at this point, joe could shoot rashida tlaib and her whole family on live television and liberals and the most politically inept would still go "but you guys, project 2025 😬 also maybe if y'all had voted for hillary in 2016 this wouldn't have happen!"

now that trump is basically being handed another presidency in a perfectly wrapped bow, i cannot help but yet again lament on how insufferable folks will be super eager to point fingers at ~the left~ for being ineffective and unwilling to compromise their Purity Politics and praising conservatives for their ability to stick together instead of confronting the actual truth of the matter, which is that the dems and most vocal liberals had multiple chances and endless resources to actually engage with potential voters in marginalized groups, lean into what they labeled 'fringe issues', utilize their more "progressive" members and even try to appeal to folks who left the republican party and voted blue or third-party for the first time, but instead chose to slam the gate shut and antagonize their base.

love that the only critiques the republicans have is that it's 'not fair' that kamala is the presumptive nominee, because outside of climate, repro, and trans healthcare, both parties pretty much agree on increasing police power in the states and sending endless amounts of weapons and aid to Israel and Ukraine.
Like, if kamala wants to be taken seriously, she will have to walk back the ardent defense of Israel, her and the administration's flippant response to accessing public health resources with the surge of covid yet again - now that another sitting president has gotten infected multiple times, and needs to outwardly critique Cop City and the numerous controvesies surrounding the supreme court rulings and bribery.

'out of diplomacy and political civility, biden is imploring his voters to scratch out his name and write in trump's name on their ballots when they vote. as a sign of goodwill to his opponent, biden will also be beheading mike pence during an upcoming state of the union, where he and the rest of the biden administration will pledge allegiance to the future overlord.'

i have quietly realized over the past few years that yt women have a propensity to wallow in perpetual loserdom, politically - because they would rather be subhumans in a white supremacist society than an equal to others in a decolonised one, but to see how true that is and to see how much they are willing to kill the rest of us -and the world- to achieve it is still so shocking sometimes!

not to be vulnerable (HA!) but i am overwhelmed with fear for my brother who is incarerated in cali, especially with dems now once again being ruthless with carcerality and gavin newsom showing himself to be willing to step up to the plate. I knew there was a chance parole was abysmal but now it seems dead in the water...

even though the election is over, i am still bitterly, furiously amused that ppl that voted for kamala are still finding a way to blame jill for the dems and kamala's incompetence to even gain the popular vote.
if you were able to openly support kamala and hand-wave ethnic cleansing and apartheid as a single-issue and think that the dems digging their heels into neo-con policies were 'strategic' and necessary to win, then you had no place to nitpick an anti-genocide candidate's platform and all of a sudden have redlines, discernment, and high standards that didn't exist in the face of actual genocide being displayed before your very eyes.
anyone who saw kamala flip-flop, hem and haw and ramble nonsensically over important issues that are life-or-death for ppl and were waxing poetically about how much better things would be under her, has neither the expertise nor the leverage, and especially not the evidence, to accuse anyone of being foolish for supporting a "known scammer/grifter"
green party voters may have so called thown our votes away, but some of y'all have to live with the fact that you were willing to allow others to literally die if it meant you wouldn't be inconvenienced and she still couldn't promise y'all that

anyways... just voted and moving forward i shall no longer be upset at ppl ranting about how a vote for jill stein is a vote for trump... instead i will be crossing my fingers that the ballots actually get counted in full in my county/state... and i am just making provisions whenever i can for my family and community where possible, and I suggest others do the same?

one "positive" of this election is ppl are at least making their 'leftists are worst then conservatives because at least the comservatives will band together and vote red no matter what!' posts ahead of the results so i don't have to see that shit afterwards - i mean, they'll still make those posts but thanks for the warning!
SIDENOTE: maybe the 'why' conservatives flock to vote for repubs should be examined deeply (i.e. what the core values/long-term goals of the party and how that aligns with their voter base) and addressed more critically instead of something to be emulated!
UPDATE: with anti-trump conservatives refusing to flock to the polls for the republican ticket - yet again - what does that say about the devotion they have to their party, are they now ineffective and a hindrance?? and now that those types are being courted by the dems, while the most progressive members are being ousted and ostracized, what does that say about the dems core values and long-term goals??

like, I still can't get over ppl mocking others who are frustrated by the way things are and crave an progressive regime change.
"y'know you have to replace it with something, right? "Ppl are gonna die!" Are not gotchas because I think we're all aware that regime changes cause disruptions, and that ppl will die in the process - we've literally been living through a conservative regime change and watched ppl die from preventable viruses and state violence, abroad and nationally.
so telling ppl to not use their limited options to oppose the further regression of the society they have to live in because of the fear of conservative backlash, while also having no plans for when conservatives backlash even if Kamala wins, shows me that there is a revolution happening - just not a positive one.

all I have to say is, it is maddening to see ppl act as if a david duke troll endorsement would ever be as harmful as democrats cozying up to genocidal republicans to prove they're just as bloodthirsty.
posting his endorsement as a gotcha to leftists that support her to state that they're 'just as bad' shows that ppl are truly devoid of understanding the difference between someone being clearly anti-jewish/antisemitic versus someone who is anti-genocide and anti-apartheid.
like, it's fine and dandy for dems to constantly ~compromise~ with conservatives and centrists in order to win, but if a candidate with a progressive platform gets support from unintended voters NOW ppl wanna play purity politics??
like ppl choosing to vote for jill or learn more about the green party as an alternative are not fucking stupid idiots who secretly want trump to win - ppl have lost families, their way of life and their rights due to what is slowly turning into a militarized failed state and unless anyone has an ensured plan to push Kamala further left and stop committing to a genocidal and unpopular platform, the meaningless gotcha to ppl voting for a platform that gives them hope for actual progress and are just as fearful of a conservative regime is not a convincing argument!

the fact that the co chair of the DNC is bragging about making their first ad targeting Jill Stein, is so fucking pathetic at this point. There is so much suffering happening for in america - two back-to-back natural disasters where ppl still don't have enough resources, abortion funds are begging for more resources, ecological crises are escalating - on top of the chaos that Biden's foreign policy is causing economically and ecologically, and all you can say to combat unconvinced voters is Jill Stein will help Trump win???
Like, what are they doing to make Kamala even more viable to folks who don't live in the DNC echo chamber, because the ppl stuck in Asheville are fed up and tired, and clearly so are ppl living in the battleground states, and merely telling them to 'vote harder' for blues and calling Jill a 'spoiler' doesn't make Kamala's shitty platform look better!
