In a world where stress is a constant companion, coloring offers a unique escape. Free printable coloring pages, or Coloriage gratuit imprimer, provide an accessible and creative outlet for kids and adults alike. Whether you’re looking to relax, entertain your children, or tap into your artistic side, this collection has something for everyone. Let’s explore why these coloring pages have become such a cherished pastime and how they can brighten your life.
What Are Free Printable Coloring Pages?
Free printable coloring pages are digital designs that you can easily download and print at home. They range from simple shapes for kids to intricate patterns for adults. These pages are perfect for anyone seeking a creative and affordable activity without the hassle of buying expensive coloring books.
Why Coloring is Loved by All Ages
Coloring is one of those rare activities that appeal to everyone, regardless of age. Why? It’s simple, accessible, and incredibly satisfying. Think of it as a mini-vacation for your mind. Whether you’re a child exploring creativity or an adult seeking relaxation, coloring has universal appeal.
Benefits of Coloring for Adults
For adults, coloring is more than just a pastime—it’s a form of self-care. The act of focusing on intricate designs can reduce stress, improve concentration, and even spark creativity. Imagine coming home after a stressful day, grabbing your favorite Coloriage gratuit imprimer, and letting your worries fade with each stroke of color. It’s like therapy but with a splash of fun!
Why Coloring is Important for Kids
Coloring isn’t just fun for kids—it’s educational. It helps improve their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and even their ability to focus. Plus, it gives them a chance to express their individuality through color choices and creativity. Isn’t it amazing how something so simple can be so beneficial?
Themes That Inspire Creativity
Themed coloring pages are a fantastic way to spark imagination. From fantasy worlds filled with unicorns and castles to space adventures with rockets and planets, there’s no limit to the creative possibilities. These themes can transport you to a new world with just a few crayons or markers.
Seasonal and Holiday-Themed Pages
Seasonal coloring pages bring the magic of holidays to life. Imagine coloring spooky pumpkins for Halloween, snowy scenes for Christmas, or blooming flowers for spring. These pages add a festive touch to any celebration and make for great DIY decorations or gifts.
Animal-Inspired Coloring Fun
Animal lovers will adore pages featuring cute pets, exotic wildlife, and marine creatures. These designs not only entertain but also educate kids about different species. For adults, they provide a delightful escape into the beauty of the animal kingdom.
Nature and Scenery Coloring Pages
Nature-themed pages are perfect for those who love the outdoors. Whether it’s a serene mountain landscape, a vibrant flower garden, or a peaceful forest, these designs allow you to bring the beauty of nature to life through colors.
Kawaii and Pop Culture Coloring Pages
The kawaii trend—adorable, cartoon-style illustrations—has captivated people of all ages. Whether it’s chubby animals, smiling food items, or cheerful characters, these pages bring a sense of joy and lightheartedness. Pop culture themes featuring favorite movie or TV characters are equally popular.
Tips for Printing Perfect Coloring Pages
To get the best results from your Coloriage gratuit imprimer, use good-quality paper and adjust your printer settings to ensure sharp lines and vibrant colors. Avoid thin paper to prevent ink or marker bleed-through, especially for more detailed designs.

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies | Family Cuisine
<p><strong>Chocolate Crinkle Cookies </strong>- these are a decadently rich and chocolatey cookie with a melt-in-your mouth fudgy softness and a gorgeously contrasted, crackled powdered sugar finish. They’re a lot like a brownie or your favorite chocolate cake but in cookie form and everybody loves them!</p> <p><img src="https://ift.tt/2X9VLsW" alt="Chocolate Crinkle Cookies shown on a plate by a lit Christmas tree and red napkin." /></p> <h2>Classic Chocolate Crinkle Cookies</h2> <p>An easy to make cookie that is very likely to become a family favorite!</p> <p>There’s plenty of pronounced yet perfectly welcomed chocolate flavor here which is paired and nicely complimented by that sweet layer of powdered sugar. And I just can’t get enough of that too tender to resist texture.</p> <p>This is the classic Hershey’s Chocolate Crinkle Cookie recipe and I’m yet to try one I like better. All around they’re just a perfectly satisfying cookie that’s been around for decades!</p> <p>They’re a classic must-have cookie recipe that’s worthy of the recipe book, plus they are perfect for the holidays with that snowy white finish.</p> <p>And who doesn’t love how magical they are? My kids think it’s amazing how you roll them in powdered sugar before baking, then pop them in the oven and you end with such a surprising finish! Snow capped tops with dark and beautiful, lightly concaved crinkles throughout.</p> <p>Just plan on sharing, this recipes makes an abundance of cookies!</p> <p><img src="https://ift.tt/3npD0No" alt="Chocolate Crinkle Cookies shown overhead laying on a wooden surface." /></p> <h2>Chocolate Crinkle Cookie Recipe Ingredients</h2> <ul> <li><strong>All-purpose flour:</strong> Preferably use unbleached flour.</li> <li><strong>Baking powder:</strong> This helps the cookies rise nice and puffy and create the crinkle effect.</li> <li><strong>Salt:</strong> Just use table salt.</li> <li><strong>Granulated sugar:</strong> The sugar is essential not only to bring sweetness but a fair amount offers great texture and balances the bold flavor of the cocoa.</li> <li><strong>Vegetable oil:</strong> Vegetable oil works really well for these cookies rather than butter. Just think of the same effect you get with chocolate cake - it makes it super moist. Something you could replace it with is light olive oil.</li> <li><strong>Cocoa powder:</strong> Just use standard unsweetened, no Dutch process.</li> <li><strong>Eggs:</strong> Eggs bind ingredients and also help achieve the crackled appearance in the cookies. Don’t omit or substitute in this recipe (if you have an allergy I recommend looking for a specifically egg-free recipe for them).</li> <li><strong>Vanilla extract:</strong> This is the perfect compliment to the chocolate flavor.</li> <li><strong>Powdered sugar:</strong> A critical ingredient for the appearance we are going for. It also adds more needed sweetness.</li> </ul> <p>Scroll below for full printable recipe.</p> <p><img src="https://ift.tt/3A2MZvy" alt="Image of ingredients used to make chocolate crinkle cookies. Includes flour, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, eggs, hershey" /><img src="https://ift.tt/3tFsDGb" alt="Collage of six images showing how to make chocolate crinkle cookies. First image is mixing dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Next shows mixing oil and sugar in stand mixer and shows it blended after. Then shows cocoa before and after mixing in. And last adding in eggs." /></p> <h2>How to Make Chocolate Crinkle Cookies</h2> <ol> <li>In a medium mixing bowl <strong>whisk together flour, baking powder and salt</strong>, <strong>set aside</strong>.</li> <li>In the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, <strong>blend together granulated sugar and oil</strong>.</li> <li><strong>Mix in cocoa powder</strong> and blend well.</li> <li><strong>Beat in eggs and vanilla</strong>.</li> <li><strong>Add in flour mixture and mix until blended</strong>.</li> <li><strong>Cover dough and refrigerate overnight.</strong></li> <li>The following day <strong>preheat oven to 350 degrees</strong>. <strong>Line baking sheets</strong> with parchment paper or silicone liners.</li> <li>Place powdered sugar in a small mixing bowl.</li> <li>Remove about 1/4 of the dough from the refrigerator at a time to work with and let remaining chill.</li> <li><strong>Shape dough into balls</strong> about 1-inch each.</li> <li><strong>Roll in powdered sugar</strong> then <strong>place on prepared baking sheet</strong> spacing them 2-inches apart.</li> <li><strong>Bake in preheated oven 10 - 13</strong> <strong>minutes</strong> until nearly set - they should be soft when touched and should appear slightly under-baked.</li> <li><strong>Cool</strong> on baking sheet several minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool.</li> <li>Store cookies in an airtight container once they are nearly cool. Repeat process with remaining dough.</li> </ol> <p><img src="https://ift.tt/2YO4zFR" alt="Collage of six images showing steps to finishing crinkle cookie dough by mixing in flour. Then shows scooping it out with a cookies scoop after dough is chilled and more solid. Then image shows rolling in powdered sugar and last includes dough balls on baking sheet." /></p> <p><img src="https://ift.tt/3k28Jlx" alt="Chocolate Crinkle Cookies shown on parchment paper baking sheet after baking." /></p> <h2>Storage and Shelf Life</h2> <ul> <li>Store cookies in an airtight container in a single layer if possible.</li> <li>I like to use a cookie sheet with a tight fitting lid.</li> <li>Store at room temperature up to 3 days or refrigerate up to 1 week.</li> </ul> <h2>Can I use a hand mixer?</h2> <p>Yes a hand mixer will work well for this recipe too. It’s a fairly thin cookie dough batter.</p> <h2>Can chocolate crinkle cookies be frozen?</h2> <ul> <li>The baked cookies can be frozen up to 3 months. Keep parchment paper between layers. Just keep in mind the pretty white finish may dissolve and get a bit sticky upon thawing.</li> <li>The dough does freeze well up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before rolling in powered sugar and baking.</li> </ul> <h2>Variations</h2> <ul> <li>Add 1/2 tsp peppermint extract for a minty chocolate cookie.</li> <li>Stuff with a Rolo chocolate before baking for a molten caramel center.</li> <li>Freeze teaspoons dollops of Nutella or peanut butter until solid. Add to the center of cookie dough balls before baking.</li> <li>Try adding 1 tsp instant espresso powder to the dough for a light mocha flavor.</li> <li>Mix in some chopped pecans, walnuts into the dough.</li> <li>Top with a Hershey’s kiss after baking (chocolate or peppermint).</li> </ul> <h2>Helpful Tips for Chocolate Crinkle Cookies</h2> <ul> <li><strong>For best results use a kitchen scale</strong> to measure ingredients if you have on, otherwise be sure to use the proper method as listed for measuring.</li> <li><strong>Don’t skip the chilling</strong>, otherwise dough will be way too sticky and unmanageable to work with.</li> <li><strong>For less stickiness use freezing option. </strong>Also coating hands with non-stick cooking spray may be helpful if needed too.</li> <li><strong>Coat generously with powdered sugar</strong> for a beautiful contrast from the light and dark finish.</li> <li>I like to <strong>remove cookies while they look just slightly under-baked</strong>. That way they are more fudgy and brownie-like.</li> <li>If you want them to spread a little more you can press down on them slightly before baking then sprinkle over a little more powdered sugar if needed.</li> </ul> <p><img src="https://ift.tt/3npAS83" alt="Chocolate Crinkle Cookies" /></p> <h2>More Cookie Favorites to Try</h2> <ul> <li>Mexican Wedding Cookies</li> <li>Lemon Crinkle Cookies</li> <li>Peanut Butter Crinkle Cookies</li> <li>Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies</li> <li>Shortbread Cookies</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Recipe source: adapted from Hershey’s</p> source https://familycuisine.net/how-to-make-boiled-cookies/

Coronavirus - Schools
K-12 National School Closings: Map + List;
Educations Week also has an ongoing list of articles they're producing on Education and Coronavirus. Including: how to deploy school nurses, who gets paid and how if schools are shut down, lessons learned from remote learning, how education companies are adjusting.
Most Districts Wont Be Ready for Remote Learning...has links to some digital learning resources from curriculum development to groups doing advocacy
Mountain Brook Schools in Alabama started developing an emergency e-learning strategy while preparing for the H1N1 virus in 2009. Schools ended up not needing to close for that event, but the district still developed an “eDay program” and learned some valuable lessons, according to Donna Williamson, who retired last year as the district’s chief technology officer.
Individual districts could lift each other up as well. After a particularly snowy winter closed schools for numerous days during the 2017-18 school year, South Windsor Public Schools in Connecticut began developing “Snow Day Scholars,” a distance learning program that includes online components but doesn’t require students to have internet access or a digital device at home.
“Students Are Lonely: What Happens When Corona Virus Forces Schools Online” - Important takeaways re educator’s transition to online learning and some approaches from the international community. A learning community that has relative access to resources tho.
“In general, teachers and schools are not used to an online environment,” explains Watts, who taught for years in Hong Kong but is now based in Princeton, N.J. “So much of teaching is a relationship—and understanding what that looks like online is a completely new venue to figure out.” One enterprising principal she knows created a Google folder for schools to share their virtual learning plans. Another educator started a burgeoning Facebook group for international educators to trade tips and began a detailed list of helpful online tools, including the digital portfolio platform Seesaw and the ebook library Epic.
However, teachers can run the risk of assigning too much work or feeling pressured to spend too much of their time connecting with students. On the international educator Facebook group, teachers cited a need for setting boundaries, describing 12 or 18 hour days that can leave them exhausted.
To lessen demands on his time, Lee Shawver often has students wrestle with problems alone or in groups, using the distance imposed by virtual learning to get students problem solving or thinking critically. “I’ve been very deliberate about that,” he says. “Sometimes saying to my kids, ‘Hey, I’m not ignoring you. I’m not being rude. I’m trying to build a skill here.”
Though LeClair says her teachers are also mindful to assign screen-free activities, such as recording the details of their physical activity and building things out of household materials.
“Parents can be forgotten in all of this because their kids are home now and they’re having to be like the lead teacher or tutor for their kids,” says Lee Shawver. “It’s just turning families upside down.” Recently, the Shawvers’ school in Qingdao began a program called Mindfulness Mondays, where students complete writing reflections on a weekly theme—this week it’s superheroes—with podcasts and activities for parents and teachers as well. “We’re trying to think of ways to build community through this,” Robin Shawver says. “Just so people can kind of lighten the load of both the work and the anxiety that everybody’s feeling.”
Those that typically perform well in the classroom are adapting well to the online environment. Other students, however, are struggling. “Students are bored; students are lonely,” he says. “It’s much easier to hide in a digital world. And we have students who are just completely absent.”
The Case for Shutting Down Schools Instead of Moving Online
For instance, a Washington State community college study found that most students on average do worse in online courses compared to face-to-face ones, but younger students, Black and Latino students, and students with low prior GPA do even worse.
In MOOCs, we found that students whose parents didn’t earn a BA were more likely to drop out than students whose parents have a BA. And that effect was most pronounced for the youngest students.
I won’t second guess the folks in the trenches who have to make these hard decisions. But if your school does go online, the first question should not be “what tech should I use?” The first question needs to be "How do we support our most vulnerable students?”
If you do go online, figure out how you will make ongoing, human connections with your most vulnerable students. The best online teachers I’ve met tell me that most of their time is spent tracking down students who need help, especially those who don’t ask for it.
Pod Mapping for Mutual Aid - identifying individuals and community resources. Has a worksheet that can be replicated pretty simply and includes link to printable worksheet.
Visual breakdown of military spending v. spending that could be allocated towards fighting the coronavirus.
"Amid Coronavirus Fears, the CDC told Schools to Plan for Remote Learning. That Harder Than it Sounds” Re vulture tech companies
This has opened up an opportunity for tech companies trying to market products enabling distance learning, though experts caution districts not to rush into making big investments.
Companies are jumping at the opportunity to showcase products in districts that are at least considering remote learning. This week, the for-profit education company K12, one of the largest providers of online curriculum in the country, started contacting school districts in counties that have been affected by the new coronavirus in Washington and California to offer their services in the event that schools are closed.
Free online services: The company behind the popular online quiz site BrainPOP is offering free use of its tools to schools closed due to the virus. Outschool, an online learning program that’s often used for home-schooling, is offering free teacher training about how to hold classes online by video. And Khan Academy, a nonprofit that offers free online lessons and quizzes, is drafting a page aimed at helping new users get started if they are facing school closures.
Other research has found that students don’t suffer much academically from occasional snow days, but they do post lower test scores after longer spells of closed school.
Interim Guidance for Administrators of U.S. Childcare Programs similar break down as... California School Guidance for Corona Virus - Has had to experiment a little more with remote learning bc of recent increase in forest fires... Broken down by 4 categories:
Preventative Measures
Coordinate with all partner organizations serving students to ensure consistent practices
If two or more cases of people being exposed in the larger community
Develop a plan to communicate with the school community
Consider alternates to congregate or group programming within the school including any large or communal activities such as assemblies. Alternate approaches which limit close contact may include conducting assemblies via webcasts or intercom announcements.
Consider implementing staggered recess times to limit the number of students who are together; and if possible, group recess by classrooms
If one or more people in your school are exposed
Implement communication plans for school closure to include outreach to students, parents, teachers, staff, and the community. Include information for parents regarding labor laws, information regarding Disability Insurance, Paid Family Leave, and Unemployment Insurance.
If one or more schools in your district are exposed
Determine the timing of return of students and staff, and any additional steps needed for the school to reopen, in consultation with the local public health department.
Petition made to Chairman of FCC Ajit Pai for bridging digital divide in response to COVID 19 -using post-Katrina as an example.
Coronavirus: Wisdom from a Social Justice Lens - heard that this is a good podcast from multiple people but havent listened yet. Centers people with chronic illness + disabilities.

Stand, Alone if You Must, But Stand
August 24, 2018
When I was heading into Jr. High my mom sat us all down and told us this would be the most important counsel given that year, stand, alone if you must, but stand.
My mom held a family council and presented a new family motto to everyone, my dad, all of my siblings and I. It was a motto that she felt in her heart was going to be one of the most important things she could teach teenagers and parents. Well, none of us were parents yet, but she felt we would need it for when we became parents. Stand, alone if you must, but stand.
And we have a special surprise for you so make sure to head to the end of the post!
When Their Standards Aren’t Your Standards
School was easy for me growing up. Well, not math, oh how I still hate math. But the rest of it was easy for me and I loved to be with friends just like any normal teen.
Except for one thing.
Kids were starting to dabble in things that I had been taught weren’t good and that I should avoid. And by dabble I mean really get into. I didn’t really talk to my parents about it, but they knew what it meant to grow up. I was feeling more and more like I was alone in my standards and beliefs.
However, one family council taught me a motto that changed my perspective on things. And today we wanted to share it with all of you, and give you an opportunity to have the same family council in your home and hang up your own motto.
Stand, Alone if You Must, But Stand
Mom and Dad held a special Family Home Evening.
Have you heard of FHE or Family Home Evening before? Anyone can have one in their own home, but our’s started because of counsel given to us as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to set aside one night a week to be a family, to share in a lesson devoted to teaching children about respect, love, forgiveness, etc or just to bond and have fun as a family.
We were all really used to it, and plopped down without another thought.
But then my mom started to tell us that she and Dad had been teenagers once and that they knew that we would be facing even harder decisions and situations, but that they knew with all of their hearts that we could stand strong. That in fact, they believed we were well prepared to stand up for what’s right.
That’s when my mom pulled out a picture of a little girl standing at the top of a snowy hill with footprints leading up to her and snow swirling around her. Across the top was written, Stand, Alone if you Must, but Stand.
She hung the picture by our computer in our office as a reminder that even if you have to stand all alone, that you should and could do it. That no matter what the rest of the world thought or was doing that we could stand for truths we knew in our hearts.
This isn’t the Life I imagined I’d Raise Kids in
It’s now years later and I hold on to that motto, Stand, Alone if you Must, but Stand with all of my heart. I never thought life would be like this, a struggle to survive, fighting wars and rumors of wars, holding on to our kids as tight as we can all while trying to teach them to completely be self governing agents of good and righteous choices.
But here we are. And the motto, Stand, Alone if you Must, but Stand now hangs in our office just as it did for me growing up.
Stand, Alone if you Must, but Stand
In my teenage years I sometimes was the only one not cheating on a test. Often I was the one staying home instead of going to certain parties or events. And I bet you would think that I felt strength, support from my family (which I did) and peace from those choices, but the truth is, it made me feel alone.
So why did I do it?
Because I’d been taught by darn good parents that there were certain things that could be destructive, addictive and painful if I chose to participate. I could feel their love and the truth of their words as they taught me that even if you have to be the one standing alone, that it’s better to be alone and true than to crumble to peer pressure.
Courageous Parenting
Now I’m a parent, and I find myself again leaning upon those words. And it’s not just to teach them, though I do, it’s also because I’ve found that what the world needs right now is courageous parents. Ones who are willing to seek answers, be mindful of their children and the world around them and parent based on faith and courage and not fear and laziness.
Stand, Alone if You Must, but Stand Print
We asked Lana from Lana’s Shopto create an image for us that would represent standing, even if we have to do it alone and we came up with this image of a peony, standing amidst the dry, brittle weeds.
It hangs in our office, just like my mom’s picture. Maybe one day I’ll have Lana make me one with a child on a snowy hill and gift them all to my siblings as a reminder.
For now, Lana and I have decided to give each of you a chance to hang up your own. Head straight to this page in her shop, Lana’s Shop and order your own printable. I’m ordering a few right away to give to a few people.
“In these last days, what the world really needs is courageous parenting from mothers and fathers who are not afraid to speak up and take a stand.” Larry R Lawrence from the talk, Courageous Parenting
As we start another school year it’s time to gather our family together again, to talk about the things we stand for, even when we stand alone. Then Cade and I gather in the evening to discuss things we feel we need to be mindful and observant about this year as well as remind each other that our job isn’t to cave in, but to live in a way that we aren’t overly tired or bendable, but instead courageous enough to stand, even when our standing means that our kids aren’t happy with every choice.
Kids need boundaries. Parents need courage. And both need to stand when needed.
