Calendar Girl: January
Series Masterlist: Calendar Girl Joel Miller Masterlist Author: @wordywarriorwritesrwrites Summary: The story of how Joel Miller falls in love again, told over a series of months. Series Warnings: NSFW. Smut. Language. Violence. Discussions of rape and consent. Alcohol consumption. Age-gap.
January
“Don’t pull,” Joel instructed. “Just squeeze.”
Still unused to the kick and noise, you hesitated on the follow-through, and the first shot only winged the target. After he reminded you of your stance and hand placement, you aimed and fired again. The second bullet had been much closer to the mark, and the third better still.
After you popped off the remaining rounds, Joel complimented your progress, and gave you some additional tips on your handling and timing. You were a fast learner; he knew you’d only improve with time and practice, and after he’d reloaded and returned the gun to you, you went again, and hit the target five out of seven rounds.
“Ready to move onto something with a bit more firepower?” Joel asked as he dumped the shells.
“Go big or go home,” you laughed.
Ellie smiled and nudged your shoulder, “You going to be patrolling regularly?”
You shook your head, “I don’t think so. But I want to be ready to fill in - just in case.”
As you and Ellie chatted, Joel prepped his Mossberg 500. While he loaded, he wondered if you’d ever had to shoot your way out of a bad situation, if you’d ever needed to defend yourself in the ways Ellie had, or if you’d been forced to do other things - like some of the things he’d done - in order to survive.
He’d never bothered to ask if you’d taken out a clicker or killed a human being before - not that it would’ve mattered, or changed the way he felt about you. After all, he’d done more than his fair share of killing and had no right to judge anyone. Since the threat of violence always simmered just beneath the surface, knowing how to shoot was not only smart, it was a valuable, life-saving skill Joel thought everyone should learn.
Especially you.
“I like my knife,” Ellie stated as she showed it off. “Saved my ass many times, but after I learned how to shoot - well, I just feel safer now, you know?”
You made a noise of agreement, “I get it.”
He handed the shotgun over to Ellie, and after he advised you to cover your ears, she fired off a few. There was a significant difference between the Taurus Model 66 (his preferred weapon of choice) and a pump action. By having Ellie demonstrate, he hoped you’d feel more confident trying it, and be prepared to practice with and use a rifle in future. After Ellie emptied it, he took the shotgun apart, explained the innerworkings, and guided you through cleaning, reassembly, and loading.
By the time you finished putting it back together, it had gotten too dark to continue on with target practice, so, he called an end to the lesson for the day. After the weapons had been checked back in and secured in the town’s armory, the three of you left the makeshift shooting range, and walked to the mess hall for dinner. Ellie had been quick to ditch you both in favor of her friends, and after Joel followed you through the chow line for his serving of spaghetti and salad, he took a seat on the bench across from you at the table.
“So, you gonna tell me the real reason why you wanna learn how to shoot?” he asked.
You picked up your fork and knife, “I told you why.”
“I offered to teach you last year,” Joel replied as he rested his forearms on the table. “You refused - said you weren’t comfortable with it. What’s changed?”
While you looked down at your plate and stabbed at your leafy greens, he stared at you and willed you to speak. You’d been weird and standoffish since Christmas. In fact, Joel would go so far as to say you’d done a spectacular job of avoiding him almost entirely, and he’d grown tired of it.
“You gonna talk to me?” he prodded. “Or am I only your friend when you need somethin’?”
You jerked your head up. Slammed your fork down. Mirrored his posture. Gaze now completely direct and full of fire, you asked him when he learned and who’d taught him.
“I grew up in Texas. Was practically born with a rifle in my hand,” he shrugged. “Dad taught me when I turned seven, maybe eight. What does that have to do with anything?”
“Well, I used to be a trust fund brat, remember? And the only thing my parents ever taught me was how to be seen and not heard,” you snapped back lowly. “So, when the world went to shit, what do you think happened to me and girls like me? Huh?”
Joel knew some things about your past, about your life from before. Over a few too many at the bar one night, you’d compared battle scars. Swapped some of the grittier war stories. Neither of you had gone too deep into the weeds, though, because the pain had been too raw, and you’d both wanted to think about other things. You told him you’d lost your entire family the first night, that you’d seen unimaginable horrors since then, but he’d hoped such horrors hadn’t been inflicted on you.
After a stretch of silence, you cleared your throat, and kicked up your chin, “I don’t want pity, alright? I just… It’s well past time I learned how to protect myself.”
He nodded, “Whatever you need.”
You sat up straighter and reached for your fork, “And I’m sorry for avoiding you. With everything that’s happened… Well, I’m an absolute shitshow and not really the best company right now.”
Joel tentatively reached out and placed a hand on your forearm, “Hey, there’s nothin’ to be sorry for. And I’d rather see the shitshow than have you lower the curtain on me.”
“You want to see the drama unfold?” you snorted.
He smirked. Squeezed gently. You sighed and placed your hand over his. Joel looked at you and you looked at him, and without saying a word, you understood each other. It just flowed between you, effortless and uncomplicated. Many things had been left unsaid, but it was as if you both knew those things didn’t need to be said all at once. Time was not guaranteed and life was even shorter and more precious, but there wasn’t any rush to rake up the past just yet.
Especially not when there was a present and a future to be considered.
“You got time tomorrow for another lesson?” Joel wondered.
You took a bite of salad and thought for a moment before you spoke, “Morning’s free.”
He twirled some spaghetti and brought it toward his mouth, “I’ll meet you at your place.”
Having aired it out, conversation flowed freer and supper went down easier. A half hour later, he checked in with Ellie, who was still in the thick of it with her friends. With a promise that she’d be home in an hour, Joel offered to walk you to your place, and you accepted.
“Listen, uh, do you have anything at home?” he wondered, eyes on the icy ground and hands shoved in deep in his pockets. “Something to protect yourself with?”
“Broken baseball bat,” you said as you yanked on your hat and sidestepped a snow mound. “And dull kitchen knives. Those count?”
Joel didn’t have it in him to tell you that they didn’t count for much. That when it came down to it, you’d probably only have one chance to hit or stab someone - especially if that someone was faster and bigger than you. And if you were taken by surprise, overpowered, or knocked out cold, those weapons could be taken from you and used against you. At least with a gun and decent aim, you’d stand a chance of either scaring a would-be attacker off or wounding them bad enough to get away.
“Why do you ask?” you prompted.
Joel glanced over his shoulder to make sure you were alone before he spoke again.
“I know it’s against town policy to keep firearms in our homes,” he voiced quietly. “But I have two hidden away. One is a nine-millimeter. You could handle it. And it’s yours - if you want it.”
You nodded, “I’ll take it.”
It wasn’t until your house came into view that you gently grabbed his elbow and pulled him to a stop. Snowflakes drifted, landed on the hood of your coat, and you practically vibrated with shivers. The icy wind aggravated his nose, and his fingers felt as if they’d gone numb, but he didn’t dare move - not with you so close, and especially not when you placed your mitten-covered hands on his shoulders, stood on tiptoe, and pressed a kiss to his cheek.
“Thank you,” you murmured. “Night, Joel.”
Joel dipped his chin. Bid you goodnight as well. Watched you climb the stairs and go inside before he turned around and headed in the opposite direction.
He was warm all the way home.

@eledrar gets a plotted thing.
Hours turned to days. Both her eldest sons had promised to do their duty to deliver letters to assure their mothers succession to the throne. To ensure those that were far and out of the direct line of fight, that when the time came they would bend the knee to the rightful true heir. Jacaerys had succeeded in completing his task and had returned unscathed and his brother was supposed to have been before him. Yet the second born, heir to Driftmark had not made his return.
Panic had set into the queens chest, rattling her to the core when news broke. Further panic spread when news of Aemond and his dragon had been spotted at Storm's End around the same time Lucerys had. Having that knowledge had settled in the pit of her stomach like a heavy stone that dragged her down under crushing waves. Her husband, the king consort, did his best to calm her, to reassure her that their son was a strong dragon-rider, that he was smart. Yet even she could hear the doubt in Daemon's tone, in his eyes and how he looked at her.
The queen would hear none of it, nor would she listen to the warnings and pleas for her to remain at Dragonstone. Her son was missing and if he was dead, she would be the one to find his body and bring him home. So she had saddled up Syrax and took her place before setting out to search for her second born, the boy that she would refuse to believe was growing like a mighty oak. Every passing day he looked more and more like his true father and it was both a comfort and caused her pain for many reasons.
But for four days Rhaenyra searched the surrounding areas. For four days she did not drink, eat, nor sleep. She would not allow herself nor could she, not until she knew for certain of her sons fate. She did not know where the boy or his dragon would have landed or if they had fallen into the sea and been washed up somewhere else. But Syrax knew, somehow ( mother's intuition, a connection only the large beasts had with one another ) but she had urged her rider to circle back around Storm's End and to look closer.
And she would forever be thankful to the she-dragon for disobeying commands. Through a break in the clouds, the mother saw the reflection of scales that she knew were to be her sons dragon Arrax. So with further urgency, she came to land nearby before dismounting and running towards the heap of dragon that remained, praying to the Gods that her son lived. That she would be bringing him home to recover rather than bringing him home to send him off as true dragon-rider.
"Lucerys..." she whispered when she finally drew near, vision blurred with unshed tears. Chest heaved as she looked over the bloody mess that surrounded the boy. "Luke...Ñuha tresy kostilus ivestragon mirros. Ivestragī nyke gīmigon ao glaesagon [My son please say something. Let me know you live.]" she implored as she began to pull pieces of the dragon from him, hands shaking from emotions ( the lack of sleep and food were to blame as well. )

The smart vanity mirror with lights and Bluetooth speakers’ piece should be of the two-way variety. Contrary to popular belief, those mirrors in interrogation rooms are in fact two-way, not one-way. They simply allow the brighter room to be visible and the darker mirrors for home gym to be mirrored. This works in the Canada smart mirror approach as we presume the monitor backlight will be the brightest thing in the frame. I used a piece of mirrored acrylic plastic from Amazon as it was concerning £15 instead of over a hundred for glass. But goblet will provide a much better, less distorted reflection.

mirror [perciver]
AUTHOR’S NOTES :
Hello everyone! I’ve had this one in my drafts probably just as long as the Charlie oneshot, but I was unmotivated to type it due to just how massive it is! This was actually requested by @mavkasilas who requested a fluffy oneshot. I am so sorry it took so long, I hope this is up to your standards and that you’ll enjoy this! Thank you so much for requesting this!
To anyone else who wants to request things, drop it in my inbox anytime. Soon, I’ll also add an official thing where I say which ships I will do and which ones I won’t and such. Cheers!
~~
The mirror of Oliver Wood and Percy Weasley’s bathroom at Hogwarts had seen many things, too many for it to not be amusing. If it were animate, it would have made a running commentary about one of the two boys in particular, a certain Oliver Wood. This was not due to his looks, no matter how handsome he may have been, nor was this about his bathroom habits, though they were cluttered and chaotic. No, this was about his many ramblings, his many monologues that even Shakespeare himself would find entertainment in.
The first time was in the winter of 1989, Oliver’s third year. The snow fell with grace, each snowflake being admired by those who watched bundled up in warm clothes from closed windows. Children threw snowballs at one another, their merry laughter ringing through the atmosphere. The sky was the palest shade of white and the grey clouds hung low in the frosty air.
Oliver Wood had not been one of those people. No, in that moment, he wore no shirt and he shivered in front of the mirror. His hands clutched the counter beneath him with a deathly strong grip, his knuckles paling at the action. His entire face was flushed, both from the cold and his own feelings.
“Why am I so angry? I should be happy! Happy thoughts, Oliver, happy thoughts. Percy is your friend, yes, of course he is, he’s your best friend! But you’re angry that he called you one? What kind of idiot are you?” Oliver groaned, leaning forward and spreading his arms across the marble counter.
His head hung low, attempting to process everything racing inside his head.
“I don’t like it when he calls me his friend, why? Because I don’t want to be his friend! No, I wanna be close still but not friend close. Mirror, do you know what I mean?”
Of course it didn’t, after all, its abilities didn’t extend far beyond showing the reflection of whatever stood in front of it. Oliver sighed, releasing his right hand from the murderous clutch and using it to let the mirror hold some of his weight instead.
“Great, you don’t talk.” Oliver scoffed, “Aren’t you helpful?”
He removed the hand from the mirror and ran it through his hair. He tugged at the roots lightly, just enough for him to feel a jolt of discomfort.
“I don’t want to be his friend, but I don’t want him to be without me. I don’t want him to stay but I don’t want him to leave, either. Merlin, I wish there was a manual on this stuff. ‘Confusion Through the Ages’ would be a bestseller, I’m sure.” He snickered cynically, frustrated at himself, “What am I thinking? He’s my best friend! We share a dorm together, we get along real swell, he’s real bonnie too, especially the blue eyes and freckles, really smart too. The only person I would ever blush at if I was caught in a- oh.”
This seemed to be the moment of realisation for Oliver, who lowered his right hand to the counter once more. The noise reverberated throughout the entire room, though Oliver couldn’t care less if he tried. Percy was away for Christmas; it wasn’t as though he would hear anything.
“I have a crush on him. On Percy, my best mate Percy. My best friend who likes following the rules because they were ‘implemented for a reason’, who actually likes doing homework, who’s taking 12 classes because ‘if Bill can do it, I can too’. He folds all of his socks for Merlin’s sake!
Oliver exhaled long and deep after that brief rant. He tilted his head up to search his reflection in the mirror for a sign, any sign. A cue or signal that he wasn’t as far in as he thought he was. Seconds passed, there were none. He then hung his head.
“I’m a lost cause.”
--
The autumn of 1991 was another significant season. It was barely the beginning of September yet there were already teenagers creating piles of leaves to jump in and crush. This year, autumn had come earlier than usual. The leaves were already being painted in a variety of nature’s best colours by the influence of the season. The windy days seemed even more frequent than they were last year, though the rain was behaving itself slightly more so than usual. Many had taken the time out of their busy schedules to appreciate the wonderful scenery.
Oliver Wood, however, did not happen to be one of those students.
“Ugh!”
He slammed the door, creating a loud bang that Percy would’ve scolded him for it he was there to hear it. He wasn’t angry, just humiliated. Humiliated at himself for failing as terribly as he did.
“Can’t believe I just did that, I’m a fucking idiot.” He moaned, dragging a hand over his face. “I was meant to tell him, today! Not do whatever the bloody hell this was.”
Oliver paced in the bathroom up and down, not daring to glance at himself in the mirror. His eyes were fixated onto whatever was in front of him, which prominently featured the door and the shower; along with the blur one saw when spinning quickly.
“So I told him that I had a crush on someone, and naturally, he asks who it is. Instead of saying it was him, like I probably should have, I tell him to guess. Guessing never ends well, everyone knows that. And by ‘well’, I mean snogging in a broom closet with the person you have a crush on kind of well.”
Oliver sighed. This wasn’t getting any easier to speak about. If the mirror was animate, it would’ve stifled giggles at the sight before it. Oliver’s humiliation was indeed very amusing, and it was a genuine travesty that no one was there to witness it.
“Then, he starts guessing. I provide my hints. Really smart, blue eyes, bonnie. And get this! Get this! He guesses himself, correctly may I add, and I tell him he’s wrong. Now, I apparently have a crush on Miss Penelope Clearwater! I would be one unfortunate soul if I actually had a crush on her, seeing as I caught her kissing one of the fifth-year female prefects just last week!” he huffed, finally stilling to catch his breath.
“I was meant to tell him I had had feelings for him, not that I didn’t! I’m an idiot. I’ll have to try again next year, waiting just long enough for my ‘crush’ on Clearwater to fade.” Oliver sighed, approaching the mirror and placing his palms flat against it in defeat.
--
He did not end up asking Percy out in the year of 1992. Nor in 1993. It was the spring of 1994; Oliver’s seventh year was coming to a close quicker than he would like to ponder upon. Exams were creeping upon him with a speed he didn’t realise they were capable of, and the time before the last Quidditch match seemed to halve by the hour. The flowers were as vibrant as ever and the green leaves of the tall trees in the Forbidden Forest and in the courtyard glowed under the attention of the rare Scottish sun. However, most days, the clouds hung over the castle ominously. Rain created puddles in dips of the concrete. Dementors guarded any outside happiness students may have been able to acquire. Hogwarts was no longer as safe as it once may have been, but it was still home.
A freshly showered Oliver Wood stood in front of the mirror. His hair was peeled to his forehead or to other parts of his head, it was soaked. Water dripped from the strands of hair onto the floor, though he didn’t care to notice it. His eyes were fixated onto his own reflection, as if looking for what may be out of place. He was focused, creating a plan the way he revised Quidditch strategies.
“I have to do it today at the party. He’ll be there, to supervise even though he hates parties. He’ll be sober, he’ll be there, it’s going to be perfect. I have to ask him out now, or it’ll never happen.” Oliver rambled, his hands animatedly gesturing in an attempt to prove a point.
“Alright, so, at the party. I’ll… ask him to dance! Yeah, I’ll do that. Then we slow dance, I confess, we kiss, I ask him out, he says yes, everything is perfect! But what if he rejects me… what will I do then?”
Oliver moaned and shook his head. He ran a hand through his hair and it lingered there, dragging against his scalp before coming to a halt all together.
“I’ll just… focus on Quidditch! Yes, that’s a great idea. I’ll just focus on that. Only spend time with the team, come back to the dorm late, try not to cry, alright! I have a plan; I have a plan.” He breathed deeply through his mouth languidly.
“But he won’t reject me, right Mirror? I think he’ll say yes, actually. I know he’s into Quidditch players and strong guys with a lot of sweetness. I happen to think of myself as both things, I just hope he’ll say yes!”
Oliver grinned widely from ear to ear, eyes shining with hope.
“I hope he says yes.”
--
The pre-finals party in the Gryffindor common room was the busiest party of the year apart from the post-final party that would be happening if they won, and Oliver would make the most of it. The chasers on the team had truly gone above and beyond with the décor, food, atmosphere and music of the party. The twin beaters had brought enough alcohol for the next party, guaranteeing that everyone in that room would be staying in there from sunset to sunrise.
Sweaty bodies entangled in one another’s embrace on the dance floor where an American pop single blared from the boombox on top of the fireplace. Oliver held a cup of firewhiskey in his hand, searching for Percy nervously. He soon found Percy’s fiery curls amongst the bustling students. He sat alone at a table in the back corner of the room, nursing what seemed to be a glass of water grumpily.
“Hey Perce, back corner working out for you?”
Percy sighed wistfully, taking a sip of water before speaking.
“So many rules have been broken, too many to count. There are fourth years here, drinking alcohol and partying, I’m willing to wager that some of them aren’t even 15 yet! There are reasons why the law is in place, and those reasons happen to be very valid!” Percy huffed.
Oliver placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed sympathetically. His heart was racing wildly and adrenaline rushed through his veins. His cheeks were pink from the crowded atmosphere and the heat engulfing the room. This was it; he was going to do it now.
“So, uh…” he trailed off.
“Uh…?” Percy continued, gesturing to Oliver to spit it out.
“Do you- uh… want to dance? With me? On the dance floor?” He rubbed the back of his neck nervously and let out a small laugh.
Percy blinked at him in confusion, tilting his head as if attempting to read him. Oliver shifted from foot to foot, what if Percy said no? He’d need a whole different plan; Oliver didn’t think he’d be able to survive without Percy at least knowing of and acknowledging his feelings. Besides, Percy didn’t like dancing, or singing, or anything remotely embarrassing really.
“Sure, I’d like to.” Percy accepted with a small smile, standing from his seat and making sure to push his chair in behind him.
Oliver grinned, offering his hand to him. Percy took the hand in his, his smile widening discreetly once they touched. Oliver’s heart pounded in his chest, booming in time to the music blaring in the common room. He led Percy onto the dance floor and released his hand reluctantly.
“What- what do I do?” Percy questioned him, staring at the other dancers with some apprehension.
“Just mirror me, you’ll be alright. And try to relax. If you’re too stiff, you’ll look like you’re on the edge of collapse.”
If it weren’t for the red-coloured lights that hung above them, Oliver would have seen Percy’s pink cheeks and flaming red ears. If it weren’t for the blaring music, he would have been able to hear the deep breathing he attempted to soothe his heart with. However, Oliver remained oblivious to Percy’s plight and remained immersed in his own instead.
He swayed to the slower, sexier song that played, his hips shaking from side to side and his shoulders bouncing to the beat. Percy copied him, or at least, attempted to. He was far too stiff, his shoulders squared and his back straight. Oliver moved closer to Percy, his hands directing themselves to his shoulders.
“Come on Perce, you have to relax a bit.” Oliver soothed.
Oliver’s hands moved to Percy’s lower back, pulling him in even closer. Percy made a strangled noise of surprise and placed his own arms around Oliver’s neck. The two swayed in time to the seductive lyrics, Percy relaxing more and more after each individual line. Oliver couldn’t help but smile.
“That better?”
Percy nodded and stepped a single step closer, his face now mere inches apart from Oliver’s own. Oliver’s cheeks reddened and his eyes darkened.
“Perce…” he began roughly, leaning in to touch Percy’s forehead with his own.
Percy’s breath hitched at the touch. For Oliver, this was it. The next phase of the plan. The kiss. Oliver inhaled deeply, just about to pull him closer, flush against him, when Percy suddenly pushed him away.
“Can we talk? Outside of here, I mean. Somewhere quieter.” Percy speaks loudly over the music, though the volume didn’t help to hide his nerves.
A disappointed Oliver nodded, stepping back as though he had been burned. What could Percy possibly want to talk about? He didn’t trust himself to speak, so he obediently followed Percy away from the wild party behind them and to a cold corridor not far from the Gryffindor common room. Oliver shuddered, hunching his shoulders and wrapping his arms around himself. The bitter wind hit the place only slightly, though it was enough to nearly freeze the two.
“Sorry, didn’t mean for it to be so cold.” Percy uttered, casting a warming charm over the both of them.
Oliver shook his head in forgiveness, all he was concerned about was Percy. What did he need to talk about? Now that they were in a better light, Oliver noticed that Percy’s ears and cheeks were burning and that his eyes were downcast. He tried to shove his concern for his friend down, though it couldn’t help but stick.
“Perce? What happened?”
Percy sighed, lifting his trembling hands, trying to explain what he was feeling without words. Oliver held onto his hands, clasping them inside his own for warmth.
“Perce?”
“I have feelings, okay! Feelings!” He exclaimed frantically.
Oliver frowned in confusion, massaging Percy’s hands with his thumb.
“I know you do, Perce. Of course you do. You’re human, we all have feelings.”
Percy huffed in frustration, crossing his arms in annoyance.
“No, no, no! Not general feelings, feelings-feelings! For you. I always have…”
Feelings-feelings. For him. Percy Weasley, who was flawless, having feelings for Oliver Wood? Oliver’s eyes widened and a hint of a smile appeared on his face. He had hoped for this for so long, had wanted this for longer than he would ever know.
“Romantic feelings?” Oliver questioned with a strong Scottish accent, causing Percy’s breath to hitch.
“Yes! Yes.”
In the moonlight, the two boys shared relieved expressions, inching closer with every breath. Some sharp inhales and long exhales later, and the two finally came together, just as they were always meant to be.

Savanah Fair Story Part 1
“We made it!” Furo stretched as they landed out of the Mirro’s portal. They looked back to see the group of friends that tagged along. There were the three from Heartslabyul - Thais, Blake, and Pip - Aurora, Slyvan, Anastasia, Basil, Ceridwen, and Razalie.
Furo waved their arms to display the scenery. “Welcome to the Afterglow Savannah everybody!” It was bright with the sun beaming down on them. Flat top trees sprinkled across the expansive grasslands. The silhouettes of animals dotted the horizon.
The crowd looked around each other and the surroundings. “It really is a beautiful place. So open and peaceful,” Ana commented as she stared off in the distance.
“I think so too! But I have a quick question, Furo,” Aurora walked forward. “Where’s the fair? Or the town for that matter.” There was a moment’s pause. Nowhere in the horizon was there a smudge of a town.
“Oh, yeah. It’s a bit away from the portal. My siblings are supposed to come get us...” Furo tried to scan the area. “I guess we can wait here till they get here.”
“While we’re waiting, I have something to give you,” Blake took out an envelope and held it out to Furo. “My dad sends his regards and a donation!”
“Oh goodness, thank you! I’ll make sure it gets to my mom!” Furo carefully placed it in their personal bag. They sat in the grass.
“So, your siblings,” Thais sat down beside them. “What are they like?”
“Oh, they’re awesome!” Furo lit up. “My big sis works in the magic department of the capital and my bro is a herbologist by day and a music producer by night!”
“That’s amazing!”
“What about your parents, Furo senpai?” Pip joined them on the ground. “You’ve mentioned they’re teachers, right?”
“Yep! Both teachers! Super smart!” Furo continued. “Just a head up though: my dad isn’t as scary as he may seem.”
“Wh-why is he considered scary?” Slyvan nervously asked. “Is he mean?”
“Not at all!” Furo quickly said. “He’s just...intimidating.”
“He can’t be worse than the twins,” Ceridwen mentioned. Pip shuddered at the mention of the eels. Anastasia nodded in agreement. “I’m sure he’s a sweetheart, like his youngest.”
“Exactly!” Furo smiled. They caught sight of a growing figure quickly approaching. “Oh, that must be them!”
A large vehicle came zooming across the grasslands. It honked an obnoxious rhythm as it came closer. “Yeah...that’s them,” Furo sighed. As the group’s transportation came to a stop in front of them, two taller figures exited. A man came out of the driver’s side had shaved sides and small black locs pulled back in a ponytail. He had lighter skin than Furo with a multitude of moles all over his face and body. He had wide brimmed glasses and small gold earrings.
“Where is my M.P?” he boomed with a large smile.
“V.P.!!” Furo ran up and gave him a hug.
“What? No love for your sis?” a teasing tone came from the other side. A slender female with a plethora of ear piercings and dark, earthy skin came around the car. She had an afro in a sunset hue and light freckles. Her expression was stern, but a small smile was there.
“All the love for you, Giri!” Furo gave her a hug. When they let go, they introduced everyone. “Guys, this is my sister Nilgiri and my brother Vormel. Giri, V.P., these are some of my friends from NRC.”
“Hi M.P.’s friends!” Vormel waved at them.
“Hello,” Nilgiri simply nodded in their direction. “Let’s get you all loaded up and headed into town. V.P., pack up their things.”
“Yes Ma’am,” Vormel gave a slight eyeroll. He nudged Basil as he passed him, “Swear she only brought me to do all the labor.”
“Yes, I did,” Nilgiri gave him a smirk as she crossed her arms.
“I’d be happy to assssist you,” Bassil offered.
“Thanks bro!” V.P. slung an arm over his shoulder and dragged him to work.
“The rest of you, feel free to pile in.” Nilgiri opened the doors so that the students could find a seat.
“Thank you, Furo-senpai’s Big Sis!” Pip chirped.
Everyone started to seat themselves. Furo bounced in place as they watched everyone. They noticed Rozalie being a bit sluggish. “Hey, Rozalie-senpai? You okay?”
“Ah, my apologies Furo. I am happy to be here, but...I do not fare well in the heat,” Rozalie explained. “Or the cold for that matter.”
“Oh!! I forgot that others aren’t use to this weather! I’m sure we can think of a way to cool you off once we get to my house,” Furo began to fret over their senior.
“No need to worry. I’ll be fine,” Rozalie tried to ease their mind. “Let’s just heat out. I believe the others are waiting.”
“Okay, but speak up if you feel faint!” They sat themselves after Rozalie and Basil found their own seat. When Vormel took his place in the driver’s seat, Furo said, “Alright! Off we go!”

Pasadena is home to many surprising and hidden midcentury moderns, like this really impressive residence.
Parking the Alfa Romeo out front was a smart move.
A key to good midcentury modern design is whether or not it holds up now as something that still looks like the future, and this absolutely does it.
Sightline is incredible.
The original “open concept”.
I’m a real sucker for this modern take on a classic courtyard.
Endless geometry.
It’s a challenge to get the furniture right in these situations without looking like “oh yeah, we spent a weekend at IKEA” or “these are purpose-built design pieces no one would actually use in their homes”. This table is a good example of something that’s well-designed and also useful.
Fig 1. “How to place a beam without being obtrusive”
Even simple features like a hallway are done in a unique and exciting way with this type of design.
Modern but also comfortable bedroom here.
Those mirros with integrated lights are neat.
A skylight and clean, bright walls really make what could be an otherwise stuffy bedroom into an open, airy space.
Furniture fits absolutely perfectly with the space here. Not minimal and not messy.
Even the smaller bathrooms look good.
The outdoor courtyard at daytime. Spacious and sun-soaked.
From the rear facing back towards the home, you can see how simple the shape and layout is and how it just works.
More outdoor space - this time with firepit.
Relaxing (even though those wire chairs are a pain to sit in).

Accidental Stabbing (Richie Tozier x Reader)
Richie Tozier x Fem!Reader
*Please don’t plagiarize my work, thank you :3*
Summary: You tried to stay out of trouble, really you did. But while running from Henry Bowers, you bump into the only group people who seemed to have noticed you since your arrival at Derry. One particularly stupid boy in thick glasses catches your attention as you ‘accidentally’ stab Henry.
Warnings: Cursing, stabbing someone (I mean… duh), blood, mention of assault, mention of cult activities (it sounds worse that it is, but holy fuck I sound satanic).
Word Count: 1,312
Being a resident of Derry officially sucked ass. Seriously. You glanced behind you as you ran and saw that Henry Bowers was still close behind, shoving little kids and adults alike. Your head snapped back to face front and you prayed that your legs could carry you just a little bit more. Ever since moving here a two months ago, there were a specific group of people you knew to avoid, even if it meant always being quiet and keeping your head down. Not that you were quiet in real life, but it was best not to trigger the anger that you kept locked away. Henry shouted something about you being a slut, his voice louder and closer. Your throat was growing tight and dry but the adrenaline kept you moving, sprinting through the town, ducking under people’s arms, sidestepping old folks, trying not to trample toddlers… All because the Patrick kid from Henry’s gang thought your shorts were too small. Well he can go fuck himself. You think, pumping your arms and legs faster. Fuckin’ pervert.
Deep in thought, you didn’t notice the more crowded intersecting roads of the marketplace and the dense crowd that came with it. You skidded to a halt just as the curb ended, earning a loud honk from at least five cars, curses being shouted from inside. I can’t cross now… Shit! Bowers and his trolls were barely five meters away. You spun on your heel and ran down the empty lots of the town’s center, not acknowledging the group of kids that blocked the sidewalk. They turned their heads at the loud footsteps and Henry’s cussing, noticing you for the first time.
“Motherf-” You cut yourself off, squeezing past two taller boys and ducking under one kid's fanny pack.
“Shit, sorry-comin’ through-sorry,” You yell as you try your best to politely push them aside, then shout another apology over your shoulder. “I’m sorry!”
“You’re dead!” Henry roars back, probably knocking over the other kids to get to you.
You briefly turn around and start running backwards, purely to shout: “EAT SHIT BOWERS!” and turn back, cackling maniacally. Yeah, being chased by him was fucking terrifying, but yelling that was so much fun.
You were confused when another set of voices mixed with Henry’s.
“You know I don’t run!”
“Shut the hell up a-and help her!”
“I’m on it, okay?”
A hand grabbed yours, yanking you back into someone. You looked up to see Henry towering over you, yelling for his friends to catch someone.
“She’s got backup!”
What the fuck? Backup? Henry lifted you off the ground by your collar, kicking your feet in hopes of hitting him. You gripped the neckline of your shirt, trying to tug it down, the air was being cut off completely and your face turning blotchy red. Your hand itched to the back pocket of your shorts, the switchblade peeking out from the fabric. This was it, you were going to get killed. Or raped. Or drowned in the creek. One moment he was holding you up and the next you were dropped on the floor and the humanoid gorillas that were Henry and his gang were circling the group of kids from before. You landed painfully on the bumpy gravel road, scraping your hands and knees, the little rocks digging into and leaving red spots on your skin. You spit blood and saliva on the concrete, reaching with shaking hands for the switch blade that had fallen out of your pocket.
Looking at the kids closer, you realized why they were so familiar; they were in all of your classes. The taller ones were Bill and Stan, you were sure of it. The one with the fanny pack was Eddie, and the kid with giant glasses…was being punched to death. You decided to call him Glasses for now.
You sprang up, flicking the blade out just as Glasses was shoved backward. Poor boy stumbled over a pebble and nearly fell over, earning a round of laughter from Henry’s gang.
“Come on, do something!” Henry taunts, pushing Glasses back again. He plucked the thick spectacles off the boy’s nose and chucked them behind his back. “Your little girlfriend’s gonna get it anyways. C’mon! Hit me!”
In a feeble attempt, Glasses sloppily swung his fist at Henry’s face but Patrick caught it in his hand and twisted the boy’s arms around to near breaking point. Glasses bit his lip to keep from groaning, trying to act tough. Your temper flared again, boiling dangerously high. Maybe that was what finally snapped inside, because the next second you stabbed Henry in the thigh and slashed his jeans open, pulling back and brandishing the knife. Everyone backed up as you pointed it at every boy in turn, your eyes darting around.
“B-back the hell up,” You snarl. “D-don’t fucking come any closer or I’ll spear you like that hooker speared your mom.”
Despite being on the ground, Glasses sniggered. Henry snapped out of his trance and advanced, his hand outstretched to grab you. You panicked. Like, your mind completely shut down and instinct took over. Not thinking of any consequences, you lunged forward and buried the blade in Henry’s palm, pulling it out to raise it above your head, ready to strike again. Belch and Patrick began shouting and turned to run the other way. Henry gave you one last loath filled look and ran after them, cradling his limp hand.
You exhaled and dropped the knife at your side, crouching down to pick up the stupid boy’s glasses. He was already on his feet, yelling something along the lines of “Go suck a dick!” and “Crawl back into hell you dirty son of a-”
You gently tapped his shoulder. Glasses spun around, surprised to see you standing there. Before you could chicken out, you took his thick lensed spectacles, hastily wiped them off with the corner of your t-shirt and placed them carefully on his face. He stared at you, his face, ears and neck slowly turning a nice shade of light pink.
“Thanks.” You say, watching the glasses fall down the bridge of his nose.
“I-uh, no p-problem.” He mutters. “He’s a mullet wearing asswipe, and um-you stabbed him, holy shit…”
“Yes, why did you stab him?” The curly haired boy you were sure was Stan, asked.
You smiled bashfully, kind of proud of yourself, in a weird way. “I always carry a switchblade… Guess it actually made itself pretty useful.”
“Pretty…” Glasses mumbles. His eyes widen and he fumbles to correct his mistake. “Pretty useful! Yup, the knife was-it was smart. Very smart!”
His eyes distracted you. Forget the fact that they the nicest doe eyes you’d ever seen without glasses on, but with glasses they were magnified to be even more innocent looking than before. Weird… Isn’t this the kid who wrote “you’re almost uglier than your mom’s vagina” on Gretta Keene’s yearbook?
“I’m Richie Tozier.” He says, offering you his hand to shake. You take it.
“I’m-”
“Please,” Eddie scoffs. “He already knows your name, don’t you Richie?”
“Go wipe your mom’s ass!”
“Not funny! At all!”
“If you wanna see something funny go look in a mirro-”
You laugh, enjoying the banter. So this is what it’s like to have friends. Sort of. “Whatever group you guys are in, I wanna join.”
“It’s more of a cult, really,” Richie drawls, watching you dust off your shorts. “The blood sacrifices are every Wednesday.”
“Cool,” You say passively, liking his odd sense of humor. How you hadn’t gotten to know his name before this baffled you. “I’ll gut the dead animals. See you at school!”
“Yeah!” Richie calls at your retreating form. “See you…”
While walking away, you could have sworn you heard someone yell “Whipped!”, followed by a loud whack and cursing. You smiled to yourself. It was going to be a good year.

Yaaay!! Thank you Soraya's inbox, sorry i blamed you on eating the last ask😂😘. You did great. Nono, he wasnt a torero, he looked like a prince. (Which is not better bcs i dont like any of those figures but... whatever). Ooh, talking about suits, did you see the ranking hsfashionarchive did of the suits he wore this tour? Bcn was winning, pink suit was second and Mdd was third!! (1)
[I hope this works 😜🙏🏻, bc this was TOO long, jajajaa.]
Ohhh. Your mom is the best. So supportive! Petition to give her that award. She is clearly the winner. (1D clinex? capitalism in its pure state 😂. Did they really made those? Glad i didnt find it on time bcs i would have definitely brought them as a joke to my sister or something). You are already playing Niall’s songs to her? Did she like them? Does she have anything similar to “pikachu get away” she had for SOTT?. (2)
JAJAJAJJA. Netflix always does that to me too. Dont know why. I started watching Black mirror backwards bcs of that. Did you understand anything of chapter 7 os ST? (Did you finish the show??). Yep. The 8th season is the last one, and i dont know hoe to feel about it. Dissapointed by the shows? As in with the ending?? Or how? (3)
You sound like a devoted cat lady, yes. Ooow, i have little cousins too, though they are reaching the age of “too cool to be seen with you, old girl” Of course they make me laugh. Honey is a menace and i appreciate it. JAJAJAJAJAJAJA. He ate the chorizo?? Honeeey!! 😂😂😂 that made me laugh at loud int the train and now my neighbour is looking at me weirdly. I see, you’ll never get bored with him. (4)
When i was younger and + close minded, i didnt like tattos. Considere also that the ones I had saw in real life were the tribal ones, so there’s tgat. But then i grew up and started liking them (you can partially blame larry for that). Nobody in my family (cousins and so) has one, and thats kind of a encouragement, I’d love to piss them, but my dad has threaten me to disinherit me (we dont heven have that, lol) and i dont have any tatto on mind, so i wont do it… maybe in the future, yes. (5)
I MISS LOUIS TOO! I hope he is fine. Resting and so. Im sure that creating the album that will destroy us all takes a lot of effort. (Seriously, where is heeeee?). Heeey!! I wont get bored. Or mad! I have such a great time talking to you. If i dont talk more its bcs of the character limit and bcs im always worried about pressuring or imposing. Dont be dumb. If i dont answer its bcs im busy with finals and so. Nothing more. Promise. (6)
THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING. i know i know. It makes sense and its a smart move, but… i cant stand raeggeton/latino, its not for me. Sad. I havent lost hope though. Maybe ill change my mind later Yeah, i have the same problem with my friends, they only listen to trap and raeggeton and i die everytime. We mostly agree to put something neutral like pop or the radio. (Disney songs never get old😂). (7)
Ay. I just saw that i wrote “heven” instead of “even” and now i want to delete myself. I was walking while writing the asks and i didnt proofread it. I feel so dumb. Anyway, sorry for sending so many asks (today i made a record xd) and, as always, good night!!————————————————————————-Hi!!!! Yes! I saw the ranking. But it isn’t exactly a ranking. It’s more to like chose wants your favorite suit. I did it and guess what? My first choice in the Madrid one, jajajaa. Second the kilt. And third the jumpsuit. Very accurate.
Oh, you’re telling me! My family bought me a bunch of 1D merch (unofficial all): the clinex, a hair brush, a bracelet, 2 books!, one perfume (this I love it, it smells so good), a make up box… I can’t even remember everything. Ah! A birthday card too!! Where they talk when you open it. I always use to wish happy birthday to people (the audio) 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I had to tell them to please stop wasting money on those things. I don’t even know where I have it. And if a can ask, I’d rather they give me the money so I can go to their concerts, jajajaja.EDIT: I can’t believe I forgot the poster!! I have it beside my head right now, jajaja, and I only realized it was there when I looked at the boys to ask for inspiration,😅😅)
Oh, my mom loves Niall’s album too. But I don’t think she “knows” any of the lyrics, jajaja. Though, she knows the hmmmm in This Town. But that’s all. She and my sister, both separately were like: “oh! who’s him??” When they heard Fire Away. And I was like: “ehhhhh, it’s Niall’s album, so guess who’s it?? What, you like it? See, Harry’s not the only one who can sing…” jajajajja. It’s because of comments like this, that they think I don’t like Harry. And I get so offended when they hint at it! Like, of course I like Harry. But I like all of them too!! God!! I love Niall’s album so much (I’m hearing it right now, bc I couldn’t remember what song was the one they liked it so much, and now I can’t stop 😅). Harry’s and Niall’s albums have been lining in my car since they were released. I had Harry’s playing in a loop till I got Niall’s one and I interchanged them. Then Harry’s came back a month or so before his concert. And now it’s time for Niall’s again. (You can’t imagine how hard it’s being writing this with honey laying on my arm!! Jajaja, I can’t barely move my fingers😅).
AND WHAT DID YOU DO WHEN YOU REALIZED YOU WERE WATCHING BLACK MIRROS BACKWARDS??? I’ve watched canter 1 and 2 of ST afterwards, but I hadn’t gotten to watch the whole thing yet. I can’t stand to be looking at a screen for 50minutes without doing anything. And don’t get me wrong, lol, I can be on tumblr for hours, jajaja, but a have to move my hand, and I can go from a blog to another… y'know, jajajajaja. And when I watched chapter 7 of ST i was like, okay… now they have to investigate what happened… or a guessed they would be doing flashbacks… jajajajajaja. Then I realized my mistake and thought I was stupid, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣“I see you from a different point of view🎶🎶” ( sorry, that’s me singing, jajajaja, Seeing Blind. I LOVE that song)And shows have disappointed me in the sense that they turn out to have an awful ending (seriously, I know you do it for the audience, but end a show how it deserves it, don’t turn it into shit just for a handful of money); or bc they just end it bc they don’t have enough audience. It’s always a matter of audience, jajaja.if they have a lot, they want to explode it. And if they don’t have enough they finish it ASAP. 😒
Honey is a menace, yeh, I couldn’t love him more, jajajaja. He can’t see me petting Liam, he gets jealous and comes to me and headbutt my hand so I pet him too. And Liam is so patient with him. They’re totally like liam and Louis, jajja. Hey! did I tell you the story about when I got Liam? no!! Well, someone gave my dad 4 kitties (they were sooooo small). So, guess their names (it was post March 25, 2015…) yes!! They were named (by me) Louis, Niall, Harry and Liam, jajajajajja. But Harry died a couple of days later, because he was really really young. He couldn’t survive without his mom ☹️. And the other three, my dad took them to a place we have were he has a little garden (?) with vegetables and chickens and proper farm-y, jejeje. I wasn’t too (any) into cats back then, so… Then he brought home one of them, to have our home free of mice. AND IT WAS LIAM!! And I adopted him. I took care of him. We started loving each other. And he became useless with mice, jajaja. He’s totally domesticated now 😝. And that’s his story. The rest? Louis became a big alpha male at their new home. But s car ran him over last summer, and he died 😔. And Niall is a female, jajajajaa. And I hate her. Because she hasn’t been able to keep her kitties alive once!! (She’s pregame again, and we’re praying this time she knows who to be a mom🙏🏻) Ah!! And Honey had siblings the other day!! The guy who gave it to my dad is my brother’s friend and he show him a pic. There are two white cats!! I WANT THEM!!! But they don’t let me have anymore cats! Jajajajaja.
Hey, we might have in common the reason why we started liking tats, jajajjajaa. And, well, to piss off the family is as good a reason as any other, jajajaja. And why are dads like that?? When my sister and I got our lips pierced he went to pick up at the train station and as soon as he saw us he turned around and walked to the car without saying a word, jajajajja. I HAD TOLMY PARENTS WE WOULD BE DOING IT!! I asked my mom:hey mom, if a get a 10 in maths, can I get a piercing?? And she say okay. So I got a 10 (I might cheated or not on this, bc I already knew I had a 10, but wel…), and I got a piercing.my sister only got it, bc I was 16, she had to go with me as an adult, and giving she was already there, she got one too, jajajaja. (My granny almost kill us 😅)
Oh, louis has a BIG responsibility on his hands. He will be killing a lot of people when he puts out his album. He has to chose the proper songs to do it. It will be considered a massive destruction weapon, so he better be careful. But god, for real, when will Louis and Liam release their albums. At this pace, Harry and Niall will be releasing their second one before LiLo has finished their respective tours. And when they finish, Narry will have release their second one, and will be promoting them. So Lilo will start working in their seconds one. And… and… AND ONE DIRECTION WON’T COME BACK EVER BECAUSE THEY CAN FIX A DATE WHERE ALL OF THE BOYS HAVE NOTHING TO DO, AND WHAT WILL I DO??? 😭😭😭😭😭 (sorry, I panicked a bit there, oops).
Uggggg, I can’t stand raeggeton either. I can’t stand the music, argggg. Or the culture of it (the how it treats women, and glorifies sex). I can’t I can’t.and you can’t go out without hearing it. My friends and I went on road trip once. And it was my friend’s car. And she only listens to raeggeton. And after 10, 15, 40? minutes I had to ask her “will this song ever end???” And she told me it was already a different one. And I swear I almost jump out of the car, jajajajaja. We were crossing a bridge, and I wanted to jump out of the car!!!!! I couldn’t listen to that any more!!!!! Ejkbvwirbfeuirnfrvoieefvnv The she caved and we switched to movie’s soundtracks, jajajaja.
Ha! Don’t worry about sending a lot of ask, I learn something, you’ll see, jajajajaa. Also, I forgot to ask early. Is your sister a 1d fan too, then? She goes to concerts and knows the song… how lucky! you have someone to talk about all the gossip!! (And they know what you’re talking about…) or is she a “casual” fan, and doesn’t get into fandom drama? She just likes the music and doesn’t care about their lives?are you both into drama?? God, I don’t discuss drama very much online, but if had someone face to face to talk about it… I would be the happiest person in the world, jajajajaa (what an exaggeration 🙊).
