I'm really creative and love exploring little what-ifs, which is a lot of fun for me and many others! (do feel bad about it sometimes, so I'm turning this into an affirmation lmao) It's nice to see how a differing little detail or circumstance changes things, while depicting the same outcome because all my characters go "On purpose, I'm going to love you on purpose" <3

My sister knows, she was my beta reader for my tloz fic! She also knows I write for fnaf, which was just the same (mock) disappointment as when I told her I draw art for it fgdhjs Also pretty sure I told a couple friends about it? Some old hs friends bc I had no shame back then, and my uni friends, too. Hell, my parents know I write fanfic, I just don't tell them about what lmao. I like telling people I write! But unless they're interested in the source I usually just leave it at "oh yeah I'm writing a story for that media I like"

Angst no comfort. Anything that leads to hurt in a way that is not fixable within the narrative - betrayals, death (which I did write, only to back out again because it made me cry so much), and frankly anything along the lines of "I never actually loved you". I write about hope, and also to comfort myself with what I create, so while I enjoy catharsis it always, always has to come with comfort!

For AU specifically perhaps, it's... Well you're gonna be happy to hear it's Eclipse. Maybe because I haven't written him much but he's so so fun, and he kicks off so many good things it's always a delight to include him! In general it's very hard to say, I enjoy writing different characters for different reasons, so to compare them would be near impossible. I think, at the core, I love writing funny and caring characters! <3

OK so idk if I posted it here before, but I had an idea for an mha animatic for Work This Body by WALK THE MOON for Izuku Midoriya (BC idk, that song just screams "Deku" to me-)

Anyways I'm gonna post it here now cuz I hope to draw the frames soon (I have no idea how to animate whatsoever- does that mean I'm gonna give up tho? No. I'll animate it on freaking flipnote on my old DSi if I have to, I will make this animatic so help me-)

So yeah, scroll past if you don't rlly care/aren't interested, but if you are I'm gonna put my ideas for the frame-by-frame (sort of) under the cut:

OK so beginning context:

In my au, Uraraka is pan, Izuku is bi, the "Toshi" mentioned in the animatic notes is one of their future kids who eventually inherits OFA. With the context out of the way, IDEA FOR THE ANIMATIC!!!

Piano at the beginning: a couple scenes of the beginning of MHA just as, like a refresher (like maybe a short flash of baby Deku and a look at the sludge monster incident briefly) and title screen

"It was a strange place and a tender age": Izuku standing in front of All Might after the sludge monster incident, All Might offers to help make Izuku a hero.

"I was just a babe in school": shows Izuku happy at All Might's offer and crying, he's still in his middle school uniform.

"Saw them roll their eyes at me": shows Bakugo walking by, glaring in disgust at Deku as he passes.

"Every time that I thought that I was cool": Izuku taking notes.

"Well uh God knows I was no chosen one": Izuku looking at the littered beach.

4. What’s a hobby they used to have that they miss?

Hmm… Joel likes to do art, and I bet he used to make his own paint too from berries and whatnot. He probably stopped when he found out those plants were coming from his kingdom’s Worst Enemy Ever (this was before he knew Oli) and now he doesn’t remember how to do it right, otherwise he’d absolutely get back into it.

Oli's goofy with hobbies bc he's ADHD-coded /lh, so if he finds a new one he'll just disappear for days and forget society exists for a little while. He likes to play music and used to perform for his parents all the time when he was little, but as he got older and they got more busy he played less because he *needs* that audience to really enjoy it... he'd love to play more for Joel, but he's a little shy about it 👉👈

5. Can they cry on command? If so, what do they think about to make it happen?

Well Joel is always on the verge of tears anyway (/hj), so like... maybe not on command, but he can be set over the edge fairly easily (he's just good at hiding it around most people)

Oli absolutely can cry on command, he's a theatre kid smh. He'll tell people he thinks about dropping a cake facedown on the ground or dead puppies or something, but he's really thinking about losing his best friend, especially after his parents are gone :(

10. What fact do they excitedly tell everyone about at every opportunity?

Oh Joel will 100% tell you everything he knows about sniffers in a heartbeat 😭 he got that animal kid autism y'know /aff

Oli isn't as "fact-oriented," but if he's with Joel and also someone else then he'll put Joel on blast, who just blasts him back like--

"Hey! Did you know Joel sneezes if you poke him in the ribs?" -> ">:0 well, did you know Oli makes a funny sound if you scratch behind his ears?!" -> "Hah! Did you know Joel is afraid of heights?!" -> "Did you know you can put Oli to sleep by rubbing his nose like a baby?! >:("

14. How do they put out a candle?

Oli's the kinda guy to do the pinching thing tbh. He's gotta do it with flare~ ✨

Joel just blows it out, but Oli always teases him like "why don't you just flap your wings to put it out lol??" Joel says it's because it's inconvenient to turn around to do it, and his wings are too big for that, but he's also scared of burning them- his wings are delicate :(

16. What kinds of people do they have arguments with in their head?

Joel fights with his parents,, they were very good at reminding him that the only reason he existed was to be an heir for the kingdom and they didn't care about him enough to spend any time with him and he was nothing but disobedient after making his 'little friend' an- a lot of things. And even though Oli reminds him that he does have worth and their opinions shouldn't matter and Joel trusts that, it doesn't stop the echoes in his head </3

Oli probably fights with himself the most. He acts all confident and bold, etc. but he's an anxious mess on the inside. He also fights with the "voice of reason" too -- very "silencio bruno"-esque /lh

17. What do they notice first in the mirror versus what most people first notice looking at them?

The first thing Joel notices is uhh probably his green bangs? They're pretty vibrant and in front, draws your attention /lh, but other people usually notice his colorful freckles. Oli says they're like a rainbow leading to Joel's wonderful eyes <3

Oli probably notices his hair too? Y'know the like, hand comb thing cc!oli does where he combs his fingers through where his hair is parted? He does that a lot. But he's also got the softest brown eyes full of so much joy and,, ough they're pretty

18. Who do they love truly, 100% unconditionally (if anyone)?

Each other :(

They didn't always, they hadda get through a lot of "I'm supposed to hate you yk" before they really got close, and now they love each other a lot. Doesn't matter if the love is platonic or romantic what matters is that it was there and it overcame everything else, etc. etc.

Oli also loved his parents, and Ren + Martyn who are essentially his parents too, they get along very well <3

40. How do they respond to a loose handshake? What goes through their head?

Joel: “Oh moss, did I do that wrong?? Why didn't they shake back? Did I offend them?! Oh Devs, I’m so sorry, they probably hate me, or think I'm weird for shaking so tight, or--"

Oli: *shakes out hand with a grimace* “Wow, that was weird. Do they know how to shake hands?? LOL”

41. What phrases, pronunciations, or mannerisms did they pick up from someone / somewhere else?

Hmm... Joel's got a northern Mezalean accent, and will say things like "I fink / I havva / fank you / ohh blumin'-" etc. when he's tired or stressed or upset or otherwise high/low energy. (Y'know how cc!Joel shouts "EEFO!" and also cc!Stress' tweets? Yeah.) Oli won't necessarily talk like that all the time, but he will mimic and tease him about it hehe ^^

Joel picked up giggling from Oli, he used to rarely laugh at all but Oli's laugh (you know the one) is just so contagious <3

(And also from personal experience (/hj), they both say ourple/ouppy/kibby cat/etc. to be funny, but I dunno who started it)

46. Are they a listener or a talker? If they’re a listener, what makes them talk? If they’re a talker, what makes them listen?

Joel's a listener (because he'd rather just sit and do what he's told and not cause a stir, but if he really cares about it then he'll also Really listen), and he'll talk when he's invited to and/or trusts the person. Like if someone "wanted his opinion" on something but he thought they didn't really care he wouldn't really say anything, but if Oli wanted his opinion? Absolutely, here is it. (It's also dangerous for him, because if he starts talking sometimes he just doesn't stop-)

Oli's definitely a talker ahsjfs, extrovert boy- he usually can't stand silence and will just keep talking to fill the emptiness because if he doesn't he'll explode, but you better believe he'll start listening like a loyal dog the second Joel opens his mouth.

53. Who would / do they believe without question?

I… feel like Joel would believe anything Oli said no questions asked, but Oli’s too much of a prankster and Joel's too gullible for that to end well 😭 maybe I'll say each other but only if there's like the Code Enacted that means What I'm Saying Is 100% Slash Serious, you know?

56. If they’re scared, who do they want comfort from? Does this answer change depending on the type of fear?

They'll usually go to each other for most things because y'know they're very close and trust each other and it's just easy to, but it does depend on what it is too.

Like if Oli's worried about Joel, he's not gonna go to Joel, he's gonna go to Ren or Martyn because he trusts them a lot too, but also they're "ew old parents smh" so if it's a "kid problem" it's bestie time.

Same with Joel, he'll go to Oli for most things (more so than the reverse, because Joel has less support people to begin with), but there are some things he just... can't. And it's times like those where he'll go to his mom for it -- not the queen, his real mom, the Mother Tree. She doesn't talk back in words, but even just curling up in her branches or under her roots is enough to comfort him :')

But first, I'd first like to congratulate you on bringing Imbibitor Lunae home! And I absolutely feel you on the sudden amassing of oc ideas (I may or may not have come up with a couple of whole ass planets of my own, one of which I've been working on writing up, but that is a tale for another time!)

Anyhow, I approach you tonight (in my timezone) with a brainrot appropriate for both my anonymous moniker, and the occasion at hand. That's right, this ask features the one and only... Cold Dragon Yooooooung! Not to be confused with Cold Dragon Younger or Cold Dragon Youngest

Imagine, the reader is a member of the Astral Express, among the younger members, let's say pre-teens to early teens, and they're a bit of a bookworm. And since Dan Heng has essentially turned the Archives into his room, he's finds himself often being visited by them, sometimes [Name] chats him up, sometimes they're just chilling their quietly as they read through the stories and files that the crew of the express have accumulated over the course of their journey. Perhaps [Name] takes a particular shine to the numerous tales of dragons from across the cosmos, including those of their progenitor, the deceased Aeon of the Permanence, Long. Perhaps over time, Dan Heng takes becomes something of a big brother to [Name] looking out for them, and always makes sure to bring back stories from the world the crew visits for them to look at when they return from missions. Imagine [Name] gazing upon Dan Heng's true form as their eyes light up like stars, and they can't help but go on a lengthy tangent about how absolutely awesome he looks, and how they bet he's so super strong in this form (which like... he is!)

Just a kiddo having an absolute hayday as they find out their big brother figure is a dragon-person!

OHHH I LOVE THIS BRAINROT 🐉 anon must know me well.... i am a professional dan heng liker. also, to be fr with you all, i kind of already know what's up with dan heng LMAO the lore-reading instincts were too strong. dan heng il was sitting right there... what was i supposed to do, not listen to his voice lines and read what little i have unlocked in terms of his story? /lh so this brainrot is fine for me. i don't know everything but i do know enough to respond well to this brainrot, i think.

dan heng would be a good brother i think... blood really doesn't matter. what matters is that he formed a cute bond with this little nerd /aff who is always in the archives with him.

his little sibling will only be allowed to go on trailblaze missions when he feels that they're old and strong enough (even if himeko and mr yang are okay with letting [name] go, if dan heng isn't, then they are stuck on the express LMAO but i don't think they'd mind. they'd just chill in the archives and read while they wait). speaking of which, you know how dan heng has that very... martial art style of fighting? i think he teaches them how to fight properly because, you know, they'll need it. he's always very careful not to hurt them and offers them his quiet form of praise when they do well. AND MAYBE. when the trailblaze mission is concluded, and the astral express is still docked, he'll take them to whatever planet has been visited and will let them explore and observe that planet's unique properties. probably also takes them to a local bookshop. just dan heng having a cute outing with his bookworm little sibling once he knows it is safe to do so.

and ohhhhjshsjg hear me out. dan heng in his true form being so so protective of [name], moreso than he already was before (BECAUSE HEAR ME OUT: dragon instincts)... like. first trailblaze mission. [name]'s in danger. dan heng quietly picks them up, tells them not to look despite the fact that they aren't some naive little kid (to which they oblige, hiding their face in the junction between his neck and shoulder, a little embarrassed that they couldn't handle it themselves), supports their weight with one arm, and fucking WRECKS everything that posed a threat to their safety with the other hand.

AND CONSIDER wounded [name]...... dan heng being something of a hissy, overprotective older dragon brother and refusing to let anyone get too close to them until the other members of the astral express crew manage to talk him down (mostly himeko and welt i think...... march would make it worse unintentionally LMAOOO and stelle is. chaos. so. yeah), eventually managing to convince dan heng to hand over poor wounded [name] so that they can treat whatever wound they got. he's hovering over their shoulder the majority of the time anyway, though, and that's honestly probably really comforting. like yeah. maybe it's a little excessive. but he so blatantly cares a lot about their safety and i just think that would be so reassuring. him letting them squeeze his hand if it hurts too much........ i love playing around with nonhuman characters and how their more feral instincts manifest. dragon instinct dan heng.... cries he's so protective in my brain

but on an even cuter note--dan heng always picking up books and trinkets he thinks they would like while he's on trailblaze missions. he sees something and he's like.... wow.... [name] would like that....

and [name] rambling about how cool he looks and how strong he is *head in hands* PLEASEEE i think he'd be a bit embarrassed and maybe even a little uncomfortable but he knows they mean well.... and it grows on him. like. he starts to find it super cute and endearing :(((

Basilisk lizards can run on water! They live in rainforests, by the water. If they see a predator, like a snake or bird, trying to ambush them, then they jump out of their tree, and when they hit the water they start running. their feet are webbed in a way that allows them to run 15 feet before they start swimming. their tail helps them balance. 

Chinese water dragons have really fucking long tails. Like ⅔ of them is tail. It also lives near water, but instead of running on the water, it goes underneath it and hides. It can hold it’s breath for up to 25 minutes, and it swims fast enough to catch fish! Kind of like tUATARAS *gets shot* , they have a ‘third eye’ on the top of their head that detects light levels! excerpt from book, "this ability helps its body tune in to the rhythm of day and night and also to adjust its body temperature."

BALL PYTHONS. THE BEST DANGER NOODLE (IN MY VERY HUMBLE NOT BIASED OPINION). Instead of coiling up in the Traditional Snake Pose™ they curl up into a ball with their head in the middle. The ball is so tight that it can be rolled around and the little snek won’t get hurt! they normally hang out in their burrows, however. They hunt at night and are an Ally with the farmers bc they eat rodents. yay!

They can weigh as much as 550 pounds, which is half the size of a horse. Woah. females are bigger than males (gaslight gatekeep girlboss) and they are cool idk. THESE FUCKERS. I LOVE THEM. I AM SO PASSIONATE ABOUT THESE LIZARD-NOT-LIZARDS I COULD LITERALLY IMPLODE RIGHT NOW, i’m gonna repeat some information just so you know bljdkfjalkfbadba. They descended from an entirely different line of reptiles than lizards/snakes did, and they're the only ones left. The final reptile!!! *duna da na. Dada da da daaaa!!!!!* /j

It’s third eye is actually to detect light levels. Adult tuataras eat baby tuataras, that’s right they’re stupid idiot cannabils /aff

They take up to 35 years to reach full size and can’t reproduce until they are 10 or 20 years old. Eggs take 2 years to develop in the females body and after laying they take 16 months to hatch. The reason they are so chill is because they are adapted to New Zealands low temperatures, remaining active at much lower temperatures than other reptiles. They almost went extinct because of rats, but they have recovered fully now! 

They chew their food in a weird way, moving their lower jaw back and forth and cutting the food like scissors. Also sometimes they’ll find a seabird’s burrow and move in, even if they are currently living in the burrow. They’ll eat the eggs/chicks too. They literally just say “fuck you I live here now” and there’s nothing they can do about it its so funny akfjasfk.

The name Tuatara comes from the language of the Maori of New Zealand. It means ‘spiny back’.
