Happy ending to a busy Sunday of cleaning and organizing in preparation for traditional school for Mason and Kamari in just one more week 😳!!! We are Putting reading comprehension into action we read both "The Gruffalo" and "The Gruffalo's Child and watched both on Netflix with popcorn as a treat!! Today's Lesson is continuing with our phonics curriculum Chico is working on Aa,Bb,Cc,Dd and Ee I will be giving him an assessment the end of this week having him write those letters independently from his memory without the use of his workbooks. Mason is working on his reading and putting sentences together using his sight words that we review daily. Chico is also being introduced to small signal words (a, I) and when I read to them I have him find those words in our stories. Kamryn is working on signing the alphabet song as well as using fine motor skills places stickers of the letters on colorful construction paper. Morning learning routine!!! Headed to do our morning drop offs!! We continued our counting/number theme, and added shapes to the mix!!! Watching Akili and me! All this while heading into the office for my workday!! Monday's are very busy for our babies between summer camp, track and football it seems like we couldn't squeeze anything else in!!! But that's why we supplement our homeschooling!!! Today after working I grabbed the kids from camp and we came home to do a quick reading, comprehension, counting, learning the days of the week and memorizing lesson! We read the hungry caterpillar today with Mason and Chico as my co-readers 😊 we then watched the book on Netflix!!! (Their favorite part) this all took about 15 minutes to complete!! Quick lessons like these will be in the supplement homeschool toolkit to really help working, busy families like ours to still provide the homeschool experience for their children while not having to compromise income and stability. There are many ways to learn on the go!! Monday's are busy for our boys between summer camp, track and football practice but we must make time to invest in our children. After working today, picking the @thamessquad up from camp we made it home and still made time to do a quick reading, comprehension and memory lesson. We read the very hungry caterpillar and watch the book on Netflix!!! We picked this and a few other books up during our library trip this Saturday!!!! This lesson took about 15 minutes to complete. Tonight during bath time we will work on counting and have one more book to read before bedtime!! I'll also post our morning routine for in the car learning on the road!!!!
