Personal headcanon that although both Portugal and Spain were extremely good navigators, and both pretty knowledgeable of astronomy and sky mapping (there's a reason Portugal has an armillary sphere in its coat of arms) Portugal excells at shipbuilding and cartography, whereas Spain excells at "reading" the winds and ocean currents, and is generally pretty good with orientation, which is what allowed him to succeed in open sea navigation, while Portuguese sailors usually pioneered in navigation dicoveries but rarely ventured too far from the coastline. Summing up, while Portuguese navigators were innovators who laid the groundwork for long-distance exploration with excellent ships and detailed maps, the Spanish might have perfected ocean navigation through their ability to harness natural forces like the winds and currents, allowing them to excel in open-sea voyages and global expeditions, thus my hc for these two.

smth i can't get out of my head is bianca telling naomi "and i need you to tell me right now cause i will walk out of this ring and you will never hear from me again" and this being the thing to get naomi to finally confess.

like this isn't a threat that gets used in wrestling! the only way conflict gets addressed is having these people fight each other over and over and over again. typically the threat is "ill never let you live it down," "you'll never have a moment's peace again," "ill force the truth out of you next monday in cincinnati," etc.

so there's something extra haunting about the threat of bianca just leaving naomi's life, just deciding she's not worth it anymore. that naomi couldve done all this -- brutalised jade and kept it hidden for months, lied to everyone's faces, all for the sake of bianca and keeping her shining and getting to shine with her because it shouldve been her, it shouldve been them -- only for bianca to turn her back and walk away for good.

and bianca still turns her back on her, while naomi's screaming til her throat is raw. starts screaming the worst things she can think of ("i shouldve pushed her harder! i wish i pushed her sooner! you ungrateful bitch!") just to get bianca to look at her again. she'd rather bianca hate her than to lose her.

oh I was just about to make a similar post as one of my mutuals about the divide of casual vs hardcore wrestling fans + how I dont think I fit in either technically

in the online space, I'm comparatively a casual wrestling fan. didn't engage with online community for years at all (literally just watched wrestling and followed it and thought about it on my own or w fam). I don't know a lot of the inside jokes/rumors/the general fan reception for years to this day. at most I read youtube comments & go on twitter for certain wrestlers or verified news. I only stick to one promotion for the most part and don't care for backstage politics, drama, or dirtsheets. I watch (and rewatch!) what I like and that's it.

but if you ask anyone in my life they'd tell you I'm the biggest fan ever! an "expert" if they had to call on one 😂

the actual most hardcore fan I know has encyclopedic knowledge, cares about stats, but has told me that they never watch interviews or documentaries or care about the process, which makes me more hardcore than them. that's wild to me!

it's all just arbitrary. it doesn't really matter at the end of the day. except if you want to be in certain spaces where people care about that

personally, I just like what I like, and that's all that matters to me.

I loveee not knowing everything (knowing too much/being too deep in the weeds feels like it takes away from just enjoying the show as it was meant to be enjoyed) and I like forming my own taste and opinions irrespective of a general culture, taste, or consensus.

remembering what I first thought of something, keeping that in mind with current and future happenings, then watching it build on itself is fun.

whether my opinions happen to be shared by a whole community or not, my experience is my experience, so it's all the same to me. fomo is a trap that sucks joy. the fun part about art is that it means something & is experienced unique to each person

just saw like, a really dumb wojak meme that says black and brown girls feel represented with princesses while black and brown guys feel represented with roman reigns. and like yea, its sexist but im also reminded of how white ppl in wrestling fandom fucking assumes we like roman reigns because third-worlders (spesifically indians) think wrestling is still real when in reality, seeing a man of color (reigns is samoan) be depicted as a funny, cool, yet tormented and occasionally emotional guy deal with family expectations in good and bad ways (sometimes failing, sometimes excelling, sometimes dissatisfied) is a relatable and moving narrative for us. most ppl in the world find irony-pilled white guys who think they're above it all to be annoying and boring actually. the smarky in-jokes and references to christianity arent funny nor meaningful and its driving ratings away!
