There is a lot of information out there about weaving, crocheting and knitting, but relatively little about spinning.

Which is a shame, since spinning is really where the "resource provided by the earth" tangibly becomes "object with a use."

Aspects of spinning, such as the amount of twist and the length of the fibers, are impactful upon the thread or yarn created, but lots of fiber crafters don't get to directly play with those variables...

It is so strange how textile production is so utterly dominated by very few fibers, when so many are possible. Industry keeps coming up with new ways to transform bamboo or something into fibers, which is all well and good, but we have yet to run out of easily usable natural fibers that have worked for thousands of years.

Dogbane—Apocyonum cannabinum—was called "Indian hemp" because it was used by Native Americans for ropes, cords and textiles. It's incredibly strong, soft, and easy to collect large amounts of it. But hardly anybody uses it.

Re: your post about downloading music to ur phone and listening offline - you have no idea how strongly i feel about this. I have never made the switch to spotify i carry my phone and its 1.4k songs with me wherever i go.

1. If you have an android phone you can get youtube revanced which allows you to use all the features of yt music (listening with screen turned off or while navigating to another app, no ads) without paying. Lmk if you want more info on that

2. You can absolutely download music from youtube and store it on ur phone somewhere (get an extra sim card if built in storage isn't enough), unfortunately spotify has become such a default that some phones don't come with decent mp3 player apps. My (xiaomi redmi) default one is pretty good once i found the "no ads no internet searching" button but if yours sucks you can look into external apps

3. As for how to get mp3s of songs: I'm sure there's still YouTube-to-mp3 websites and software and you can look for a good one, but personally I've switched to the more time intensive but ultimately more reliable method, which is playing whatever song i want on desktop and then hooking up my audio recording software (audacity) to an app that kind of acts like an internal microphone and speakers, so that i can record the sound directly. Again I'd be happy to give more info if that's something that sounds good to u. I love this method cuz it allows me to record from any source i please and edit stuff before saving

Oh and i should mention all of this can be done at no cost, I'm only using free apps and software

I used a combination of your 2nd and 3rd suggestions, avoiding the question of YouTube-to-MP3 converters by sticking to song files that I had already converted. It seems to be working well so far! ^_^

Saw your old JTTW content and I am currently hooked with this fanbase. So here's a lil gift I did for fun during vacant period in class.

Recently drew dynamic combat poses with Wukong trying to fight fair and square (but he still has higher ground) so he wouldnt get disqualified in some brawling tournament. So he's in human form, no weapons or magic.

Personal fave drawing, just love to think if Wukong really put the finesse in his combat skills to full potential .We barely get a chance to see him really do a fair hand to hand combat, usually just him abruptly throwing punches and kicks, and those poorly executed flying harness scenes. And always relying on his supernatural abilities and cudgel. Like I get he's so self assured and usually takes things easy for himself. But would really love to see his mastery in martial arts . I guess he'd only do it when he wants to really show off against those who he has bad blood with. If he's on a risky fight where he finds his match. The more things at stake, more thrill and hes definitely having fun . He'd want to pull off flashy moves to overwhelm his opponent.

Smear lines are a powerful thing for dynamic fighting poses. Been looking at One punch man manga fight scenes.

mini FAQ (I guess?) under cut:

I mostly use procreate and only the boring default brushes! mostly 6b pencil, narinder pencil, syrup and marker. for hashtag serious animation i use toonboom harmony

#illegally bound - co-creation with @frozenladybug, a modern au of the 2017 movie journey to the west 2: the demons strike back wherein wukong and xuanzang enter the world's stupidest fake marriage plot. Ongoing since 2021

#cats hs au - also co-created with @frozenladybug, a modern au of cats the musical focusing on tugger and mistoffeles. Finished although there's some extras i might still post one day

#aph hs au - disjointed highschool au thoughts about various ships and characters from hetalia that form a semi cohesive whole. I'll probably add to it whenever the hetalia demon returns to possess me

Day 10, The Great Chuck E Cheese Debate from RTVS with, Teen girl 1 Teen girl 2 Teen girl 3 and Teen girl 4 for @sneakystorms

drafts downstairs because i think directors commentary is Important.

I had to come up with some nicknames for these girls as I'm terrible at putting numbers to faces. Cigarette is a given I know a girl named Cigarette when I see one, Ballet and Rowdy came easy y'know, Obvious, but rolls off the tongue. 'Sleeper' is the only one I still think of as a bit too Blunt, the two lines she has she is either labeled as 'Sleeper' or, 'Sleepy' which if you ask me, Sleeper is just a bit cooler.

I always start off with head shots of whoever I'm drawing before really starting the piece, gotta get the Vibe down and I think these girls have been the most accurate to the vibe check. sometimes my issue with thumb nailing is that the emotion originally drawn is just Irreplaceable, struggled a lot with Rowdy because of that but I think it translated over well enough!

@sneakystorms I heard about DSB Twilight AU and I bring to you... Vampire! Wukong. Took inspo of his outfit to James' coven in the movie and Mortal Instruments. Just wanted to give that edgy 90s-2000s feel. And yes it cannot be complete without the blue filter

The whole point of it is to make him look fashionably ratty. Tbh I like giving him the fur jacket really makes a statement. And he wears the fangs and claws of the werewolves he hunted.

Wukong as Marceline and Sanzang as Bonnie, tbh I can really see parallels. But I just wanted to draw alt guy Wukong with a guitar lol. And Sanzang with a gun , took inspo from those memes.
