I HAVE A WHOLE THING TYPED UP ABOUT MANDELA CATALOGUE AND I AM SO DELIGHTED THAT WE HAD THE SAME TRAIN OF THOUGHT ABT THE FAKE CREATOR BEING AN ALTERNATE. like first of all that is a goddamn jackpot of a situation for an alternate - a world of people who would do anything for their beloved creator, who would be so devastated if said creator were to be led to slaughter, especially by their own actions… and we know how good alternates are at imitating the divine. it’s almost unfair, how easy it is to convince everybody that you - unremarkable, perfectly human you - are the true imposter.
now there are tons of ways reader could die - maybe the false creator kills them personally, maybe it’s one of your acolytes, maybe… well, if you know the mandela catalogue, you know how it goes with alternates. there’s not enough room for the both of you.
(sorry midas you have let a monster into your home i am physically incapable of being normal abt online horror) - teddy anon
alternate!imposter is SUCH a thrilling idea i’m SO happy you brought this to my attention
talking beneath the readmore <3
ok quick disclaimer i’ve never directly watched the mandala catalogue directly for a variety of reasons, but i HAVE watched wendigoons trilogy about it, so.. idk keep that in mind
anyway. alternates.
they manifested through your device—whether you want reader to live within the mandela universe is honestly up to you, i could see the alternate manifesting as like a response to the unanswered prayers- OH or bc everybody keeps worshipping essentially an empty throne, and their faith makes them a new god? wait wait- ok so in mondstat’s archon quest venti essentially says that faith gives archons their power, so by having all that faith and nowhere to put it, it could manifest an alternate. or celestia does shit idk it’s up to you.
leading off that: alternate! imposter who physically cannot exist outside of the throne. they exist solely as a placeholder for faith, so- oh my god there’s NO ROOM FOR THE BOTH OF YOU I-
sorry. i am normal. i am 100% normal abt the mandela catalogue and the lore of genshin impact (2020). i am calm. i am normal.
im- maybe if the reader lives in the mandela universe their alternate realizes the absolute goldmine that is genshin, and goes there to spread the alternate disease or something. reader thinks they’re safe from the alternates but NO it’s in THEIR PHONE-
WHT IF READER GETS NOTIFICATIONS (prayers) ABOUT THE ALTERNATE SITUATION?
people in genshin start suffering from alternate encounters, M.A.D. is running rampant, vision holders are strong but the alternates are stronger- maybe the alternate allies with the abyss, two beings of separate planes coming together to take over teyvat, the traveller now fighting a copy of themself that taunts him about how it gets to be with their sibling, it is the better twin for never leaving their side, it is the one that deserves to survive.
“and we know how good alternates are at imitating the divine” TEDDY YOURE KILLING ME /ops
OR OR OR OR OR OR- the original alternate took over christianity right? (running off wendigoons analysis i might be wrong BUT) what if they took over the creators religion in the same way? the true creator was cast out, sent to earth, as the alternates took over teyvat from the VERY START?
ok so crackpot theory time: smthn smthn the mandela catalogue here on earth is like… teyvat/celestia/something trying to give us information about the situation on teyvat? like it’s here because we need to know about it if- when we descend to teyvat once more. the original alternate damaged us and hurt our ‘soul’ or whatever so we’ve been living out human lives for ever and ever, slowly healing by the ‘faith’ from out human connections. it isn’t as strong and would take literal billions of years, but what if the people in teyvat don’t worship the alternate!creator themself, but rather worship the title of the creator, i. e. the true creator, or you. this allows you to descend to teyvat at all without it being entirely ruined by the alternates.
^ don’t have much sense around that but i REALLY like it.
OH WHAT IF THE ALTERNATE!CREATOR HAD ALTERNATES OF THE ARCHONS ON THE THRONES???
obviously archons would see RIGHT through alternates- or at least have an inkling, or maybe they just have differing worldviews and the alternate!creator wants EVERYTHING in their grasp. and the extra faith in the archons, now the alternate!archons, will only strengthen them and their forces?
idk how the alternates would work exactly since they operate via technology in the og series, but maybe it’s via elemental power- oh or the gnoses??
like like visions— visions are “external foci” (says venti in the mondstat archon quest) so if you squint real hard and pray to the alternate!creator then maybe that can count? bc elemental sight is technically another version of the world colored only by elements so- oh and the leylines, or maybe even irmunsul? THE WITHERING? ELEAZAR?
guess who’s 100% Normal about this!! me!!!
i may have let a monster into my home, but what is one demon to another?
thank you. please return. i love you /p. hope that made at least a little bit of sense.

HII THERE TOMMY!!
I came here to say how I think I am kin with furina from genshin impact and is so funny because I dont know shit about genshin I just know stuff about me furina because I found stuff about my trailer and my apparent execution and had been obsessed over finding out more stuff about it or in short words I had been brainrotting over it so hard
In canon lore apparently I played the role of the hydro archon (aka the god of justice) FOR 500 YEARS even if I wasn't a true god or archon and I was just a normal human keeping a painful and lonely act that could easily break if I just slipped up a little or messed something up in my facade and all my hard work along with all my psychological torture would have not meant a thing and I would be condemming the lives of my people
Why? Well there was a prophecy about how fonteine my nation would be drowned under waters for sins that my people were born with and cannot be absolved, and only I, the hydro archon would live weeping on my throne
For this focalors the actual god created me basically an human version of her for then cursing me so I could live until she died since then I had been playing the role of a god even if I wasn't not being able to breath or to feel for myself every waking hour of my live for 500 years acting as someone else in complete loneliness
Very heavy I know—
In the end focalors got the death sentence to save the people from the prophecy and told me to live as the human, she wished "we" could have live as or something like that and now rhat's how currently my lore is and I am trying to rest because dude 500 years of opera of an act of a burden put on my shoulders— yeah I did needed that rest heh—
I am so sorry for rambling so much the lore is so awfully heavy
The thing with me being a fictionkin of her, furina is weird because its like I'm in between questioning a bit mote and now fully kinfirming a bit weird if you ask me!
Anyways again sorry for rambling and tysm for listening to me hehe <:]]!!

like you were written for me
summary: in which i read a lot of pretty things that remind me of a lot of genshin impact characters.
featuring: albedo (hurt/comfort), dainsleif (angst, reader has passed away), diluc (hurt/comfort), childe (fluff and angst?), kaeya (fluff), kazuha, thoma (fluff), venti, xiao (fluff), xingqiu (fluff), zhongli (fluff) x g!n reader (sepereately) (i'm pretty sure there are no gendered terms, but this isn't proofread, so if there are, please let me know so i can fix it)!
cw: implied eating disorder/body dysmorphia in albedo's, mentions of childe's real name
personal favorites: albedo, childe, xingqiu
albedo — the role of a lover is exactly the same as the role of an artist. if i love you, i must make you aware of the things you do not see." james baldwin
albedo doesn't normally return home until late in the night, his research ruined his sense of time. so you thought you had time—time to clean up and keep this little incident a secret from your lover. but you thought wrong, because the first thing albedo noticed upon entering the dark bedroom was your form balled up in the middle of your shared bed with tears staining your cheeks. he took cautious, quiet steps towards you, not failing to notice the half eaten plate of food sitting neglected on the bedside table.
taking you into his arms, he gently questioned, "have a bad day?"
you bobbed your head once, answering him. "'m sorry, i was doing so well," your voice trailed off, your words choked by tears.
the sound of your sadness pained the alchemist endlessly, he hated to see you like this, especially over an issue like this. "it's okay darling," he cooed. "we all have bad days, it's just our brains bullying us." his arms enveloped you, his hands moving up and down your back in a comforting motion. "mind to tell me what your brain told you today?"
"the same old same old," you took a shakey breath. "i couldn't stop looking in that dumb mirror, bedo. i couldn't stop scrutinizing what i saw in it."
his hands moved up from your back to your hair, then around to cup your face. "you may not like what you see, but would you like to see what i see?" he pulled your face close, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead.
he then got up to rummage through his bag; it was brown and made of leather, the bag he always took with him, the bag he was never seen travelling without. after some seconds, he pulled out a sketchbook. though you had accompanied albedo when painting on many occassions, you had never seen this particular book.
coming back to where you sat on the bed, he gingerly positioned himself next to you and opened the book, flipping through its contents.
your eyes widened as he turned the delicate pages—they were all filled with you. sketches of you when you cooking, playing with klee, talking about something that excited you, resting your eyes after a long day of work. sketches of you that were made with such care, with such love.
"[name], i began to draw in order to better myself in the field of alchemy. in that time, i became an artist. but i am no longer just an artist—i am also a lover. your lover."
he flipped to the latest drawing in the book. it pictured you in a field of flowers, a crown of cecilias adorning your head, your mouth curved into a bright smile.
"and the role of a lover," he continued, "is exactly the same as the role of an artist. if i love you, i must make you aware of the things you do not see." he placed the sketchbook in your hands, using one hand to softly grasp your chin, his eyes deeply looking into yours, as if exploring their endless depths.
"you do not see your own beauty, but when i look at you that is all i see."
he pressed his forehead to yours, his words lingering in the air. in this moment, you felt a tear escape your eye; this time, not one of sadness but of joy.
childe — "have you ever seen the hell in somene's eyes and loved it anyways?" maram rimawi
you and your lover walked lazily along yaoguang shoal; the gentle seabreeze carrying the essence of the ocean to your senses, the sound of waves crashing into one another filling the comfortable silence. ajax was always the busy man, his harbinger status brought boundless responsibilities along with it. so moments like these—moments where it was just you, him, and the world—were truly precious.
hand in hand the two of you walked with a comfortable rythym. staring out at the ocean, you couldn't help but compare the water's hue to that of ajax's eyes. you tugged at his wrist, stopping his movements. a questioning look adorned his face. you merely stood on your toes and lovingly planted your lips against his. love overcame his confusion, his left arm wrapped around your torso while his right hand rested against the side of your face.
backing away, you looked deeply into his eyes. they were just lke the sea: an alluring blue, a depth that seemed deeper than eternity.
"your eyes are beautiful," you breathed.
his eyes widened at this. "you think so?"
you nodded your response, entranced by his gaze.
"well, maybe you shouldn't. these eyes have seen too much to be pretty," he looked scorned by the thought of himself.
"no, they've seen too much to be pure. but no amount of hell can take away their beauty."
he frowned, creating some distance between you both. "how can you see the hell in someone's eyes and love it anyways?"
pulling him closer to you once more, you whispered, "i'd rather face an eternity of hell with you than spend a second in heaven alone."
dainsleif — "maybe forever was a word meant for memories and not people."
the tired knight eased his back against a tree, relaxing his shoulders for the first time in a while. his eyes were fixated on the view beyond the hill he decided to rest on: a vast ocean, deep like an unsolved mystery, with light from the lowering sun shimmering against its waves. it was beautiful, he thought. but not as beautiful as the posy that laid in his grip. white petals hanging from an iridescent stem, the bundle of inteyvat flowers littering his hands was second to only one: you.
but he didn't have you anymore, now did he?
all that remained of you were these flowers, carefully kept in a porcelain vase you had crafted together, and your memory. he found it cruel in its comdey, how memories were all he now possessed: the memories of his homeland, of his family, of his men, of you.
chuckling sadly, his lashes fluttered closed.
"dain!"
hearing the smile in your voice, dain turned his neck to face you.
"what've you got there, love?"
you hastily brought your hands to your front, extending your hands to present a bouquet of inteyvats to him. "i found these in an old antique store," your voice was soft—tender even.
"i do, i do," the flowers exchanged hands. "i love you even more for giving them to me."
"so you'll love me forever then?" you teased.
"forever and then some."
the sounds of ships drifting across the water below spurred him from his daytime reverie, keeping him from getting lost in his memories, in your memory.
"forever, huh?"
he sighed. it was a soft and somber sound, one dainsleif found himself making far too often these days. "maybe forever was a word meant for memories and not people—not for you, not for us."
diluc — "i burned so long, so quiet, you must have wondered if i loved you back. i did, i did, i do." annelyse gelman
"where are they?" diluc managed to cough up those words despite nobody being around to hear them. pure rage clouded his vision as he arched over his desk, head in his hands.
you had been missing for four days now. four days since you had dissapeared in the midst of the afternoon sun. four days the heir spent looking and asking and tracking. four days of desperation, of loneliness, of regret.
desperation to find you, loneliness without you, and regret of all the things he failed to say to you.
the last time you were together, he hadn't been his best self. he ignored his feelings for you in a hope that they would dissapear, in a hope that they wouldn't end up hurting you. but, in his efforts to save you from himself, hurt is exactly what he did to you.
"can we please just talk, 'luc?" you pleaded with him.
"apologies, but we have nothing pressing to discuss at the moment." he tried to keep his voice even and reserved.
as you turned to leave, diluc didn't fail to notice the tears escaping your eyes.
oh how he wished he talked to you then. because, if he did, you wouldn't be missing from his grasp now. suddenly, adelaide came crashing through his office doors.
"master diluc," she began. "we've found them! they're staying in a small house in the outskirts of qingce village."
"i thought we checked there already?" "we checked qingce, but not its surronding area, sir." she said, voice heavy with guilt.
diluc wasted no more time in his office. he was quick to grab his coat and greatsword, rushing off to you and your hideaway.
it was already late when he left, the moon acting as his only light source. normally, he wouldn't trouble himself to travelling all the way to the qingce area in such a short time, but tonight was different. he would trouble himself for you.
eventually, a small house began to come into view. diluc didn't know how many hours had passed, all he knew was you were finally back in reach. now standing in front of the door, he raised his hand and knocked on the door. in the past, he would've hesitated with you, but he knew he couldn't afford to hesitate any longer.
he heard movement behind the wooden door: the shuffling of feet—your feet. as you opened the door, your eyes gaped at the sight of an out-of-breath man dressed in black staring back at you. his eyes told you more than his mouth had in the entire past month: longing, aching, regret.
before you could overcome your chock to speak, he spoke. "i'm sorry," he dropped his head. "i'm so, so sorry. i shouldn't have pushed you away for all this time."
you fiddled with your fingers. "you don't have to say that, mister diluc. you don't have to lie to make me feel better."
"'luc," he raised his head to look you in the eyes. "call me 'luc."
"no, it's okay. i won't be a bother to you anymore," you gave him a sad smile, holding back tears.
"but it's not okay. i wasn't honest with you from the start but i should've been. so let me be honest now." he softly held your head in his hands. "i've burned so long, so quiet, you must have wondered if i loved you back. i did, i did, i do." it sounded as if he, like you, was on the verge of tears. you mimicked the way he held you, pulling your foreheads together.
you both stood that way for a while, relishing in the painful comfort of each other's company, bathed in the moonlight's glow.
kaeya — "what is a home if not the first place you learn to run from?" clementine von radics
something had felt off with your boyfriend as of late: he'd been less touchy, more avoidant, and his usual sly comments had lost their edge. you wondered if you did something to him, said something to him, something that was the cause of his change. deep in your thoughts, you walked mindlessly around mondstadt—the city's ambience bringing some peace to counteract your storming insides. as you rounded the corner near good hunter, you ran into the man that consumed your every waking thought.
"kae!" you called out to him.
the cavalry captain stopped in his tracks, his expression hesitant. "hey there, lover." he gave a little wave and attempted to feign normalcy, but his voice was far too strained for that.
"kaeya," you held his eyes. "is everything okay"
a questioning look. "what do you mean?"
you sighed, shoulders sagging. "it's just, you've been kinda avoidant lately. did i do something to upset you?"
a myriad of emotions swirled in his uncovered eye, as if he knew what he wanted to say but not how to say it.
"no," he gave you a soft yet sad smile. "in fact it's quite the opposite. you make me so happy; like i'm finally home." he paused. he didn't know if should say this next part, but he did know that keeping the truth in the dark didn't keep it from breing brought to light. reluctantly, he continued, "and what is a home if not the first place you learn to run from?"
understanding took over your features. as a nationless, fatherless, step-fatherless, brotherless, horseless man that had always had a house but never a home, he was afraid of getting too comfortable with you—with the warmth and security you provided.
"oh kaeya," you cupped his face. "it's a place to come home to at the end of everyday, a place to take off your shoes and rest your feet, a place for you and for me."
smiling down at your pretty face, he wrapped his arms around your waist, pushing you flush against him, pulling you in for a honeyed kiss. the sudden affection normally didn't bother you, but you were right in front of a restaurant. the two of you basically had an audience. noticing the red painting your cheeks, the knight flashed a teasing smirk.
now that's the kaeya you knew and loved.
thoma — "we'd be a wonderful us." keira cass
if you could've had any power, it would have been the power to read minds. his mind, to be specific.
you looked longingly at the boy in front of you. he was so focused on knitting sweaters for the local street cats he failed to see you staring at him in awe. even had he caught you, he wouldn't have minded. you had been friends for so long, afterall. but you didn't want to be friends anymore; you didn't want to be "[name] and thoma", "him and i", "me and him", any longer. you wanted to be "us."
lost in thought, you gasped in surprise as something poked your head. "hey! i finished up that last sweater," he presented the clothing on it's new owner, an adorable calico cat. "doesn't it look just dashing on him?"
you pursed your lips, "it's perfect."
"baha, isn't it? well, now that we're done here, i think we should treat ourselves to some dinner at the komore teahouse."
as you nodded your agreement, he took your hand and helped you off the ground. he doesn't let it go once you were upright though; he kept your hands locked, fingers securely entertwined as if they were always meant to be there. you could feel the heat warming your cheeks. oh archons, you hoped he was too busy talking about what food he was gonna order to notice.
thoma did notice, of course, and he was pleased with your reaction. unbeknownst to you, he too wanted to be more than what you both were now.
you two treated yourselves to a lovely dinner: unagi chazuke, tri-flavored skewers, wakatakeni, sakura mochi. needless to say, you were grateful that thoma's "retainer of the kamisato clan" title protected you from a hefty bill.
seated across from each other at the table, you entertained yourselves. laughter and comfort filled the air in your corner of the room, all other patrons fading into the background.
but there was a moment of silence when cups occupied both your lips, the conversation drying your throats. it was then you could hear the chatter of the other patrons in the space:
"oh, what lovely sweethearts they are!" "do you remember when we first looked at each other like that, hon?" "oh to have a man look at me the way he's looking at them-"
all their statements were flustering, but that last comment was especially quick to heat your cheeks.
"ehe, i guess everyone thinks we're a pair," you cuckled awkwardly. "don't worry though, thoma, i wouldn't disrespect you like that."
a pregnant pause.
"what if i want you to?"
your eyes met his, widening significantly. "well—i-i mean, i wouldn't mind...doing that..." your voice stuttered, getting quieter with every word. you weren't even sure if your following, "i'd love for you and i to be an us," was audible.
it must have been though, as the blonde in front of you chuckled and took your hand in his, lifting it to his lips, leaving a kiss there. "i think we'd make a wonderful us, my darling."
xiao — "no human being has ever stood so close to my soul as you stand." james joyce
the time between protecting liyue from darkness and the sunlight peeking under your bedroom's blinds was the yaksha's favorite time of day. seeing your calm, resting figure with your chest moving in a relaxed pattern brought nothing but peace to his mind.
it meant you had a good rest; and to have slept soundly in the night was to have a good day, and he wanted nothing less than good days for you. and knowing you trusted him enough to wait for you to awaken by your bedside was xiao's greatest honor.
he didn't truly understand what was going on between you two, but he was grateful for your trust, for your unashamed closeness. as an adeptus, he was very used to solitude, so much so that he seemed to detest intimacy. and he did. or, at least he thought he did.
you ruined all that he had thought he was. all those preconcieved ideas about himself, all those characteristics he self-endowed went out the window when you came into the picture.
all of a sudden he didn't want to be alone. he wanted to be with you. all of a sudden, he didn't want to spend his nights chasing demons by himself. he wanted to spend them chasing shooting stars with you. and he just didn't get it—what happened, what changed, why he felt this way.
pondering these questions as he knelt beside your bed, his arm mindlessly drifted over your form, rubbing your arms and back. the motion was so comforting but it stirred you from your slumber nonetheless.
eyes prying open, you breathed, "xiao?"
"good morning," he lifted your hand and pressed a kiss there.
"well, this is a nice surprise," your tired smile shifted into one of humor. "why do you look constipated?"
"i look what?"
you giggled.
"i was just thinking, love."
you tried your best to sober up, and asked through small laughs, "thinking about what?"
"about you." he looked at you so lovingly. " about how no human being has ever stood so close to my soul as you stand." he leaned over you, resting his forearm against the mattress, bringing himself face-to-face with you. "thank you for that."
xingqiu — "i wanted to write down exactly what i felt, but somehow the paper stayed empty. and i could not have described it any better." wtm
xingqiu's hand cramped with its position under the feather quill. "ha," a low sound emitted from under his breath, a sign that his fustration over the letter he was witing you was beginning to overcome him.
it seemed to be teasing him, the paper in all of its blankness. as a successful, published author, writing about his passions and interests was supposed to be the easiest, most straightforward thing in the entire world, and what was he more interested in than you?
nothing. literally nothing.
he would do anything with you, anything for you. see a performance at the heyu teahouse? sure. go jueyun chili picking in qingce village? why, he would love to. eat a bowl of stir-fried carrots for a date night? he'd eat two. and xingqiu hates carrots.
but that's just what you did to him. you turned his hatred into love and smoothed out all the rough patches. you made him feel crazy, sick in the head. and he wanted to express this to you in the best way he knew how to: in words, in writing. he wanted to immortilize you the same way he would any idea that popped into his head and stuck. because you popped into his life and stuck too.
but when he tried to describe his feelings for you, no words could come to mind—despite the fact that you yourself lived there rent free. he looked through every dictionary, asked locals around the harbor, but to no avail. there just wasn't a word strong enough, a word accurate enough, to define the feelings in his heart.
with the sun beginning to set, he knew he was running out of time to find one before his rondevouz with you at xinyue kiosk. rubbing his temples in defeat, he realized something. so, he packaged the unused paper and left the quill on the table.
approaching the restaurant's doors, he heard a sweet sound call his name. "xingqiu!"
he rushed over towards your voice, pulling you into a light embrace. "i have something to give you," he began.
your eyes lit up at his statement, but he raised a finger to your lips before you could respond. "nuh uh uh, hush. you'll have to wait 'till after we eat," his tone was thoughtful at best and mischievous at worst.
dinner was, as expected of the xinyue kiosk, was grandiose in its experience and delectable in its taste. xingqiu knew that'd be hard to beat, but he was hoping what he had to say might be more memorable for you than the food.
he handed you the envelope he packaged before leaving his home earlier tonight, saying, "go ahead, open it up." you did as he said, confusion quickly taking over your features at the sight of a plain piece of paper.
"love, you know i'm a writer. i like to write about everything i love, so, naturally, i'd want to write about you too. as it turns out, i couldn't think of a way to convey my love for you in writing. i wanted to write down exactly how i felt, but somehow the paper stayed empty. and i don't think i could have described it any better," he chuckled softly, cupping your face in his hands. "hopefully this will suffice." he captured your lips gently and you could feel the smile in his.
seperating, you look into his eyes. "oh, it sufficed."
zhongli — "i will love you if i never see you again, and i will love you if i see you everyday." lemony snicket
it had been a long time since you last encountered the old god. his previously loose hair was now tied up all prim and tidy in a low ponytail, his historic robes were exchanged with a sophisticated suit and timeless accessories. despite his different appearance, you knew he was the same rex lapis he was all those years ago.
right now, he was seated at the round, stone table in the middle of the lake at mount aocang. you approached him from behind, an offering in hand.
placing the bowl on the table, you spoke: "i hope this dish is still to your liking, morax."
his lids opened at your voice, revealing a pair of familiar golden eyes.
"ah jewelry soup," he smiled. "you always were a gem." he motioned for you to take a seat, his hand pointing at the stool across from him.
you spent a good time chatting, reminiscing about times past. eventually, the conversation moved from nostalgia to current joy. he recounted the events of late: the trade of his gnosis, his shift into mundane life. he seemed happy and at peace, and that brought you endless joy. you remembered just how brutal life was for him in the past, with the fall of cities and gods comes the rise of suffering.
you know you added to his suffering leaving him all that time ago. seeing him so fufilled now prompted you to apologize for that. "morax, i don't mean to bring up bad memories, but i'm sorry for dissapearing all that time ago." you reached out to him, placing your hands over his. "i'm staying for good now, we can even make a contract out of it," you chuckled. "i know how much you love those."
he gave you a kind smile. "[name], you recall our parting but you don't recall our parting words." he squeezed your hands, "i said, 'i will love you if i never see you again, and i will love you if i see you everyday."
he leaned over the table, reaching out to grab your chin. "that much has not changed. it never will."

irl !
you watch, mesmerised, as diluc expertly pours a variety of wines into glasses without spilling a drop and hands it out to the people at the bar. "classic 'luc, always trying to impress the ladies," kaeya snickers, and diluc's face turns firetruck red, "shut up, kaeya." then he turns to you, face still slightly flushed, "what would you like, y/n?" "hmm..." you tap your chin thoughtfully, "what would you recommend?" honestly you couldn't care less about what you drink as long as it's strong enough to dull your emotions for a while. you've been in a total mess since xiao 'broke up' with you. (could you really call it breaking up if you were never together?) it's quite embarrassing that you, who was known across the internet as a flirt, had cried over the same man almost 17 times in the past seven days.
"well, i'm not really one for wine, so if you're asking me i'd go for grape juice," diluc replies, using one hand to wipe down the counter with a rag. the bar is rather quiet compared to normal, as diluc had closed early for the night so those of you who were here could relax without worrying about rabid fans or reporters. you can't help but crack a smile, "a wine tycoon who doesn't like wine? that's not something you see every day." "i get that a lot," diluc rubs the back of his neck before glaring pointedly at kaeya, blatantly insinuating that he's the one who constantly makes fun of him for it. "it's true though, diluc has always been unromantic enough to prefer juice over wine. maybe he just doesn't have the patience for fermentation, and that's why he never- ow!" diluc slams the rag onto kaeya's hand before deadpanning, "sorry, it was an accident."
"anyways, if you're looking for something stronger you should ask rosaria," diluc points a thumb at the woman at the edge of the bar who's idly swirling her drink. thanking him, you slide over to her, "hey, uh, rosaria, was it? what are you drinking?" she glances at you out of the corner of her eye, "you're that streamer, aren't you? the one who's in a whole load of hot water right now." your eyes widen, "you know who i am?!" "who wouldn't? your face is all over the internet right now," she states calmly, though she quietens when she notices your expression. "yeah... all because of this one stupid guy," you roll your eyes, placing your elbows on the table and balancing your chin on your hands. rosaria laughs, a genuine sound this time, "i can tell you definitely need a strong drink. the one i'm having is fire-water, though i'll warn you it isn't for those with a weak stomach." "okay! i'll take whatever i can get, if i'm being honest," you respond before ordering a glass of the smoky alcohol from diluc.
just then, the door slams open and venti enters with a loud strum of his lyre, followed by albedo. "tis i, venti the bard!" "sorry, we're late, i was finishing up an experiment," albedo murmurs an apology to kaeya before seating himself between the two of you. "and you must be the infamous y/n," he faces you and shakes your hand, "it's an honour to meet you in person." "the pleasure's all mine," you grin, ignoring the slight sting that comes with the label of 'infamous'. "my dear diluc, the usual please!" venti spins around on the high chair at the bar joyfully, only to pretend to sob the next second when diluc replies dryly, "you can have it when you pay off your tab." "hey venti, i'll cover your drinks tonight if you play us a tune or two," kaeya chimes in. "really?! then prepare yourself to be sucked away by the music, for i, venti, know all songs of the past, present, and future! let's begin!"
as venti begins crooning a ballad about heartbreak, albedo randomly says, "love sucks, doesn't it?" "you can say that again," you chuckle in reply, nursing your drink. "yet somehow it's the most wonderful thing in the world, and perhaps that's why everyone craves it," his teal eyes meet yours, and suddenly it feels like this man can see into your soul. self-conscious, you sip from your glass to avoid his piercing gaze, "i guess so. must be why everyone says it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." "you have loved, and you have lost. do you agree with them?" the blonde man questions you directly, not bothering to beat around the bush. "woah! most people would ask something like that with a little more tact, you know," you answer with a start. he blinks once, as if calculating where he made a mistake in his phrasing, "i'm sorry. i'm not that good with people." neither was xiao, you think to yourself, before mentally scolding yourself for always connecting every little thing to him.
"you didn't answer my question," albedo's factual tone jolts you out of your thoughts. "oh! um... yes. unfortunately, i do agree with them," you scramble for a coherent answer, "to me, love is something else that can only be understood fully when you experience it yourself. it's not flawless like how it's portrayed in the media or anything, it's messy and imperfect at times, yet that's what makes it worth fighting for - the fact that both parties are putting in effort to make it work." you swear you feel tears form in your eyes as your voice cracks in the final sentence, so you quickly duck your head under the guise of drinking once more.
"that's an interesting take," albedo sips his water, then he stares at you once more, "but maybe you haven't really lost your love yet." "what do you mean?" "i mean that you said love was worth fighting for, and i think that both of you have not stopped fighting for each other yet," albedo states, tilting his head. you're so shocked you don't know what to say. you know that you hadn't moved on, but you've been thinking that xiao already did. "how do you know?" your voice comes out in a whisper. "sometimes venti says too much about things that should probably just be kept between friends," albedo smiles at you, "as for you, i tend to read too much into people, but even a baby could tell that you haven't given up yet." your cheeks warm - are you really that obvious? "it's just my opinion, but i think that's a good thing. like you said, love has its flaws; what matters is how you work through those flaws," he finishes his glass. "thank you... i think i really needed to hear that," you murmur, and albedo smiles gently as diluc refills his glass, "no worries. it's just the abstract ramblings of an alchemist anyway."
as venti switches to a more upbeat song which has kaeya cheering and rosaria threatening to smash a glass on his head if he carries on being this noisy while diluc observes with a smile playing about his lips, you and albedo share a private glance before clinking your glasses together, "well then, to love!"

phone call !
outgoing call to xiao at 1.17 a.m.
y/n: ...hello?
xiao: y/n, is that you?
y/n: no, this is actually your number one fan scaramouche! who decided to call you at 1 in the morning for no reason! obviously it's me.
xiao: oh. yeah, that makes sense. although at this point maybe i would have preferred it to be scaramouche.
y/n: what?! why?!
xiao: well, you're mad at me, aren't you?
y/n: no shit, genius. i'm absolutely fucking furious.
xiao: um... i can see that.
y/n: shouldn't you be apologising or something?! or being scared that i'm angry?
xiao: to be honest, i'm terrified. i don't want you to hate me. but i don't think you're sober right now, so i probably shouldn't say too much. plus if i'm going to apologise to you, i'm going to do it right.
y/n: you better. as in apologise.
xiao: of course.
y/n: do you even know what i've been going through the past week?!
xiao: no, but i really hope you haven't been harassed or anything again by my fans, because if you i have i'm going to-
y/n: shut up! archons, you're so fucking annoying. i hate you for being so cute and caring to the point i just want to slap your face. with my mouth preferably. which if you didn't understand means kiss.
xiao: ...
y/n: and you know what? i still do. i still fucking like you and want to kiss you, even after your stupid self broke my heart.
xiao: y/n, i know you most likely won't remember this, but i'm so so so sorry. and i know words won't do anything right now, but i swear i never meant to hurt you.
y/n: yeah, that's the worst part. i know you were thinking of me, and that makes it even harder to hate you like my friends say i should. for archons' sake, i'm all the way in mondstadt and i still can't get you off my mind.
xiao: if it makes you feel better, you haven't left my mind either.
y/n: *wry laugh* we're just a right pair of idiots, aren't we? both of us like the other but we aren't together.
xiao: y/n, maybe i should hang up, because i don't think you'd want your future self to tell me this.
y/n: xiao, shut the fuck up and listen. i like you, a lot more than i should considering what a dick you've been. and i don't think i'll get over you, at least not anytime soon.
xiao: y/n, i-
y/n: I LOVE YOU!
xiao: wait, what?!
y/n: *door opens*
???: yo, it's been 10 minutes. let's head downstairs again, okay? wait, who are you on the phone with?
y/n: nobody, let's go.
y/n: *whispers* i miss you, xiao. fuck our jobs, just let yourself be happy for once.
xiao: y/n, i promise i'll apologise and tell you the truth when you're back in liyue. i'll learn to be better at opening up for you too. please take care... *softly* i love you too.

p.s. writing on mobile is hard
Tumblr media
one thing often overlooked was the gentle breeze on a summer day. well, in most places anyway. in mondstadt however, it was seen as a sign of good fortune ahead. in the land of the anemo god, the wind was thought of to be a way for its citizens to know that barbatos was with them, offering them his blessing. in a way, it was true- to a degree. when the wind in the nation was constant for a certain amount of time, barbatos was taking the time to listen to those in mondstadt. he couldn't do much with blessings, other than bestowing someone with an anemo vision, but he tried his best for the happiness of his people.
today was one of those days across the thriving land. the anemo god, currently known as the windborne bard named venti, was resting on one of the highest points in the city of mondstadt. the hands of the statue of barbatos. overthinking the spot often gave him a headache. he was in his own hands in a way- he thought of it as a metaphorical way of saying that he could rely on himself. then when he started thinking further into it- best that he leave that train of thought fade. now, what were the citizens of his beloved city doing now?
venti called upon the winds at that moment with a snap of his fingers, asking them for the voices of the people. it made him feel less lonely, more connected with those around him. as he closed his eyes, focusing his attention on the lively sounds of the city, he picked up on something new. well, that didn't happen every day-
a new bard was in town.
the realization made him open his eyes, sitting up as he willed the winds to focus on the voice. the person had a lovely voice, he had to admit. upon further inspection, the anemo god picked up another sound- a violin accompanying the song the mysterious bard was singing. well, at least he thought it was a violin. it sounded slightly off. not out of tone, just different. huh. he shook his head, standing up. he let his concentration break for a moment as he created a wind current, allowing him to return to the ground. his feet landed with a thud. as he brushed some dust off of his clothing, venti swiftly focused back on the sound of the new bard. as he began to follow the path the winds guided him through, he thought about how something about the voice intrigued him. perhaps it was the underlying nervousness the winds allowed him to pick up. the other bards of mondstadt were incredibly confident, almost to the point of arrogance. the god had to admit that even he got that way sometimes, though never out loud. he couldn't help but lightly laugh at that thought. the nervousness couldn't be heard to the normal ears, that much he knew. it was simply something venti was familiar with, back in his early days as a bard. the slight tremble in the person's voice showed that they truly cared about their performance. it was adorable in a way, for lack of a better term. he smiled, the winds informing him that he was close to the source of the voice.
his slight smile turned into a wide grin as he realized where he was heading; the best tavern in teyvat, angel's share. it was a popular place for a bard to be, as there were always a large number of people there for a drink. made sense that a newer bard would be a bit nervous. venti looked around, confused when he didn’t find anyone performing. where were they- it took venti a moment before he saw that one of the tavern’s windows was open. well, that explained why the wind picked up on it. he decided to go into the tavern- he walked across town, he needed to recharge. plus, he wanted to meet the new performer.
the place was very crowded when he entered. granted, it always was, so the archon wasn’t surprised by this. he spotted a small crowd forming on the first floor- must be where the performer was. he headed over to the area. as he got closer, the violin sounding music grew louder. if it weren’t a violin, what else could it be? it took him more time than he would care to admit, but venti was eventually able to make his way through the crowd, close enough to be able to see the performer that had caught his attention from the other side of town.
that performer was you.
the bard didn’t know why he was expecting it to be someone he knew. maybe some acquaintance of his with some hidden musical talent that he could tease them about later on. oddly enough, he didn’t recognize you. perhaps a visitor from another nation? most likely, since the god made it a mission to remember everyone in town; maybe not by name, but he could at least recognize the faces of the citizens. if you were a mondstadt resident- oh boy, how awkward it would be that venti forgot about you.
unfortunately for him, venti hadn’t gotten to angel’s share fast enough to see much of your performance. the remainder of it lasted about thirty seconds. but to him, those thirty seconds were certainly not a waste.
“unlock the heavens in my mind”
you seemed lost in what you were doing, too busy focusing on the notes you played to notice everyone around you.
“follow my~”
you twirled, holding the note out.
“love, through the same secret door”
you spent a moment playing the last few notes of the song before very slowly removing the bow from the string. the music flew in the air for a moment longer, slowly echoing away as silence filled the air. the silence only lasted a moment before it was replaced with applause. your eyes had been closed throughout the performance; venti hadn't noticed until you had nearly jumped out of your skin when you took everyone in. he couldn't help but laugh a little at your reaction, joining the people applauding.
you were frozen for a while, even when the applause began to die down. at first, venti found it humorous- but as the seconds passed, he realized that you were too embarrassed by the attention to do anything properly. he didn't see that happen often from bards.
for reasons unknown, the archon took it upon himself to save you from any further embarrassment. he quickly walked over to your side, carefully taking your instrument from you just in case you dropped it. turning back to those expecting another song, he pulled a smile before speaking.
"well, that was a really great song, right!" from his peripheral vision, he saw you move a little, looking in his direction. he continued, "as much as we all want another one, i'm sad to say that that's all for tonight." he heard a complaint from somewhere on the second floor, but he paid no mind to it as he made his way over to your violin (he still wasn't sure) case. he quickly put it back in its place before heading over to you, who was still in the same spot as before. with a chuckle, he led you towards the entrance, making sure to take the case with him.
once the two of you got to the outside of the tavern, he silently watched as you took a deep breath. and another. and another. for a moment, he panicked, not knowing what to do in this situation. nerves rarely, if ever, got to him. how does one confirm someone with nerves? did this happen often with people?
"hey, are you okay?" the anemo god thought that asking was a good place to start. he contemplated on whether or not he should initiate physical touch. but based on the fact that he didn't know who you were, and in turn you most likely had no idea who he was, he decided against it. he just, rather awkwardly, stood there as he waited for you to collect yourself. once you did, you looked over to him, a small smile on your face.
"yeah," you nodded, finally getting a hold of yourself. "i think i'm fine now." since venti had finally gotten verbal confirmation from you, he was able to relax a bit.
"this might sound a bit odd but- what just happened back there?" the entire ordeal confused him- with the number of years he lived, it took a lot to do that.
you seemed to have forgotten about that, with the way your face flushed at the reminder. "well-" you nervously chuckled, rocking your weight on the heels of your feet. "you uhm, you see- there was- there were a lot more people than i had expected when i- when i- when i finished playing and it sort of just- sort of just threw me off guard." with the way your shoulders tensed whenever you stuttered, he could tell you noticed when you did so. "just not so used to the attention and quite frankly, didn't expect it. anyways, thank you for bringing me out..." you trailed off, and the bard immediately realized why.
"venti." he finished, giving a small wave as he did so.
you gave a small nod. "venti," you repeated. "well, nice to meet you!" you quickly told him your name, voice filled with clear enthusiasm.
he mirrored your previous action and repeated your name. "are you from around here? i don't think i recognize you."
"no no, not from around." you answered. it seemed as though you just realized your case was outside with you. you picked it up and brought it to your side before continuing. "travelled here from fontaine. sort needed a bit of adventure from home."
the archon nodded. "makes sense. why were you performing if you were going to get that nervous afterwards?" he didn't mean to sound so blunt, but it was the only way he knew to ask the question before he forgot about it.
apparently, you were once again thrown off, since it took you a moment to come up with a response. "one of the knights actually convinced me to try it once they heard me practicing just outside the gates- a brunette, about this tall, wears red, has this headband on that sort of looks like bunny ears- amber, i think it was?"
venti made a mental note to thank amber for pushing you to do it later. "one last question," he stated. "what was the instrument you were playing? can't seem to put my finger on the name of it."
"oh!" your eyes lit up as he asked the question. "it's a viola! sort of- actually almost exactly like- a violin. except the viola is a bit bigger in size, therefore slightly deeper notes than the violin."
"cool!" venti exclaimed, a grin on his face. "you sounded really good with it- maybe we can do a duet sometime?" when you frowned, he was quick to add. "oh, right! i'm a bard too." he pulled out his trusty lyre, holding it out to show you.
your face flushed again. "bard- bard?" you asked. "i'm not a- i never thought i was a- you think i could be a bard?" the way you said it reminded him of a time long ago, when he himself was so full of hope.
"yes, yes i do."

Hi!
My username is based off of my dog (her name is Daisy), but feel free to call me whatever!
Anyways, here’s the rules and request rules and etc!
Masterlist
Tumblr media
General Rules
•Read the A/N before reading, even if there isn’t anything there!
•If you request something, please make sure it follows the Guidelines (request rules)!
•Request whenever, but it may take a bit of time to write
•I love the idea of constructive criticism! If you have anything you’d like to tip me on either request it or comment
•I am a minor so any nsfw actions or other things result in either being blocked or just me not responding to you
•My blog is very simple! I don’t do a lot of things at a time so please don’t pressure me into doing much! I will do something when I get to it
•That’s basically it for the general rules!
Tumblr media
Request Rules
•I do not write nsfw because it makes me uncomfortable to write but I will allow thirsts and whatnot because hey, I get h-word too
•If you would like to keep a request private then please tell me that in the request! Otherwise all requests are public unless I don’t want them to be
•I don’t mind writing dark fics but please be specific on what content you want in the fic!
•If reader’s gender is not specified, they will be automatically gn
•I’m very sorry to all the male readers, but I will not write for character x male reader. I have no issue with it, but since I am a female, I’m not completely familiar with male anatomy and such and it would just be an awkward mess.
•I will not do anything nsfw related unless it’s responding to a thirst, but that doesn’t mean you can’t! You can send in anything nsfw but please leave me (per say, as a character) out of it!
•I don’t necessarily do events so please bare with me until I get the hang of things
•I don’t usually write drabbles/long fics, meaning I usually stay by the headcanon side but I will if you truly want it! I’d say I’m somewhat decent at writing
•That’s all I have to say!

🐚 A Birthday Amidst the Archipelago
Tumblr media
A/N: oneshot for my fav russian boys bday, i included the golden apple archipelago bc it was the most fun event/area I've experienced in genshin so far and I'll miss it a lot but at least it's inazuma and electro aether time, anyways hope you enjoy this and if you have suggestions/tips on writing or anything please lmk! I'm new to it all and I'm trying my best ;w; my friend proofread this tho and shes big brain so id say this one is pretty swaggy
→ pairing(s): Zhongli/Childe, Aether/Venti (kinda platonic tbh), Venti and Dvalin vibing
→ word count: ~ 3k
→ cw: alcohol
→ ao3
🏖️
Zhongli sensed a large being coming from the skies of Duyun Ruins. He did not want to believe it, but his doubts were soon confirmed.
Dvalin descended from the clouds with a heavy thud, sending the living creatures around either running or flying. Mounted on the Dragon of the East were Venti and Aether; The bard wore a pair of sunglasses and a light attire that shocked Zhongli to the core, he had thought the anemo archon could not get any more ludicrous, but it appears he was mistaken.
A slight frown grew on his face watching the scene and the geo archon couldn’t help but raise his palm to his face, sighing. On the flip side, Childe was astonished; his eyes sparkled observing Dvalin, considering what the outcome would be if they were to fight.
2 days earlier
“Traveler,
It has been some time since we last saw each other. I do hope your ventures are going smoothly.
I am writing to you to request assistance with an event that will take place two days from now. As you may know, Childe’s birthday is on the 20th of this month and I have been finding it hard to come up with a suitable gift. I wish to surprise him but nothing that fits my criteria comes to mind, in addition to the fact I am still adjusting to mortal life and their festivals.
If you do not mind and, of course, if you are free that day, I hope you can help me with this matter.
Zhongli”
After sending his letter to Aether, Zhongli straightened his shoulders on the stool at one of Heyu Tea House’s tables, raising a cup of steaming tea to his mouth, and waited for his guest to arrive.
“Receiving an invitation from Mr. Zhongli first sure feels nice,” a voice shouted coming from the stairs.
Zhongli glanced at the harbinger who took a seat by his side, “Childe, do you have any plans for your birthday?”
Childe widened his eyes slightly, “Birthday?” He raised his hand thoughtfully to his face. “Oh, my birthday! Hm… Is Mr. Zhongli planning on giving me some type of gift?” The harbinger smiled playfully.
“Please answer my question.”
“Nope! None at all.”
In actuality, Childe should be busy taking care of the Fatui’s business around Liyue; unfortunately for his underlings, he was going to do whatever he wanted either way. Additionally, he had a feeling Mr. Zhongli’s question was not trivial, and speculated the archon probably wanted to make plans.
“I see."
Unexpectedly, instead of proceeding on that topic, Zhongli said nothing more as he took another sip of his tea.
Despite the surprising lack of further development, he forgot about it as soon as Zhongli started to talk about a Ruin Hunter he encountered the prior day in the fields.
He knew by now what topics intrigued Childe's simple warrior mind, and that alone had Childe rambling about fighting tactics and his own experiences to Zhongli, occasionally trying to convince the archon to fight him, which he politely refused.
Meanwhile, at the Golden Apple Archipelago...
"I could really use a hand over here, Venti!" Aether's cry for help could barely be heard over the shrieking group of hilichurls advancing one after the other.
"But I-"
After unleashing a wind vortex from his palm, Aether glared at the bard, who was leisurely plucking the strings of his lyre on top of a rock. "Playing a battle song isn't helping!" He cut Venti off, resulting in the end of Venti's untimely concert with lots of whining.
After jumping off the rock, the bard shot an arrow that sent the group of monsters flying altogether.
The pair had a short-lived moment of relief, but soon the eerie sound of a horn was heard, indicating that more enemies were on their way. Aether groaned while Venti giggled nervously, and so, they had to return to their combat stances.
Not long after engaging, the traveler heard a short sound that made him stop his blade.
“Oh, I’ve got mail,” Aether walked a few steps from the fighting, reading the message while leaving the bard to get the monsters’ attention.
Venti's eyes widened at the sudden rush of monsters coming directly at him, though luckily, he sent them flying once again.
“Woah~ Don’t do that so suddenly, traveler, so mean!”
After reading Zhongli’s message, Aether was deep in thought, looking around as if searching for something, until his eyes met the green-colored ones of the anemo archon that reciprocated the eye contact, with a touch of wonder.
Zhongli opened the new mail he received, analyzing the few words Aether had sent.
“Meet us by Duyun Ruins at 9 in the morning, bring Childe with you.”
“Meet us? If I am not mistaken, Paimon has been staying with Xiangling, and didn’t show any signs of wanting to leave any time soon. Perhaps she can easily travel back and forth,” Zhongli thought to himself.
Present Day, Duyun Ruins
Jumping from the dragon’s back, Venti beamed, “Morax! Long time no see~!” Arms wide open as he threw himself towards his old friend. But before he got too close, Zhongli shielded himself, and instead of a hug, Venti’s face was compressed against the solid surface of the geo shield.
Venti staggered a step back from the impact, raising his hand to his cheek, now starting to swell, “Ow!” He pouted.
Zhongli tried to keep his cool, throwing a look at the two boys who recently arrived, waiting for an explanation.
Aether catches on the meaningful gaze and reassures, “Don’t worry, I think we avoided being noticed by anyone.”
“Yeah, Dvalin here is… Well, he tries to be discreet when flying around. After all, I was the one who taught him that~" Venti put a hand on the dragon's body while the other gave Zhongli a thumbs up.
"Saying you were the one who taught him does not reassure me one bit…" Zhongli’s veins were protruding from distress by now. "Aside from that, aren't you supposed to be more careful not to expose your identity in front of the common folk?"
The three other men stared at Zhongli in confusion, exchanging looks between themselves, "Common folk?" Venti asked. Childe was the first to realize he was probably talking about him and began laughing at the Zhongli's seemingly forgetfulness.
"Morax, you sure only remember what you want, huh. Even I know from the traveler's stories that this boy here is the eleventh harbinger of the Fatui. If that harbinger lady took my gnosis, I'm sure this kid knows my identity by now," Venti reassured while Aether slowly nodded, feeling second-hand embarrassment.
Zhongli was at a loss for words, raising his fist to his mouth, awkwardly coughing. On the other hand, the harbinger found the situation quite funny and patted Morax's back a few times while giggling.
Zhongli met Aether's eyes, "Nevertheless, what I desire to know is why that bard and his dragon are here?"
"Well, you’ll see when we get there," Aether reassured, getting back on the dragon's back along with Venti.
Childe cheerfully jumped on, extending his hand down to the geo archon who bashfully accepted, pointedly ignoring the meaningful grins the two other boys directed at him. And with little effort, Dvalin took off to the Golden Apple Archipelago.
The Snezhnayan boy's eyes gleamed with excitement from his first-ever experience that high up, sitting between behind Aether and in front of Zhongli.
Though, his laxity almost made the reddish mask on his hair fly away, luckily being rescued by the man behind him.
"Thank you!" The powerful gushes of wind made his words difficult to understand, yet enough for Zhongli to understand them.
If any normal person would travel through the clouds in the back of a dragon for the first time in their life, surely they would practice caution or be a little wary of their surroundings.
However, because Childe was Childe, an expert in adapting fast to just about anything, the journey on the skies was far from frightening.
A few minutes had passed and the boys were already close to their destination, and with his usual carefree expression, Venti looked back at the men behind him, yelling as Dvalin descended, "Hold on tight!"
With another loud thud, Dvalin settled at the northwestern part of Twinning Isle. Aether grew anxious in anticipation, waiting for Childe to see the preparations that he and Venti had come up with in such a short timeframe.
They had the inspiration from Alice's surprise for Klee, though not as crafty as she was. With the help of Tubby back in the Serenitea Pot, he managed to decorate the place nicely with newly crafted objects.
Umbrellas and chairs painted a light shade of sky blue sat next to fishing rods, Sea Ganodermas and conches decorated the sand in a path leading to a gazebo, which had seashells and starfishes hang from the wooden ceiling, surrounded by curtains.
And inside of it, one chest stored miscellaneous things, while the one next to it contained something that Venti declared extremely necessary: summer clothing he managed to acquire. In addition to the clothes he prepared, the anemo archon was also tasked with providing the food and drinks.
Visibly so as there were at least three bottles of either dandelion or osmanthus wine for every single dish on the table. Which, of course, was all paid for with the traveler's Mora.
All in all, the table was charmingly organized. A cake with a whale drawn on top of it sat in the middle of it all, while balloons were tied to the wooden table.
Upon reaching the sand, Childe was fascinated. The ocean breeze brushing against his face, the warm sunlight of the Archipelago and the salty waves gently crashing onto the tide united all the scenery together.
He’d never seen such a tropical place in his life, so unfamiliar in comparison to his frozen homeland's weather and features.
Lost in admiration for the scenery, he had already forgotten that it was his birthday, only remembering when Zhongli called out his name, directing him to look ahead where the decorated area was put, in preparation for the celebration to commence.
Venti leaned back against Dvalin's tail, already playing a melody, as the other three walked along the decorated path.
Aether fastened his steps, going ahead and getting a small box. Then, turning back to the birthday boy, he extended the gift.
"Happy birthday, Childe."
The harbinger let out a small "thank you" before opening it.
His blue eyes twinkled as he grabbed the content inside the box for closer examination. It was a bright piece of wood with a smaller version of him, Teucer and Aether drawn on it, as well as a ruin guard, or “Mr. Cyclops” as his little brother would say, stood behind them.
Without thinking, Childe embraced Aether tightly with a wide smile across his face, and at the display of the ginger’s excitement, the traveler couldn't help but feel accomplished.
After the gift was exchanged, Venti pointed out the clothes he had prepared, which made Zhongli flinch at the thought of wearing sunglasses as eccentric as his. Luckily, they were just lighter clothes, not accessories.
Childe, already excited from the exotic scenery, went on ahead to change his clothes behind a tall rock.
Zhongli and Aether walked towards the same location, at a much slower pace than the Snezhnayan boy, who was already out of sight.
“Thank you for your efforts, traveler. You managed to surprise me as well,” Zhongli finally got the chance to say.
“It was no problem at all. I’m having fun and the ‘tone-deaf bard’ was a great help, too.”
Childe emerged from behind the rock suddenly, wearing shorts and a shirt that was presumably supposed to be buttoned up. As a matter of fact, all the attires were of a similar design, the few differences being their color schemes, a few patterns, and the boy’s usual accessories.
Before any reaction, they heard monstrous noises getting closer to the shelter. A group of hilichurls nearby seemed to have been alarmed by the dragon’s arrival.
Something inside Childe’s mind clicked and he immediately turned the way of the shrieks, getting ready to fight, “Leave them to me!”
“Oh I was counting on that,” Aether affirmed as Venti nodded. Knowing very well of the harbinger’s passion for fighting, they speculated about the attack and gladly attached it to the list of events for that day.
Aether’s words were thrown at no one though, since Childe had left as soon as those four words left his lips earlier, leaving no time to receive any reaction from the others.
Bad luck for those poor hilichurls, honestly.
Childe's hydro blades moved swiftly, leaving droplets in the sand as they slashed one after the other, ending each almost instantly, leaving little space for a counterattack. He only stopped moving when there were no more of the monsters around, either because they were actually all dead or ran away from fear.
Coming back to the shelter’s path, Childe saw that they were now fishing, which made him joyfully run to join them, and noticing that he was back, Zhongli offered Childe a fishing rod and a seat next to himself.
“Oh man, this takes me back to the old days with my dad,” The ginger said while settling down on the beach chair, “Though the temperatures are the complete opposite, haha. I wonder if my family would survive the extreme change in the weather, though.”
Zhongli and Aether listened attentively while holding their rods, all the while, the anemo archon, visibly tipsy, communicated with Dvalin nearby.
“How come you managed to adapt this easily to the sudden climate change, Childe?” Zhongli asked.
“A warrior must always adapt to any situation. If I let the heat get the best of me, I'm weakened, consequently leaving myself open to enemy attacks."
"Damn, he never changes. If it isn't about his family, the answer is always related to being a fighter… Well, it is almost comforting in a way." Aether thought, mentallyrolling his eyes while taking a sip of the drink Venti had given him.
"I see," Zhongli seriously responded, "It is indeed true. Keeping one's body and mind stable is a must when facing laborious challenges."
Childe was filled with joy upon hearing the acknowledgement. It was always pleasant to hear someone who understood his point of view.
The traveler shifted his attention upon feeling a small force pulling down the
rod.
A fish had finally taken the bait, and the eyes of the two men also moved towards him when they heard the small "oh" Aether let out.
They all rejoiced at the successful catch and its size, and the traveler went straight ahead to prepare a meal for them.
As the day went by, they had almost checked everything on the task list; They fished for a while, Aether showed the mechanisms and puzzles that Klee's mom prepared, even landing his Harpastum so Childe could try them, he also taught them how to ride and summon the Waverider, they exchanged various anecdotes, as well as how the traveler came across the Archipelago in the first place, describing the whole Dodo King saga, and finally, filled themselves with food and drinks.
The sun rapidly fell under the horizon, merging the last colored rays of marigold into the indigo night sky. Venti had managed to convince the traveler to drink with him throughout the day and, needless to say, they were quite drunk by now, though both of them had a high tolerance and were somehow still acting civilized.
While Dvalin slept, the four men sat on the sand, listening to Venti sing around the crackling campfire.
When the bard began to sing a piece about Snezhnaya, Childe seemed to have recalled something.
He shuffled through his belongings, grabbing a bottle with a clear liquid, “This was a gift I received earlier, it’s a Snezhnayan specialty alcohol, Fire-Water!”
Aether gulped nervously at the familiar name. He had heard the stories around Mondstadt, how Master Diluc spent three days in bed after drinking a single glass of it, leading to the unsuccessful partnership with the Snezhnayan merchants.
Childe poured the liquid into separate cups and went around distributing them to the boys. Sitting back in his original spot, he continued, “As per tradition, we have to down the cup in one go!”
Venti was all in for the proposal, and despite their concern at first, Zhongli and Aether respected the birthday boy’s wish.
After raising their cups in a toast, they all drank the beverage at once.
Childe cheered, rambling about how he missed the taste of the drink. Zhongli seemed to be unaffected, calm as always, smiling and listening to the Snezhnayan boy.
However, Aether didn’t seem so well, he had expected the feeling, but because of the previous drinks he shared with the bard, it seemed to have had a stronger effect on him.
Aether wasn't the most affected by the drink, though.
That one shot was the ultimatum for Venti. His vision was blurry and he couldn’t stop laughing, which alarmed the others, but before they could take action and ask what was wrong, the archon fell into the sand, a grin on his face as he passed out.
After the realization of what just happened, Aether was the first to talk, “Um, I’ll take him to the shelter. I’m feeling a bit… dizzy too. I’ll get some sleep, haha,” He was making a great effort to sound coherent.
“Hope you enjoyed your day, Childe.”
A sincere smile was directed towards the boy sitting next to Zhongli. That expression warmed Childe’s heart. Aether had put great effort into this whole day and he could tell.
Childe was about to open his mouth to say something after the traveler turned his back to them while carrying Venti, but was stopped by the blonde, “Oh, there’s something I forgot to say. If you go west from here you will find another island with a shipwreck on top of the, um… Rock structure thing. It’s a good place to watch the stars. Anyways, hehe, good night.”
That piqued the two tall men’s interest, and after watching Aether and Venti enter the shelter, Childe looked at Zhongli, who was already standing up, as if he shared the same idea as the other.
A short cruise to the Nameless Isle later, Zhongli and Childe were already walking side by side through the tide, leaving steady footprints on the sand’s surface.
When the two stopped to both admire the place and look for a way to get to the top of the rocky mountain, Zhongli noticed a mural on the rock, which showed a shipwreck and what seemed to be a few people trying to save each other.
The archon was pondering about the meaning of it when he heard Childe’s voice from behind him.
“Mr. Zhongli, there’s a wind current over here!”
Zhongli went to the other’s location, noticing the current that led to the top of the mountain.
Without much effort, both of them got to the original destination: The shipwreck Aether mentioned.
It was indeed a tragic but beautiful place; a place where one could watch the azure starry sky, pale moon glowing brightly.
The two found a spot to sit near the ship that once sailed the seas, and watched the galaxies above them.
Childe offered another shot of the Fire-Water, which the both of them shared. Zhongli closed his eyes, deep in thought.
He had been trying to find the chance to give Childe his birthday gift, but he couldn’t find the opportunity to do so. Finally, now seemed like the perfect time.
He reopened his eyes and stared at Childe, who was watching the sky attentively, blue eyes shining unitedly with the stars.
“Childe.”
Upon hearing his name, he turned to look at the archon.
“Give me your hand,” Zhongli said, reaching his own towards the harbinger.
Childe automatically did so, and after searching for an object on the pocket of his shorts, Zhongli put the present on the other’s palm.
It was a single earring made of Noctilucous Jade and Cor Lapis, in a similar fashion as the one earring Childe normally wore.
“This reminded me of you when I saw it. If you do not wish to wear it, I understand, but I do hope you could keep it with you.”
Zhongli said that but the harbinger was already taking off his original earring, making the archon a bit embarrassed at the impulsiveness of the boy, yet very pleased.
Childe had been rambling about the, now, old earring and how he had gotten it in the first place, but after a while of no response from Zhongli, he gazed at him, being met by the image of the geo archon fast asleep.
Zhongli had a high alcohol tolerance, but with the nightfall, his drowsiness had grown to an almost unbearable level, and now, he was finally subdued by it.
Ajax couldn’t help but feel a warmth in his chest, his expression softened and he decided it was time for him to rest too.
He had never had a better birthday in his life.

same anon 🤚🏻 I am v interested in your thoughts and opinions on Zhongli’s kits/gameplay
hi hi!  whew i might be typing a lot so i’ll post my thoughts under the cut.
warning: very long my fingers feel like they’re going to fall off
Tumblr media
first and foremost: polearm characters have some of the lowest atk multipliers in the game.
this is because of their high attack speed and reach: its a trade off, so their individual hits/attacks deal less damage than, say, a sword user. similarly to how a claymore user hits slow but hard.
automatically, you’re looking at poor normal/charged attack damage output from zhongli (ignoring his elemental skills for now, they’ll come up next) because of his weapon type.  i recommend comparing his multipliers over on honey impact if you need actual numbers.
okay, so what about 4 star characters like xiangling and fischl?  xiangling, a polearm user, and fischl, an archer, also have lower base normal/charged attack multipliers compared to sword and claymore characters.  what makes them so good?
this is where elemental skills come into play.
xiangling can summon gouba and fischl can summon oz.  both deal continuous/consistent damage over time and can be moved across the field at least by some distance.  fischl’s oz summons are more flexible than xiangling, and this makes her flexible in combat.
consider zhongli: he can summon a stele that also deals consistent damage over pulses.  that’s the same as xiangling and fischl, right?
no.
once more referencing honey impact: at its lowest rank (rank 1), the stele’s pulses deal 32% atk damage towards enemies in the stele’s range.  at talent level 7 (i choose 7 because it’s the most attainable towards most players at this time), its pulse damage multiplier is 48%.
at rank 1, gouba has a 112% atk multiplier per breath.  at rank 7, that multiplier becomes 166.92%.
at rank 1, oz has an 88% multiplier per attack.  at rank 7, it becomes 133%.
not only does zhongli have lower normal attack multipliers than xiangling, but his other source of dps, his stele, doesn’t even match gouba’s.  yikes king.
geo is an element that's made to be independent form the others.  it serves a niche role.
this one’s a bit obvious: you can have involved reactions with electro, hydro, pyro, etc, but geo was designed to be solitary.  geo’s only utility is to make or break shields.  it’s a defensive elemental reaction, compared to super-conduct, overload, etc, that deal extra damage.
shields also don’t have numbers right now.
super-conduct and overload display numbers when they deal numbers.  with shields, a regular player doesn’t know how much damage they’re being shielded from.  not on the health bar, or on the side of the screen.
only within characters who can cast shields do these numbers show, and you have to go into their talents to view the numbers.
what i’m saying: no one knows how good a shield is.  and this is only for characters who can cast shields.  if you pick up an elemental shard that grants a shield, you have no way of knowing how much damage it will absorb.
the community doesn’t place value in numbers they can’t access.  in genshin so far, the goal is to deal as much damage as possible or abandon domain.  inherently, shields are defensive.  but if we can’t compare their value to damage, then we don’t know how effective they are, and can’t determine how worth they are to invest in.
zhongli’s jade shield is advertised as op.  aight, cool.  but in a community that doesn’t know the value of shields, what purpose does it serve?  players immediately look towards his more engaging, aggressive capabilities, which are his normal, charged attacks, and stele resonance pulses, which we’ve already determined are lackluster.
it gets sooooo much better from here.
the issue with zhongli’s elemental burst and how he compares to other 5 star supports.
the most flashy part of a character’s kit: their elemental burst.
damage go brrrrr.
lowest energy cost in the game, sitting at a flat 40, whereas fischl and xiangling’s energy costs sit at 60 and 80 respectively.
looking at the numbers, the damage seems pretty solid (referencing the links above).  petrification also does wonders for the rest of your team so you can take your time to deal hits with normal attacks and your sweet stele –
wait.
oh, yeah, that’s right.  zhongli’s other damage sucks.
we’ve established that his normal/charged attacks and elemental skill (stele resonance damage) are not offensively reliable.
just now we’ve come to the oh-so pressing dilemma: once zhongli uses his elemental burst, what does he do?
nothing.
you switch him out to a more capable damage dealer before petrification wears off.
zhongli’s kit steers him into the supportive role.  that’s fine.  5 star supports like venti and qiqi shine in their roles.  you can argue that venti’s usage is similar to how i’m describing zhongli’s: poor normal/charged attack damage, but his elemental burst does wonders.
so what makes venti “good” or “s tier” whereas zhongli’s being pummeled into the dirt?
utility.
look at their character demos/teasers: venti’s elemental burst is narrated to “deal additional elemental damage.”  damage.  pulling enemies together.
what about zhongli’s?  keeps them in place.  his elemental burst makes things easier for his team, but is outclassed by venti’s.  take another look at the numbers: the duration that enemies are stuck in venti’s storm is 8 seconds at all ranks.  zhongli’s petrification lasts 4 seconds at max rank.
venti’s utility lasts twice as long as zhongli’s.  TWICE.  the fact that it’s 8 seconds at rank 1 is, honestly, absurd to me.  that much power at rank 1?  god, wow, that’s busted.
meanwhile, geo god at max rank twiddles his thumbs in the corner.
final thoughts.
anon my fingers hurt from typing i was trying to chug this out as fast as i can orz
quick recap: zhongli, a 5 star character, has lower normal/charged attack and elemental skill damage multipliers than 4 star characters.  his elemental usage is currently unquantifiable in a community that cannot readily measure the value of shields in the meta.  his elemental burst, his most obvious skill, is outclassed by a support that arguably serves the same purpose and deals the same damage as him.
i don’t think zhongli is a bad character.  i was being sarcastic throughout this entire post to relieve the tension in my fingers oh god oh fu
yeah so please ahsdljadsf im not hating on zhongli, just stating my reasoning and community observations.
anyways,
im not talking about constellations because, frankly, that would make this an entire separate post.  what i am comparing is zhongli’s base value when put against other characters who serve the same purpose as him, or fall into the same damage category.
he underperforms.  by all means, if you love his aesthetic, and love him as a character, continue to enjoy playing him.  this isn’t me saying that he’s trash all around.  this is me saying that, in a meta so fine-tuned, his gameplay lacks severely.
there are probably some builds that can make you tune him however you'd like.  smack two-piece bloodstained chivalry and two-piece gladiator on him and you’ll deal more damage with normal/charged attacks and his stele for sure.  but is that the easiest thing to do for a unit with the lowest multipliers in the game?  no.  it’s much more practical, given his kit, to build him support.
im so tired but feel free to ask more questions orz or if i need to clarify anything

Genshin Impact - Princess of the night
The duties of the Outrider division of the Knights of Favonius were as varied as they were plentiful and patrolling Mondstadt at night beyond its city walls was one of them. And her favorite too, nothing beat the soothing feeling of the cool night breeze, or the heart-throbbing feeling of saving a stranger from a monster. Surely, it was the adrenaline of combat, and not how beautiful her golden hair looked against the light of the moon.
Amber/Lumine. 2k. Ch1/3?
[Ao3]
The duties of the Outrider division of the Knights of Favonius were as varied as they were plentiful, but Amber bore every single one of them as its sole remaining member. When she came of age, Acting Grand Master Jean had been kind enough to re-establish the branch for her. Amber knew that, under the grand scheme of things, the Outrider division was only part of the Ordo Favonius, but that only motivated her even more to work hard and return it to its former glory. One day, her grandpa would come back to Mondstadt, and see how the division he had once started still kept on serving all of those in the region, be it its citizens or any travelers who happened to be around.
Had it been a few months ago, Amber had truly felt that might never happen, that she would not ever see him again. But after what just had happened? Dvalin, the ever guardian of Mondstadt, had turned on them; she had met a mysterious traveler and his floating companion in what had been a routinely scouting mission; and had found out that Venti, that drunk of a bard that never seemed to have a fill for liquor, was Lord Barbatos? Anything could happen next, and Amber felt as invigorated as ever to keep up her duties for the Outriders.
It was now a little over a week after the whole Dvalin ordeal had finished. Aether had said goodbye, and left for Liyue to continue on his journey. Amber would have loved to have gone with him (perhaps Liyue held a clue or two about the whereabouts of his grandpa), but she still had her duties to fulfill as an Outrider.
Patrolling Mondstadt at night beyond its city walls was one of those many duties. One always had to be on the lookout for Hilirchurl encampments; if they were too close to the city or too large, they would have to be dealt with. Abyss Mages were also a threat, as they were both dangerous and intelligent, the latter trait something that Hillichurls lacked (Amber swears there have been multiple times where a Hillichurls had slept or played with a butterfly while the rest of its encampment was being dealt with, so they either are not smart, or they simply never cared). Or Reckless Pallad needed saving. Again.
All of these were important reasons to go out patrolling, but really the one that Amber cared most about (not to say she did not care for the safety of Mondstadt and its citizens) was the fact that, as a night patrol, there was no real rush to her task. After a day of sprinting and gliding everywhere, where time was of the essence, nothing beat a walk on Starfell Lake or Starsnatch Cliff with the cool, accompanied by the night breeze and the light of the moon. Lamp grass, her favorite flower, also shone only during nighttime, which was an added bonus.
Of course, she was still on duty, so despite enjoying her night strolls, Amber always kept an eye out for danger and her bow ready to be drawn. Tonight was no different, as she walked up one of the many cliffs of Stormbearer Point. She always made a point of walking up to the highest points of them, as they served as great vantage points for the surrounding area (including the reflected moonlight on the ocean horizon!). Once she made it to the end of the cliffside, Amber held her bangs from blowing into her face from the strong breeze and peered to her surroundings.
A fireplace on one of the openings just beneath the cliffside but got her attention. Normally, people camping out in Mondstadt was not uncommon, but it took a strong body and the will of an adventurer to do it in such a far away place and with such rough terrain such as Stormbearer Point. Amber could barely make out the silhouette of a sleeping figure near the fire, but something else glowed near it...
Amber knew that only one thing glowed and made a perfect sphere. Whoever was sleeping out there was slowly being crept up by an Abyss Mage! Taking note of how the wind blew her hair, Amber took out her Baron Bunny, looked down and closed one eye, taking aim. As she threw the Baron down, she pulled down her goggles, took a few steps back, jumped off the cliff with a leap, and opened her glider. As she slowly fell down, Amber thanked the Archons that the Abyss Mage had been the icy kind. If the glow of its shield had been orange, her only option would have been to pick up the sleeping person and run for it.
Baron Bunny was the first one to land, immediately catching the Abyss Mage’s attention. The Abyss Mage pulled out its Leyline branch wand, and with a twirl and a swing, summoned forth icicles which Baron Bunny took like a champ. After the fourth one, Baron had enough and lit itself into an explosion, taking the Abyss Mage aback and damaging its shield. Now that she had glided down to a safe altitude, Amber put away her glider and lept down with a rain of arrows. The arrows simply bounced off of the Mage’s shield, but in its confusion, Amber took the chance to focus her vision at its highest intensity and with a Fiery Rain, both destroyed the weakened shield and the Abyss Mage alongside with it once its protection were no more.
Amber let out a sigh of relief, thankful that her attack had hit just the right spots to wipe the Abyss Mage in a single volley. The crackling of the fire left by her attack helped Amber’s heart soothe down from the rush of adrenaline her body had just been pumped with, but it quickly skyrocketed again when she heard movement behind her. In a swift motion, Amber lept away, turned around and drew an arrow, only to find a blonde girl in an intricate white getup, with her hands held up in a resigning manner.
“Um, hello?” she quizzically called out with a clear look of confusion on her face.
“Don’t you know it’s dangerous out here? There are monsters everywhere, so away from the city!” Amber put down her bow.
“And also cute girls with fire Visions and trigger-happy bow and arrows.”
The sudden compliment caught Amber off guard. “D-Don’t…!” Amber cleared her throat, she could not be tripping on her words when she had to perform her duties as an Outrider. “Don’t you know I just saved you? You had an Abyss Mage creeping up on you as you slept!”
The stranger looked even more confused until she glanced at the patch of grass behind Amber on fire. “That explains that, then,” she said as she pointed at the blazes. “By the way, your boot is going to catch on fire.”
“Huh?” Amber looked behind her, and in the jump she had instinctively made just now, her foot had landed inside the fire. In the heat of the moment, she barely noticed the heat (the fire resistance provided by her Vision had not helped either), but now fully aware of it, Amber quickly jumped away from the fire and patted her boot down, making sure it had not been set ablaze.
“A-Anyways…!” There she went, tripping on her words again. “It’s dangerous out here! You should come with me to Mondstadt.”
“And… you are…?”
“Oh!” How could she forget, again?! She had completely forgotten to introduce herself in front of Aether about a month ago, and now she was doing it once more. “I am Amber, Outrider for the Knights of Favonius!” Amber straightened her back and did the Favonius salute, fist to her chest.
“Nice to meet you, Amber, Outrider for the Knights of Favonius,” The stranger repeated, putting her hand on her chest too.
“May the Anemo God protect you, stranger.” Well, Amber was planning to do the protection, but it was part of the Knight’s code to say that line.
“Please, call me…” The girl paused for a moment, before nodding to herself. “Ying.”
“Alright… Ying.” Amber was not too convinced with her name, but Ying looked suspicious right from her getup. “You’re not of Mondstadt, are you, Ying? Explain yourself.”
“So inquisitive… is that how things work in this region?” Ying wondered out loud, but before Amber had the chance to answer, she continued. “I’m just a traveler, out to see the worlds. I had heard of a Dragon being sighted in Mondstadt, so I arrived not too long ago to witness it.”
Dvalin? Certainly it had to be Dvalin, very few dragons lived in the modern day. Perhaps news of the Dvalin attacks on Mondstadt had spread across Teyvat, but not of its stop. “Where do you hail from, Ying?”
“Very far away. Further away from what you can see on the horizon.” Ying turned to face the ocean, and the way the moon illuminated her golden hair made her look ethereal, like she came from another world.
“Sounds like a very long trip to come here to Mondstadt.”
“Hmm. Yeah, I guess it took a while. I’ve been traveling for so long that the journeys don’t matter too much, only what’s in the end.” For a moment, Amber could see a hint of sadness in Ying’s eyes.
Now it felt so much harder to tell her that Dvalin had kept to itself in Stormterror’s Lair for weeks now, and that Dvalin only made itself present on rare occasions.
“And what are you doing out here, Miss Outrider for the Knights of Favonius?”
“Amber is just fine. I was simply on a nightly patrol, keeping an eye out for danger and monsters, and saving people from said dangers, like I just did with you! Now, come. We should get you into the city, it’s not safe out here.”
“I think you cleared out all the monsters around her already, Amber. And besides, the Fatui are in the city, no? I… don’t like them.” Ying sighed and sat down near the fireplace. “I’m safer out here than I’ll be in there with them.”
“Well...” Amber knew very well how much more dangerous the Fatui were when compared to some lowly hillichurls or a few Abyss Mages, and the way Ying spoke made Amber feel like she had some reasons to dislike them, just like Collei. “I won’t force you to come, if you really feel that way.”
“Thanks.” Ying offered Amber a smile, one that the Outrider could not take her eyes off of. “And besides, if I ever need to be rescued, the Outrider for the Knights of Favonius will come to the rescue, right?”
Never had Amber felt embarrassed by her own title, but these past few months had been a lot of first times for her. “J-Just be careful out here, okay? I need to get back to my patrols.”
“Right, I’ll keep an eye out, Amber. May the Anemo God protect you too.”
With a salute, Amber bid farewell to the stranger she had just met, and made haste to get back to her patrol route. With her short skirmish with the Abyss Mage long over, why had the adrenaline rush not gone away? If Amber did not know any better, she would say her heart was about to fly out of her chest.

“Did I really call myself Ying... Cute girls will be the end of me…” Ying said to herself as she rubbed the temples of her head. Standing up, she walked up to the burnt grass left by Amber and picked up the Leyline branch the Abyss Mage had left in its demise.
“I wanted to travel alone here, but someone just had to insist they had to come along…” Ying shook her head and pocketed the Leyline branch.
“Aether has made some very cute friends, hasn’t he?”
Now, Lumine just had to get Amber to rescue her again, but how will she do it next time?

Not believing in the gods
A genshin impact Oneshot about a MC, who is not Lumine or Aether.
* someone thinks *
“someone says something”
Au where only the Gods can use magic and normal people just live a normal boring life
It was a peaceful day in Mondstadt as always honestly. The City is beautiful, so it was not a suprise, that many Traveler came to the City to rest. Same goes for (Y/N). The last City she has visited was Liyue and that was a really different City in many ways. Living in Mondstadt  everyone cares for each other, while in Liyue it’s the opposite to put it lightly. But one Thing was the same, both cities have the same faith for their Gods. (Y/N) did not believe in Gods and all that stuff until Now-
(Y/N) Pov:
*I came to Mondstadt for some rest and a good drink, I heard the dandelion wine is the best here*. While I was walking in the city everyone was talking about their God  of freedom and how he protect the people with his blessing.
*Bruagh, why does all the people have such a big trust in their God, Liyue was also like but why I do not see any God here on earth*
“Hey The Bard is at the statue again, come I wanna hear him, he has such a beautiful voice”. A Tall blonde Woman said to her friend.
“Yeah I bet he always prayed so the God of freedom has gifted him his voice as a present for his faith” the other Woman answered.
* A beautiful voice, let’s hear it for myself*. Sadly in Liyue was not much music in the streets, food, jewels, business but no music.
So I followed the two girls to their destination.
“So good people of Mondstadt let me tell you a story of a young boy, hoping with his voice he could achieve many things and end the war, which was at the moment” a boy, who by the looks, must be the bard said.
For a glimpse moment the boy looked at (Y/N) and smiled at her.
“This song I now sing is for this brave boy, who lost his life, but also won with his death peace for his country” The Boy began to sing.
The young bard talked and sang to the people for 30 Minutes while he was always looking at (Y/N).
Venti Pov:
He saw that she was a traveler, not only by her looks also by her eyes. Hers was shining other than the people of Mondstadt. Those (E/C) were so intense so living, he was fascinated.
When he finished his demonstration of his voice and knowledge he went to his favorite bar. The same location where (Y/N) was right now.
He greeted Diluc who was washing the used glasses. Normally he would just sit at the front and drank alone while talking with many people and hoping to get drinks gifted for his songs, but not today. He came into the bar and saw the woman sitting in the corner with a drink, he would always recognize , the dandelion whine.
With small steps he went to her table and took a seat in front of her.
“Hello traveler, I saw you before at my performance I hope you liked what you saw” he sat with a playful voice.
“It was okey, have heard better voices” she answered.
“Outch, my poor soul, how can such a beautiful young lady hurt my feelings that much, what did you not like about it” Venti said with a playful voice.
The woman looked at him not sure if she wants to talk with him, but answered anyways.” Your voice was good, but the topic with the past and war and the end with the gods, just not my stuff”.
“How come?” Venti asked.
“I just don’t have much faith in the gods, people just imagined them because they need stuff to believe in” The Woman with (H/C) said.
*Oh,  that will be an interesting conversation* Venti thought.
“You’re the first person to think that way I have ever met in my life and believe me I am older than I look” Venti said while ordering a drink for himself.
“Well I can’t say I also met people with the same opinion as me. But I never saw anything that will prove Gods exist with their magic as written in the books” she said while drinking some of her whine.
“So you need some proof, is that what you want?” Venti asked with a smug in his face.
(Y/N) looked confused and answered “How can YOU  prove that gods have existed”?.
“Oh they still live here, they did not vanish dummy” Venti said and added “ Let’s make a deal you pay for the drinks and I prove that gods exist, if I not convince you I pay you back”.
(Y/N) Pov:
*Did that boy drank too much already or is he for real* (Y/N) thought.
*This is a very stupid idea in the end he kidnaps me or go to the church and wants to pray*
“Don’t  worry I won’t kidnap you, or will I?” Venti said.
*Can he read my mind* (Y/N) wondered.
He stood up and held his hand to me while saying “Come on it will be fun I promise I will not bite hard just if you want it that way”.
*Well I was not planing on doing anything else so why not* I thought while taking his hand.
I handed the barkeeper the money and was dragged outside by the boy, who not let go of my hand.
“By the way my name is Vent” the boy said while turning his head to me.
“(Y/N)” you answered to be polite.
Venti dragged me to a big tree and finally let go of my hand.
“Let’s make another rule for our little deal, when I win and convince you to believe in the gods I have a wish you must do and if not you can wish anything from me” Venti said with a smug face.
“Well because there is no way you can convince me okey” I said.
Suddenly Venti grabbed me in a hug and said “Suprise”.
With a big blast some kind of wind boosted us up in the air, the only thing i could do was scream and hold onto Venti, who was just laughing at me.
“How and why” I screamed at him.
“Well maybe the god of freedom want’s to demonstrated his power to a simple woman without believe” Venti said while flowing in the air with (Y/N).
A few seconds later Venti let go of (Y/N) and let her alone in the air. He flows around her like a butterfly while playfully saying “So do you now believe in US gods young (Y/N)”.
“Yes I believe in the gods but please put me down somehow” (Y/N) screamed.
“Then say I (Y/N) believe in the gods now , I belive in Barbatos” Venti said smiling.
(Y/N) did as he said and Venti took her back on the ground.
“Thank god” (Y/N) said while kissing the earth.
“Oh your welcome, that was very funny wanna do it again”? Venti asked.
“Noo are you for real I will not do that again” (Y/N) said still a little shocked.
A few moments pasted and (Y/N) asked “ So your Barabtos the god of freedom”?
“Yup and there are still seven more of us to believe in” Venti said.
“Okay I believe you but do not expect me do pray to you and all that stuff, just not my type” (Y/N) said while leaning against the tree.
“Well I guess I have a wish , which I will make now” Venti said while pressing here against the tree.
Her eyes looked in his while feeling his breath on her mouth.
Gently Venti kissed (Y/N) and after some time his hand explored her body.
After some time he took a step back
“So is this punishment for not believing in you if yes I could get used to it” (Y/N) said with a red face.
“Oh that was not a punishment but I can gladly show you how cruel I can be to naughthy girls” Venti said kissing her again.
