4. Say something nice about a ship you don't ship

I will say, while I do clearly ship some things, I'm not much of a shipper. Which is to say, except in the rare instance where something really grabs me, I'll generally just ship what's suggested by canon. This is all to say, I love people who grab random background characters and mash them together. Like, genuinely. Fills me with joy. That is a true shipper, as I see it. Some examples are any of the non Crowley/Aziraphale demon and angel ships. Love the extra drama it adds in the background. This biggest example of this was of course Ineffable Bureaucracy back before it became canon lol. Also liked the drama of Michael/Ligur, what with Michael being the one to deliver the holy water. Good stuff.

10. A blog that has made your fandom experience brighter

There are genuinely so many lovely folks in the GO fandom. Easily one of the most welcoming and talented fandoms I've ever been in. I haven't talked with many of the newer fans (although, always thrilled to say hi) but so many people I met during S1 really made the experience for me. I'm terrible at keeping up with people (Discord often overwhelms me) but still hope you all know I love you all the same.

But if I had to pick just one, @racketghost is of course the ghostest with the mostest. Racket is a brilliant writer, lovely person, and was one of the first people to really talk to me. It meant the world to me when I was trying to figure out how to reach out to more people.

16. A tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate

Oh gosh, this is hard just because the GO fandom of all fandoms has picked apart every single second of the show LOL. I'm really struggling to think of any moment that hasn't gotten some love. Every raised eyebrow and quirk of the lips has been gif'd and turned into meta. If anything, some of y'all need to calm down a little about some of the details. 😂

So, saying all that, instead of going at length about anything really deep and meaningful, I'll say the pub tit touch. Sure, it's gotten lots of love but it can always be appreciated MORE.

It's been approximately 3 weeks since you last answered an ask or written something on here so I'm kind of worried.

I am still alive..... 🤭. Couple weeks ago I made the mistake of deleting my Tumblr. I am just now remembering that this app of mine was missing from my phone.... my memory can be bad at times. I think I am back now.... not fully as yet but I am just halfway there.

The season has picked up pace so I am extremely busy. More flights coming in than usual..... at times these flights ends up getting delayed until night. And I have to end up staying because who wouldn't want an extra dollar on their paycheck right? 😏 Big boss found out that I am always staying for the late flights so he started giving me late shifts on Saturday. Messed up right? Anyways enough about my job... I feel exhausted just thinking about the fact that I have to go in tomorrow.

Anon your concern is appreciated. I am still working on this story if y'all are still wondering. I am aware of the fact that I haven't updated in months. I have gotten a few constructive criticism and by reading over my work I can actually see all the faults, errors and plotholes so that is what I am working on. I want to at least add a scene for the MC mother like what happened after she killed her own child. This scene will be from Ada's POV. One day at a time.... I haven't been doing much because even though I have free time SOMETIMES at work I cannot write in peace.... because well I am shy. My personality draws in a lot of people and because of that I ended up drawing in a handful of co-workers whom I've created a bond with. Their curiosity towards my writing scares the shit outta me so I tend to not write when they're around.

So yeah I am still writing. I'll keep y'all updated on when the next update will drop.... so keep an eye out for that. I do hope everything is going well on your side as well.

Thoughts on the costuming of Bad Buddy (a thread*)

Episode 12:

How is it the last one?! 😭 It's taken me a while to write this because it feels like once I'm done then Bad Buddy really is over...but I can't put it off any longer.

If it weren't enough seeing Pran's mint green towel and Pat and Pran's bedsheets (the former being red and blue, the latter having red, yellow, and blue stripes) in the beginning, surely we should have known they were still together by their first outfits. I mean, they're literally wearing the SAME COLOURS. They're colour coordinating. They've become one. And with Wai in such a vibrant yellow - that should have been an indicator that Pat is still in love and happy!

Generally, a lot of this episode has quite a neutral, earthy palette of colours - apart from some vibrant choices which I'll come to later on. At first I couldn't see a pattern or reasoning for this (I like to make connections) until I took the screenshots and saw the two families side by side. I was then reminded of my interpretation of the confrontation scenes at the end of ep 10 - in which Pran and his mum wear pastel/muted colours whereas Pat's family wear brighter colours and deeper shades, highlighting the differences between the two families.

But now, here, four years later, we have Pat's dad eventually drink the liquor that Pran gave him and Pran's mum giving Pran's guitar to him and smiling when she hears him and Pat upstairs. The families may not have reconciled yet, they might not be openly accepting of their son's boyfriend...but they've started their journey, they're on their way, albeit slowly (and whilst they wait for them, Pat and Pran are living their best life regardless), and this I believe is reflected in the shared palette of colours.

Yes, Pat's family has more red (in the furnishings and Pran's mum's top and earrings) but there is blue in Pat's dad's stripes and Pat's t-shirt (see below). And yes, Pran's mum has a richer blue and there's no red to be seen...but the other colours are similar - and linked by Pat and Pran's once again coordinating colours...even Ink and Pa are contributing to this one big extended family.

Quick aside to bring up again the fact that Pat is wearing the same smile shirt that's in his laundry basket in ep 1 when he first reminisces about him and Pran as kids.

One reoccurring colour in this episode is brown in varying shades, which I think is representative of sacrifice or yielding. Pat and Pran both sacrifice something for each other, they know that to love each other fully they each have to give the other the space they want and need to grow as individuals - Pran goes to Singapore whilst Pat stays in Thailand to work for his father. They also sacrifice some element of their freedom by keeping their relationship a secret from their families and friends...although it also gave them the possibility to be together as a couple - a compromise had to be made. And the parents sacrificed being involved in a part of their son's lives by not being able to put their own rivalry behind them.

In this vein, I was happy to see Pat's dad in brown when he yielded to Dissaya and reversed so that she could drive on before him. 👏🏼

And now for a change of colours...and on to mint green! I've already mentioned Pran's towel at the beginning, but I liked that mint green was included when Pat took Pran to the airport to go to Singapore - symbolising the strength of their union in the moment of physical separation. They may not be seeing each other in person for a while but that doesn't mean they're any less of a couple.

I've also seen a lot of gifs/photos where the creators have enhanced the mintiness of the curtain behind Pat when Pat and Pran are reminiscing the past four years (handily recapping for us the audience as well). It's subtle but I do love that in a moment when they are showing the strength of their love and togetherness, once again mint is present.

And in a similar vein, I was so happy to see Pa in purple! I stand by it being their couple colour (like mint green is for Pat and Pran)...although I wish I could make a cool interpretation for Ink's blue demin shirt...but whatever (maybe it's just there as a connection to Pat 🤷🏽‍♀️ - not everything has to mean something).

So on to the more vibrant colours...I've already written about all the red and blue details in the episode - and that includes Pa and Ink's red and blue outfits in the bar. I do find it interesting that both in the bar/noodle scene and in the high school reunion, Pat is the one in 'neutral' colours (black/grey) whilst Pran is in orangey/red, and then green, blue, red, and white stripes. In some ways this feels like a bit of a reversal for them - it feels easier to associate Pat with the more 'colourful' outfits (even though this seems to show it's actually quite even). @transpat wrote a great analysis of Pat and Pran's character development, which I think explains this reversal well:

"ep12 was such a perfect mirror to ep8. where pat couldn’t bear to keep them a secret and pran was too afraid of being found out, pat now learns their love doesn’t need to be announced to the world to remain valid or for them to stay true to themselves, while pran understands why pat wanted to be loud about his relationship, he’s the one who doesn’t hold his laughter, the one to send his father-in-law gifts."

Pran used to be reserved and feared for the consequences of their relationship...but now he's unabashedly open. Pat used to be loud, brash, and impulsive but now he understands that his love isn't any less if it's quiet. ❤️💙

And lastly, the wonderful final scene 😭 With both of them again in neutral colours but this time Pat has yellow on his shirt...literally wearing his love and happiness on his chest. I received a lovely anon ask regarding all the fairy lights...suggesting that the shear number of lights and electric candles here symbolises Pat and Pran just being done with hiding their love and happiness. They're both loving loudly now.

I can't believe that's it. It's over. It really is over now. 😭

Aro Joy, 1/1 - it’s almost AUTUMN!!!! 🍁🎃🧣 ✨ (and I’m very excited lol, early fall is one of my favourite times of year 😂). Ok but back on topic - I’ve actually had a vision for this specific comic for ... a while 😭 Like, half a year ago. It’s been a journey, accepting my arospec identity (and from what I’ve heard talking to y’all, it’s been like this for many of you too), and though I’ve been open about the bumpier parts of the experience, I wanted to also talk about the positives, all the joys of being aro, too 💚💚🐸

As a general disclaimer: The sentiments here aren’t meant to speak for all aros - because some aros want to be in romantic relationships (or be otherwise partnered), and of course this is equally valid and should be respected! And on the same note, allos can be happy with being, or just want to be single, because again - this isn’t something defined by orientation.

But I think for a lot of us, our arospec orientation can be tied to how feel about our lives in relation to partnership ... which is that, we're okay (or happy) being single! For the longest time, I held it against myself that I wasn’t in a relationship, but not because I wanted to be in one - I just thought it was a milestone that would make other people think of me as a 'real' adult 😭😭 Realizing I was aro gave me the opportunity to reassess how I viewed myself, and my relationships with other people. I was able to actually let go of that idea of having a “””missing piece”””, and appreciate everyone and everything I have in my life. I sound kinda cheesy saying this, but for the first time, I think I have everything I've ever wanted, relationships wise? I'm at peace, and I really appreciate it.
