How did you get into the smurfs?

My best friend got back into it in 2019 as it was part of her childhood and she was moving away from the TTTE fandom - I knew nothing about the Smurfs but I quite often follow friends into fandoms and since I already liked little forest creature things anyway it sounded right up my alley. I had watched Smurfs 2011 when it came out and vaguely remembered shipping Brainy and Gutsy as a wee 10 year old fjsdkf

Anyway I watched Smurfy Hollow and Smurfs 2, secure in my decision to ship Brutsy and things kind of went from there with watching more and more media. I've almost left a couple of times but everyone is so darn nice in this fandom im usually pulled back via discord x

I kinda wish Gutsy was in more media, he's one of my favorites

I know he's newer and was only added for the Live Action movies, but they kept him around for Smurfy Hollow, and I kinda wish they had also put him in The Lost Village and the 2021 Series

okay you know how ntob dreamy's imagination ran wild after reading a book/ watching a play. well. according to smurfy hollow the smurfs takes place in the 15th century (i haven't found any other sources for the date). you know what was hot in the 15th century? robin hood.

Rewatched smurfy hollow with maggs and i love how much of a shithead brainy is at the start. His nervous unsure pessimist side is cute, sure, but the smug ojou-sama side is moé too~

There's something really cute about how much Alan Cumming and Fred Armisen interacted in that (actually adorable and beautifully animated) 2D animated Smurfs movie, when as human beings they fell in love in Schmigadoon. Alan and Fred belong together in fantastical alternate universes I guess.
