Hey @omg-snakes you mentioned this baby was snake sinister (sninister) and I decided to draw their portrait to prove you wrong and then in the process I learned instead that they look like an 1890s robber baron.

And yet! Egg tooth! So fresh! So new! So baby! That little mustache and monocle! They’re gonna evade so many snake taxes, or snaxes!

Feel free to pass the art on to their new human friend when they go to their forever home :)

(My very first snake was an amel corn snake i got for my 8th birthday after insisting that nothing but a snake would do. I’d wanted a tricolor kingsnake or milk snake, but i got Candy Corn Corny Corn Snake (did I mention i was 8?) and he was flawless. So i have a soft spot for the species and morph.)

BO22Bx1 is out and I think I know why they're a week early while their two clutchmates are still dreaming.

Look at that egg tooth! It's practically an egg tusk!!

This little saber-egg-toothed angel has joined their sniblings from BO22 to help them get a jump on being a snek while they wait for their clutchmates to join the waking world.

The latest from IY22 is very fashionable. They rearranged their hatching cup to cover up their old eggshell and put on a shiny hat!

This itty beebee has such a dainty little snoot! They're quite calm and curious already, I can't wait to see how they grow over the next few weeks.

Every time I see hatching photos i have to say "baby" to myself. I was scrolling at work when i went to the washroom the other day and someone else was in another stall and I audibly said "baby" when a hatching pic came up. It haunts me if i said it loud enough for the other person to hear me or not.

If it helps you feel better, my former roommate had parrots and I work from home, and the birds liked to hang out with me in my home office. I would frequently accidentally start conference calls by saying, "Hiiyyiii!" in my most parrot-pleasing squeaky voice. My coworkers knew about the birds so they just thought it was funny.

Also I still have eggs in the incubator. I checked on them this morning and this one was deflated and looked gross, so I pulled out out to toss it and the critter inside shifted. I realized that there was a cut in the side and that's why the egg was deflated! I ripped it a little to confirm that the friend inside was simply resting after greeting the world. They're about a week early, so hopefully they're okay.

We'll be saying hiiiyyiii to this baby later this evening or sometime tomorrow!
