Hello love, i stumbled upon your blog and think that it's cool! Can you write a superman/Clark Kent x flourist!Reader? I can't think of a scene so go crazy😭
let me cook 😈 😈
ᴘᴀɪʀɪɴɢꜱ: Superman (Clark Kent) x Reader ᴡᴀʀɴɪɴɢꜱ: none! xx ᴀ/ɴ: Finally a Dc request!! I love writing for DC sm >w<. Especially writing for the batfam. Also thank you everyone for the fat load of requests omg!! Multiple of you asked what my guidelines regarding NSFW, just DM me, and see if I'm comfortable writing your request. ᴘʀᴏᴍᴘᴛ: Clark is visiting Smallville for the weekend and decides to go to his local florist shop to buy a little something for his mom. Little does he know, he will leave the shop with more than just a bouquet of flowers.
.
.
.
Clark was always sweet but he put his work and responsibilities before everyone. Even his loved ones. His friends start to pick up on this behavior and demand that he take a break from saving everyone all the time. With time, Clark gave in and started with visiting his family back in Smallville. It's been months since he spoke with them. He didn't even know what he'd do when he saw them again. An idea crossed his mind. The least he can do is provide a gift for them. His first idea is to buy flowers for his mom, Martha.
He left the house in hopes of finding the perfect flowers for her. Across the street was a small pink flower shop that recently opened. Clark adjusted his glasses, smiled, and made his way across the street to the shop. Upon walking into the shop, he was immediately hit with fresh floral scents. A blend of roses, lilies, and other exotic blooms. The whole shop was decorated to match each flower displayed. With every flower of every color filling the room and making the shop vibrant.
Behind the counter stood a young woman, arranging a bouquet with deft hands. She had a warm smile and bright eyes that sparkled with enthusiasm. Clark approached her, his usual confidence slightly wavering in the presence of her captivating aura.
"Hi there," he greeted with a friendly smile. "I'm looking to buy some flowers for my mom. Do you think you could help me find the perfect bouquet?"
The florist looked up, her smile widening. "Of course! I'd be happy to help. What's the occasion?"
"Just a visit," Clark replied. "I haven't seen her in a while, and I want to bring her something special."
The florist nodded thoughtfully, her fingers tapping her chin as she considered his request. "Well, let's see. For a mother, you want something that conveys love, appreciation, and warmth. How about a mix of roses and lilies? Roses symbolize love and admiration, while lilies represent purity and refined beauty."
Clark watched her as she moved around the shop, selecting flowers with care. Her movements were graceful, almost like a dance. He couldn't help but be mesmerized by her dedication and passion for her work.
"That sounds perfect," he said, his voice sincere. "You really know your flowers."
She blushed slightly, her smile becoming a bit shy. "Thank you. I love what I do, and it's always a pleasure to help someone find the perfect bouquet."
As she continued to assemble the bouquet, they chatted about various topics—flowers, Smallville, and even a bit about the bustling city of Metropolis. Clark found himself enjoying the conversation more than he had anticipated. There was something refreshing about her genuine interest and warmth.
"You know," she said, tying the bouquet with a delicate ribbon, "these flowers remind me of my own mom. She used to tell me that flowers are nature's way of smiling at us."
Clark smiled, feeling a connection with her words. "Your mom sounds like a wonderful person."
"She was," the florist replied softly, her eyes reflecting a mix of fondness and nostalgia. "I think your mom will love these flowers. Here you go."
She handed him the bouquet, a beautiful arrangement of red roses and white lilies. Clark took it, marveling at the care and artistry that had gone into creating it.
"Thank you," he said, his voice warm. "I really appreciate it."
As he reached for his wallet, the florist placed a hand on his arm, stopping him. "It's on the house," she said with a wink. "Consider it a gift for your mom."
Clark was taken aback by her generosity. "Are you sure? I don't mind paying."
"I'm sure," she replied, her smile genuine. "Just promise to come back and tell me how she liked them."
He chuckled, feeling a warmth in his chest. "I promise."
Before he could leave, the florist reached into her apron pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper. She scribbled something on it and handed it to him.
"Here's my number," she said, her cheeks tinged with a hint of pink. "In case you ever need more flowers, or, you know, just want to talk."
Clark took the paper, his fingers brushing against hers briefly. "Thank you," he said softly. "I'll definitely keep that in mind."
With the bouquet in one hand and her number in the other, Clark left the shop, a smile playing on his lips. As he took to the skies, he felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. Visiting his parents was nothing new to him but this time, there was an added reason for his uplifted spirits—a charming florist who had managed to make his day a little brighter.

Queer autonomous zones and participatory publics
Bobby Noble points to ‘the simultaneity of the relations between gendered embodi- ment, sex play, and racialization inside homonormative communities, neighbour- hoods and venues for cultural production’ (Noble, 2009). Similar critiques of the queer community have been taken up by Gay Shame anarchist activists organizing in the late 1990s. In That’s Revolting! Matt/Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore docu- ments their personal experience in Gay Shame collectives in San Francisco and New York City. ‘Gay Shame emerged to create a radical alternative to the confor- mity of gay neighbourhoods, bars, and institutions – most clearly symbolized by Gay Pride’ (Sycamore, 2004: 238). Gay Shame is ‘mostly anarchist leaning’ (2004: 239), and organizes gatherings, events and direct action protests against capitalism and intersecting oppressions. A San Francisco flyer asks, ‘Are you choking on the vomit of consumerist ‘gay pride’?’ (2004: 239). Another poster entitled ‘Gay pride, my ass: It’s all about gay shame’ (2004: 240) announces an ‘autonomous space’ (2004: 240) outdoors on Tire Beach with performances, art-making, bands, instal- lations, DJs, food, kidspace, and ‘politics and play’ (2004: 240). The event hosted ‘speakers on issues including San Francisco gentrification and the US colonization of the Puerto Rican island of Vieques, as well as prison, youth, and trans activism’ (2004: 241). The range of issues and events in the ‘autonomous space’ point to a very different kind of sprawling, engaged public than Berlant and Warner’s indoor, circumscribed, queer counterpublic. ‘We encouraged people to participate in cre- ating their own radical queer space, and people argued about political issues, painted, poured concrete and made a mosaic, dyed hair, and mudwrestled naked’ (Sycamore, 2004: 241). Participation is a key element in the formation of a ‘Queer autonomous space’ (2004: 237) or zone, as are multiplicities of political focus (Puerto Rico, kids, youth, prisons, trans people, art production, gentrifica- tion and so on) and an over-arching anti-capitalist practice that includes free entrance, barter and trade, dressing to ‘ragged excess’ (2004: 240), and the provi- sion of ‘free food, T-shirts and various other gifts’ (2004: 241).
Queer autonomous zones thus are open-ended spaces in which participation of all comers is encouraged through a direct (rather than liberal) democracy model. They are facilitated via engagement with a multiplicity of intersectional anti- oppression politics. Interactions in queer autonomous spaces develop sustainable social relations and value-practices, based on mutual respect, consent, sexual lib- eration, and non-normativity, in which people engage in open-ended processes of developing alternative ways of being, feeling, thinking, engaging, acting and becoming-liberated. The question is – what’s next? How do we continue to expand our movements and theorizing to extend the becoming-liberated of queer?

Address: Communication Studies Department, Concordia University, 7141 Sherbrooke Street West, CJ 3.230, 3rd Floor, Montreal, Canada H4B 1R6.
[1] Following Vade’s important article (2005) advocating the ‘Gender Galaxy’ which reveals the falsity of the gender/sex divide and the negative legal impact of this distinction on trans people, I am using the term ‘gender’ to be comprehensive.
[2] In the USA this is particularly true. In Canada same-sex marriage and human rights are protected by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and immigration processes are begin- ning to include same-sex partners in sponsorship claims, as well as considering persecution for sexuality as a basis for refugee claims. These processes however remain heteronorma- tive. I’d like to thank Melissa White for sharing her insights and research on this issue.

If we consider that the DP show really takes place in 2004, then Danny and his friends would be 33-34 ish.
Now, considering the rock in the Midwest during the 2000s, it wouldn't be unreasonable that Clark, if he liked rock, could be flying around some states to attend some shows.
Here is the catch: whenever he was in Illinois to see some shows (maybe to see Fall Out Boy, they are from Illinois), when hanging out with other attendees, he would bump and meet the DP trio.
Decades later, important reporter Clark Kent, meets with an acquaintance from those times thanking him for the investigative work in the beginning of his career that helped to create the Meta Humans Protection Act, and now he didn't live in fear of getting captured by the government and being experimented on.
In other words: how Clark Kent, the reporter, avoided the war with the Infinite Realms.
FOB i will say is definitely not something Clark would listen to. The lad is far much more a classic dad rock type of fella. He owns every Metallica album and his favorite album is "Liberty and Justice For All"
I love the idea that Danny is super interested in metal and rock. Going to a concert in Chicago which is a very common city bands have tour stops in, and seeing Clark there and chatting to him.
Clark not truly realizing the scale at which he saved the world with his articles is wonderful and I love that sm

My Adventures with Superman 1x4 You Will Believe A Man Can Lie
(also i have fixed the numbering cuz I did not realize there was a part 1 and 2 of the first episode so they were off)
The idea of Jimmy and Clark sharing an apartment is so comedic I love it I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before
Jimmy is the 3rd wheel to Lois knowing his secret and Clark trying to hide it it’s great
SHE DID THE GLASSES DRAWING ON CLARK
Clark is so bad at hiding his powers lmao I love it
Neither of them have a subtle bone in their body I love them sm
Update: my dad came in and sat with me and watched half the episode i call this a win (re: my last post)
This Steve dude is so Sea Hawk Coded
Why does Lois lane have handcuffs. I love that she has handcuffs but why
Also I keep only seeing the yellow part of the S and I can’t unsee it
[im sorry Superman pls don’t kidnap me like the others]
[tell us what you know or my friend here will worry excessively about your welfare]
They know exactly the fans they are writing this for
[superman suPerManNnN cLaRKkKkKKkK!!!]
Aughhh the writing is so good and clear I actually understand the villain’s reasoning for once
Also I knew it was slade but like actually seeing his suit aksjkdjfkjg’gkmgkgm
When he came out with his flaming swords they slap
Also idk entirely slade’s backstory but him being aGeNT wilSoN is just idk something daddy fuck
also whoever does the closed captioning is great cuz they do not just put the words but also the speaker if they’re off screen and it really helps with my auditory processing so I’m not confused so props to them
BLUDHAVEN THE REFERENCE TO MY NIGHTWING CITY
they really thought about every single scene like I have found 0 plot holes so far and I’m usually so critical of them
Amanda Waller looked exactly like imagined her
Classic Lois trust fall for Clark I love it
Adjfkfjklfjfkjj the angst i cri they’re fighting
Also rip to Jimmy I kinda forgor about him also
The fact that he actually found Bigfoot
Notice how this episode ended on a sad note and the ending credits are actually sad and there’s no walking human

I would absolutely love to hear about your faves 👀 Tell me everything you know 👀👀👀👀
AAAAAAVUYCDTIGCTUGCH YOU'RE A GEM THANK U FOR THIS 😭😭😭💚
this is super long bc I'm Completely Normal abt J'onn lmao whoops 😂
omfg where do I start. FIRST THINGS FIRST. HE. MY BELOVED. J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter, my favorite favorite of all time. no really it's coming up on 8 years and I still love him sm 😭 my one braincell may wander off to new fixations but I always circle back around to him sooner or later.
I have like 4747058 images of him ofc but these are SO good bc they tell a lot about him ??? he's cute, he's silly, he's dramatic, he's sassy, he's the heart of the Justice League twenty times over despite DC refusing to give him any time to shine (I'm going to fight them with my bare hands for that).
I've never posted this but it's been in my drafts for ever so I'll throw it in here 😂 I have so many thoughts about him omg
ALSO I have a whole thing analyzing J'onn's moral compass & development through Justice League Animated, Unlimited, and some of the comics a while back so there's tHAT WHICH,,, was super good imo 👏
uuuuughghghghh I could talk about him forever 😭💚
When it comes to people Superman wouldn't want to fight, J'onn is top of that list, that's canon. He's OP as FUCK. He has most if not all Clark's powers, shapeshifting, intangibility, invisibility, phasing, telepathy, seriously his powers seem to never end ??? But he's terribly underutilized :") like I get it but come on DC,,,
J'onn is addicted to Oreos. no, really. in MM 98 issue 24 Blue Beetle and Booster Gold have this Super Funny Idea to hide all the Oreos from J'onn, and you gotta applaud the dedication to the prank bc they literally went out and bought ALL the Oreos from the ENTIRE vicinity of the JL Embassy building. J'onn proceeds to Hulk out and tear up half the city chasing them for it. It's revealed by Batman that Martians can get addicted to Oreos. At the end of the issue it turns out this is just a story J'onn is telling Diana but... he winks and asks if she's got any cookies, so it's up for debate if it's really just a story [I think there's some truth to it. bc it's very funny.]. And the Oreo thing comes up many times in many places including JLTAS 😂
He also likes sweet things in general !! he canonically drinks coffee with a TON of sugary shit to take off the bitter taste. I also made the hc that was the case for him just days before reading it in MM Identity and I'm very real for that 👏
J'onn is a cat person. One of his aliases is even an Italian street cat named Tommaso. And he has an orange cat named Double Stuff,,, of course 😂
however,,, he's totally a dragon nerd, he knows everything about dragons, he likes reptiles in general but dragons are his fav. He shapeshifts into draconic creatures all the time and he talks many times abt a specific species of moon nesting dragon called quonars. He also telepathically connected with an iguana once and it was a wholesome experience 🥺
J'onn lives in Colorado, in a suburb named Middleton, which is actually the name of a real ghost town! it's interesting that Denver is his preferred climate bc you can assume Mars was similar 👀
He is THE sass master. He goes toe to toe with Batman constantly. One of these days I'll just make a list of every sassy line he delivers in JLTAS but I think that would be a whole book by itself. There's a video of sassy moments from Batman: The Brave and the Bold that I watch 400 times a week. One of my favorite comic sass moments is when Batman expresses his annoyance at J'onn for leaving on the middle of an important meeting, which J'onn happily counters with a "you're so right, it would look bad on the League if someone just vanished at random all the time, huh Batman :)." he then also takes a crack at Bruce's lack of people skills. iconic.
He's also a silly little guy. The Batman 2007? J'onn OWNS the noir detective role, down to the cheesy old fashioned music. He also has like, a whole list of quotes he's just waiting to use when the time is right. He waited years to say "You're probably wondering why I've called you all here today." love him fr
J'onn is canonically kind of an adrenaline junkie. He loves driving, particularly an 87 Chevy Impala which he affectionately says "vibrates like a Chihuahua with a head cold." He once physically linked with an entire damaged spaceship to steer it out of danger and got carried away bc he was just having fun. He also said it was similar to the video games he plays with GL-- so he's canonically a gamer, too 😂👏
I 100% believe he's got anxiety or at LEAST separation anxiety [and that may be the case for the entire Martian race]. I already thought as much but then JLU issue 24 kinda confirmed it and it was devastating :") the League is taken over by Starro, J'onn is the only one who dodges the attack and he's left to fight his teammates which. is already awful for him. and it triggers flashbacks to a time on Mars when he was separated from his family in a nasty sandstorm. J'onn went pretty much feral with panic until he broke down and then forced himself to calm down enough to think of a plan. Meanwhile back with the League he's frantically trying not to panic again bc, while fire is a Martian's greatest weakness, "being alone is a Martian's greatest fear." I cried the whole time I read that issue and then I bought a copy LMAO. can DC stop putting him through the PTSD wringer for five seconds thanks
One short comic run J'onn spends the whole time being chased by the Martian god of fire, H'ronmeer, bc it turns out he was psychically keeping the souls of the entire Martian population tethered to the mortal realm. he's super powerful and HE'S GOING THROUGH IT. ALL THE TIME.
I don't have the context for either happenstance at this time, but J'onn has been both a Black and a White Lantern in comics. I have no idea what any of it means, either, I just know it's happened. I'll get there eventually. maybe. [I think he's dead for the Black Lantern thing so...probably...not...]
^^^ this is up there with the whole "J'onn was actually an advance agent for the invading Martian species but rather than let them use him as a weapon he essentially committed suicide after fighting the whole Justice League [beat them easily, it wasn't even a competition] and somehow this split his consciousness into like 4 different people" of comic runs that I really don't want to read [even though I own this one] :") help
I don't know what it is about forcefields but his brain just shuts off when he gets near one fr. Multiple times when there's a forcefield, EVEN IF HE KNOWS IT'S THERE, J'onn just yeets headfirst into it. He's just generally super impulsive tho ??? This guy is constantly jumping into action without a moment's thought. pls stop handing off the braincell to absolutely no one when there's danger, J'onn [he does not actually have the braincell at any given time. only Bruce has it. occasionally].
He totally enjoys starting shit. J'onn is Here for teammate drama. He once gave Batman absolutely what for and called him immature just bc J'onn was annoyed with his attitude. He sends people on League missions that will either bring out complete drama or make them find common ground. Though he says the contrary, J'onn is absolutely in the background of every team squabble with popcorn like Thor watching Tony and Cap argue. "You're all so petty. And tiny."
J'onn's name means "light to the light" and it's so poetic 😭😭 of COURSE he's the heart of the League. akdjfndckdnxkd
I'm going to stop there bc I could go on forever but I've held this ask hostage in my drafts long enough 😂😂 ENJOY THE RAMBLING THANK U FOR SENDING THIS ASK AAAA 💙
#possum screms at this#sorry it takes me 5-10 business days to answer asks i get too excited#enrinchment but i am a dog with an egg. bark and bounce around it with delight instead of interacting Normally#ratkingresponds#j'onn my beloved#here tumblr have a bunch of infodumping abt my beloved#martian manhunter#j'onn j'onzz#dc#long post#i know ive dropped a lot of this info on tumblr before but now its all in One Condensed Post#I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT HIM. brainrot real#some other favs include loki death the kid shadow the hedgehog donnie rottmnt luigi bowser & king boo#but J'onn is like. my Main Guy yk 😭😭#THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS ASK I CANNOT SAY IT ENOUGH 😭😭#nothing brings me seratonin like talking about he fr fr

Bus Journey - Tarlac City
🗓️ Sunday | January 14, 2024
Ito yung dahilan talaga kung bakit gusto ko bumyahe ng maaga tapos sasakay sa bus na open window. I just love the morning breeze. As I also mentioned previously, favorite transpo ko talaga ang bus.
Instead na magmukmok over the weekend, I decided to prepare my bag and just go kung saan man mapunta basta goal ko lang makasakay ng bus. As of now hanggang Tarlac lang muna tinatry ko as panimula but I'm planning na palayo ng palayo sa susunod.
Just having a quick search ng cafe sa Tarlac before leaving and I found this cozy place na pasok talaga sa taste ko.
📍Calle Cubeyertos
Fairlane Subdivision, 4011 4th St, Tarlac City, Tarlac
"You are now entering a stress free zone".
Tapos yung pinapatugtog pa nung time na yan:
It must have been love, but it's over now
It must have been good, but I lost it somehow
It must have been love, but it's over now
From the moment we touched, 'til the time had run out
Napapa-smile nalang ako sa ganda ng paligid pero nananadya talaga yung kanta. Hahahaha
I really love the ambience, with nature vibe, with antiques decor, napaka cozy, i found peace. I was able to talked to the owner and she's just an amazing woman like i don't want to end our convo and i hugged her when it's time say goodbye na. But I'll definitely go back here next weekend.
She was surprised na galing pa ako sa malayo na lugar and sobrang na appreciate nya kasi di pa daw talaga nya minamarket kasi the place and sila is not that ready pa. Parang pang family or friends lang daw muna sana pero syempre once it posted on social media at magustuhan ng mga tao, yun na yun.
Kasi she also asked me if paano ko daw nalaman yung lugar and since mag close ng 10am, mas maganda daw sana kung hapon ako pumunta (4pm-10pm) ulit sana mag open. So since may iba pa akong gagawin sa hapon kaya umaga ako nakapunta, i told her babalik ako next week at hapon na ako pupunta. Grabe laaaaang. Kaya di ko mapigilan yakapin syaaaa. "I'll expect you here again, punta ka ng hapon although medyo marami tao nun pero you can stay and bring your book and read", she added. Gooosssh myyyy heeeaaart 😭
The service, the vibe, the people, these makes me coming back talaga and ofcourse bonus na yung masarap din na food nila.
Hahaha charot. Tapos yung ticket pala nila walang seat number agad unlike sa SM Clark. Buti nalang apat lang ata kami nanood kanina kaya kahit saan mo nalang talaga gusto umupo.
After manood, nag hintay nalang ako ng bus na may aircon since mainit na pauwi.
Now I should sleep na. 😴🥱
Thanks for today, self.

Fic anon here :) just read your post about making a superman AU! If i may toss in that I love the idea of using Renee and Dean! But if you’re also looking for more ideas I guess Ambreigns, but if you needed the push I like the idea of Dean and Renee :)
Also I have more song recs for you!
you sent this and i instantly started to write it :') i just loved the idea sm too so here is dean and renee in a clarklois au! i didn't completely adopt the superman aspects but i did write dean acting like clark (which is so ooc but kind of funny). this is around 1k words (:
(also also- send those recs in!!)
"Don't tell me you're late again."
Dean winced, biting his lip. "Okay, look, Re—"
"Dean," Renee said, voice testy, "Dean, please tell me you're anything but late again."
To be completely honest, Dean wasn't late. He was actually right on time, right where he needed to be. He just... happened to be in a vigilante costume and hovering above the building that he was supposed to be inside of. Semantics, honestly.
When he took too long to respond, Renee made a frustrated noise. "Okay, it's fine, it's fine— I'll cover for you. But you better get over here soon, Ambrose."
Dean let out an exhale. "Okay, okay, got it, I'll be there."
Renee hung up and Dean slumped against the wall of the roof. He was exhausted. His phone rang while he was still across the city, so he'd run back to their building to catch Renee's call on the last ring. He was still decked out in his Lunatic gear, knuckles sore from where he'd been pummeling into the giant, Rowan, from the villainous Wyatt family. His brothers were busy with their own fights so he hadn't been able to call them in from where they were working, which meant that he totally missed the monthly meeting that he'd promised Renee he would make on time. Their boss had been giving her a lot of shit for it given that she was Dean's editor — not to mention Dean being on thin ice with the guy in general.
“Damn it.” He sighed before changing into his civilian clothes in a flash, and headed back down to ground level to take the elevator up.
Things weren't easy, being one of only three aliens sent to Earth as a baby twenty-some years ago. They were lucky to have been found by a kind Kansas farmer, Mick, who raised them lovingly, but growing up and learning how to be human was obstacle after obstacle for Dean, his big brother Roman, and his younger brother Seth.
But they did it, anyways. Roman's fighting his way through med school, Seth studying to be an architect, and Dean became a journalist.
He was good enough that the renowned paper, the World Wide Exclusive, hired him straight out of his college internship. And though he hadn't quite made a splash like his brothers, that wasn't really Dean's thing anyways. Roman liked helping people, Seth liked creating things. Dean liked to chase. He didn't care for the top as much as he cared for the clawing his way through the mud.
There were just two issues. One, he was stuck in the sports division. And two... He was maybe, kind of, sort of in love with his editor.
He slid his black-framed glasses on just as the elevator dinged, the doors opening.
Renee Paquette was on the other side, arms crossed and foot tapping.
Dean went to jab at the button to go back down but Renee cut him off, “Ambrose.”
It was always strange, switching away from his superpowered persona into the person that his brothers and he had decided would be best for his secret identity. But it was also instinctive now.
He let his shoulders fall a bit and pushed his glasses up his nose. “Hey, Renee.” He stepped out and rubbed the back of his neck. “How'd the meeting go?”
Renee narrowed her eyes at him, then stomped to her office. Dean bit back a groan and followed.
“I'm waiting for an explanation and I hope it's not an excuse,” she said as soon as the door closed. She leaned against her desk, arms still crossed, frustration barely held back.
Was it terrible that Dean's first thought was about how beautiful she looked today?
“It's not,” he assured, sliding into the chair in front of her. “It's—” His mind worked itself over and over, scrambling for a justification. “Well, it's—” What would Renee consider alright? Was there anything? What could he do to—
A realization lit up his brain. There was a perfect excuse. It was the truth, too. The Lunatic was fighting Rowan and it clogged up the roads. It was realistic and explainable and—
And Renee was maybe, kind of, sort of in love with the Lunatic, so she'd likely accept it as it was.
“Well?” she demanded.
Dean slumped even more. “It was the Lunatic.” He tried not to grumble. “He was fighting Erick Rowan again. I was coming back from my brother's place so I was taking the ferry and got stuck in the traffic jam.”
Renee had brightened up as soon as he mentioned that ridiculous name the press had given his alter ego. ”Wait, the Lunatic Did you get a quote?”
Dean tried not to frown. “Y'know how he is, Renee. Kind of a ticking timebomb, never stops for anything? No one can get a quote from him for anything.” He swallowed. “'Cept for you, of course.”
Renee's cheeks pinkened. “Well— I mean, I don't know— I... That's besides the point. I get how that was out of your control and I'll share it with the boss.” She tapped her fingers against the wood of her desk. “In fact, I'll tell the boss a way for you to make it up to us, too.”
Dean brightened. “Yeah? Anything, Renee, you know I can write it. Basketball season, right?”
Renee shook her head. “Nope. Try this.”
She tossed a file onto his lap. Dean opened it up and skimmed the contents. He blinked.
“This is...” He looked up, lost. “This is for the Rhodes family. I'm covering the obituary?”
Renee was smiling, a satisfied thing. “You're interviewing the family,” she corrected. “You'll be writing the feature article.”
Dean blinked multiple more times. “'Nee, that's front page shit.”
Renee barked out a surprised laugh, then covered her mouth to suppress her giggles. Dean's heart swooped in his chest at the sound.
“Yes, it's front page shit,” she laughed. “And you deserve it. Yeah?”
Dean shook his head, still a little shocked. “I... I mean, if you say so, boss,” he huffed. “I think you should be the one writing this, though.”
Renee tsked. “I've got something more fitting for my tastes,” she hummed, before walking around her desk to grab her coat.
Dean stood as she was sliding her arms into the sleeves, hair falling gently around her shoulders. “Hm? What's that?”
She turned to face him, an excited little smile on her lips. “Lunatic interview,” she burst out. “He agreed the last time he saved me—”
“He did?” asked Dean faintly.
“—yep, right after he pulled me away from the hotel fire which he also said I shouldn't have been anywhere near but when there's a story—”
“Oh, now I remember,” muttered Dean.
“—so I'm headed up now, he said he'd meet me at noon up on the roof.” She opened up her door. “While I'm gone, you get started on that article, Ambrose.” She paused before leaving. “You've got a lot of talent. It's wasted in the sports division. You're great to have around, Dean.”
When Dean weakly replied with, “thanks, boss,” Renee grinned, winked, then left her office.
As Dean was scrambling out her window to beat her to the roof, he felt his cheeks round from a smile.
Renee never told the Lunatic that he was great to have around. One point to Ambrose! Now Dean just had to find out how to make Renee fall in love with him over the Lunatic.
Semantics, really.

1459 25July24: Chapter 207
Physical Therapy day
Yup. Even with the weather the way that it is... I drove up to Angeles City to attend my physical therapy session. My wife's friend and friends daughter came along as she needs to get a few more school items because she starts school next week.
So as I was in my appointment they went to the nearby SM. after my appointment I found out as I was getting in the car that I was in fact driving again... destination SM Clark... so here I sit right now, at SM City Clark. My wife was gracious enough to buy me some Tokyo Tokyo for lunch and I'm just sitting in the car while they are in SM looking for these items. Think a nap will do!
