Dumb ask (kind of fluffy?) but imagine asking any of the boys to remove a spider, konigs so tall he'd probably get a cobweb stuck in his hair
i can't decide between könig having a fear of spiders, or if he would choose to own one. i headcannon könig to have owned a couple of rats and a bunny, i think he would also have a pet tarantula. 🕷️
if könig wasn't that bothered by spiders, he'd mock you for your phobia teasingly. he may pretend to throw it at you once he lets it crawl away outside, but he'll comfort you afterwards. he doesn't mind them, he'll let the smaller ones roam around the place, only to say goodbye once you beg him to remove them.
if könig was afraid of spiders, he'd jump back and forth, his hand shaking holding a cup and paper. his breathing would be heavy, knees weak, attempting to get rid of the small creature. he'll chuck it outside, locking the windows and doors...

The devil works hard but the donquixote family graphic design team works harder.
Tumblr media
Like look at the graphics on that, knocked it up on the fly and probably on some strange snail computer hybrid too.
Look at the flames in the background the posing. Where did they even get these pictures from. Amazing.
Call him evil, a war criminal even but you can not call Donquixote Doflamingo unprepared.

Let's go baby! It's Renthesnail!
Tumblr media
What he looks like without his sunglasses, also a better view of the ones on his shell
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How I made him:
Refer to this post for the base snail pattern
Additional Materials:
Use blue yarn instead of green for his eyes (everything else is the same as the base snail pattern) Red felt Black foam sticker sheet
How to Embroider Rensnail's Beard:
Between round 14 and 15, pause to sew Rensnail's beard. I'm not the most knowledgeable about embroidery, but this is how I did it:
First, make backstitches between rows 9 and 10, rows 10 and 11, and rows 11 and 12. Double them over to make them thicker. The first row is a single backstitch in the center, 2 stitches wide. The second row has TWO backstitches on either side of the first row, 2 stitches wide. The last row is a single long backstitch, 6 stitches wide. Here's a visual diagram:

What it should look like

Then, I inserted my needle vertically under the brown yarn and between the rows at the corners to make a vertical line and connect the horizontal stitches.

Hopefully, the pics help but I think it may take some trial and error. I made the pattern and even I was confused my second time making him...
Accessories & Options:
The shell pattern is the same. Another option is to make it out of red to match the design on the official sticker. I think that would be cute too.
I just made the strip of red out of felt and hot-glued it on. His sunglasses are made out of foam sticker sheets, which I didn't need to glue because they already had adhesives on the back.

Additionally, I made an extra pair of sunglasses with arms that he can wear on his face
Extra - Rejected RentheBeards:

In that last pic, i got so annoyed at backpulling the yarn that I just decided to cut it, resulting in this insanity lmao

🍄 🐸 🌷 🥀 🐌 // poison garden // gouache on hot press paper
everything pictured in this piece is a poison: henbane in blue, belladonna in green, amanita muscaria in red, rosy bonnet in pink, lily of the valley, strawberry poison dart frogs, hickory tussock moth & caterpillar, ladybug. not the snails, though! they're just hanging.
[id: an illustrative gouache painting on a dark background. lush intertwined botanicals with textured blue and green leaves weave between red, white, and pink flowers. red frogs and ladybugs perch on stems, colorful pink and red mushrooms burst from the ground, and a moth hangs off a leaf. snails stroll quietly over the tops of mushrooms and along the ground. /end id]

the waistcoat I mentioned in my last sewing projects post! since this has a lot more moving parts and involved some more complex work than the shirts, this was something of a practice exercise, so I did it with a kinda cheap print from a quilting fabrics store. since I had a lot of fun with this I plan to make more in blue and red/gold fabrics that I have, which will hopefully, unlike the print, not leave little white marks everywhere a needle pokes through.
big note for next time is to try and pay more attention to the pocket welts (the little strips that cover the opening), since the pattern doesn't quite match up on either of them & the attachment is a bit shoddy.
...but a very exciting note for next time, or the time after, whenever I use the red/gold fabric, is that I will be using these:
Tumblr media
these brass buttons were dated to the late 1830s by the antiques store I bought them at (a cursory Google suggests that button enthusiasts concur.) there are seven in total, which is a couple more than I need for the front closure, so I might see about making that one double-breasted and keep the seventh around for a spare or memento or what have you. hang it off my watch chain maybe.
also, it's a bit too dark to get a good image of it right now, but soon I'll have a picture to share of my "new" sewing machine! I mostly plan to use it for seams and other concealable structural elements--hand finishing is too much fun & provides too neat of a finish for me to give it up.
