Asking anonymously because I don't want anyone to find my current blog but I'm the person who wrote that Carol of the Bells history rant. My partner and I were talking about how it tends to turn back up every December and I jokingly said "yeah, if hellsite-hall-of-fame ever reblogs it I think my soul might leave my body". But then it occurred to me that you probably did? So I checked, and you did, and my soul is, in fact, exiting my body because somehow my horrible college tumblr has a legacy.

Hey everyone I have a bit of a sad announcement

My cat Morty had to have an emergency vet visit early this morning, and the vet bill is a real hit to our tight financial situation

Because what happened to him is a bit graphic I'm not going to say it here, but if you're curious you can dm me or ask in my ask box and I'll flag it with trigger warnings

Y'know I used to always say I liked kids in person but not in theory (reverse from my feelings towards dogs) but I think I finally realised how to word it more accurately. I like kids as people, but not as a responsibility. I do not trust my ability to take care of a kid even temporarily if there's no well-adjusted adult nearby I can ask stuff and call if anything happens, but I love the passion children have for their interests, their fearlessness wrt breaking societal rules they haven't been forced to learn yet and their curiosity about almost anything that's even remotely interesting. I like children, I just don't like being given responsibilities I'm not equipped to handle

i see people argue over likes vs reblogs sometimes, which is a little strange to me... a number is a number, really. they blur together by design. nice to see, especially when you're starting out, but really the important thing is silly little comments. you have no idea how important silly little tags and comments are

#part of why i like tumblr better than all other art platforms is because the tags system makes people more likely to leave comments #maybe because the only person likely to pay attention to the tags on a reblog is the original artist?#so there's not so much pressure to say something “meaningful” or profound #just “i like this! i like this thing very much!” is enough!#because thank you!!! i'm glad you do :)
