A Starlight Suprise Ft. @smolcatte

"There ye are!"

A familiar voice rang out toward E’khei.

"Miss Pheli!  Pleasure to see ya again!"

Pheli Nosuk smiled a little, her ears giving a little wiggle.

"I was hopin' I'd catch ye today. I.. wanted t'give ye somethin'."

E'khei quirked a brow. 

"Me?  You don't have to give me anythin'."

"Well, s' Starlight." she scratched her cheek a little, almost embarrassed.

"An' I wanted t' make ye somethin'. And.. I had a little help from Alanna too, before she went to th' Big Fields."

She smiled sadly and pulled a wrapped parcel from her satchel.

"It's got a few o' her feathers incorporated in it, so.. s'very special. From both o' us."

Pheli hands over the wrapped parcel to E’khei. E'khei accepts the package.  "I appreciate it, Miss Pheli.  Though, it makes me feel bad about not havin' anything for you."

"Don't worry about it." she smiled, tugging at her collar a little.

"I know ye've probably been busy, but I thought ye'd appreciate that."

"Well.  Can I open it here?"

Pheli nods to E’khei.

"Go ahead!"

He gently tears at the wrapping.  It doesn't take much to remove the pink stuffed chocobo from it's wrapping.  It was holding a pink tail feather.  E'khei takes a deep breath before speaking. 

"Miss Pheli ... this is ... "  He tips his hat down over his eyes a bit.

Pheli scuffed her boot into the stone a little, flushing slightly.

"I.. hope ye like it."

"I do, it's just ..."  He shakes his head. 

"It seems more like somethin' you'd want to keep for yourself."

"I made one fer me as well. Alanna seemed t'really take t'ye so I figured.. as a little memory o' her."

"Yers is special though. She gave me that tail feather."

E'khei lowered his head as he brought the stuffed chocobo into a hug. 

"I see.  Thank you, Alanna, for the fine gift.  And thank you, Miss Pheli."

Pheli beams at you.

"I wish I could stay longer, but I have a daughter t'surprise. Her nameday's in four days, an' I got her gift today."

She tugged up her collar again, a faint glimpse of a bandage there.

"Have a good rest o' yer Starlight, Ser E'khei." she smiled brightly.

E'khei takes another deep breath as he recovers. 

"Well ... be safe, Miss Pheli.  I couldn't bear to not see ya around again."

"M'always about!" she giggled.

She gave a flutter of her fingers, before scampering off.

E’khei reached out, but Pheli had already gone far out of reach.

So, I’m pretty lazy and only made some edits to make it flow better.  BUT!

Originally made on Mateus with the help of a former friend who gave me the idea for the freckles, I made her on Bally and she is so heckin’ adorable. I expanded on her story and fluffed it up a little. (No pun intended.)
