Oh man this took me more than a month of work and it was quite a fun journey. Definitely got inspired by T.B.’s “Batman Returns” atmosphere. This is my first ever finished comic, which I made in a sketch!! version, mostly for personal fun. Compliments and criticism are welcome

i honestly think that part of L's logic in handcuffing light to him was specifically to prevent them from bonding over this during yotsuba. can't really talk about it when your torturer is standing, like, right there.

i also think that post-yotsuba they both have weird fucked up methods of coping with being tortured that would interact in SUCH fun ways… like misa is repressing everything by saying the torture "proved" how much she likes light, and light thinks of it as being cornered ("i got too emotional and he cornered me") because he has to think of everything bad that's ever happened to him as a move in a game rather than him being the victim of forces outside of his control. So That's Fun. i like to think that sometimes at yagami family dinner they both simultaneously remember what it's like to be staring down the barrel of a gun aimed by the tired man eating fish in front of them and maybe misa tries to hold light's hand about it and light jerks away.

honestly i can't even be mad at the panel where gege forgot megumi's left scar like does it show a lack of attention to detail fr a major character yes but also as an artist it's so funny to me bc i would do that. i have done that

We get to see a glimpse of Click's inner workings! How his mind operates!! His complicated relationship with himself and the other pinks and what it is to BE a pink!!!! Is he just like them? Are they all the same?? Is HE the horrible one??? Is he not horrible ENOUGH???? WHO KNOWS!!! And the 'I miss my department' like MANS DOESN'T WANNA BE THERE!!! HE DOESN'T WANNA THINK ABOUT IT!!!! HE HATES IT HERE CAUSE INTERACTING WITH THESE GUYS MAKES HIM THINK TOO MUCH💕💖💕💖

Like, what if they're all the same? Then Click isn't special and he's just another darkner abiding by the rules of his code.

What if the others laced the candy platter and he didn't? Then Click is too soft, they'll eat him alive out there! How is he going to survive!!

What if he's projecting and nobody else even thought of lacing the candy? Does that mean he's just a horrible person in general? Is it not just a pink thing and more a HIM thing?

And then the visuals, the zooming in into the one piece of candy among all the others in the candy platter as he does Thoughts™

I’m rereading all of your fics bc I have completely crashed out bc of that bday post (thanks Paige)… and I love all of the pet names you use between Paige and Azzi 😭 like P calling A “baby”, “love”, “babe”… it’s so domestic and makes me think about THE live when Azzi is trying to Paige’s attention and yells “HONEYYY!”

I love these in love love birds so much and man I’m not even bitter or slightly jealous of them anymore 😭 like I can’t be bc their love is too pure and they deserve it so much.

Anyway, my question: do you fence? Your duel scene absolutely captured the quickness and wit and elegance of fencing and made me look at magical duels in a completely different way!

This is probably the most flattering compliment I could get about my dueling scenes. The answer is yes, but I only did it briefly, and a long time ago, so my knowledge is heavily weighted towards vocabulary over practice. I know what things are called, but I was never good enough to get to the higher levels of strategy & technique, so a lot of that bit is spun from whole-cloth. I also follow the advice of a writer whose name I've forgotten, but he basically said that young writers get hung up too much on blow-by-blow action, and forget that they're not choreographing a movie, they're writing a scene — you don't need to describe every move if you can capture how it feels. So I tried to capture the feeling of fencing, which was a high-energy kind of antagonistic dancing.

the funniest thing about the Anby and Nicole sharing the name Demara is that Anby obviously has a history about her clones being her sisters, and zzz is largely about family connections. So when Anby gives her the orphanage last name, Anby 100% takes it as someone giving her a home and a place to be and connects that to sisterhood. Meanwhile, Nicole like, only ever calls Anby her "friend" in all the interaction lines between the two. Imagine being Anby hearing Nicole say "how dare you do that to my friend!" when Anby goes down in combat. You gave her a home, last name, and reason to live and fight and youre like, just her friend.
