You know, I initially planned the Quidditch scene in my longfic partially because I thought it would be cool to see a match from a Beater's perspective (Sirius is a Beater in my longfic, mostly to humour James). Then when I finally got around to writing The Quidditch chapter, it became abundantly clear that - in the particular context that he's in - Sirius doesn't give a fuck about this match and, quite frankly, neither do I at this point.

Crystal's bed folds up into the wall. Demons from beneath her bed crawled out hell like monster stories of old to snatch Edwin away.

All this is reminding me how badly I wanted the Amy/Rory/Doctor OT3 to happen. I would’ve tolerated the interminable Amy/Doctor love triangle shit so much better had it ended with a lightbulb going off in Rory’s head after being in the tardis for a bit like ‘oh I get it now I’m immediately infatuated with him too’.

But then melody pond had to be river song and ruined that dynamic

"Everybody knows now what you look like. Monsieur Le Rock Star." He let his smile broaden. But the voice was polite and low as it had always been. And the face suffused with feeling. There had been not the slightest change there yet. Maybe there never would be. I slipped my arm around his shoulder and we walked together away from the lights of the house.
