Snapthoughts! For snapshots 25w02a, 25w05a, and 25w06a
Sure has been a bit, huh? I wanted to group these three all together because of the somewhat similar features they all share! Even if I'm unable to pump out as many concepts like I originally made this account for- I do wanna get out Snapthoughts whenever I can!
25w02a
Firstly, and most importantly, the new pig variants! I really like the cold pig's flabby extra bits in particular, the change in model is something I appreciate and 100% makes it more unique than even the warm pig, aside from textures alone Other than the pigs, I really like the new ambience blocks introduced in this one. The falling leaves effect adds a lot of life to the forests, and the Leaf Litter does the same thing. But something I don't exactly like about Leaf Litter is how there's only a brown variant of it. I think there's a lot more you could do with Leaf Litter that showed leaves that are still alive instead of dead ones. Still a cool decoration block, though, don't get me wrong! The Wildflowers are a good example of what I mean actually- They provide amazing life to the birch forests that actually do a good job in making it feel properly alive. Another phenomenal decoration block.
25w05a
The new cows!!! Not just the cold and warm versions, but the new model with the new muzzle! I never realized how much I wanted the snout of the cow to be extended, and now that it is it looks so much more complete as a model (alongside the updated textures making it look better too). As for the new variants, I think I like cold variant more than I like the warm. To me the warm variant looks like a weirdly skinned cow, although I really like its horns compared to the warm cow. The warm cow is my favorite though because it reminds me a lot of the Wooly Cow, and anything that reminds me of Minecraft's short-lived spinoffs makes me happy. The new ambience blocks in the form of the Bush and the Firefly Bush are also AWESOME dude- The Firefly is back!! Even if in a lesser form. I'm surprised it took more than a decade and a half for something simply named "Bush" to be added to the game, so that part's a little funny. The new ambience is also another thing in this Snapshot I didn't know I needed but wholly enjoy now that it's in here. The way it works being dependent on blocks and what they're touching too (which is something I still don't fully understand tbh) is really cool and makes artificially creating it easy for certain builds people may wanna do, which is something I'm glad Mojang accounted for.
25w06a
The new chickens are something I expected, but their new textures and accompanying new features are not. EASILY the best new chicken of the two is the cold chicken, the new feather colors and crown is amazing and makes it pretty much the exact opposite of the temperate chicken, which is good by me. The warm chicken is good too I guess- I like the cold chicken a lot more though. The new eggs, though, that was not something I imagined would be happening. The brown egg and blue egg is a good thing, don't get me wrong- Guaranteeing a way to get chickens outside of going to the biome they spawn in is a very welcome feature. I just didn't expect it. The new Dry Grasses too! The Short Dry Grass being shorter than the normal Short Grass and the Tall Dry Grass being just as tall as the Short Grass is a neat detail too! Giving more life to the deserts (and ambience in other places too) seems to be a theme of this drop. And the Cactus Flowers are gorgeous. I love them. There isn't a lot more to say about them- The precautions they took to not have them break cactus farms are probably really helpful too, but I don't use farms- A very nice bow to tie off this one!

Heartbreak is tough. To say the very least. On best case scenarios, we are able to cope with the pain that comes with it and are able to give ourselves the patience and space we need to hurt, grieve, process and begin to heal. On worst case scenarios, our entire world seems to shatter before our eyes and the psychological, emotional and even physical pain that comes with it makes the most mundane of activities appear like colossal challenges. During this time, what has been the best piece of advice that you’ve received? ⭐️ I’m trying something new here at The Artidote (so new that I don’t have a name for this segment yet). Sometimes I receive a wave of DMs or SnapThoughts from people across the world who, coincidentally, are dealing with similar struggles. Recently, I’ve received many messages from people who are currently suffering through the pain of a breakup. Since I can’t provide individual advice or helpful tips to everyone that messages me, what I would normally do is prepare a post that addresses those issues. (That’s my little secret of why sometimes the posts feel so relatable and timely; it’s my attempt at nurturing the needs of our community). ⭐️ But today I’m curious of what would happen if I open up a question so that we could all collectively help in healing each other with our answers and experience. Let’s see where this goes :) Much love, —@jovaferreyra https://www.instagram.com/p/BrNEGeBg9eX/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=114mj0dncb6yf

Snapthoughts - Snapshot 23w17a
The major thing of note here is the new music disc provided to us by Aaron Cherof, “Relic”. I’m listening to it right now as I write this, and I gotta say, it honestly encapsulates that nostalgic feel that the original C418 tracks give me. Maybe something about the way it’s scored and the instruments? I have no idea, but still, it’s an amazing feeling. Like reliving my own past.
As for the less huge things, Mojang’s using a new font system that allows for so many more special characters! Things like Chinese symbols are now very easily able to be used, which I think opens up the door to a lot more special signs and texts! Coincides well with the recent acceptance of almost all nationalities on the QSMP.
There’s also been the addition of an entire seven new Advancements! I’ll split them up into different sections.
Starting with the three relating to the Sniffers and their prehistoric menu: Getting your hands on a Sniffer Egg gets you “Smells Interesting”, feeding Torchflower Seeds to a baby Snifflet gets you “Little Sniffs”, and planting said Torchflower Seeds gets you “Planting The Past” (This might also work for Pitcher Pods, although I didn’t test it)
The next two Advancements relate to the Sherds. Digging up a Sherd gets you “Respecting The Remnants” and crafting a pot from Sherds gets you “Careful Restoration”.
These last two relate to Armor Trims! Crafting your first Trimmed-up Armor gets you “Crafting a New Look”, and this next one is a bit more complicated. You must have every special Armor Trim (the ones with the special textures like Snout or Silence) in your inventory while crafting a Trimmed Armor piece, which results in the “Smithing with Style” Advancement.
Also, I believe there might’ve been a few changes to the Trail Ruins structures? I’m not entirely sure, honestly- Might’ve just been me seeing new things that weren’t new since I hadn’t played with them in a bit.
All in all, I think this snapshot was great! The new music disc is really all I care about, but hey, new Advancements and mechanical updates are pretty cool and important.

I momentarily interrupt your timeline and this feed to bring you two simple words: THANK YOU • To everyone that is a part of this community, both OGs and newcomers. I sometimes get overtaken by how much I love running The Artidote: researching for content to share, designing posts, gathering and sharing SnapThoughts, developing initiatives to evolve this project and empower the community, nurturing all the social media channels, responding to messages, etc.— that from time to time I have to take a pause, take in a deep breath, and let out a giant THANK YOU in relief. To you, reading this right now — even if you don’t comment or actively like the posts and you’ve simply enjoyed being a silent observer :) • Running The Artidote on my own for the past 3+ years has come with its challenges. Nonetheless, I do it because I love it and my heart is 100% into this. Especially when I receive messages like the one pictured here. It reminds me of the thought I’ve had since day one: we’ve got something good and unique here✨ • THANK YOU for making BREATHE our mantra, even to the point where people are getting tattoos of it. THANK YOU for making the first Artidote Apparel collection a success and purchasing a t-shirt to help me sustain the amount of work/time it takes to run the project (there’s still some available at the link in the bio). THANK YOU to @lostformat, my business partners, for producing quality tees and making sure they reach Artidotees in all corners of the globe in a timely manner. And THANK YOU for liking, commenting and sharing the page and posts so that they may reach others who may need a lil dose of Artidote in their lives. • Today I’m simply filled with gratitude. And I wanted you to know that I don’t take one bit of this for granted. I truly appreciate every single one of you that to some extent feels connected to this page, project and community. You have all my love. THANK YOU for making us feel that we are all in this together ❤️ BREATHE, @jovaferreyra https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm5QJKBh6-4/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1dfwghh66m171

I have a feel-good story for you: 🌱 It's how The Artidote community from across the world came together in support of a fellow Artidotee in Scotland. This story developed this past weekend on Snapchat, when I received a SnapThought from a hospital in Glasgow. 🌱 The photos on this album capture the events as they unfolded. Once I shared her snap to The Artidote community on Snapchat, messages of love and support began pouring in. Her response follows at the end of the photo album. 🌱 Warning: it's a story that deals with suicide. But more importantly, it's a story that speaks to the comforting reminder that, despite being mostly strangers to each other, we are all in this together. 🌸 It's truly pleasure being a part of this wonderful community <3 All the love, Jova

#ScribblesFromMyJournal is an initiative exclusive to The Artidote’s twitter channel. I’d like to give you a sample here of recent entries. 🌸 In line with The Artidote’s creed that there’s power & healing in vulnerability, Artidotees are encouraged to share a photo from a passage in their journals. I feel that vulnerable honesty is rare and, if it’s somewhere to be found, is in the pages of our journals - hidden between the lines of the things we dare only sometimes tell ourselves. What I also find special about this initiative is getting a glimpse of countless handwritings, a trait so intimately ours like our fingerprints. There’s also something more human and personal about thoughts written on paper than on a virtual screen. 🌸 This is only running on twitter because I’d like every channel of The Artidote to have its own vibes and unique content. Instead of using social media platforms as mere distribution channels for the same content, I’d like to bring to life each platform’s unique perks. But I find #ScribblesFromMyJournal such a beautiful initiative, just like the SnapThoughts from Snapchat, that I’ll be featuring some entries, from time to time, here on the gram ✌🏽 All the love, Jova 🌸 you may submit your scribbles in a message at twitter.com/theartidote 🌸 this fluidly transitioning post was created using @scrlgallery

Hey jova, i am an artist. Artidote is an amazing blog:). It is of great healing. Keep up the good work! what can i do if i wAnt my art to be featured on this blog?
Thank you for your interest in adding to The Artidote's content feed. Unfortunately, I've recently ceased accepting submissions. The reasons are few, which include:1) I began to notice that the submissions that were coming in did not fit the content or aesthetic of The Artidote. Because of this, only about 5% of submissions were making it into the timeline. The other 95% didn't. And rejecting 95% of submissions made me feel that I was maybe doing more harm than good — since people often also feel rejected or 'not good enough' when their work gets rejected, especially work that comes from their thoughts & emotions. That has never been my intention. On the contrary, one of my aims with this project is to inspire people to express themselves through art, writing or otherwise. I know the power of expression and how necessary it is for our personal healing process. So I would never want to discourage anyone from continuing to express themselves. 2) Some people were simply submiting random content to this page without understanding what The Artidote is, its mission statement & who even runs it — making the community engagement less personal & just like most social media pages out there that share written/visual content. 3) This is still a one-person passion project. Meaning that The Artidote and all of its social media channels (facebook, snapchat, twitter, tumblr) are managed by me: Jova. Because of the growth of the page, I have simply lacked the time to go over every single message and respond to every request to read & review entries. It's practically impossible at this point. The good news is that, as the project has grown, it's become more than a page but also a very engaged community. Because of this, I have big plans for The Artidote in the next year alone. Perhaps by next year I will already have the infrastructure in place to have a team to help me manage, review submissions & continue to build this wonderful community. I'd appreciate your support during this upcoming transformation If you like to read more about me and this project, here's a helpful interview I did with VICE that may answer some of your questions: https://www.vice.com/en_au/article/ezkjem/the-artidote-creator-talks-saving-lives-on-social-media And if you are more of the audiovisual type, here's a cool TEDxTalk I recently did about The Artidote: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsquxAOyfeI Again, thanks for reaching out!Much love,Jova #MentalHealthOverEveryDamnThingP.S. Right now, the only type of submissions I'm taking are through Snapchat (username: theartidote) in the form of submitted SnapThoughts. And over on twitter (@theartidote) for the segment #ScribblesFromMyJournal.

And here is the winning entry of the 1st Artidote Giveaway: ••• "I was a teenager when Artidote began and as I enter adulthood, a lot of what made me a little bit mature—a huge factor of my growth—was because of this page. I could as easily say that the difference between me 6 years back and now, was before I didn't have this community. Now I see more and feel more and I opened up more. 🌱 For me, The Artidote is: A. R. T. I. D. O. T. E. 🌱 An (A)gent of change in the social media world full of negativity. It (R)e-creates my perception about people (and their ideas); whether they are going through the same thing as I am or dealing with their own lives. I have this sense of (T)ogetherness in this community at the same time it cultivates one's (I)dentity — I think that's an amazing feat, given the diversity of the people here. However subtle, this makes a (D)ifference and I feel so lucky to have witnessed it when people would post supportive SnapThoughts and comments. It (O)pened my heart to a new level of empathy. This is the page that sets the new (T)rend in (E)xpression, art and kindness." —Em Caitlin 🌱 Congratulations Em! ••• What struck me about her message was the realization that: as The Artidote has grown as a page/space, so has its community. It was just in May of 2015 that I launched this initiative and reading all of your recent entries & histories has fortified my belief in its mission and why its important. 2017 brought us the first TEDxTalk, keynote speeches & the first iteration of Artidoe Meetups in cities across the globe. 2018 will see The Artidote blossom to its inevitable next level (stay tuned). It brings me immense joy thinking that The Artidote community & the ecosystem it has created is helping nurture today, to various degrees, the leaders of tomorrow. ••• I'm so appreciative of everyone that has supported this initiative by spreading its word across social media maximizing its impact, contributing in the comments and considering this space and community their extended home & family. ❤️ All the love, Jova Ferreyra Founder

Why did you ignore me on Snapchat while you always put other people's snaps on your story ? You made me feel rejected , unwanted , and unimportant ...
rejection is honestly the incorrect term to use and a misunderstanding about what SnapThoughts is really about. here’s my full response to you and everyone that may still not know what my purpose/role here is. Big love,JovaFounder & Curator of The Artidote
