I was wondering if you could do one where Bucky is super stoic and serious when he’s out in public and a man of very few words and kind of stand-offish, but behind closed doors, he’s super dorky and always trying to make his boyfriend laugh and he’s super cuddly with his boyfriend

There's so much going on with Bucky.

He just tends to keep it to himself.

With his PTSD, Bucky tends to close up around unfamiliar people, which makes it hard to bond with others.

But you are one of those others. You wormed your way into his circle, and then into his heart.

And you just realize that there's a whole other person locked inside a tough shell, just for you to see.

Bucky tends to respond in one word answers and short vocalizations, at least, outside of his small friend group.

He doesn't smile, and he takes things very seriously, finding it difficult to recognize humor in modern speech patterns.

He is always on high alert, scanning surroundings and people for threat analysis, and he hates crowds.

But when you close the doors, batten down the hatches, build him a fortress where he finally feels safe... Bucky emerges.

He's a dork. A huge dork.

He geeks out over scientific discoveries, despite finding it difficult to pronounce a lot of jargon. He's way more intellectual than people might give him credit for, and he learns very quickly. Bucky likes technology a lot. He thinks it's incredible to see how people have made their lives easier and safer, although he also recognizes downsides, and he absolutely doesn't trust unnecessarily smart devices.

He's decorated his own space and picked out furnishings - he generally goes for state-of-the-art appliances, but just a step away from fully-smart. He refuses to have anything connect to the internet without him knowing why. Sam gave him an Alexa as a joke and Bucky lobbed it out of the window.

Bucky really likes video games and web shows. He likes seeing how creative people can be. He gets invested in stories and loves watching them with you. More than once you've seen him taking notes - Bucky has a knack for analysis and the time to do research on symbolism and references.

He's silly. Not just funny, but silly. He has a biting wit and sarcasm, but you've come to recognize that as another wall, a defense mechanism. Bucky loves jokes that are so terrible they're funny - he likes puns and creative riddles and he smiles so much around you that you wonder why it's just here, just with you and friends.

And the other thing - Bucky is touch starved and not afraid of physical contact. In public, he's too tightly wound to hug or cuddle, but once all his defenses are down, you struggle to find a time he's not somehow pressed against you. Even when you sit at your computer desk, he sometimes likes to just sit against your chair and do his own thing. Bucky's got a lot of room to multitask, and he enjoys just having parallel time with you, yet still connecting.

He'll cuddle you without warning, make stupid faces at you across the dinner table to make you laugh, and be so wonderfully animated and expressive around you.

It makes you a little sad that no one else gets to see this beautiful man you love so much, but you feel such a sense of honor and privilege that you're the one who does.

You love the Bucky that playfully makes little puppy whines while you braid his long hair.

The Bucky that pins you down on the couch and peppers kisses across your skin when you seem sad.

The Bucky that looks so absorbed in a YouTube video analyzing the music in some game that he's played that you feel bad disturbing him.

The Bucky that strings up fairy lights around the rooms, who orders a bunch of fuzzy blankets and demands you try them out with him, who learns to cook and bake just for you, and who pretends to die at the slightest injury so you'll baby him.

And you know what? You love the Bucky he is outside, too. Because even when he grunts at someone out in public, even when he misses a question because he's surveying the area, it's still the same guy. And maybe someday you can help him feel safe enough to not have to lift up his walls every time you're not alone, but maybe not. And that's okay too.

You love him, all the same.

And he loves you.

You're so smart about Prime, so can you explain Rouge to me? As in like, every version of a character is suppoused to be like, without a trait that's essential to them, but what's with Rouge?? All versions of her are like, very similar? And like ALL of them lack her love for gems and attention. The only thing I can come up with is Prim and her lack of courage, but all the others kinda blend together for me, and all are SO different from Prime Rouge. I wanna hear what you think, cuz I'm at a loss...

i think rouge is less lacking traits and more, accentuated traits? like, rebel is her leadership skills cranked up to 11. prim is her self-preservation maxed out. and batten is...?

yeah uh i'm gonna be real, rouge is maybe the weakest character in sonic prime so far. her gimmicks are the least fleshed out and ofc she doesn't even have her own world. it's a little sad tbh.

How are we doing this when buddie is right there and we all saw Eddie’s reaction how can they still he pushing anything but buddie after this episode. Sometimes the thing that is right there is too big and terrifying to fully contemplate. In this case Buddie. So you play it safe and choose a different path because then the risk of getting hurt ceases to be a consideration.

To me these dates read as a form of trauma response. Eddie has just been faced with losing Buck - not just the possibility of losing him, but actually losing him because as we stand right now Buck is dead. More dead than Eddie has been.

He went into the back of that ambulance technically dead - no pulse and not breathing, so dead. We know from the promo that they are still working on him when they get to the hospital - we see Eddie jump on the stretcher and continue the CPR that Hen and Chim would have been giving in the back of the ambulance so the journey to the hospital hasn't changed things. Eddie is the last one of the firefam to have physical contact with buck before they whisk him away (and obviously manage to get him back).

All of this is only ever going to lead to Eddie having some form of trauma response because he has to grapple with the very real possibility that he's lost/ is about to lose the person he is closest to in the world - the person he knows best, and the person he has elected to take care of Christopher if Eddie were the one to die - he person he has to all intents and purposes been raising his son with. And we haven't even seen him telling Christopher yet - which is only going to compound all of these feelings further.

Then add into that the fact that he's experienced something like this before when Shannon died and he's very possibly thinking this is worse than that - which in and of itself is going to pile on more pain. Because if he admits that this is worse than losing Shannon then he has to admit that he is in love with Buck.

This is all huge for Eddie. He might be newly therapized, but he's also lived his life up until fairly recently repressing the hell out of everything, so this is the first time his therapized self is being tested. He also needs to be there and be strong for Christopher and so reverting to type and battening down the hatches of his feelings and emotions rather than actually sitting in them and sorting them is safer and easier - at least until you're down the road a bit and you know what the terrain looks like. This is in many ways a smart thing for Eddie to do - as long as he does the second part - actually sit with them and figure them out.

Only when that happens and you are in calmer waters and you start that looking at everything in more detail and you're left with the knowledge that you're in love with your best friend - something you've known for a while but have been keeping locked down until you nearly lost them and that thought of loosing them is just too much - its too dangerous - because if you get hurt you don't think you'll survive - the stakes are too high. So instead what you do is go out into the world and date around a bit - where the risks are lower to see if you can find some semblance of a spark elsewhere. Because we have to remember this is soulmate level love that Eddie has with Buck and when you know what its like to lose that - because you very nearly did, its terrifying to know what you stand to lose if you took the next step in that direction.

So yes going out on a bunch of dates is very much a trauma response imo - an entirely understandable one, and once the dust has settled a bit further Eddie will be in a place to face everything and take the step he's been affraid to.

Buck of course at the same time is going to be going through his own stuff in the fall out from his dying and coming back. Eddie will be there to support him and help him - that aspect of them won't go away, in fact its only likely to get stronger. because part of the reason for all of this being difficult for Eddie is that he now truly understands Bucks side of things post shooting and Buck will understand Eddies side of things. they will be ready to talk about what they've been carefully skirting around since the shooting - what it was like for the other. Giving them shared trauma in this way only serves to strengthen their bond rather than break it - because there is no one else in the world who can ever understand in the way they can!

Sorry this got a bit long and rambly but I'm a bit up in my feelings about what the show is doing because its so good and being done with such care!!! We should also remember (and I cannot emphasise it enough - the show isn't going to give anything away in interviews like the ones KR has done about Buddie - theyre telling a story the likes of which has never been seen before and subterfuge is the name of the game - we'll only get confirmation when it happens, not before!) OC Kiss Week 2024 - Day 4 - “Lost”

There’s a matter most indecorous at hand, in Cassandra’s estimation. Her smart blue coat is currently tugged halfway down her arms, when it should be hung up and brushed. There’s a small chance one of the coat’s bright buttons went pinging off somewhere too, in the fray. There’s also ink spilling on the map table beneath her, that she’s fairly sure is about to start seeping into the clean, pale wool of her breeches and leave an irreversible stain. 

Perhaps most importantly, and certainly most noticeably, there’s a bold-faced, flame-haired pirate in her lap, and said pirate is tugging at her necktie, grinding down on her thighs, and kissing her into utter, utter silence. 

It had started, as these things often do, with a dare from the Captain. Not one with words, but one with looks. A glance up-and-down that said you’re too in your head and a snagged lower lip that said you need a distraction. 

And when Salthawk Harley sets her mind to being a distraction, she damn well does it.

Cassandra lets out a deeply embarrassing whimper when the pirate bites her lower lip, her own fingers curling into the cotton of the Salthawk’s shirt at her waist and pulling her closer, unable to bear a single place where they aren’t touching; a single space for air to fall between.

“Samantha,” she breathes when she finally gets the chance, aching to pull her back in but needing to get her attention. “Darling.”

She is silenced with another searing kiss, one that leaves her dizzy and wanting and… yes, that is definitely ink on her breeches. Cassandra tries another tack.

“Captain,” she urges, in the space between their kisses. “The maps.”

Salthawk Harley just chuckles - a siren on the shore; a trickster from the deep; some other monster of myth sent to make Cassandra a simpering fool - and pulls her in again. “Oh, fuck it, treasure,” she says, hips battened down firmly atop her and the guideropes of her fingers tight in Cassandra’s hair and necktie, “I think we’re lost.”
