HAPPY BIRTHDAY SLASH YOU SLUTTY MF!!!
I would talk about how amazing he is as a guitarist and his impact on music but that would take too long. Literally love him to death. That’s all I have to say.

Best dad in the world

You were helping Slash write a new song, he was gliding his fingers across his guitar, trying to play at a low volume while the kids were sleeping.
- That sounds good. - You said as your husband played a new riff.
- Yeah I think I can use that. - Slash said and jotted down some notes in his notebook.
You watched him silently so as not to disturb him, but the silence soon ended when the door opened and Cash and London ran into the room.
- Boys! - You exclaimed as the kids jumped into Slash's lap, who immediately placed his guitar on the floor next to him, directing his attention to his children.
- What? You guys slept for like five minutes? - Slash said laughing.
- I want to play, Dad! - London said, and Cash nodded frantically, sitting next to him.
- Me too. - Cash said raising his small hand to Slash.
You got up and went over to them, giving the kids a kiss on the forehead and a peck on Slash's lips, leaning in to his ear.
- Are you okay? - You asked just to make sure he didn't mind the boys in his studio room.
- We'll be fine, Mom. - He said, winking at you. - I have to teach these boys how to hold a guitar.
You smiled, touching Slash's curls in an affectionate gesture before leaving the room.
- I'll make you guys a snack. - You said and closed the door as you left, hearing the children's laughter as you walked towards the kitchen.
You found yourself thinking, as you cut into some bread, about how Slash was such a good dad to his kids, how he had gotten along with them from the moment they were born, they were obsessed with Slash too, and you still get surprised every now and then by how much they looked like their father.
As you assembled the mini sandwiches on a plate, you began to consider whether having another child with Slash would be a good idea, It wasn't the first time that idea had crossed your mind, and with each interaction Slash had with the children, whether it was playing, scolding, helping them eat, get dressed... your desire to get pregnant with him again increased.
- Yay! Mommy! - London and Cash shouted and ran to grab your legs when you entered the studio carrying their snacks and juice.
- Are my little boys hungry? - You asked, picking up Cash and ruffling London's hair before lightly squeezing his cheek.
You placed the snack on the small table in the center of the room and sat down next to Slash, unable to hide your bright and passionate gaze at him.
- What babe? - He asked, and you pressed your body closer to his, touching your thigh against his.
- I was thinking... - You started to say but were interrupted by London, touching your leg and calling you.
- Mom! Dad taught me how to play guitar! He said I can play in a band when I grow up a little bit! - He said excitedly, and you pretended to be shocked.
- No way, Daddy said that? - He nodded. - Then we have to buy you more instruments, right? - You said.
London nodded and then walked back to his brother's side, sitting on the floor eating his sandwich.
- I want to have a baby with you. - You said at once, looking straight into Slash's eyes, trying to decipher his reaction. - Another baby, I wanna get pregnant.
He looked surprised, and then incredibly happy, intertwining his hands in yours.
- Are you sure? - He asked, moving your hair and kissing your forehead.
- Absolutely certain. - You said. - You are the best dad in the world.
His hands touched your face, lightly cupping your cheeks, his cold rings touching your skin as you waited for his answer.
- Then I'll give you a baby. - He said, and then pressed his lips to yours.

Izzy Stradlin and Gilby Clarke performing on stage together at The Cathouse in 1986. Riki Rachtman is also pictured.

Above photos by David Plastik (Dave Plas)
Okay - I have to post this because it is so cool. I have @juliannas-wild-oats to thank for the first photo, as well as the cropped photos of Izzy. I have @mycollectionmylife to thank for the second photo that they just recently posted and I am now later adding to this post. They were originally posted by Dave Plastik on Facebook. However, he claims these photos were taken circa 1987 - not late 1986. (I'm going to double check 1987 concert dates though.) I personally feel like they were taken on December 23, 1986, but don't quote me. Actually - go ahead and quote me, because I've done the research and I'm fairly certain this is the date, lol.
I'm a big Izzy fan, but I also like Gilby Clarke. As you know, Gilby replaced Izzy when he left GNR. The cool thing about that, was that Izzy was one of the very first people Gilby met when he moved to L.A. - they were friends. So, Izzy was pleased they chose Gilby as his replacement. Gilby was the lead singer for Candy, then went on to join Kill for Thrills, and of course he later joined GNR, then Slash's Snakepit. He is not only a musician, but a producer.
But what is even cooler is that this is a photo of Izzy jamming with Gilby's band, Candy, probably in late 1986. According to the photographer, it was taken at The Cathouse. The first time I saw the picture, the description said it was taken at The Glamour on Dec. 31, 1986, and it was Izzy jamming with Jetboy. I noticed Gilby right away and then realized it was Candy. But Candy is not listed as being on the bill that night on the online set lists and concert pages.
After some investigation, I decided it was either taken on October 9th or 18th, 1986 at Reseda Country Club/Country Club of Reseda/Chuck Landis' Country Club - or at The Cathouse on December 23, 1986 - though Candy is not listed (anywhere I looked) as being on the ticket that night with GNR, Faster Pussycat, L.A. Jetboy, and L.A. Guns. However, the ticket/bill does list '& Special Guests'. So, I thought perhaps they actually were on the ticket, but just not listed in the records. Now I know this is in fact The Cathouse, and the sixth person on stage is Riki Rachtman.
I'm including a pic of Izzy hanging with Mickey Finn, Billy Rowe, and Timo Kaltio taken the same night. I just found a cool pic of Mickey Finn on stage with Izzy and Candy as well, but I cannot get into FB to download it right now. I will add it once I have it.
I just think this pic is extremely special in terms of GNR history, as well as Izzy and Gilby's history together. So, I just HAD to post it. Thanks @juliannas-wild-oats for posting those great pictures.
I'm including a photo taken almost 7 years later, of Gilby and Izzy, when Izzy came back to GNR when Gilby was injured. The date was either May 29th or 30th, 1993. (I'm pretty sure the 30th, but I'll double check.)
What's even cooler about this pic is that it was taken at a show in which both Gilby and Izzy performed on stage with GNR, Ronnie Wood, and Michael Monroe. Just seriously cool GNR history right there. Izzy performing with members of the two bands he referenced as being his influences in GNR interviews - two bands he loved. I'll go ahead and add the link to the performance. I'm adding another pic of Izzy with Gilby on March 10th, 1995 at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino opening in Las Vegas.
Izzy performed onstage with Gilby, Candy, and probably Mickey Finn in 1986, with Gilby, GNR, Ronnie Wood, and Michael Monroe in 1993, with Duff McKagan, Gilby, Matt Sorum, B.B. King, Bo Diddley and others at The Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas in March 1995 and the following month, in April 1995, with Gilby and Slash's Snakepit (I have a great pic of Izzy and Slash on stage during that performance, but not one with Izzy and Gilby.)
Here is a flyer/invite for the 1986 Live Like a Suicide Christmas Party at The Cathouse December 23, 1986, when Candy was probably the special guest, and Izzy performed on stage with them.

British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous, following the exploits of two middle-aged, substance-abusing women in the fashion industry, was an unexpected influence on the 1995 Slash's Snakepit record It's Five O'Clock Somewhere:
"We wrote this whole record to [Absolutely Fabulous]. That's all we watched." (Triple M Radio 1995)
"Kieth Richards used to be my hero, now it's Patsy." (Q Magazine, 1995)

If you wanna hear me rant about my experience at slashs serpent tour, go ahead. I feel like this is way too corny and cheesy to tell anyone else but those who wanna hear it
This was no doubt the best experience of my life. I went there thinking I was gonna see my idol, maybe cry a little bit. I waited about 2 hours for him to come on stage, and holy FUCK was it worth it. Everyone there was old, but so happy. I was happier. To say I was crying was an understatement, I was sobbing, hysterically. I didn’t really care if the people around me heard. I can’t describe the feeling, it was everything all at once. There’s a script from sauls book
“recognized my own creative voice filtered through those six strings, but it was also something else entirely. Notes and chords have become my second language and, more often than not, that vocabulary expresses what I feel when language fails me. The guitar is my conscience, too-whenever I've lost my way, it's brought me back to center; whenever I forget, it reminds me why l'm here.”
Knowing that slashs stepdaughter recently passed, it’s been a miracle that he’s still willing to preform and put on such a good show. In his guitar solos, you could really hear the sorrow through his playing. It was the most intimate, emotional experience iv ever had, even though he’ll never know what that moment meant to me. It felt like he was speaking directly to me, a language that you can understand if you only look past it just being a “cool guitar solo”. At the end, slash played on an electric piano and holy FUCK, it still had the same emotion that played through his guitar. Of course, I was in tears listening to it. It was the end of the concert and everyone was out of their seats. Of course, I ran up to the front row and watched before a security guard gently lead me back just out the front row. what I’m pissed about; after he finished the show and was walking off, he threw a bunch of picks and shit into the crowd. I was still in belief that I wasn’t allowed in the front row, but once I realized I could’ve gone up a little bit it was too late, didn’t catch anything. Still, seeing him jump around on stage and play so lively seriously impressed me. If I was in his position, I probably wouldn’t leave the house for weeks. Much less be on tour…
while he was on stage I thought about the traumatic experiences he wrote in his book, thought about the all the interviews he was in and every sad/weird story iv heard of him and realized that all this history was infront of me not even 40 meters away. The experience was surreal: sounded how heaven felt. while everyone was walking away from the venue, they decided to play “we’ll meet again.” Can you guess what I did? Cry. I felt like such a baby tonight lmao, never cried that much in my life
anyways, the concert was fuckin amazing and exceeded my already disgustingly high bar for concerts.
