specifically about video games rating systems; and who has the most strict guidelines for things…

tho comparing ratings across different regions is kind of neat to see the overlap and also see how things are different depending on where you are.

all this interest simply because of ‘slime rancher: plortable edition’

In the US and Canada for some reason it’s E10+ based on the ESRB… in Europe and where PEGI is used it’s 3+ and idk what it’s rated elsewhere. Probably also 3+ Australia it’s G for general audiences.

but why is it 10+ in the US and Canada? Or wherever else the ESRB is used? Tho I’d assume that’s us and Canada exclusively tbh…

who’s stricter on stuff in this regard? It’s interesting to see all the different regulations and systems that define what can or can’t be shown to what group.

but my initial question still remains~~ why is slime rancher rated E10+ here and elsewhere is like the all ages rating?

I’m curious and don’t get it~~ dragged into an interest of video game and movie regulations just to answer one question, lol. Now I’ve got so many more~~

Who’s are the strictest? Or most lax? Surely they help, or do they aid more in censorship more than anything? How did the systems come about in the first place?

hope the game runs smoothly on the switch~~ picked up the European version off Amazon I think; but the switch isn’t region locked so that’s shouldn’t be a problem ~~ wonder if that one was the only physical version for the switch?

Here is some stuff about myself!

I have interests in plushies, video games, computers, retro video games and systems, lost media, retro hardware and collecting.

I have plushies, some retro games and systems (mostly Nintendo ones), a Nintendo Switch along with switch games both physical and digital I don't usually have switch online.

I usually play Minecraft both Bedrock and Java and sometimes ROBLOX but I don't support the corporation and I have a negative stance on it. I have played Regretevator, Be a wobbledog and Flavor Frenzy on there before.

I use Linux I currently use Debian 12 with KDE, I do have a laptop with Windows 11 to run Windows applications. They aren't the greatest hardware so they struggle sometimes running the games listed above.

I have played OneShot: World Machine Edition, a little bit of Rain World, Celeste, Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition, Wandersong, Terraria, Undertale, Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition and Half Life I have not completed any of these games and might not have gotten far in them yet! I have finished chapter 1 of Deltarune before though!

I have watched all the episodes of TADC (The Amazing Digital Circus on YouTube) and Murder Drones as of June 2024.

This is a fun cute game about collecting various slimes and selling their plorts (slime poo). It's a mix of managing your farm, exploration, and collecting resources. Every part of the game is very cute with a whimsical style and nice music.

My only problem is that parts of the game feel unfinished but overall it's still a fun time.

Dragon Age Inquisition: ?/10

It's a good game, very EA-coded, I found the lore and characters of the universe to be very fascinating and compelling; definitely playing the other games when I get access to an Xbox.

I didn't buy the dlc because I got a bit burnt out. for that reason, I won't give a overall rating until I do.

Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition: 7.4 / 10.

Well, It is relaxing and fun, it doesn't have the most substance obviously and it can get pretty laggy at certain points, but that's what happens when you're playing on the switch.

Looking back on it, it was relaxing, however, I don't find myself going back to it.

Etrian Odyssey I HD: 8.2 / 10

It doesn't have much of the familar quality of life features from the later games but the core enjoyable RPG experience is there, along with its signature difficulty.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen: 9.0 / 10

After spending 80+ hours on this game, I can see why it's such a dark horse of Capcom games. the depth of the combat is amazing once you consider its age.

I should add that this game is kinda janky, hardly any of the mechanics seem polished and the 'romance' system is the worst I've seen.

Despite some issues here and there. I still had a very entertaining playthrough.

Unpacking: 7.9 / 10

A cute game about unpacking, there isn't much to say about it lol. I like the ease of controls and the ""cozy"" vibes it had; it also crashed twice.

Yeah, so not much to say.

Celeste: 7.5 / 10

I don't have much positive or negative feelings on this Critically Acclaimed game.

The gamplay is simple and complex, the pixel graphics are pretty, the story is insightful but a little overrated. I didn't have fun playing so that means it just wasn't for me

Pokémon ScVi DLC: 8.1 / 10

It's way better than SWSH's DLC, which was kinda rough and basic; Teal Mask and Indigo Disk's additions to the base game felt more worthwhile and substantial, to the point where it could slightly justify the absurd price. (Spoiler: It doesn't.)

Putting aside ScVI's obvious issues as one always should when discussing these games, I loved the story and I kinda want to replay it again at some point, which is the best compliment I could give a game these days.

Bloodborne: 8.3 / 10

Like Celeste, Bloodborne is in that bracket of 'extremely beloved games in the internet community', unlike the former though, I actually thought this game was addicting and fast-paced.

It's not perfect though, I didn't, in particular, like how unclear the directions in the game were, not having a clear sense of what to do or where to go really confused me at times.

Ape Escape: 7.3 / 10

How do I feel about the game? Well, it shows its age but I can definitely see where it was innovative at. Unfortunately, the longer it went on, the more of a chore it was to play.

Top 5 Games That Interested Me in The Indie World Direct (8-11-21)

5.) Tetris Effect: Connected

As someone that still plays Tetris 99, Tetris Effect: Connected looks like something I’ll enjoy in both single and multiplayer modes. Also, this may be strange to say but the visuals I have seen in the gameplay look really nice. It has a soft and yet pixel style to it. Tetris Effect: Connected will premiere on the Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2021.

4.) Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is while set in the future, make you feel you’re in the 90’s. Its graphics reminds me of old dreamcast games and the gameplay look like it has a fun feel to it as well. From what the Indie World announcer guy said, this game is about you skating and graffitiing your way up to become the king of streets. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is set to come out in 2022 and it look like it is going to be a much watch on people’s lists.

3.) Boyfriend Dungeon

Boyfriend Dungeon is one of those games is always in the back of your mind because it’s concept sticks to you and you wonder would it work. Well, I thankfully don’t have wonder anymore as Boyfriend Dungeon is now out on Switch. The game is basically mixed between dungeon crawler and dating sim with your weapons being your dating options. I’m getting a bit of Soul Eater vibes from this and I know I’m going to be buying this.

2.) Axiom Verge 2

Now, I know this game was properly the biggest surprise to everyone watching the direct. I know I was genuine shocked. Axiom Verge 2 is a sequel to Axiom Verge: A 2015 indie game that won the hearts of gamers for its setting and gameplay. From the looks of the trailer, its look like an upgrade of the previous game. I know it is going to be a must buy for many gamers now that it is out and I just know it.

--Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon

As someone who is played and completed Shovel Knight three times, it is always great to see more Shovel Knight stuff. However, I’m not feeling the gameplay for this. So, I’m properly going to hold up on it for now.

1.) Eastward

Eastward is one of those games you can just look at and know what it is. I remember seeing this a few years ago, saying to myself that this look awesome. Now in present time, it still does. Eastward is about a miner and a girl journeying through a deadly post-apocalyptic land looking for answers on the girl’s identity, fighting monsters and meeting weird characters along the way. The storyline may have been done to death but I’m digging the pixel graphics and I love playing RPGs, so I’m going to be getting this.  Eastward comes out next month on September 16, 2021.

finally completed a request from viktor and got access to his lab and the slimeulation~~

idk which of the mini-games I'm best at especially cause I'm doing them all very slowly.

Ogdun's I tried and panicked cause the feral slimes everywhere

Mochi's is fun and I get lost trying to find the teleporter back....

viktor's is also fun sort of except when the tarr show up~~~ is the exit point that opens the one closest to you?

I'm doing them slowly and usually unfortunately get around 20 usually of what was asked....

I tried Ogdun's and only got 1 fruit~~~

I don't want to cause it would hurt the slimes, but they're fereal there so it doesn't matter, does it? creating tarr on purpose just to hopefully make it easier?

I panic in the wilds so easily...

also had mossaic plorts be 120 but going down so I bulk sold them... and can now hold 100 of an item~~~

idk if I should go for the final ranks of the 7Zee club thing, tho if I do I need to wait for prices to go back up cause I'm sure they've tanked cause I saw the arrow going down on my most expensive plorts and tanked the market~~~

I hope those prices will raise that high again soon~~~

what would it get me to sell all of the saber plorts I have? Is sticking them into the refinery worth it? or is it useless for them?
