Idk who needs to hear this but an N95 is not sufficient PPE for the particulate matter produced by a large chemical plant burning down in one's immediate vicinity & it's irresponsible to suggest folks simply "mask up" in their preexisting covid PPE to protect themselves w/out any additional caveats. To my knowledge nothing short of those respirators w the face shields & P100 cartridges will cut it in the face of chlorine gas like we're seeing in ATL rn — I understand most folks in harms way won't have those things on hand may wear their N95s anyway in hopes that "something is better than nothing" but I think those ppl deserve to know that chlorine gas WILL 100% pass directly through an N95 (or equivalent) & they are not "safer" wearing one, period. It's true an N95 may aid in filtering other unknown particulates during a chemical fire however conflating that potential protection w protection from chlorine gas specifically is, again, irresponsible public health messaging. That being said even w a proper respirator protecting your eyes & airways u can still be exposed through your skin!!!! Staying indoors w windows closed & ventilation systems OFF is the only real protection for those in harms way rn & I hope that info is getting thru to those who need it. There is no cure for chlorine exposure. Do not rely on your N95.

.For you, baby!!! 😘🫶❤️. I've read at least one ☝️ fic of them smoking together, pretty sure that's the entire premise of the fic idk I cannae remember properly. BUT it does make me wonder if leeches should smoke considering they're remarkably more flammable than the average man, I feel like that's got to be like, dangerous to some degree. Like, 'lemme light up, babes' and p o o f up in smoke. Either way, nobody can deny the inherent eroticism of smoking together like that 🥴. I think maybe I'm getting better at drawing Jonny boy though, I know I'm not drawing his nose perfectly but the tip messes with my mind, I like a beaky nose, but I like them more when they're descending with an acutely hooked angle at the end.

It's summertime which means it's smoke season! Shits on fire out there. Combusting even.

Anyway, I live in a log cabin with no AC so I'm gonna have to build a redneck air purifier and roll with it. Because I know how this whole climate change thing is treating us I figured I would share because the trick that makes this thing work is having it ready to go before the air quality takes a dive.

Step one. Gather materials. Box fan, 4 (four) air filters, masking tape and a kitty to make sure you do it correctly. Get the fat masking tape and make your life that much easier. I got air filters on sale, so I got the nice ones but even the low grade versions are better than nothing

Step two. Assemble a vaguely boxlike shape. Air filters are directional and you want the fan blowing air into the box, so pay attention to the little arrows. (If you want that true redneck authenticity, put it together backwards first then take it apart and do it again like I did)

Step ? Remove cat from box.

Step 3. Slather box with tape. there does exist the theoretical limit of too much tape, but that is in the realm of mathematical thought experiments. You can't possibly use too much tape. Get the box taped to the fan and add some shrouded.

Tada! I now have a large unwieldy box that will clean the air just as soon as I figure out where to put it where the cats won't try to sit on it.
