i will be so biased towards this post honestly.. the way i literally have an extremely long post in my notes app of snzcanons for this loser. i feel like its gonna put my other hc posts to shame… oh well ! w/rio and n/euvi for you lovely anon

also should preface by saying i love these two as a pairing so there might be some shippy stuff or whatever, also i have some Thoughts about potential kink!n/euvillette but theyll be right at the bottom if that isnt anyones cup of tea so you can skip :)

has 100% been said before but him having spent so much time in the fortress of m/eropide away from the entire outside world he has definitely got some awful hayfever

↳ i see him as the ceo of allergy denial too. he has no problem admitting when he’s sick but as soon as it comes to allergies its like talking to a brick wall “are you sure youre okay” “*very very obviously not okay* yep”

↳ will be denying until every subsequent snz has his head spinning

unless its someone(s) he’s properly comfortable with, he will be stifling in front of people

↳ …even though stifling is kind of a Task. i imagine it starts to hurt after a few

normally he will snz in doubles exclusively unless he does stifle then that will take it up to maybe four at once, nothing too excessive

↳ not hugely loud? but definitely not quiet. theyre pretty heavy too with a decent amount of force behind them, as such: “hhuh’dDJSHhh! …’djiISHHh’uh!”

↳ stifles into a fist, regular snz into his elbow and he grips the elbow w his other hand

↳ i also have this really specific thought that after he stifles a couple of times, the next snz gears up immediately after and he has this gasping, stuttery buildup before the last snz that will be very much harsher and ultimately unstifleable: and i spelled it out too! “hh’nNGt! ‘GKKts! -ahH! h-hhaaHh’GKSHHh’uh!”

(these headcanons are literally getting princess treatment im so sorry to all the other characters. my bias is showing)

aside from above though, (and allergic snzs) his buildups are next to nonexistent. he has a few tells, if you look closely you’ll see his brows draw together, nostrils flare and maybe a fluttery blink before a single hitching breath and then he’s off

colds 💭💭💭 when he’s sick i feel like he gets tired a lot, but he kinda ignores it and wont sleep any more than he usually does (which probably isnt a lot)

↳ although if someone were to insist that he take a break, he would 100% be passed straight out the second he was horizontal

↳ think he has such a gorgeous sick voice… LMFAO - its just slightly deeper and with the tiniest gravelly quality + those kind of rounded out consonants… yeah

definitely isnt particularly kind on his nose, especially when it comes to allergies.. he knuckles at it with way too much force

↳ i think partly because being just itchy would bother him to no end, doesnt let him concentrate on anything

i have a whole thing in my head about him fighting in p/ankration or whatever and getting a bloody nose, whether it be when he’s sick or allergies are just particularly bad but hes just sneezy about it … yeah

↳ broken/injured nose = no touching, so he can’t stifle for a while. because of this he ends up hovering a hand awkwardly in front of his face like a shield (blood everywhere, most likely.) also he cant rub it in this state, so his nose will most certainly be scrunched up (which hurts just as much, but he finds being itchy is more annoying than being in pain)

↳ some other thoughts idk. he’s trying to clean up a wound on his face but the alcohol reaaallly gets to him; eyes are streaming and hes sniffling so bad and he has a three second window to get it done before he’s sneezing lmfao

something to do with the dog/wolf motifs of his character, he definitely scrunches up his nose when its irritated

↳ maybe an involuntary little head shake/twitch after a particularly harsh snz

has a habit of turning fully away to snz, obviously to be polite to anyone whos there but he also does it when hes alone. just turns around lmao

i see him as slightly photic, again just because he spends so much time in the dingy ass fortress so there’s probably a bit of light sensitivity there

↳ however i feel like its never enough to actually make him sneeze, it just tingles a bit and is generally annoying… but it DOES prove useful for coaxing out a stuck snz

probably anti-holdbacks until he has a raging headcold with an awful throat so even breathing hurts, so he’ll try his best to stave sneezes off

stifles all. the. time. i know this

↳ they’re basically silent, pinched between two fingers, but occasionally the tail end will slip out so there’ll be a bit of a “kssh!” to be heard

↳ singles usually with the occasional double that honestly catches him off guard, he never expects more than one

↳ probably takes a lot of convincing to get him to Not stifle. unstifled snz i think isnt super vocal in sound, and is decently forceful and kinda wet: “ehH’tchSHHhh!” something like that

i think dust and particularly potent fragrances make him sneeze - he isnt allergic per se, just sensitive

↳ for this reason he likes to keep his space very clean and tidy and without perfume or whatever. an outsider’s perspective might see it as plain but he does it for his own benefit

↳ probably had to tell w/riothesley to stop wearing cologne when he visits

doesnt get sick very often, he probably has a good immune system and this paired with being nonhuman probably means hes not susceptible to colds

↳ HOWEVER. on the off chance he does come down with something, you absolutely know about it. it’s very clear in his face - eyes and nose both rimmed red, and he just looks pretty tired in general.

↳ colds for him are probably very sneezy too,, poor guy lmfao

↳ also, with the thing where it rains when he’s sad… being the hydro dragon and all the weather probably turns pretty foul until he’s feeling better (puts a whole new meaning on the phrase “under the weather” hahaha)

↳ obviously continues to work through it who do you think he is! even if he has a court case, he’ll stay through the whole thing even if his head is pounding and he’s stifled enough to burst a blood vessel

↳ in court if anyone notices the obvious congestion in his voice nobody dares make a comment lmfao - this makes him think he’s got away with it even though its blatant he’s unwell

↳ the people close to him finding out he’s sick for the first time definitely involves a lot of “wow, i didn’t know you could even get sick”

dutifully blesses other people but gets lowkey flustered if anyone else says bless you to him

alright. here’s my kink!n/euvillette thoughts with w/riothesley so skip this part if that isn’t your thing :)

- is definitely one to comment on w/riothesley’s snz, and kind of challenge him when he denies being allergic to things… such as “that was five back to back, are you quite sure it’s nothing?”/“that sounded like it hurt”/“i’ve never seen you sneeze that many times in a row”

- would have a vase of rainbow roses or something on his desk completely nonchalantly when “professionally” meeting with w/riothesley. neither of them comment on it whilst n/euvillette watches w/riothesley try his damnedest to keep composure knowing full well he’ll never admit the flowers are bothering him

- n/euvillette definitely becomes a totally different person when its anything to do w the kink,, like he’s the last person you’d expect for it but he will literally be making an absolute wreck of w/riothesley

- something about dragons and “needs” or whatever….. i have no knowledge about monsterfucking or dragons or anything but there’s probably something there right??? someone who knows more might inform me do dragons have heat

He’s really fair so the cold usually makes the tip of his nose a soft pink color, but you can TELL he’s more irritated today—the blush growing to his cheeks and eyes. Just him clumsily stifling sneeze after sneeze that keeps jumping out at him.

Kk so now for the snz canons 😏

🛡️He’s immunocompromised, so he gets sick a LOT and gets hit HARD. When sick his sneezes sound more desperate, usually causing him to gasp before each one

🛡️He usually sneezes in singles because he gets a lot of fits. So they’re not actually singles, they’re just spaced out lol. When not having a fit it’s either singles or doubles.

🛡️His sneezes are surprisingly soft. It irritates him because no sneeze is truly satisfying.

🛡️His buildups look like this: he kinda just stares off into space with his lips slightly parted, then gasps.

🛡️His sneezes usually make no mess, and he covers with his fist. His buildups give him enough time to cover.

🛡️His eyes are bright teal so they’re sensitive, so the light definitely sets him off.

🛡️On a bad allergy day or when he’s sick he knows the mess is coming so he carries and handkerchief.

🛡️He has a very sensitive nose, especially cus it’s broken. He always has tho. Just rubbing his nostril the wrong way can cause him to sneeze or hitch.

🛡️He has mean seasonal allergies and sneezes so much sometimes to the point he gets comments on it. Ex. “You’re running out of bless yous”, “are you still going?” Etc.

🛡️He has fits almost every early morning in the spring, and scattered throughout the days during other seasons.

hiiiii thank you so much for the ask!! i totally have not already been writing these out in my notes app before i even saw this lol 🫣👀

- i imagine him as a chronic habitual stifler, although his stifled snz is rarely ever silent enough to make a difference—he has a damp, kind of squeaky sounding stifle (think snz spellings with lots of X’s)

- when he does let them out, his snz is more wet and vocal, but not particularly loud or drawn-out (eEH’idSHhoo! hH—iieEHh’SShuhh!)

- when he’s got a cold, he’s better off just letting his snz out because stifling will make way more of a mess

- being sick always make him really exhausted; even just a cold leaves him out of commission just from how sleepy he gets

- wrinkles and scrunches his nose when he has to sneeze

- somewhat embarrassed about sneezing in front of other people

- buuuuut he’s also a nervous yapper, so if he’s close enough with the person, he’d do a full 180 and just be one of those people who always has to comment on their own sneezing (“ehww.. sorry, had a tickle.” “‘scuse me! ugh, i’m so itchy—snfffff!—and stuffy.” “bless me, sorry!”)

- always good about covering; uses his elbow or the inside of his shirt collar, though with stifling he’s more lax. might press a knuckle under his nose or jerk down towards his shoulder

- he’s huge cat lover, but also extremely allergic. he’s also allergic to certain kinds of trees/plants, but doesn’t have a clue what kind

- not exactly allergic to dust per say, but definitely sensitive to it (i have this scenario in mind of something with the ventilation system on the tu/lpar malfunctioning, so him and swa/nsea go to work on it and all the built-up dust leaves his sneezing off and on for rest of the day)

- i feel like it would take A Lot for him to figure out if he’s allergic to something. someone might even have to point it out to him before it clicks. (I don’t know why I keep sneezing so much… huh. I guess I do always get pretty itchy when I’m around [X]. Maybe… maybe I’m allergic or something?)

I see I'm in good company! Well, here are some rambling thoughts I had to write out, aka Bearcanons, aka C/armen B/erzatto snzcanons 😌

T/he B/ear Snzcanons: C/army

(Aka C/armen B/erzatto had better stop looking at me like that.)

-This man is perpetually sniffling 

-Such a sensitive nose, reacts to certain spices (which is an ironic curse), perfumes, and even temperature change.

-Is sure to remind the kitchen that he's not sick – and depending on what mood he's in, that sentence could be delivered calmly or with irritation. People who have just met him are concerned by it, but people who have known him forever hardly notice anymore. 

-Truly struggles not to scrub at his nose when he's in the kitchen because that would just mean washing his hands twice as often 

-Also doesn't carry tissues/a handkerchief for the same reason, he's obsessed with being as sanitary as possible. As a result, he's just sniffling constantly 

-When he does stop for a rare break, he's probably scrubbing at his face like crazy; eyes watery and nose/cheeks tinged red (and pissed off because he doesn't have time for this)

-Stifle expert, can do it almost silently. Only Sydney will catch him at it, whisking by with a knowing bless you, Chef and a little smile. He'll mutter uh, thanks, half surprised that she could hear and half embarrassed that she did. 

-Speaking of sneezes, they usually come in threes or fours. He can feel them coming on for ages, his nose itching and buzzing for what feels like hours. Carmy will turn his back to the rest of the kitchen or sneak off to the freezer until he thinks he's through with them. 

-Usually pressing a knuckle to the side of his nose is his preferred method of stifling. (If he's not fast enough to stifle like that, he'll pinch his nose, but that's not preferred because it can get messy.) 

-If his hands are dirty (which is about half the time) and he has to sneeze, then he has to resort to muffling the sound into the collar of his chef's coat. 

-When the fit is done, he'll sigh deeply, inevitably followed with a fuck or goddamnit. 

-When he's alone, he doesn't stifle, because letting out a sneeze feels weirdly good? (unrealized sneezing fetish Carmy 👀 👁️👄👁️)

-His natural sneeze is really airy and a bit harsh. Too many in a row will definitely scrape his throat. Even if he's not in the kitchen, he'll cover in an elbow. And if anyone were to catch him at it (god forbid), he'd blush furiously and apologize.

so nori always sneezes in TRIPLES. if its any more shes coming down with something

ABSOLUTELY a denier until she cant anymore. shell be sneezing nonstop and incredibly feverish and still deny shes coming down with something

actually one of the only drones to have allergies! shes allergic to certain perfumes AND colognes the humans experimenting on her and yeva used, but not every scent gave her a reaction (to this day doesnt know which ones set her off)

absoluetly a kinky mf. makes sneezing a game for herself usually

covers with her hand or the nearest fabric (ie. blanket wrapped around her, her shirt, etc), if she covers at all—

didnt catch colds in her core form. loooooootta pent-up horny going on from that

directly asked khan to sneeze for her after they got married (he was a lil confused but he indulged her)

would also do things to make yeva sneeze back in the labs. be it give her her cold or induce sneezes, if she was desperate enough yeva would sneeze

sometimes, when she was sick, shed purposefully trigger the Solver and bring cyn out to suffer. wouldnt last long but she thought it was funny

- no sneezing pattern. ranges from singles to triples, but it's really just unpredictable. triples are rare, but happen often enough that it's not exactly surprising when they happen

- has the most DRAMATIC buildups ever. this fuckin' guy

- cannot stifle to save his life.

- absolutely has dad sneezes. i'm sorry b/c i do make the rules but like... i'm unlikely to write snz content for steve so it doesn't matter.

- gets sensitive? like, if he's being triggered by an allergen or is sick, it's usually not too hard to make him sneeze

- steve kind of shudders into his sneezes, meaning that he won't bend into them but he will move with them, if that makes sense

- sneezes into his elbow! good job sir

- is fine with being sick. honestly, steve's the only one who genuinely doesn't mind being sick, mostly because his partners dote on him and they're generally very sweet :)

- runs warm. very warm. not enough to be considered feverish, but he's like. a full degree above the average person and is pretty much a space heater. can be very nice or very bad to sleep with

- gets sick once or twice a year, nothing more or less than normal

- illness for him is usually nothing or mildly Bad

- allergic to mold, but it's rarely, RARELY an issue for him

- embarrassed about his sneezes just because they're loud

you can tell i am tired. finished my big final earlier today, so i am fucking exhausted lol. hope these were okay; i do enjoy steve as a character but not making him sneeze ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think I've mentioned it before, but I'm not good at snz spellings/describing snz. But in my head, I think his sneezes would end in a sorta "-iiish!!" sound?

That being said, I think his sneezes would produce a bit of spray. It only gets worse when he has a cold.

Speaking of colds, he's pretty good at catching them.

Like for example, this one time he had to deliver a parcel to DragonSpine but had to stay a bit longer since he got lost and returned to Liyue, sniffling and not having a good time :(

Kind of a stubborn sickie? Not in the sense of "I'm not sick, I don't get sick!!" but "Everyone's counting on me and I don't want to let them down"

Sensitive to cold temperatures. I was so disappointed when his when his "When it snows" voiceline had "ah-eh.." only for him to be catching snowflakes on his tongue

Firework/firecracker dust makes him sneeze.

A mild flower allergy.

When it comes to build-ups, they're generally pretty short, unless there's something making his nose itch, but not quite enough to make him sneeze.

Would probably ask for help to un-stuck a sneeze.

Pretty decent at holding back and stifling hands-free (yk, cuz his hands are full sometimes delivering parcels.) Although, he doesn't stifle/hold back very often.

When it comes to covering, he either uses the crook of his arm, pulls the hem of his shirt up to his nose, or lifts up the neck part of his shirt.

↳ this definitely makes no sense at all but his sneezes sound like they tickle a lot. i can’t explain this they just do

very easily induced by like. physical means (so not scents or pollen but rather sticking something up there. you get what i mean)

↳ this is the only way to get these little rapid fittish snzs out of him — “hahh’kisshh-kshh’chshh’hue!” like three to four in one go

he doesnt completely stop working when he’s sick but he will take it easy until he’s well agaib

m/oze time. he’s also allergic to dust! he says in one of his idle texts that he enjoys cleaning and i like to think his dust sensitivity is partly why

↳ also him and j/iaoqiu both being allergic to dust is all the more reason to keep their space clean if hypothetically theoretically they were boyfriends

true to his character & canon stealth, he is a master of both stifling absolutely silently and also holding back when he needs to

↳ and he stifles (silently) 90% of the time, twice in a row every time without fail

↳ the other 10% he’s probably accidentally scaring people with unstifled snzs 😞 his buildups are practically soundless so nobody expects when “huh’sSCHHhue! ‘hiHSZHHh’uh!” suddenly bursts out of him with no warning

he doesn’t share j/iaoqiu’s taste for spicy food… perhaps because he is sensitive to it

↳ he’ll be like “i… have a low spice tolerance” knowing full well half the reason his eyes are watering is because of how badly he needs to sneeze

just full marathoned H/arry p/otter and man how I would like to see professor s/nape sneeze. I just know he’d stifle during class, but walk out of the classroom mid-lecture to have a quick couple of loud, boisterous fits.

Poor Konnie has been getting hit with false start ups lately. He can’t ever get a break from me 😭 Ever since Konrad returned from the Feywild, he’s altered in many ways and unfortunately for me and luckily for him, his constitution went from an 8 to an 18 😭 First campaign (a year ago) he was super sneezy cus his constitution was bad and now that it’s good I had to come up with some way to torture him. So now he literally cannot sneeze, but instead suffers intense false starts whenever his nose is triggered, whether it be by allergies, colds, or being touched the wrong way (it’s broken so it’s pretty sensitive.) His false start ups almost sound like unusual sneezes, so much so sometimes he’ll get a “bless you.. I think?” Bro’s nose has literally not gotten relief in a year…. 😏

for those who know the lore of the game: for p1/no i’m imagining him in his puppet turned “human” game route, but for ro/m3o it could go for both human and puppet versions of his character, whichever you want to imagine. personally the idea of a super tall robo hottie sneezing is too hot for me to give af about how unrealistic any of this is so 🤷

- sneezes in doubles, with a slight pause in between. it's not really long enough for people to think that she's done, but it's long enough that there's a sense of ✨anticipation✨ lol

- pitchy buildups. you know those people whose pitch just gets higher on each breath? yeah that's nancy. they're not long, but steve did tease her about it a bit when they were dating in high school

- can stifle, but doesn't like to? nancy finds it uncomfortable when she does it, and tends to get a little self-conscious because like. stifling is something she likes, so to her, it's a lil funky to be fulfilling her own preferences

- unrelated, but hair bounce when sneeze. idk it's just cute to me

- i've never seen this next one talked about before, but i think nancy would close her eyes pretty hard whenever she sneezes, regardless of the force.

- sneezes into her elbow or the back of her wrist. the latter is only when she's forced to stifle though

- isn't afraid to admit that she's sick but also just won't stay put. like she'll tell steve and jonathan that she's sick and they'll be like "cool now please stay in bed" and twenty minutes later they'll find her cleaning the dishes or something. nancy please rest

- normal temp! she would make it easy to tell if she's actually running a fever or not, unlike her boyfriends

- straight-up just doesn't get sick. nancy got sick badly once as a little baby and her immune system fully went "yeah no we're not doing that shit again" and toughened up. she hasn't been sick once since eighth grade

- that's part of the reason why she doesn't like resting if she's sick; nancy doesn't ever consider herself "sick enough" to take a break, and she's usually correct.

- if she were to get sick, her symptoms would literally just be a cough and a headache or something. like illness does NOTHING to her, making her the designated caregiver <3

- very few allergies as well.

- maybe she'll react to dust if there's a lot of it? really it's nbd though

- the one thing that DOES get to nancy is this spice called star anise. it's used in a lot of asian dishes (pho, biryani, etc) but i think american people mostly use it in cookies and jams and stuff. but yeah it really gets to nancy, although her reactions are pretty quick. remove the allergen and she'll be fine in a minute or two

- hates sneezing. she likes it for other people, but not herself
