Ep. 16: The Happily Ever After

Hello! =D

I can't believe this is my last We Are post wow- It feels like just yesterday I was here typing out my first one because I had one too many Thoughts about it. Anyways, not to get too sentimental on main, here you go:

The result of long-term exposure to his boyfriend and his extreme levels of cheesiness hehe

Seriously though, I love how Fang is slowly but surely opening up to loud gestures of love (I think previously, he just wasn't used to loving loudly, he was used to loving with his whole heart but keeping it to himself because he never felt safe enough to express it).

I love how they're from absolutely different faculties and are still studying together like yess go besties who are in love with each other but are too oblivious to realise it!

Peem with Phum usually: *swats at Phum at the slightest sign of PDA even though he really enjoys it*

Peem when others say something about their relationship: So, Phum, what do you say, want me to kiss you senseless right here right now?

(And we all know what Phum's answer is gonna be hehe)

Hasn't even been two minutes in the room and they're already breaking into the bed 😭😭

(I really love this scene btw, the simple fun of it, and even though it's not sensual, it's intimate and very them.)

I adore this scene a ridiculous amount, but I love even more that it was Phum who planned it like yess he's been wingman-ing his phi and friend since Day 1 and he never stopped.

Others have gaydars, PhumPeem have faen-dars: they know when their faen is looking at them or coming towards them.

Not a bad power to have, honestly. I approve.

Okay, so see how Phum says "Thank you for being a good story in my life?" For Phum, having Peem in his life really does feel like a story, something out of the books he read (headcanon) and something too good to be true. But he's starting to realize that this is true, that Peem is here to stay.

Peem says "Thank you for letting me step into your life" because he knows all the issues Phum has, that it's hard for him to really let people in. But he let Peem in to love him, and Peem is grateful because it gave him someone to love and be the comfort zone for, but also gave him someone who loved him.

Also, no kidding, I got a mental image of Fang and Peem sitting and sipping at their drinks while Phum and Tan argue and compete like children, and when they go too far, Fang and Peem let out this long suffering sigh while they try to pull apart their husbands.

Okay, about that dinner scene. I actually kinda liked it. The awkwardness of it, the halted conversation, the prompted actions. As with the rest of the series, they kept it real, and I'm glad for it.

A lot of BLs, especially Thai BLs forgive the parents too soon too fast, and I really like they did not do that here.

Phum just (sorta) started on this path of being on talking terms with his dad (not forgiveness, or forgetting what he's done, mind you) and I'm going to be carefully neutral about it. If Phum likes it, well and good. If the father does something Phum doesn't like well *looks at two of my wips specifically* I always keep back-ups.

Peem is never letting that go hehe

(I don't think Phum minds all that much now, because he did end up with Peem, fuck you Kluen)

Also I'm two eps behind on Wandee Goodday and I hear Title finally got a nice boyfriend role? Good for him!

Am I the only one who felt left hanging? We BEEN knew it didn't make sense, but what's your POINT, exactly? If Louis misremembered Lestat whispering, it's just par for the course about the odyssey of recollection. But if Lestat DID do telepathy, is that evidence of...what? That the vampire bond works differently than what's been explained? That he COULD read Lou's mind? AMC, this is AGGRAVATING.

Everything that happened after that--the 7 years of depression--was ALSO Lestat's fault. "I wanted you to suffer, cuz I was suffering;" I'm glad Les just waved that aside and said they BOTH wronged e/o.

He's not suicidal anymore then! He has nights in front of him to look forward to! So Lou can finally "learn to live honestly" with HIMSELF.

And Lestat dove RIGHT ON IN with that! He's been carrying that with him for DECADES, worried about Louis & what happened.

I LOVE that Les' language changes (the way his voice CRACKS and goes so TINY, oml)--he asked Lou in 1973 if he was "ill," and if something had happened TO him; so as to not spook/trigger or blame him--but he can ask more candidly now in a (relatively) "healthier" 2024 if Lou tried to hurt/kill himself; and get a more candid/honest answer. CLOSURE, y'all, I'm gonna cry.

GOOOOOOD. Don't EVER forget your daughter. Y'all need to have a Claudia Memorial; to KEEP remembering her, as she was in all her vampiric splendour, the good times AND the bad times.

I KNOW this hurt Louis to his effing core. The way Jacob cried FIRE!

I'm so glad Lou hugged him--YES YOU WERE, Uncle Les. And you KNOW it; you FELT that bond b/t y'all, even if she never looked at you. IDW collection reading update! :D 📖 (Fixed!)

Phase 2 volume 4 done! This volume included: Monstrosity, RID issues 12-18 and MTMTE issues 14-16!

I ended up reading all the way to Phase 2 volume 6 before finishing this update so my notes are a bit scattered! Anyway! As usual my thoughts are below :3 ⤵️

Monstrosity:

This story is set in the past, when Optimus has assumed leadership on Cybertron after the senate and pervious primes were killed.

This story is, I dunno... For some reason I can't really get into these?? It feels... edgy?? Idk, I feel like that's not the best way to describe it. But there's something about the vibe with these ones in the past (like Autocracy and this one).

Of course everyone is becoming the characters we know since this is in the past. So there is going to be a lot of fumbling and growing from them and things that seem out of character. But given their situation at the time, i can't be super harsh on odd decisions.

They have to deal with the senate and their corruption, as well as that from the previous primes, the Decepticons uprising and wanting to take over, Cybertron running out of resources aaaaand I feel like something else I can't remember rn 🤔 but a lot is going on!! Haha.

There is a scene that references the OG animated movie where they toss Megatron out of Astrotrain and he goes "I still function...!" Which was a pretty cool homage tho.

But this kinda felt like a whole way to just show how badass Megs is meanwhile Optimus is going through it on Cybertron 😂 It was entertaining and interesting at parts, but some things I was 'eh' about

RID: 12-16:

Before i go on, I'm sorry, but... this Megs panel is giving me the same energy as that little alien guy that was in the news months ago 🤣 Now actually⤵️

Megatron returns!! This story was very entertaining!! I feel like I can usually guess where something is going, but I was surprised by a lot of the twists here! There was so many!

The character deaths had me shook! 😭 Wheeljack ahhhh!!! Metalhawk!! Also everything with Prowl and the Constructions! O_O;

I'm sorry Prowl 😔 I was pretty surprised when they started killing off the Decepticons at first, but then went: "Well, I guess he's being super ruthless now" I couldn't see you were brainwashed!! 😭🗿To my defense, him teaming up with Arcee and given Arcee's record, it kinda seemed like the natural progression of things lol 💀

Two things I kinda have mixed feelings about tho are:

1. Arcee just casually being part of the Decepticon gang and no one questioning her being there?? She then easily kills the guy controlling Devastator and that was like... Megatron's big plan. Why didn't she do it sooner? I imagine it was to draw out Meg's, but still it seemed weird.

2. Starscream killing Metalhawk after Metalhawk came to save Starscream. It's in his character and everything, and I'm happy that he did it bc it shows who he is. But OOF I thought he was leaning a different way for a bit and that I had Starscream wrong, But no, he's greedy boy. (I was starting to like Metalhawk T_T)

Anyway! Good guy Swindle!! 🥹

MTMTE 14-16:

💀💀💀💀💀 BIG SAD. But!!! It was a super interesting story!! I really enjoyed learning about Overlord and Chromedome.

Chromedome becoming Trepan's apprentice in the past was crazy!! :O And the whole scene with him and Prowl in Prowl's office. When Prowl asks/threatens Chromedome to go into Overlord's mind 😙👌 *chef's kiss* GET 'EM CHROMEDOME!! 💪👊🔪

The whole thing about how the Phase Sixers are made was very interesting too!! This frame ⤵️ Meg's saying this made me lmao 😂 I can now see the thing between him and Overlord better now.

As for Overlord getting out and obliterating some of the crew... ughhhhh 😭😭😭 Pipes man!! Ratchet protecting the medibay was awesome. Best doctor 🚑😌

I was shocked during the fight with Overlord that Magnus got so injured!! I've read ahead already, but I was sweating it, I thought he was gonna die too 😭😭 Overlord goes right for your spark man 💀

Luckily they got Overlord back to his containment cell, but- 😭😭😭😭 LITTLE MAN 😭😭😭 Why'd he have to hop in there to get the sword??? OTL

Then Chromedome blowing it up once the cell disengaged from the ship 😭 It was a perfectly painful sequence! 👏

When I saw the scene with Whirl and the cannon/ blaster shooting asteroids, I knew it would come around 😔

There is another story that happens in current time where Bee gets turned into Goldbug, but I think he's called "Goldfire" here? 🤔 He really got injured during the whole thing with Meg's so they had to fix him up with pieces of his old earth form.

Final Random Thoughts:

This volume had a bunch of great stories in it! And I learned quite a bit about characters I like!

Though it was sad, I'd say my favorite story was the mtmte one with Overlord (The Overlord arc?). The art is always fantastic and so is the story!

I look forward to reading more and I'll be making another reading update very soon since I'm already on volume 6!

Although, this one seemed more intimidating, no Roman, no Usos, and sadly poor Paul got triple power bombed by the group at the end of the show. This version was serious, now Solo Sikoa was taking over as the leader, calling himself 'The Tribal Chief .' He had his cousin Jacob Fatu whom he recruited last week from the Indies & the two Tongans from New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa.

Yup, they were a dangerous bunch. You were a bit terrified by them, especially seeing them jump the roster after Roman & Jimmy left. You even got along with the original members of The Bloodline & had get togethers with them since Naomi is also like a sister to you. You spoke to Solo once in awhile too, but that changed after Roman left & he stopped talking to you. Somehow there was a certain member of the group whom you couldn't keep your eyes off of, Tonga Loa.

Something about him was different to you. You've watched a few matches of him during his run in New Japan; he seemed to have a different aura & wasn't all over the place like his brother & the other Bloodline members. You've seen his Instagram as well, he was always smiling so bright & posting up with his dog, nephews, nieces, friends, family & even Krispy Kreme. You felt like he had a bright personality under that mysterious one. You were getting lost looking at him while he was grabbing food & chatting with Solo at the Buffet, until a body stepped in front of the pair & snapped its fingers at you.

Your gaze broke off & you looked up to see his older brother Tama giving you a stern look, cocking his eyebrow at you. He wasn't impressed. "Whatchu looking at little girl?" Loa & Solo stopped talking & turned their attention to you. Your face burned up & you felt embarrassed that he called you out like that. The room went quiet. Bianca scooted her chair closer to you in case you needed backup, you were a sister to her & she knew their game, they've messed with her husband & his friends & she wasn't gonna let them mess with you.

You felt the tension in the room rise & finally replied "nothing...I was just looking at the food being served today. I haven't eaten yet so I was curious-" "Bullshit!" He cut you off, "I know you weren't looking at the food, you were looking at my little toko, what's your deal huh? Hasn't anyone told you, it's not polite to stare? What do you want from him?" "Tama, shut up!" yelled Bianca "leave my sis alone! She ain't done nothing wrong. She was just minding her own business until you came yapping along. Not everything is about y'all" Tama widened his eyes at her. "Toko...it's okay! Take it easy!" said Loa while putting a hand on Tama's shoulder.

Montez stood up in front of him "Boy, what the f-ck is your problem? She can look wherever she wants, it's a free country. What are you gonna do? Fine her? The girl just wanted some dang food & y'all are in her way." That's when Solo stepped in; you knew it was about to go down, he spoke "Oh, so it's our fault now?! Why doesn't she be woman & come & get it herself?" Angelo stood up "Aye! The woman can also make decisions for herself too & the last person she needs advice is from someone who dresses up like The Weeknd every week." Everyone bursted out laughing. Solo looked embarrassed.

You swore you saw Loa trying not to laugh, and quickly looked away. That's when Jacob came in & stepped in front of Angelo in Solo's defense, "Oh, so you think you're funny big guy? How about we settle this?" "I'd love to see you try." he challenged. You realized this isn't gonna end well, you didn't want to see Angelo getting hurt because of you. You quickly stepped in between Angelo & Jacob "please, don't fight. If you want to, do it in the ring or something next week, but not here. Tonga Loa, I'm so sorry if it looked like I was staring, I wasn't. I should've gotten my food as soon as I got here. I'm sorry it looked that way," you pleaded.

He gave you a look which looked sorry, was he feeling sympathetic towards you? " You have nothing to apologize for Y/N" he said. " WHAT?! Are you feeling sorry for her?!" questioned Tama. "It's okay bro, just leave it. She just wanted food. You're making something out of nothing. We don't need to get banned from catering again. Let's just go & eat, I'm hungry." said Loa, leading his brother away from the scene & towards a table on the far end. Solo gave everyone a warning glare & followed the brothers. Jacob gave Angelo one last look "see you in the ring next week." he said before walking away with his group.

Angelo smirked at him. "Oh my God Angelo, are you okay? I'm so sorry y'all. It's all my fault!" you cried. Angelo hugged you "sis, it's okay. We'll be okay. We're a family remember? Tama's the one who caused this shit & me & Tez wanna teach him another lesson, this one's for messing with you. We'll be okay. Just keep your distance from them, okay?" He assured as he rubbed your back. You nodded, you were so worried about him & Montez. "Will y'all be okay?" asked Bianca hugging her husband. "We'll be good, they need their asses kicked good. We'll have back up too. KO is here so we'll be even" said Montez earnings smiles from you & his wife.

"Y/N, you didn't eat anything" said B-Fab. "You know what? I'll grab Sushi on the way back. I'm not that hungry. Plus, I don't want to eat here. The energy is pretty off " you answered. "True, let me & Binky take you to that sushi bar around the corner. Get all the Cali rolls to celebrate the big win tonight, my treat. Go pack your things & we'll meet you at the car." said Tez. "I still think you should grab a snack, something to occupy your stomach on the way there, cause your qualifying match was brutal. You must be starving" said Bianca.

Bianca & Montez are like the big brother & sister you never had, they cared about you so much just as much as you did for them, you were grateful for them. You nodded & thanked them & went towards the buffet table, grabbed a paper plate & placed some spring rolls. B-Fab came up to you putting both of her hands on the sides of your arms, holding in you place. She glanced behind you, and quickly looked back at you & whispered "Girl, I know you're pissed off at them cause of what they did, but Loa won't stop looking at you ever since you got up from our table." Your eyes widened, you gotta admit you liked him even more after he calmed his Gremlin brother down when he went berserk on you for no reason. "B, I gotta tell you something, but not here." you said. You looked over towards Bianca & The Street Profits who were talking to Jade Cargill. You snuck a look towards the Bloodline's table to see Loa quickly turning his head away from looking at you & to his family who were too occupied in the conversation & their food to notice him looking anymore.

You grabbed her hand and lead her to your locker room. You shut the door, "Okay, I don't know how to tell you this, but I really like him. I just don't know if he feels the same. But, you caught him looking at me." B-Fab, raised her brows in response "I had a feeling you did girl, you were staring at him in catering weren't you?" She teased, you blushed in response & nodded. "But what will Bianca & Tez say? They can't stand The Bloodline & The Bloodline can't stand us either. Plus, the way Tama was being a dick to you for just looking at him? They're dangerous." she said. "I know." you frowned "that's the sad part, his family seems to hate me. Solo & I were chill too until Roman left. I guess it's whatever. He'll probably find someone else who's better. Someone that they'll all accept & like & get her to manage The Bloodline." you sighed.

She placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder, "don't feel that way, you're gorgeous girl. Any guy would be lucky to have you. It's just a matter of time, maybe they'll turn babyface a year later? The arena was mostly empty by now as the show ended,it was mostly just the backstage crew & tech packing up. You were nearing the exit when you heard a familiar voice call out your name. Yesterday was day 194,,, Eh, it's already been ambiguous about whether we're actually on schedule since day 100 we're fine

Anyways Haruka unit outfit comparisons mayhaps?? gonna add the "keep reading" thing bc this is gonna be long methinks

I love how her unit outfit kind of matches Minori's! As seen in the two cards (Minori below), their blazers(?) are open, meanwhile Airi and Shizuku have theirs closed.

Alongside that, the hems of the first and second ruffles on their skirts are both the same color. Shizuai have their second hems slightly off-colored.

They also have their hair accessories on the same side! They both wear theirs on their right side, meanwhile Airi has two hairties and Shizuku has her accessory on her left side.

Take a look at the points I'd mentioned before, they're so similar!! Minoharu so real/j

Now, there's some similarities between Haruka and Shizuku (Shizuku below as well), I think. They both wear golden bracelets on their left wrists. Haruka's is much looser and has two bands while Shizuku has just one thick band that's more secure on her wrist, yeah, but I think it counts.

They also both have ruffles attached to their shirts on either shoulder. Haruka has it on her left shoulder while Shizuku has it on her right.

Their hair accessories are also similar, being that they both have ribbons in the accessory. Granted, both designs are different, but the ribbons are the same colors, if inverted.

I spent a good bit of time thinking on this tbh,, But we still have more!!

Airi and Haruka don't seem to have too many similarities between each other. However I do think that Haruka's shirt being the only untucked one and Airi's being a crop top could be considered a similarity, seeing how they're both not tucked into the skirt in some fashion.

I literally cannot identify anything else 😭 This is so embarrassing tbh, it's probably in their shoes. Which i can't see bc I'm using the CARDSSS AUUUGH

Anyways we are not done here. Nononono. We're doing their 3rd anni unit outfits too.

She still slayed this so hard. Look me dead in the eye and tell me she didn't eat and leave no crumbs. You can't. Also I love how their cuffs look and tie into their characters. I can't go on that tangent rn simply bc I can't really remember everyone's nuances but it's there. Their lapels also do the same, I love how Haruka's lapel is the only straight one.

Now her similarities with Minori are more numerous here, if only because the group suddenly all got outfits that stated their "together"ness even louder. However the first thing I noticed was that their hair accessories are both wings. Of course, they're still on the same side as they were before, but they're both wings and I think that's cute.

I'm gonna be so real rn I cannot tell what's a similarity between just them and a similarity between all of MMJ so that's it for Minori 😭

Shizuku and Haruka's shirts both don't have a dark hem, as Airi's dark hem is on her skirt and thus doesn't count.

However Airi's skirt has three layers to it, meanwhile the others only have two layers since their shirts also technically count as a layer.

However their actual similarity is that there is a distinct section in their skirts where the plaid is only in the front, whether it's being covered up by another part of the skirt or that it's all just white there.

And I guess they're both facing the same way?? Idk the similarities used to mean more in the original outfits now they just look the same and the differences are more interesting now ☠️☠️☠️

The funniest one is the one where your first words to them are on their wrist, because I always think about that one prompt where it was a star wars spoiler on someone's wrist

anyway I went and replayed the lessons to find out Mammon's first words to MC. And then this is where it gets iffy, because it depends on if they need to meet face to face to count

Because his first words are literally "Yoooo." on a phone call 😭 and MC can reply "Hi"/"Yooo." Otherwise, meeting face to face, it's "HEY! Just who do you think you are, human? You've got a lotta nerve summoning the Great Mammon." And MC's first words are either "All right, deal"/ "Uh-uh, I won't go along with this!"/ "..."

AND THEN ALSO, is it only humans that get soulmates? Imagine Mammon is the only one with writing on his wrist, or maybe Lilith too. And if she had writing, it clicks for everyone after she dies what it meant to have writing on your wrist. The rest of his brothers are constantly listening out for whatever words Mammon has on his wrist.

And if it's the "Hi" or "All right, deal", that's so tough because the first one is common, and the second one should be common as well when it comes to making deals/bargains/gambles. Also, MC walking around with whichever option is hilarious. "Who the hell is calling themselves the Great Mammon and why are they my soulmate?"

And like, with MC supposedly going to the past with Nightbringer, do their words change once in the past? Does a second set of words appear, or have they each always had two sets of words?

"You don't know me?"/" You seriously forgot who I am...?!" -MC first words in NB

Present MC/Mammon who, if they've always had two sets of words, constantly wonder what will happen between them. Because you could pair it with the writing being in your soulmate's handwriting, so each set would obviously be the same. So they know they're each other's soulmate, but why two sets of words? MC trying to lighten the mood and say "It just means we're together in every universe".

And then NB events happen and it clicks why there's two sets. And NB Mammon, along with all of his brothers possibly, probably freezing in their tracks hearing MC speak directly to Mammon. So soon after the fall and the war too.

BUT THEY ALL BELIEVE MC IS A DEMON IN THE BEGINNING SO THEY'RE LIKE "???". Maybe MC has their wrist covered as part of their disguise in this AU. That would be painful, having to lie/play dumb about soulmates and act confused meanwhile your heart is breaking on the inside lol

OOF the implications! Of course the timeline shenanigans make everything more complicated.

Make it even crazier and more confusing if Mammon has the past words and MC has the future words.

Because for MC, the OG lines from Mammon are the first words they hear from him, right? So that's either the phone call or what he says when he shows up face to face.

And the Mammon has the NB words from MC because technically that's his past, so they would be the first words he hears from MC.

Imagine hearing your soulmate's first words from you, but then realizing that your first words don't fit with what they have on their wrist.

Then NB happens but Mammon doesn't remember or even realize that MC heard the words on their wrist from him.

I actually quite like soulmate au type situations, but the first words one is complicated lol. Though what other sorts of things could indicate a soulmate? Like a red string or maybe just tattoo/symbols manifesting on you that match your soulmate's. I think I've seen ones where it's like you only see black and white until you meet them.

But I like the concept of always finding your soulmate in any timeline, especially since we have an easy set up for that in Obey Me! Like it doesn't matter how well you know each other or what time it is or what realm you're in, you always end up finding that person, you know?

Anyway, this has the potential for much angst, I think! Due to the part where MC might have to hide their words since it's only a human thing. That would be so hard. And you know they couldn't tell Mammon 'cause I don't think he could keep that secret lol.

I've tried to follow guides too, and been essentially unsuccessful. 🥴 My most advanced farm (Sebastian) is in very early endgame (lacking: bottom of Skull Cavern, significant progress on Ginger Island, and Movie Theater); my 2nd farm (Sam) is solidly in midgame (almost done w/ Community Center); and my 3rd farm (Haley or Penny) is in Summer of Year 1. I eventually want to have 1 of each type of farm. 🤠

I am very bored and going through multiple mini existential crises because end sem season ✨️ (exams from tomorrow and I am SO unprepared) so of course, I started watching Perfect 10 Liners.

And it's better than I expected??

To be fair I had very very low expectations of it, but it's giving me We Are nostalgia (HOW TF HAS IT BEEN 4 MONTHS ALREADY) which is always nice.

I am meh about the main couple because honestly it's falling a little flat on it's face. It's giving very cliche tsundere seme/oblivious uke vibes I usually associate with OffGun. See, I don't hate power dynamics but I don't like them either. I only enjoy them when done right (aka Japanese BL). Thai BL had come off those early days and we're (me) all happier for it so this is making me cringe a tiny bit. But the ForceBook chemistry is strong so I'll float away on only that.

The side couple. MarcPoon. I LOVE THEM. That's it that's all I have to say. PondSand and the surprisingly good comedy are 99% of the reason I'm actually kinda enjoying the show. But 24 episodes- Gods give me strength and patience 😭🙏🏼
