So there’s this little story my dad told both me and sone of his friends about the passage of time.

He’s walking through the hospital, my then 5-y/o brother’s hand in his and me in my baby carrier in his other hand. He’s going to a doctor’s appointment for one of us. Pretty standard stuff. When suddenly he just. Stops. Just pauses in the hallway, looks at my brother, then at me. And he’s hit with a sudden wonder of

“When did this happen?!?!”

Not in a dismayed “Where did my youth go?” fashion, but in an “I was just attending college courses yesterday and woke up with two children under 6, when did I have the time?!?”
