the reason for all those “damn you guys weren’t lying, destiel IS real” posts is that from the outside, it is very hard to tell the difference between the grasping-at-straws of the successfully queerbaited, and the increasingly desperate arguments of fans being smoothsharked (straightsharked, if you will) by a tv network for over a decade.

While there might be an element of smoothsharking going on I don't think the official art is helping - looking purely at the shading and light, I can totally understand how they can read as smooth.

I see how you can come to that conclusion, but the first time someone asked, I very much did say "this is a joke about the posts where people are praising AI video" and explained the full joke, along with what it's from. every response after that is me turning towards the camera and saying that it's a popular french animated film that cost a lot of money and did not make a lot of money
