Here’s a mood board for anyone interested in Graven, a full cast horror audio drama set in the post apocalypse with some religious creep sprinkled in. Here are the vibes:

After shoveling snow and walking around in my backyard near the woods at night, I feel like a snowy setting is really underutilized in analog horror. Other than like Winter of 83, I feel like we don't see a lot of snow. I don't know, there's something uniquely eerie to me about hearing the wind howling at the edge of the woods, the crunch of snow under your feet, how you can't see anything in front of you except silhouettes cast in the snow, the fact that in the morning you see the paw prints of critters long gone. It's all just perfect to me. Gimme a series about tracks in the snow of some otherworldly abomination or someone getting lost in the woods only to be buried alive by the snow!

The Seated Woman

This one, situated at the top of the park - not far from the historical site of the Crystal Palace - is to be avoided at all costs. In 2004, a schoolboy using the statue as a goalpost rested his hand on her shoulder while defending a corner. It took the boy's friends several minutes to prise his hand free, during which time the unfortunate victim had been locked in a 'terrified trance.

i think the most frustrating part about tbosas is the fact that you want to root for coryo. you want him to be a better man for lucy gray. you want him and sejanus to become closer, to become the best friends sejanus believes them to be. you want him to run away and find a way to relearn all the oppressive and tyrannical ideals the capitol instilled in him.

but that’s not what happens.

coriolanus isn’t necessarily a good person. he’s not a bad person either, not yet, but he’s no where near good. and rather than try to be good, he gives up, he lets himself “go bad”, he rats out sejanus, he lets his anger get the best of him and loses lucy gray.

the idea that coryo could be a good person but chooses not to be is exactly the reason this book and this character are brilliant.
