Pheli could barely contain her laughter. Puffing out her chest and stridin in her best manly swagger she began with a loud, throaty cackle. "Oh, aye! M'name's Rez an' I'm th' best pirate ye will ever see! Me conquests are th' stuff o' legends an' I'm a TOTAL hit with all th' ladies!" That was about all she could get before doubling over in laughter, her hand braced on the rail. "Sorry love, but I just couldn't help it!"

Rez taps the Miqo’te on the tip of her nose, “Ya go’ some good responses goin’, bu’ I ain’ a pirate, an’ will never call meself one. I don’ wan’ Merylwyb ta chop me head off.” He grins widely, “Bu’ me conques’s ARE the thin’s of legends! An’ I’m a hi’ with lads AN’ lasses!”

The Xaela was clearly out of his element, standing in the garden in front of his home, swearing profusely and creatively as he tried to tend to the poor plants. It took him a few moments to realize he was being watched, eyes full of despair and abject failure rising to meet those of the Miqo’te woman.

“It’s not my garden. I hate gardening, but Natsumi loves it, so I get stuck trying to tend them when she is away. Every time, something dies. I try telling her to just let me leave them alone, that they might have a chance then, but she thinks I can learn to care for a home garden.”

“Always goes on about ‘You can take care of -your- plants just fine, what’s wrong with these?’ and I don’t know how t’explain that these plants are boring and useless without sounding like a total ass.” He sighs, not even sure why he was explaining this to the stranger.

💖 Lean in to give my muse a sweet/chaste kiss - Pheli!

Bells were spent in quiet conversation. Small smiles, shared treats, and stories passed back and forth as the pair caught up. Roka did her best to show her friend everything was alright, even hiking her shirt up to display some of her scars. She was healing. They all were. They all would, given enough time. Ultimately though, she couldn’t promise she was entirely well.

A mumbled confession that it was bad sometimes. It was bad when she was alone. She wasn’t alone often, not when she could fill most days with busywork and visiting friends, and her evenings curled with a lover. But still. There were the rare moments when no one else was there.

Pheli seemed to understand. Pulled the smaller catte into a hug and stayed like that for several minutes, softly singing just like she had when there was tension in the Hive. When Roka eased again, hands cupped her cheeks and Pheli smiled at her, planting a kiss of her lips quickly before bumping their brows together. Met with a puzzled expression at first, the notqo'te sliwly smiled back, chirping quietly, and wagged her fluffy tail before she wiggled free of Pehli to snag another cookie and offer it up, driving the conversation to lighter topics and laughter.

It’d be alright. She had friends like this who were still around to help.
