this is probably a little silly but the entirety of the museum scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off is incredibly moving to me in a way that I find hard to verbalize
#ferris beuller#like its just so ???#touching?#emotional?#its them holding hands with the little elementary kids#its them matching the museum pieces#its the way that cam looks at that painting#and the way that ferris and sloan's kiss is framed against the blue mosiac#and almost juxtaposed against cam in a way... like the contrast in emotions they're all experiencing in the moment???#and the song....#like everything about it is just very sincere

they could make a lesbian fight club + superbad (= bottoms) but they couldnât really make a lesbian ferris buellerâs day off. ferris bueller just has to exist as vague homoerotic queerbait in which the characters will never act upon their desires if they are to realize them at all + such desires are only visible to a select portion of viewers that have been oversaturated and turned off by excess annoying queer media and revert back to the classics does this make sense
#someone prove me WRONG.#edit butch ferris bueller with straight bisexual girlfriend (sloane) we like her + butch4butch cameron. @emma seligman get in on this#put them in san francisco instead of LA they skip school to go to the dyke bar#deftones plays instead of dream academy at the art museum scene#ruby cruz has a role#everything else 80s maybe 90s because i like the music generally ambiguous time period#no phones and theyâve never heard of lex/her sorry. also i want them older not in high school but u canât really do a ferris bueller remake#that isnât set in high school. hmm. like in the way euphoria should definitely be in college#but then again bottoms is high school UGH.#Cameron isnât depressed for no reason hes like yearning for ferris itâs kind of ambiguous but we know.#but heâs also generally tortured and haunted and depressed anyway#umm shot on 35mm because i hate digital films usually.. and scope sometimes

Welcome to New York II Ali Krieger x Reader
"Everybody here was someone else before And you can want who you want Boys and boys and girls and girls." Welcome To New York, Taylor Swift
masterlist I word count: 2901
The first thing you thought as you spotted Ali Krieger standing on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum was that this could have been a scene from a romantic comedy. A warm smile played on the defenderâs lips while she had two cups of coffees in her hands:â Hi.â âHi. Is this one for me or do you just need a lot of caffeine todayâ, you asked her teasingly.
Amused she shook her head: âNo, the second one is for you. Ocean and Sloane let me sleep long enough today.â âOh, lucky for me. Thank you so much.â, you answered grateful for her thoughtfulness. Still smiling Ali handed you your coffee: âYouâre welcome.â Nervously you put a string of your hair behind your ear: âI hope you didnât wait too long for me.â As much as you loved this city, the public transport was against you coming punctually to your coffee date with the equally busy soccer player today. Kindly she waved at you:â No, I didnât. Do you want to keep standing here or walk around?â âLetâs walk around a bit.â, you decided.
Side by side you started walking, clearing her throat Ali admitted with a shy grin: âAlright. To be honest, Iâm so glad Jason Sudeikis introduced us to each other at my last league game party.â âOh, me too. Trust me. It was nice to get a look inside a soccer team.â, you agreed with her. Curiously the older woman looked at you:â As inspiration for your upcoming leading role in the female ted lasso spin off?â âYou can never have enough inspiration. And to be honest, Iâm a bit of a perfectionist, so I want to portray my role as realistically as possible.â, you declared slightly blushing.
Playfully the defender pouted: âOh, and I hoped you were really interested in me as a person and not only in the soccer player part of my personality.â âNot at all. I think the soccer player part is impressive but itâs not the most interesting part about you.â, you told her. Â Â âOh really?â The blush on your cheeks intensified: âMaybe your good looks were also a part of it.â âAnd the glasses of wine we shared.", she winked at you. This comment made you chuckle:â I can only say that they definitely kept the conversation going.â
âNot only that.â, Ali added grinning hinting at what happened as the night turned over into the early morning, the time in which the never sleeping city was buzzing with life and excitement and the sexual attraction between you could not been denied any longer. âAli!â
âWhat? Itâs true.â, the football player shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. You scoffed: âYouâre terrible.â âYes, but you donât mind it.â, she observed. Laughing you confessed: âActually, I kinda like it.â âI can tell.â, Ali nodded satisfied. âIâm sorry.â âDonât be.â, the defender whispered. Â Elegantly you changed the topic: âItâs really beautiful today. The weather is perfect.â
Ali let her gaze wander over the autumnal scenery of the Central Park. The yellowing leaves were contrasting against the blue sky. âAgreed. New York in fall is stunning.â, she smiled. âIt is.â, you agreed, taking in the crisp air. âHave you always lived in New York?â, Ali asked, genuine curiosity on her face. You shook your had and admitted; âActually, no.â The football players eyebrows knotted together; âNo?â With a sigh, your gaze dropped down to the fallen leaves on the ground; âAlthough I wishedâŚâ âTell me about itâŚâ, Ali implored.
âActually, I grew up in a conservative midwestern town.â, you started to explain. The defender grimaced, understanding the implication; âOh. Iâm sorry.â âSo coming to New York as a young adult did feel liberating in every way.â, you continued with a sad smile. Ali sipped on her coffee; âYou know, a lot of my team mates who are queer had similar experiences.â âSimilar to some of my acting friends.â, you added. Ali shrugged with a sigh; âIâm always glad to hear when queer people from difficult places found a safe space.â
Nervously turning the cup in your hand, you asked; âYou came out quite late to the public too, right?â âYes, thatâs true. I thought itâs no oneâs business but mine.â, she replied, nodding in thought. âWhat made you change your mind about it?â âI realized that I can be of better use as a role model.â, she answered nonchalantly. You bit your lip, moved by revelation; âThatâs very brave of you.â Ali gave you a wry smile; âThank you. But that wasnât an easy decision for me either.â âNo, I understand that. Being queer wasnât something that people in the movie industry liked to see a few years ago⌠sometimes even now.â, you told her. âIâm sorry.â You shook your head; âItâs fine, really.â âI guess we all have our struggles.â, the defender thought out lout. âYes, we do.â
You were grateful when Ali finally offered; âDo you want to change the topic?â Smiling, you gave her a soft nod to leave that topic behind; âYes, please. I donât want to ruin the mood during our little coffee date.â âYou couldnât. I really enjoy talking to you.â, Ali said, carefully taking your hand into hers. âSame.â âYou do?â âYes, even though I told you about my sad little childhood.â, you laughed, your cheeks turning slightly pink as you wondered if you had overshared. But the smile on Alis face made that thought immediately disappear; âI appreciate it. Really. Iâm glad you shared it.â
âThat means a lot. So, what about you? Are you excited for the play offs?â, you asked her. The eyes of the defender lit up:â Yes, absolutely. Iâm happy about every game I get to play.â âThis must feel very special.â, you said, her excitement was infecting you too. âIt is. If youâd like to get some more inspiration you could come.â, she offered you without hesitation.
Delighted you replied:â To your game? Iâd love that.â âIâll make sure you get some tickets.â, Ali continued happily. âThank you.â The football player could not stop smiling: âYouâre welcome.â For a second you looked worried:â You donât think Ashlyn would mind, right?â âShe wonât. Trust me.â, she reassured you quickly. Relieved you sighed:â Okay. Good.â Donât worry about it. This is over.â, Ali confirmed. With a remark you tried to lighten up the mood again:â Yes, you made that very clear when you kissed me at the doorstep after your party.â âYou asked about her.â âSorry, Iâm an idiot.â, you hid your face in her hands. Softly the football player disagreed with you: âNo, youâre not.â âSo that means I can kiss you? This time without alcohol breath?â, hopeful you looked up to her. Â
Amused Ali glanced at you:âYou can always kiss me. Doesnât matter if itâs on parties or in the Central Park.â âAlthough, Iâd argue that this here is way more romantic.â, you chuckled. Â Expectantly she threw a look at you:â You can argue all you want but Iâd rather you just kiss me.â âAs you wish.â, you said before your lips met her who were waiting for that to happen since they departed from another.
After the training ended for the Gotham players Kristie let out an excited shriek: âOh my god, Ali ! Iâm so jealous!â Confused the captain looked at her before the blonde showed her an article on her phone which contained photos of Ali and her new girlfriend kissing romantically in the Central Park. Laughing Kelley intervened:â Jealous about the fact that they had a romantic moment in the autumnal Central Park or that she made it into the news with that?â âActually.. both.â, Kristie admitted.Â
Surprised the dark-haired defender mumbled:â Oh no, they wrote about us.â âWhatâs wrong? Itâs a cute photo.â, Kelley furrowed her eyebrows. Enthusiastically Kristie reminded the older player: âExactly and youâre allowed to have fun, Ali. Youâre in your lemonade era, remember?â âStill, I wasnât ready to go public with that yet. And I donât know if she was either.â, Ali bit her lip. Â Empathetic Kelley put an arm around her shoulder:â I get that too.â âI need to call her.â, the captain announced.
You were on set, spending your lunch break with the other actors, when you noticed your phone ringing. Seeing Alis name appear on the display made your heart jump unexpectedly. Happily you took the call; âAli, Hi.â âHi.â, she replied. The tone of her voice made you frown; âWhatâs wrong? You sound a bit upset.â The football player sighed as if to brace herself; âHave you seen the article yet?â
You grabbed your coat and your bag and hurried away from the other actors, ignoring Jason Sudeikisâ sceptical glance; âUhm no. What article? We were busy filming the new tv episodes.â âThey photographed as kissing.â, she came straight to the point. You froze in place; âWait. What?â âIâm sorry.â Your thoughts began racing, bringing you back to how exhilarated you felt during your date. Even though Ali couldnât see you, you still shook your head; âNo, Iâm sorry. If I hadnât kissed you there⌠this article would not exist.â âI donât regret the kiss⌠really.â, the defender replied with determination in her voice. âBut you wish to have been private a little longer, right? Which is understandable considering your divorce is still freshâŚâ, you were thinking out loud.
Ali confirmed your thoughts; âActually, yes. How do you feel about it?â You let a few seconds pass before admitting; âIt feels very early.â âI know.â âBut you should know that Iâm serious with you.â, you added truthfully. Ali let out a small breath, relieved; âMe too. I want this.â Your smile was back in place; âJason gifted me an Ali Krieger Fan club - shirt. Should I wear it to one of your games or would this be too much?â âPlease do it. If they wonât let us have our privacy, we can at least have some fun with them.â You could basically hear Ali grinning through the phone. âExactly what I thought too.â Ali laughed; âI like that. You get me.â
âSo, Iâll see you at the stadium? Will Sloane and Ocean be there too?â, you asked. You had the chance to meet Alis kids briefly for a few times and they had already won your heart, so you got even more excited when you heard Ali say; âYes.â âGreat. Because I already miss them while being away on the set.â âIâm sure theyâre happy to see you again too.â, Ali said, her voice soft. âAnd I miss you too of course.â, you added quickly. âI do hope that!â, the defender teased. âSo much.â, you admitted and with a quick glance on your watch, you ended the call; âOkay, break is over. Iâll call you back tonight.â âTalk to you later.â
The team of Gotham FC was buzzing with excitement as they stepped on the field in Portland. If the players won, this game they would make it to the final. Grinning Lynn Williams touched the shoulder of her captain: âI spotted your girl, Ali!â âReally?â, Ali wanted to know from the forward, trying to discover your face in the crowd at Providence Park. Â Equally thrilled Kristie pointed to the direction where you were standing: âOver there.â âOh. Sheâs wearing the shirt.â, the defender observed with a hint of proudness in her voice.
Amused Kelley remarked: âNot subtle at all.â âItâs not supposed to be.â, Ali told her. A bright smile was on Kristieâs lips:âI love it, Iâm obsessed.â  âOf course, you like that, Kristie.â, Kelley threw in unsurprised. Clearing her throat Lynn drew all the attention on her:â Yeah, so thatâs all cute and sweet but weâve a game to win girls.â âYes. We got to focus on that.â, Ali agreed with the forward. Gothamâs number 5 nodded along:â Yes, weâre making sure that Ali has another game to play before her retirement.âÂ
âWhat retirement? With those many games, I guess you canât really call it retirement yet.â, their captain corrected her smiling. Winking Kelley reminded the dark - haired player: âYes, but itâs one game before the final.â âAnd Iâd love to get to the final, girls.â, with a cheeky grin Ali glanced at each of their teammates to give them that extra motivation tonight.
The game was really close, and they had to went into overtime but thanks to Katie Stengels goal in the 107â minute against the Portland Thorns, they won this important match and would make it to the Final. After the referee blew the final whistle, Kelley cheered loudly:â Sheâs not done yet!â âIâm not leaving without a trophy!â, Ali shouted happily. Ecstatic Kristie who played her first minutes after her injury in todayâs game screamed: âWe won, bitches!â âWho are you calling a bitch?â, Ali threw an eyebrow up at the blonde before the two and Kelley started to dance out their feelings. The words to describe their emotions would be found later, now was the time to just be in the moment and celebrate.
Meanwhile Sloane made her way through the soccer players:â Mummy!â âNo more b-words here, Mewis!, Ali warned her fellow teammate before pulling her daughter into a hug, Hi, baby.â
âOkay, but your new girlfriend has a nice ass.â, Kristie commented with a smirk, disregarding Alis warning, while Sloane jumped into her mums arms; âYou won!â âMewis!â, Ali yelled before turning back to her daughter and agreed with a much softer voice; âYes, we won. That means mum has to play one more game.â âThatâs okay. Love to see you play. Ocean was such a baby though. He fell asleep in her arms.â, Sloane rolled her big brown eyes and pointed in your direction where her little brother was sleeping in your arms. With a laugh, Ali explained to her daughter: âHe is still small.â âYes. Iâll forgive him that.â, Sloane nodded. Alis eyes met yours and you both had to suppress a laugh.
Slowly you bridged the few steps between you two; âHi. Sorry, someone is very sleepy. As is the big one who pretends sheâs wide awake.â You nodded first into Oceans, then into Sloanes direction. Ali put Sloane down who pressed into her leg with a yawn. âLet me take him.â, Ali offered, holding out her hands to take her sleeping son from you. She gratefully smiled at you; âThank you so much for taking care of them. I appreciate it.â âYouâre welcome.â, you replied, leaning over to kiss your girlfriend passionately but careful to not wake up Ocean.
âExcuse me! Those kisses are not child friendly either!â, Kristies voice interrupted the two of you. Alis face was still close to yours as she rolled her eyes; âItâs a kiss. You do worse things with your girlfriend!â âAli is right about that!â, Lynn chimed in. Ali shook her head and you noticed the adoration for her teammates in her eyes, even though she wanted to seem annoyed; âSorry about them.â âItâs okay, trust me. My acting friends are even more dramatic.â, you laughed. âYeah, I can imagine.â, the defender grinned, leaning in for another kiss.
Next to you, Lynns face brightened while she pointed to her teammate; âI bet Kristie would have been great in drama school too!â âYeah, but she canât remember shit.â, Ali interjected. Kristies mouth fell open in outrage; âYou guys are so mean.â âOnly because we love you.â, Kelley now joined your group, winking at Kristie. Ignoring the others, Kristie turned to you, her phone in hand; âCan we take a selfie together? My girlfriend Sam is such a fan of you and canât wait for your upcoming tv show.â âSure, but Iâm for Ali tonightâŚâ, you answered politely. You posed for the photo together, grinning into Kristies phone camera while she smirked; âYeah, we noticed that.â
âThe shirt spoke for itself, huh?â, you laughed with her. An amused smile was on the blondeâs lip:â I can assure you it did.â âGood.â, you nodded satisfied. Slightly displeased Ali asked her teammate:â Are you done now, Kristie?â âYes, sounds like someone is missing her girlfriend.â, the younger player winked at you.
The older woman rolled her eyes before turning her attention to you:â Ignore her.â âWith a pleasure.â, you told her as you kissed her again. Expectantly Ali looked into your eyes when you two ended the kiss:â I hope you know that you have to come to the final now too.â âThatâs alright with me.â, you replied happily. The defender whispered into your ear:âYou seem to bring me luck.â âMeaning I need to wear the same shirt too?â, you asked her, throwing an eyebrow up.
Innocently Ali played with a loose hair string of yours:â Actually, this time Iâd like to see you in my jersey.â âYour Jersey? Okay.â, you agreed. Softly your girlfriend blushed:âItâs a bit more.. official.â âI see.â âIf you want to of course.â, Aliâs face went serious. Quickly you replied: âI do.â Â âIâll bring you one.â, the older woman decided. Proudly you glanced at her:â Thanks, itâll be an honour to wear it.â âItâs an honour for us that you support us.â, Ali corrected you. Looking at her children you said: âThe children look tired.â âLetâs take them to bed now.â
âGood night you three.â, you wished them warmly while you all four were slowly falling asleep in the hotelroom. With a bright grin on her face Ali answered:âGood night.â

Venture + Juno Dating Headcanons
Words: 402
The first date will be 100% a museum date, there's no way out of it. (PLEASE let them yap the whole time about everything.)
You do not have to worry about paying for anything, as theyâll do it every single time.
Theyâre another giggly romantic type, but itâs just them laughing at something you said (Every time with no fail, even if you said the most boring thing ever.) to cover up their nervousness.
Dude has absolutely no previous relationship experience, but there are times where it feels like they lied and actually does. (Sadly not [emoji] and it shows nearly all the time.)
You would have to be stupid to think gift giving isnât one of their love languages, meaning youâll get a present after every date. (Likely something small and rare to express their love for you.)
***
With Sloanâs gloves off, their hands warmed up your own. Tugging you past the many exhibits of the museum, you let them choose where you would go today and it was this museum. One of the few you havenât visited yet.
âOh!â Pausing in front of a statue of a semi-naked woman, âThis is Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, but also lust, passion, pleasure and anything similar.â They turned their head to look at you with adoration covering their face, âAnd I think she definitely blessed me with you~â
âSloan!â But you couldnât help laughing at their words as your face became red.
Now listen, this girl has absolutely no dating experience, nothing even close. (Has a rough idea from some earth movies.)
Sheâll do practically anything with you for a date, but please start simple.
Take her to try some food, sheâll share everything w/ you!!
Will hold your hand the whole time. (She loves to be touching you in general all the time.)
Speaking of, this means sheâll be dragging you around for most (If not all) of the time.
***
âWhatâs this one?â Juno has pressed her hands against the plastic divider, looking at the ice cream flavours. âThe ice cream?â She nods, âThat oneâs Cookieâs and Cream, is that what you want?â Already pulling out your card to pay for some as she nods again.
âWhat are you getting?â âI donât think Iâll get any, as weââ âY/N! No, please share mine, I insist.â âReally?â As soon as sheâs handed the cone itâs passed into your hands, âAbsolutely!â

venture x medic!reader fluff (part two) 2.3k words (can you tell i want to go on a date with sloan)
(part one)
sorry this took so long to get out!! i was almost done and then forgot to finish it for a few weeks and then i added another 500 words :3
It had been a few weeks since you and Sloan met and started getting closer, and a few days since the dig had ended. The Wayfinders had been further excavating the Temple of Anubis, despite the obvious danger, and they seem to have found what they were looking for. Camp was packed up faster than usual, though not so fast that you were worried. You knew about the history of Cairo, especially about Anubis, and you werenât keen on being there for longer than necessary.
Luckily, you were now in Nova Scotia, staying with Sloan for a while. Their apartment was chaotic but organized, at least for them. They had spent the better part of the last week sleeping, and you really couldnât blame them. They somehow managed to stay up for the entire flight back, but as soon as they got the two of you safely to their apartment, they were out cold.
After they caught up on their sleep, they were back to their usual energetic self. They took you to lighthouses, a few galleries and a sculpture garden, the museum of natural history, and you spent nearly a whole day in the geological museum. They talked basically nonstop about the fossils, gems, and minerals, and a small tour group ended up following the two of you for a few hours. You were the last people in the museum when it closed, and they took you to an ice cream shop nearby after.
âGet whatever you want,â they tell you as you look at the menu, âitâs on me.â
âWhat are you getting?â
âGuess.â The corners of their mouth flip up, and they flash their eyebrows.
You pretend to think for a second, looking over the menu once more. âUbe?â They shake their head. âHoney jalapeno pickle?â Their eyes widen.
âIs that one really on the menuâŚ?â They scan it quickly, gasping as they finally see it. âOh my god, that sounds so good. It must be new, I donât remember it last time I came here. Maybe Iâll get a second cone.â
âWhen was the last time you came here?â
âEhâŚâ they trail off, pursing their lips. âA year or so? Iâve been on a few back-to-back digs.â
âWow.â You havenât been a medic with the Wayfinders for very long, only a few months at this point. âDo you miss home?â
They teeter their head. âI mean, yes and no? I moved around a lot as a kid so this isnât really home, just home base. You know?â You nod at them. âWe should order, though, I really want to try that honey ice cream now.â
âAh, youâre right.â You look at the menu one last time before deciding on a candied bacon cone.
âOh! I had that one years ago, it was so good. Youâre gonna love it.â They ask you to find a table to sit at while they go to the counter to order, and you look out the window for a few minutes, watching the sun beginning to set.
âTa-da,â you hear Sloanâs voice singing behind you. You turn to look at them, seeing four cones in their hands. âI got you an extra, I remember you said you like strawberry.â
âYou didnât have to,â you tell them, grabbing the two cones from their hand.
âI know, but I wanted to. You do like strawberry right? Iâm remembering that right?â
âYeah! Itâs my favorite.â You hold the cone out before starting on it. âWant a bite?â
âAbsolutely!â They lean across the table, wrapping their lips around the scoop of ice cream poking out of the cone and taking a bite out of the cone as well. âGah, thatâs so good. You know they make all the flavors in house?â
âOh, really? Thatâs so cool!â
They nod. âDo you wanna try mine?â They hold out both cones, one rocky road and one honey jalapeno pickle.
You hesitate before leaning forward and taking a small bite out of their rocky road cone. âOh my god, thatâs the best rocky road Iâve ever had.â They roll their eyes playfully.
âYou donât have to lie for my benefit.â
You shake your head. âIâm not joking, I swear.â
âDo you wanna try the other one?â
You bite your lip. âUhâŚno, no, I couldnât take that from you. You work hard, you deserve to eat well, you know?â
They lean back. âI wonât force you.â
The two of you start eating your ice cream before it melts, talking about the dig you were just on. Sloan excitedly tells you about how theyâd never seen so many Omnic artifacts before, and that they were a little nervous to be so close to Anubis himself, but that they think the danger was worth it in the end.
âHave you ever been to the Shambali Monastery?â you ask, licking some melting ice cream off the side of your bacon cone.
They practically vibrate as they answer, cracking their honey jalapeno pickle cone slightly. âNo, but Carrie said we might be going there for our next dig! The higher ups at the Society want us to take a break, though. Which is fair, I guess, but I think a whole month off is a bit much.â
âA whole month?â Your surprise is genuine, from the way they were talking, you didnât think they ever took more than a day off between excavations.
âYeah, itâs gonna feel like forever,â they groan. They let out a sigh before flashing you a grin. âItâs alright though, timeâs passing really quickly with you here.â
You feel a blush creeping on your cheeks as you start to bite into your cone. âIâm glad I got to come here.â
They go to take a bite of their cone, but change their mind. âJust one bite, I swear youâll like it.â The green ice cream beginning to melt in the cone is intimidating, but you trust Sloan. Plus, they had brought cups of water for the two of you, and they had just been sitting on the table until now.
You let out a small sigh, but lean forward to suck some ice cream out of the cone. It was interesting, to say the least, but the honey was well-balanced with the jalapeno and pickle. It wasnât too sour, spicy, or sweet, but it wasnât your favorite. âIt isnât bad,â you tell them, taking a sip of water. âI donât think I would get it for myself, though.â
Sloan hums in response, taking bites out of the top of their cone. âThank you for trying it, anyway.â They go back to their rocky road cone, wincing before taking a sip of their water. âThose do not mix well.â
âI could have told you that.â
âBut you didnât.â They pout at you for a second.
âYouâre right, my most sincere apologies.â Youâre finishing off your strawberry cone, focusing on enjoying the last bits of sweet frozen cream, when they ask a question you didnât quite expect. âAre you going to the Monastery?â
You pause. âIâm not sure, I want to, but nobodyâs asked me to come back yet.â
Sloan gasps quietly, their eyes growing wide. âBut youâre such a good medic! Youâre nice, patient, and cute, and you have the best snacks, and you didnât even tell anyone about my secret stash of ice cream. The medic on the last dig, oh my god, he was kind of an asshole. Any time I would hit my head, he was all,â They puff out their chest and imitate a deep voice, ââyou have to rest in the shade for the rest of the day, and if youâre dizzy at all, you canât dig tomorrowâ.â They let out a sigh. âYouâre so much better than he was.â
You laugh at their imitation, pretty sure you know exactly who theyâre talking about. Not all of the medics you were trained with were keen on people, most of them just wanted to do their job and go home as soon as possible. âI appreciate that, I try my best.â
âLet me talk to Carrie for you!â
âI donât want to force myself in.â
âNonsense! You want to come, right?â You nod. âAnd I want you to be there. Itâs not a bother, I swear. We switch between medics too much, some consistency would be good for us. Please let me ask her? Please, please, please?â They clasp their hands together, pouting at you with big eyes.
âOkay, okay. If it isnât too much trouble.â You pop the last part of your cone in your mouth, smiling at them. âI appreciate it. I had a lot of fun on the last one.â
âBecause of me, right?â
You laugh. âOf course, nobody keeps me company like you.â They break eye contact with you, blinking rapidly as they look out the window for a second. âAre you okay?â you ask, worried you said something wrong.
âI like spending time with you, is all.â They look back at you, flashing their grin, and any amount of discomfort you thought you saw is gone. They lean back in their chair, chewing on the last bit of their cone before they stretch, their shirt riding up on their stomach ever so slightly. You struggle to pull your gaze away. âShould we go home? I mean, back to my place?â They get up, pushing their chair in. You mirror their actions, both of you turning to a hand sanitizer dispenser near your table to clean up some of the stickiness.
âWhat time is it?â you ask, looking at the sky outside, late in sunset, street lamps already lit up.
Sloan glances at their phone, grimacing when they see the time. âUh, almost eight.â
You blink. âWow.â It really hadnât felt like that long, despite the clear difference in the amount of light outside. Sloan holds a hand out to you, and you take it, lacing your fingers in theirs. The two of you walk outside into the cool summer evening air, enjoying each otherâs company as you make you way back to Sloanâs apartment. They point various places out, telling you about restaurants as you pass them and parks that they used to frequent.
âCan we check one out tomorrow?â you ask, looking up at them. Their head swivels the other way as you make eye contact, and you could have sworn you saw a slight flush on their cheeks.
âYeah, that sounds nice.â They squeeze your hand, still avoiding your eyes as you talk. âThereâs a couple people I know that like to walk their dogs at that one,â they tell you, pointing at the one youâre passing.
The conversation continues to flow as you approach their apartment, and they unlock and open the door for you as you finally make it into the building. You step in, holding the door for them as they enter behind you, silent in a comfortable way as they lock the door.
âI had a lot of fun today, thank you for showing me around,â you tell them.
They flash a smile at you. âI had fun taking you around, Iâm glad you liked it. I like this city, even though I never really get to spend a lot of time in it.â
âDo you ever want to stay here?â
They hum for a moment. âI donât think so. I want to see everything the world has to offer, now and in the past.â They pick your hand up from your side and squeeze it. âI like traveling more with you, though.â Now itâs your turn to blush.
âI like traveling with you, too. I havenât been able to go to a lot of places, but I hope we can visit the Monastery together.â
Sloan squeezes your hand, almost without a thought, and their lips turn up at the corners. âI hope so, too.â
The two of you make your way towards bed, and you turn to leave their room, intending to sleep on the couch, but Sloan reaches out and grabs your wrist from their bed before you can.
âWhere are you going?â
âI was going to crash on the couch.â
âWhy?â
You pause. âI just kind of assumedâŚâ
They pout at you. âMy bed is big enough for both of us, I donât want you to feel unwelcome.â
âIt really isnât a big deal -â you try to protest.
âIâll sleep on the couch instead.â They release your wrist, sitting up in bed and turning so their legs are hanging off the side. âYouâre my guest, you deserve to be comfortable.â
âNo, no, I canât take your bed from you.â
âThen we should share.â
âUhâŚâ At this point, itâs nearing midnight. Youâve had a long day, youâre tired, and the thought of getting to sleep that close to Sloan doesnât sound bad, just a little intimidating. So you give in. âOkay.â You climb into bed next to them, just enough space between the two of you that you donât feel like youâre crowding them, but close enough that you can feel the heat radiating off their skin.
They turn on their side so theyâre looking at you. âGoodnight, [Y/N].â
You smile at them, not wanting to fall asleep just yet. âGoodnight, Sloan.â They shut their eyes and their face relaxes relatively quickly. You keep watching them for a moment, admiring their features as they start to snore softly. Their hand is lying next to their head, and you rest yours near it, lacing your pinkie in theirs. You could swear you see a smile on their face, but itâs gone just a moment later. You manage to fall asleep in just a few minutes.
In the morning, you wake up with their arm wrapped around your torso, holding you close, with your head pressed into their chest and their face nuzzled into your hair. You pretend to go back to sleep until Sloan wakes up, partially because you donât want to disturb them and partially because you want to enjoy the moment a little while longer.

The dim white light of Taylorâs laptop was cast on her face as she scrolled through the website directory of the museum her first date with you was to take place at. She took the nail of her thumb between her teeth as she leaned forward slightly, squinting at the museum layout and its floors.
When you asked her out, she had been so excited that she just had to blurt a bunch of stupid and untrue things in the heat of the moment.
âI totally love museums!â she had suddenly said out of nowhere right after quickly agreeing to go out with you. âNicky and I love to visit any sort of museum when we travel together. Like, thereâs this one in Paris, I think. The Louvre. Super pretty. Like, really pretty.â
Sheâd never even been to the Louvre, and actually made about a billion excuses to avoid going on the day the famous museum was set on the travel itinerary. But things just seemed so perfect at the time, she could hardly stop herself from making up lies just to make the night go even better.
Dan Pinto was holding a camping trip to film one of his movies, and on the day of wrapping he held a get-together to celebrate having finished filming his first official short film, written and produced by him and his close friends.
Taylor didnât know Dan all that well aside from the fact that he was Ingridâs boyfriend, so she was initially against going out and spending a night with his band of friends when Ingrid invited her to go, not to mention that Taylor hated camping.
To her, there was nothing enjoyable about sitting around a dirty field of grass in the middle of nowhere to get eaten alive by mosquitoes and have your hair filled with all sorts of flies and bugs that you wouldnât ever be able to get out of there until you showered â and although she made a point to shower right after being outdoors for a period of time, the idea of having bugs in her hair at all was a complete turn-off.
But Ingrid begged for her to go because sheâd only been with Dan for about two weeks by then and she too knew very little of his friends, and didnât want to go to the celebration without a friend with her. She finally gave in, and both Taylor and Ingrid went to the mosquito-infested forest party.
Taylor had met you several times before, enough to have gotten your number; you were a mutual friend of one of Danâs mutual friends, and Taylor first met you at a Christmas party. She hadnât any clue you were going to be at the get-together and the moment she saw you, she knew sheâd weather as many mosquitoes and hair-bugs as it took if it meant spending the whole night talking with you.
And she pulled it off perfectly. She was able to get you alone for most of the night, talking with you while sitting with each other at one of the camping park benches away from the celebration, around the fire when they started making sâmores, and anywhere it was quiet enough to have a conversation.Â
But she did like it especially when it was a bit louder, for that meant you had to step a bit closer to her in order to hear her when she spoke, and Taylor thought you smelled nice.
Because she had work in the morning, Ingrid ended up being the one to pull her away from the party, but not before you asked Taylor if she wanted to go out with you one afternoon when she was free. She was more than enthusiastic to set a date with you, which ended up being that weekend, and you suggested going to a museum youâd been wanting to visit.
She wanted to be completely prepared for her date with you and not come off as a liar so early into things, but most importantly, Taylor wanted to be able to impress you with all her knowledge on the things you loved. She spent about an hour and a half that night researching various things about what the museum was showcasing on different floors and exhibits so she had something interesting to say for just about everything.Â
Taylor went to bed feeling assured in her preparation, knowing that sheâd come off as an intelligent and worldly person who was not as materialistic and shallow as she seemed from her social media, and someone youâd want to go out with for a second date, and a third, and all your dates from that point onwards.Â
In simpler terms, Taylor wanted to secure her chances at being your girlfriend.Â
The day of the date, she woke up extra early to make herself a fulfilling breakfast and to take some extra time on her makeup and to carefully plan out her outfit for that afternoon so by the time you picked her up at her place, she was completely ready.
She tried not to think much of it, especially as Taylor wasnât typically a nervous person, but she also felt compelled to wake up early to prepare for the date because she was rather anxious for her day out with you.
You hadnât ever spent that much time alone with her before. What if you realised that she wasnât all that you thought she was? What if you regretted asking her out?
But Taylor was skilled at self-control and self-discipline, and she told herself that continuing to think about the possible negative outcomes of her date left less room for the positives. So she kept herself busy from the moment she awoke until the second she stepped foot outside her house to wait for you.
Her nerves began to fray again and she picked awkwardly at her pale pink nail polish. Her mind was soon filled with heaps of questions that only made her feel a lot more nervous.
Taylor had always been a straightforward type of girl with straightforward answers to straightforward questions; she wasnât an overthinker, she wasnât a worrier. But standing in front of her house waiting for you to come around and pick her up for your first date together made her feel uncharacteristically anxious.
She didnât think you were the type, but Taylor worried that perhaps you might change your mind halfway to her house. She wasnât very much the kind of person she seemed like online and she never minded how she seemed like on social media until now.
What if you changed your mind about her?Â
The soft hum of an approaching car came down the road and Taylor raised her head to see you driving towards her. Her worries were immediately done away with at the sight of you and she quickly raised her arm and waved excitedly.
You greeted her eagerly when she slipped into the passenger's side.Â
âHi, Y/N,â Taylor said in return and reached over and hugged you. You smiled at the warm enthusiasm that was typical for her and Taylor felt reassured. She buckled herself in and smiled at you. âIâm really excited,â she confessed.
âMe too,â you replied honestly. âIâm glad we finally get to spend time together on our own.â You put the museumâs address into Google Maps then went on your way. âI mean, every other time was really nice too butâŚâ
Taylor tucked her hands under her legs and leaned forward a little to get a look at your face. âBut itâs nicer to get each other to ourselves,â she said.
You nodded in agreement and Taylor smiled. She felt good about the upcoming date and on the way to the museum, she briefly went over in her mind what sheâd researched last night to be able to keep it fresh in her memory.
âThis place is so pretty,â Taylor mused after the two of you parked and were now standing on the steps of the museum looking up at the front.Â
Beautiful sizable pillars stretched up into the never-ending sky, holding up the angled stone roof. The architecture looked Grecian though in the center of Los Angeles, a beautiful grand stone building that looked nearly like polished marble when it glistened in the summer sun.
âDo you wanna post this on your Instagram?â you asked then paused on the steps to allow Taylor to take a photo.Â
Hesitantly as if considering whether to finish her response though sheâd already instantly began to reply, Taylor drawled out a nervously prolonged, âNo.â
Then she quickly supplemented by asking, âDid you want me to?â
âNo,â you answered and looked over at her with a bit of a grin.Â
Taylor ventured through your eyes with her own and found your implicit way of saying you wanted the date to be just for the two of you to be extremely endearing â especially your sincerity.Â
You were genuine and kind-hearted and Taylor felt so trusting of you, and she was glad to feel that way too.
After watching her cheeks flush slightly, you walked forward up the stairs and looked back at Taylor who quickly caught up with you, her shoulder brushing against yours.Â
Her eyes darted around the exterior of the museum as it grew larger and taller with each step towards it, green irises filled with childish fascination and what you assumed to be liberated vulnerability as youâd never seen Taylor look so comfortable.Â
The two of you always had good conversations when youâve spoken with each other and to some extent, being with a stranger you feel comfortable with nearly always warranted oneâs guard to be let down, but this felt different.Â
It felt like Taylor didnât feel as if she needed to be alert and on her toes, always ready to have conversations with one person to the next, seemingly always being able to read those in front of her with charming ease.Â
But today she looked relaxed with her guard let down, and you wondered if this was how it felt to be someone who was close with Taylor Sloane, the influencer with a beloved and infamous social presence.Â
Taylor felt you staring at her and looked over at you when the both of you joined the line to pay for the museum tickets, and she felt her heart skip a beat at the sight of how intrigued you seemed just looking at her.Â
She felt a little nervous having your undivided attention, which was uncharacteristic for her as someone who normally always had eyes on her.Â
But it was different when it was you.Â
For a good while, things went perfectly; Taylor could recall all the things sheâd researched from last night and felt proud of how she could contribute even a little to how excited you were talking about the museum as you walked through it together.Â
She felt that you thought she was intelligent and worldly, and that you were seeing how different she could be outside of social media.Â
You seemed to be in awe of the museum entirely, and she couldnât help but feel weak at the knees every time you went on terribly dorky spiels about things like the Roman Empire and the Italian Renaissance.
She was never into the kinds of things you were impassioned by, and in fact, Taylor was sure that if youâd met during any point of time before when she first met you at the Christmas party last year, the two of you wouldnât have ever interacted â you were just so different in interests and friends and hobbies.
Even so, Taylor knew that sheâd listen to lectures upon lectures on things sheâd never even think twice about like the agriculture in the era of Ancient Rome or painting techniques used during the Renaissance so long as you were the one speaking.
She wondered if her cheeks flushed as much as she felt they did every time you looked over at her with the sweetest grin while you were talking about things you liked, and how it widened each time she expressed interest in them.Â
Last nightâs research took a few hours away from her sleep but she was repaid tenfold at the sight of your excitement when she mentioned things you loved.
Taylor didnât often care about her impressions on people away from her life as an influencer as most times socialising was just business â promoting herself, making connections to better her interactions and reach, and encouraging brands to sponsor her.Â
But she felt herself caring a lot about things with you that she couldnât recall even considering with others, like proving to you that she wasnât as shallow as she mightâve initially seemed online and ensuring youâd enjoy spending time with her.Â
It felt like things would go just as Taylor had meticulously planned the night before, and if she was as charming as she hoped, sheâd even get a kiss or at the very least the opportunity to hold your hand.
She didnât anticipate in any of her preparations, however, to have her date with you interrupted.
Taylor had only ever talked with Elliot a handful of times and only within a group of people â and she wanted it that way. She considered him to be pompous and self-obsessed.Â
He was the kind of vegan to blurt out much louder than necessary that he couldnât eat a type of food offered to him because he was vegan, to have negative opinions on every infamous classical philosopher and writer to show that he was the intelligent black sheep, who abhorred every form of self-promotion and platform of social media because they were âpart of a intricate labyrinth that supplied vanity to those who lacked true confidence in themselves.â
In every way, he and Taylor were complete opposites, and to put it frankly, she couldnât stand him.
He approached you and asked what you were doing at the museum, to which you said you were on a date with Taylor for the afternoon.Â
She swooned at your willingness to call it a dateâ to other people.Â
Elliot looked over at Taylor at the mention of her. His height made it seem to her that he was regarding her from a position of superiority and Taylor bristled defensively at the sight. He seemed perplexed at the idea of her and you being out on a date and his eyebrows furrowed together then arched up as if he was humoured at something.
But a moment of silence passed wherein no laughter was exchanged and Elliot then knew that no joke had been told.
âOh,â he said.
To be cordial or perhaps to mock, he asked, âAre you enjoying yourselves?â
âWe are,â Taylor quipped.
Elliotâs eyes narrowed the tiniest bit and he looked as if he was picking apart her response. It was a subtle tell, but Taylor could see the way he scrutinised her.Â
âWhat are you doing here?â you asked in a friendly tone.Â
Taylor refused to look at him lest it give him the hint that she did want him around and saw him as anything more than an irritating intruder.
As the two of you spoke, she looked around at the museum floor and at all the things she had yet to say about a particular porcelain vase that was in a glass case a few metres away, a history in which sheâd researched in detail last night because of how pretty it looked.Â
She thought youâd be pleased with how much she knew about it.Â
From what Taylor was forced to hear, Elliot was waiting for his family to arrive at the museum for he was planning on giving them a tour; they were visiting him and theyâd only just landed from Paris this week.
âWould you mind if I followed the both of you around until they arrive?â Elliot then asked, and Taylor could swear that she wouldnât have felt worse if suddenly the museum ceiling crumbled down and crushed her under its debris and broke her ankle.
In spite of having just been told that you were on a date together, he had the gall to suggest that he intrude on your time together. He very evidently did not take the date seriously, nor did he respect Taylor as a serious prospective partner of yours.
She knew youâd say yes for although she was assured that you were certainly not as close with him as she was with you, you were friendly and warm â Taylor liked this about you a lot, so she couldnât entirely complain about your resolve â and because sheâd never told you how she felt about him.
But you turned to her anyways, much to her surprise, searching her expression for an answer.Â
Taylor felt so warmed by your gesture, seeking her approval for a decision you easily couldâve made on your own and in doing so only further defining the time you were spending together as a date.Â
It wouldnât be for long, could it, if he was just waiting for his family? And what could possibly happen if you already seemed so interested in spending time with her?
So Taylor finally said, âThatâs totally fine with me.â
Aside from the discomfort of having Elliot walking alongside you while she followed along the other side, things seemed to be going alright; there werenât any disputes between Taylor and Elliot, and you still kept trying to make sure that she was comfortable with him tagging along.
It was only because of how you pulled her to the side at one point when Elliot was on the phone and quietly asked her if she was really okay with him tagging along that Taylor was able to subdue the bitterness she felt towards him.
Hearing you apologise for his intrusion and seeing how much you had in common with him â talking to him about old college friends and some interests you shared with him that Taylor didnât share with you â encouraged her to bear his presence.Â
As the long minutes passed, Taylor began to feel increasingly different from you.Â
Initially, sheâd believed that she and you were closer than you were with Elliot by a long shot, and yet there were references to jokes and memories that Taylor didnât know about and discussions of shared interests that she couldnât even begin to pretend she knew anything about.
For a few moments she felt as if she was only someone passing the two of you, no different from all the other people walking by whoâd happen to brush your shoulder and whoâd come with their own families and friends, people youâd never even met nor spared even a passing glance to â strangers.
You always made sure to include her in your conversations, always brushing the back of your hand against hers to get her attention so you could meet her eyes and silently check in on her to make sure she felt alright, so it wasnât that you treated her like a stranger in any respect.
In fact, you were attentive to her and so considerate, and that only made Taylor want to try harder in earning your favour. So she decided sheâd try her hand at befriending Elliot, to bridge that distance she felt laid between the two of you and win a better chance at becoming your girlfriend.
You excused yourself to quickly dash out of the museum and pay for an extra hour of parking that you initially didnât think you needed but ended up having to go out and get lest you leave the date with Taylor with a parking ticket under your windshield wiper.Â
So Taylor thought it was the perfect time to try and get closer with Elliot, who she was left with beside the museumâs food court.
Feigning a sudden realisation to ease into a natural conversation, Taylor said, âI think Ingrid told me that you met Y/N in college. How long were you in Miami for?â
âMiami?â he asked with a slightly humoured expression then looked over at her.
Taylor uncrossed her arms and replied, âY/N went there for college, didnât she?â
âOh,â Elliot said and chuckled a little. âI wouldnât be caught dead in Miami, chĂŠrie. We met in Paris; she studied there for a year.â
Taylor didnât know youâd ever been to Paris. It wasnât a major detail of your life, but a bout of uncertainty settled within her anyway.Â
In the midst of the blanket of self-doubt that started to come over her, heavy and downcast, Elliot spoke. âI hope you donât take offence to this, but I never expected Y/N to take up company with someone like you.â
âSomeone like me?â Taylor repeated, evidently feeling a bit insulted as she looked up at him with a puzzled expression.Â
âI only mean that I wouldâve never predicted for Y/N to take a social media influencer such as yourself on a date,â he replied. His words were condescending and belittling of Taylorâs occupation, but she found herself wanting to know more about what he was saying. âThe type of partner I always imagined she was interested in was⌠understated, in a way. And you have a lot of presence. That is all that I mean.â
Perhaps she shouldâve brushed him off and made peace with not befriending him, but all Taylor could run through her mind was how much sheâd been enjoying her date with you, and how all she wanted to do was have you like her.
So she asked, âWhat do you mean by understated?â
âThe partners she had in college were the kinds of people you wouldnât realise were attending a party until someone brought their name up by chance,â Elliot tried to explain. His accent made his recollection sound allegorical. âAnd yet, you are someone who everyone knows of, or if not youâd be easy to spot in a very crowded room, easy to get to know through word of mouth.â
Taylor bristled. How could he possibly know anything about her, having only had a handful of conversations with her and hearing more about her through others rather than from herself?
âI am only saying that I am surprised you get along so well,â he concluded.
It was clear that he thought little of her, and that he was being outwardly friendly with her as one would treat someone they pitied. He regarded Taylor from a position of superiority, seeing her as nothing but something to brush off with his twisted version of kindness whose bitter arrogance was guised as goodwill.
But in spite of all that, Taylor couldnât help but think that perhaps he was right, in a way. She started thinking about all the things she had yet to know about you, and here she was envisioning being your girlfriend.Â
Sheâd spent all day trying to convince you that she wasnât what she seemed like at first glance, but Taylor considered that she was exactly what she seemed â vain, uneducated, and shallow.
And⌠you didnât deserve someone like that.
âIâm back, sorry!â you huffed when you jogged back over to Taylor and Elliot. âOkay, I paid for another hour so thereâs no rush.â
Taylor avoided meeting your eyes and she looked over to the side while Elliot told you that his family would be about half an hour, so heâd leave before your parking spot expired.
The three of you walked forward, picking up from where youâd left off when you had to quickly run out to the car.
You stepped back and let Elliot carry on before you circled your fingers around Taylorâs wrist carefully and kept her back with you.Â
âAre you feeling okay?â you asked in a hushed tone, and it felt like it was just the two of you again.Â
âIâm feeling okay,â Taylor reassured with a smile that didnât look convincing. She looked up from the floor when you didnât respond right away.
She saw the way you regarded her with suspicion and she insisted, âIâm okay. Iâm just a bit tired from all the walking.â
Your hand raised and the back of your index finger ran down against the slope of Taylorâs jaw. It was so gentle and, oh, you looked at her with so much kindness in your soft eyes.Â
For a moment Taylor considered letting the overwhelming feelings from the day catch up to her so she could cry and have you comfort her.Â
âIâm gonna get rid of Elliot, okay?â you told her. âAnd we can just be on our own like we planned. Is that alright?â
Taylor let the warmth in her chest settle before she nodded happily. Then you wrapped your hand around hers and squeezed it before leaving her and catching back up to Elliot ahead.Â
She watched as you exchanged a few words with him. He seemed shocked and even perplexed at being left, and that almost brought a sense of joy in Taylor.Â
The bastard.Â
You came back and took her hand, interlacing your fingers and leading her away. She stepped close to you so your arms brushed against each other every time either of you swung them in the slightest.Â
âIâm glad we left,â you breathed out when you got down to the floor below together. âIâm sorry that he stuck around for that long. I had no idea how to get rid of him.â
âI thought you liked him,â said Taylor, surprised.Â
You shrugged and looked over your shoulder a little to make sure he wasnât still around. âIâve known him for a while,â you told her. âWeâre friendly, but not friends.â
You stopped walking and looked at Taylor, running your thumb against the back of her fingers. âBesides, I wanted to be alone with you today. It was supposed to be a day for just us.â
Taylor all but melted at your words, then felt a heavy pang of guilt spread through her stomach. She looked away.Â
âWhatâs the matter?â you asked, following her eyes as she looked over at a group of people coming off the elevator.Â
The concern youâd shown for her countless times today made Taylor feel like the worst person ever. She didnât deserve your consideration.Â
She took a breath before finally saying, âWeâre so different.â
âSo? I like that. Youâre so outgoing and open and nice. Iâm not as out there as you are, but thereâs also a reason why everyone knows you. Youâre⌠sort of magnetic,â you confessed, feeling a little bashful and awkwardly scratching at your cheek.Â
âPlus, weâre not that different,â you told her with a smile. âI like you exactly as you are. I like you even more because of how you pretended to love museums and miraculously came to the date with all this knowledge about the most niche things ever.â
Taylorâs lips parted and she looked surprised. âYou knew that I just⌠searched it up?â she asked.Â
When you looked at her with a lighthearted smile, she felt her cheeks flush in embarrassment and she redirected her gaze away from you. But you cupped her cheek and made her meet your eyes.Â
âBut I like that about you, you know? I donât know if you know, but youâre really just as nerdy as I am. What kind of person does all that for a first date?â you said with a laugh, and Taylor looked into your eyes to find you staring at her with so much admiration and warmth.Â
âSo⌠You actually like me?â Taylor asked, perking up.Â
You giggled a little â you couldnât help it looking at her perk up like an excited puppy â and she hit your arm before looking away. âS-Stop⌠Iâm being serious.â
With your warm hand still on her cheek, you made her look at you again before saying, âTaylor, I really like you. I think youâre so smart and really cute. I love how creative and outgoing you are, and Iâve really been liking spending time with you. But weâre always with other people, and I think itâd be better if we had time to ourselves. Donât you agree?â
Taylor felt so much more hopeful now and she nodded excitedly. She couldnât believe how lucky sheâd gotten going on a date with you.Â
âHave you ever been to the zoo here?â you suddenly asked.Â
She smiled. âNo.â
âMe neither,â you replied. âDo you wanna go?â
She nodded and stepped towards you. She raised her hand to yours that was cupping your cheek and wrapped her fingers around your wrist gently. âYes, please,â she answered.
The two of you left the museum together after taking her hand with yours again.
When you stepped down from the museum steps, you stopped for a moment and Taylor felt the tug of your hand. She turned around and you pulled her against you.Â
You rounded your fingers to the back of her head, pulling her close and kissing her. You really did feel like doing it; maybe it was feeling how soft her hand was or watching how pretty her hair looked when she walked ahead of you or seeing the smile on her face.Â
Her lips were so soft. She tasted like mint and grapefruit.
You pulled away and Taylor was blushing, eyes locked on yours and taking in how you looked at her. She eventually looked away from you when the wind blew a bit of her hair in her eyes and tore her away from her enamoured stupor.Â
âIs that how you kiss all your friendsâŚ?â she asked with the intention of teasing though you knew her words had more meaning.
After a moment of admiring how adorable she looked, slightly pouty and jealous, you softly ran the pad of your thumb against her cheek and whispered, âNo. Just you.â
Taylor looked back over at you and smiled. She got to hold your hand and got a kiss; she was the luckiest girl in the whole world. She couldnât help the way she started laughing. She was just so happy.Â

Hiii I was wondering if you can do a venture fluff alphabet? đ
I NEVER KNEW THIS WAS A THING OMG
Sloan Camron Fluff Alphabet
Overwatch
2nd POV
â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘
A = Activities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?
- sloan will literally do anything with you, but they prefer museum dates, pottery classes/paint pottery, aquariums, hikes, day trips, amusement parks-just anything thatâs outside really
- but they also just like to relax with you at home, staying in comfy clothes and just cuddle all day!
B = Beauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?
- sloan LOVES your eyes! just how they sparkle in the sun, how they light up when youâre talking about an interest and much more! sloan could stare into your eyes all day if youâd let them
- venture really like their dimples/smile. theyâll quote the line from coco where miguel goes âdimple. no dimple. dimple. no dimple.â just randomlyđ
C = Comfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?
- honestly, it kind of depends on how you were acting when they found you
- like if you were pissy and in a bad mood, theyâd leave you alone to cool off. and if youâre crying your eyes out, they will not leave your side, holding you in their arms and helping you calm down from your state
- but sloan will try to get you to talk about whatâs going on, so that way they can give you some advice
- and to get your mind off of it, theyâll kiss you all over your face and just cuddle with you:)
D = Dreams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?
- sloan definitely wants to get married to you sometime in the future:}
- maybe a few kids if you both agree on it, but theyâll totally be fine if you didnât want a family!
- theyâd probably wait until all of this when they leave overwatch and possibly the wayfinderâs. they just want to prioritize you and your relationship over everything and with them traveling they feel like itâll be hard, but if you tell them to stay then they well!
E = Equal - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?
- theyâre kinda of both, not one over the other, directly in the middle
F = Fight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?
- sloan would be super forgiving, theyâre the type of person to not want to go to bed angry at one another, so theyâre always wanting to talk things out unless itâs something you donât want to talk about in the moment
- if the two of you get into a fight, itâs the calmest thing ever. neither of you are yelling at one another, or accusing each other. just; one person goes first and gives their perspective, then when the first person is done, the other person will go
- itâs a very calming environment, maybe some crying from both of you, but the problem is instantly resolved!
G = Gratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?
- sloan is very grateful for everything that theyâve gotten in life, all the sacrifices they made, their family/friends made,
- if youâre working your ass off, sloan is SO thankful for you and all that you do! all of your achievements will not go unnoticed by your partner!:)
H = Honesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?
- sloan isnât hiding anything from you(unless its family related stuff that theyâre not ready to share yet) but you know everything about them
I = Inspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?
- i think you mainly helped venture noticed some of the bad habits that they have, like how theyâre kinda oblivious and how they talk over people by accident.
- obviously, the habits arenât completely gone, as they have had these habits ever since they were a kid, but theyâve gotten better!
J = Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?
- sloan hardly gets jealous, but if they do itâs for the right reason; like if someoneâs hitting on you when youâre making it obvious that youâre taken or stuff like that
- if they are jealous, theyâll act supper touchy/flirty with you in front of the person thatâs annoying you. theyâll kiss your cheeks, let their hands wonder, have their hand around your waist and whatnot
K = Kiss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?
- at first they were a horrible kisser, since theyâve never been in a relationship before
- but as time quickly went on, they got better
- the first kiss was kind of romantic, it was after a date/hangout and you both went for a kiss. their lips were chapped, tasted like gravel/dirt, and they accidentally nicked you with their chipped tooth, which made your lip bleed
L = Love Confession - How would they confess to their s/o? (this is from a scenario i wrote on my wattpadđ)
- they waited a few weeks before confessing, getting advice from angela and also making sure that their feelings were permanent as well as a few other factors they wanted to clear up
- "i need to tell you something!"
"..."
"I REALLY LIKE YOU!! PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME!"
"..."
*gasps dramatically* "YOU WILL?!"
"...â
"...why the fuck am i roleplaying with a rock."
- this is how the confession went:
"i like you! i think? i dunno! everything is so confusing about this, i don't know what i'm doing!-"
"it's okay! i already knew you liked me. and i like you too, sloan."
"...REALLY?!"
M = Marriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?
- HELL YEAH THEY WANT TO MARRY YOU
- they were SOOO nervous about proposing, they asked everyone they knew for tips and advice for it
- they probably proposed with a custom ring with your favorite gemstone/your birthstone
- and they probably proposed either in a really cave that they explored OR your dream location
- again, sloan was very nervous about proposing. they almost fucked it up from how nervous they were but they were relieved when you said yes!:)
- nothing about your relationship really changed, just the fact that the two of you were engaged and getting married!
N = Nicknames - What do they call their s/o?
- sloan had a verity of nicknames for youđ
cariĂąo
mi amor
babe
hun
mi vida
hermosa/hermosos
tesoro
any cute gem related nickname that you like
O = On Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?
- they are the sameâŚjust 10 times worse
- they will not shut up about you (unless the person theyâre talking to gets annoyed by their yapping) theyâre just so in love with you!
- itâs super obvious to others, since whenever you walk into the room, they have a love sick look on their face
- they randomly give you artifacts, gems and cool rocks that they found that reminded them of you! it could even be a rock they found on the sidewalk and theyâd give it to you!
P = PDA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?
- theyâre not really bragging, just yapping about their undying love, like i said on On Cloud Nine
- sloan isnât shy to kiss you in front of others, the wayfinderâs have seen WAYY worse, so theyâre not bothered by a little pda from the two of you:)
Q = Quirk - Some random ability they have thatâs beneficial in a relationship.
- sloan can make you laugh without even trying.
- they could say the dumbest thing and itâs the funniest thing ever
R = Romance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? ClichĂŠ or rather creative?
- theyâre very romantic!
- they will do everything and anything for you, just to see you smile!
S = Support - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?
- venture is very supportive, your biggest cheerleader EVER
- they do their best to learn about your hobby/goal so they can help you in the best way possible!
T = Thrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?
- venture kinda of prefers the same routine, but is down to change some things up in the relationship to add to the thrill.
- âwe gotta have lore for when weâre older!â
U = Understanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?
- they know you from how much you tell them things, which is hopefully a lot since they tell you a lot of things in their life:)
- theyâre very understanding with things, and there might be some things that they donât understand, but are willing to learn more about it for you, like in Support
V = Value - How important is the relationship to them? What is itâs worth in comparison to other things in their life?
- your relationship is very important to sloan, they wouldnât want to lose it
- they would quit their job if you told them too, you matter too much to them for them to lose
W = Wild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.
- venture has a buttload of songs saved for your ringtone, such as
my girl, the temptations
be my baby, the ronettes
better in the dark, jordana, tv girl
luna, amore e no, piero piccioni
and a bunch of other songs:)
- they also have many pictures of you in their wallet, one on their drill and some other places
X = XOXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?
- they are very affectionate, i go into more detail in the sfw alphabet btw:3
- they will DIE if they donât get cuddles and kisses from you! you are their LIFELINE!
Y = Yearning - How will they cope when theyâre missing their partner?
- sloan will stay up late watching videos of the two of you, looking at pictures, listening to voicemails/voice messages, reread old texts, andâŚykâŚ
- theyâre just waiting until the mission is over until theyâre in your arms again!!
Z = Zeal - Are they willing to go to great lenghts for the relationship? If so, what kind of?
- yes! theyâre willing to do anything to make you happy!
- unless itâs murdering someone then they might have to decline (theyâll ask someone else to do it/j)
- but in all seriousness, if you wanted them to leave overwatch/wayfinderâs they would do it, even though it would pain them to leave just an amazing job, they would for you:)
â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘
