Sneaker culture is one of the most dynamic forces in the world. It courses through the zeitgeist via fashion, sports, music – and especially art. Creators operating in a wide range of mediums – from sculpture and graphic design to origami and food – have been inspired by footwear fandom.   

THE ART OF SNEAKERS (@theartofsneakers) is a celebration of those artists and the movement they are a part of. A unique collection of works from 20 very different creative minds, THE ART OF SNEAKERS shines a light on the next-level creativity springing from the Jordan Generation. One artist deconstructs the most sought-after, exclusive sneakers in the world and turns them into dizzyingly intricate masks. Another uses nothing more than pencil, paper, and an insane amount of patience to create stunning photorealistic drawings of her favorite shoes. Yet another takes shoeboxes and cuts them into hundreds of pieces, shaping them into something like life-size cardboard taxidermy.                        The Art of Sneakers is presented by snkrINC (@snkrinc) – a media brand representing global sneaker culture – and is meant to serve as an inspiration for all artists, current and future, to make something beautiful from their passions.

?: Annnnd the teacher’s lounge. You’re more than welcome to hang your stuff here. I actually suggest it, sometimes the students like to peek into people’s things.

Taryn: Ah, I see. Can I set my lunch in the fridge?

?: Sure! Oh and don’t bother bringing in lunch on Wednesdays or Fridays. The school usually caters for us on those days.

Taryn: That’s really nice!

?: Yep. I’ve worked at other schools and this one is probably the better of the handful.

Taryn: Amazing!

?: One catch.

Taryn: Oh.

?: Well a lot of the kids here are incredibly troubled. Can’t really do much about it but the higher ups try to do all of these little perks to help with morale.

Taryn: How bad is it?

?: I wouldn’t be surprised if you quit the first day. Honestly, I wouldn't hold it against you.

Taryn: Lovely.

Taryn: Where are you even getting that paper from? [ gasps ] The books!

Kid one: My mom says all librarians turn into a hag.

Taryn: That’s not very nice.

Kid two: You kinda look like one hunched over like that.

Taryn: Hey!

Kid three: AHHHH!

Taryn: WAIT-

Kid four: That’s what you get for calling me a cheese ball!

Kid three: You even smell like one- OUCH!

Taryn: Stop it!

Taryn: No!  

Kid four: Get back here you troll!

Look, I know this isn’t the sort of post that I usually do, but I really had the urge to point this out after I saw it.

Is anyone, ANYONE at all going to talk about Aziraphale’s funky little sneakers?

He’s wearing sneakers! With silly little shoelaces and everything! Now, is there any meaningful takeaway from this? Probably not. I just thought it was neat.

Yes. We’ve been together 8 years.

I was really struggling to finish college not because I was dumb but because I had a lot going on in my family at the time. My grandfather died and my family was literally crumbling before my eyes. All the lies, manipulation, gaslighting had finally caught up to my mom and grandma. Going to Ohio and coming back really broke me.

Donald pushed me to finish and I literally mean pushed. I called him one day after meeting with my advisor and told him I was done. I wasn’t doing college anymore.

He drove across town meet with my advisor with me, got that settled, paid my tuition on the spot. Education is very important to him which is why he pushing me to get my Masters.

Two weeks later we sat down and told me when I finished he could promise two things, he’ll pay my rent and money.

I’m always money motivated. So I finished. Took two more years but I did.

He always paid my rent. And he gave me 10k the week I graduated. He also put me in his will. If and when he pass I get a percentage of his liquid cash.

Has he kept his word? Idk I only saw the paperwork after it was done and his lawyer and a notary had signed it. It could have been changed for all I know. But for the most part I trust him and his word. He has never lied or try to play with me.

And I also think it’s important to know it’s liquid cash. That doesn’t count investments, home, cars, ect. Whatever money is currently sitting in accounts I get a part of that. If his kids choose to sell his houses I don’t get a part of that. I don’t get a part of his military pension either.

So me being the business minded woman I am, put the 10k up. I never touched it. half went into a high yield savings account and the other went into a CD account.

I can touch the savings if I want to. The CD can’t be touched without penalty. But I don’t have a need to touch either. Donald pays rent and gives me money all the time. Ted pays “rent” he doesn’t but he think he does but I use that for utilities and groceries.

I also have a very good job on my own. 75% of my paycheck doesn’t touch my account it goes straight to my retirement which is matched by my company.
