something so completely different than Michael knew what to do with.
He craved more.
"So, do you need a ride to your house so you don't have to walk with all that?" Michael asked, definitely not mentioning that Forrest at the very least could've taken it. Granted, there's a chance he offered and Alex declined, which would be very much like Alex, but still. If he can kiss him, he can help with his bags.
"Depends. Are you willing to drive out to the middle of nowhere?"
"So that was a sold sign," Michael said. Alex took a deep breath and nodded.
"Yeah. It was a nice house, but it didn't really feel like home, you know? And after everything..."
"No, I get it," Michael said, nodding, "So where are you staying now?"
"Old Valenti hunting cabin. My cut of the inheritance and what I'm getting for selling my house is gonna be used on making it decent," Alex said.
"And amping up the security system," Michael added. Alex grinned and nodded.
"And amping up the security system."
"Well, it's my day off, so I can definitely take you," Michael said, not saying he took the day off specifically to meet Alex. That wasn't necessary information.
"You don't have to."
"What if I want to?" Michael asked. Alex looked at him, still smiling but he was clearly a little wary. "Just let me help out. I'm even going to try to not make you feel bad about the boyfriend."
"Oh, well, thank you so much for your efforts," Alex said sarcastically, but his tone was light and his smile was even more so, "But you really don't mind?"
"Alex, it's the least I can do," Michael said. It sounded weird in his voice, but it felt right. Alex seemed to agree if the look on his face said anything. Michael was more than a little proud of himself for not second guessing himself or assuming the worst.
Maybe he actually did do some growing.
"Okay then. Let's go."
Having Alex in his truck again didn't feel real. He was giddy in a way he hadn't felt in awhile and the fact that his bags were on the floor and not between them made that feeling skyrocket. Alex was comfortable with him. Or, at least, he seemed to be.
"Did you have fun?" Michael asked. Alex huffed a laugh.
"Well, I mean, I was doing dirty work, so not really. Forrest met me a couple times but I never wanted him to stay too long, was way too dangerous," Alex said, turning in his seat to face him.
"When I came out there with Kyle, you let me stay awhile," Michael said. He wasn't bragging. Absolutely not. He was simply useful for the task at hand and Kyle had to get back to work. Them eating take out on a hotel room floor and staying up too late was just convenient, a secret little addition to the trip.
"Yeah, but I trust you not to get killed by accident," Alex said, "Forrest had a good childhood. He's not at all aware of his surroundings like you are."
"Good for him," Michael said, readjusting his grip on the steering wheel. Alex may or may not have noticed.
"Also," he said slowly, "I'm kinda getting spoiled with the telekinesis thing, I'm not gonna lie."
Michael bit the inside of his cheek and tried not to be unnecessarily happy with that.
"Well if you ever need to make use of it, I'm your man," Michael said. Alex hummed in response–Michael couldn't tell if it was an acknowledgment or agreement.
It was around a 45 minute drive to the Valenti hunting cabin and the trip there was a bunch of small, winding, hand-made paths. You couldn't find it if you didn't know it was there. It was perfect for Alex.
Michael helped him get his bags inside and took in the fact that most of the stuff that had been in his house wasn't present. The furniture was broken in and there were a few boxes around, but not enough to hold everything from his house.
"I need a change," Alex said, going to the breaker box to turn the electricity on, "I thought that when I came back the first time that would be my big change, but I just did more of the same shit. So this is a real change."
"Sounds like it'd be good for you," Michael agreed.
"Yeah," Alex sighed, looking around. His eyes eventually landed on Michael again. "Do you have to go?"
"No, not unless you want me to," Michael said. Alex nodded.
"Move some boxes for me, telekinesis boy?" he asked. Michael grinned.
"Sure."
The spent what felt like two hours rearranging and unpacking and cleaning, Alex encouraging him to show off in a way that felt so ridiculously good. Everything about this was good. Spending time with him without expectation and tension and time limits.
He loved him more than his body had space for.
"Michael!" Alex said, immediately followed by a laugh, "You're going to break something!"
"I won't, have faith," Michael said, pulsing with the attention, "And if I do, I'll fix it."
He twisted his wrist, manuvering the fully put together bed frame through the door with his mind. It bumped into the door frame once or twice, but Alex just laughed and lightly scolded him.
Later, once they did what they could and got settled, Michael found himself on Alex's back porch with cans of coke in hand instead of beer.
"I love the view," Michael said.
"There's deer that'll get close if you're quiet," Alex said, "You'll have to sit with me to see them sometime."
"Yeah, whenever you'll have me," Michael said.
"Whenever you want," Alex responded. He sounded like he meant it.
Him meaning it didn't stop his phone from lighting up, didn't stop the way Alex's face closed off, didn't stop the way he sighed and locked it back. He took a long sip of his drink before he spoke.
"Forrest is on his way," Alex said. Michael shifted in his seat and nodded.
"So I should go."
"Do you have work tomorrow?" Alex asked instead of saying leave, instead of saying stay.
"Yep, bright and early."
"Okay," Alex said, "If I bring my truck up there in the morning, do I get privileges where I can sit with you in the back while you look over it and tell me what I need to fix after it sitting in my yard for nine months?"
Michael swallowed the lump that rose in his throat. He was leaving, he had to go because it wasn't his place to stay right now. But there was a promise of tomorrow. Of spending more time together just because.
The privilege of it, Alex said.
"Absolutely," Michael said, standing up, "I'll squeeze you in."
"Cool. I appreciate it," Alex said, looking up at him with a smile, "And I appreciate you helping me out today. Made all of that a lot easier."
"Not a problem," he said, "So I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Wait," Alex said quickly, getting himself to his feet and coming closer. Without much of a warning about what exactly was coming, Alex wrapped his arms around his neck. Michael hugged him back easily.
Alex squeezed him; Michael squeezed back.
"I'm so glad you're back," Michael whispered against him.
"I've gotta come home at some point, right?" Alex whispered back. Michael nodded.
They held on for longer than they should.
"Alright," Alex said after awhile, letting go with a reluctance Michael wasn't so unfamiliar with it ached, "I'll see you in the morning. I'll bring food."
Michael didn't like to get his hopes up.
He decided not to be scared this time.

Soulmate 30 or 50 for Malex
30. Every so often you will get flashes of what your soulmate is seeing at the time, however your soulmate does not know when it happens.
started under neon lights and then it all got dark
Alex has been seeing flashes of color since he was a child. What happens when he realizes those flashes are because his soulmate is an alien?
Alex is five the first time he speaks about the colorful flashes he keeps seeing. He doesn’t remember much else from back then, but he remembers his mom telling him to never tell his father.
The swirls of pink, orange, and purple, becoming his only form of solace for years, the colors confusing but comforting.
His brothers laugh at him when he colors the swirls on paper, trying to recreate the egg-like shapes he thinks he can see.
But he doesn’t care.
Alex is seven when the colors stop and he starts seeing other people for the first time.
He thinks he recognizes Mrs. Valenti at some point but he thinks better of saying something to Kyle, after all his mom told him not to tell anyone.
Alex is eleven when he gets confirmation that his soulmate lives close by when he sees The Crashdown.
He thinks over the years that he can see classmates and classrooms that are familiar but he can ever figure out who his soulmate is.
Alex is seventeen when he finally figures out who his soulmate is.
It isn’t until after he sees his guitar on a pair of dusty jeans and a football field with a blue truck in the background that he knows.
Michael Guerin.
Throughout the years they’ve both seen flashes of more painful things; their childhoods, Alex’s time in the service, Michael’s many one night stands, Alex’s injury.
They’ve learned to ignore the flashes for the most part. Easier when they’re separated from each other. Harder when they’re back together in Roswell.
Like now.
Alex gets off the bus and smiles at Forrest. Just as they break their kiss, Alex gets a front row seat to what can only be one person’s view of them kissing.
Alex turns his head at the last second but he just misses Michael because he’s nowhere to be found.
Later, when Alex tearfully watches the bus drive off with Forrest on it, Alex doesn’t need the flashes to know that Michael’s behind him.
He’s pleased that when he turns around he can see Michael leaning against the wall with one leg bent against the brick and his cowboy hat on.
“So, Deep Sky?” Michael doesn’t beat around the bush and Alex can only guess it’s because he saw Forrest’s ring at some point.
“I was going to tell you,” Alex responds quietly, not bothering to hide the tears he can feel against his eyes.
Michael shrugs like he doesn’t care but Alex knows better.
“C’mon.” Michael walks away but Alex can see his blue truck tucked into an alleyway. Michael let’s the tailgate down and Alex smiles when he sees the familiar bag of fries and a chocolate milkshake.
“You just knew I’d be here, huh?” Alex asks as he dips a fry in the milkshake, moaning a little at the flavor.
“Didn't know for sure if you were getting on the bus or not but I figured you’d be here one way or another.”
“You didn’t know for sure?”
Michael shrugs but stays silent.
“It’s not easy to stay behind when there’s something bigger than you going on,” Alex says after a moment.
Michael flinches and Alex feels very little satisfaction.
“I want to do this, Michael.”
Michael looks at him again and Alex passes him some fries.
“I think, no, I need to know what else was going on. Not just with my dad but for you, too.”
“You think they know about us?”
“I think they know about the crash, I think they know about Caulfield.” Alex shakes his head as Michael hangs his. “Jesse was operating with military money, my mom’s family money couldn’t have bank rolled all of that. I need to know.”
“There’s more to the story.”
“Isn’t there always?” Alex retorts.
Michael hums and Alex thinks back to his argument with Forrest earlier, thinks back to the things Michael could’ve possibly seen.
“I won’t be gone forever.”
Michael shrugs, again. “It’s for a good reason, I think.”
“You don’t sound so sure,” Alex whispers. He wants to be sure. He wants Michael to be sure.
“I’m never going to be happy with someone researching us, but if you think this will help, then yeah, I’m sure.”
“I think we need to give it a chance.” Alex smirks. “Plus it gives me an honorable discharge.”
“No more uniform?”
“Don’t sound so broken up about it.” Alex chuckles and Michael smiles. It’s Alex’s favorite smile, the one that lights up his whole face. One he’s seeing more often than he used to.
They both stop laughing and Alex let’s the silence wash over them.
“You fixed your hair for me,” Alex says after a moment.
“Was wondering if you saw that.”
“Mmm. You look nice. I like the sweater.”
“I like the converse.” Michael blushes slightly.
“Yeah? Me, too.” Alex smiles.
Alex knows they need to talk. They need to talk about the fact that they’re soulmates, they need to talk about the fact that they’ve hurt each other, that they’ve been there for each other. They need to talk about Project Shephard, and Max, but for now, Alex just wants to sit next to Michael and enjoy the night.
Michael starts humming next to him and Alex smiles when he realizes the song melody. The same song Alex sang at The Wild Pony all those months ago. When things were simpler.
Alex is just about to join him when they see the lights flicker at The Crashdown.
“What the?” Michael asks just as they hear a crash.
“Shit, let’s go.” Alex pulls himself off the truck bed as they make their way to The Crashdown.
Michael opens the lock quietly with his telekinesis and they’re both shocked and yet unsurprised to find Rosa standing over an unconscious Wyatt Long.
“Shit. Are you okay?” Alex asks as he makes his way over to Rosa.
“Yeah, just…” Rosa looks down at Wyatt and Michael sighs.
“I’ll help you move the body.”

Michael Trevino Talks The CW’s ‘Roswell, New Mexico’
So first off, what was your reaction to finding out you’d be doing that time jump this season? Michael Trevino: For Kyle, I think jumping — I mean yeah, time has passed, right? And I think whenever you start a new season, we always ask that. We’re like, “Well, how much time has passed? Where are we starting from? Has as my character been here, been there?” So this is one of those seasons where yes, time has passed, kind of a restart, reboot and it’s fresh. I think our first episodes were showing people in their different dynamics and kind of briefly alluded to what they’ve been up to, and that’s always nice.
I had the chance to see episode nine early and really enjoyed it. What can you preview for the fans about what this episode has in store for them? I feel that episode nine is a turning point for Kyle. Kyle, as we all know, is there for everybody, whenever he can be. He seems to be the one that they go to. He’s always putting out fires, I keep saying that but it’s true. Whenever there’s a problem, Kyle’s there for you. And I think this episode is kind of where — not that he’s reached a limit, but it’s taken a toll on him and we get a very frustrated, little angsty Kyle for good reason, I feel. I think that that frustration is a bit earned after everything, but we are going to find out in 3×09, as we’ve been finding out, a bit more about who Jim Valenti was, who was Kyle’s father, who is Eduardo, what is Deep Sky about, and it’s going to kind of jumpstart Kyle for the rest of the season. It’s a big episode for him because he finally makes a decision on, “Okay, enough is enough. This is how I feel about this and this is what we’re doing next.”
How was it for you to play with that sort of stroyline as an actor? As you said, it is such an important point for him. Well, I gotta be honest, I just saw the episode and I’m coming in hot! I’m coming in real hot and in the moment I didn’t think it was that hot, but damn, we’re there. And so I think it’s fine because I get a lot of feedback, which is great, that Kyle is such a good guy and “I like his character, he’s there for everybody.” That’s nice, right? So I feel like after three seasons of that, to see Kyle a bit over it with what’s going on and everything that he’s being told, new information, more new information, I think it works. For me, you try to find those moments of like, “Okay, can I keep being there for everybody,” or at some point I’m going to be like, “Okay, I’m done,” right? Or “I can only do this much.” He’s never going to turn his back on people, but in this episode we see him a little frustrated.
Fans love the show, what does it mean to you when you go on social media or meet fans in person and hear their response to your work? It’s great. It’s a beautiful feeling because we’re currently filming season four and that’s rare for a series to really last that long, to build these characters, and to still have these interesting storylines. So, to know that people are still engaged in these characters and the story that we’re telling, they’re still tuning in, it’s nice. What makes it even more special this season is because we’re watching season three right now, but we’re currently at the same time filming season four. Through the scheduling it just worked out that way, but it’s almost instant feedback and it’s also an instant reminder of “Okay, where have we been? What have we done?” So we feel closer to the story, which is great for us as actors, but sometimes it’s not that way. You’ll see something and be like, “Oh yeah, we shot that a year ago. Where am I coming from? Where are we headed,” and you want to track these stories but right now I’m just thankful for everybody that’s continuing to watch and who’s invested in these characters.
The show was picked up for a season four ahead of season three even premiering, which was so amazing to see. What was your reaction when you heard the news? I was genuinely surprised because usually you don’t get a pickup until at least the season has aired or the season is four or five episodes in, but I guess because in the year COVID and the delay, the network was able to see all these episodes and see the ones that we’ve done already. It’s great feedback. I think that we have something special happening here in Santa Fe, New Mexico with this crew, this cast, and our writers back in LA, who are back to visiting us on set per their episode. Everybody’s still invested. It’s a great feeling because we’re all here, we’re happy to be here, grateful to be telling these stories and working, and we’d like to continue.
What has been your favorite storyline of the season so far that fans have already seen? I think — okay, well, to answer that on what we’ve already seen, I did like and enjoy the scenes with Kyle and Michael. Those were fun to shoot. I get along great with Mr. Michael Vlamis and it’s always fun to be in scenes with him because, as we know, Michael Guerin is a bit of a wild card. With that, Mr. Michael Vlamis on the day is able to be a little bit unpredictable and I like that. I like performing with him and feeding off of what he’s bringing. He always keeps it fresh and new in each take. So, I like those scenes with him
I know you can’t tell me too much, but what can you tease about the rest of season three? The rest of season three, I feel now that Jones is really flexing on us, we have this bit of the Avengers assembling right in Roswell, like everybody having to come together, everybody has a job, and it’s to really take care of Jones and get him out of here. So I think that’s really what the rest of these episodes are going to be about.
I love that metaphor you did. It’s perfect. It really is because it’s like from season one to season three, we’re all separate. Now, it’s like, “Okay, we have to join forces to handle this guy.” And that’s what we’re gonna see.
You filmed season three with the COVID pandemic and now you’re filming season four with those safety precautions since the pandemic is still going on. What did it feel like for you to wrap season three with those circumstances, but then also come back for season four? Well, I have to give it to our producers, really, because everybody in the world had to pivot. We all had to make changes in our lives and I think the changes that have been made to keep everybody — crew, catering, casting, post production, accounting, whoever — safe on set, there’s been some different rules and it’s kept everybody safe. I’m proud to say we didn’t have to shut down once in season three. Unfortunately, there’s other productions that had to, but up here in Santa Fe, no. We were just lucky or we followed the rules, I don’t know but we were great and we were able to keep to our schedule, not have to shut down, and now we’re back for season four and we know what to expect. So things are running smoothly and there hasn’t been any problem. I’m just happy, glad, and grateful that we’re able to still tell the stories.
What is your personal favorite dynamic (friendship or relationship) when it comes to Kyle? I’m going to say that I want to see more Kyle and Isobel. I think that Isobel brings out a different side of Kyle whenever they’re in scenes or have interactions with one another. I’d like to lean more into that storyline for whatever it may be, I just want them to have more interaction because I think Kyle acts a different way around her. She’s just such a big ball of energy, so I think that would be fantastic and I would want to see more of that.
I know you’re probably not going to be able to give me too much on this, but I have to ask you, what was your reaction when you read the scripts for season four? Well, my reaction is a kind of going off of my last answer, Kyle ends up having more storyline with Isobel and it’s nice to see that play out. And so far, it’s been refreshing to see them in scenes together. I will tease this: so far in season four, the scenes that are with Kyle and Isobel have a comedic feeling to them. I feel like their scenes are fun and funny to shoot, but there’s a comedic element to it.
Is there any other show that you are personally a fan of and would like to see Roswell, New Mexico do a crossover with? Oh damn, that’s a great question. Off the top of my head, we’re gonna have a Roswell, New Mexico and The X-Files crossover event. This episode is going to air right after the Super Bowl and millions of people are going to watch it. It’s going to be Scully and Mulder pulling up to Roswell, New Mexico and Kyle will be there to greet them.
Is there a memory that sticks out to you as a memorable moment from filming season three? Oh gosh, it’s our season finale, it has to be our season finale. I can’t give away too much, but like I said about as far as Avengers assembling, it’s those scenes when we’re all on set together. It’s the season finale, we’re in Santa Fe in the middle of February and March, it’s freezing, it’s like 10 degrees outside, we’re getting the exterior night shoots that we need, and we’re all in. It’s not even just the cast, it’s the crew, it’s everybody. We’re just trying to get the final shot done of the season and we are working against all the elements. It’s a bit chaotic but it’s organized — organized chaos, that’s what it is. Those feelings are you got to get the job done and that’s what we do. I mean, we all know Jones is the big bad and everybody’s gonna have to get involved to take care of him and we see that in our last episode. Those scenes are really fun to shoot. They were challenging but I think it’s gonna come together well and it’ll be a strong finish for us.
If you could create a tagline or a phrase of your own to describe Kyle as a character, what would you pick? Kyle Valenti: I’m there if you need me.

For the first line meme: It's later than he thought when the knock on the door interrupts another night of staring at the computer screen.
the heart is a muscle - post season 2, mentions of forlex , getting back together malex fic for you dear @jule1122, and @haloud, and @christchex.
It's later than he thought when the knock on the door interrupted another night of staring at the computer screen.
Mr. Jones and his last words to Michael, before he was forced back into stasis, still haunted him. “You really think there was just one ship? We were in formation, kid. What you should ask yourself is, where did everyone else go? Did they just keep zippin’ on their way to the colony? Or did they stop and take a gander at this planet and what they did to the survivors?”
The tiny bit of hope that this Max-lookalike psychopath didn’t represent the last of his species, had Michael diving back into his research behind the crash of 1947. The online conversations about Roswell had moved on to other topics since Michael had abandoned the message boards in the wake of Caulfield, but with some effort, he had found new threads detailing neighborhood folklore regarding newcomers with eerie talents, like the ability to grow food in droughts. Stories that peppered all over the world. Stories that might mean an alien colonist on Earth.
The thirst for knowledge about his planet and his people would never leave him, even if the actual urge to go had quieted down into just a soft whisper. Life was finally good in Roswell. After the mind games of Mr. Jones, Michael could admit now that he did have a family here, even if they weren’t related by blood. Sanders, Arturo, Mimi, Michelle Valenti had all stepped in at various times to offer a guiding hand to him, or just a quiet nod of reassurance that he was valued. Max and Isobel would always be his siblings, but now he could count Liz, Rosa, Kyle, and even awkwardly in their new friendship, Maria, as extended his family now.
It didn’t escape Michael that not even in his thoughts could he attribute his feelings for Alex as brotherly. There was still a vacant place at the head of Michael’s overflowing table of family for a partner, a spouse. That somehow, the seat even as other people came and went, only seemed to fit Alex.
Except they were still just friends.
Another knock, more impatient this time, rattled the Airstream’s door. Michael sat up, placing his ancient laptop on the counter and rolled off his bed to get to his feet. His life was had changed so much in the last couple of years that he had enough people in it, friends, who dropped by his trailer at all hours of the day, not just Isobel, that he couldn’t even guess the identity of the visitor.
Backlit from the auto yard’s security lights, stood Alex Manes holding a cardboard drink holder from ‘Bean Me Up’.
“Alex,” Michael greeted, a smile already at his lips. He glanced at the coffee and back to Alex, “Couldn’t wait until tomorrow I take it?” This was part of the new normal for Michael, meeting Alex for coffee, three or four mornings a week. It was something that had grown out of a happy coincidence, Alex’s gym was near the Boys and Girls Club that Michael volunteered at, serving breakfast in the mornings and tutoring kids in math in the afternoon.
Same place at the same time, once, then twice, became a standard thing. Not a date. Just, taking advantage of the mutual collision to talk. And at first, it was awkward to share news with each other, like Alex’s dating experiences with Forrest or Michael’s attempts to recover his memories of his planet, but later things had softened into a routine. Order coffee, find a small table, and then spend the next hour playfully fending off Alex’s attempts to foist food on Michael’s side of the table while also stealing sips of his caramel lattes.
Perhaps one day Alex would realize that Michael had only ordered the ridiculously sweet coffee drinks because he knew that was what Alex preferred to drink. It was still a damn toxic hold over from Jesse Manes that Alex still persisted in ordering black coffee with no sugar. Dating Forrest might have helped Alex be open with his sexuality, there were still lessons for Alex to learn in being gentle with himself, Michael observed. The act of indulging in pleasures, instead of engaging in deprivation, it was something he struggled with as well.
In the meantime, Michael could at least help Alex in this small way, letting him ‘steal’ his lattes.
“Alex?” Something about Michael had robbed Alex of all speech as he just stared up at Michael in response, still holding the drinks dumbly in his hands. “Are you okay? What’s wrong-”
The switch from teasing to urgent concern finally snapped Alex out of his apparent stupor. “Right, nothing, um, just- since when do you wear glasses?”
Michael’s hand went to his face automatically, realizing belatedly that he was still wearing his reading glasses. He started to pull them off, blushing in embarrassment, when Alex blurted out, “They look good! On you. The glasses. Um great even.”
“Oh.” Now that. Michael did not know what to do with that.
In the yellow-wash of light, Alex was clearly the same man from yesterday’s coffee visit physically. His soft mouth was there, but it came with his standard closed expression that he must have picked up abroad, wearing it now as Michael’s least favorite souvenir. His posture was the same too, forever changed from losing his leg, straight-backed and rigid but just then, he was someone Michael hadn’t seen in a long time. That awkward stuttering response was Alex Manes, the seventeen-year-old boy who had whipped off his visor nervously in the museum, the same boy who touched with soft gliding palms newly revealed skin before snatching his hands away at the first sign that it was unwelcome.
Aware that it was his turn to stare at Alex, Michael forced himself to smile naturally, “I guess not even my alien physiology can beat back the glare of a computer screen. I forgot I had them on.”
“Did I interrupt something? I can go if you want,” Alex stopped, probably hearing the past echo between them but not in the benign way of before. “Or I can stay and help, even if it’s with surprise coffee?” This time he lifted the tray up between them, an offer or a barricade of politeness, Michael wasn’t sure.
“I’m looking for other survivors,” Michael admitted, before looking down to avoid Alex’s sharpened gaze of interest. “On the internet, obviously, since I don’t think I can trust that I could sense them with my mind.”
It was clear that Alex hadn’t forgotten any of the various tactics Jones had employed against them, but Michael in particular. A frequent repeated taunt was about how damaged their psychic abilities were for adults, to the point no one had sensed Caulfield, but that from his pod prison Jones could hear Nora calling for help nightly right until the end. The twisted knife of how Michael had grown up waiting for someone to save him. Alex pursed his lips to object, “Michael-”
“Jones was full of shit about a lot,” Michael assured him quickly, “but I think he was right about the ships, that it wasn’t just one that crashed. I’m just combing through stories, basically internet mythology, looking for clues about strangers who might have some sort of power. It’s a lot of ‘world’s biggest cucumber’ stories right now, but hey, come in, you’re the computer genius and I could use your help and your coffee.” He placed his hands on the coffee holder, carrying it for Alex and backed away from the steps to let Alex have as much room as possible to navigate the cumbersome metal steps into the Airstream.
The seating area of the Airstream had been folded away and stored in order to make room for the drying rack of his clothes from laundry day, leaving only his narrow bed for seating. Michael had half-a-minute’s pause in reconsideration. They could relocate outside to his fire pit with the cheap camp chairs, and sit pressed together elbow-to-elbow around the dim screen of the laptop between them. Or. Or they could squeeze together on his bed, a place where that sort of contact between them had always led to sex. What was the safer option for their friendship?
His heart always strayed too far from the safety of his bones when it came to Alex.
Ignoring his pounding pulse, he grabbed the coffee cup marked “Alex” and pulled it to his lips to drink and made a gesture to the bed. At least he had made the bed up earlier with clean linens, the spread was neatly tucked into the corners, almost military sharp. That made it feel slightly less risqué to him than inviting Alex into warm mussed sheets that reeked of Michael’s skin. That rain and bourbon scent that Alex had pointed out.
“Um, your coffee was the other one.” Alex picked up the abandoned cup marked with a ‘M’ and followed him over to the bed.
“No, I’m drinking the coffee I always end up with. Your black tar juice.”
Alex smiled slightly, caught out by the observation before gingerly sitting next to Michael as Michael scooted over toward the wall of the Airstream. “Yeah, I guess I do end up stealing yours.” He brought his left leg up easily on the mattress and then passed his coffee cup over to Michael’s waiting hands as he brought his prosthetic up with both hands for balance. The smile faded, as Alex reclaimed the ‘M’ cup to sip from deep in thought as he seemed to review the history of their morning encounters. “I’m sorry-”
“Alex, come on,” he teased leaning his shoulder against Alex’s. “You haven’t caught on by now? I only order that sugar monstrosity because I know you won’t let yourself do it. I don’t even like caramel that much.”
“What? Come on, that’s what you ordered that first time-”
“I ordered that for the director at the community center.” Michael placed his coffee on the window of the Airstream and concentrated on bringing the laptop back up to rest on his knees between them not daring to look at Alex. He would never be able to confess the next bit and see Alex’s too-expressive gaze at the same time. But. As he had reminded himself earlier, he needed to work on indulging in pleasures as well, not just holding on to the pylon weight of depriving himself, of never believing he was worthy of good things. And being Alex’s friend was that. A pleasure. A good thing. The best thing.
“Once I saw you though, I kinda forgot the errand I was on in the first place. Then, I might have gone back at the same time the next day. And the day after that. For reasons.” He glanced to the side, meeting Alex’s wide eyes briefly before turning back to the laptop. “So I guess it's my turn to apologize? I might have had an agenda.”
It was quiet between them, as Michael clicked through a few different forums. He wasn’t paying any attention to where his cursor landed, he just kept scrolling through window after window as a distraction because the urge to pull back, to crack a joke, to do anything but let Alex process in silence was hard to suppress but needed. That was a part of becoming friends, learning that Alex needed extra time to formulate a response, something that came from needing to shut all emotional responses off during a drone operation at work.
“Me too,” Alex replied softly. “About the agenda. I mean, I don’t even have a membership at that gym.”
Michael frowned, the words not making any sense to him.
“That first time was dumb luck, I mean, I stopped in that morning because I had stayed the night at Forrest’s for the first time and I found out he doesn’t drink coffee. Doesn’t even own a coffee maker.” Alex scoffed quietly, before leaning against Michael affectionately, “I should have known that it was doomed from the start, just on coffee alone but what really put the nail in the coffin was the fact I pretended to go to that gym for two months because I had a bag of clothes with me when you saw me.”
“That was your clothes from staying over with him,” Michael said slowly, almost to himself, before he frowned even deeper as the connections fell into place. He didn’t know whether he wanted to laugh or not, but this was a new level of avoidance of an awkward subject for Alex.  It did make sense considering the timing, and maybe that was why he was confessing now to Michael because not that Michael allowed himself to show it, the early days of Alex’s relationship with the historian were difficult for him. He didn’t begrudge Alex being happy or being with someone else, but there was still an old, gnarled bit of Michael’s heart that pinched painfully at seeing the romance play out for everyone in Roswell to see. “Alex, I know you guys are dating, you didn’t have to lie about that and pretend you had gone to that gym.”
“Were dating,” Alex patiently corrected. “Pay attention, Michael. I just said it was doomed from the start.”
“Because he didn’t drink coffee?”
“Because I was engaging in a deep cover operation that involved a fake gym membership, rescheduling my appointments to the afternoon and blocking out time in my mornings all, so I could see you.” The gears were still turning too slowly for Alex’s liking as he rolled his eyes at Michael and continued, “I ended it with Forrest about a month ago. Or well, he ended it with me because I was always too busy in the morning for breakfast and I never wanted to stay over at his.”
Michael blinked, then looked down at his laptop. The ancient fan and processor were making a soft whine of effort, much like his own brain at the moment. Alex was single. Alex has been single for over a month. A month where he didn’t mention it once during their get-togethers.
Alex exhaled slowly, draining the latte before placing the cup out of range. “I’m really trying to use my words here, but you have exactly one minute to understand what I’m saying before I have to get creative-”
“Are you saying that you-”
“Yes-”
“Still want me?”
“I never stopped,” Alex reached for Michael’s hand, stilling the rapid clicking. “I came here because I wanted to be honest with you. It occurred to me that somewhere along the line, those meetups for coffee had basically become the most important part of my day. I … I was turning them into dates in my head. With you.” He licked his lips, his eyes drifting down to Michael’s mouth, causing Michael to bite his own lip in response. The anticipation between them thickened, until Alex groaned softly, his head briefly ducking toward Michael’s. “In the past, I’ve been guilty of thinking we were on the same page, and we weren’t, so I’m- Michael, I will still be your friend no matter what, but I want-”
This time, Michael didn’t let him finish and closed the scant distance between them on the bed to kiss Alex. The laptop fell to the side of their legs as Alex surged into it, pushing Michael down flat on the mattress in his eagerness. Michael opened for Alex, letting him have whatever he wanted and buried his fingers in the soft, black hair as they traded kisses.
Suddenly, a bubble of laughter burst from Michael’s chest, the lightness of the situation that felt almost too good to be real spread through his veins. “Oh my god, you brought me coffee to tell me that getting coffee together wasn’t just getting coffee for you, Alex-”
“Shut up!”
“You need a new job, nothing in intel, sweetheart-”
“I am, I did, that is.” Alex lifted his eyebrow at Michael’s too-still pause before he sweetly brushed the long stubborn curl out of Michael’s face, “Done with the Air Force as of next month.”
“Fuck me.”
“I can do that too.”

Michael Trevino: I feel that episode nine is a turning point for Kyle.
Michael Trevino: Well, I gotta be honest, I just saw the episode and I’m coming in hot!
Michael Trevino: It’s great.
Michael Trevino: I was genuinely surprised because usually you don’t get a pickup until at least the season has aired or the season is four or five episodes in, but I guess because in the year COVID and the delay, the network was able to see all these episodes and see the ones that we’ve done already.
Michael Trevino: I think — okay, well, to answer that on what we’ve already seen, I did like and enjoy the scenes with Kyle and Michael.
Michael Trevino: The rest of season three, I feel now that Jones is really flexing on us, we have this bit of the Avengers assembling right in Roswell, like everybody having to come together, everybody has a job, and it’s to really take care of Jones and get him out of here. So I think that’s really what the rest of these episodes are going to be about.
I love that metaphor you did. It’s perfect. Michael Trevino: It really is because it’s like from season one to season three, we’re all separate.
Michael Trevino: Well, I have to give it to our producers, really, because everybody in the world had to pivot.
Michael Trevino: I’m going to say that I want to see more Kyle and Isobel.
Michael Trevino: Well, my reaction is a kind of going off of my last answer, Kyle ends up having more storyline with Isobel and it’s nice to see that play out.
Michael Trevino: Oh damn, that’s a great question.
Michael Trevino: Oh gosh, it’s our season finale, it has to be our season finale.
Michael Trevino: Kyle Valenti: I’m there if you need me.

Roswell New Mexico - Season 4, Episode 5
- There was...a lot going on in that episode and yet still not enough answers??
- I feel like Max could have gotten a little more out of Tesca in that mind scape. Mainly, I would still like to know what exactly the Alighting is. I mean I guess we found out that Ophiuchus is a...movement?? Sure. I guess. So that means Noah was part of this movement then?
- And then we’ve got alien trees on Earth and the glowy rock thing is just....a projection map? If that’s all it does, that’s extremely underwhelming and I can’t fathom why in the hell they went through all that trouble to get those stones. Especially since he just gave it to Michael.
- And then there was all that stuff that happened in Mexico?? Side note, every time they show that one wide shot of the town I just crack up because it’s clearly like a single stock photo they put up on the screen and I can’t. Anyway, so...Eduardo, the maybe secret Uncle, has a secret daughter that’s part of a long line of Valentis protecting alien secrets and artifacts?!?!?! Is that what I was supposed to get from all that? That was just a lot of random information that seemed to come out of absolutely nowhere. And that’s the form that Tesca has been using? So we don’t know what she actually looks like??? Is she like Nasado from the original series and doesn’t have a body or at least not a human looking one? Or did something happen to hers somehow??
- Also...Ali Meyers is somehow related to the Valentis???? Is that why Shivani knows about aliens? But shouldn’t she then know more? I’m so confused.
- Oh and Maria and Dallas have a tree connection? Are they gonna end up secretly related too so they can’t date? There’s just A LOT going on and I can not keep track of it all anymore.
- Like I’m glad everything is still revolving around the same plot and everyone is still essentially working together but it’s getting messy and I feel like they need to start slotting more pieces into place because it feels like they’re dragging their heals a little bit.
- But uhh...confusing plot stuff aside...
- The best thing this episode was probably Kybel. Did it happen too immediately after the Anatsa break up? Maybe? I just....I can’t get over how much better it would have been if they just let Isobel be the one to sleep with Anatsa in the first episode of last season instead of Max (which is still the weirdest thing) and then just have them date all last season and then break up at the end or in like the first episode this season or something because she gets a new job and Isobel realizes what she said in this episode that she helped her learn to love again but she wasn’t her person. That was a good lesson and a great purpose for Anatsa to serve. But they didn’t need to waste all that time last season and then shoehorn it into the beginning of this season just to break them up for Kybel. If they’d just given Isobel and Anatsa a whole season together for their relationship to breathe a little, it wouldn’t have all felt so pointless. We could have appreciated her and the lesson Isobel learned a whole lot more.
- That said, I adore Isobel and Kyle and their flirting and dance was great and the kiss was cut too quickly. But I’m very happy for them.
- Max and Liz...are becoming a bit of a train wreck but perhaps the lessons they learned in this episode will force them to acknowledge the facts?? They are an alien and a scientist that constantly have alien issues to deal with and they’re never going to be just a couple from Roswell. So they need to find a realistic balance that doesn’t fundamentally change who they are. I mean it seems like that’s perhaps where they’re headed but I hope they tell it well. Also...did Liz just abandon her GED class or is she still teaching? Or did the test happen? Was that just some filler plot for the first two episodes or will any of that be at all relevant at a later date?
- I don’t like that Cam is leaving again. I like having her around. She balances Max out and makes him slightly more likable.
- I had another moment like in season 2 when Alex walked into the diner and had a scene with Isobel and Liz and I was like “is this allowed?” when Liz and Maria sat down with a bottle of wine for a catch up like actual real friends do? I mean...wow! Floored! Haha. I shouldn’t have to be this surprised in season 4 that they’re actually showing a real friendship scene between Liz and Maria, especially one where neither of them are in mortal peril. So uhh...yeah...with Cam leaving, more of Liz and Maria actually being friends would be great. It was a nice scene.
- Dallas continues to be a nice support for Maria and her for him. I do like their dynamic a lot. Still concerned they might end up related. I really don’t know where they’re going with the two of them especially considering Maria has never mentioned Greg again after the first episode of this season. So...??
- I also still like the fact that they continually show us Michael and Dallas being friends and being there for each other. For a show that regularly forgets that friendship needs to be shown to be believable, they have done a surprisingly decent job with the two of them.
- But speaking of Michael....FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CAN HE KNOW THAT ALEX IS MISSING???!?!? I know I’m biased here but like...it’s been three episodes now. He couldn’t get a hold of him when Mimi died. Is he not concerned??? And plot wise, can we please have SOME kind of hint of what Tesca and co are doing with him? Because this is a bit ridiculous. I can accept him not being on screen because he was unavailable for filming but the fact that no one even knows he’s missing/hurt/taken etc after three episodes is just bad story management. I used Motherland Fort Salem as an example earlier but like the episode after Raelle was sucked underground we didn’t see her but everyone knows she’s missing and they’re actively trying to do things to get her back. Scylla’s trying so hard and breaking down over it because she’s struggling. That’s the kind of stuff I would like to be seeing from Michael. Not him just having little chats with Bonnie and fricken Clyde. I’m bored.
- Speaking of Bonnie and Clyde and Tesca and Jones and Oasis....I just hate all of these very earth names. Like I get why Max, Michael, Isobel and Dallas have human/Earth names because they were adopted and grew up here and I get why their parents came up with Earth names for ease of integrating. But every time I hear Bonnie or Clyde call each other by those names I just cringe because it sounds so ridiculous. JUST GIVE THEM ALIEN NAMES! I kind of hoped Tesca was actually an alien name but then they revealed this week that it wasn’t. I don’t get it. And Oasis is ridiculous too. At least come up with an alien sounding word and say it roughly translates to the English word Oasis or something but just pretending everyone calls it Oasis is so dumb. It just kind of drives me crazy and feels super lazy.
- As for the ending with Michael being sick because apparently, according to the promo, Bonnie poisoned him with her kiss somehow???? Umm...okay? I guess at least that makes the kiss more worthwhile because it wasn’t just a random naive way for Michael to be like “I love Alex!” but honestly all of this stuff is just really confusing and all over the place.
- I finally got my more cohesive plot and character interactions but they’re somehow still disappointing me with it all. I really was with them for the first three episodes but the last two have been really kind of frustrating in a lot of ways even if there are things I do like.
- Also...so they’re trying to what? Turn Max into Jones so they can take him off back to Oasis to save their planet? I guess??? Sure....
- I just kind of need them to both slow down a bit but also be more direct so we can get to the point,
- Sigh....look! I’m back to ranting and using some ALL CAPS! And many question marks.

THOUGHTS ON RNM 3x08
Wow! What an amazing episode!!! I think I have watched it 5 times now.ed And watched all the Malex scenes on youtube repeatedly. Stopped and stared at every gifset I’ve run across. It’s just been an amazing feeling knowing that we won people!!! Malex is back and I honestly don’t think they will be going back. It’s really, finally their time. But I’m going to save them til last because there will be so much flailing! So I’m going to start with the only thing that I had a real problem with in this episode. Why does no one care about Kyle? I’m positive that they know about him. Alex wouldn’t drop everything he dropped in this episode without letting them know where Kyle is. And there is a very bad habit with this show of telling instead of showing. And I totally get why Maria is the priority at the moment. Kyle is presumably stable and being taken care of by Eduardo, while Maria was deteriorating while she was “possessed” by Jones. But still, a little “Hey Alex, how’s my brother?” from Rosa would not have been remiss. But, I guess I just have to take a step back and remember that this is RNM and old habits are hard to break with them apparently.
Now. Let’s move on to the things I loved. I know there was so much hate and salt thrown Maria’s way because she’s rarely written the way she should be. And of course there was all of last season that made a lot of people loathe and despise her. I’ve had my moments where I never wanted to see her on my screen again, but then I took a step back and realized I was putting all of my hatred and upset onto a fictional character. Maria is not the person who wrote such a crappy story for her last season. I think we can all agree that Maria was Carina’s self-insert character. But I decided that I was going to move past my anger and try and embrace her this season. Admittedly, it’s been up and down. I think there have been times when she has definitely been used too much, and times when she was never fleshed out. But this episode her story revolved around what I have always thought was the most interesting part about her. Her heritage. I’ve always been interested in Patricia and what happened to her at Caulfield. To see how she worked with Nora to build the Lockhart machine was great! And then to find out how she was injected with the alien chemicals after Lockhart figured out she was actually helping the people she was supposed to be injecting, that was awesome. I’m glad Maria got to find out more about her family’s past. Now I’m left wondering if Arturo has a past interaction with aliens or a connection to Caulfield. So far we’ve learned about the Valentis, the DeLuca’s and the Manes families. Now we need to find out about the Ortecho’s.
Next I would like to talk about all of the wonderful interactions between the women. I was feeling so much girl power emanating from my tv screen! I don’t care what anyone says, I love the friendships between Liz and Isobel, Isobel and Rosa, Rosa and Maria, Isobel and Maria, and Liz and Maria. They were amazing. I can’t wait to see more of their interactions. I think all of the women (frankly, all of the characters) have grown so much this season. I love the bonds of sisterhood that have formed between our ladies! They were all so supportive and caring with each other. It’s like Maria said, she wasn’t alone, she had her sisters with her! And when Liz said the three women I love, I wanted to cry. They have all come so far this season. Is everything perfect? No. But it’s so much better than it has been. I just want more, more, more.
Liz got to be her badass science self again. I loved the fact that she talked to the horse the entire episode. Sometimes we just have to bounce ideas off of somebody. Why not a horse? And the way she figured out how to disconnect Jones from Maria using Rosa’s new powers was perfection. She really got to see a new side to Rosa this time. I’m so glad that we are getting these wonderful Ortecho sister moments!
Isobel is a bamf! She took on Jones without a moments hesitation and totally kicked his ass! I love her so much! She has grown so confident in her abilities. And the fact that the one moment of doubt she had was when Rosa swooped in with pod Yoda wisdom was exactly what she needed. They are one of my favorite friendships on the show.
And my last thing before I fall down the Malex rabbit hole. My dudes. Get over the hug already! It has been canon the entire time that Alex still thinks of Maria as one of his best friends. As much as y’all want her to have her reckoning for 2x06, it’s not going to happen. If it bothers you so much that all you can do after so much wonderfulness, is complain about Maria, then you need to really think about whether or not this is the show for you. She is not going anywhere anytime soon. Yes, she still annoys me sometimes, but I can put that aside and love the show despite her. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there is just too much negativity out there.
So now for the good stuff. (Rubs hands together.) OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!
I cannot believe that we won! We’ve lost so many times. But now WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS MY FRIENDS! We were given a feast with this episode. I mean in the first five minutes we have Alex coming clean to Michael about joining Deep Sky. And instead of blowing up and walking away, Michael actually listened. And what Alex said about making a world where Michael didn’t have to live in fear for the both of them? I nearly died then and there. I seriously could have just had that moment and been happy. The eyebrow flirting was so cute. Then we get it again when they are trying to figure out where Jones was. The heart eyes coming from Michael was glorious. He was so proud of his man and his hacking skills. And we got dorky eyebrow flirting again! Then we have that scene where we learn why Alex is the way he is. I know there has been a lot said about him having a white saviour complex with the story of Omar, but I’ve heard similar stories from actual vets. We tend to let our own feelings about the military cloud our feelings for the men and women who serve. I’m glad that they finally showed Alex’s PTSD. He holds himself away from people because he knows what it’s like to lose people. And Michael rubbing his cheek like that. I almost died again. I just love them so much. And then we get the scene where Alex stops Michael from trying to take the sword from Jones. Him grabbing Michael’s hand like that was downright sexual. I need to fan myself. That’s chemistry folks! And then we get Alex hitting Jones with the truck! What a great parallel with Michael hitting Jesse with his cane. Those boys will do anything to protect each other.
And then we have that scene. SO MUCH GOODNESS! Alex telling Michael about the Lockhart machine. Michael admitting that he knows that he probably won’t get clearance to work on the project. Alex saying he will tell him everything anyway. Our boys have grown so much this season! And the way Michael took off his hat to kiss Alex. I just felt so much in that moment. That kiss was so soft and sweet. When they pulled away, the way Alex looked up at Michael with so much longing was just uh! And Michael’s little exhale and smile. He knows exactly how to put Alex at ease. And then the hug. I am ready to cry right now just thinking about it. I know many people think it was too much too soon, but I beg to differ. This is how I’ve always seen things happening. Once they were both on the same page, it was bound to go down exactly like this. They have so much history and passion between them. And now they can finally admit to each other and themselves that there is no one else in the universe for each other. Their love is so strong. Why shouldn’t they acknowledge their feelings while growing closer. In the end I think it will only make them stronger.
So that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I can’t wait til we get worried boyfriend Michael in the next episode. It’s going to be awesome! Till next time my friends!

Note
all of them for wolf 359!
📃 It's a podcast about a deep space mission where a quirky crew does quirky things until a plot about evil corporations, alien life, and moral decisions throw everyone through about 23 different loops
📌 Ghost recommended it to me in our freshmen year of high school because episode 5 was really funny and I decided to listen
✨ It's really beautifully done? Like the music, the ambiance, the monologues, the concepts themselves. But also it's very silly and fun at parts, the dialogue is really quippy and some of the sillier episodes are my favorites. It's also got really good characters in my opinion, everyone is at least a little shitty and are forced into difficult decisions and I like that.
🎥 So many scenes. I love the entire episode "The Paranoia Game", I love whenever Eiffel gets a badass moment, I love quite a few scenes from the 56-58 episode range for different reasons, I just love so much of this show
🎶 The soundtrack is gorgeous, it's all really pretty instrumentals by Alan Rodi. My favorites are You Were Probably Happier Yesterday/Your Happier Yesterday (Eiffel's theme) and Eiffel and Hera/Eiffel is Being A Bit Melodramatic Why This Time (the Eiffel and Hera theme) Can you tell I really like Eiffel and Hera
💕 Eiffel. I love Eiffel he's so annoying but he's also the heart of the cast and so useless but really pulls through in some moments. I just love the way he bounces off other characters and I how he more than any other character is so at home in both silly and serious scenes.
💔 I have some unexplained beef with Maxwell that I have had since I first listened in freshman year. She didn't even do anything idk man
🏳️‍🌈 half-white-half-latino Eiffel, also adhd/autihd eiff. No one is straight (but I might be the only person that thinks Lovelace is bi and not a lesbian)
🍀 Eiffel is a huge comfort character and I relate to him. Minkowski probably qualifies as a comfort character. The entire damn show makes me so happy
💎 dude so many. The show didn't start out with the finished plot so there were a lot of scrapped possible plots. My favorite is the one where someone (they hadn't decided who) would secretly jettison Eiffel into space with the intent of killing him, and instead he somehow made it back but for some plot reason couldn't tell anyone what happened so he just. Had to work with the person that tried to kill him. Also that originally, Eiffel's VA (zach valenti) would voice the entire original 4 person cast.
💢 I mean I guess there's stuff I would like to have happened, but honestly, no complaints off the top of my head.

Eraser Room
Happy Birthday, @spaceskam!!! 🎉Here’s a Michael Sanders AU fic, set after Staring in the Blackness at Some Distant Star. I hope it’s the fluffy teen Malex content you were looking for! 💜
Also on AO3!
***
A folded piece of paper lands on Alex’s desk halfway through his math test. He looks up to see Michael slinging his backpack over his shoulder, his curls bouncing as he strolls toward the front of the room.
Michael lingers to ask Mr. Valdez a question after he hands in his test and Alex takes advantage of the distraction to unfold the note.
eraser room?
Alex swallows roughly as he stares at Michael’s message, those two little words and all they imply making heat pool in his gut. He hides the note in his pocket as deftly as he can and looks up to find Michael’s eyes on him, a satisfied little grin on his face as he walks out the door into the hall.
“Fuck,” Alex whispers to himself, shifting uncomfortably in his seat.
He rushes the last section and is out of his seat in no time.
The second Alex slips into the Eraser Room, Michael crowds him up against the door, pushing into his space until Alex can feel his lips brush against his mouth, soft and a little wet like Michael’s just licked them. A surprised noise slips from Alex’s mouth, but he melts into Michael’s touch easy as anything.
Alex lets his messenger bag slip off his shoulder and thud carelessly against the ground when Michael deepens the kiss, his tongue sliding over Alex’s in a way that makes him feel hot all over. His hands desperately seek out Michael’s hips, reeling him in closer until their bodies are flush against each other.
He can feel Michael’s thumb pressing gently into the underside of his jaw as he changes the angle, rising up on his toes and guiding Alex’s head back until it’s resting on the solid door behind him. Alex smiles, a wave of affection overtaking him, and kisses Michael back that much harder.
Alex drifts for a while, barely aware of anything but the warm press of Michael’s mouth against his own, until Michael pulls away from him with a soft, slick sound and slides his palms down his chest to settle on his waist. Alex pants into the space between them, head still spinning as he opens his eyes.
Michael’s cheeks are flushed and his kiss-bitten lips are still so, so tempting.
“Hi,” Michael says, smiling at him dazedly like he’s the one who just got shoved up against a door and kissed to within an inch of his life.
“Hey,” Alex laughs a little breathlessly and swoops in for another peck, just because he can.
It’s quick, just a short press of their lips, but Michael is beaming at him all the same when Alex pulls away, his eyes going soft and intense the way they always do when they’re wrapped up in each other like this. They track a zigzagging path across Alex’s face like Michael is trying to commit his features to memory and Alex can’t hide the color darkening his cheeks.
“What?” Alex asks a little self-consciously.
“Hm?” Michael asks, tilting his head adorably.
“You’re staring at me,” Alex accuses lightly.
“I missed you,” Michael confesses with a shrug. His thumb slips under the hem of Alex’s black t-shirt to rub against the sensitive skin of his hip, making Alex shiver. Michael’s smile goes a little smug at that, his thumb pressing into his skin a little more firmly.
“You saw me on Friday,” Alex points out.
“Yeah, a whole weekend ago,” Michael complains. “One day without you is bad enough, but two? I hope you appreciate the restraint I’m showing right now.”
Alex snorts at that. “Is that what you call this?” he asks incredulously, pressing his hips forward until he feels Michael half-hard against him. “Restraint?”
“Your pants are still on, aren’t they?” Michael counters, tucking his fingers pointedly into Alex’s belt loops.
“Touché,” Alex says, and then they’re kissing again, slow and wet and so fucking perfect Alex feels like he might be seconds away from melting into a puddle. For all his teasing, he’s missed Michael too.
Michael pulls away from him a long minute later, but it takes a second for Alex to realize he’s asked him something.
“What?” he asks intelligently.
Michael laughs fondly at him and repeats himself. “I asked how your camping trip went.”
“Oh,” Alex says, the fog slowly clearing from his mind. “Um, well, my dad went on his, like, five millionth rant about immigrants stealing jobs and gay people corrupting the American youth, so not great.”
“Ugh,” Michael grimaces. “What a piece of shit.”
“Yeah. Greg was there though, so he was more interested in grilling him about the Navy than bothering me too much,” Alex continues.
“Oh, he’s back?” Michael asks.
“Mhmm,” Alex says. “He’s on leave, so he’ll be staying with us until he ships out next weekend.”
“Does that mean you can’t come to Isobel’s thing later?” Michael pouts.
“Isobel’s having a thing?” Alex asks, this being the first time he’s hearing about it.
“Yeah, she planned it this weekend” Michael nods. “The Evanses’ll be out late at some country club thing, so she’s inviting some people over for something low-key.”
“Who’s going?” Alex asks. He likes Isobel—a lot, actually—but he doesn’t really like her friends.
Michael shrugs. “Didn’t ask,” he says. “Not Valenti though, if that’s what you’re worried about.”
“Hmm,” Alex hums thoughtfully.
“Wanna be my date?” Michael asks after a minute, sliding his arms around Alex’s shoulders to hang on his neck a little, and then, to sweeten the deal, adds, “We can eat her bougie snacks and hook up in the bathroom.”
“So romantic,” Alex teases, tightening his arms around Michael’s waist. Michael’s grin widens.
“Pretty sure there’s a scented candle in there I can light to set the mood for you if you want,” he says, voice dipping low and seductive.
“You’re unbelievable,” Alex laughs, shaking his head.
“You love me,” Michael says, confidence shining through in his voice.
“I do,” Alex agrees, and leans in for a kiss. Michael hums happily against his mouth and Alex has maybe never loved him more.
“So, is that a yes?” Michael asks when they part.
“Of course it’s a yes,” Alex answers immediately. “I saw Greg all weekend, he’ll get over it if I hang out with you for a few hours.”
“Perfect,” Michael smiles. “I’ll pick you up at eight.”
Just as Alex is angling for another kiss, the bell rings in the hall, signaling the end of the period. The both of them groan in tandem before reluctantly pulling away to pick up their belongings.
“Fuck Social Studies,” Alex complains aloud, thinking of their next period class. “Who even cares what happened on this stupid planet anyway?”
“Right?” Michael says, eyes wide and impassioned. “We should just stay here, honestly.”
“We have a quiz on Wednesday, though,” Alex says.
“So?”
“So not all of us are super geniuses who don’t need the review day,” Alex says, pecking Michael on the cheek to curb his disappointment. “Come on, we’re gonna be late.”
Alex turns around to reach for the door then, and Michael immediately bursts into giggles.
“Oh shit,” he says, and Alex turns to look over his shoulder.
“What?” he asks, taking in the look of guilty amusement on Michael’s face.
“Babe, you’ve got chalk dust all over your back,” he says.
Alex sighs. He takes a closer look at the door in front of him and sure enough there’s an Alex-shaped smudge in the layer of chalk dust covering the door where Michael shoved him up against it.
“Weird,” Alex comments dryly, shooting another look over his shoulder. “Wonder how that happened?”
“Sorry?” Michael apologizes.
Alex tries to wipe the dust off, but he can’t quite reach most of his back.
“Can you help me get it off?” Alex asks eventually.
“Yeah, hang on,” Michael says.
Alex feels his hands on him a second later, smoothing over the fabric in a way Alex is pretty sure is just rubbing the chalk dust in more.
When he says as much, Michael hums and says, “Mm, might be right about that. Guess you’ll have to take it off?”
“Michael,” Alex laughs, but lets Michael tug his shirt over his head anyway.
Michael leans forward to press a kiss to the back of Alex’s bare shoulder before he shakes his shirt out, beating the white powder from the fabric. He hands it back to Alex when he’s done, but before Alex can get dressed again Michael stops him.
“Wait, no, it’s in your hair too,” Michael says, burying his fingers in Alex’s hair and shaking the chalk dust out.
It feels nice—Michael’s hands on him always do—but then Michael tugs a little on the ends and Alex lets out a surprised moan, that nice, pleasant feeling shifting into something hot and needy in an instant.
“God, what is this? Are you trying to get me hard right now?” he asks, turning his head to look at Michael as much as he can with Michael gripping his hair.
“Is it working?” Michael asks, hooking his chin over Alex’s shoulder and scraping his blunt nails gently across his scalp.
“We have class,” Alex whines, desperately clinging to his one sensible brain cell. He wants Michael—has wanted him since he read his note—but they just don’t have enough time to fool around right now.
“Yeah, but it’s been a while since I went down on you in here,” Michael says, freeing himself from Alex’s hair to wrap his arms around Alex’s front. “Or at all, to be honest,” he adds, his fingers teasing along the waistband of Alex’s jeans.
“It’s been four days,” Alex points out.
“Exactly,” Michael says.
Alex shakes his head before he says, “You’re a terrible influence, Michael Sanders.”
He can feel Michael grin against the side of his neck for a moment before he opens his mouth again.
“Haven’t you heard? Corrupting the American youth is item one on the Gay Agenda, Alex. I really don’t have a choice here,” Michael deadpans.
Alex bursts out into incredulous laughter.
“Okay, one: you’re not even gay, and two: fuck you,” Alex laughs.
“A technicality,” Michael says before leaning in close to Alex’s ear to add, “And only if you ask me nicely.”
Alex groans and turns around to kiss Michael once on the mouth. Michael follows after him when he pulls away, but Alex presses his finger to Michael’s lips to stop him.
“Save it for the party,” he says, and ignores Michael’s pout to throw his shirt back on. There’s a little bit of chalk still on it, but it’s subtle enough that no one should notice.
“If you insist,” Michael sighs dramatically, but he’s smiling as he lifts his backpack off the floor and slings it across his shoulder.
The halls are already empty as they slip out of the Eraser Room, the bell seconds from ringing in the next period, but when Michael reaches for Alex’s hand and threads their fingers together, Alex can’t find it in himself to rush.
