I’m more than happy to oblige with the recipe! So fair warning. My recipe starts off with “5 gallons heavy cream” so I’ve tried to scale it back and write out a recipe for a home cook. The nice thing about this sauce is if you cool completely before freezing then reheat over a low heat with continuous stirring, it freezes super nicely.

where is really starts is when we sear off our duck breast so we can use the fond (the golden brown amazing stuff in the bottom of the pan) to add flavor. To substitute this, honestly a bouillon cube crushed and mixed in a little water works.

to the Pan (with or without your fond/fond substitute) add two tablespoons butter and 3-5 large cloves minced garlic until the garlic becomes fragrant in the pan over medium heat. Then add in ~1/2 teaspoons of dried oregano, basil, thyme or a heaping teaspoon of Italian seasoning. (I prefer dry to fresh here tbh)

Once everything is fragrant, add 3/4 cup roughly chopped sun dried tomatoes (I prefer the ones not in oil but if you do get them, drain and pat to dry, discard oil) a teaspoon of tomato paste (optional unless you want to bring out the tomato flavor a lot) 1 cup chicken broth, 2/3 cup heavy cream (or half and half if that’s what you have but it won’t taste as rich) and 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Stir to combine and taste, add a few cranks/shakes of black pepper-or if you’re feeling good, crushed red pepper. Bring mixture to a boil then make sure to gently stir, watching so the pan does not over boil and scraping the bottom so nothing gets burnt.

once thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon, lower heat to simmer and add a little more parm (1/4 cupish) to stir in for a final sticky sauce. Taste again and season with salt and pepper if needed.

while this is all happening, boil your pasta to just before al dente and remove from water and drain. Combine in sauce and cook on simmer for one more minute or until desired texture. We plate in a shallow bowl with a lemon garlic salmon on top.

if you really want to just make your eyes roll, throw some finely minced shallot or white onion in there too right after the garlic and cook until translucent.

FIRST “NEST” HIGHLIGHTS ✨

Just for the sake of using this blog like an actual blogging space 💁🏻‍♀️✨ let me tell you about how my first NEST went!!

For those of you that aren’t familiar, NEST is one of the biggest fetish gatherings in North America for us t-word enthusiasts! I’ve known about it since forever ago, and this may it was my first time actually attending. It was: everything I’d hoped it would be (˘▽˘ʃƪ)・ﾟ✧♡ here are some highlights!

This gathering was probably one of the biggest I’ve ever been to in terms of the amount of friends I saw alone! There were pals from our Tumblr community, friends from Japan, everyone from my gathering friend groups, and lots of friends from my local community as well. It was really heaven to just be with all of my favourite people all at once and in one place (˘▽˘ʃƪ)・ﾟ✧♡

The events were REALLY COOL! Definitely a gathering with one of the most comprehensive schedules I’ve ever experienced! I participated in as much as I could, but notably the squid games, auctions, and t-word-theatre (which is a big public t-word show where someone get’s got in front of an audience in a very theatrical way!) was super cool! Having said that…

I GOT KIDNAPPED!! Well, “napped” 😅 don’t worry, no real felonies here hahaha. When I applied to be ‘napped like back in the beginning of the year, I didn’t hear anything back at all about the process of how that was going. Knowing not every applicant ends up getting chosen, I didn’t let myself keep my hopes up. Long story short.. after I excitedly went to the t-word theatre event all pumped to watch someone get got… to my great surprise, that person was gonna be me lmao ‼️😱 I was kinda *taken* from my seat and tied to a chair in front of everyone, then a game show-dating show scenario played out with 3 bachelors behind a curtain answering questions (really funny and witty answers, might I add) that the show host threw their way 😆. Of course, then the host eventually asks the question “our bachelorette loves to laugh, how would you make her laugh?” … and basically I watched as all of them came through the curtain to come get me 😱 one by one…. And then !!! OF COURSE ALL THREE HAD TO COME AT ONCE 😱💀😵!!! And I couldn’t take it right so I was yelling “help meeee” hahaha ya know cause pooOOooOoOor meeeee 🤪😇. And the host was like… “sure I’ll help them” AND JOINED IN ON THE LERS SIDE 💀💀💀! ANYWAYYYY despite how extremely evil that was 😜🥺, it was 10/10 one of the coolest experiences of my life, I got an “I got napped” certificate AND it made me really happy when people approached me later saying they liked my scene (˘▽˘ʃƪ)・ﾟ✧♡ THANK U NEST FOR CHOOSING MEEEE! 🩷

This was the first gathering I been to with a partner and he was beyond lovely and supportive and we didn’t struggle with feeling any kind of restrictions due to each other .. and this means a lot because I intend on going to gatherings for as long as I can and the fact that that won’t interfere with my love life is truly a dream come true for me :)

Oh, and I experienced getting t-worded by one of my most sadistic gal pals in a fully nylon body suit and 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 I think my soul left my body that day lmaoooo RIP ME

While we're theorizing about AYS, may I leave this one with you?

THEORY: Before the shoot began, JM and JK had a chat about how they were going to approach it as entertainers. One of the items they agreed upon was that JM would film 'house tours' of wherever they stay the night and JK would film the food insert shots. We see JM film a trour of their camping tiny house, the air b&b in CT and the house in Jeju. The only time he films the food is at the omakase but honestly, what else was he supposed to do there? Lol. JK was very diligent in getting 'dynamic' food coverage everywhere.

They each had their own little responsibility and I'm just so endeared. Who knows if we'll ever find out the answer but I think it's cute.

If anyone isn't following along with @curio-queries AYS production breakdowns, please do so. They are so insightful!

Thank you for this ask 😙 I feel like it's part of a longer conversation about how AYS came to exist, which I'd love to have. We might get some more insight into the 'why and how' of it after all the episodes and behinds have aired. But because theorizing is part and parcel of being ARMY, I say: why wait, let's go!

Early in episode 3, there's this one off-hand comment JK makes to Tae about getting out the 'company card' to pay for their meal in Jeju. It was relatable as most of us have at some point gone to lunch or dinner on 'the boss's dime'. It also served as a reminder that the expenses of this trip are literally billed as 'work' for them. And as they took it upon themselves to embark on this show, task assignment comes with the territory. So yes, it makes sense for them to have agreed as to their part of 'the coverage' during pre-production. The coverage being the type of shots they were willing and able to film themselves. And mind you, them filming parts of it is not only another checkmark on the overall shotlist; a way for production to get close up's of their faces and inserts of their meals, but also a way to emotionally seat the audience inside their experiences. Seeing it all through their eyes. So it was a great production choice as well as a narrative one to have them film with the go-pro's.

I think that's part of why it's so funny to them. They literally arranged a paid vacation for themselves, lmao. That omakase, they needed those shots as receipts to justify that (surely extremely expensive) meal. Do we think Taehyung would have had his meal paid for by Jimin, or could they have written it off as a 'guest star' expense? 🤔

Another thing that filming with the go-pro's does is, literally, hand jikook the reigns of what they're willing to film/show.

A much discussed example is the morning scene inside the CT house. JK wakes up, turns on the camera in the hallway outside Jimin’s door, entering, the scene cutting to the camera inside, etc. There are scores of decisions that took place prior to that scene. The editing of it is doing nothing to make the timeline of events any clearer. But all those cameras would have had to be turned on prior to them 'waking up' in the reality of the show. Parsing all of those choices, including when crew is back inside the house once morning comes, will have to wait for another day (that is , if anyone even cares to know, lol).

The point I'm getting at is that while traveling, JK and JM have more control over what we're being shown than we even realize. As you stated in your blog, ITS did this a lot.

ITS would end right up until the tannies would have had to leave a place. Never showing the travel back, probably because emotionally, you want the audience to stay with the characters inside the happy bubble of the experience, not the slog of traveling home. Especially because there is no longer a story to work towards.

My question to you, do you think they 'woke up' together prior to turning on the cameras and putting on the microphones? Who turns off the cams and mics at night before they actually sleep?

I think you know as well as I do that we shouldn't forget that AYS is a story we're being shown. There is a production that has to takes place in order to make it, and there are two professionals who are working to show us these moments. But more importantly, there are two human beings who are also having 'off-camera' moments who decide what they're willing to include in this show.

Sometimes, the lines get blurred, but the intentionality of this show and the kind of relationship they're inviting us to observe is monumental, in my opinion.

Was doing a lot of whiteboarding lately! A ton of Kalamela stuff and whatnot, i love her sosos much.

Plus a fun art I did with @su-gu3 with their Slasher OC, Kilonova! I drew the two hanging out together and we're friends so we obviously had to make them be besties😆 they're hanging out while Kilonova crushes over Sun :3c

Yes I did have a vision of the slashy boys fighting over who gets the first dance, more on that below the art😋

The masks that Sun and Moon use plus the blood represents the killings. The heart represents Ethan, because she deep down adores that child.

Okay dance time! So Crystal Cove holds this little event every few months to raise money for charity ( the owners being a cute old couple aaugghhhh <3)

And Kalamela and basically all the other staff normally work that night to avoid any issues and also to raise support as well. She often doesn't dress up since she doesn't feel like it, that and also theres a few customers who are creeps- im actually writing about that and purposely making her beat their asses- and tries to just avoid the overall commotion and craziness! But the boys wont take no for an answer because she always spoils them so why not give her a night to have some fun eh?

- I was thinking about this a lot but I think at some point she'd have to ask if Sun and Moon could let Ethan stay with them so he won't be witnessing a bunch of bullshit from his father, who sometimes comes over to her place just to start problems. I like to imagine she'll call them at least 30 minutes before he arrives and drives him over to their place to stay for a few hours until things calm down because she knows they'll take care of him!

- Kalamela isn't the type for romance movies, unless it's the Titanic, but I dont even know if that would be out in the very specific year the au takes place in considering it was released in 1997!! Either way😙 She often prefers horror movies and I think she'd really enjoy watching them with Sun, maybe its just so she has an excuse to cuddle up against him or just the thrill of watching some action! Who knowssss~

- She often lets Moon take Mango home for the night, he loves that parrot so much. Which usually gets an "Again?" from Sun because he always watches her whenever he gets the smallest chance.

- She definitely goes absolutely CRAZY on presents for holidays like Valentine's or Christmas for these two. I have a feeling she'd notice that they clearly didn't have the best childhood or ways growing up, and being in a similar situation because her family is extremely religious and she never had any freedom until she moved away, she often tries to make them happy and gets them as many gifts as possible. She spent all her money on them at on point and her only explanation was "I care for you guys a bit too much."

- cough wyervan ever since you mentioned that throwing a rock situation to get it through their heads that Kalamela loves them more than friends I can't help but imagine that she'd ask her friends about how to talk to them and her two friends, (Sprite and Eclipse, both guys, married gay men. They are extremely supportive. Would be great to have a beer with btw.) offer to help her, and eclipse throws a rock at both of them with a note attached to it while she just stands there in absolute shock that he actually aimed for their head. Oh and Sprite had to help Moon hold Sun back from beating his ass. Good times.

- I feel like at some point she would accidentally come across them killing someone and it results in this huge "oh shiiiitttt" moment from Sun and Moon as they drag her away into a more secluded area and then beg her not to tell anyone. (Even though her and Moon already talk about the killings, he still freaked) She doesn't rat them out because she is NOT getting slashed today, but often finds herself contemplating whether she should move and cut contact with them, despite the fact she loves them oh-so dearly!

Anyways, here are the warnings: fluff. you're pregnant with your first baby. naoya is super happy. indulgent. you know hehe. but maybe a tiny bit of angst at the end.

Their first pregnancy would have to be the most special, loving, adorable, spoiled moment of their life!!!

Not to say that the others weren't, but this was the first time… experiencing everything, you know? So obviously, they couldn’t just sit back and not enjoy this moment to the fullest, taking it to the extreme, as they always did.

It is for granted that whatever Naoya does it will always be to please you; whatever request, no matter how big or small, he is at your command and you should take advantage of that, as he’d frequently insist. 

Starting with your cravings, not that he didn’t do that before, but now he’s just a bit more cautious, taking an extra step just to be sure.

“Honey, I think I want something—”

“Sweet, sour? Or spicy perhaps? Maybe a combination of all? I got all kinds of snack for you to choose from, but if that doesn’t work, I can go out and get —”

“I haven't said anything yet, Naoya!” You chuckle. “I think I just want something sweet, that's all.”

“Chocolate? Cake? Cookies? Gummies? Ice cream? Mochi?” He goes on, and you remain silent, thinking…

“...maybe a bit of everything?” you pout. “And perhaps something else too…”

“And something else too.” he repeats with a smirk before placing his hand over your belly. “Sounds like a plan for my princesses’”

“Stop saying that, it sounds like you already know their gender!”

“I don’t, I promise.” Naoya kisses your cheek. “I’m just guessing, that’s all.”

“Well, if our baby ends up being a girl I’ll take it as if you did know, and I’ll be very angry with you…” you frown, he chuckles.

“Hopefully not too angry to eat.” Obviously, you don’t mean any of those words as seen in the way you quickly hug him, pressing kisses across his face as you declare that regardless of the baby’s gender, you’re very happy to be forming a family with him, as well as how eager you were to finally welcome your little dumpling in your arms.

Followed by dates, outings, or however you want to call them: those are definitely Naoya's favorite of all. 

From making the most of the little time he has with you between missions and clan responsibilities, to wanting to show off how happy he can make the future mother of his children, once again there is no doubt that whatever you set your eyes on, it's yours, no questions asked—clothes, furniture, food, pastimes, anything; don't worry your pretty little head about anything, he’ll make it work.

“Oh, that crib is so cute…” you’d say once stopping before a furniture store, the two strolling around the mall right after getting ice cream from that one place you wanted to try out for the longest, but haven’t been able to due to Naoya’s… unwanted commitments. 

Your hand is tightly holding his because of that, almost as if you were afraid of letting go and losing him. Moments like this make you all warm, keeping them close to your heart.

“...But we already have one.”

“And who said we couldn't have two?” Naoya responds, more than ready to step into the store and buy the crib—he doesn’t care if the bedroom is fully decorated at that point, you want it, you’ll have it.

“No, Naoya! We can't take it!” You’d tug at his arm immediately after. “We can't just have two cribs because we want to!”

“Who says so?” He raises an eyebrow. “If anything, it’s only necessary—the estate is too big to just have one bedroom; I can’t have you walking from one edge to the other just to put our dumpling to bed, nor will I allow it.”

“Don’t be silly… that’s not even a real issue…”

“... but if we get another, does  that mean we’ll have more rooms to decorate?”

“Naturally.”Naoya smiles. “Oooh, then can we get that other crib as well?” you cheer, gesturing at the one right beside it. “I’ve been wanting to do something with yellow, I feel like it could fit in nicely! I got so many ideas too, aahh I can’t wait to show you!!”

The Zen’in and your family would eventually come to think that maybe Naoya’s bottomless spending when it comes to doting you, as well as your willingness to enable his behavior might not be the best approach…

But unfortunately, your husband doesn’t care, quickly shutting down any unrequited comments before they came your way, focusing instead on nurturing the happy, safe family he always dreamed of having with you.

If you wanted to have matching outfits for you and the baby every day, then Naoya would take you to every store necessary, indifferent if it was on the other side of the country, or give you his credit card to order online, all depending on your mood, since pregnancy made you far more exhausted, as expected.

Which of course, Naoya was dutifully prepared for, showing how serious he was in preserving your wellbeing by arranging weekly, if not daily spa days for you to simply relax and unwind, only the best masseurs were allowed to tend to his wife—the slightest mistake would be met by his reproach, which thankfully rarely occurred since he mostly liked to be involved himself (jealous, perhaps?)

Your absolutely favorite moment had to be when he stood behind you, placing his hands just beneath your belly to relieve pressure from the baby by carefully lifting it, a gesture that while simple, made you just about the happiest woman in the world.

As well as the most miserable when he had to stop.

“You’re the worst husband!” you’d cry, pouting as he eventually retreated. Naoya tries his best to not laugh at the adorable way you complained, but he could only do so much when it came to you. “Why would you even do that if you’re going to leave?”

“I didn’t mean to, princess. But I gotta do things too, you know?”

“...Like what?” You frown. “What could possibly be more important than me??”

“Nothing, ever.” He smiles, carefully wrapping his arms around you and resting them over your stomach. “But you do know you can go to the bedroom to rest, right? You don't have to worry about any duties or such, our baby comes first. And if anyone dares bother you, just let me know—they’ll get what’s coming to them…”

“... I know, I know, but… I just wanted to be with you the most I could before you left.” you eventually admit, looking up to him with those teary, round eyes that always made him putty. “You’re leaving soon, aren’t you?”

Naoya feels his heart clench with regret, sorrowful when reminded of the truth.

“Yes, I have a mission.”

“Why do you even go on so many missions?” you protest. “I mean, I get it but—but you’ve been working so much this year, and we’re expecting a baby too! Shouldn’t you… shouldn't you have some time for your family as well? You deserve it—I deserve it!”

“Yes, I do. And you’re not the only one that thinks that, but as the heir and sorcerer, I also have—”

“It’s almost like you’re married to them, and not me.” you frown, looking away; he doesn’t need to hear more to know that you’re very upset (and even then, that might be an underestimation) by his frequent absence, but also, perhaps mainly, anxious for the arrival of the baby.

It was only natural that you’d feel that way, after all, your little dumpling was set to come in just a few weeks, introducing you to the last, most crucial moments of your pregnancy.

The doctors asked you to be cautious, reduce stress to the bare minimum and continue having a healthy routine, but that was always easier said than done, and though you’ve done your best thanks to the constant comfort and reassurance of those you loved, such as your family…

They could never compare your husband, whom you only missed more and more with each passing day as he was forced to undergo missions after missions, after missions.

You might not lack anything at home, and was greatly appreciative of it too, but all the things in the world could never replace his company, no matter how much you tried to tell yourself otherwise.

And thus, he takes one of the many decisions that not only proves his commitment to you, but the depth of his feelings, how excited he was for this new stage in his life, setting an example to his future as a husband and father.

“I'll stay home from now on.” Naoya promises, taking you in his arms and kissing the top of your head, before gently cupping your face, swiping away the tears on your cheeks and sealing his words with another kiss on your lips. “I'll arrange someone to take my missions, I won't leave you alone, I swear.”

The two couldn’t care less if the whole world was against both, as long as you had each other, everything would be alright.

Exactly what he intended to do, from the very moment his heart became yours, he vowed to do whatever it took to be by your side whenever you needed him, in the good and in the bad, for better or for worse…

Until one day, unfortunately, he couldn't.

hahaha well I decided to connect this one thing with another thing I have planned in the future... detailing more of naomi's relationship with her dad and y/n's second pregnancy...

BUT ANYWAYS I WANT TO GO INTO MORE DETAIL WITH THE SHOPPING PART IT'S SOOOO CCCUUUUUUTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Also Naoya is like super detached (acts like it, he's not) when it comes to your decisions about getting stuff for Naomi, but if you buy matching outfits for the two he will die of cuteness. Test it. :) he loves it.

2) her smile

Eloise doesn’t smile much. In her childhood she never really had any reason to smile, maybe when she was younger and her parents still loved her (their version, anyways). Nowadays Eloise “smiles” but it’s always just like this pictures🥹 not really but her face softens and you can tell🥹💓

Eloise smiles to herself when she’s reading Jane Austen, and sometimes when studying she looks up and catches Sebastian staring at her in a way that always makes her blush and smile before quickly looking back down at whatever homework she’s doing. Imelda and Anne have also made it their life mission to make sure she feels comfortable and happy and they’re always in a contest to see if they can make her laugh🥹

7) How they like to dress

Eloise is extremely feminine and loves wearing bows, skirts, etc. she never goes overboard with the frills (except her nightgown bahahahahahaha). I know in wizarding society it’s acceptable for women to wear trousers/show off their legs but just like with wearing her hair down, Eloise is SCANDALIZED when she sees Imelda stomping around in her pants😳😳😳 Imelda’s made it her life goal (working with Sebastian) to try and convince Eloise to wear them sometime.

Tbh for me personally I don’t think I have a set “outfit” I draw Eloise in. I just love old fashion plates and I take a lot of inspiration/different elements from those whenever I draw her! Poofy sleeves, lace, ribbons, bows…all of it is fair game when I draw her🥰🥰🥰 for colors I like drawing her in that light pinkish color but honestly I think dark green/charcoal grey etc look amazing on her too bc they bring out her eyes/coloring to their advantage!!

@ethniee and @ravenwind-75 (🥹😙😙) tagged me in something about our characters outfits & I wanted to participate but there were just so many choices😭😭 it made me think about in the future maybe doing an outfit reference!! But it’s tricky bc I treat Eloise as my historical fashion doll and make up something new every drawing🥹💓💓💓💓💓

15) How they react to a brainfreeze

Ok so in normal sense of the word, I DOUBT Eloise has ever had a brainfreeze bahahahahahaha. She’s MAYBE had ice cream twice in her life, and both times she ate it SO slowly to savor it bc she’d never had something like that before in her life. But she definitely didn’t gobble it down fast enough to get a brainfreeze. She’s a slow eater in general so it never really happens!!

🥰funnily enough i think my fav part was walking her home, she complained that her feet were tired so she wanted me to drag her. she held her hand out to me so we held hands and i dragged her half of the way home. why this is special to me is because anam isn’t this biggest fan of physical touch especially holding hands because she thinks it’s something you should only do in a relationship. but she suggested we hold hands together and i felt honoured in a way. we stopped half way and she sat down and i stood infront of her and played with her face and she was too shy to look at me. we also had this ongoing thing where she thinks i can’t lift her up.. well she suggested i give her i should give her a piggy back tho she was hesitant and so i did. and she was soooooo happy we were both giggling like little girls running around. i can just tell that anam has truly softened up around me now

You don’t know how you ended up in this predicament. Somehow everyone just decided to have a “emergency” needing them to leave you and L all by y’all selves overnight to work. You didn’t mind though you always appreciated his company. Though he was quiet it was a comfortable silence most of the time. As of right now the two of you were sitting next to each other each filling out your own paperwork. Not much said between you other than a bit of small talk. Eventually L got up and left the room you were in, figuring he needed a break you didn’t say anything.

He came back with a plate full of sweets and another with a piece of cake. Glancing from your side you caught a glimpse of his face and physique. Though he was lanky he had some muscles to him. He wasn’t that bad looking either. Definitely completely different from your exes. L noticed you staring and cleared his throat making you jump and turn your head in embarrassment. “Is there something wrong? You seem to stare at me quite often now a days.”

You shook your head no and you couldn’t believe that he noticed. Though you weren’t that surprised giving how smart he is. But he wasn’t oblivious to your feelings to him. He wasn’t completely sure though, he may be smart but when it comes to feelings and thing of that sort he’s still getting used to it. But he wasn’t completely dumb when it came to attraction, he knew he was attracted to Misa and he knew he felt the same way for you.

Deciding to break the silence some how he unwrapped a piece of candy and brought it to your face. You looked at him a bit shocked but seeing how he had a small blush on his face you knew this would be one of the only opportunities you had to get with him. Since it was just you two you decided why not be a bit frisky? You took the candy from between his fingers using your tongue (Does that make sense?) making eye contact with him the whole time.

He couldn’t help but gulp seeing the innocent smile you gave him as if you did nothing. So many questions were going through his brain that he couldn’t even figure out what to say, all he could do was stutter and stammer trying to figure out what to say. Ryu that nickname always drove him crazy as you were the only person to ever call him that and the only person allowed to. “Do you.. do you have feelings for me?”

You were a bit taken back but didn’t let it show, never expecting for him to actually ask. But this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting months for and now you were gonna take it. “Yeah I do, I have for the past couple months especially when you assigned me to help you out with the Kira case.”. There was another silence as you two just looked at each other. L broke the silence once again “I’m going to be honest I’ve never been in an relationship I’ve tend to be by myself. But I know I have feelings towards you and I want to be with you and make you happy.”

His words touched your heart as you knew he was quite genuine with everything he said. You grabbed his face and pulled him into kiss. He kissed back but he was extremely gentle. His touch when he grabbed your shoulder pulling you closer and onto his lap being just as soft. “I’ll be all your Ryu, and I’m happy to be your first.”. Both of you smiled as you rested your head onto his shoulder.

I imagine Sarah hearing about shibari from a friend at the uni and she first got curious about it as an art form. When she learned that its origins are in warfare/torture of prisoners, she instantly thought of Simon and how they could explore their vulnerabilities, even work on their traumas through that (and of course there's also an erotic, dom/sub tone to the tying).

She decided to suggest it to Simon who was, at first, in a mild shock. But as always the man does pretty much anything to make her happy, so off to a workshop they went. It turned out he enjoyed it just as much as Sarah, if not more. He also turned out to be an extremely good, safe rigger. Patient and calm, strong and attentive with his hands & with his reassuring presence, Sarah could safely explore her limits. (You could say they were both exploring their limits)

It soon became a form of foreplay for them, and they came home a bit hot and bothered after every class. Matthew hadn't been in any relationship before, so you being his absolute first one could probably be translated to seeing how inexperienced he was by his actions and his little awkwardness.

After years of knowing each other and staying as just friends even though it was pretty obvious you liked each other,you decided to take the step and confess your feelings towards him.

He was everything you could have asked to have in your life, like a warm ray of sunshine hitting you right on your face, like the fresh spring breeze that surrounds you with nostalgia, like the flavour of sweet fruits that you taste on a hot day throughout a cold drink.

He made you feel thousands of butterflies on your stomach and that giddiness and excitement you get due to his perfect smile and his cute little actions for you.

And seeing him all happy with other people made your heart shrink and feel extremely heavy. So taking this into account you just threw away all the possibilities that could go wrong and decided to take a shot.

When you finally let it all out and spoke to Matthew about it you were at first too scared to look at him in the eyes, and the silence that came right after it gave you less confidence about your decision. The truth was he couldn't believe you liked him back, he was too scared for rejection so you telling him that came as a surprise. However, as he saw tears rolling down your precious face he reacted immediately corresponding your feelings excitedly.

So that lead us to the present,about a week or so right into your relationship. Everyone could sense that you both were in love, from the way you spoke about your partner to the lingering glances to the soft smiles. However, as sweet as it seemed from afar the truth was a little bit different.

As you were both young, you were kinda inexperienced in terms of love, but it was totally normal. Specially Matthew, he was kinda awkward around you when you wanted to do couple stuff, because yes you were the one that lead the relationship here. You were much more opened to pda and showing affection.

Whenever you went to any little date you had you saw him all shy and blushy, he looked sometimes like a lost puppy that was afraid to follow anyone. But that's what you loved about him, his rosy cheeks when you hugged him out of the blue, his giggles when you made a silly joke or even the little glances you both exchanged that left you kicking your feet when you got home.

He also got embarrassed for the silliest things filling you with endearment like:

"Can I hold your hand?"

"Of course you can matthew"

Other times he said:

"Can you brush your fingers through my hair please?"

"Sure"

And forget about kisses, he couldn't take it if you just decided to give him a random peck on his cheek.

There was this particular time where you were just watching a movie and you were feeling cold so you decided to wrap your hands around him and scoot closer to him. He was a little stiff throughout it, but what made him ten times shy was you calling him:

"Baby, you don't need to be that rigid around me, but if you are uncomfortable or something you can just tell me"

That was it,those two things definitely killed him with sweetness. You hugging him and right after it giving him a cute nickname was enough for him to separate for a while from you as he was too busy covering his face from embarrassment.

After a whole minute he looked back at you cuddling you back but hiding his face on the crock of your neck.

You smiled fondly at his remark

Matthew's favourite dates were definitely those where you went outdoors to the river, the countryside,the beach,etc...

He loved nature so it was natural for him to be in his favourite place with his favourite person.

You both went to the forest frequently and enjoyed the peace and the views you got there, it was such a fond memory that you held dearest to your heart and so did him.

You went there with sandwiches and fruit to not die from hunger and sat down on a tree log talking about anything that came to your mind.

You couldn't stop staring at him, at his profile and how his eyes literally sparkled when he looked at a butterfly or the beautiful flowers that were near you both, and once you were caught by him he asked you about it looking down:

"You just look so handsome and comfortable, it makes me really happy and I feel really lucky to get this sight"

Your sweetness? How you got every little detail? Nah, you definitely broke him. He swore to God he didn't deserve you at all.

Deadpan, decisive, and only slightly disturbing, Akuja is a historian exploring this new map to try and untangle the histories of the merged lands. She travels with a cast of colorful characters who share the same goal, hoping to explain the merge while uncovering new histories along the way. Akuja wants to live a peaceful life traveling, reading, and hopefully contributing to history books. And, hey, with the merge helping her to manifest these new elemental powers, what’s not to like?

However, her past seems to haunt her, as she relives nightmares she’d long since escaped.

I see her as a Ronin type character, sometimes an ally, sometimes an enemy depending on the situation. She holds the key to valuable information, but she’s not gonna make it easy for you, and if she does, you should be suspicious. Sometimes the ninja have information she didn’t know, but she’d never tell them that. She sees herself as a guardian of this new history so may test you to see if you’re worthy. (Basically, all of her expository dialogue comes with at least one emotional revelation of some type. A fair trade off in my book 😙)

A late addition to my Aku related ramblings, but I might have her interact with Dr. LaRow. One dedicated to the past and its mysteries while the other works fervently to push into the future. I wonder what would happen if LaRow needed some information on the source dragons from her…

Anyways… 2/3 of her outfits attempt to mix gothic (both lolita and regular goth) styles with African, specifically Ghanaian, designs, even if that design is mostly just using a kente cloth overlay 😅. Uhhhh this was my first time trying out this style fusion type thing so I’m still working out the kinks. It didn’t help that I designed her first “battle outfit” from the back, making it a lil wonky from the front. Either way, I’m still happy with how she turned out!

I’m open to any questions about this girlie or her band of archaeologists, historians, and anthropologists from across the merged realms, but that is all I have for you for now. I am going to now be at peace 🕴️

so i think it’s very interesting how jack has that angelic trademark tendency for hubris in spite of their humanness canonically being the “dominant gene,” or so to speak, because despite having that tendency for hubris, jack still isn’t downright egotistical like chuck or lucifer or anyone else on that side of the family. he’s just overly confident sometimes.

ive found that a lot of his hubris tends to be expressed the most in situations where he’s trying to fulfill a certain role or purpose or gain acceptance/validation from other people; trying to be a protective leader in Apocalypse World, showing the sheriff how he can tamper with the vending machines, teaching the Lebanon Kids how to throw angel blades, etc.

He loves to show off and impress people, and positive feedback pretty much reinforces a positive self image for him, because jack basically throws his entire identity into what he’s most useful for in the current situation, and once he’s made up his mind about a plan to enact for that purpose, he won’t let anyone stop him—even if it’s his own friends or family.

I’ve already said it, but hear it again anyways. Jack is entirely fully aware of his powers and threat level. They’ve been aware of it since the moment with Sam in the motel alley where he tells them “We need to protect you, but we might also need to protect other people from you.” It’s an extremely clashing and confusing dichotomy to stick an even more confused teenager into, because now Jack has to balance out being useful with being safe, too. He has to balance the idea that while he isn’t inherently evil, he’s still extremely potentially harmful to the world around him (which is an additionally confusing idea to balance bc Jack has only ever felt a genuine curiosity about the world more than anything).

I think the core difference between Jack’s hubris and the hubris of other celestial beings is that Jack is more human than they are, both biologically and socially. Jack knows the incredible power and danger he poses, and even further down he knows it comes from an inherently evil place, but their determination to make the best out of the absolute worst drives them to use that potential for good; for protection, for defense, for healing, etc.

He places immense value on a plethora of human things (“I’m getting that life isn’t about all these big things / it’s time together that matters” ) due to Kelly’s initial influence, and then TFW’s later on. So unlike Chuck and Lucifer and Michael and the other cosmic Kardashians, who see no value in humanity altogether (or in Chuck’s case, see no value when it can’t be attributed to themselves), Jack places all of the value of his powers on how much he can protect all of the things/people he’s come to value and love, which then falls in line to how his hubris is driven.

This post is getting too long but as a final tack on, it also helps that the cosmic family’s displays of power and confidence are to invoke fear, respect and blind loyalty, whereas Jack’s is to invoke acceptance, trust and prove his worth
