Fluffy February 2024 Master List

Huzzah! I wrote 29 things for Fluffy February (ok, 28 things plus one very fluffy chapter for my bigger fluffy fan fic).

Highlights: I developed my canon for both Lenn Teraan and Cole Cantarus. I wrote another Akaavi/Mako piece (someone needs to write them an epic Carbonite Years fic). I posted my most explicit work so far (is that a low light?). Dr. Oggurobb has decided to weigh in a lot lately.

Splurge -- 25 ATC -- Eva buys Theron a gift that isn't exactly what he wanted.

Free space! I added to Elysium, for a little while.

Craft -- Carbonite Years -- Akaavi knits something for Mako for the first time; in terms of the relationship, that's a big deal.

Spontaneous --- Theron and Eva rope Lana into one of their schemes.

Pleasure -- 22 ATC -- Eva speculates on some of the alternative universes in which she met Theron differently.

Pain -- sometime between 25 ATC and 29 ATC -- Bit of a kinky piece wherein Theron has his old scars replaced by Eva. This is Explicit for sexual activity, biting, bruising, and blood.

Shadow -- the legend of the Voidhound, from a child's perspective.

Partners -- 21 ATC -- A Theron/Eva heist fic, with their radio comms as cover

Reward -- 40 ATC -- Dr. Oggurobb finally retires... or so he thinks, thanks to Bowdaar.

Sacrifice -- 29 ATC (between patches 7.2 and 7.3) -- Theron sacrifices one of the few things to survive from his childhood. Eva is a pregnant person in this fic, so CW for that.

Dance - Eva dances with Jace Malcom. This is a continuation of an eventual post-Nathema fic about a party.

Apology -- 28 ATC (Between Elom and 7.3) -- Theron liberates Arcann from his job at a fast food join in Dromund Kaas by punching him in the face. No, I will not elaborate (I will totally elaborate).

Kiss -- 21 ATC -- Theron thinks about the his views on good morning kisses in the early days after Eva's return.

Rain -- 21 ATC -- Theron finds Eva out in the rain after Koth is worried about her. It's not as bad as it looks.

Protect -- 14 ATC -- Dr. Oggurobb meets the Voidhound on Makeb.

Shy -- 13 ATC -- Cole Cantarus becomes friends with benefits with Eva (she pays at the bar).

Fresh -- anytime after 23 ATC -- C2-N2 tries to start spring cleaning on Virtue's Thief. "Tries" is the operative word here.

Star Wars Games Japanese Dub

I just watched a clip of a Japanese VTuber playing that moment in Fallen Order. You know, that moment where Darth Spoiler shows up to make Cal question his entire life.

I guess she now knows his full name too...although I think she may have found out when she did his background check on leaving Coruscant. To go off on a tangent, his ship’s registered under the name Ticcer Marzan but as they were on his home planet where his records were she found out a bit more...and managed to fill in the gaps by herself. But now he’s getting married, guess he has to actually admit his full name for it to be official so. Ticcanledri Jek Drayen it is.

Cursed with both sleepy and the desire to work on fic when I have... many not-fic things that need to be done, but also the curse of a cute/heartwrenching(?) idea for a conversation I need to Make Happen because of course I have feelings about finishing Corellia.

So because I am nothing if not great at making poor decisions to do blorbo work instead of... actual work!! Have a snippet of said smuggyau feelings I am attempting to generate into actual prose instead of just lines of dialogue in my noggin’. ~Shortly after Ch3 for Smuggler.

Before I begrudgingly admit to either a small nap or like. Actual college work (boo). Apologies now for the slightly awkward drop off point but I am going like zzzzz at the thought of making more words, so this is another time me problem. x3

“I’m a big girl, Oli,” she said, slightly mumbled as one hand rubbed at still-tired eyes. The whole ‘save the galaxy’ bit had been… a lot, actually. “‘Sides, I think we just blew up enough things to earn a little peace.”

A small puff of a chuckle slipped the agent’s lips as he shook his head, an easy smile slipping over his lips as he leaned against the bar. “Quite to the contrary, love, that’s always been the double-edge of fame; Rogun proved enough on that or have you already forgotten?”

Cee groaned. “Tell me about it.” She rolled her eyes and pushed away from the door, lazily joining him, eager to slip into his welcoming arms that wrapped without question or hesitance around her shoulders. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head as she nuzzled in against his side, tucked beneath one arm he left looped around her shoulders.

She’d hardly been interested in the fortune or the fame to begin with, despite the praise Risha often heaped upon such measures. It’d make a fine exclamation point on slipping free of the people that’d ever put her on a starship in the first place, sure, but…

“Oli…” A frown draped across her lips as she poked a finger into his side. “Are you… y’know..?” She propped her chin against his chest as she peered up at him.

Last two chapters: Back to the Garden and The Secrets We Keep, Part III

“Why do you care?  You got everything that you wanted – including me being left in a terribly dangerous position, with the information I gave you.” 

“You’re still not convincing me as to why I shouldn’t.  None of that is good enough.”

…of course.  She’d recognized her immediately – not just the back of her head, but her method, the things that would annoy her most, the precision of execution.

15 Day SWTOR OC Challenge, Day Eleven

Set One: Main Ficverse Trio

11. Canon divergence. Are there parts of their story that don’t line up with in-game information? Why? Where?

Jezari Solarin

I suspect she’s a bit older than the game expected the Smuggler to be, as she’s 30 when the events of the prologue begin.

In fic, I ran with the game’s wackiness of having the SIS periodically hire the player character to do jobs that seem like they should be being done by an actual SIS agent and not some random criminal, and made her a kind of unofficial agent of the SIS. An SIS agent hired her as transportation off planet, got themselves in trouble, and, when her passenger didn’t show, she went and rescued them. This got her more SIS transportation business, which branched out into more and more SIS agent type missions. To the point that the SIS would like to officially recruit her (despite her not actually being a Republic citizen…possibly…or possibly she is by way of her mother...she doesn’t know). So far, she keeps saying “no,” though.

I’ve done some minor tweaking of the prologue and chapter one of the Smuggler story, but, for the most part those are fic canon for her. It’s after that that everything takes a left turn at Albuquerque, as it were. (Okay, I have her prologue and chapter one stuff happening before everyone else’s, so that’s a bit of a shift too.)

In any event, shortly after the end of in-game Chapter One, Jezari, on a mission for the SIS, meets Kyrian (who was on a mission for Intelligence), rescues him, contemplates selling him to the SIS, and ends up working with him to rescue some people and trash a Sith Lord’s mad science lab. They continue running into each other, and eventually she rescues him from a fate worse than and including death (see his entry).

Besides the addition of a very weird Imperial into her story (not to mention her nearly life-long friendship with Savler), basically none of the rest of the Smuggler story is canon for her. Bits of it will probably end up being. I think I’m going to do something with Darmas Pollaran, for instance. But the story just doesn’t hold together that well, and it really doesn’t hold together for someone who’s actively working with the SIS. (And the Voidwolf just annoys me, so he’s definitely Grand Admiral Not Appearing In This Fic.)

Aori Savler

She’s definitely older than the game expected the Bounty Hunter to be as she is also 30 when the events of the prologue begin. (She’s a year younger than Jezari, but with Jezari’s story being off-set…)

She also has a family, and a best friend who’s a smuggler. And she works for/in the Republic as well as the Empire and independent space.

While I like the general outline of the Bounty Hunter stuff, there are a lot of places where I feel like the story either falls apart a bit or relies on a much more reckless or somewhat dimmer character than Savler is. There are choices she simply wouldn’t make, not so much because of morality, but because they’re incredibly unwise.

So, for the most part her career involves something akin to the canon story (at least Chapter One thereof), but not exactly the canon story. There’s a Great Hunt, and Braden hires her onto the team, and she meets Mako…and Tarro Blood is a murderous, cowardly, cheating asshole. She and Mako compete in the Great Hunt, and Blood will eventually be reduced to a messy smear of his namesake, but the targets and events are not necessarily the ones from the game.

And, of course, she’s also got a best friend to keep out of trouble. Or rescue from trouble. (She definitely made sure that Risha and Bowdaar have her personal comm number.)

Kyrian Nessar

Kyrian is every bit the young, fresh out of training agent the game intends. The problem is, even sticking purely to the game’s allowed light side options, he’s far too nice for his job. Not to mention going for a bit of a wade in the treason pool. Add in his fic shenanigans with Jezari and the fact that the Empire is not stupid (particularly not Imperial Intelligence) and his career had the approximate lifespan of a mayfly. And so, nearly, did he.

That brief career included events that approximate the Agent story from prologue through Tatooine, just with even more people left alive than the game allows. (Or alive for different reasons. In fic canon, he simply didn’t arrive at Watcher X’s hanger in time. Traffic was terrible. Most unfortunate. (He had neither desire for Watcher X’s bribe nor desire to recapture him.))

And in fic, he not only rescues Jezari from the Empire at one point, but helps her save someone he’s been given explicit orders to kill. When the Sith Lord they kept tangling with decided to take a close look at Kyrian’s career, there were no shortage of treasonous actions to uncover.

And so his incredibly short career ended with his arrest for treason and near horrible lengthy execution by Sith.

Jezari saved him before anything permanent…well… much permanent, anyway…happened to him. And he became a member of her crew. (Which is about as off from the game story as you can get!)

Though Wulfwryn’s fingers ached from the force that she gripped her sword and shield with, Gorothúl’s foul magic froze her body in place.

2. Still Untitled Shepard Gets Hurt Fic (Ryn Shepard x Garrus, ME3)

Ryn was exhausted. Her shotgun felt like lead in her arms, her helmet a brutally heavy crown atop her head.

3. Five Meets Tyr Fic I Promised @tiredassmage​ Months Ago (SWTOR)

Forty-eight hours awake with only snatches of sleep caught in batches of minutes was not treating Five well.

4. Untitled Cyberpunk WIP (Cyberpunk 2077)

The door hissed closed behind V, the janky latch bouncing once, twice, thrice, before finally clicking and locking.

5. Emeldir x Risha Prompt Fill (Smuggler x Risha, SWTOR)

The Phoenix zipped into hyperspace as it cleared the planet's atmosphere, the hull rattling around them as it picked up speed. 

6. Baraneth and Ruinel Prompt Fill (Dragon Age Origins)

Exhaustion weighed on Baraneth like a leaden blanket. 

7. Shakarian Prompt Fill (Ryn Shepard x Garrus, ME1)

Humans were something of a mystery.

If Emeldir kept stuffing his foot in his mouth whenever he talked to Risha he was never going to get the taste of rubber out of it.

Nothing in the Empire fell further from grace than the Dark Council.

10. Reunification (Ryn Shepard, ME2)

The bundle of rebuilt bones that had been given the name Ryn Shepard stared at herself in the mirror on the ship that was not her own.

3. I started out as primarily a DPS player, and then found out quite accidentally that I’m good on a healer character. So when I’m not doing story content on my Sentinel, I’m running around on my healer-spec Sorcerer and Operative. They’re my preferences for group content or PVP (when I can be arsed to do it). It should be noted that I’m absolutely abysmal as a tank.

9. Skadge, Broonmark, and Nadia “I whine more than Anakin Skywalker through the entire prequel trilogy and my voice is less appealing than nails on a chalkboard” Grell can all die in a fire. I hate them all with the passion of a thousand burnt marshmallows. 

21. This should come as a surprise to absolutely nobody that I rather like Female Jedi Knight/Theron Shan. =P I’m also fond of Female Bounty Hunter/Torian Cadera, or Male Smuggler/Risha Drayen, and I like the idea of Female Trooper/Aric Jorgan (even if my token lady trooper hasn’t gotten there yet). And the fact that Female Consular/Zenith isn’t an official thing is nigh-on unforgivable. (Unrelated, WHAT is the appeal between Female Warrior and Quinn??? Can somebody explain this to me? I don’t get it. 0.o)

EDIT: I may have been thinking about romantic ships way too much over the last few days. >.> As far as favourite player SPACEship goes, I’m in love with the Agent’s X-70B Phantom. I want it. *grabbyhands*

Smuggler kicked Risha under the table again. “What?” she snapped, lifting her eyes from her datapad. Her love pointed at the couple in the table far to their left. She raised her brows while watching how one of them put their jacket on to the other.

“If she didn’t want to freeze, she should have brought her own jacket,” Risha said. “I know, right? Why would anyone give their jacket to someone else?” Smuggler agreed vehemently. Their voice made Risha put down the datapad with her brow still raised. “You’re at least sensible, always bringing everything you need with you,” they continued.

“Too bad I can’t say the same about you,” Risha said, crossing her arms. “Being with you is like overseeing a child. If you’re not missing anything, you want something.”

Instead of arguing or disagreeing, Smuggler simply shrugged their shoulders while grinning. “What’s the point in denying, when it’s all true? But, I have to admit that you do your babysitting job extremely well.”

“Thank you,” Risha said, leaning over the table, seeing Smuggler do the same. “I guess you’re not totally hopeless after all.” “Aww, how sweet of you to say that,” Smuggler said. They stared at each other a while over the table, their fingers only few inches apart. Risha leaned even closer, until her mouth was against Smuggler’s ear.

“I’m not going to lend you my jacket,” she whispered.

Smuggler groaned, and Risha laughed. She would have leaned back if her love hadn’t stopped her. “Can I at least get a kiss?” they asked, the smirk returning to their face. “Because snogging you never fails to make me-” “Just stop, you idiot,” Risha interrupted, pulling them into a kiss. She could feel them smile.

Top 6 swtor romances.

1. (By a lot) Elara/Trooper. A relationship built slowly over time and based on mutual trust and respect rather than “Well the PC hit the flirt button a few times”. I love the insertion of humor and teasing (I love Elara needling the trooper for being surprised at her flirting by pointing out it’s only fair she be allowed to if he is), and I really love how she lets her guard down to reveal herself as being really kind and sweet and warm only after she feels ready to rather than just because. The romance is also really respectful of her as a character - she doesn’t abandon her beliefs and morals (and she’s even allowed to have a line the trooper can’t cross), but that doesn’t take away from the fact it’s clear she loves him.

2. Felix/Consular - similar in many respects to Elara’s romance; I’m a sucker genuinely warm and sweet romances where the characters are treated well. Felix is pretty underrated in the fandom for various reasons, but I think his firm conviction to doing the right thing even as a more grounded character (i.e. someone without something like the Jedi Code rammed into him) makes him a great partner for the Consular (at least a LS one!), and he’s got some of that lovable/dorky goof stuff going for him that I enjoy too

3. Andronikos/Inquisitor - A real surprise for me, to be honest, since I didn’t think he’d be appealing at all when I started. But despite all my negative assumptions, he’s genuinely respectful toward the Inquisitor without being overly deferential, stands up for himself and approaches the relationship in his own unique way. The scene where he gives the Inquisitor a sword as a gift was surprisingly touching and while my canon inquisitor would never ever romance him, I was really fond of how it went for my ingame one.

4. Vector/Agent - Another “love it ingame but abandoned it in my fic” romance. I know some people are creeped out by the hivemind/Kilik stuff, but the story of how two outsiders trying to deal with situations way beyond them really clicked for me and Vector himself is such a sweetheart that I couldn’t help but love him, quirks and occasional oddities and all.

5. Kira/Knight - Kind of a weird one for me in the sense that in many respects it feels very cliché; like something out of an action movie or something with Kira and the JK being the prototypical Battle Couple, but still finds room for the Knight to be supportive of Kira as she works through her past and where she stands going forward.

I’m not sure about my 6th to be honest, as there’s still a few romances I haven’t done that I could see being there. Right now it’d probably be one of Koth/whoever, Jorgan/trooper or smuggler/Risha, but I could see Agent/Kaliyo, Smuggler/Akaavi or Inquisitor/Ashara (which I haven’t done) ahead of them too.
