His tone, a false pitying lilt, was on the verge of a chuckle.

“It’s quite an improvement, your silence, even if I had to break an arm and concuss you to achieve it.” It was surprising in the least, this other Spider-Man springing the trap instead of the one he held such a grudge with. But he was here now, and Otto was, not only curious, but tired of dealing with spiders everywhere he went. If he could understand their abilities more, he would stand an easier chance of putting them down quicker, and why not make a science project out of it?

“Or did your little head trauma cause some underlying brain damage? I wonder if I should open it up and see? Just to be sure?”

His stance, his tone, his movements. Everything about how Otto was standing, right in front of him, suggested he was deadly serious.

“You’re… not joking.”

It was true, he hadn’t entirely known what e’d been breaking with Slinky last reared his short angry head. How he’d screamed at Peter, yelled that if he destroyed it now, it would destroy them all. He’d obviously not listened, valuing the safety of the city over himself. As usual.

There had bigger things at stake. There always was.

“Wh..what day is it.”

“peter,” says the scientist again, as though he still can’t believe the other is standing before him. as though he’s trying to prove to them BOTH the boy is back, safe and sound. “you may need to sit down.”

rose removes his glasses. otto reaches up, to rub his fingers over his eyes. the smell of gunpowder of smoke is still thick on his gloves. he tries to ignore it. there are more important things than projects and mindless calculations. especially right now. now that peter’s back, that he’s safe.

“it’s... been about a year. a little more, i believe, since you disappeared.” shoulders rise and fall in a heavy breath. “it’s hard to tell the exact date, though. i never was good with keeping time. my phone’s over there.”

Okay so I wasn’t entirely kidding about Voodoo King of Scene Alastor being a guest star on this blog since I’ve been thinking about him since Friday night and itching to draw him. But since I’m moving around out west and not getting a ton of down time to do so, I’m info dumping random stuff about him on here in the meantime! 

You know how you go to a Punk Rock show or festival and you come across these guys and gals who are well into the Middle Age category yet when you look at them you just know that they haven’t adapted to the genre but rather they’ve always been power houses and the genre just built up around them? Yeah that’s this Alastor. 

Voodoo King of Scene Alastor’s favorite music genre is still jazz and swing, but he has also added more to his preferred music stylings including dub step, electro swing (no surprise there), punk, emo/goth, hard core, hypnagogic pop and just hypnagogic music in general, and others (haven’t narrowed others down just yet). 

His outfits have also changed with his main, formal style being the black ensemble of dress shirt (with sleeves rolled up most of the time), vest, belt, pants, and converse sneakers with a blood red tie. He can and will sometimes wear just a tie shirt or short sleeved dress shirt and black pants with either the converse sneaks or boots but that’s more for ‘Casual Friday’ like events. 

I kinda like the idea of him wearing a small ponytail too. (Shout out to whoever started Alastor with a ponytail trend!) 

His body-sans head and top half of neck- is covered with markings matching the sigils the other Alastors pull out when displeased or threatening others, and more. In his case, the markings actually lift up off his skin and glow in the air when he is displeased or threatening. Some marking will also move on their own on his body and can cause damage to others. (For example, snake markings can slither on his skin and bite someone touching him, leaving actual damage.) The markings can glow while still in his skin as well, and will glow under a black light. (He’s under black lights a lot.) 

One major part of his aesthetic is the neon, glowing colors and such you’ll see when putting certain paints and colors under black lights. He’ll paint a decorative skull design on his face that will only show up under a black light when attending a joint/scene/rave in part to appear threatening and in part because he’s a dork. 

He’ll jump around with the slang he uses ranging from the 1920s to modern day with the two mentioned being his most used. 

Voodoo King of Scene Alastor has adapted quite wonderfully to the developments in modern technology. He regularly broadcasts in FM, AM, XM, and has his own Podcasts too! He’s even moved into the areas of video making/vlogging and- just like with his radios and such- has learned the ins and outs of all technology he uses so he can trouble shoot and build his own and correct any problems he encounters. As such his powers have branched out beyond radios and sound based abilities, plus the nature ones from Voodoo and other religions he’s studied, to visual technology, programming, electrical surges, and.... Yeah, humanity’s doomed in his reality. Just accept it. You’ll feel better.

He also creates his own hypnagogic music and regularly will broadcast it, either as a place holder between segments or as part of the music collection. Those in Hell who are strong willed tend to find themselves coming down with headaches and a paranoid sense that someone is trying to break in around them-even if they’re in open spaces- when his music is played. Weaker willed individuals enter a trance and often times the more susceptible ones will never leave said trance. (This Alastor never wants for ‘assistants’ or ‘help’.)

This Alastor also is totally the one who waits all night outside Ikea until it opens and then racing through the store screaming like a Banshee solely for this product, of which he bought five. He also is the one who will randomly carry one around and cuddle it all day while also randomly attacking people with it and beating them unconscious while yelling ‘SNARKNADO!’

Voodoo King of Scene’s ultimate goals aren’t the usual ‘take over Hell’ ones other high rollers in Hell go for. If he learns that is someone’s goal, he’ll actually laugh at them and state that ‘Taking over Hell is too easy. You need to think bigger!’ His goals are more.... Extreme. He wants to gather a massive army of brain washed followers in Hell before ascending back onto Earth and repeating the process there before breaking into Heaven and overthrowing God. It’s not that he wants to rule or take over and rewrite the rules of the universe, but just... He loathes the current system and feels its very unfair to anyone who’s not... well, God. Plus, he wants the bragging rights and is stubborn. The second this goal popped into his head, he was like ‘NOPE I am making this happen! EVEN IF IT KILLS ME!’

That goal was why he approached Charlie in his reality; to see if her idea would work at all, gather more brain washed soldiers, and if it did work, see if he could play the system and slip into Heaven and if not at least Earth.

He also isn’t as affected as my main Alastor on this blog with the love phobia. He doesn’t have a flight-or-fight reaction kick in when just hearing the word, or even if someone is romanitically flirting with him. He’ll even jokingly flirt back. BUT actually allowing anyone to get that close does terrify him still and he will never actually back up anything he says.
