i honestly think that part of L's logic in handcuffing light to him was specifically to prevent them from bonding over this during yotsuba. can't really talk about it when your torturer is standing, like, right there.

i also think that post-yotsuba they both have weird fucked up methods of coping with being tortured that would interact in SUCH fun ways… like misa is repressing everything by saying the torture "proved" how much she likes light, and light thinks of it as being cornered ("i got too emotional and he cornered me") because he has to think of everything bad that's ever happened to him as a move in a game rather than him being the victim of forces outside of his control. So That's Fun. i like to think that sometimes at yagami family dinner they both simultaneously remember what it's like to be staring down the barrel of a gun aimed by the tired man eating fish in front of them and maybe misa tries to hold light's hand about it and light jerks away.
