Let’s hope Jinpachi can keep the lead. Out of my 30,000 votes, 20,000 went to Jinpachi. The rest were divided equally among Kansuke, Otani, Tadakatsu and Kiyohiro. It looks like I have a thing for the silent, stone-faced ninjas. And wacky warlords (*eyeballs* Tadakatsu). Yoshitsugu seems like the most normal one here. =D

I am quite certain that I am to assume that the boys in the “story” was supposed to be Kennyo himself. Maybe it’s not, but if it is, whoever wrote this had no clue about Kennyo’s background and spun up something completely fictive on the fly. 

I do not blame the writer for not knowing. Back when this story was originally written, somewhere in 2016, Kennyo’s Wikipedia was very sparse. There’s not much info even for the fights he led against Nobunaga, which were the more famous incidents. It’s reasonable that there was not a single word about his past written in it. There was still nothing noteworthy in it even all the way up to 2018 or so. The info is out there in Buddhist-related websites, but... well, I have said many times that Voltage’s writers tend to rely on Wikipedia. They are on the clock, there’s not really enough time to do research. 

Kennyo’s father had died young, the year of death is written in Wiki, so at best someone relying solely on Wiki can infer that he had to inherit the role of the chief abbot of Honganji at a very young age. Though, I’m not entirely certain if actually going in to math the ages was something the writer would be necessarily interested in. Kennyo is just a background character and a plot device in this route, after all.  

The historical Kennyo does not have a younger brother. He does have a younger sister. She was married to a monk from another temple, and is highly supportive of the resistance against the Oda. However, there is not much else written about her online. I can assume she lived a long life, since supposedly she kept backing the resistance under Kennyo’s son, even after Kennyo himself agreed to surrender and retired.

His life was pretty tragic all things considered. His father survived long enough to see him formally ordained as a monk, and then died the very next day. Honganji traditions usually stipulates that the new abbot perform the funeral rites of the previous one, so a 12 year old Kennyo was likely required to be the one doing his father’s rites fresh out of ordination.

His mother died only a few years later, so growing up he only had his grandmother as a guardian (Kennyo’s grandfather had died before Kennyo’s father did). And then in his early 20s, Honganji caught fire (no wars were mentioned, so presumably it was a complete accident) and he had to evacuate for a couple of years as the temple was being rebuilt. And then Nobunaga rode into town and trouble started brewing. 

Kennyo is kind of wasted in the SLBP universe. The Ikko-ikki were only very vaguely referenced for years during the older events, and I had assumed it was because they were planning to keep Kennyo a secret until later. But then even after Nobunaga’s Act 2 launched, they didn’t really utilize Kennyo as a character. The ikko still gets named every now and then, as well as Honganji, but not Kennyo himself/in person. 

He was just a weird monk who is portrayed as a scammer/charlatan, and he doesn’t like the Oda for reasons that were never explained. I can only assume he is written somewhat less-weirdly in the new Unification route because Wikipedia has FINALLY been updated with better info at the time of the writing. The NPC elections (Japanese app exclusive) and the one time he showed up in Nobunaga’s route predates the Wikipedia updates, so he was still very weird in those.

Theories from the void: This was the band(?) Which was the prize in the last election regardless NPC in Tenka to give them a MS, Yasumasa's band was kinda pink-fushia. Does that mean, if he ever has a MS -maybe in 10 years- they would set down that color for him? I like the colour, it's cold, but I thought it was more like red, but today I noticed the color isn't warm. Also, I saw somewhere someone posted his supposed Birth date, but I don't know if that was fanmade or voltage did. I swear seeking through Twitter in their official app was almost impossible to find it. And yes, I didn't find it. But if the dates were right, it would be on July 27th. Ramblings from a bunmom. I’m not sure if I’m sad or glad the ninja animal human forms aren’t here. If they were here, I’d know for sure who to vote for, but on the other hand I also want to vote for the ojisans so afhgdjghfhgjkd

It’s so weird, game-wise I actually don’t care about the ninja plotline but my top bae are from the Ninja stories ahahhahahahahahha

Hey Daeva! For SLBP's Rarest of the Rare contest, you wouldn't happen to know which bio goes with which character? Because on my app at least, they're uh, decidedly mismatched. Like Douzen is listed as a double wielding samurai/ninja hybrid, Yoshichi is called an avid academic with a curt way with words, and Kojirou is described as an older man known for his cool composure...

Oh, the messed up character intros are actually the game love interests’ description. And not only that, a bunch of characters have duplicate profiles too. Tsunamoto, Douzan, Katsuie, Smol Sasuke, and Toramatso all have the same copy paste “double wielding” profile

“Idolized for both his cunning mind and generous smile” is probably Hideyoshi. “Double wielding samurai Ninja hybrid” is I think Shima. “Your childhood friend with many secrets” is Kaede. “Wears his heart on the sleeve” is Inuchiyo. “Unmotivated but a big softie” is Saizo or Genya. “Gracious and loyal to a fault” is Akechi. “Older man” is probably Kojuro. “Avid Academic” is Masamune. “Solitary ninja” is Sakuya. “Not quite the ninja you expect ... muscular man” is Big Sasuke. “Snarky silver tongued merchant” is Kyoichiro. Not 100% sure but “tactician” might be Mitsunari. 

It’s better to just talk to Customer Service. The staff messed up, they need to fix it.

He would 100% a Hanzo voodoo doll in his room gacha if he has a proper route. You can't tell me otherwise.

I feel like there's a typo in this though. Or a part of the text had gone missing or whatever. There's a weirdly awkward comma in the middle of the sentence, and the wording makes no sense IMO (I reworded the sentence a bit to fit).

It could either be "Thinking of Hanzo's face when he has you to himself annoys me", but the sentence got deleted/erased midway, or Haku just trailed off himself. Otherwise it could also be that he meant "It's fun thinking of what Hanzo's expression would be like when he knew I have you to myself", but it's a typo or whatever.

Even though I’m just a lowly insect, I brazenly wanted to be with MC-san. Also, when another battle comes next time, I want to have a date with MC-san, even if I have to kill everyone else.  MC-san, would you become mine alone?
