The Bangtan Gal Chapter 94- MAMA Awards 2016 Part 1

Summary: BTS win their first Daesang! Tensions run high when Jen's friendship with Hyuna ends abruptly due to sneak dissing and a scrapped performance. BTS attends the Mama Awards making iconic moments that leave the world shooked.

Author's note: OK the 3rd Muster chapter isn't done yet, I'll post that next since this was done. The 3rd Muster chapter is basically a filler chapter anyway. So once I come back from taking a smol break I will start writing that and then the following story chapter. This was done and I didn't want to keep it waiting. Kind of been anxious to release it.

As I addressed during the Bon Voyage season 1 chapter, this should be the last time I write about Hyuna. This idea came up recently and I rolled with it. My ideas changed a bit but I wanted this to just be chaotic af. I wanted to think outside the box and I like what I came up with. Again this smol girl ain't that much of a lyric writer but A for effort. Decided to combine the chapters and make it into the Mama Awards chapter.

I would like Jennie to always have a cool stage for the MAMA Awards. And have fun moments. It's only 2016 in the story and Jennie still has a lot of growing to do but I think this moment I have planned for this chapter is an interesting start to how she speaks up for herself. We got 2017, 18, 19, and the rest of the years for even more character development, wins and failures along the way for her.

Hope you enjoy it! I'd say Beyonce's 7/11 is the inspiration for her stage at MAMA. I love the song so much and the instrumental. Especially the Coachella version. Always a banger. I also loveeee Beyonce's laugh at the end of the Coachella version. So I had to add it for Jennie. It might just be her signature.

Whenever there are scenes with BlackPink and BTS' Jennie (My character), I'm going to keep BlackPink's Jennie as Jennie during the dialogue while BTS' Jennie will just be called Jen. Hope that won't be too confusing.

Throwback to this funny video when they won at MMA 2016. I remember this video like it was yesterday. Timeless. As I continue to write, I get a little emotional. It was so fun seeing all this in real time.

Again this chapter is split into two parts because I couldn't fit all of it in one post. So this is part one.

'BREAKING! MAMA 2016 Collaboration with Cube's Hyuna and Big Hit's Jennie scrapped!'

Jennie frowned at the article as she sat by her desk in the Smartie Factory. It was crazy how things abruptly changed. Lately, Jennie and Hyuna weren't on speaking terms and issues have been occurring for a while.

It all started with the sneak dissing that Jennie had found out on her Tumblr. She loved scrolling through the tag of her name and came across a fairly popular post regarding Hyuna attending a few variety shows and interviews.

"Unlike the others, I don't need to repeatedly say I'm the best from head to toe. You already see it," made ARMY think about Jennie's War of Hormone lyrics.

"Some rookies can be a bit much. Some like to try to overshine a veteran,"

"Some girls in this industry are a bit too fragile. I don't need to call myself bulletproof,"

"You mean the original version of How's This,"

These were just a handful of statements said by Hyuna and ARMY immediately speculated she was throwing shade at Jennie.

'Uhhhh did Hyuna just sneak diss, Jennie? Am I freaking out over nothing? That bulletproof and glass line was SUS,' one comment said.

ARMY went on to do more research and they immediately figured out that there was some sort of animosity in Hyuna's words and it caused confusion in the fandom.

"The hell...?" Miss Bangtan murmured as she read about it and even saw her and Hyuna trending on Twitter.

Her stomach dropped and she felt hurt by the words. It confused her as to why she would say these things. Deciding to go straight to the source, she messaged Hyuna on KakaoTalk.

Jen: Ummmm what's going on sis? We got a problem or something? If so let's address it now. Call me when you're free

But hours later, still no reply. What officially solidified the fact that there was an issue was when Jennie facetimed Hayoon about it.

"I'm trying to contact her so we can settle this shit now instead of over the internet. But I haven't gotten a response. I don't know how this happened. I didn't even do anything. I know we haven't talked in a while, but damn,"

And that was when Hayoon informed her what was going on from what she heard. She and other people have been overhearing her talking about how upset she was that she would be sharing the stage with Jennie for How's This. She wanted to perform it alone and on top of that felt bothered by the fact that the duet music video with Jennie started to get way more views than the original video.

"I mean it got more views because ARMY loves to support every member of Bangtan. They were bound to have the views boost," Jennie exclaimed on Facetime while Hayoon nodded. "That's one of the amazing things about them. They watched that video for me and I'm grateful but damn, is it that deep? So, she doesn't want to share the stage with me and is feeling some type of the way that her original music video didn't have that many views? Ma'am, if that was a problem, instead of throwing shots, why not talk to me face to face and express yourself? All this childishness for what?"

"I know. It's ridiculous," Hayoon said with a frown. "I had to distance myself from her. I didn't like the things she was saying. And I even talked to her about it but she blew me off and said she didn't care,"

Jennie sighed and shook her head. "Annoying...thanks for telling me...wow...the switch up is crazy...I just don't understand,"

"Of course. Still no reply?"

Jennie went to check back on the app and scoffed. "Did this bitch block me?!"

"What?! No way!"

"Wowwww. So, it's like that? Okay. I can't even contact her anymore...this is making me start to have trust issues a little bit. Like we were so close. We would hang out and talk often...I trusted her with a lot of shit, too. I hope she doesn't spill anything personal. Because now I'm thinking about my relationship,"

"As much as I dislike her attitude, I don't think she'll spill anything especially when she is dating E'Dawn privately,"

"Yeah...I'm not going to air her dirty laundry and talk about how she got a rookie boyfriend and shit. That's unfair to E'dawn and his future career as an idol,"

"Agreed. No need to get him involved. I believe she won't involve Jungkook as well, so no need to worry,"

Jennie sighed. "When I see her at one of these award shows I'll confront her. This is ridiculous,"

"Some kind of girl's girl she is. So close to award season, too? She should not be trying to paint you as this bad person,"

"Yeah...I just don't know how long it's going to take for the public to understand how grimy she is,"

As the news of her performance with Hyuna wasn't happening anymore, Cube Entertainment and even Mnet made the excuse that they felt like Jennie was not ready to perform with Hyuna and was a bit difficult to work with. Which was a load of bull and lots of fans saw through the BS. However, Big Hit responded in defense of her saying that she was ready, was very easy to work with and it was their loss on the collaboration.

It warmed her heart to see the company come to her defense and say she would prove doubters wrong on BTS' stage at the MAMA Awards. Hearing the news that the collaboration was scrapped made her feel down since she had been so excited to perform with someone she looked up to for many years. G-Dragon's words still rang through her mind that not everyone is your friend in the industry and the switch ups are crazy.

Now back to reality, Jennie continued to sit by her desk, deep in thought about the situation. All she wanted to do was speak to her like an adult and squash whatever issue she had with her. But with her being blocked, it was clear she wanted nothing to do with Jennie.

It had been days since the first set of disses along with lyric changes to throw shots at her and the lack of response from Jennie had everyone talking.

People commented:

'Unbothered. I like that,'

'Hyuna cooked you!'

'Everything she said about Jennie was true,'

'Rookie! Hyuna is better than you!'

'So, are you going to respond to HyunA?'

'Damn, still no response?'

'Jennie is known for her impressive stage presence at MAMA. They could have been a powerful duo if egos didn't get in the way. Something ain't right,'

'LOL Hyuna won by default. She is taking forever to respond. Is she scared?'

'Get in the booth, Jennie. Or are you taking the L?'

'So, you just gonna let her talk shit about you like that?'

'Jennie doesn't have to respond to anything.'

'I hate how you guys are instigating this drama.'

'No response is a response, Jennie!'

'Does Miss Bangtan need her bulletproof boy scouts to help her with this one?'

'I bet Jennie is the problem. Because she and Hyuna were great friends. She must have done something wrong...'

'Time to stop hiding behind your boys, woman up and respond to your senior.'

'Respect queen Hyuna!'

'You should be lucky she even asked you to collaborate.'

'ARMY gets on my nerves. They like to spam and stream everything for bragging rights. That music video didn't deserve to get higher views than the OG!'

'Yikes...going after one of the chillest people in the K-Pop industry is not wise because if Jennie responds I bet not hear shit that she was disrespectful when Hyuna started this first. And don't try to say respect your seniors.'

'Y'all are a little too comfortable being rude to Jennie on her page...'

'Hyuna started it and Jen will finish it. Watch!'

'Hyuna is being a bit too bold running her mouth.'

'Of all people when you have Bangtan backing her? And other idols who are close friends with her? I don't understand the logic.'

'Hyuna is untouchable in the industry, no idols will come to her aid,'

'I doubt any idol will defend Jennie from Hyuna. She should handle this herself.'

'Bangtan shouldn't always have to fight her battles. She should handle this by herself,'

'Jennie handles business. She'll respond,'

Still, on social media, she saw herself getting tagged in a lot of Hyuna stuff. Come to find out she was still sneak dissing and her stans were eating it up and defending her. However, ARMY was not too happy about the abrupt attitude change and shade thrown at Miss Bangtan.

"Do you want me to say something?" Yoongi asked, who sat next to her, ready to defend her honor.

"Yoongi...no," she firmly said as she turned to him.

"The situation is so grimy. Like damn, the bitch can't share the stage with you on her song that she wanted you to be on in the first place? Why bother asking to collab?" Angelina spoke up, sitting on the couch with Namjoon. "Did she think it wasn't going to go well? She underestimated the power of ARMY's support and your talent as an artist. Those comments on that YouTube video were mainly about you, Jennie. You outshined her in the music video and she was mad about it and has been holding it in for a while. The bitch is jealous,"

"I'm just confused and thrown off by everything. Like I thought we were friends—"

"Well, she's not your friend," Angelina firmly cut Jennie off, getting upset about Hyuna. "A friend doesn't sneak diss. Fuck her,"

"Are you going to let her just bash your name like this in public?" Namjoon asked.

"She is South Korea's IT girl. Everyone loves her. And if I respond...I have a feeling I'll be public enemy number one. You know how the media is gonna twist this and make me the bad guy," Jennie reminded.

"Jen, I love your calmness. You know I'll be ready to fight somebody if someone did that to me. Diss tracks would already be on standby to release," Angelina added. "I wish I had your calmness, right now, as we speak. But stop being nice,"

"I'm not trying to be! I'm not! I'm not being nice, I'm trying to wrap my head around being blindsided! I'm getting annoyed, now..." she sighed out of frustration.

"Good. Write about it,"

"Listen, I shouldn't cause Bangtan any drama. Award season is coming up...I can't be taking the attention off of us at the award shows. I don't even want to be involved in this drama...why can't I just have some genuine celebrity friends, that won't get mad over petty shit, like this? I'm getting PTSD from Hailey and that took a while to heal from,"

"Munchkin, you're not causing drama for us," Hobi spoke up with his arms crossed as he leaned against the wall, next to the couch. "I know you're thinking of the negatives but the positives outweigh it. You should respond,"

"And you know that people love you, too. She is not the only beloved K-Pop idol, in the world," Yoongi affirmed. "You've been making a positive name for yourself with us as BTS. ARMY and us will not stand for the slander. I want you to write about it all,"

"Turn this negative into a positive," Namjoon reminded.

"Diss track incoming?" Angelina smiled.

Jennie let the rappers' words sink in as she glanced at all of them. They had a point. She couldn't just let her bash her name like this out of nowhere. On top of that, she didn't want to hear anything about being respectful to her seniors when she was getting disrespected unprovoked. It bothered her when people think they can talk to younger people in any type of way. Respect should be a mutual thing.

"For now, don't bother engaging in the drama on social media. Don't respond to any of it online. Continue to go about your day like normal," Namjoon suggested.

"Yeah...okay. You're right. All of you," Jen replied. "I can't let her just get away with talking shit and not saying it directly to my face. Especially when she didn't even want to respond to my messages and blocked me. She needs to get checked,"

"Good. I'm looking forward to this," Hobi smiled.

"You and I both," Yoongi revealed his gummy smile.

Jennie chuckled and turned to Namjoon. "This reminds me a little bit of the Bobby situation and your diss at MAMA 2014. But yours was more of entertainment. Unlike this,"

The leader chuckled at that and nodded. "Yeah. Well, what are you going to do, now?"

"Handle it," she firmly responded and grabbed her notebook.

"Best news I've heard all day. Get writing," Angelina broke out into a big smile, as the others agreed.

"Mama Awards 2016. Speak your truth, there. Let's talk to the staff later about everything," Namjoon recommended.

"Okay," Jennie nodded, liking that idea. "I'll show you what I have when I'm done. Can I be alone, please? To work?"

The boys respected her decision and left her to work while Angelina stayed behind with Namjoon waiting for her outside the studio.

"Word of advice? Try the 8 Mile method. The stealing thunder strategy. You remember the movie and the final rap battle with Eminem?" Angelina asked as she got off the couch.

"Yeah. I've watched it a few times. That's not a bad idea. I'll work on it,"

"Good. Happy writing. Just make sure you eat, okay? Don't be stuck here, all day. I'll be with the others,"

"Don't worry, I'll take breaks. See you,"

After Angelina left, Jennie got started with writing. She also began going through her vault of music files she created over the years to pick which one to perform her rap with.

Rapping…kind of scary to think that this is what it would come to. Yoongi had been an amazing mentor. If Hobi could learn how to rap when he had no background in it, she could too. The amount of faith the rap line had in her to encourage her to respond to Hyuna in this way was a big deal. It was a deal that she could not mess up.

As she proceeded to work, her dog Tony slept quietly on the dog bed in the corner, tired out from playing around with the members a few hours earlier. Jennie occasionally glanced at the adorable dog with a smile while she worked. Miss Bangtan worked for hours, doing research, writing, and analyzing Hyuna's recent interviews regarding her. So engrossed in her work, she jumped slightly when she heard a series of knocks at her door.

"Who?" she asked out loud.

"Your Golden Boyfriend. Jeon Cena!"

"Enter my realm, my love," she smiled and turned her seat around to see him walking in with a few bags of food. "Hey!"

"Hi. I figured you were hungry so I bought food for us," he set the bags on the desk and grabbed a seat to sit next to her.

"It smells so good, thanks," she kissed him sweetly.

Getting a good look at her, he noticed she was wearing one of his hoodies which made him smile. The way it was oversized on her made her look even more cute.

"Any time. And your package of Smarties came. I grabbed a few bags so I can fill up your bowl,"

"You are the best!" she squealed happily and kissed him again before planting multiple kisses all over his cheek, making him giggle.

After he filled up the bowl, he gently grabbed her hand to stop her from reaching out to grab a few pieces.

"Ah-ah! What are you doing?" he called out.

"Helping myself to my smarties?"

"Nah. Food first. Let's eat,"

"What? Oh, come on. Babe, don't do that,"

"Food first. Smarties after," he released her hand.

"They're small, they're not going to spoil my stomach,"

"Food, honey," he grinned, opening the platter of chicken for them to eat. "Take a break,"

"Fine. I should take a break, anyway," she stretched and closed her notebook, placing it to the side. "Game of Thrones?"

"Yeah, we stopped at Season 5, right?"

"Hm hm. The first episode," she set everything up on one of her monitors.

"Hyung told us what you're working on. I'm glad you're going to go through with it. It's not fair,"

She smiled softly and nodded. "Yeah…I just wished she talked to me,"

"She'll realize the mistake she made when you respond. I'm looking forward to seeing what you say. You always have a way of showing off your craft during the MAMA Awards. ARMY will be in for a treat,"

"Thanks. I hope to do it justice. I've been thinking about a lot…especially with the new year coming up. I think my New Year's Resolution for 2017 is to…be more cautious of who I trust and who I open up to. To see my childhood friends again when we go on tour and write songs in a more positive light. I think that'll be a pretty good start,"

He leaned over to kiss the side of her head. "I like that. That is a good start,"

The day of the Melon Music Awards was finally here and backstage was lively as everyone went through rehearsals. Jen was excited to see familiar faces again as she strolled backstage. She let out a deep breath when she finally saw Hyuna who had finished talking with a staff member. Jen had been seeing her all day but whenever she'd get close, Hyuna would rush off.

Not anymore.

As Jen approached her, she knew people were watching her every move, wondering what might happen. Keeping her head up high, she finally came face to face with her.

"You got something to say to me?" Jen questioned as she looked at her with a frown.

Hyuna looked a little surprised and took a step back.

"Nothing at all," she replied with a fake smile.

"Are we going to talk like adults or are you gonna run, again? Where's that energy when you were taking shots at me on that variety show?" she asked and tilted her head to the side when she didn't reply. "If you don't want to be friends anymore, that's cool. I don't care. But I don't appreciate you going out of your way to talk shit about me and lying on my name. Blocking me so we can't speak on the phone? That is mad corny,"

"Jennie, you're causing a scene," she brought up as noticeably more people were being nosy and watching the confrontation.

"I do not care, stop trying to change the subject. What is with you throwing shade like ARMY and I wouldn't notice? Even talking about how difficult I am to work with? The fuck? Do we have a problem?"

"Do we?"

It took all the strength Jen had to not pop her in the head right then and there with the way she sarcastically responded. Hyuna was playing games and it was getting harder for Jen not to put her hands on her. MAMA Awards couldn't come fast enough.

"Keep my name out of your mouth. I'm not telling you again. Are we clear?" Jen demanded with a glare.

"Crystal."

After walking away and calming down, Jen informed the members about the nonsense. It annoyed them with the way Hyuna responded and highly anticipated Jen's performance at the MAMA Awards to set her straight. It was going to be worth the wait.

As the show was about to start, Jen went to the women's bathroom and as she came out to wash her hands, she saw BlackPink primping in the mirror and talking amongst themselves about how excited they were for the show.

Jennie gasped in happiness and turned around with a bright smile. "Hi! Oh my gosh, we've been looking for you!"

The sudden burst of excitement surprised Jen as she stood by the four girls who were happily smiling after she dried her hands. Once it officially registered that she was in front of BlackPink, Jen grinned widely.

"Hey! You're BlackPink! Wow! Hi! Oh my gosh, wow, y'all look so beautiful!"

"So do you!" Jisoo beamed as they all bowed.

"Hi, I'm Jennie. Jennie Walker," Jen introduced herself.

"Nice name. Hi, I'm Jennie. Jennie Kim," Jennie giggled with her and held her hands.

"Thank you. Nice name!"

"Thanks! It's nice to catch you before the show. It's really nice to meet you,"

"It's nice to meet you, girls, too!"

"Hi~! I'm Rosé!"

"I'm Lisa!"

"And I'm Jisoo!"

After releasing Jennie's hands, Jen spoke, "You girls are amazing! It's great watching you ladies thrive. I love your songs and I can't wait to see you perform, tonight,"

"Thank you! We've seen your dance videos of our songs. You perform it so well. Maybe you should be the fifth member," Jisoo giggled.

"I'd love to but Bangtan would be upset," she teased, as the girls laughed.

They were all so sweet. Their friendly energy matched so well with Jen's as they all vibed and immersed themselves in bathroom girl talk. As Jen had her eyes on Jisoo, she pointed out that her beauty was on a whole new level. Photos and videos didn't do her justice.

"Can we hug? Are you ladies ok with that? I'm like such a hugger these days but I like to ask before touching," Jen asked kindly.

"Of course!" Lisa beamed and went right in to embrace her with the rest of the girls.

"Are you ladies excited for tonight?" Jen asked.

"Nervous! But very excited. It should be a fun show. The dress rehearsal went well," Rosé replied.

"You ladies are gonna kill it. Have fun with it! Go out there and show them that BlackPink ain't playing around,"

Jen's encouragement seemed to have pumped them up as they smiled brightly and thanked her.

"You're close with Bam Bam, right? He's one of my good friends," Lisa spoke up.

"Yeah! I love him! He's the best and one of the funniest guys ever. He's a piece of work, huh?" Jen chuckled.

"He is! I hope we can all hang out sometime,"

"Yeah, I'd love that. We have a 97 Liner group chat we can add you and Rosé in! We're trying to see when we can have another get together. Even if it's just a handful of us. I have the WINGS tour coming up so it'll probably be a long while until Jungkook and I can participate in any hangouts. But we'll be there in spirit if the group plans something in our absence,"

"Being in the group chat sounds like fun. It'll be nice to get to know the others who were born in the same year. You'll introduce us?" Rosé asked.

"Yeah! I got you! You have to meet Hayoon. She is one of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet. So down to earth. She can be a little shy but give her some time and she'll open up to you. When you see her show off her real personality she gets very intense when playing games. Especially card games,"

Lisa and Rosé giggled at that.

"G-Dragon speaks highly of you. I always see him at YG and when we catch up he always brings you up," Jennie added.

"He talks about me to you?" Jen's eyes lit up.

Jen remembered that Jennie worked with G-Dragon before, being in one of his music videos. And Rosé even worked with him, on a song. It made her heart soar that he spoke highly of her. She hoped that one day she could collaborate with him as well. They brought it up a few times but she wanted to continue to improve her craft as an artist before working with him on music. She wanted to be at her best to sing with someone as legendary as him.

"Yeah! He told us he took you under his wing. I remember him saying how determined you looked when you approached him at K-Con. He admired your drive to take action. The way you did not hesitate to ask for advice on how to be a better performer. He also told us you are someone he trusts and that you are authentic," Rosé added.

"Wow...I am honored, my gosh," Jen let out a breath and placed her hands over her heart.

"Can I just say I love the move that you do with Jungkook during Blood, Sweat and Tears!? That flip and spin? It's so good!" Lisa said excitedly. "I want to try to do it during a dance practice but your chemistry with him is something that cannot be duplicated. I've studied dance covers of your little duet and it's clear that the move was meant for you two. I admire your passion when dancing,"

"Aw really? Thank you! I admire your passion for dancing, too! You be killing it on stage! You move with such grace and power, I get blown away every time, girl. I need to learn a thing or two from you,"

"We should practice together, sometime!"

"I'd be down!"

Their conversation was cut short when they heard an announcement that the show was about to begin.

"Before we go to our seats, can we take a selfie?" Jisoo suggested.

"Yeah! Let's do it!" Jen cheered.

Jisoo took out her phone and held the camera up high while the girls crowded around Jen. With all of their face cards on point, the selfie turned out beautifully as they posed with peace signs, kissy faces, and bright smiles.

"Oh, we cute, cute! Send this to me!" Miss Bangtan requested.

After exchanging numbers with the girls, the five of them went to their seats with fansites filming and noticing them together. Seeing the sight made ArmyBlinks excited that they finally met and hoped they take pictures.

As the show began, Jennie sat with Bangtan as the camera occasionally caught her exciting reactions which would make Armies cheer. Jennie happily cheered and lip synced Blackpink's lyrics with fans noticing how Rosé biased she was.

When it was time for Bangtan to perform BST, audience members and idols anticipated JenKook's signature move but they didn't perform it this time and did different choreography. The disappointment was evident on some idols' faces as they whispered amongst themselves about them not doing their move as well as fans.

"No~! I wanted to see the spin," Lisa whined. "Why didn't they do the spin?"

"I know! I wonder why they decided to change the choreography," Jisoo pouted.

"Damn, no spin?" Zico wondered.

"Darn, they didn't do it? What changed?" Kai wondered with EXO.

Fans tweet:

'Are you fucking serious!? Jennie and Jungkook wtf!? I am PISSED!'

'JenKook y'all had ONE JOB!! ONE!! We wanted the spin!'

'I know these damn babies did not skip their highly anticipated dance move of BST,'

'I stayed up all night only for them not to do the spin!? Big Hit, I'm about to sue! Count your MF days!'

'Who scrapped the spin!? I wanna fight! #BringBackTheSpin'

'LISTEN!! If it ain't broke don't fix it! Nothing and I mean NOTHING needed to be changed in JenKook's duet. Keep it like it is! It was perfect! #BringBackTheSpin'

Backstage after their performance, Jungkook laughed at the flooded tweets from Armies and other fans. They all were complaining about them not doing the dance move and it surprised him to see how much viewers enjoyed the unique move. The couple wanted to do something a little different for the Melon Music Awards but clearly, their decision did not sit well with everyone which amused them.

Jungkook tweeted for damage control, 'Ah...we didn't do the spin this time. Sorry ARMY. We will do it next time,'

Immediately fans replied:

'Y'all better! That move is generational!'

'What were y'all thinking switching it up!? We better get nothing but sexiness the next time y'all do it! I am so serious!'

'Bullying works guys!!'

'Y'all know better!'

'OH ARD! That's what I thought. You two better raise the bar next time!'

'GOOD! It better be sexy af the next time you two perform it! I need my JenKook crumbs!'

As the show was drawing to a close, she sat in between Yoongi and Taehyung while they watched the presenters call the nominees for album of the year. In Jennie's mind, she assumed EXO was going to win it. EXO had been powerhouses for their albums and the big 3, JYP, SM, and YG always swept these big awards. However, it was an honor to even be nominated in the category for The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever album.

She sat, relaxed, already ready to applaud EXO for winning the award as she waited for the presenter to say it.

"2016 Melon Music Award Best Album of the Year goes to...BTS!"

The sound of the group's name caused Bangtan to widen their eyes, looking at each other in utter disbelief.

Did they REALLY just call BTS the album of the year winners!? WHAT!?

Idols around them stood up, equally surprised that a group not from the big 3 won the award as they applauded them. GFriend cheered happily, bouncing up and down as Hayoon yelled cheerfully for Jennie. Namjoon immediately stood up, stunned by the announcement.

"Oh s—" Hobi shouted in shock.

Jennie sat in her seat dumbfounded as she looked around, glancing at the members who equally had the same shocked expression.

"What the f—" she stopped herself as she covered her mouth, trying to process the news that Bangtan had just won their first Daesang.

Daesang...they won a Daesang!

"We won? We won!?" she slowly stood up once the rest of the boys did.

Armies around the venue cheered and screamed as they waved their ARMY bombs in celebration.

"Ahhhh Jennie looks so surprised!" Hayoon giggled to her group before quickly rushing over to embrace her.

It started to become a tradition for these two to find each other to hug, high five, or do something whenever they won an award. Hayoon grabbed her hands and jumped up and down excitedly with her.

"BTS did it! BTS won! I'm so happy for you!" she beamed, pulling her in for another tight hug.

"Holy shit, what the hell is happening!? Is this real!?" Jennie exclaimed, hugging her tightly.

"Yes! Go up there!" she laughed and lightly pushed her forward after pulling away.

Jennie adjusted herself and began walking up to the stage with the rest of the group as they bowed to everyone. She walked with Hobi and Suga as a bright smile came across her beautiful face, feeling her heart pound. As they made it to the stage with Namjoon holding the award, she stood in between Jin and Hobi.

"ARMY! Thank you!" Namjoon shouted on the mic with a big smile as he tried to control his overwhelming emotions.

Seeing Jin start to cry made Jennie begin to rub his back to comfort him. She did her best not to cry herself as she soaked in this moment with the boys. Noticing Hobi looking like he was about to cry, she went to rub his back too, comforting him.

"We have received the best award since our debut here at the Melon Awards. Bang Sihyuk PD-nim, Big Hit Entertainment, parents and friends who have helped us, I want to thank them again and ARMYs, I love you! ARMY, I LOVE YOU!" Namjoon shouted with elation.

After he finished his speech, the members all went in for a big group hug. They all had big smiles on their faces, feeling euphoric from this victory. When they make it backstage, they are still stunned and thrilled that they won the award with a Bangtan Bomb camera filming them.

"Wow really...wow," Namjoon spoke, still processing everything.

"I was so surprised," Jungkook said on camera.

"We weren't anticipating it. We really weren't expecting it. We weren't even expecting it one bit,"

"Thank you so so much. We were so shocked,"

"We won! We won~! I still can't believe it!" Jennie squealed and shook the camera. "Thank you so much!"

Noticing Hobi's tears running down his cheeks with the foundation running down too, Jennie embraced him tightly while the camera filmed them.

"I know...I know..." she murmured. "I'm so proud of us,"

"Army, thank you so much!" Jin said on camera with his tear stained face while Jennie released Hobi. "Thank you, Army! Thank you, Army!"

"Bring it in," she outstretched her arms for Jin and he immediately kissed the top of her head and hugged her tightly.

"She gives the best hugs," he told the camera.

After they returned to their seats, Jennie sat in between Hobi and Jin to continue to watch the show while pulling themselves together. As EXO closed the show, she watched their performance in admiration.

"I wonder what it would be like to close an award show," Jennie wondered out loud with a smile.

Jin listened and began to speak as she looked up at him. "I believe that one day we will get the opportunity. If we can get this Daesang then this is just a step forward in achieving more as a group,"

"Yeah. We will, for sure,"

After the show, they took photos with the trophy and hugged the staff members as they continued to celebrate. Once Angelina found Jennie, she ran and jumped on her, making them both fall to the floor as they laughed.

"Ah~! I am so proud of you! BTS did it! BTS won album of the year!" she began giving Jennie multiple kisses all over her face as she continued to laugh.

After they got up, they embraced tightly, getting emotional.

"Wow, look at you! Thriving in BTS! That album deserved album of the year! It has bangers on top of bangers. This is your motherfuckin' moment, sis! Enjoy it!"

"Thank you! And thank you for being here to support us," Jen murmured against her shoulder.

"You know I'm always going to be there for you just like you are with me. You're stuck with me for life, sis. This win is only the beginning. Watch Bangtan soar to new heights after this! You better enjoy the damn ride, it's gonna be a fun one!"

After pulling away, Angelina wiped Jennie's tears.

"I'm not gonna lie, I thought EXO was gonna win it. When they said BTS I was like what!?" Jen continued to ramble as the camera person for the Bangtan bomb began to film the other members to get their thoughts.

Later on, Jennie sat down on a chair and took in some deep breaths to pull herself together while Jin and Jimin rubbed her back.

"I'm okay...I'm alright...wow...this feels like a dream. This feels like a freaking dream," she sighed.

She shook her head and started praying, thanking the Lord for this moment as emotions came over her again. Tears ran down her cheeks as she whispered to herself, "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!"

After she was done praying, she looked up and smiled at the guys when they all went to comfort her. "We did it. We really did it. This is amazing. Wow...over the big frickin' 3!? Blessed! I am so proud of us! Thank you. All of you for making this experience so fun and rewarding,"

"Your family is on the line!" Angelina beamed and handed Jen her phone to reveal her parents and sisters on facetime.

It was wholesome hearing them scream and cheer for Bangtan. The boys even jumped in to say hello and thanked them for their support.

"Ok now that we got the celebrations out of the way, why in the hell didn't you and Jungkook do the spin!?" Jennie's mom complained causing Bangtan and Angelina to laugh.

"Yeah! We were looking forward to it!" Alani frowned.

"You guys need a redo! ASAP!" Vienna added.

"I admit I was looking forward to seeing it and felt my world crashing down when it didn't happen," Jennie's dad spoke up.

"You are so dramatic!" Jennie laughed. "Not you all mad we didn't do this spin, tonight,"

"We'll do it next time," Jungkook grinned. "We promise!"

"You two better. I'll be watching," Jennie's dad pointed at them.

Days later, Namjoon was in his studio doing a V-Live to catch up with ARMY. As the live went on with fun and engaging moments, he then started to talk about Jennie. A proud smile appeared on his face as he thought of her.

"Jennie is the best. She has been improving a lot behind the scenes and continues to keep a good head on her shoulders. When I first saw her, I was watching the audition for the Bangtan Girl for BTS. She stood out to me because of her outfit choice." He chuckled. "She looked like she was going to wreck someone. I had my head down, so I would listen closely to each person's lyrics created for bulletproof, while V was next to me. As soon as I heard her verse, I had to look up. I know she was probably a bit stressed getting hit with a bombshell of creating a verse for the song over a weekend and presenting it on a Monday but she made it work and she impressed me. When I met her, I thought she was very determined and cute. She's like a little sister to me. And I feel like a proud big brother watching her improve every day in her skills. Ah...I'm getting too personal, am I? Sorry,"

His eyes scanned the comments flowing in.

I may not understand what it's like to move and work in another country like she did but she has really opened up and become more comfortable here. She's fully adjusting to South Korea. As he continued his live, someone knocked on his door and he turned around. Announcing the person to come in, Jennie strolled in with a bright smile and a plate of cookies.

"Hey! Here, I just made them. I'm going around delivering cookies before working in my studio,"

"For me!? Really!? Oh, this is a great surprise. I'll help myself to these now," he thanked her and took the plate to place on his desk. "You need to open up a bakery,"

"I want to! I wouldn't mind going to culinary school or something. I'd love to make my own business and open up a bakery, one day. We'll see what the future holds. Oh, you on live? Hey, ARMY! I miss you, guys! How are ya?" She waved and read the comments.

Namjoon started to laugh at the comments too, amused that this has become such a big deal in the fandom. When he heard even idols were asking about the spin, it was clear that JenKook had a chokehold in the industry with their strong chemistry.

"ARMY has been a little upset about that," he brought up.

"A little? They spamming my Instagram, too. I didn't think it was going to cause this much of a fuss. You guys really like our signature move?"

The day of the MAMA Awards was finally here. The day Jennie anticipated the most. She had a good feeling about this show and was excited to show off her hard work with what she had planned. The morning of the show, she decided to tweet one simple word along with an eyebrow raising hashtag.

Jennie had been a trending topic on Naver and various K-Pop news outlets, which caused people to anticipate the MAMA Awards even more to see what might happen and if she may respond to Hyuna. Her silence on the matter had been a hot topic and now with her tweet going viral, fans stirred in a frenzy.

Already in her short ruffled white dress, her hair was put up in a bun with hair on the side as she sat to get her makeup done. She also wore a small daisy pin for good luck thanks to G-Dragon gifting it to her on her birthday.

"Jen, what can viewers anticipate from you, tonight?" J-Hope asked with a grin as he was getting filmed for their MAMA 2016 Bangtan Bomb.

Glancing up, she smiled. "Expect the unexpected,"

As the members got out of the car for the Red Carpet, they were met with loud screams, photography, and cheers with the MCs announcing their arrival. Jimin held out his hand for Jennie to take and he aided her out of the car.

"Thanks, Chim," she smiled warmly.

It was awesome to see international fans travel to the MAMA Awards. She tried to wave and make eye contact with every fan she could. Peeping some of her fansites made her heart soar. The dedication they had for her did not go unnoticed. Miss Bangtan heard her name get shouted, making her turn to who it was as the fan giggled excitedly and waved. She waved back and grinned as the fan was happy to have caught the moment on their phone.

The group proceeded to walk and made it to where the MCs were, standing on the stage.

"It's BTS, who are taking the world by storm, that is entering, right now. They're a group with perfect performances and won an award for producing their own albums,"

No matter what, Jennie didn't think she'd get used to all the screaming and cheering. It was like each event they attended, the screams got louder and she came to realize Bangtan was really moving up. It was a beautiful thing.

As Jungkook walked closely behind her, he caught a whiff of her perfume. He closed his eyes for a brief moment, smiling softly, enjoying the scent.

"You smell nice," he murmured, opening his eyes.

She glanced back at him and smiled. "Thank you. Hayoon got me some new perfume for my birthday. I like it,"

"I like it, too. You should keep wearing it,"

"I will,"

She stood in between Jimin and Jungkook as the group did their greeting and struck a pose just for the fans.

"Today since we are here at MAMA, we personally would like to hear some good news," Namjoon said on the mic.

"We are just one month away from 2017. Can we ask what plans you have?" The MCs asked.

"We're planning a fanmeet in Japan," Jin answered. "And we're working hard on music production so please look forward to it,"

Just a short while away before the show began with idols heading to their seats, Hyuna made her way to the stage and sat in her seat which was front row. There was tension in the air as anticipation filled to what Jennie might do as a response. Everyone was interested to see how this was going to go and idols were living for the drama. Gossip went all around the idols as they had private discussions on what might happen and who might win this.

"Where is Miss Bangtan?" Chanyeol wondered as he looked around, seeing that she wasn't sitting with the rest of BTS.

"Probably still getting ready?" Sehun assumed.

"I just want to see what she has planned tonight. Hyuna is already seated," he pointed out.

With Jennie, being the social butterfly and eager to meet her favs, she had strolled backstage to find the three men she wanted to meet. First up was Timbaland. He had been invited to perform with Eric Nam and to receive an award. Timbaland had worked with so many artists and was one of the many inspirations to her. She still believed he, Nelly Furtado, and Justin Timberlake were one of the best trios ever in music. They mixed so well.

He was so chill in person and they took a few photos. He even looked pleased to see a black woman here as she thanked him for all his work. Perhaps one day she'll get a chance to work with him. She shared that she DJs and has been making songs for herself that are not quite ready to be released. He encouraged her to keep at it and gave her advice on making music which she took to heart, feeling grateful for his words. One day she will share her passions with ARMY.

Meeting Wiz Khalifa was a fun experience, with them sharing a hug and him having a big grin on his face. She expressed her admiration for his song with Charlie Puth and that she couldn't wait to see him perform tonight.

Meeting THE Quincy Jones had her starstruck. One of the greatest music producers of all time was in front of her as they shook hands. Her face warmed when he called her gorgeous and it was sweet of him to take time to talk to her. He listened to her talk about making music and he gave her lots of words of wisdom on creating.

She could listen to Quincy talk all day. He had a way with words that made her feel like she could do anything her creative mind envisioned when producing. But what stuck out to her the most was when he told her some of the best advice he had gotten.

"Your music will never be more or less than you are a human being,"

And it stuck with her. Being an idol is exhausting at times but she loved the work and the way it paid off. She wanted to remain happy. She wanted to continue to thrive with Bangtan and enjoy life. She wanted to speak her truth. She had to be vulnerable tonight when she got on that stage for her solo. She truly needed to dig down deep tonight when responding to Hyuna.

After tonight, she wanted to remove all negative thoughts and move forward with everything. And to take a break from social media. A break from social media was needed. Breaks were good and she could always see it assisting her mentally.

After speaking to these men, she felt a fire light in her and felt even more musically inspired. She posted the photos on Twitter with the caption, 'An honor to meet these amazing & talented black men! Night has been made! Thank you for your kindness and words of wisdom! #Jen'

After going to the bathroom, Jennie made her way to the stage, earning loud cheers from fans when they saw her. She smiled and waved, heading over to where Bangtan was sitting. She ignored Hyuna's presence as she walked past her and acknowledged her idol friends sitting around. Fansites filming her caught some reactions of some idols watching her in awe, admiring her look for the night as she took a seat next to Jungkook at the end.

"Welcome back!" Jungkook grinned.

"Yeah, glad to see you smiling, brighter. Did something happen?" Hobi asked.

"Thanks! And yeah, I got to meet Wiz, Timbaland and Quincy Jones! My heart was racing a bit! They were awesome! I took photos with them. You'll see on our Twitter," she beamed.

The members were surprised and happy as she talked about the interactions she had with each of them. They could tell she was creatively moved by their words of wisdom. Soon after, the boys were all immersed in their own conversations while Jennie tried to adjust her bracelet which was put on a bit too tightly. She accidentally dropped the bracelet and both her and Jungkook aimed to kneel to grab it.

"Thanks, I got it," she glanced at him with a smile, grabbing it first as they both rose, still sitting quite close.

Jungkook got caught in 4K with the way he kept his eyes on her while her focus was on the stage and audience members as the show was preparing to start soon. The way he glanced at her up and down as a small smile came across his face with his lingering gaze did not go unnoticed with fan sites filming them.

Feeling his eyes on her, she turned and looked at him up and down, with them both occasionally glancing at each other's lips. Then they began to smile as she found herself getting lost in his blue contact colored eyes.

No wonder things felt like something was missing. The two of them realized they hadn't kissed each other all day. They'd been so busy preparing for the show and making sure their dances were fine that they didn't even get a chance to share one kiss today.

"Do you two need to be separated?" Yoongi asked teasingly while covering his mouth to avoid getting his lips read by fans watching them. This became a reoccurring thing to cover their mouths so they could speak more freely at these shows.

Jimin and Taehyung started laughing since they had been watching the couple this whole time.

"They haven't kissed at all, today. Jungkook might just go feral," Jimin giggled.

"Yeah, you two need to be separated," Yoongi advised with an amused smirk, making the 95 Liners laugh again.

"We really don't," Jen replied. "We'll be on our best behavior,"

"Are you sure? You two are distracted by each other," Taehyung teased.

"Do you remember where we are?" Jimin added to the teasing.

"Did we fail to mention we caught Jungkook's pleased expression when smelling her new perfume? He can't get enough,"

"Hyung!" Jungkook glared, feeling his face warm.

"We've moved to you two enjoying each other's smells and scents you use? You two need to relax," Hobi laughed.

"Oh my God, can you leave us alone and stop watching us?" Jennie exclaimed, feeling her face flushed.

"Should I be concerned?" Jin asked, listening to the conversation. "Maybe you two should switch seats,"

"Seriously?" Jungkook frowned.

"We'll be on our best behavior, Jin," Jennie reassured.

"Are you sure? Because I do not believe that,"

"Neither do I," Namjoon spoke up with a light laugh.

"You guys are exaggerating!" Jennie exclaimed.

"This time, I don't think we are," Jin chuckled and let out a sigh, already knowing they were going to drive him nuts tonight. "Just please try to behave yourselves and stay professional tonight,"

"Sir, yes, sir!"

Once the show began, Jennie jumped for joy and found herself getting emotional when IOI won Best New Female Artist. Cameras caught her looking proud and ecstatic for the girls with her eyes getting watery.

When GFriend and Seventeen performed for their collaboration, Hayoon was paired up with Vernon. The synchronization of the two groups blew Jennie's mind as she had her jaw dropped at their dancing. When Gallant performed, she smiled over at Taehyung since he was a big fan and cheered loudly with him, overjoyed with his performance.

As Baekhyun and Suzy performed Dream, Jen watched him, mesmerized as the camera caught her singing along to his parts. The members would glance over and smile at her being so into the song, knowing how much she adored him. It caught a lot of attention from Exols and ever since Jennie started meeting the EXO members, Exols took a liking to her. They loved how vocal she was about her admiration for the group and how highly she spoke of them. The EXO members would always have nothing but good things to say about her and enjoyed their sweet moments together. Armies and Exols wondered if they'd share another moment tonight.

Later, Bangtan managed to win Best Dance Performance. However, Jin and Taehyung weren't with them when they announced them as the winners, causing Jennie to laugh. They were probably in the bathroom. Nonetheless, she stood up with the rest of the boys, bowing and thanking everyone with big smiles.

"Yeah! Go, Jennie! Congrats guys!" Bam Bam shouted and approached them with Yugyeom.

The two Got7 members high fived her, Suga, and Jimin before they went up to the stage. Rapmon gave the award to Hobi and stood behind him so he could do the acceptance speech. Jennie smiled proudly as she stood next to him and listened to him speak.

"Wow! Thank you so much for such a huge award," Hobi said on the mic. "And since it's the best performance award for us, there is a larger meaning behind it. Thank you so much. And to the ARMYs who are always supporting us, thank you so much. And I would like to thank Teacher Son Seung Deuk who created this best performance,"

Jennie chuckled once Taehyung and Jin rushed on stage to join them. They both gave her a look as the three of them tried not to burst out in laughter. The trio smiled at one another while Jin placed his hands on Jungkook and Rapmon's shoulders, smiling at them.

"Thank you so much!" Hobi ended his speech, earning loud cheers.

"Thank you, ARMY!" Suga shouted.

"I love you!" Jin added with Taehyung and blew a flying kiss.

As Zico performed Boys and Girls, Jen sat in between Hobi and Taehyung, vibing and doing the choreography. Once he made his way over to where Bangtan was sitting, the members danced in their seats while he took a seat near Rapmon on the arm of the couch. When Bermuda Triangle came on, she stood up with Hobi and Taehyung, getting hyped as they watched Dean and Zico back on the main stage.

"This is my shit!" she started dancing and vibing to Dean, singing along with Hobi and Taehyung.

She laughed out loud when Taehyung began dabbing and she followed his movements, making him happy. Once Zico summoned Crush, Jennie immediately turned and locked eyes with Jungkook who was still sitting as they pointed to each other and lip synced his verse.

Dean, Crush, and Zico killed it on stage, hyping up the crowd. It was one of her favorite performances of the night. Later on, Jen switched seats again and found herself sitting at the end with Jungkook. She grinned as the next act consisted of a collaboration between Got 7, Monsta X, and NCT 127.

As soon as NCT's Firetruck began to play, Jennie began nodding her head to the beat, enjoying the song. This song was a banger and one of her absolute favorites.

"Firetruck," she mouthed, beginning to lip sync the song while dancing in her seat.

"Ey, yea, yea, yea, yea!" She fan chanted with the audience and Jungkook.

The camera showed Jennie and Jungkook both on the screen as loud cheers occurred and they looked at the camera, headbanging. Bangtan giggled at their enthusiasm and so did some other idols who peeped them on screen.

Once Monsta X began to perform Fighter, she ended up cheering for Wonho when he was shown singing. She passionately sang his lines while fans had tweeted how Wonho biased she was. After their performance, it was time for Got7 as they performed Hard Carry with her dancing along.

As the show went on, she was proud to see Seventeen win the World Performer Award as she was the first to stand and applaud. Seeing The8 made her smile widely and wave as he waved back.

"Gosh, I hope one day I'm chosen to present an award at one of these shows. It would be fun," Jennie thought out loud.

When the presenters began to announce the nominees for best female vocal performance, Jennie jumped in her seat and cheered loudly when Ailee was shown on the screen. Bangtan glanced at her with knowing smiles, loving her excitement for the woman she had admired for years.

Once Ailee was announced as the winner, she applauded, jumping up and down, excitedly. Just before going up to the stage, Ailee caught a glimpse of Jen and smiled widely, waving at her. When she gave her acceptance speech, the camera caught Jennie watching her with admiration. The angle of where Jennie was filmed caused Twitter to geek over how beautiful her face card was and point out the love in her eyes as she watched Ailee.

With the show getting ready for the next segment, Jennie suddenly received a few packs of smarties from Jungkook.

"How'd you know I was about to ask?" she happily accepted them with surprise in her voice.

"I brought some with me just in case. I was paying attention to your facial expression. When you're about to ask for smarties or say that you wish you had them, you make this cute face. It's like you're pouting,"

"What? I was not pouting..." She turned away, feeling her face warm as he giggled.

"You just did it again,"

"Stop looking at me," she playfully pushed him away, making him laugh harder.

Lately, with the members, her smarties are always on standby. Over the years of getting to know her, they started to understand and know exactly when she wanted the candy and managed to always hand them to her before she opened her mouth to ask.

"Still, thank you," she added and began eating them.

As she ate her smarties, she ended up tossing them up in the air to catch and eat. Wanting to challenge her, Jungkook decided to do it too with his pack of smarties to see who could catch more in their mouths. In the end, Jungkook won as he grinned victoriously while Jennie caught any smarties that she missed from her mouth with her fast hands.

Rule Number One: Do NOT waste Smarties

Next up on the show was Twice and IOI performing. Jennie looked and felt like a proud mom watching IOI perform Pick Me. Fansites caught her entire reaction to the girls performing and thought it was wholesome seeing her get emotional. Being a trainer at Produce 101 to seeing the girls thrive as a group made her heart feel complete. Whenever Jennie was shown on screen, loud cheers would occur and sometimes idols reacted positively when they saw her on screen, with some smiling and commenting that she looked nice.

Once IOI began to perform Very, Very, Very, Jennie began to do the choreography while lip syncing.

After they performed, Twice was up to perform Cheer Up and then TT as she watched happily, cheering her friends, Mina and Jihyo, on.

"Just like TT! Just like TT!" she performed the choreography with Taehyung.

It was time for Hyuna to perform, as some idols were anticipating if anything was going to happen. They hadn't found something this entertaining in a while and hoped something would go down between her and Jennie. Hyuna strutted on stage and performed U&ME. Then she performed How's This with her backup dancers.

Jennie thought it was extremely petty of Mnet to keep a camera right in front of her to film her every reaction but she remained unamused and watched with her head up high. Bangtan didn't even like the fact that the camera was basically in her face nor did Armies.

Suddenly, Hyuna had changed some of her lyrics, not looking Jennie's way as she danced.

Not a high and mighty girl scout in the club behind some fake bulletproof glass. How boring.

Some idols widened their eyes while others glanced over to where Jennie sat.

Yet another diss? This was getting out of control.

Bam Bam cringed and glanced at Jennie with worry, hoping she'd be all right. Hayoon frowned at the diss and shook her head slightly.

However, Jennie only smirked as she continued to watch, knowing that all eyes were on her to see how she'd react. Bangtan glanced at her and as she met their eyes, she gave them a nod. They nodded back and remained calm as they continued to watch the performance.

Suddenly a switch flipped in Jennie's demeanor as she rolled her neck and stared at Hyuna.

'This bitch got me fucked up...' she thought as she kept her cool.

Fans tweet:

'Don't be mad if Jennie catches her in an alley to stomp that ass!'

Little did they know Jennie was listening closely and analyzing what she was saying to use it against her.

Timbaland arrived on stage to perform with Eric Nam.

And boy was it...awkward.

She sat next to Namjoon during this performance and covered her mouth to murmur to him, "Yo, Timbaland looks so confused. This whole performance is hard to watch,"

And he agreed. It was hard to watch. And she wished the crowd was more excited for Timbaland. It was THE Timbaland and the audience wasn't that loud for him in comparison to Eric Nam. No offense to him.

After being told they were needed backstage, Bangtan got ready for their performance. She changed out of her dress to wear black pants and a long-sleeved ruffled white shirt that hugged her body nicely. With her hair out, she wore a black suit jacket with some silver designs around it, and the daisy pin was placed on the jacket for good luck. As she got ready, she watched on the monitor to see that EXO had won best group and Twice won best female group.

Waiting to get on stage, Jennie ended up posting G-Dragon's iconic diss on the MAMA Awards on her Instagram story, which sparked even more interest in what was going to happen tonight.

"I got a little solo stage. It's going to be pretty fun. I hope everyone likes what I have in store," she beamed at the Bangtan Bomb camera after warming up her voice.

She looked ahead to see Jin checking out the special effects makeup on Taehyung's back to show off his broken wings. He went on the touch it but began to freak out, causing her to giggle.

"It feels like pudding!" Jin exclaimed.

"Why is Jin Hyung so childish?" Namjoon wondered, causing Jennie to laugh again.

The laughter loosened her up and made her less on edge about tonight's big performance.

She was ready.

After everyone was ready and went over last minute rehearsals, the eight of them gathered around and put their hands in the middle.

"All right, fellas! Let's make it a memorable one!" Jennie cheered.

"Indeed! Mama 2016, let's make it a legend. Bangtan! Bangtan!" Namjoon shouted.

"Bang-Bangtan! Fighting!" the group shouted and pushed their hands down.

Backstage with the rest of the boys, Jennie watched with a smile as Jungkook looked ethereal while hanging from the ceiling on stage. He really did his thing. And it was harder than it looked.

She turned to the backup dancers who were patiently waiting for their cue to come out after they performed BST. She greeted them happily and asked if the cookies she made for them yesterday tasted fine. They raved over their love for her baking and appreciated her kindness. She wanted to thank them for being such a great support system for Bangtan and wanted to give them something nice.

"Let's have some fun! See you out there!" She beamed and bowed at them.

On stage, next up was J-Hope performing Boy Meets Evil, hyping up the crowd with a blue background. Then Jimin was revealed on stage, featuring a red background as he danced to Lie while blindfolded.

"The camera work though~?" Jennie watched in awe while the camera did a full circle as he danced.

Then the two had an epic dance collaboration on stage while performing the rest of the choreography for Boy Meets Evil. After they were done, the rest of the group met up on stage and began to perform Blood, Sweat, & Tears as the audience cheered loudly.

Here we go, the most anticipated part. The audience had been waiting to see a MAMA Award version of their duet. As the rest of the members were on the floor, only Jen remained standing with Jungkook. Like always, Jungkook stared at her with love and desire as he slowly made his way toward her from behind. With his presence behind her and face near her neck, he held her in his arms. She leaned into his arms as she began to sing with her mic.

He turned her around and tried to get closer but she backed away. Persistent this time, he pulled her straight into his chest as he smirked and held her gaze with the audience screaming at their closeness.

They continued to dance sensually with him mirroring her movements.

Reflecting on my choices, I'm wonderin' if there's any way out of this

"Here comes my favorite part!" Yugyeom pointed out with the rest of Got 7 agreeing.

"Are they about to do the spin, this time?" Somi asked the IOI members as they were hopeful.

"Are they gonna do it?" Baekhyun wondered.

"The part is coming~!" Yuji giggled with the rest of GFriend.

"The spin coming?" Mingyu asked in anticipation, leaning forward, studying their movements.

"Let it be the spin," Mina had her fingers crossed.

"Here comes the spin!" Wonho cheered.

The idols got excited and so did the crowd as they began screaming and cheering when JenKook did their signature move. Everyone watched in awe at how they moved and thought about the amount of trust that was needed to pull it off. They weren't called The Golden Duo for nothing.

Jennie was pulled back into his arms as she continued to sing.

I'm losing this battle, I just can't resist.

The music changed slightly from the original instrumental of BST. Jennie and Jungkook were supposed to dance a little more for this instrumental but they remained close and pressed up against each other with her in his arms. They held each other's strong gaze and suddenly their lips met as they drowned out the loud pandemonium around the venue.

With their eyes closed, Jungkook gently lifted her chin and turned his head to deepen the kiss as they both smiled into it.

With the idols, Bam Bam began shaking Jackson while their jaws were dropped, looking shooked. Jay B and Mark widened their eyes while the rest of Got7 acted chaotic as they all enjoyed every bit of the surprising moment.

"What!? What!?" Jackson shouted as he fell dramatically.

The boys laughed at his reaction. Yugyeom grinned immediately once he saw them kiss and let out a chuckle. It made him proud to see Jungkook be so open about Jennie like this. The amount of guy talks they had about girls and how Jungkook's eyes would light up whenever he mentioned her made Yugyeom understand that these two were serious about each other.

The kiss fit so well with the performance and her lyrics. But there was no denying the love in their eyes as they looked at each other and how they kissed.

With IOI, various reactions occurred as some dropped their jaws, widened their eyes, covered their mouths, and giggled to themselves. Some filming them even caught a few of them mentioning how happy and cute Jennie looked with Jungkook. With EXO as they watched the kiss unfold, Chanyeol covered his face, giggling at the sight. Baekhyun smiled genuinely, watching Jennie kiss the man she loved dearly.

"Full of surprises," Sehun chuckled.

"Very," Xiumin added.

Twice looked at one another, surprised at the sudden kiss. They were excited to see their signature move but a kiss on top of that? Blown away. Mina and Jihyo glanced at each other with big smiles, happy for their friends.

"Did you think that was going to happen?" Jihyo asked.

"I didn't think it would but look at them. So cute! Jennie truly loves him. She smiles so brightly with him,"

"Mm hm!"

With Monsta X, the boys reacted dramatically and were in awe at their chemistry.

"I was waiting for a kiss!" Hyungwon pointed out.

"Me too, I was like, they have to do something big," Shownu chuckled.

"I wasn't expecting that at all, like damn!" Jooheon exclaimed.

All of GFriend gasped and then began jumping and squealing in their seats after seeing them smooch. Hayoon giggled with the girls and pointed out the kiss.

"It's happening! It's happening! I cannot stay calm about this! Finally~!" Hayoon cheered and began clapping with Yuji and Eunha.

"They kiss so passionately, my gosh," Sowon looked on, amazed.

Seventeen looked surprised while Mingyu and The8 happily smiled, enjoying the fact that their friends kissed openly on stage.

Meanwhile, Hyuna rolled her eyes as her reaction was filmed and she began to frown. She had her fair share of kisses on the MAMA Awards stage but the way the audience was screaming and cheering was a much louder reception than hers over the years.

With Bangtan, the boys were caught by surprise by their kissing. No one said anything about a kiss on stage. Jimin and Taehyung did their best not to freak out as they focused on the performance. The way they grinned and glanced at each other while they remained on the floor. Their hearts felt full to see their ship this open with each other in public. They especially loved how the kiss was a deep and passionate one and not just a short and sweet one.

Yoongi had enlarged his eyes a little at the bold move, wondering if this had been planned privately in advance. Getting over his initial shock, he became amused.

'These kids...' he thought.

Namjoon wasn't too surprised about it. He knew Jennie and Jungkook loved to be extra. He felt proud to see them show affection to each other on stage, not having a care in the world. They looked happy and that was all he wanted for them. To be happy like this privately and publicly. He found himself getting amused as he glanced at their passionate lip lock.

Mnet was having a field day with this. Ratings were definitely through the roof now with this shocking moment along with them raising the bar on this passionate kiss.

Jin and Hobi screamed internally when they saw them smooch. They weren't expecting it and thought they'd go along with their routine. After getting over the shock, it pleased them to see them be this bold in public and thought it fit well with the performance.

Back with Jennie and Jungkook, they pulled away as she bit her bottom lip lightly, returning his smile.

But then...reality set in.

'Oh...oh shit,' They both thought and realized what just happened.

They both remained "In Character" for their performance although it was pretty clear their feelings were showing out. It was bound to happen. The kiss was not planned at all but they moved to each other by instinct. And it felt good. So good. She kissed her boyfriend in front of the entire world, solidifying a MAMA Awards moment.

Remembering her last line, she finally sang the end of her verse.

Only a matter of time before you screw me up and I'll be stuck reminiscing.

Jungkook had to refrain from kissing her again as they both leaned back in which caused more screaming from the audience to occur. Then they reluctantly pulled away as he blew out air and shook his head a few times, trying to control himself from making out with her on stage.

'We're on stage. We're on stage,' Jungkook reminded himself as he kept backing away from her and went to the next dance position for the song.

With the screaming still occurring around the venue and fansites of Jennie and Jungkook catching their every facial expression, this moment was on its way to going viral.

He cupped her face and pulled her in for a deep kiss, followed by multiple short kisses.

"I love you, too,"

"Was that planned?" Namjoon laughed.

"It just happened. I don't know who leaned in first," Jennie admitted.

"I don't know either but I'm not complaining," Jungkook added.

Jimin and Hobi jumped excitedly with Yoongi.

"JENKOOK~!" Yoongi shouted, making them all laugh as he started shaking the couple.

"Oh my God..." Jennie chuckled.

"JENKOOK~!" Jimin shouted. "Do you know how happy Tae and I were!? Our ship is soaring! Finally! That kiss was everything! You two know how to make us proud, huh?!"

The staff members had to step in to get them to separate so they could get them to their next location for the main stage while Jennie remained where she was. She waved goodbye and got ready.

"Jennifer."

She turned to see Yoongi.

"Control your emotions out there and wreck her life. You got this," he nodded in reassurance.

"Thanks, I will. See you out there," she nodded and saw him walk away, only leaving Namjoon.

Namjoon smiled down at her and held her hands, giving them a gentle squeeze.

"Jennie, you are undeniable. You are so good that they can't ignore you. This is your moment. Show them who Miss Bangtan is,"

Her eyes got glossy as she looked up at him and broke out into a grin.

"Thank you,"

He pulled her in for a big hug, kissing her forehead.

"I am so proud of you. And I am proud to be your leader. I'll see you out there,"

Once he left, she let out a deep breath and waited for her cue as she gripped her mic. The backup dancers were currently on stage, some in white cloaks and black cloaks while a Bangtan Bomb had been filming her all this time.

'Why did you and Jungkook kiss on stage?'

She was asked as a smile crept up on her lips at their lip lock. Turning to the camera she responded with a wink, "I did say no matter how much I resist I can’t fight what you’re doing. I officially fell into temptation. It was worth it though,"

Once the staff told her she could go on stage, she touched her daisy pin, thinking of G-Dragon. As soon as she got back on that stage...she knew everything was about to change.

"I hope I continue to make you proud," she murmured.

Okay, so overall, I'm relatively satisfied with the ending. I also cried about as much as I would have done if they all died so my emotions are still all over the place. Do I think every question we had came to a satisfying conclusion? Not quite. But I think we tied up enough loose ends for me to be content.

And I'm happy they got a somewhat happy ending. Knowing that they get to live a life in relative peace makes me happy, and we know that Hunter, Wrecker and Crosshair at least make it another few years. Omega joining the Rebellion also seems apt. As an Echo girly I unfortunately don't feel quite as secure with where we left off. I don't have the same level of closure that I do with the others because we know that around this point in time, he isn't with Rex. But he also isn't with the Batch either. I hope we get to see more of him in future projects because I don't quite feel satisfied with this being the end of his story. He's doing too much for it to stop there.

Also... we were wrong about Tech. The level of delusion we carried throughout this season, my god. 😭 But it means I'm confused by some of their choices. The way they focused on being savvy with technology, the way he moves being similar to Tech, FUCKING DOMICILE??? Like, they have to have known that we would all go that way with our theories so why??? If it wasn't him they why was he written the way he was? I refuse to believe everything we thought was purely out of delusion. Does this mean I have issues with the way Tech's story ended? Yes. But overall I think the show wrapped up fairly well.

I'll try and drop some more thoughts later down the line once I've pulled myself together a bit, but for now I can say that I am content. Completely satisfied? Not really, but definitely content.

i watched the first act with my brother and here are some of our thoughts while we were watching episode 1! i've tried to avoid spoilers as much as possible + i don't play league, so if i missed anything obvious it's probably because of that ☆

summary: i simp for vi and complain about the new side characters lol

omg jayce, mel and viktor are all alive?? i was so sure jayce wouldn't make it

and they're not even bleeding or injured at all, what

The protective big brother who thinks he’s not good enough for his little sister.

He was hopeless when he started to have symptoms, he kept his distance for the sake of the safety of others Eun Yoo. *cough* what was that?

He started transforming after few days of the apocalypse events. That’s why he kept his distance. Although he wrote his name in the list the last one, it’s like he had a feeling they would find it after he’s became a monster.

He can’t risk being exposed, he doesn’t want to be isolated like the other infected people.

He thinks if the group isolated him they will be doomed. He doesn’t care about anyone but his sister Eun Yoo.

So he choose to manipulate them to do what he wants and to leave him alone in the control room where no one can see his symptoms.

So basically he was about to be a special one if he tried like hyun-su if it wasn’t for the fall of the building. “In my personal opinion”

When he saw eun yoo with hyun-su making that pinky promise he was relieved a bit that she won’t be alone when he completely turn into a monster.

He knows Hyun-su wouldn’t hurt her, or anyone else. But he kept using him literally abusing him by sending him on hard missions.

Part of him was jealous of Hyun-Su because he is really protective over his sister. That’s one of the 100 reasons why he was abusing him the way he did and treated him poorly.

I’m not saying Eun Hyuk was a bad person, he was just selfish, aren’t we all selfish at some point when it comes to the things we really love and care about?

He’s not very experienced but he had sex few times. He’s not a virgin.

His dick is average, grooms himself occasionally. Just to keep everything neat.

He can’t handle alcohol, he gets drunk very easily. If he even tried it the boy was only 18.

He has mysophobia.

He convinces himself he doesn’t need a relationship, that boy really does need, he doesn’t have social life.

He knew Eun Yoo is a smoker. He scolded her multiple times but she never admitted it, it was all empty excuses like “you just smell it on my clothes doesn’t mean it was me” “oh it was just the gangster man standing beside me smoking”

Even he caught her red handed but he just gave up talking to her, he sneaks in her room and change the cigarettes inside the pack with free nicotine cigarettes. She’s pissed.

At least he makes sure she eats nutritious foods.

does anyone share my conspiracy theory that netflix’s most recent account sharing crackdown is actually just thinly-veiled retaliation for the WGA and SAG successes?

here is my presentation:

a) this is the first sharing crackdown that has successfully prevented me*, who I will call a “leech user”, from accessing my family’s netflix despite active effort on my part (as someone who is, shall we say, 🏴‍☠️moderately acquainted with dubious maritime conduct🏴‍☠️)

(*the rest of my argument relies on the assumption that my experience is somewhat representative of the wider leech user demographic — I assume at least one person will reach out if that is not the case)

b) the method by which they’re preventing sharing (2-step verification but both devices have to be on the same wifi network) is too simple for them to have just now figured out how to implement it

c) therefore, I propose that netflix has known how to do this for a while, and have simply not had any real motivation to actually pull the trigger — the incessant whining about the burden of account sharing and wringing of their pathetic little hands when their “efforts” “fail” to kick out that many leech users, is all, to some extent, an act*

(*to what end? science has yet to find the answer. “probably shareholder related”, he said, confidently, as though he were on Succession)

d) HOWMSTEVER — if netflix now has to deal with paying residuals each individual time something is streamed, suddenly all the streaming done by leech users is now Actively An Issue. so. crackdown.

e) so fewer individual streams = fewer residuals = less lost profit on netflix’s part — sounds like the kind of business decision that makes sense to the world of capitalism! but like. it’s inherent. this is the same business decision netflix was making before, the one that caused strikes in the first place, and to sneak right back into it after making a public show about how they’re “no longer” going to be screwing artists over, is absolutely a retaliatory action. referencing their “ongoing” “issue” with account sharing as plausible deniability is ridiculous and insulting

f) side note: the timing is also sus

g) if I were a cartoonishly evil corporation, I would create a MUCH longer gap between the new union contracts and my retaliation — it is NOT well-disguised right now

h) however, what all of netflix’s “attempts” to prevent account sharing have in common is what appears to be a fervent and genuinely held opinion on netflix’s part that booting leech users will somehow cause them to convert to paying account holders. they seem to be so invested in this goal that they’ll hold onto it even when it seems to contradict their other goals

i) now comes the timing thing — a few weeks after kicking the leech users (so as to let the tempers cool off), now we have the new A:TLA live action trailer + release date. very well-loved show, very active fanbase for a 3 season kids’ cartoon that recently turned 18, broad appeal to fairly disparate groups of people who are likely to be in the leech user demographic. I could go on but I’m tired

j) so if netflix is convinced that it’s vitally important to convert leech users into paying users, it makes sense to boot them right before hyping material that might ACTUALLY cause them to convert. I, for one, would seriously consider subscribing in order to watch it if I wasn’t certain that life will uhhh… 🏴‍☠️find a way🏴‍☠️

l) this is the part of the theory where I claim that netflix bumped up the timeline of their union retaliation to work with the A:TLA trailer release so that they could piggyback another use onto the method of their madness

m) and this is the part where I realize I’ve gone through half the alphabet. this is all speculative, these opinions belong solely to the blogger and are in no way representative blah blah blah. I have not re-read this draft ok goodnight*

ah the Hard Questions… love them all for varying reasons and very much need to do my own reread (so this is basically a ‘who i’m looking forward to most (definitely not influenced by your commentary)’ list) but as of now:

1. antoine. i have no good justification for this but i adore the arc postreboot was setting him up for and have a very different perspective on his early sucky bits now. he’s fun. he’s funny. he’s lame and i like him a lot. bunnie ily2 but you’re objectively a Good Character and i am legally only allowed to become unreasonably attached to bad ones. sorry queen

2. shard. expected. i am not original. mvp. i am sitting in approximately 4k of fic outlines about this guy no matter what fandom i’m in he has his own corner of my brain

3. sonic himself. all of him but especially those last few arcs pre reboot. i have ages of stuff to say about that era of sonic and far too much investment in the fact that he’s the only one who fully remembers everything… mr the hedgehog i miss you.

ninjago seasons… once again i am Bad At Ranking bc i love them all for different reasons but as of partway-through-s9:

1. season 4. fave since the beginning. this season has had multiple lines stand the test of time as a injoke with my brothers despite not watching the show for years and it’s still solid and fun and ridiculous. perfect combination of ninjago traits. the metric for which i compare most of the series to

2. season 1. i adore the season 1 ninja and their arcs and am notoriously annoyingly canon compliant and thus i love origin stories to much. none of this is surprising considering how the time travel shuffle au works agshdjdn. caveat being that i like s1 more and more taking into account later retcons but still

3. season 5 and 6 are tied for being the most polished and interesting ones and both of which i could talk about for HOURS despite neither being about my faves. astounding. messy. ninjago finally hit its sweet spot and then immediately lost its mind and i cannot choose between them bc skybound’s appeal lies most in how much it shakes up the status quo that possession absolutely nailed. both absolutely fascinating character wise even if they didn’t explore them to their fullest and i stand by that.

4. season 2. it’s a sitcom. it’s painfully obvious how much garmadon Does Not Want To Do This. it’s infuriating. i like the zx armor. peak ninjago experience

5. see the problem is all the other seasons have pieces i like and pieces i want to tear apart and figure out why the hell they thought that was a good idea. however if i need to pick one i think the most about season 3: pixal. space. absolutely terrible pacing. even more ridiculous worldbuilding. death. what more do you need (pixal to get a full arc pixal to get to be plot relevant pixal to get to explore morality pixal pixal more space ngl there’s a lot of cool dumb stuff they could do there and you know who could be there? pixal. i rest my case)

#have not had enough time to digest season 8 yet. while it is very interesting to watch s7 and on don’t click with me and while they are #SUPER interesting. and frustrating. and insert seven other adjectives here. while i do have Many Thoughts about them they don’t come anywher #close to classic ninjago to me and i can’t really rank them yet. as bad as some of the early stuff is i’m attached to it. not that i’m not #interested in what happens later but it’s individual parts that i can call my faves not whole seasons #anyway very likely to change and EXTREMELY subjective #text✨#ask game

Mikey has a shit ton of nicknames : Mikey, Mike, Mikey Mike (separate from the two first), Mikester, Painty, Sticker boi, Angel, Angelo Raph doesn't have much, just the occasional : Anger machine, Pointy, Phael, Pha. Meets is Meets, they did try one : Meaty. It did not stick. Leo is : General, Chief, Flake (snowflake that was shorten), Sensei (mocking), Boss, Braincell boy (when he's alone with mikey), Narnar, Nardo. Donnie is : Techy, Natello, Tel, Tello, Explosion man, Disaster boy, problem, Don, D April is : Neil, Champ, Winwin, Fluff. Casey doesn't have any yet, he's too recent, but they do throw some around from time to time : JJ, Deok-Su (not really a nickname jgirejger), Edgy Boy, Emo, Splits, Case. Splinter : Dad, Daddyo, Papa, Oto-san, Splinty (only from April), Mr. Splinter sir, Yoshi

So season 1 is all about the Kraang's menace, with a sideline of Shredder but not much, just enough to distract them a little from the Kraangs before they wipe out the city Now Season 1 also has to introduce the mutanimals, metalhead (maybe same episode ?), April gets a gun and a role in the team (could get coupled with a b plot), Karai becomes Shredder (over several episodes) and some daily life eps and fillers because MY GOD do I miss some good fillers in nowadays shows sometimes Like yes !!! I love plot !!! But please let me breathe a little S1 ep 1 would be the pilot, idk if 20 or 40 minutes long, probably in between these two, since it has to introduce : the turtle family, April, Casey, their relationships (should be done in tje first few minutes for april and turtle family), the kraang threat, and the entire "let's sneak out and beat down a random thief that will happen to be casey" While maybe setting up in tje background some of the future eps Like let's push as much foreshadowing in the first ep as possible so it ties back nicely to the rest of the show

2nd ep I would feel like should be about the turtles figuring out how to move around, maybe beat down some people and learn how to use their new environment while discovering the city. Could have a b plot of Casey actually formally meeting them. 3rd ep they discover the kraang menace during patrol, and instead of being all like "mmmh =-= what's going here... Sound sketchy znd weird let's learn as much as possible", freak out and retreat to the lair and just panic explains everything to Splinter, Casey and April. They don't believe them. #2012 mikey moment but with the whole team. The ep would go the turtles proving what they saw, Casey becoming part of the patrol team and Donnie getting his hands on some kraang tech (not much), setting up the soon to be metalhead ep 4th ep they investigate more what the fuck are the weird alien thingies doing. They infiltrate one of their base and find out absolutely nothing because none of the aliens speak english. So nothing is written in english. They do take a shit ton of pictures in hope to decipher it later. B plot, while team A is infiltrating the base, Team B is on lookout and they run into Baxter Stockman. That's when Buckle is born and also they find out what the hell the green thing was.

5th ep, in the background Donnie has just finished making Shelldon and presents him to the team. He doesn't mention it but we can see him making meets. It's a chill ep, just some family shenanigans with the pets. Casey meets Buckle. Raph and Leo want to try to make Shelldon a battle drone while Donnie and Mikey are very much against it. April and Splinter are looking for Ice cream kitty that disappeared and they're trying to hide it from mikey. 6th ep, the trio Donnie, Casey and April get some development, again a chill ep, smth like either everyone else got sick and they're looking for a cure or uhhh casey busted some of Metalhead's compunds and is trying to help Donnie get them back and April tags along, or donnie is missing pieces to continue Meets and Casey and April take him in the city to find some pieces... Smth along these 7th ep, Mikey is the one that finally figured out how to read the kraang's writing. I don't know how yet but he did. They find out about their obsession with imagination, and their plan to get it with the mutagene (which failed) and their brand new plan to directly extract it from people but whoops it kills them (work in progress). They're like "well wow that massively suck and it's on a huge scale how about we don't try doing this by ourselves" znd they try to warn the human authorities. Humans being humans, they don't believe them but now knows about their existence (which well they kinda did before because of rumors but now they know 100% (since in the colorcoded universe people knows actually mutants are a thing, and there are people that arz pro-mutants and people that are against mutants))

8th ep they play it low and stay in the lair instead of going on patrol, nice filler ep just fluffy family time, b plot we meet the mutanimals.

9th ep, Metalhead ep ! It's them !!! It's the boi (genderless) !!!! So Donnie presents them to his brothers, saying it's an IA blah blah blah, then they watch a movie where it's like "ooooooh evil IA they all realize humans sucks actually and kills them all" which makes them uncomfortable with Metalhead (who is not on), cue the "let's deactivate them" Meets yeeting thz fuck out to the mutanimals and the turtles meeting thz mutanimals and adopting meets

no actually when Leo lose his braincells, Meets is the second Leo guihgeru it's one of the thing about his brothers Donnie coded in the original program before the IA evolved

meets as soon as Leo is alone with Mikey : My time has come

i also want to slip in bonus shorts like 10 minutes long, of family shenanigans in the present and when they were young, including April and Casey as kids

like there's this part where you know how they aren't allowed to go too far in the lair ?

At some point when they were 10~11, they went anyway like "i ain't scared ):<" and then they kinda convinced themselves the place was haunted and never went back and when as teens casey asks about it they're like "bro no this place is haunted D:" i feel like it could be a fun ep ghioregheuri just 10 mins short, maybe an halloween special

Casey: "have you ever come back there since then?" Them: "lol no that place is scary af"

casey : "you. are fighting aliens like. every day" Them : "yeah but you don't get it this place is haunted"

it's it's a halloween special there would probably need to be a sort of threat, even if it's just their imagination, what did they think they saw? Fdhdf

i'm not sure yet but imagine it was just splinter messing with them to make sure they never go back he saw them preparing to sneak and go in and he followed them and scared them

maybe it could also JUST be them getting spooked it's easy to get spooked when you're 10, in a place dark you don't know a bit abandonned

THEY JUST GET REALLY SCARED AND DECIDE "AH HELL NAH"

i'm thinking April would be with them or go a bit after them (so like when they were young), going "yeah well I'm not scared >:)" but she'd be all alone in a dark place abandonned with rumors of it being haunted and Splinter wouldn't even intervene

but if casey had to go, first he'd be much older than they were, since they're 16, the others would still refuse to go, and Splinter would be like "welp i guess the secret is up now" but Casey would go in, alone with the lamp and come out like 10 minutes later screaming for his life because turns out the place is actually haunted

Meets, who's room is the closest to the not-allowed part : sweats intensifies

They're also a teen and they just learned this is in fact haunted and they are not one to dispute their brothers words "you say it's haunted ? that's factually impossible however every metal bones in my body trusts you and now i'm scared"

In the 10th ep, April finally learns about the Kraang's plan (which they kept from her), and HEAVILY insists to help them. They're hesitant about it but Leo straight up refuses, and she gets upset. Later during patrol with jis bros and Casey they talk about it and they're like "mate you should give her a chance, you gave Casey a chance and look at him now" and Leo is like ): but what if she gets hurt,,, she can't fight ! April (who had been following them without them noticing (which is already a proof she's skilled)) is like ):< well i'm gonna show him. They run into the Kraang and start a battle and April sees it as a chance to prove herself. She tries to sneak and grab one of the Kraang's gun but gets spotted and saved by Leo who gives her a VERY dirty look before finishing the battle. Once it's done he stomps over and they get into a yelling match (yey), until April convinces him to give her a real chance, using the skills she has (namely, a good shooter since when she was very little and her parents were still together, her mom wanted her to be able to fend for herself and she was given daily lesson for around 8 years. She only recently had to stop). She succeeds the test and Leo, still very not happy about it, "accepts" her in the team. After that we see his opinion improves about her position in the team during the episodes, as a background thing. She gets her own donnie made gun in the beginning of the next ep, too :)

Ep 11, chill ep, maybe a special for a holiday or smth, just a breather ajdcjzvd Ep 12, introduction of the Foot as a problem (until then there were some bits and pieces of Karai's and Saki's story here and there). The kids find Saki's corpse on patrol and recognizes him from Splinter's pictures and bring him back home. Yada yada grief, he gets a tomb, they realized something bad happened and investigate the Foot. Donnie and Raph are against distracting themselves from the KRAANG, but the other disagrees. Donnie and Raph don't go in the first place but then have tp rescue the others that got captured (and got a bunch of infos with it). They learn that the Foot went bad, and that there's a new leader the "Shredder". They learn they plan on dominating the city and invade bits by bits the world so the Foot rules over everything, as it should. Donnie and Raph acknowledges it's a problem and agrees to help as long as their main priority is the Kraangs (modifié) Ep 13, chill ep, Mikey centered with a b plot involving Meets introducing the turtle family to their sign language because they had grown tired of writing in a notebook.

when meets officially becomes part of the family, there's an awkward amount of time where he doesn't know what to say instead of "my sons" cue a lot of laughters from his kids when he calls them "my spawns" "my kins" "my beloveds" "my children" etc He ends up settling on "my turtles" Meets really hates being reminded THEY'RE a bot so even Splinter calls THEM Meets even tho he calls his other kids their full names

do you think Meets ever asks Donnie for upgrades ?

Well there is some moments where they do but usually they're content with what they have It's like, they ask when it's smth that will help them (silent flying thing to be discreet), not just going up to him like "eyyy upgrade my dude ?"

I feel like Mikey would try to get them to get more cool upgrades zgdvf, he'd be like "dude, you should ask Donnie for super fast rocket boosters, or an ice cream machine, heck yea, that'd be awesome!" xD

Oh he probably would XD Meets would just politely say no tho fhzvdjzcdh If Leo was the robot one, however, he'd probably end up with a shit ton of useless upgrades until donnie goes "okay that's enough"

Donnie after Mikey asks if it's a reboot : "Well Mikey, since you asked so nicely, I will tell you that if presented as a reboot, it is not ! In fact, while keeping the same story and continuing the plot of the previous 12 seasons, they changed the designs that were very flawed and had numerous problems of cohesion. Take... uh butterfly girl. Her hair grew longer and thicker during the transformation sequence even tho none of the other characters had that ! Her Butterfly motif looked more like a ribbon and caused confusion, and a lot of people complained about "sexualized" design because of her bare legs but short skirt (even tho it was part of her character). There was also a story of plagiarism, that was debunked since then, but did participate in the redesign. Plus, the overall team cohesion was really bad, none of their ouftit even slightly mirorred eachothers. How did they fix it you ask ? Well, they gave to the team several similar points, especially with their motifs. Look at the 6 button middle, they all have it, with their motifs on the side ! There's a little mark on their cheeks, and-" Mikey : "put me out of my misery"

Mikey thinks the visuals are great ! The characters are great ! But what the fuck is going on tho it just annoys him more than makes him hate it he just likes a well-built story

in level of stupidness, it presented the Shopkeeper as Sasuka's mom in the end of season 12 (they already had the redesign then), but then in season 20 they said the Shopkeeper was actually Sasuka that travelled back in time to beat up her team for some stupid reason

and it's like "yeah ! cool ! CHOOSE 1 THO" Mikey's favourite show is an on-going action romance show with a really well constructed story called "On the Devil's shoulder" he keeps trying to make his family watch it but they find it boring to death

Donnie: "I have a list of all the canon events that happened in this show right here." he points at a journal the size of a dictionary, "and in here I have a list of more events that directly contradicts the events of this first list" he points at another journal that somehow looks bigger than the first one

it's bigger because they contradict the same plot point several time

SO in Colorcoded each season would be year, and the ending of season 1 would finish most of the short arcs started there, like April's dad learn that they are a danger magnet, and the Kraangs winning happens on the anniversary of when they first got out of the lair. Like a bittersweet reminder. So in the end of season 1, New York is definitely destroyed (renamed Old York), and a lot of people runs away. April's dad cut all relations with the turtles, and she's dragged away to Canada, while Casey and Hye-jin are being put in foster care in Philadelphia, waiting for their mom to take them back (she's all they have left... or is she ). The turtles and Splinter returns to Japan to the remaining Hamato Clan (the Foot clan and Shredder does the same), and everyone is severely traumatized.

yea but like, what does imagination give the Krang? why wouldn't they give up after such a huge disaster? Is it really that worth it? Do they have a way to know if someone humans/mutants have more imagination than others? (cause if that's the case, I'd imagine Mikey would be an easy target since he's is pretty creative)

cause like, imagination is just basically the ability to make a mental image of something you have or haven't seen/felt/experienced, do they really need that? how come the Utroms and Kraang don't have that actually? If by imagination you mean the ability to have be able to "see" things in your head (mind's eye), then well, some irl people don't have that, it's not that uncommon, but it's really not worth all this effort to get. If by imagination you mean creativity, (hehe, kinda like the Lego Movie plot) then "imagination" probably wouldn't be the right word what's your definition of imagination here, cause it's a bit confusing why the Kraang would want it dfhdfdf (and surprising that they don't already have it, depending on the definition)

I thought they didn't care about what happened to the humans? why would they want to stop them? Even with a few new human memories, would that change their morals?

Imagination is the ability to create things that aren't real nor possible in one's head. Imagination is an ability that only the humans possesses, and that was deemed interesting by the high-tech society of the Utroms to study. To study it they made a faction dedicated to it : the Kraangs. Over the course of their study they realized the potential of imagination for their specie (not to advance, they already can do that, but to create their own made-up stories, make themselves a culture much like the humans. They want that ability, to them it's like a superpower).

the things is that they don't get a few human memories, when they snatch the imagination they snatch the entirety of the human's memories, and feelings attached to them, essentially fusing the human with the Kraang. To the Kraang it's like they experienced all that the human experienced. If the human had a daughter, it was their daughter

so they have both their own memories and all the human's memories?

ya but like the human's memories is this super violent all of the sudden thing, it feels much more fresh and vibrant and important basically it gives them empathy

so like, in this, imagination is like a 'skill' you can give someone (like, one human's imagination = one Utrom/Krang being able to imagine) right? it's not like, a quantity or something

i mean "give" is a big word. They do kill the human in the process. It's an ability they steal. But yeah basically 1=1

I mean he has a shit ton of pictures of them at every age but most of them are extremely chaotics (nice non-chaotic non-blurry pictures are rare)

I think his favourite picture would be of when they were kids (not toddlers like 6/7) and Mikey had a "class" to teach his brothers to paint and it ended up as a paint fight and mikey would get really mad they didn't take it seriously and start crying and the picture would just be crying mikey and his brothers comforting him with poorly made paintings, the turtles and their surrouding covered in paint

So i have yet to figure out season 2 but consider : they're being dragged in the mud and called out for it by [insert group of people here], and they're all traumatized and miserable Okay so what if at that point, Splinter never told them about his own failure as Yoshi Hamato And he finally tells them then

like they saw Splinter as an amazing flawless person and they get to see that he has failed too in the past,,

Okay so I keep thinking about it and WHAT IF During the entire NY catastrophe everyone got a good look at them/filmed them/took pictures so everyone knows about the 5 turtles that failed to save NY, and they get MASSIVE backlash from everywhere (internet, in the street, on the news... Meanwhile the governments are all pretending it's a hoax and mutants don't exists) So that doesn't help everyone's mental health, Splinter's story would help a bit but they'd still feel huge guilt from failing to save thz city. Then, amongst the hate, on internet a new # starts trending : #SavedByATurtle And it's like thousands of people saying that, yes, they failed to save the city, but if it weren't for the turtles they'd be dead. It starts on the internet and then it spreads (the news, books at some point), the idea that the turtles saved a SHIT TON of people. At some point a news channel does the math and announces they saved (at least) 3 million people with their different actions. Now yeah 3/19.5 is not ideal, but fuck that's 3 million people. (As time goes on the number keeps growing) Also at some point Steve vouches for them

Okay so I keep thinking about it but you know how in most of the TMNT it's always Leo/Raph relationship or arguing or whatever. I think in Colorcoded it'd be more Mikey/Raph.

Like I was thinking about several siblings interactions and I'm surprised that more often than not Mikey and Raph end up fighting For example, I was thinking of a Mikey/Donnie comic after the Leo/Raph one, where Donnie would feel like shit and Mikey would cheer him up before calling a brother meeting. Raph is bad at social interactions, even with his brothers he just has trouble figuring out what to say. So when Donnie is like "i'm worthless I know you'd give money for people to take me if you could". Raph answers with "If I were to sell you, don't worry, I'd sell Shelldon too so you won't be alone" Like he GENUINELY thinks it's the right thing to say there and he gets smacked by Mikey, anf they end up arguing

For another example, I was thinking after the Leo/Raph comic that maybe when Leo felt overwhelmed he'd give the lead to Raph (who doesn't want to lead, but will do so if it helps Leo, but only temporarily). So at some point he's leading and he accidentally put Donnie and Mikey in a lot of danger and when they return Mikey is furious and ask him "what the fuck were you thinking ?! You know Donnie and I's skills are lower than yours" "Yeah and ? Sounds like you need to train more often, not my problem." "It'll be your problem once you have our DEAD CORPSES ON YOUR HANDS" Then Leo would go "Mikey ! Stop !" Silence "You don't like how I do things ? Well what about you take the lead, Mikey ?" "I don't want to lead, I know my job I'm asking you to do yours !" "My job isn't to lead ! I'm not Leo !" Mikey looks at him up and down "Yeah I saw that." And then storms off

i'm genuinely surprised how much mikey's and raph's colorcoded character make them clash with eachothers like aight ngl did not expect that also Meets and Leo do argue a bit too. not as much as Mikey and Raph but they often have opposite views about what the team should do Donnie, who doesn't have enough self confidence to argue with anyone, stuck between 2 set of siblings arguing : )) :

donnie is just like "hh. hhhhh. time to stand there and wait awkwardly and hope it doesn't end up in bloodshed"

"Yeah it's my little puppy pup. My good girl. Yes your are yessss you are" "HAVE YOU SEEN THAT JAW ??? AND WHERE ARE IT'S EYES ??? THIS IS A DEMON" "Casey may I know why out of everyone you decided to climb on me" "Obviously because you're taller" "Yeah, obviously mister tough strong guy"

Mikey/donnie comic : Mikey and Donnie are in mikey's workshop, and donnie is posing while Mikey is sketching a bunch of his head from different angle. "Yes I'm finally getting it !" "What's the point..." "Well I never capture you right in my family paintings you know ? It always bothered me but if I practice a lot, you'll finally look good !" "No, I mean what's the point of working this hard for me ? Just leave me out of the paintings..." "No can do D. It's a family picture not a family picture minus that one guy" "It's not like I'll be there for long..." Mikey pauses and looks up "What" "Come on Mikey. You all told me : you'd rather give money to get someone to take me than keep me here" "Donatello what are you talking about" "Earlier, when you guys were telling me how worthless I am. Clearly you don't want me around" "Donnie oh my god. We were joking. Did you really take it seriously ? We would never. None of us would. We love you so much, you're our baby brother. "Oh gosh Donnie I-I'm so sorry I didn't think you'd take it like that. You're amazing and we love you and we would never do that." Leo hugs Donnie znd keeps at least a hand on him until the end of the scene "Yeah, well don't worry Don, if we ever do sell you, we'll sell Shelldon with you so you're never alone" Raph gets smacked violently by Mikey while Leo goes "Raph ):< !" "HEY MIKEY ! What ??? What, what did I say wrong ??" Donnie looks devastated and about to have a breakdown "Raph apologize." "What, no ! And don't tell me what to do Michelangelo. I did nothing wrong" "Oh 'you did nothing wrong' ! What are you, stupid ?" Mikey and Raph start to argue in the back while Donnie shakes off Leo's hand and leave.

Later on, Donnie is captured by Baxter Stockman's mousers and he goes "To be captured that easily, this one must certainly be a burden to your team... Say, let's make a deal." Mikey, Raph and Leo are very on edge about to snap at any moment. "What deal" "Well, I'll take your friend there, and in exchange, I'll let you go and never bother you again. And you know what, I'll even throw in some money, what do you say, mh ? You are all quite the mutagene success and I've dreamed to dissect one of you. It's an excellent deal !" As he speaks we can see Donnie's face falling until he drops his head in defeat, like he knows they're going to say yes "What the fuck is wrong with you" "Yeah we're not selling our brother !" "You can take your stupid deal and shove it up where I think." They continue to berate Stockman (that looks very surprised), while Donnie is absolutely glowing in the back. After he's rescued he just leaps in and hugs his brothers tight with the biggest smile

about raph's possible autism I've also made him like super awkward socially with everyone new he meets until he gets to know them even a little bit and also tend to avoid people and go to pets and such and like idk nhgirejhugeruj maybe that's also accidental autism code idk

Final Post.

You read the title. I won't be continuing A Second Chance anymore. Below the cut, I explain what the plot was gonna be.

I plan on stepping away from SU as a whole now. The only thing I want to finish is Half a Puppet, which you can read on AO3. ((This is absolutely my. best work, I am super proud of it. Pearl's chapter is my magnum opus at the moment. If anything, please go read that lol.))

Thank you everyone for supporting the blog. This was fun, and it got me though COVID and a lot of 2021. I love you all a lot.

I am still active on Tumblr. I am hyperfixated on Cuphead right now, and run the @cuphead-contract-au blog. I am also working on an original project I eventually want to make into a real animated TV show called Follychromatic. You can follow my journey there. @follychromatic.

Basically, her thing with Connie was because Rose and Greg had been the same right before Greg made Rose go away. She doesn't want the same to happen to Steven.

Pink yelled at her and banished her. This is why she hates Pink, but loves Rose. She joined the rebellion because of that. Reread the intro bit, Rose knew what she had to do.

Spinel would learn to grow more mature and compassionate about the people around her. She would learn what a healthy relationship looks like and strive to have that with everyone. She makes up with Connie, and they become good friends.

In Future, she winds up teaching the gems how to play games. Her sole episode would be about trying to get Steven to relax, similar to Snow Day but not a replacement. It would happen closer to Mr Universe, maybe before the trip but after Steven realizes he has trauma. She'd see how down he is and try to take his mind off of things, which we realize does not work.

17,000 Years Ago

Spinel emerges from her kindergarten.

It was on the planet above the Garden, with the large heart-shaped hole in it

She emerged as her Homeworld-designed self, and immediately recognized Pink and hugged her. Volleyball was present for it.

Pink managed to sneak Volleyball to a couple of playtimes between her and Spinel. The trio was happy, but Spinel never paid much attention to the pearl.

8,000 Years Ago

Volley’s eye cracks.

Pink had been throwing a tantrum at the time and her scream hurt her eye physically

Pink didn’t know about her healing powers before this point, so had no way of fixing it.

She rushed to the other Diamonds, asking if they knew a way to heal her

The Diamonds take Volley away and Pink swears to get better.

Instead of helping, the Diamonds saw that, despite the fact that they GAVE PINK A FRIEND, she still saw her Pearl as one and took her away

This was the moment Pink swore she wouldn’t throw a tantrum again (but note: growth isn’t linear, and yes, she DOES throw a few more first, but that’s later).

A rift is drawn between her and Spinel

Pink likes being equal to others around her, and that was the relationship she had with Volleyball. They were equals in friendship.

That was the only relationship she had like that, so when Volley got taken away, it devastated her

Spinel was created for the sole purpose of serving Pink Diamond, and her friendship is one-way to the point that she doesn’t want Pink to be on equal ground with her. She’s perfectly fine being beneath her, which Pink is highly uncomfortable with.

This is when she started getting annoyed with Spinel, and mostly started going to her to get away from the palace instead of just to play.

Pink starts becoming more mature.

In her quest to A) stop being childish, and thus B) get a colony, Pink knew she needed to grow up. So she began acting more like Yellow and Blue wanted her to.

She wasn’t happy, however, and came to the garden to let loose. She could be as childish as she wanted there.

7,500 Years Ago

Pink is gifted our Pearl

However, she is still throwing tantrums, and at one point, she hurts Pearl during one, causing her to get rejuvenated. Not gonna keep making you Pearls just to get them taken away, Pink.

This causes Pink to never want to use that blasted devise again. She wasn’t aware that it completely reset a gem, just that it erased certain behaviors and memories.

Our Pearl is programmed for no funny business, creating another one-sided relationship that Pink doesn’t want any part of.

Spinel and Pearl met only a few times before the thing happens, but enough that Pearl knows who she is and can remember her later.

6,000 Years Ago (000)

Spinel is left in the Garden

It’s finally paying off. The Diamonds see Pink as one of them (only took 2,000 years, haha!). She’s given Earth as a colony.

However, because the Garden is her place to let loose, she gets extremely annoyed at Spinel for jumping around her like she does. She’s worried they might take her colony away again.

She didn’t mean to forget about her. The way she was always punished was that she was locked in the tower. How is this any different?

Spinel is NOT going to mess this up for her.

Pink comes to Earth

Colonization begins in the Prime Kindergarten

5,850 years ago: (150)

The Amethysts emerge

Pink goes down to Earth with Pearl

They keep sneaking off for about two months before Pink really realizes what it’s doing to the planet

Pink starts trying to persuade the Diamonds to leave the planet alone.

At first, they don’t take her seriously, but when she keeps asking, they start to get annoyed with her. They threaten that this is her colony, she wants it, so if she ever wants to have another, she is to shut it.

Blue is much harsher during this time, and Yellow is a bit softer. Just a tiny bit, though. (Grief changes the both of them)

Coral and Amber approach Spinel and ask her if she wants to play with them. She says no, that she’s already playing with Pink. They insist, having seen that Pink probably isn’t coming back any time soon, but again, Spinel says that Pink wants her to stay still. So that’s what she’s gonna do. The duo retreat into maintaining the garden, but their own worry starts to make the garden run rampant.

5,825 years ago (175)

Blue starts the human zoo

Pink tries to show her life and say that she wants to preserve it.

Blue just kinda rolls her eyes and goes “okay fine” and the zoo is built.

5,800 years ago: (200)

Pink gives up trying to persuade them

Though not entirely, as she does bring it up sometimes.

Spinel meets Jasper on the battlefield, resulting in a showdown. Spinel is terrified of Jasper’s power and strength, and runs from her. There’s a chase as she and some of her close friends flee.

She makes a huge choice and decides that they can’t run forever, and to save her friends, she turns to face Jasper herself.

The two fight, with Spinel actually doing okay, but she winds up getting poofed

She would have been shattered, but 7TH and 7TP rush in. One throws her gem to the bushes while they fight, resulting in getting poofed. Jasper decides to keep them for information, and can’t find Spinel’s gem.

Spinel reforms and rushes off to the CG base in tears, only to learn that her friends sacrificed themselves to save her.

She swears that she will get them back, and she and Jasper shall meet again.

Spinel feels grief even though she knows well that Pink abused her. Pearl has a talk with her about the whole thing, and Spinel feels better, knowing there’s someone else who misses her too. (BUT REMEMEBER THE GAG ORDER)

Immediately, the Homeworld gems start a plan to shatter every Crystal Gem, with new intel from a rebel on a potential place their base may be.

A huge battle takes place, drawing all gems on Earth to it

Yellow comes down in a ship and starts work on the Cluster, heading to the Prime Kindergarten to issue the experiments immediately, while there are no witnesses

This is the event that drives a rift between Spinel and Amethyst. Spinel was greedy for all of Rose’s attention there at the end, but her respect for Pearl and for Garnet as leader allowed them to get close to her. However, she literally pushed Amethyst away during that time, and because of that, Amethyst’s time with Rose was reduced from what it could have been. From then on, Amethyst holds a grudge against Spinel, and she retaliates since trying to make it up to the little Quartz failed.

SEASON 1

Spinel’s arc starts in “Bubble Buddies,” in which Spinel is jealous of Connie

Man of the Mountain

Spinel feels she and Steven are drifting apart, and decides to try and get close to him again. They play in her room in the Temple, sending Steven off on a quest as a knight (which can be played on when Connie steps into that role irl). During it, things go too far and she has to rescue Steven. They had fun, though, and he confirms for her that they’re still close.

Giant Woman

Not worthy to make an entire ep out of, but basically, Spinel CAN go with Garnet to get the Earth Beetle. Spinel can swim in lava, just not for as long as Garnet can. She’s meant to be backup.

So Close

After “Giant Woman,” Steven stages another adventure to try and get Amethyst and Spinel to fuse, too, just like what happened with Pearl and Amethyst, but spoiler alert, it doesn’t happen. Instead, we learn that their arguments started when Steven was born, which kinda begins his self-blame and awareness of his family’s tensions even more so than “Giant Woman,” wherein he was mostly focused on himself rather than his family getting along. “Emotional hell” episode.

Steven the Sword-Fighter

Spinel grabs Pearl’s gem before it hits the ground with her elastic abilities, and basically stands vigil by it while waiting for her to reform. She sasses Holo-Pearl, insulting her, and in this scenario, Spinel is the one to accidentally start a fight with the thing. Steven, not wanting another family member to get hurt because of it, tries to help out and ultimately defeats the hologram. Spinel remained by Pearl’s gem the whole time, though attacked from a distance. Once Pearl reforms, Spinel hugs her and doesn’t stop until sometime after the star has crossed the screen and ended the episode.

This Just In

Just a fun one. :)

Parody of Scooby-Doo! Spinel starts narrating everything and breaking the fourth wall while she does it, too, creating drama (and giving a reason for the title to be just that).

Mirror Gem

Spinel walks in on Steven setting up a school and gawks, asking why he would want to do that? She went to school back in the 1930’s and it was terrible. When Pearl suggests the mirror, Spinel is just as in awe of it as Steven, showing that she doesn’t know what it is. She is with the two of them all day, and is delighted to find a friend in the “defective” mirror. When Steven wants to tell the gems, Spinel insists that it’s a bad idea, but poor Season 1 Steven doesn’t pick up on her nervousness and tells them anyway. As things tense, Spinel runs to Pearl, trying to tell her that it’s okay, the mirror isn’t a threat, but all this does is separate her from Steven when Garnet tries to take the mirror from him. He runs out alone, and all the gems run out to try and find him. Same plays out as he sets Lapis free. She then yells at the OG3 for knowing she was in there, but not letting her go. She offers Steven and Spinel to go “home” with her, which Spinel knows what she means and refuses. She offers instead to have Lapis stay on Earth, where they’re safe from Homeworld’s cruelty. Lapis refuses, tells them both not to trust the OG3, and walks into the ocean. Spinel is hurt that they didn’t mention Lapis to her, but doesn’t say anything (for fear of what happened between her and Pink).

Secret Team

As Steven, Pearl, and Amethyst run around the Temple fixing their mistakes, Steven stumbles across Spinel. She asks what he’s doing, to which Steven responds “nothing!” and keeps searching. Spins is suspicious, but again, says nothing. She hears Garnet’s speech at the end, though, and realizes that they were keeping secrets from her again.

Left Behind

Spinel calls everyone together, and says she knows everyone is keeping stuff from her. She inquires what that might be, and when no one speaks up, decides to create her own. She enlists Steven’s help, and together, they start creating secrets to keep from the gems. It escalates until it’s just Amethyst, though (as Garnet has future vision and Spinel just can’t do that to Pearl), and Amethyst is aware of it. She calls Spinel out, the others telling her that she has to stop, and she confesses that she feels betrayed because of the whole Lapis thing, then the Secret Team thing. Garnet tells her in her most gentle voice that Spinel couldn’t handle that kind of information, to which Spinel realizes that they don’t trust her. She runs off. Garnet tells Steven she’ll bounce back and get over it, but he follows her anyway. He finds her, just in time to hear her sing about feeling left out in the group. He walks up to her and tells her he feels the same way, and that if she wants to be with them, she’s just gotta try harder. That’s what he does. Spinel agrees, and the ep ends on a bittersweet note.

Fusion Cuisine

Zoisite is teased, as when Steven tries to bring his whole family, that means Spinel too, but because of Amethyst’s and Spinel’s tense relationship, the fusion fails. Instead, she’s left behind again (as Connie mentioned nothing about a sister…), and Alexandrite goes instead. Then it plays out the same way.

Warp Tour

In a bout of pure betrayal Spinel ultimately sides with the Gems instead of Steven, singling him out from the group. She agrees Steven is being silly. However, she stays with him as he stays up, trying to get him to take his mind off stuff. He refuses, and she gives up, heading back into the Temple. If he wants to play, he’s welcome to. Just give a knock. Then it plays out the same way.

The Test

Spinel’s room features a few funky, funny, not-quite booby traps. A cage comes down and nearly traps him (though like the spikes in Garnet’s room, would stop before it actually hit or trapped him), he has to jump around on a few platforms out of the reach of what looks like octopus tentacles, and then he lands in a ball pit after jumping off the platform. Finally, it’s a riddle to guess which door was correct, to which there are three doors, meaning three answers. Each door leads out, but Spinel makes it seem like there’s a pitfall trap in front of each to make it matter. Steven gets the answer right (the answer being a rabbit), and moves on to Garnet’s room. During the gem’s talk, Spinel insists that giving him an actual win would be a lot better, but Pearl states instead that this would work the same way. As long as he can do this, it’ll raise his confidence. Spinel agrees with Amethyst’s assessment of “we’re bad at this,” and the conversation goes the same way, as does the episode.

The Mountain Spire

After the episode “Horror Club,” Garnet discovers that due to two simultaneously occurring “earthquakes,” two Gem structures are bound to collapse. She and Amethyst take one, Pearl and Spinel take the other. Steven insists on coming along, and Garnet allows it. While walking, we see bird and rabbit imagery, as Steven goes on about how the last two times they were on an adventure like this, Opal happened! The other time, though, Amethyst and Spinel fought. But if Opal happened, then there was a chance something could happen this time, too, right? They arrive at a tall structure with pieces falling collapsing more by the second; the Mountain Spire. They have to replace to Sun Goddess statue, which was already up there. Steven’s now getting some flashbacks to a different adventure he was on, and now is determined to make sure he doesn’t mess this one up, too! Not a second time!

Spinel repeatedly runs ahead, appearing to be playing, when in actuality, she’s clearing the coast for Steven and Pearl. She constantly looks for Pearl’s approval. Pearl gets progressively more annoyed. Finally, she confronts Spinel about her behavior, stating that she doesn’t like the clinginess she’s been showing. It looks like it’ll escalate, but Spinel doesn’t try to argue with Pearl at all. She admits that she’s attached to her, maybe more than she should be, but that’s because she respects her. When Spinel was lost, who picked her up and showed her a home with the Crystal Gems? Pearl. She had always believed in Spinel, and Spinel just feels good being around her and being there for her. Pearl says she had no idea, and admits that she maybe has been a bit harsh on her lately, and they both come to peaceful understanding without Steven’s help. (Note: Spinel and Pearl are both lesser gems, and they can connect using that, too. Try to hint at that if possible.)

Climax: the statue has fallen, and the top of the spire is collapsing. The statue is about to fall through the floor (with many many many holes in it), and Spinel can’t reach that far without getting a bit wobbly, so she doesn’t want to risk reaching for it and causing it to fall. They need to be more careful. Spinel and Pearl fuse into Lepidolite. She is agile, stretchy, careful, and self-sacrificial to a fault. She leaps in, bouncing across the room and grabbing the statue before anything can happen to it. Then, the ground shakes again and the floor beneath Steven caves, causing him to fall. She catches him, but only just. She is stretched too far now (as her stretchiness isn’t as much as Spins on her own), and has to make a choice. A vacuum just like the one around the Sea Spire sucks Steven down, making her lose her grip on him, and she makes the decision to go for him rather than the building. She pulls, tossing him up and onto safe land, then falls. She tosses the statue back up to him, and he has to put it back. Once he has, the spire fixes itself, and Lepidolite is saved. She brings Steven down to her level (since they’re going down now), and jokes about the place being a fixer-upper, before unfusing. The three gems head back, mission successful.

Garnet and Amethyst were also able to fix their building, but their victory is short lived as Steven starts gushing about the fusion he saw. Pearl and Spinel smile at each other. Together, they are pretty great, huh?

Frienemies

After “Maximum Capacity.” Another episode to progress Spinel’s relationships with Connie and Amethyst. Connie comes over for the day, and Spinel insists that she hang out with them, too. Everything Connie does is “wrong,” and she leaves in a huff. When Steven offers to play video games with Spinel and Amethyst, the two start bickering with each other. A few days later, Connie comes back over and Steven tries to push Spinel away, but the gem refuses to leave the two alone. Connie confronts her, asking what he problem is. Connie has never done anything to Spinel before, right? We find out that Spinel has made it her mission to be Steven’s best friend, since that was Rose’s final request of her before she died, and both Amethyst and Connie are “getting in the way.” Connie sees through it and notes Spinel’s jealousy, insisting that he is still his own person, too. Spinel tries to retaliate, but Steven stands up for himself, saying anyone can be his friend and Spinel cannot decide that for him. If he’s Spinel’s best friend, cool, but he’s allowed to hang out with other people, too! Spinel is shocked into silence for a moment. All three others come to comfort her, empathizing about wanting a friend (Connie) and missing Rose (Amethyst). When Connie leaves, Spinel gives her an apology and asks if they’re on stable ground. Connie doesn’t know, but it’s a start. She leaves. Spinel smiles and hugs Steven, insisting she’ll try to do better.

The Return

Jasper and Spinel recognise each other. Spinel shakes with rage. Jasper says she’d be interested in taking Spins on again, just for the challenge, but Garnet jumps in before Spinel can answer, demanding Jasper leave this planet. Things mostly play out the same, except when Garnet gets poofed, Spinel acts immediately. She creates the illusion of a battlefield, masking her approach as she attacks from behind. Jasper, however, expects this, and catches her, throwing her into Pearl and Amethyst as they run closer. Jasper then grabs Steven and knocks him out, ending the episode. Jailbreak plays out the same way.

SEASON 2

Crossover Calamity

This would replace the Uncle Grandpa episode! It’s a goofy, non-canon ep in which Spinel and Amethyst visit different SU AUs together, all while fighting.

Starts off with Spinel raiding Amethyst’s room for her timepiece, since she got to keep it in “Steven and the Stevens”. She needs it for a game she’s playing. Amethyst catches her and the two fight over it. It winds up transporting them across dimensions instead of though time, and they wind up in a Steven Universe x Undertale crossover. They meet Steven and Frisk, and when Steven wonders what Amethyst is doing here and doesn’t recognise Spinel, it’s clear they’re not in the same timeline. They have to work together to get back, since the timepiece is cracked.

Next, they visit Bendy and the Ink Machine (since there is officially a crossover with that one now). They walk in on Bendy singing “Welcome Home”, and get attacked by the Ink Demon. They teleport away right as he’s about to catch them, transporting to an equally dangerous situation in a different AU. They run, going through a few more AUs until they wind up in canon SU, during “Other Friends.” They watch Spinel poof the gems, then leave, traumatized.

They end up in front of the Spinel House, where Spinel is instantly drawn to. Henry Stickmin reference! Her options are: Knock, Amethyst, Break In, Remove Layer, or Request Entry.

Knock: Is the correct answer. Spinel knocks on the door and is let in

Amethyst: Reference to Charles! Ames runs off-screen, shapeshifts into a helicopter, and crashes into the building. Fail line: Amethyst, flying in! :D ...You were expecting this, weren’t you?

Break In: Amethyst and Spinel concoct an elaborate plan to break in. It goes successfully, until they land in the middle of the room from crawling through the vents. The Spinels think they’re getting robbed and attack. Fail line: Everyone knows gravity only exists in cartoons when it’s least convenient, c’mon now.

Remove Layer: Animation/drawing joke. A tab is brought up showing all the layers in Ibis Paint, and the layer with the House is turned off. The spinels all stare at Star, and it end in a fail just like that. Fail line: You were supposed to get INTO the house, not make it disappear completely!

Request Entry: Meta joke! I suddenly show up out of nowhere and get pushed into the building to meet the directors and request that Spinel get added to the house. But my social anxiety to talk to them ruins this and I walk back out. Fail line: This is why people typically approach me first.

Back to business. Once Spinel has knocked and is let in, she meets the Spinels! It’s Spinel Hell for Amethyst, and she wants to get out of there as fast as possible. Joke about how the House is a place for Spinels to get away from the cruelty of their actual AU existence, and then ask if Star wants to join. She says no. Spinel asks if it’s possible to repair the timepiece, to which Rejuvenated or Spinny just slaps some duct tape on it and calls it good, sending Star!Spinel and Amethyst back on their way. It works, and they end up back on the beach. Spinel thanks the stars that’s over, and starts to walk off with the timepiece, ready to continue her game. But then Amethyst fights her for it, and they start crashing through several AUs, probably at dramatic/important parts and completely interrupting everything. Their final stand would be in either SU canon or breaking the fourth wall entirely and they exist on Tumblr or other social media accounts. They have a talk while fighting/playing keep-away, and reconcile. They teleport one final time and end back up on the beach. Amethyst decides it’s whatever and lets Spinel play with it, but she gives it back, claiming to not want it anymore. The two wind up dumping it in the ocean.

And that is why Spinel looks like a wreck. She smiles proudly at Steven as she finishes telling her story. He believes her until Garnet warps back in, asking her how training with Amethyst went after Ames threw her in the sea with her whip. Spinel groans, insisting Garnet ruined the mood. But then we go into the ocean, only to see that the dimension piece is actually there, at the bottom of the sea…

Optional: Spinel pulls a Genie and pulls up the bottom of the page, saying “Made you look!” Then the credits would roll with all the AUs present/used in the story.

Sworn to the Sword

Spinel teases Connie about wanting to train, but in a more light-hearted way that before. She is serious as she tries to warn Connie about Pearl’s teachings, insisting that Pearl could go extreme sometimes, but Connie ignores her, insisting it’ll be okay. The rest of the episode plays out the same, except when Spinel finds out Connie fell for Connie’s teachings, she remarks that she tried to tell her, earning her a glare from Steven. “Just sayin’,” she says, shrugging, but her concern is evident. Rest of the ep is the same.

We Need to Talk

Spinel was doing the filming on the tape Greg and the band was recording, and her cinematography (due to her stretchy limbs) is amazing. She gets along with Greg very well, and thinks he and Rose are cute together. She does join Pearl in teasing him, but her teasing is much more light-hearted than Pearl’s salty, “you’re just a phase” teasing. She is Rose’s best friend, and she doesn’t think Greg can change that. At the end of the episode, though, she is fearful that she was wrong, and Rose and Greg might be closer than any of the other gems to her. She and Pearl share a fearful glance.

Time and Place

The gems are on a mission to recover an object somewhere inside a volcano. Spinel goofs off with Steven, and Garnet commands them to stop. This place is dangerous. Steven stops, but Spinel persists, continuing to make faces and perform silly stunts to try and get him to smile. She does a dramatic flip into a stalactite, bouncing off of it and landing in front of Steven with a “tadaa!” The stalactite cracks and falls, blocking the corruption they’re trying to get to away and nearly getting everyone else hurt or poofed. Spinel herself falls into the lava, but climbs back out perfectly fine. Garnet benches her, insisting that she be more responsible and serious, comparing her to Steven and driving a rift between them unintentionally. Afterwards, Spinel tries to show responsibility as things run awry in the house- the house gets messy and she cleans it, the fridge stops running and she plugs it in, the heater was working in overdrive so she shuts it off. It comes to a climax as a corrupted gem, the same one they were after in the volcano, suddenly warps into the house and wreaks havoc. It’s revealed she caused everything, and after the gem is dealt with, Spinel apologizes, saying that hey, at least she dug the guy out of the rock fall! Garnet doesn’t unbench her, though, and insists that she needs to show real responsibility and start taking things seriously. Steven comes over to comfort her, saying that there is a time and a place for this kind of behavior, and the volcano wasn’t it. She nods, accepting that.

Chille Tid

Spinel is still benched, and so was waiting for everyone at the beach house. She stays behind for the slumber party, though Amethyst and Steven have to team up to make sure she doesn’t go in the Temple. This is because, when Spinel starts dreaming, her illusion powers kick in and she starts showing what she’s dreaming. Tonight, she dreams of playing with Rose and Steven both inside her garden (foreshadowing the Rose/Pink reveal). This provides a bit of backstory for her, too. She’s awoken as Rose wilts away like an actual rose, and Steven vanishes. Her feet are wrapped in roots, and she sits up quickly only to see that the others had been watching.

She’s ecstatic to learn that Lapis is okay.

Amends

The gems leave for a mission, but Steven stays behind with the still-benched Spinel. He plans a full day of fun for the two of them! Later, they bump into Greg, who is just off of another hard day of work at the car wash, being kept on his toes recently. To relax, they decide to jam out together. At one point, Steven would ask how often Rose joined him (knowing that she’s sung with him at least once) and what she played. Greg responds, saying that she would play and sing with him often. Spinel interjects, commenting that the more she hung out with him, the less she was there for everyone else, and the more lonely Spinel got. She realizes she said that out loud, and dives head-first into apologies, throwing back to some of the things she said in Man of the Mountain (“don’t hate me” and “It won’t happen again” etc). Both Greg and Steven calm her down and ask what brought that on. We now find out that Spinel was abandoned a LOT in the past, but with the CGs, she felt better, but then Greg came along and she started feeling that way again. She hates being alone. She likes him, though, so she never said anything. She tries so hard not to blame Greg- he didn’t know. She never told him, or anyone, since that wasn’t a very nice thing to do and friends are nice to their friends (she’s actually scared of being screamed at like with what happened with Pink). Please don’t hate her? Greg insists that no, he doesn’t, and that he’s sorry he didn’t realize. She’s sorry, too. Steven speaks up, stating that it was really brave of Spinel to tell them that, and to overcome her fear of them thinking less of her or something. He’s proud of her. She smiles at that.

The next day, Greg wakes up late (like, it’s NOON levels of late). He rushes outside to see Spinel doing his job for him at the car wash, and doing it quite well! Steven is there helping her. When asked what’s going on, Spinel states that she still felt bad for what happened yesterday and wanted to do something nice for Greg, so she took over the car wash for the day! She turned off his alarm so he could get some rest, and has been doing a good lot of the washing. She also gave the van itself a wash, and cleaned all the brushes inside. Greg, in awe, thanks her a lot and gives her a hug. He makes an offhand comment about her showing initiative like that, and how that responsibility was something he never expected from her. Garnet agrees, walking up behind them. Upon seeing the maroon gem, Spinel apologizes again for the volcano incident, and promises to do better. Garnet, having seen that Spinel is capable of taking control and responsibility, unbenches her. Spinel doesn’t stop helping Greg, though, and at the end of the day, they all get ice cream together. Fin.

Too Far

Peridot doesn’t know what to make of Spinel, not having ever even heard of her before. We find out she’s one-of-a-kind, built to be a best friend! She likes to be friends with everyone! Peridot states that she and Amethyst don’t get along, causing the pink gem to blush and run off.

Too Close (NEW FORM)

Spinel now tries to be Amethyst’s Best Friend, along with LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE where she can! It gets toxic quickly, and she more or less becomes Amethyst’s more-annoying personal Pearl for the day. Peridot is quick to point this out. Amethyst confronts her about it, and they have one last fight before Spinel finally starts to learn that you don’t have to give your everything in order to be a good friend (and stop pampering them GEEZ). That’s unhealthy. It’s obsessive. It can smother people! She needs to find a better balance! Spinel states that if she doesn’t give everything, then she feels like she’s lacking on her end, that she isn’t doing enough. If she isn’t by her friend’s side all the time, who’s to say they won’t get mad at her, or leave her? Steven points out how exhausted Spinel has become while taking care of everyone so obsessively. Amethyst agrees, stating that she cannot run herself ragged trying to do everything all at once. She insists that she’s okay, that she can keep going. She was built to be a friend, and she’s been slacking on her end. She’s not gonna stop until everyone around her is happy! She’ll prove it! She then runs away to make the Best Day Ever for everyone, but Amethyst chases her down, now determined to make her see sense. She tackles the other gem, telling her that if she truly wanted to be someone’s friend, she needed to calm down, back off, and respect their wishes to have her leave people alone! Spinel poofs, mostly from exhaustion, but also because she’s getting Pink Diamond flashbacks.

When she reforms, she walks up to Amethyst and apologizes. If being a friend means leaving people alone, then that was something she was going to have to work on. Being a friend isn’t gonna be easy, but she can try. Just let her know whenever they need her to leave? Amethyst says she’ll do so, and the two hug it out. While doing so, Spinel asks if they can start over, and try being friends again. Amethyst agrees, saying it’s worth a shot.

SEASON 3

Super Watermelon Island

With Spinel and Amethyst finally getting along, Zoisite can now be formed! The battle with Malachite still happens, but now featuring Spinel’s illusion powers and Lepidolite’s feather duster (for cartoony hyjinx).

Barn Mates

At the end of the episode, Spinel is super happy to finally see Lapis again, but surprising everyone, she doesn’t leap into Lapis’ arms or anything. She instead extends a hand to shake.

Hit the Diamond

Spinel plays referee and pitcher. While doing the lineup, she announces that her name is Sarah, or would Sandy be better? She’s shushed. Later, there’s a throw-away line about how if the CGs don’t win this match, she, Sandy, is quitting. She knows what’s gonna happen and isn’t gonna stick around to witness it. Someone smacks her for breaking the fourth wall.

Too Short to Ride

Spinel stretches out without shapeshifting, which makes Peridot even more upset that she can’t do it. During the shapeshifting part, Spinel becomes a dog and a rabbit, playing a game of chase with Amethyst.

Trapped

After “The New Lars”. The hunt for Jasper continues, but Spinel and Steven take a break to go visit Peridot and Lapis. Steven and Peri hang out for a while before realizing that Spinel and Lapis are gone. They go looking for them, discovering them atop the silo. They’re laughing. Spinel apologizes for the whole mirror thing, saying that she knows what it’s like to be trapped and abandoned for years, too. Lapis says that it wasn’t her fault, it was Homeworld’s. Spinel says she knows that feel, having been the playmate of her old owner before she got left behind like a broken toy. She insists that Lapis had it worse, though, since she was forced to stay in one spot whereas Spinel chose to stay there, forever… Lapis tells her not to compare what they went through. They’re both hurt, and they can connect over it. That’s what’s important, not who had it worse. Spinel gives her a side hug, saying that she’s really glad Lapis is here. Steven and Peri decide to give them some privacy and leave, the other pair being none the wiser they were ever there.

Days pass, and the hunt continues. Pearl asks Steven if he’s seen Spinel, to which he says no. Garnet states that they need to find her and she warps them to the barn. There, Spinel and Lapis are continuing to hang out. Pearl is the first to scold, demanding to know where Spinel has been when they’re trying to find Jasper? Peridot hears this and tries to get Pearl to stop talking, but she doesn’t. That rogue gem is only going to cause trouble! Spinel feels awful, starting to apologize, but Lapis cuts her off. She insists that Spinel is always being left behind anyway, and has to constantly wear a smile to keep morale up, which makes her feel trapped, but here, she doesn’t have to do that! She’s free! She doesn’t have to be anyone’s friend here. So back off and leave her alone! Steven asks timidly if that’s true, to which Spinel nods.

She explains that she’s been trying to keep her distance, like Amethyst asked her to, but she feels like she isn’t being a good friend and is slacking off. That makes her stressed, because she knows her friends don’t want her around, so she kept coming here. She doesn’t have to be friends with Lapis or Peridot- that expectation was never there with them. She’s free to just relax here and get her mind off stuff. She didn’t mean to stay away for so long, but she thought no one wanted her there unless they had work for her to do. How can you be a friend if you stayed away? She had no idea, and it was so, so confusing. Spinel says that she was made to be a best friend to one person, and when that person sent her away, she felt lost. The same thing was happening again, and she didn’t know what to do. f

Lapis explains that she used to be a terriformer, shaping planets for her superiors forever and she wasn’t happy. But now, she feels much more free. Playing mediator, Steven builds on that, and explains that she shouldn’t have to feel like she needs to be friends with everyone. That’s an impossible task. If she needs to force it, then it isn’t friendship, and instead, is more just servitude. Lapis and Pearl both agree. Be friends with who you want. Who do you want to be friends with? Spinel thinks, hesitant to say her answer in fear she’ll make people angry, but everyone insists they won’t be. She says she wants to be friends with Steven, Amethyst, and Lapis for sure. She looks up to Pearl and Garnet, and they’re always gonna be family, and they can stay that way. For now. Everyone (sans Peri) hugs her, proud of her, before Peridot interrupts and announces that if she wants to be friends with Lapis, they’d have to fight over it. It looks like Spinel might fall back on old habits for a second before Peridot laughs, saying she was joking. There’s enough Lapis for both of them. Lapis, embarrassed, flies off. The ep ends as Spinel and Peridot look at each other in confusion, wondering what they said.

Together Again (formerly called “Camping”)

After “Restaurant Wars”. Spinel decides to take her friends camping! Lapis was “busy,” so it was just Amethyst and Steven with her. While out, they discover a corrupted gem, a quartz of some kind. She is a powerhouse and overruns everyone, then won’t leave them alone. The monster is big, and the group is in the mountains, so they slip into a small cave in the mountains where the beast can’t get them. As it walks away, Spinel sees the gem, located on its shoulder- it has a scratch in it. It’s 7TP. Her eyes flash in recognition, and she then tries to take it herself. She winds up pinned beneath the amethyst’s paw. She confesses that she knew the gem from the war, and it was one of her best friends. On the battlefield, the fight that occurred just before everyone was corrupted, 7TP got a scratch across her gem, not deep enough to count as a crack, but deep enough to be recognizable. They have to bubble her, quick! Steven and Amethyst get 7TP off Spinel and fighting ensues, but Spinel can’t bring herself to hurt her old friend now that she can put a face to the monster. Amethyst and Steven can’t take her alone, and at one point Amethyst is thrown down next to Spinel. The two agree that this isn’t working, and they fuse.

Lavender Alexite is a smaller, squishier version of Sugallite, now with 85% less visible muscle! Amethyst’s determination combines with Spinel’s frustration, and both of them together are able to bring the fusion down with their grappling hook-like weapon, tying her up and Lavender herself finishing the corruption off. Spinel bubbles her after Steven heals her, sending her off. Unprompted, she explains that when her old owner decided to get rid of her, 7TP was by her side. She’s been by Spinel’s side for so long. Refueled determination to heal corruption.

Note: Maybe mention 7TH at some point?

Monster Reunion

Spinel is shocked that the corruption could be healed as she was, but gives Steven space to be with Neph. At the end, she asks Steven if she could do that again, to which Garnet says no.

Healing Haze

Spinel goes up to Steven in the middle of the night to wake him up. She tells him that Garnet and the rest of the Gems are out on a mission trying to find Jasper, and they think that she’s exploring the desert. She drags him into the Bubble Room, brings down 7TP, and unbubbled her. Steven, having had no say in this (and was half-asleep until just now), freaks out. As 7TP is reforming, Spinel tells him to heal her before she wrecks the place and they both get in trouble! He does, slapping on some healing spit, and 7TP half uncorrupts. Spinel cautiously approaches, asking if the gem remembers her. She shapeshifts back into her War design, to which the gem now recognizes her. Spinel starts calling her Violet. Violet starts to freak out, realizing she’s been corrupted, and rushes to look at her reflection. She’s shocked and dazed. Spinel calms her down enough to switch the topic over to Steven, gesturing for him to come on over. She introduces them to each other, and tells Violet that things will be okay now. However, just like with Nephrite, Violet eventually recorrupts. Spinel bubbles her again, then thanks Steven, giving him a crushing hug.

The next night, she asks the same thing from him. Seeing Spinel so happy the previous night makes Steven more willing to let the gem out this time, though he still isn’t completely onboard. But, they have fun anyway, until Violet recorrupts again.

They do this again and again, with Steven’s unease growing more and more. This feels wrong, and he tells Connie as much on the phone. Connie tells him that he needs to get Spinel to stop. They bubble those gems for a reason- so they don’t suffer. By letting her out, having her back for a while, only to have her become a monster again, over and over and over… that can’t be good for poor 7TP. What if that has some kind of long-term effects? They need to stop. Besides, getting poofed so many times must hurt, even if Violet does just accept it when the time comes. Steven agrees, and when Spinel inevitably comes up to him the next night, he tells her all that. Spinel is devastated, and tells him to go back to sleep.

He wakes up to Spinel yelling. He looks over and sees 7TP running out of the Temple, fully corrupted, with Spinel tearing after her from behind, waving a cloth. Steven asks what in blazes she’s doing, to which she replies that she took some of his spit while he was sleeping and put it on this here very cloth and she put that on the gem and it didn’t work! She’s still corrupted! Steven gets understandably upset, and now the goal becomes catching Violet, and fast!

They wind up bringing her in through music, with Spinel singing a lullaby to her (a nod to Blue Order). Steven can now heal her, but since she’s already formed, it doesn’t do anything. She’s aware enough to have a conversation with now that she’s calm, though (maybe?) and Spinel apologizes for everything. They poof and bubble her again, for good this time.

When the other gems get back in the morning, they ask what happened to the house. Spinel owns up to her mistakes, and accepts the fact that they’re gonna bench her again. Garnet tells her no- Spinel understood what she did was wrong and learned her lesson. 7TP will be better off in the bubble, for now. Spinel asks about, since Garnet has future vision, why didn’t she stop her from unbubbling Violet so many times? Garnet states simply that Spinel was going to learn her lesson, and this was the only way that she’d truly understand. Just words weren’t gonna work.

Catching Up

After “Alone at Sea,” Spinel decides to do something fun with Lapis just like they did with Peridot. Shorty Squad Assemble, now featuring Spinel and Lapis! They decide to spend a day wherever Lapis wanted to be, which for now, was the barn. Understandable.

Next step, make Lapis a bootleg Funland! They all set up a bunch of fun activities around the barn, including a ring toss, a bean bag toss, a dance floor (with a radio), and water balloons! There’s also a game of baseball if people wanna play.

It’s a cute ep that is filled with fluff until, after a while, Lapis keeps zoning out. Steven, Peri, and Spins all try to keep her distracted, but Amethyst is the one who eventually steps up and tells Lapis to just spit it out. Lapis explains that Jasper has been on her mind, and she appreciates what everyone is doing for her- it has truly been fun- but it’s not working. Everything that happened on the boat is fresh in her mind, and she honestly just wants to be alone while she processes everything. Sorry for being a downer. She flies back into the barn.

Spinel and Steven go after her, though Amethyst and Peridot agree it’s best to leave her alone. The two find her on the top floor, and inch closer. Spinel tells her that she shouldn’t be alone to think about this kind of thing- being alone sucks. They both should know that by now. Steven asks if she wants to talk about it. Lapis says no. She appreciates the sentiment, really, but she needs to figure things out alone. They don’t know what it’s like to battle Jasper constantly, how tiring being stuck with her is. Spinel pipes up, saying that although that’s true, she does know what it’s like to fight Jasper. It was 5,300 years ago. They met on the battlefield, and she nearly got shattered that day. She recounts the story. She never had someone to talk to about it, and she thought that she couldn’t, since she was supposed to be everyone’s friend, their relief. But that’s not how it works. Right? It goes both ways? So don’t be silent.

Lapis says that she just doesn’t want to talk about it. There are things that happened down there that she doesn’t really want anyone to know about, and she wants to keep it down. Though, again, she really appreciates the sentiment. Steven and Spinel leave, then meet up with the guys down below.

They play baseball for a while, two on two, before someone hits the ball super far away. Lapis comes back with it, saying she’ll talk when she’s ready, but for now, let’s just have fun. Ends on a lighter note.

Bismuth

Spinel is almost as happy to see Bis as Pearl! Almost. Her weapon upgrade is a serrated blade. While sparring, Spinel turns on the illusion powers, then bounces around her like a ping pong ball. She attacks from behind, but Bismuth, expecting this, catches her. She shoves Spinel away, making room for Pearl to then come in! The rest is the same. Spinel clings to Pearl when Bis is bubbled away.

SEASON 4

Know Your Fusion

Garnet + Spinel fusion as well? Just for a moment? Pearl could take Sardonyx’s place while she’s gone. Spins would likely point out that she’s never fused with Garnet before, and since we’re meetin’ new fusions anyways, could it be cool to add one more to the roster?

Think more about the idea before declaring it canon. Don’t take away from characters, remember? This might not fit into 11 minutes, or maybe make it double length? Two parter? Think about it.

Return to Mask Island

After “Future Boy Zoltron”, Spinel tells Steven she’s convinced Lapis to hang out with them for a day! Steven decides to take the party to Mask Island, since it’s such a pretty place and would be good for unwinding. Lapis is nervous, since the last time she was here, she was Malachite. Whoops. Steven and Spinel both insist this will be good for her, since she wants to get over her past trauma of being fused with Jasper, and balancing some good memories into the mix of bad will do her some good! Amethyst agrees, so Lapis gives in. Steven tells her that fusion feels amazing, but only with the right people. They make camp, and montage of them having fun and unwinding. Show something slinking in the water.

Eventually, Steven breaks out the s’mores supplies. He and Amethyst really start talking, and they don’t really notice when Lapis and Spinel get up. They run out of crackers, and Amethyst volunteers to get more, only to then notice that half their party is gone. Steven will find them, and Ames runs off.

Four Gems and a Baby

Steven was intended to be Spinel’s new Best Friend so she thinks of him as a fellow Spinel playing a game with them at the moment. Like Ames said, being a baby was fun, so this must be going somewhere. Rose said he was gonna be a friend. So that’s what he was.

Ruby Round-Up

Mission: Find and Locate All Ruby Guards

After “Storm in the Room.” Everyone heads back out into space to see if we can’t find the Rubies. We are able to find Army, Leggy, and Doc before Doc calls the cops on us and a Homeworld ship shows up. We find out more about Gem technology, namely that you can only go a straight line while using the gravity engine, so in theory, the other ship can track them. They need a safe place to hide. Spinel takes over the controls, and she takes them to the solar system with the Garden in it.

The whole time, Army and Doc don’t make it easy to escape. They keep making this harder for them to drive, having broken many parts of the ship in an effort to get it to stall, and the other gems have to leave Spins alone to drive while they make sure the three Rubies don’t cause any more trouble.

They hide the ship behind one of the smaller planets/moons floating there, shutting off the engine to help prevent being tracked/seen. The other ship zips right on past, missing them entierly. They power the ship back on, and land on the centerpiece.

The episode ends with everyone stepping out, and Spinel introducing them to the Garden.

Right Where You Left It

We visit one of the gem’s childhood homes…

Spinel takes on the grand tour of the garden, hoping to find parts and pieces to fix up the Roaming Eye. The three Rubies are put in time-out. We see the inside of the room, where Pink’s Biopoison Injector awaits, along with a line of rejuvenators. We also meet the cautious Coral and the untrustful Amber. Coral is in charge of all the plants, whereas Amber is in charge of making sure the buildings don’t collapse, but they only are supposed to be at work when they’re called. No one has called for thousands of years, and they’re too scared to go investigate. Spinel left a while ago, too, giving them zero reason to go out there. If an elite saw them, they could risk being shattered since no one wants them anymore. Where do useless gems go?

The two wind up telling them about the biopoison, and how it was made just for this garden when Pink finally decided she was done with it forever. The rejuvenators were meant to reset a gem, but Pink decommissioned them after a single use. Yellow has more.

They ask Spinel if she’s back to stay, also where is Pink Diamond? This is where we find out Spins and Pearl belonged to Pink. She’s gone, Spins says, and no, she’s not staying here. Do they want to go with them to Earth? After some thought Coral and Amber decide no- the threat of shattering is really scary, and they can’t fight back. They don’t even have gem weapons. Spinel tells them that she didn’t either, until her friend made her one! She pulls out her scythe. They could come along, too. The Earth is a beautiful place. They agree reluctantly, but then state that they don’t want to be a part of anything; if Earth is a place to be free, then they want to explore, maybe fix up or tidy up some Gem ruins there. Fighting is not an option, and they’re tired of staying in one spot.

The others agree, and Spinel apologizes for not paying them more attention when they were here together. She has a history of only focusing on what she wants to focus on, and ignores everything else. All is forgiven, and it’s back to Earth we go now that the ship is prepared.

The three Rubies manage to escape and warp back to Homeworld...

They're around lena's age, homeless, & hang around the houseboat (pre-season 1), stealing from nearby markets & ships but never the Ducks', which makes the community sus of the family. Y/n tries to apologize for this by sneaking some stolen food/gift aboard the boat, but gets caught, & then Donald is like "whoa, that's a child"? ADHD doesn't have 2 b a huge part of the plot, just little things!

It's also like 99% exposition and 0% what was asked of me because I am a wee bit special (over exaggeration. it's at least a 90% to 10% ratio). Anyway I'm begging for forgiveness thanks.

[Y/N] stared out at the ocean keeping them away from what mysterious things were just beyond the horizon. Perhaps there were folk dressed in sparkles or covered in faux fur on top of their fur (odd, isn’t it?). Perhaps there were Norse Gods, or the Loch Ness Monster was out there. They have always wanted to adventure and explore the world outside of the cage called Duckburg, Calisota. It was a small little town, basically owned by the “Richest Duck in The World”, Scrooge McDuck, himself. A small little hole-in-the-wall business here and there would be owned by his greatest and most bitter rival, Flintheart Glomgold and the junkyard was owned by Ma Beagle, a bitter villain, and the Beagle Boys. [Y/N] scoffed as the names of the three most dastardly figures crossed their mind and haunted the streets of Duckburg. Times such as these ones, alone by the docks, they placed heavy blame on the owners of those names. They returned to the calming ocean waves sloshing in front of them. Off to the side, those same waves crawled up shore and longed to take the dry sand down with them.

The so-called “Richest Duck in The World” was so rich and so cheap that he would never spare a dime for his city’s homeless folk. He passed by them on the street without giving them a second thought or a dime. He let them scavenge for scraps of food and clothes day after day as needed. Even then, the shelters “provided” by the rich duck fell short. No room, no supplies for them because the problem was so significant in Duckburg. Yet the world preached about this place being the place of dreams. Wild dreams like acting, sailing, and having a home to live in. The homeless folk never seemed to show themselves, allowing for the biggest scam of all time.

Flintheart Glomgold was no better than his rival. He accumulated jewels and cash and revenue solely to beat Scrooge McDuck at his own game. He never would. Mister Glomgold was nothing more than a fraud, but at least he tossed them a dime once in a blue moon. Ma Beagle was another story–a strange story. They have a debt to Ma Beagle because they were caught rummaging through Ma’s junkyard for something one night. Food, more likely than not, and that didn’t fly with Ma. They ran a handful of errands for her every Monday in exchange for one meal–usually Monday nights meal. These errands were tedious and hard to complete. Every other meal and day of the week was on [Y/N].

The seagulls overhead screeched, searching for some poor soul with a sandwich in their hands. Seagulls loved to dive down and nearly rip someone’s hand off just to nibble at the poor soul’s sandwich and leave it not a moment later. They circled above them only to leave because they were rather uninteresting.

The ocean beyond the beach called their name. The dream of sailing the ocean blue was overwhelmingly fiction at this stage. [Y/N] glanced over at the boat sitting against the dock. The boat looked as though it could house a family, and they thought it house a lonely entrepreneur all but a few years back–only to find it housed a family of four. The folk living in the boathouse were kempt and inadvertently anti-social, save for when the boys make a friend or three and spending their time with those friends. They were younger than [Y/N] by a few years, couldn’t be more than a seven-year difference and couldn’t be less than a three-year difference. These folk were somewhat of a relief. They most likely didn’t even know [Y/N] didn’t exist, and that was far better than the folk that lived in Duckburg that knew them by name and still let them suffer. Or the folk that had too much money than they knew what to do with and willingly left [Y/N] to suffer. Or the folk that use homeless children and teenagers to their advantage–theft, petty crimes, and other small tasks that [Y/N] just so happened to be highly skilled in–you can forget about large tasks. Ha. But even those small tasks failed to keep their attention. Routine was boring.

[Y/N] tapped their hands against the boardwalk post, thoughtless for the first time this evening. The ocean slowly calmed down and the breeze rolled in. They stood up from the post and ran down to the beach as the sun began to set against the water, turning the water a dark blue and orange color where the sun sat. They could only dream of sharing the view with someone who cared about them. What a dream that is to have someone. They rocked back and forth in the sand and thought for a moment about making friends with the boys that live in the boat–maybe making friends would call attention to their situation and someone would care. Or maybe making friends would allow them to have a real meal. A real meal seems like the most distant memory, if there even is a memory of a real meal. [Y/N] no longer knows. Even having a friend seemed like a distant memory, they probably never even had a friend. What a lonely world.

They looked down at the sand that slowly enveloped their feet as if it were quicksand. But it wasn’t, quicksand being dangerous was a myth, wasn’t it? And it certainly wouldn’t be found in Calisota of all states, maybe more of the desert states that [Y/N] would love to avoid. Desert equals hot. Or was it that quicksand was found more in the tropical places? Quicksand would be wet, tropical places tend to be wet. Maybe the local library would have the answer to that one.

[Y/N] turned in the sand and faced the city of Duckburg. The city was pretty when the orange of the setting sun hit it from this angle. The buildings all had an orange tint–white was now a light orange, pink started to turn coral, blue began turning a grey-brown color. The birds were quick black blobs, whizzing past the skyline. They trudged back up the beach and glanced back at the boat. They almost felt bad for camping near the boat during the day, but the view was… stunning.

[Y/N] slowly climbed off the beach with a mission in mind. Going home. It wasn’t so fun in the dark. They kicked the sand off of their feet on the sidewalk then ran across the street.

“There goes the weird kid again.” The folk whispered as they crossed the three-way intersection.

“Quick, guard your belongings.” One guarded their belongings as [Y/N] walked past the outdoor restaurant tables.

“I bet those kids by the docks have their hands in this.” A couple leaned close together and murmured as they watched [Y/N] pass them with their hands in their pockets and no food in sight.

An elder spoke up. “That Donald Duck is not qualified to raise kids if he lets one of them go around thieving.”

Donald Duck. That’s a name to remember. They began to wonder if the whispers ever reached the ears of this Donald Duck character.

[Y/N] slunk into the alley between the newest Italian restaurant and the local coffee shop, both places usually had plenty of food simply tossed out back rather than thrown away properly or donated as they are required to be doing. Breads may have been stale, and pizzas have been burnt to a crisp and the extra’s on the menu ended up back here as well. The day felt different, almost as if something in the air had changed. Perhaps when the crazy scientist on the news station from the morning claimed to be making artificial air, he wasn’t joking. Air in a bottle would be weird. Flies circled the trash bags that have been sitting for days. [Y/N] watched them as they seemingly slowed down and paid close attention to them as they flew rhythmically.

They turned their attention to the slowly dimming orange light of the sun. As if hiding in an alley didn’t make the sun less vibrant already. [Y/N] watched as the folks elongated shadows disappeared to the left and right of the restaurant and coffee shop. They all seemed to be actively avoiding walking past the alley unless they were across the street. A lovely alley cat rattled a nearby trashcan as it ran up to [Y/N] begging them for their food. They would love to give the poor alley cat food, but they only found a few uncontaminated loaves of bread for themselves. The alley cate stared deep into their eyes. [Y/N] blinked and ripped their loaf in half and placed the half on the ground for the thin cat.

[Y/N] jumped at the sound of a heavy metal door hitting the back wall of the alley and the stray alley cat ran back behind the trashcans with their half of the loaf.

“Sir, the kid is back.” A barista holding trash bags yelled back into her building to her manager.

“Kid, I’ve told you, you can’t hang out back here.” The coffee shop manager stood in the doorway with his arms crossed.

[Y/N] blinked up at the manager with a mouthful of bread. “Sorry, I guess I forgot.”

“Go home.” He sighed.

[Y/N] pulled themselves up off the ground and scooped up the other loaf of bread that they saved. They walked back into the now blueish-grey city. Their eyes flicked towards the birds of the night flocking to their favorite tree to squawk at some unsuspecting night-time runners. They quickly turned their attention to a pair of squirrels running towards a bird-less tree. The night was rather dull and empty, unusual for a Thursday. If today even was Thursday. [Y/N] couldn’t remember what they said the date was on the news this morning when they spent their last wad of cash on breakfast, in fact the only thing they remember from the news was that weird scientist and his air in a bottle.

They began their walk towards their makeshift shelter behind the abandoned mini mall (those strips of small business complexes that were “malls” because they had mall-type stores before malls became large indoor shopping centers–or more recently outdoor malls with the shape of indoor malls but were outdoor strips like strip malls). [Y/N] used to sleep inside the old mom-and-pop owned mattress store on one of the beds that was left behind when the strip went bankrupt from Scrooge McDuck’s unnecessary rent cost. Recently, one of Scrooge McDuck’s businesses bought the complex and cleared out each of the buildings, leaving them with nothing inside and no more inside access by changing the locks upon purchase. [Y/N] had no choice but to make themselves a shelter outside of the mall where no one would bother them as it is technically still abandoned as far as the city cares.

The makeshift shelter consisted of an old sleeping bag that they stole from a sports store–apparently camping is a sport, a makeshift tent made from stilts, blankets, and nails. The tent was really only there to ensure that no one would steal the few things that they owned. A bookbag full of clothes, a small selection of pocketknives, and a pot for cooking. Wood for building a very small flame was gathered depending on whether or not it was needed for food–typically the nights they would sneak onto the ships that sailed into the docks to import goods and fish. Fish at the docks was far from sushi-grade salmon; cooked or suffer the consequences. The boats that sailed in sometimes weren’t unloaded until the following day because they were essentially giant fridges inside, so at least they had that advantage compared to the market and the city shops. The market that surrounded the dock was a bit of a gamble to steal from because it had to be done in broad daylight.

[Y/N] sat down on their sleeping bag and bounded their legs against their feet like butterfly wings flapping–not to be confused with a moth. Not sure why those two things would be confused but butterflies are more pleasing to look at. Moths are terrifying. Their mind wandered to this Donald Duck character. Did he own the boat at the docks that they hung around? If so, why would the folk accuse him of having been involved with their scheme to eat? If he did own the boat, did he catch wind of the accusations? If he ever met them, would he be mad at them?

They laid back and smack their hands to their head in distress. They shook their head and laughed at those pesky thoughts. Somedays it wasn’t just the words spoken aloud that never seemed to let anyone catch up with them, it was also the words spoken in thought that never seemed to allow [Y/N] to catch up.

[Y/N] smiled as they watched the early morning market stalls begin to open up. The fish stalls were closest to the docks and the water while the more agricultural stalls were closer to the land–neat and smart. They took a deep breath; waiting for the stall owners to quit paying attention was so hard. They tapped their foot against the wooden boards impatiently and suddenly they sprinted towards the most appealing fish stall: flat Calisota fish. Sanddabs! They slowed their pace and crouched alongside the front of the stall to remain mostly unseen by the owner who hadn’t notice them yet. They quickly reached into the front most bin of Sanddabs and grabbed two by the tail. [Y/N] dashed towards the agricultural stalls, almost got out scot-free and yet they slowed their pace as they neared the fruits and vegetables, distracted by the boat engine coughing in the distance.

“That kid stole fish!” A deep voice yelled behind them. Heavy footsteps pounded against the boards after them.

[Y/N] exhaled slowly and stared at the shaking boat in the distance. The engine suddenly stopped, and the sound of incoherent yelling floated towards them.

“Grab that kid!” A female voice rang. The sound of a body hitting the sturdy wood echoed behind them.

[Y/N] turned to face the voices that caught them in the act, only for a tight grip to envelope their arm, giving no wiggle room. They thrashed in the large fisherman’s hand, the groaned and grunted as they tried to pull themselves away. All to no avail and they gave themselves an Indian burn.

“Drop the fish, kid.” The fisherman loomed over them. The fisherman wore a yellow raincoat and a matching hat. He had a hook for a left hand and a scar over his left eye. [Y/N]’s imagination ran wild, the swore they saw a flash of lightening behind this monster of a living-thing.

“No way!” [Y/N] continued to wriggle in the fisherman’s grasp. They twisted their arm and tried to walk backwards to get away only for their hand to be unable to slip through the fisherman’s fist.

He shook his head. “Then you got to pay for them.” His voice drew the attention of the entire market. It was a deep, but scratchy voice. He sounded like one of those characters from a ghost story. The Fisherman! That’s a story [Y/N] could write about one day. A horror novel about a scary, tall, freakish boat dweller. A hook for a hand, a scar over one eye, and thirsty for… Blood!

“I don’t have anything, but I have to eat too!” They tried pulling themselves away from the fisherman by using their free hand to free their trapped hand. The fisherman’s grip was tight. Painful even. And no amount of struggle was getting them anywhere – the fisherman had delt with rascals like them before, obviously, and the fisherman was no doubt someone that used to go to the gym. [Y/N] dropped the bag of sanddab and grunted as they kept trying to pull away with some useless strategy. Their heels slid across the boards as they failed to pull back. “Come on! Let go! I’m starving!”

“That’s the dumb kid that hangs around the Duck’s houseboat. I bet you steal for them, you little thief.” A slender fisherwoman noted. She was tall and lanky. Her nails were as sharp as some of the cruel words she kept to herself. “You know, kid, you shouldn’t steal. It might get you into some real trouble someday.” She laughed a velvety maniacal laugh as she reached down and grabbed the fallen fish with her nails.

“Give those back! I stole them square!” [Y/N] thrashed.

The fisherman released them from their grasped and laughed as [Y/N] hurled themselves into the ground. “You didn’t get far enough to steal them square, kid. If that Duck fellow is smart, he’d teach you how to steal properly.” The fisherman poked his hook through the two fish and walked towards the stall they came from.

“Run on home, you don’t want the authorities involved, do you?” The fisherwoman offered her warning.

[Y/N] shook their head and pulled themselves to their feet.

“And tell your old man to quit sending you out here. It’s getting pretty old.” She mused.

“I don’t know the guy who lives in that stupid boat! I just want to eat, why won’t you folks believe me?” [Y/N] raised their voice.

The fisherwoman shook her head. “I’m not going to tell you to get lost again. If we see you around here again, the nice chief of police will deal with you, and you can say bye-bye to your family.”

[Y/N] rubbed their arm and stomped away. These folk don’t seem to listen! They don’t know the family in the boat, they just hang around that area. They’re not family to [Y/N]. But having a family does sound nice. They pace back and forth across the street.

What to do?

Do I steal from that family to prove to these folk that I’m not one of them? Do I let that family live without suffering from me thieving from them?

[Y/N] stopped in their tracks and watched the boat. The three boys ran off the boat yelling their goodbyes to their dad. They sighed and sat down on the curb. Their stomach was rumbling, and it was Fish Friday. It could easily be turned into Pizza Friday or Chicken Friday or something of the sorts, couldn’t it? It could, but they wanted Fish Friday. They didn’t want to keep missing out but sometimes they have to. [Y/N] picked up a white pebble and scraped it along the sizzling Calisota road. White streaks followed their hand movement. It’s a pebble but it draws like it is chalk. Weird. But today has to be Pizza Friday or something at this rate. The Italian restaurant doesn’t open until noon on Friday’s. It was a weird thought but if this family of four was getting hounded for their actions, how much trouble were they really causing? And is the dad a single dad? He must be, [Y/N] has never seen another adult leave or enter the boat. Slowly, they started to feel worse. A dad of three having to deal with the consequences of [Y/N]’s actions.

Ugh!

They continued to scrap the little pebble across the ground and felt as it shrunk. They bounced their legs–right, left, right, left–in rapid succession.

“Hey! What’s the big idea!” An incoherent voice shouted.

“Well, if it isn’t Donald Duck,” the fisherman chuckled. “Come to pick up your thieving brat?” The fisherman pointed at [Y/N].

The short duck, called Donald Duck, looked over at [Y/N]. “That’s not one of my boys.” He protested.

“You’re pulling my leg, Duck.” The fisherman crossed his arms. “You’re trying to tell me that that kid, sitting right there, isn’t yours? They play around the boat. I’ve never seen them anywhere else.”

“I only have three boys.” Donald began.

The fisherman put his hand up. “I don’t want to hear it, Duck. Until you straighten that kid you, your whole family isn’t allowed here. That means quit thieving. You hear?”

[Y/N] accidentally locked eyes with this Donald Duck character. They stood up and prepared for the worst confrontation of their life. Or so they thought. Their jittery brain moved their legs father than they could think of what to do next. They ran through the streets.

“Sorry!”

“’Scuse me!”

“My bad!”

[Y/N] ran through a crowd waiting for a bus and swerved between folk just simply walking. They ran in front of a couple of cyclists and nearly knocked them all down. [Y/N] huffed as they neared the empty public park. The climbed up the slide and hid in the peak. [Y/N] breathed heavily and leaned against the circular rocket wall.

Almost caught!

They squeezed their eyes shut. The “duck” who lived in the houseboat must be furious with them now. Getting him banned from the market because everyone there thinks they are one of his boys. There has to be something they can do.

[Y/N] scooted toward the slide and slid down. They sat at the end of the slid and looked around. Empty as it should be. They ran back to their makeshift shelter with a brilliant plan in mind, sneaking through their usual shortcuts between shops and businesses. Taking 7th Avenue versus taking 13th Avenue. Climbing an apartment buildings fire escape and jumping from fire escape to fire escape, then from rooftop to rooftop, until they reach the corner of Main and 2nd. They jumped from the roof of the pizzeria onto the large oak tree they planted outside of their building. [Y/N] climbed down the tree and walked toward the abandoned strip mall. That actually was not a shortcut, that took a lot longer than [Y/N] had hoped! Maybe they’re losing their touch or time itself is slowing down.

Like a curse!

Oh no, a curse!

[Y/N] walked toward the little strip mall and inhaled. They looked at themselves in the reflection of the dust covered glass. Tattered clothes, the graphic print was faded into near nothingness, hair was a knotted mess–hairbrushes were hard to find. [Y/N] turned around at the sight of a red aircraft taking off from nearby. They walked out from under the awning and watched the craft waver and stagger in the sky. They looked down at their clothes–the color was easier to see when looking down. Brown and blue. [Y/N] turned and walked around the building.

Home sweet h–awe man.

They came face to face with a notice on their tent–how gracious of the new building owners to let them know they only have today to remove themselves from the premises or they will be removed by force or by the authorities (which was by force but with extra steps). They laughed at the notice and crumpled it in their hands and dropped it at their feet. They grabbed their bag and slung it over their shoulder and rolled their sleeping bag up and secured it with three thinning rope pieces. The tent can stay, it’s not worth moving as they have no way to carry it or dismantle the stilt skeleton.

[Y/N] held their sleeping bag under their arm and slowly walked away from the building. They could check the homeless shelters again to see if there were any spaces for them now, or they could skip that and go straight to sleeping on the side of the roads again. They weighed their options and felt like the first option would just land them on the street automatically. It wasn’t so bad sleeping in the open but falling off of a bench definitely felt bad though.

[Y/N] walked on, falling out of touch with reality. They walked out to the docks where there was a single dinghy with their name on it. The SS [Y/N] was ready to set sail into the unknown. They breathed in the salty and fishy sea and threw their sleeping bag and bookbag over the side of the dinghy. [Y/N] looked behind them to take in one last look of Duckburg. The city skyline was bright, it was almost as if they could see everything. The colors of the taller buildings against the shorter ones. The clear avoidance of looking at Flintheart Glomgold and Scrooge McDuck’s buildings. They turned on their heel and climbed into the dinghy and set sail to who knows where! Adventure! Mystery! New life! And danger awaited them!

“YOU!” A scratchy voice called.

“Huh?” [Y/N] found themselves back in reality, walking past the public park yet again–no help from that so-called shortcut.

“Get back here!” The scratchy voice called again. “You need to stop causing trouble!”

[Y/N] stared at the duck from earlier. Run? Run. The answer was to run and avoid confrontation. They ran toward the park and ducked underneath the slide. The duck followed them into the park, yelling incoherently for them to stop running from him so that they could talk. Talking was most definitely[Y/N]’s strong suit but confrontation was not. They ran out from under the playground and toward the fence. [Y/N] came to a screeching halt at the fence. They peered through a crack between two panels. Sweet alleyway. They thew their sleeping bag over the top of the fence and quickly looked back at the angry, unintelligible duck chasing them. They jumped up and just barely grabbed the top of the fence. They started to swing their legs until they could get their heel over the top. Using their heel and their leg strength, [Y/N] threw themselves over the fence and landed on their sleeping bag with a thump.

“Oof–.”

[Y/N] dove into the alleyway and hid behind an empty dumpster. The duck that was chasing them ran straight into the fence with a thump and shouted some explicit words that they have only heard Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys use in public. The duck thumped his head against the fence softly and sighed.

“I just want to talk to you,” he said.

[Y/N] only held their breath and waited for the duck to disappear. They blinked at the wall in front of them and slowly slipped away from reality to imagine what catastrophe might occur of they came face to face with this crazy duck from the docks.

[Y/N] stood up and walked toward the fence. “Only if you move away from the fence. I’ll come back over.” They spoke slowly. They jumped up and peered over the top of the fence to see that the mysterious duck had backed away from the fence. “I’m coming back over. Watch out.” They said as a warning. [Y/N] swung their leg over the fence flawlessly and flipped themselves over. They landed on their feet as if they had been practicing fence jumping their entire life. They looked up at the duck–he was rather calm for having just screamed incoherently for what seemed like a very long time (well, save for the red flesh-tone poking out from underneath his feathers).

“What are you causing all kinds of trouble for, kid?” He restrained himself.

[Y/N] shrugged their shoulders. “I have to eat. This is how I eat.”

The duck stared at them. “You steal to eat? Where are you parents?”

[Y/N] sighed. “If I had any, do you think I’d be stealing?”

The duck remained silent; it was a valid point.

They outstretched their arms. “My clothes look like I pulled them out of a woodchipper, I don’t even have warm clothes because I can’t find any. I used to live behind the old mattress store, but I was told to leave by one of Scrooge McDuck’s stupid businesses or I’d be in serious trouble, and I don’t want to talk to any mean cops. I can’t even find a brush to brush my hair, okay? This is the reality!” Their voice strained.

“You don’t have any family anywhere?” He asked.

“None.” They spoke.

The duck fell silent again and pulled out a phone. “Someone needs to get involved. No kid should be out here like this.”

“No don’t do that!” They smacked the duck’s phone out of his hands.

In the blink of an eye, the entire police unit jumped out of the shadows and surrounded them.

[Y/N] gasped and hit their head against the wall of the building. They blinked and looked around at the alley. “Man, I’m good at making up scenarios that will never happen.” They whispered to themselves. [Y/N] got up and walked toward the fence again and peered through the crack between two panels. There was no one there. No one was waiting. No one was going to get involved. They sighed, relieved and hid back behind the dumpster for the night.

[Y/N] woke up to a black sky with specks of twinkling glitter. They sat up and rubbed their hands together–it was a little chilly without the sleeping bag encasing them. They slung the bag over their shoulders and picked up their sleeping bag. They peered out of the crack in the fence again and saw nothing except for streetlights illuminating the park and a single raccoon racing its own shadow. They threw their sleeping bag back over the fence and groaned. Actually, they don’t even remember falling asleep–how did that happen?

Again, we go!

They jumped up and grabbed the top of the fence and swung their leg up a handful of times and whined. “This is so much easier in the movies!” They swung their leg up again until they finally got their foot over the top of the fence and flipped themselves over the fence. [Y/N] landed on their sleeping bag with a thump, they rolled off of the bag onto their side. They were so much better at this in their little fictional scenario…

Not cool.

They got up onto their feet.

About that brilliant idea I forgot about.

A gift! Yeah!

And ran toward the docks. The boats were at the docks. That was a good sign. That meant [Y/N] could get their hands on something delicious and raw. They ran across the shaky wooden dock and up to the side of the boat. They backed up, dropped their sleeping bag and bookbag close to the main dock building, and ran, giving themselves enough momentum to jump and land on the deck. And they did just that–sort of. They rolled on the deck and kept rolling until they were in front of the hatch. They opened the hatch. All fishing boats kept their catches below deck, for obvious reason, especially in these new prototype freezer boats. They peered down the now open hatch of the boat and stared down at the stored fish with the help of the moon. They jumped down and looked for the smallest crate of fish. They weaved through the barrels and ice coolers of freshly caught fish until they reached the crates of ready to sell fish. A single crate of five fish on ice wouldn’t hurt for them to miss, would it? It would be a great gift, right? [Y/N] grabbed the top crate and hauled it towards the open hatch. They set the crate down at their feet and turned back around. There has to be a lid somewhere. They ventured back into the freezer and looked around for something that resembled a lid. Most of what was down here were fish, full crates, and empty crates. They shuddered and walked back towards the open hatch and pulled the ladder down. [Y/N] picked the crate back up and climbed up the ladder with one hand and little to no balance.

Once they reached the deck the set the crate down on the deck and leaned over onto their stomach and crawled forward. They turned around and stuck their hand down the hatch and pulled the ladder back up as if they were never there. They then closed the hatch and jumped to their feet. [Y/N] grabbed the crate and held it with their arms over the fish just resting on top. Without much thought, [Y/N] ran in the direction of the dock jumped over the little boat wall onto the dock. They landed on their feet but lost their balance and fell backward.

“Ha-ha!” They laughed with pride. “Success!”

[Y/N] scrambled to their feet and walked towards their bags–now it’s just a game of carrying everything without dropping it all. They set the crate of fish down and slung their bookbag back over their shoulder and lifted held the crate of fish under their arm as if they were carrying a laundry basket and held their sleeping bag under their other arm. The ice will keep the fish cool for a while, but fish alone isn’t sufficient enough. There must be something else [Y/N] could give to the duck that lives in the houseboat.

They walked away from the market dock and back towards the quiet city. The streetlights illuminated everything. Flies, stray animals, wild animals, trash spilling out of the alleyways, and folk just like them. [Y/N] scurried past everything and everyone that focused on their crate of iced fish.

Gotta hide now.

Gotta get to one of those superstores.

[Y/N] turned the corner and started walking in the direction of Duckburg’s 24-hr superstore. The store is said to have it all: groceries, costumes, home appliances, furniture, technology, crafts, plants, and more. Crazy to think that a store could hold so much–terrible to think that it’s okay to be open 24-hrs. Yuck! Two gifts will always be better than one and this superstore is the best place to get another gift. Probably.

I have no idea what that boat dweller likes.

What would you get someone that you’ve inconvenienced?

[Y/N] stood on the barely occupied parking lot. “Oh, my God.” The store from the outside was huge. Now where were they going to hide their stuff while the looked to steal? They looked around the parking lot.

Open space.

More open space,

Oh look, bushes.

Wait, bushes!

[Y/N] slowly walked towards the far side of the parking lot the housed the bushes in question. The parking lot was very empty and dark along this side. No one seemed to park over in this direction and for some reason they didn’t install as many lights. Kind of convenient! Maybe the lack of lights is what caused there to be no cars? They picked up their pace as they were somehow moving too slow for their own liking. They set the crate of fish down in the bushes–more ice might be in order for these guys. [Y/N] set down their sleeping bag and untied the breaking ropes. They promptly emptied the contents of their bookbag onto the sleeping bag and rolled it back up in order to protect what little they owned. They rolled the sleeping bag back up and walked towards the store.

[Y/N] walked through the automatic sliding doors and was wowed instantly. The store went on for miles and miles! They looked around with large, surprised eyes and they smiled at how far back the walls go. They walked further into the store and followed the hanging signs. This section is clothes, this one is kitchen appliances. That one toward the back is electronics. [Y/N] has no idea what to look for in this disaster of a store–maybe they can find the arts and crafts section and make this duck something. They had no idea where to start their little gift hunting adventure. [Y/N] turned on their heel and walked toward the kitchen appliances. Pots and pans!

Grown-ups seem to have an endless supply of pots and pans. I am giving him fish so maybe I can give him new pots and pans for the fish.

[Y/N] stared at all of the different types of pans. Stainless Steel, Non-stick, Carbon Steel, Stone Earth, classic pans, double pans, and Iron pans! They are way in over their head right now. They had, however, heard that the newest fancy-folk restaurant uses the Stone Earth pans. If a restaurant uses something that means they’re good, right? They blinked at the ashy stone-colored pan set and grabbed it off of the hook and shrugged. A set of five should be good enough. They glanced to their sides to ensure no one was watching and stuffed the pans in their empty bookbag.

Ice, ice baby!

[Y/N] walked out of the aisle, lost. No idea where to find ice. They huffed and walked towards the front of the store where most grocery stores usually kept their ice. They were greeted with a sign on the ice cooler: “Ice temporarily unavailable at this location.” They groaned. With how early in the day it is, o other store was open and [Y/N] stole those fish for nothing! They stomped out of the store and snickered as they got out without any alarms wailing about a stolen product. [Y/N] continued to drag their feet as they walked all the way to where they had hidden their belongings.

[Y/N] climbed up the side of the houseboat with one arm and coughed out some water they had inhaled. They dropped the Stone-Earth pan set–wrapped in their sleeping bag to avoid getting drenched with salt water–over the ledge of the boat. They hurled themselves over the boat and lay on their side, coughing out ore water they have inhaled. Salt water does not taste that grand, it’s a zero-star review. [Y/N] rolled onto their hands and knees and slowly pulled themselves to their feet using the wall next to them. The boys had left about 40 minutes ago, and the Donald Duck character had left about 15 minutes ago. [Y/N] should be in the clear.

They unrolled their sleeping bag and pulled the pan set out. The packaging got a little wet but that wouldn’t hurt any of the pans, right? [Y/N] rolled the sleeping bag back up and secured it with their last surviving rope (not for long) and looped their hand through the rope, holding the knot as an extra safety measure. They walked along the deck until the found was they thought was a “front” door, it was probably just the door to the hull (the hull? The house part?). [Y/N] jiggled the doorknob–locked, as expected.

[Y/N] walked in circles wondering, now, how to sneak the gift through the door. They aren’t a magician, it’s not like they can snap their fingers and poof! The gift is inside.

“Why you–! What’s the big idea? What are you doing here?” The scratchy voice called out.

“Busted.” They whispered to themselves. “Maybe not.”

He angrily walked up and onto the boat. “What are–?”

[Y/N] held the set of pans in front of their face and squeezed their eyes shut. “This is for you. I know those folks at the dock have been giving you loads of trouble ‘cause of me and I thought I could give you something for it. I was hoping to leave it or that someone was home to take it for you. I didn’t mean the run from you yesterday. Those same folks were giving me trouble–that’s nothing new though.” They slowly lowered and pan and peered over it to view the duck before them.

“That’s… awfully kind of you.” Donald eyed them.

“I don’t want to be your enemy or have those folk make enemies out of you. It’s not right. I don’t know what they expect me to do. I still haven’t found a new place to sleep. And no one even listens to me. I can scream so loud about not being one of your kids, but they don’t hear me. Just ‘cause they see me by the water, they think I belong to you. I just like the way the water looks from over there.” [Y/N] motioned their head towards where they usually camp out in the day. “Your boats nice. I want to live on a boat one day–sail away from Duckburg and all the people here. There’s nothing for me here anyway, I just have no way of getting a boat right now. Here, take the gift.” They shoved the pans toward Donald.

Donald took the gift from their hand. “How’d you get these–actually don’t tell me.”

[Y/N] smiled up at Donald. “I hope they’re good. I heard that new fancy-folk restaurant up near Mister Glomgold’s building uses these types of pans. I thought that if a restaurant uses them, they must be really good. I didn’t really know what to get you to say that I’m sorry for causing all kinds of trouble. I really didn’t mean to be a pain.”

“Would you like to come in for brunch?” Donald asked.

[Y/N] shook their head. “I should leave you be. You must be busy and all. I’ve seen your boys around, they’re crazy. They must be so lucky that you put up with them. I wish I had someone to put up with me.” They flashed Donald a small smile and slowly walked off of the boat. “Oh!” They turned on their heels.

“Yes?” Donald nearly perked up as if they were going to change their mind.

“I promise not to cause trouble around here anymore. It’s not fair to you.” They turned back around and walked toward the city. Blocking out any sound that wasn’t the ocean or the screeching of the seagulls, they ran across the street with nothing to do and nowhere to go.

[Y/N] walked where their thoughts guided them: the police station. Surely that was a smart plan, an action plan. The stuck-up police can guide them in the right direction–more like take control of the situation. Was even walking in that direction smart anymore? [Y/N] paused across the street of the horrific police station. The grey building with black and blue accents and lightening behind it. Suddenly, the thought of using these folk for help was a bad thought and an even worse idea. They gulp and they ran across the street, having no regard for street laws. [Y/N] ran straight to the revolving doors and spun around them thrice for the sake of spinning a third time. They stumbled, partially dizzy, into the station and up to the front desk.

“Can you help?” They squeaked.

“Of course, what can I help you with, kiddo?” The officer at the front desk asked.

[Y/N] took a deep breath. “My names [Y/N] and I can’t find any room at any of the shelters. Is there any way you can help me with that?”

The officer furrowed his eyebrows in distress. “No room at the homeless shelter, ‘ey? Well, let me see if Officer Cabrera is available. Just between you and me, she might have to ship you out to one of the local orphanages–and they aren’t local.” The officer turned away from [Y/N] and lifted the phone.

[Y/N] stared, breathless. Orphanage. Out of Duckburg. For some reason that felt wrong to them now. It was practically a dream come true to get out of Duckburg, they just weren’t leaving on a boat. That glimmer of hope that that Donald Duck character had when they turned on their heel, what was all that about?

The officer faced [Y/N] again. “She’ll be back in about 30 minutes. She’s going to make some calls on her way here to get something sorted out. It’s a good thing you came by. How about I call for some lunch for you?”

[Y/N]’s eyes sparkled. “Lunch? I’m starving. Can I get some seafood? Oh, no! Maybe some sandwiches instead. I do also like pizza. I’m not going to lie; I really like a lot of foods.”

“Slow down. I was thinking pizza since they deliver. What toppings–?” The officer asked.

“Meat lovers! Or chicken, bacon, and ranch! Veggie pizzas are always good! Caprese pizzas are yummy! I can’t decide!” [Y/N] threw their arms over the front desk. “You can pick for me. I’m not picky. How nice is Officer Cabrera? Who is she calling?”

The officer raised his eyebrows as he watched [Y/N] move and talk a mile a minute. “Right, let’s go with cheese. And she’s, um, just making phone calls. Seeing if we can find out if you have family.” The officer paused.

“If I do, they’re not in Duckburg. And it’s not like they’ll just up and take me when they get a phone call. Folk, even family, don’t are all too much. I would know.” [Y/N] snarled. “Don’t even bother looking for any family, if I had any that cared they would’ve helped back when mom and dad–.” They paused as the tears started to form. The pushed away from the front desk and stomped over to the chairs.

“We’ll do everything we can to get you out of this situation, alright?” The officer changed their tone entirely. They voice was now soft and trying to express some level of understanding–the officer will never understand.

[Y/N] sat in the chair and kicked their feet up and swung them back down. They were frustrated, maybe even a little sad now, with even coming here. The officer wanted to help but family was not the way to start. They didn’t even want to know right away what might happen to them when that Officer Cabrera arrives, but the officer at the front desk told them anyway assuming that they wanted to know what was probably going to happen.

They wandered back to that Donald Duck character. Why did he want [Y/N] to stay for brunch? Was he going to call the cops? Did he just want to talk to them? Now [Y/N] wished they stayed back and found out.

“Wait!”

“Stop!”

“Huh?” [Y/N] turned around to see the same duck coming back into the picture for what seemed like the hundredth time.

“Donald Duck.” Officer Cabrera crossed her arms and watched the hot-headed duck approach them. “What are you doing here?”

Donald came to a screeching halt. “They’re my responsibility.” He huffed and pointed at [Y/N].

“Do you have legal proof?” Officer Cabrera asked.

Donald gulped and motioned for Officer Cabrera to step to the side with him.

[Y/N] stood in front of the police car with a slice of pizza in hand and the look of confusion written all over their face. They watched the adults whisper aggressively back and forth while motioning sporadically at [Y/N]. Words such as “homeless” and “proper care” and “orphanage” and “chance” were thrown around in haste. [Y/N] bobbed from heel to toe as they decided it was time to look up–literally, not figurately. Gloomy clouds started to roll over. A large flock of black dots flew strategically away from the clouds, presumably somewhere where they would be dry. The oncoming wind blew a few drops of grease down [Y/N]’s hand. Instinctively, they licked the grease drops.

Officer Cabrera shook her head as she returned to the police car. She clicked the keys and popped open the trunk. “Here’s what I bought today. Clothes and toiletries. I except to see you here next Monday for that meeting I’m going to be setting up.” Her expression quickly changes from hard to a sweet smile. “Until then, [Y/N], keep Mr. Duck here out of trouble for me.” She winked.

Donald tugged at his collar and let out a nervous laugh. He quickly grabbed they few plastic store bags of items for [Y/N] out of the trunk. “What do you mean keep me out of trouble?”

“We’ll see you Monday, Mr. Duck.” Officer Cabrera slammed the trunk shut and crossed her arms.

“What’s going on?” [Y/N] watched Donald walk past.

Donald looked over his shoulder. “Are you coming?”

[Y/N] jogged after Donald. “What are you doing?”

“I’m taking you home.” Donald said nonchalantly. “And on Monday I’m starting the process.”

[Y/N] raised their eyebrows. “What process? I don’t like when you grown-ups talk in riddles. Riddles never helped anyone! I don’t have a home, so I don’t understand where you’re taking me.” They followed close behind Donald and wiped their hands on their shirt to get the crumbs from their pizza off their hands. “Officer Cabrera was supposed to take me somewhere today.”

Donald nodded. “And I changed those plans. You’re coming home with me. On Monday, I have to start–.”

“Wait, wait, wait. Did you just kidnap me?” [Y/N] asked.

“No.”

[Y/N] narrowed their eyes. “Surprise adoption? It’s like kidnapping but legal.”

Donald blinked. “Surprise adoption?”

[Y/N] fist bumped. “Yes! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! Look out world, [Y/N] has a new home! And a new life!” They laughed. The laughed died out and [Y/N] sunk into their thoughts. They looked across the street at a mother and her two children. The children were like two peas in a pod. They then noticed a mother and a father and their two children getting along. [Y/N] shook their head and tried to focus on walking. But they couldn’t just walk. They thought about Donald’s three boys and if they would all get along. Their hands felt clammy, and they began to feel sick about the whole thing. What if because they were new, the boys didn’t like them? What if the boys just didn’t like them because they were causing trouble or because they were formerly homeless? What if? What if? What if?

“Gah!” [Y/N] threw their hands in the air. “What if they hate me?” They blurted out.

“Who?” Donald asked.

They forgot he was here… “Your boys! What if they hate me for being new? Or because I was causing trouble? Do they even know about me causing all that trouble? Do they even know that you’re bringing me home? I don’t want them to hate me for all that.” [Y/N] inhaled deeply. “I got so caught in you taking me with you that I didn’t even think about them.”

Donald stopped walking and turned to face [Y/N], who walked into him. “They won’t hate you. I’m sure they’ll just teach you new ways to cause trouble–that’s all they do.”

[Y/N] looked up and Donald and balled their fists. “Okay! Let’s go.”

“I’m surprised you understand me.” Donald said.

“Huh?” [Y/N] looked over at him.

Donald sighed. “I’m surprised you understand me.”

“What, with the talking thing? I understand you perfectly fine. Your voice sounds a little rough and earsplitting, but I can understand you fine.” [Y/N] ran up the boat ramp. “Is this boat magic? It looks so small from here. I bet it’s bigger on the inside, isn’t it?”

“That’s what the boys tell me.” Donald chuckled. He set [Y/N]’s bags down next to the door and pulled out his keys. He unlocked the door and turned on his heel to see that [Y/N] had grabbed their bags, ready to go downstairs. Donald led them down the stairs. “Are you alright sleeping on an air mattress tonight if I can’t get you a bed?”

“I’ll sleep on an air mattress forever. Which room?” [Y/N] started walking.

Donald pulled their bags out of their hands and walked towards the door intended for [Y/N]. [Y/N] pushed the door open and smiled at the room. A triple bunk tucked in one corner. Red was on the top, blue was in the middle, and green was on the bottom bunk. There was an air mattress just below the round window with bedsheets and pillows stacked high with an assortment of colors. The closet tucked away on the back wall as full and overflowing with blues. Next to the closet were three dressers. One was overflowing with greens and the other two were neat and nothing was spilling out. The floor was a disaster–toys and things and papers everywhere to the point they were swimming in stuff.

“Uncle Donald! We’re home.” One of the boys called.

“The far dresser is going to be yours.” Donald said.

[Y/N] dragged their bags toward the far dresser and pointed at it. “This one?” The set the bags of clothes and necessities down in front of the dresser and already began filling it haphazardly. “This is so cool.”

“Hey Uncle Donald, what’s going on?” Another one of the boys asked.

“Uncle Donald surprise adopted us a fourth sibling.” The third boy said. “I’m Dewey.”

[Y/N] paused in their tracks. “I’m [Y/N]. And you’re right, I was surprise adopted. I’m surprised!”

“These are my brothers, Huey, the red one and Louie, the green one.” Dewey introduced his siblings.

“Huey, Dewey, and Louie.” [Y/N] pointed at each triplet and listed who they were.

Donald stood in the doorway with his hand against his head. “It’s not really a surprise adoption.”
