price stood at the center of the face-off circle, his stick resting on his knees as he sized up his opponent. it was the third period and the score was tied 2-2. price’s team was on the power play after the visiting team had received a two minute minor for slashing. figured, he thought. they’d been playing dirty all night; the ref just finally saw fit to call them on it. it was two minutes where they had the upper hand, two minutes to take advantage of their strength in numbers. he adjusted his stick in his grip, looking over his shoulder to make sure gaz and soap were in position before turning his attention back to the face off. he inhaled, and on the exhale, the sound of rubber smacking the ice hit his ears.
price gained control, taking the puck down the ice into the opposing team’s zone. he glanced to his left, meeting soap’s eyes before making a pass. soap received it, the puck smacking off his stick as he took up position on his side of the ice. a defenseman skated towards him, poised to try for a steal. but soap was ready. he made quick eye contact with gaz, sending the puck sliding his way. gaz took advantage of the fact that no one was on his ass, taking it and skating ever closer to the opposing goal. price was lined up, ready to go. it was the perfect position for a slapshot straight over the goal line. the goalie wasn’t watching his right flank, still preoccupied with gaz skating towards him. perfect. gaz made the pass, simon smacked the opposing defenseman into the boards to stop his approach, and price swung. the puck slid over the line before the goalie even knew what happened, setting the buzzer blaring.
through it all, you were watching in the stands. their coordination on the ice was enough to show you why they were first line, why laswell trusted them more than anyone else to get the game started on the right foot and to end it just as smoothly. you were one of the first on your feet after the goal, shouting and clapping. soap skated past price, giving him a congratulatory knock on the helmet as gaz held up his glove for a fist bump. simon gave price a thump on the back, skating behind him as they returned to the bench. “good shot, cap,” he shouted over the music, stepping off the ice as the second line stepped in to relieve them.
you smiled and waved as soap turned to meet your eyes. you’d taken to sitting right behind the bench, making your presence known to them rather than blending into the crowd like you’d done before. soap winked before nudging kyle, who tapped simon’s helmet, who elbowed price. soon, all four sets of eyes were on you. you blushed under the weight of their collective gazes, but managed to collect yourself enough to give them two thumbs up. price chuckled, nodding his head in thanks at your gesture. soap tugged his helmet off, the sweat making the longer strands of his mohawk stick to his forehead. “come out with us after tha game!” he called, his voice slightly muffled by the plexiglass. you didn’t even hesitate. “yeah, ‘course i will!”
it was a handy victory after that, simon managing to eke out a goal of his own before the game was over. this win would move them up in the league rankings, signal to everyone else that they’re a force to be reckoned with. with an ever-rotating roster of fresh blood, rebuilding years were bound to happen. but now they were on the rebound, and it felt better than any vice they indulged in. 
that wasn’t going to stop them tonight, though. the four of them stepped out of the locker room to find you waiting, your coat draped over your arms. your eyes were glued on your phone, a familiar crutch to pass the time. the moment you heard soap and gaz’s jovial chatter, your head snapped up, meeting the eyes of your victorious men. you flashed them a smile and a little wave, closing the distance between all of you. “that was a really good game tonight,” you said sincerely, your eyes flicking between the four of them. it wasn’t just a win for one of them, it was a win for all of them. you wanted to make sure they all felt properly congratulated.
“thanks, dove,” price replied, a smile of his own threatening to show through. usually, his mind was racing with thoughts of how they could improve, what they could’ve done better. but not tonight. tonight was for celebrating, and he wasn’t going to let his overactive mind get in the way of that. gaz chimed in, putting his hand on price’s shoulder. “well, it helped havin’ our good luck charm in the stands. didn’t it, cap?” his pointed glance settled on you as price chuckled, your cheeks flushing a pretty shade of pink. their good luck charm. how about that? “good point, kyle,” price said. the weight of their eyes boring into you threatened to overwhelm you, like the tide overtaking the shore.
thankfully, johnny’s scottish brogue broke the tension. “did’ja see my assist in the second period, bonnie?” he asked, shouldering past gaz to be closer to you. you couldn’t help but laugh a little, nodding at him as you clutched your coat a little closer to your body. “yeah, i did,” you reply. you also hadn’t missed the way he skated with more gusto after that, knowing that you’d seen him. “it was impressive. you all work so well together out there.” simon finally made his presence known, shifting on his feet beside price. “yeah, we’ve worked really hard to get ourselves there,” he said, sounding proud of the progress they'd made as a team. you notice kyle and johnny exchange a glance, but you can’t quite read it. there’s something there under the surface, something that goes beyond the game.
before you can spare it a second thought, price places his hand on your shoulder, guiding you out the doors of the ice rink. “c’mon, dove. we’ll take my truck.”
it’s around your third mixed drink that you start to get a little more comfortable.
they’ve paid for the last two rounds for you, indulging whatever fruity concoction you find yourself craving. they took you to the one good bar for miles where the air was free of stale cigarette smoke and depression. the five of them weren’t the rowdiest table by far, but they were holding their own. the boys carried on their own conversations in the background, chattering loudly about the game. as you sip at your vodka cranberry, your attention is on kyle’s phone screen as he swipes through pictures of his family. “and tha’s my brother, steven. he’s got a wife and kid. haven’t seen ‘im in a while, they live kinda far.” soap nudges him, causing his phone to nearly tumble into his pint of guinness. “don’ bore the poor lass,” he says, his words already starting to slur a little. johnny was drinking whiskey, which hit a little harder than the beers that his teammates were nursing. no wonder he was on his way to being three sheets to the wind.
you blush and shake your head, giving kyle a reassuring glance. “it’s not boring, i promise. i like getting to know you all. it’s what friends do, right?” friends. you hadn’t stopped to think about it before, but you supposed you’d fully entered friend territory with all of them. you’d come to watch them play multiple times now, and they’d come and watched you skate. not only that, they’d stayed for both your programs and stuck around when the final rankings were posted. mere acquaintances didn’t do that. 
your words seemed to strike some chord in each of them as the hum of their side conversations abruptly stopped. you caught price smirk over the rim of his glass as he took a swig of his drink, his posture confident with his shoulders back and chest forward. johnny looked at you like you’d hung the moon and stars just for him, but only for a moment. kyle’s eyes widened almost imperceptibly, like he hadn’t expected you to perceive them as friends. and simon, as usual, was hard to read, but you were getting there. there was a tightness in his expression that spelled unease to you. you faltered, opening your mouth to backtrack before price waved a hand to cut you off.
“nah, the bird’s right, johnny. guess we should know some things about each other if we’re gonna be friends.” his smirk remained, his eyes now fixed on you. maybe it was the alcohol talking, but you could swear you saw a glint of hunger in his eyes. you swallowed, desperate to ignore the electric thrill that struck your core. “why don’t you start us off, love? we wanna know more ‘bout ya,” he said, leaning back against the booth seating and staring you down expectantly. you clear your throat and take another long drink from your glass. you’d need some liquid courage for all this.
“well, i’ve been skating since i was little. i’ve loved it for as long as i can remember.” the memories brought a smile to your face. you recalled sitting in front of the television set, cross-legged as you watched the figure skaters dance on the ice in your ballerina dress. your dad sat next to you, telling you that that could be you someday. you certainly hadn’t competed in any olympics, but you were proud of the level you’d achieved. johnny chuckled, his hand coming to rest on your thigh. it sent a bloom of warmth through you and your cheeks flushed crimson. “somethin’ besides the ice, bonnie,” he said playfully. “we wanna know you, not the skater.”
you composed yourself quickly after being startled at his touch, settling into the casual display of affection. glances were once again exchanged, but this time, it was price and simon. “umm…my favorite color’s green,” you said, looking between johnny and kyle for approval, to see if this was what they wanted. when you got a nod in reply, you decided to continue. you told them about your favorite foods, family vacations, the artists that were on heavy rotation in your car radio. they seemed to hang on your every word, letting the aura of you seep into their bones so they’d never forget it.
the more you drank, the more you talked. so price kept the drinks flowing.
kyle drove you home in price’s truck, your swaying body sandwiched between ghost and soap. johnny had an arm around your shoulders to keep you steady and simon had his hand on your arm for comfort. you’d been drunker in your life, but you certainly had a good thing going. all this contact from attractive men was only fueling the fire, butterflies stirring in your belly that weren’t born of alcohol. you muttered things you knew you wouldn't remember in the morning, something about how warm their bodies were and how good they looked in their pads and gear. they were gentlemen, of course. their touches remained innocent as they walked you to your door and made sure you got in safely, staying until they heard the lock click. they had to be satisfied that you were secure for the night.
as the four of them piled back in the truck and headed back down the road, it was simon who broke the silence first. “we gotta have her, yeah?” he said, his voice a rumble that harmonized with the engine. kyle and johnny didn’t respond, looking to their captain for a response. ultimately, he made the final call. price hummed, his head falling back against the headrest of the passenger seat.
“yeah, think we do.”

vil is one of the only characters in game that treats yuu with respect, and as an equal.
EXACTLYLY. honestly it never ever sits right with me whenever yuu BREAKS THEIR BACK trying to help others (especially because barely anyone is doing barely anything to help them. LET THIS BITCH GO HOME!!!!) for them to just? barely acknowledge it? casually brush it off? the scene in book 3 where the tweels r like wanna help out? you can switch with these guys and ace is like YES double all of my current suffering and pass it onto them /ref all of the students complaining about losing their signature spells when yuu has NO magic at all to protect themselves with.. let’s be serious please. maybe im being a little dramatic! but thats literally my favorite character you are talking about get their name out of your mouth.
vil is literally the only other character who plays a similar role in the story.
... cause chars like trey and lilia are almost there, but distinctly different in their roles, while vil is THE mother.
THIS!! !! !!! !!!!! lillia is more of the father trope and trey is more of a big brother i’d say. they aren’t nurturing in the same way vil is. maybe it’s the ‘nagging’ slash instructing aspect of how vil interacts with people. i don’t even know how to put it into words but ur right vil is so mom. like. i dont know.. it’s probably his relationship with epel (and even the other first years?) that makes me associate him with being motherly but he’s just so. nurturing. so many moms in the media that i’ve (recently) consumed were teaching their daughters to be quiet and respectful as to not get punished/essentially outcasted socially. of course that’s not really what vil is doing with epel but. ugh. read my mind!!! ull understand then trust. the ONLY other character that sorta makes me feel the same way is jamil. illove him so dearly but i know. little to nothing major about his character aside from his relationship with kalim. yuu and grim. vil and epel. jamil and kalim. they should start a we dont get paid (enough) for this bullshit club

I am such a yuu defender idc. LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!! it's why rollo is still such a fave of mine, he's like one of the only sane people. looks at yuu and is like jesus christ are you fucking okay.
and yes literally vil is just. I think the big difference is that he actually kinda likes being in charge? more so than yuu. he's a natural leader while they were literally manipulated and blackmailed into their position (I WILL SAY THAT I do think vil feels pressured to be a leader because of how he was outcasted/made out to seem mean and scary by his peers so he just kinda Filled That Role... but also I definitely do not see him as someone who'd enjoy following rather than leading. his own character VERY MUCH parallels yuu's in so many ways)
jamil is definitely different tho. he was also forced into his position as a caretaker but he doesn't have a parental vibe to him. tbh I couldn't tell u what it is but he's got his own thing going on (and he DOES parallel yuu in a way, I wish he was closer to them because there's potential but he's really Not)
BUT YEAH I get you. I feel like this is a weird thing to say but yuu feels like their own character to me 😭 like I have my own yuusona but yuu themselves is a little guy to me

"Virion" Vyncent Sol up first!! also can we talk about how his hero name is straight up just his name. lol. lmao even.
I HAD THE MOST PLAN FOR VYNCENT GOING IN TBH I wanted something similiar to the origami outfit while still staying reminiscent of his old outfit

I knew I wanted the jacket and I went with the turtleneck so it was the same as Jason's outfit. also Jason has really cool glove sleeve things I thought that was so fucking cool guys. and vyncent is generally from an actual outfit standpoint like... really simplistic? so just ourple pants and boots seemed most logical. I liked the mask and it was in both of his old designs so I decided to stick with it.
and then of course. the belts. there are ten total belts on his outfit jot including the two that would come with the sheath LMAO. plus the two pd colored belts on his boots!! I decided while drawing I wanted them all to have something in eachothers colors cause thats really cute.
i MUCHHH prefer the shorter jacket because of how it shows off the outfit and is reminiscent of his s2 post fauna design . . .
generally had the most idea going into his so there was very little in ways of additional sketching

"Wisperer" William Wisp!!! El wiwi himself. OKAY SO AS YOU MAY NOTICE. THIS IS DIFFERENT THAN THE DESIGN I ORIGINALLY POSTED. I had Not been happy with that one because it felt too cluttered and a little out of character so I ended up redesigning his jacket and redrawing the refs.
WILLIAMS OUTFIT WAS REALLY FUN THO I ended up going with a gas mask like he had in the greyscale arc, hoodie (which will get its own paragraph), cargo pants!! for his cargo and gadgets and gizmos, and then. because it's me and he's william. platformish boots laced with the orlther pds colors.
the hoodie was the thing I had changed in the new design because the old design wasn't william wisp enough for me yknow

i wnjoyed the outfit and it looked really need but it was much more complicated than his original hero suit and didn't really seem like smthn he'd design and wear.
i really liked the wisp belt and wanted to keep that wisp motif, which is why I ended up putting the flames on his sleeves! it looks cool as hell and keeps w the flame designs. IM ALSO SUPER ATTACHED TO THE WISPERER W THAT WAS ON HIS ORIGINAL HERO DESIGN.... so the hoodie has a stylized w.

I haven't had this exact experience, of course, but as someone who uses a large vocabulary at the table, I have been on the receiving end of similar confusion. Rather than just make mine a gazebo, I took inspiration from the AD&D house hunter mimic.]
Dread Domicile CR 16 NE Aberration What appeared to be a gazebo reveals itself as a monster, its entrance growing a fanged maw and lashing tentacles growing around its perimeter. It has leering, dreadful eyes.
A dread domicile is a giant variant of mimic, capable of disguising itself as a whole building. Cottages, barns, sheds and gazebos are common choices for camouflage, and the dread domicile can enhance the appearance with lights, props, and even the sounds of conversation, farm animals or music. Unlike ordinary mimics, dread domiciles are typically evil—they actively hunt and eat sapient prey above all others. A number of them live in shantytowns or other rundown urban neighborhoods, where their victims won’t go missed.
Dread domiciles are slow, so they use ambush to hunt. They can feel vibrations in the ground, and so usually close their eyes until a creature has actually touched it. Their gaze causes creatures to cower in fear, so any creature that is not glued in place is usually unable to assist its allies. Glued prey is then transferred to the domicile’s mouth and swallowed whole, sequestered in a little pocket that acts as a stomach. A dread domicile will swallow multiple creatures if it can, and rapidly reshapes itself to accommodate new victims if a creature cuts its way out. Because of their low speed, a dread domicile is more likely to surrender and try to negotiate for its life than it is to flee. They collect plenty of treasure, which they use as both bait and bribes.
Variant Dread Domicile A dread vessel is an aquatic version of a dread domicile. It masquerades as a small ship, or occasionally as a raft, floating driftwood or even a whale carcass. A dread vessel is a dread domicile with the aquatic subtype, amphibious special quality, a land speed of 10 feet and a swim speed of 40 feet. A dread vessel is still a CR 16 creature.

Opponents so grappled cannot get free while the dreadful domicile is alive without removing the adhesive first, or if the dread domicile chooses. A weapon that strikes an adhesive-coated dreadful domicile is stuck fast unless the wielder succeeds on a DC 30 Reflex save. A successful DC 26 Strength check is needed to pry off a stuck weapon. A dread domicile can transfer a creature glued to itself in this way into its mouth with an action to maintain the grapple. Strong alcohol or universal solvent dissolves the adhesive, but the dread domicile can still grapple normally. A dreadful domicile can dissolve its adhesive at will, and the substance breaks down 5 rounds after the creature dies. The save DC is Strength-based, and the Strength check DC suffers a -4 racial penalty. Gaze (Su) Range 30 ft.; save Will DC 24; effect cower in fear 1d4 rounds. This is a fear effect, and the save DC is Charisma based. Mimic Building (Ex) A dread domicile gains a +20 racial bonus on any Disguise checks to disguise itself as a building of Gargantuan size. It can change its color and texture, and even create open spaces or lights (which radiate light up to that of a torch). Disguise is always a class skill for dread domiciles. Swallow Whole (Ex) A dread domicile reshapes itself to have a separate stomach chamber for each creature it swallows.A creature that cuts itself out of a dread domicile has a 25% chance to cut into another chamber and thus remain swallowed. A dread domicile can use its swallow whole ability even if a creature cuts its way out.

Cystbearer (Monster)

(So I ended up statting up a LOT of Phyrexian monsters back before their arc reached its climax. I'll be posting them under #phyrexia project, with the hope that once I'm done you'll have a robust monster list for a Phyrexian invasion campaign.
My phyrexia is mostly a blend of old Phyrexia and Phyrexia as depicted in Scars of Mirrodin block, as that's how I was first introduced to them. We'll be seeing a lot more of them as this blog continues. I haven't statted up the Praetors yet, but I'm imagining them as CR21-25 range monsters who grant divine spells and have Mythic ranks.
Cystbearers are, to me, an iconic creature of Scars of Mirrodin, being decently costed common infect creatures with no other ability. They also look nasty as hell, in a good way.)
CR4 NE Large Aberration
Cystbearers are early vanguards of Phyrexian invasion, virulent and resilient beings grown in massive Phyrexian breeding pools. They are remarkably fast to grow, with a new cystbear going from single celled germ to fully developed Phyrexian beast in the course of about a week in the noxious pools. They are then released into the world, typically with orders to kill and infect indiscriminately- orders they perform with gusto.
Cystbearers have barely enough intelligence for sadism and an understanding of the harm they're causing. For all intents and purposes, a cystbearer acts more like an unusually aggressive animal, rather than an intelligent being who can formulate plans in combat or be negotiated with.
A large-mouthed beast the size of a bear shambles forward, its back covered in tubular cysts leaking green fluid.

What/who inspired you to make this? ⯌ The original book itself, Overly Sarcastic Productions' video covering aforementioned book introduced my fondness for the franchise and whatnot. inspiring me to read the book and continue imagining little things tweaked around until it was its own thing. and of course The Glass Scientists inspired some things here and there with the characters along with me just generally adoring the series and taking mental notes of things here and there. like picking up tiny rocks from a large pond, its wonderful. I highly encourage you check out all three of these!
When does this comic update? ⯌ Every Tuesday and Thursday. it may vary accidentally due to IRL complications (mainly school) but I will try to stick to schedule
What do you use to make the comic? ⯌ I use IBISpaintX for all my drawing, though I script the comic in discord...yes discord not Google docs. its more convenient and just sort of at home for me to use an empty discord GC with just myself inside- I don't know.

I know it’s been a while but welcome back to me telling you guys about the tiny details I’ve put into one of my little art pieces. Because if I don’t tell you about it, then who will?

So first let’s go through some common unifiers.

We have cute little hearts with their life number on it and a bonus blue coloring to say when a life is lost. 
Tango, Skizz, and Etho’s hearts show this loss in different ways..Skizz has his with colored stiches going through and a red slash, and so does Etho(plus his weeb headband getting a little missing nin slash of death) his; But,Tango’s has a little red slash but no stiches. 
A little divide in the group there ;).
Of course what is not a divide is their roses, Impulse and Bdubs of course having matching pure red, while Etho, Skizz, and Tango all have blue streaks to mimic Team BEST colors because we will never be over that tragic boy band.
Speaking of tragedy,
Let’s get into Tango’s little details

Now Mr. Tek here was a fun time to give a little wedding flare too.
He is of course rocking that cowboy goth, big hat, big heart belt buckle big boots, but of course I still wanted to stay true to the original skin, such as keeping his hands bare, and white highlights for that skin tone that pops up above the wrist area of the mc skin.
He’s also propping his shield which the banner seems to be another fabric just nailed into it.
Of course you where most likely not looking at those things when it came to Tango’s design. Let’s talk about the Elephant in the room.
Warden! Tango

Warden Tango just felt more right than all the blazeborn stuff to me. Not that blazeborn Tango isn’t cool but to help keep designs varied I think I’ll make Tango have different creature traits in different seasons to reflect and fit the theming.
And why shouldn’t Rancher’ Revenge have a Warden dad?
Now there are somethings to note about this.
Most people draw the Warden with these antlers and horns for the top of it’s head, heck even the concept art I was using for color uses those terms, however I don’t really see them as that. 
Instead I see them as tendrils more like antenna or the tendrils on top of a Shulk Sensor. Heck you can see a version of a Beta Warden with that design. Of course then I ran into the problem of how to get it to be as thick as they are. My answer was having many.
Now of course I wanted the bones to match the red that I wanted to use for tango, so I did the normal person thing by color shifting the whole picture to ref and pinkish colors and looking at the blue it gave. Of course you can still see the regular Warden bones on his Jacket.
This blue would also be the bases for his nails, and blush as well.
And lastly I want to talk about the souls.
The souls are interpreted as a little design on the stomach and wrists of his shirt as well as on his boots. A little closer look at the shirt will also see bands and a little design to act as the “teeth” on a Warden’s arm as well. Besides the boots, all of the souls glow.
One last thing on Tango’s design before we move on.

His forehead has a large scar on his fore head. This is a little nod to how Tango first died in the Life series, ever. 3rd lifers get a little treat.
So do Team Ranchers as you can se his golden hair has a couple of muted dirty blonde in it. That same color can be found on a feather attached to his belt and the inside color of a blue hardcore heart bolo. 
This of course connects him to his rancher, no matter how far apart they get.
Now on to Skizzleman.

I did all 6 of his wings and it killed me, but dang does it look good!
To counter Impulse’s little demon theming he of course has angel theming, this is nothing new but I wanted my little take on it with big wings that glow his blue and have eyes on the feathers in his eye’s blue. 
I am just unbelievably happy with how this turned out.
Also being an angelic being I gave him an extra finger, that now your guy’s problem actually.

He also has a bunch of other details.
First let’s get out my biggest regret; His arms don’t have that 3rd Life Purple in them. I managed to include the eyes, but not the arms. Truly this is the miss opportunity of a life time. Hindsight on a picture is a bitch.
Another thing that is awful Hindsight is that blank belt buckle.
But hey at least I got his final Last Life death but Arrow scar. Also Skizz has a couple explosion deaths so of course that’s what I a going to turn his skin’s arm makes into.
I also managed to refence the light red lettering of BEST into his head as well. My man cuts and dye’s his hair. 
He’s also has a golden headpiece that looks like a halo!
Also kinda went ham on the Sunflowers, idk why but he one for every BEST member.
Now onto the last details of this boy

This man coordinated with his best buddy on outfits.
Please believe me when I say Impulse is wearing blue socks you can’t see to match their matching shoes and pocket embellishments.

Now first off let’s get the obvious out of the way: I miss Boatem.
Now let’s talk about the fun stuff like his golden apple key chain and his sharp claws and sharp lips.
Or how his little demon horns and tails have floating little guys that give that “i” look to them, with the fade in yellow.
And of course the most cute thing: Him and Impulse share colors in the same area where their forehead touches. Really just wanted to give that sweet vibes they give off.

Of course that’s not the only thing they share.
Two Rings chained together, one a clock the other copper. Matching compass watches to find the other and of course, compass and clock belt buckle with belt colors of the other man’s waist coat. 
The Compass thing is one of those design details I wish I did differently by making compasses an Imp and Skizz thing to imply... something idk it’s up to you guys on that.
Now onto the little guy

This man is so skrunkly. What a Youtube
He has the moss corset coat, the clock tie pin, eyes bruised to hell and back, burns on the back of his neck from a game during the first season, and a smug look on his face despite the sword to his neck, you know the usual stuff!
Also his coat is more in line with the white sample from his skin’s shirt while the actually shirt’s white came from his teeth.
Very nervous about that hair line fade but was really happy with the end products, same with the bruise and beard texturing. Naturally white beard hair does not play nice with coloring!

Lastly let’s go over Etho boy over here.
He is of course in full weeb attire, but after being informed he was not allowed to cosplay Canadian Jonin Kakashi Hatake to the wedding, he instead decided to cosplays Wedding arc Jonin Kakashi Hatake but the outfit looks more snazy.
This includes his leaf belt and sleeve patch as well as a mirror patch of a head course heard. He’s wearing a proper archer glove but the cosplay rears it’s head again with heart hand plates.
And of course Socks with Sandals to top this whole outfit off. If you look closely you can also see the dark green “E” pattern to match the one on his skin’s chest. With of course the “Zipper” color being moved to the bottom layer fabrics. 
His sandal color is also his belt color.
Also he has tiny little claws and pointy ears. Because I waited to make him vaguely not human and hadn’t fell in love with Mimicking Mocking Raven Etho like I now have. His not red eye matched his life color, while his red one keeps it’s blood and a cool heart shape.
Then of course he does have a bunch of burn and exposition scars, as well as an arrow scar covered up his mask.
Lastly; he shares some green and brow in his hair from his significant annoyance. Truly the best Murder Bois!

Pathfinder 2E to 1E Conversion: Sweet Hag
This creature was relatively easy for me to convert, mechanically speaking. But as for its flavour text (no pun intended, of course), it was a whole other matter. The Sweet Hag involves a lot of potentially triggering material, for which I have given warnings below. I hope this new conversion doesn't become too shocking.

This matronly and clearly overweight woman sports a pleasant smile, and her yellowish skin somewhat resembles melting taffy. She is dressed in a cook’s garb.

Betraying Touch (Su) By touching a creature that currently does not see her as a threat, a sweet hag can subject that creature to her soporific touch ability, imposing a -4 circumstance penalty to the victim's saving throw. The creature does not become aware that the hag has used this ability on them unless they succeed at a Sense Motive check opposed by the hag's Bluff check.
Child-Scent (Ex) A sweet hag has the scent ability, but only with respect to humanoid children.
Poisoned Candy (Su) The sweet hag can cast one of the following spell-like abilities on a piece of food that she has prepared, typically a sweet treat: charm person, hideous laughter, reduce person or sleep. This does not count against the number of times per day the spell-like ability can be used. The first creature that eats the food is affected by the spell, and takes a –4 circumstance penalty to their saving throw against that effect. A sweet hag may only use this ability on food that she has prepared herself - food created via the create food and water spell-like ability may not be altered in this way.
Soporific Touch (Su) A creature that takes damage from a sweet hag's slam attack also suffers 1d4 point of Strength damage (Fortitude DC 17 negates). A victim reduced to 0 Strength falls into a deep slumber, dreaming of eating delicious sweets, until it has regained at least 1 point of Strength. This is a sleep effect. The save DC is Charisma based.
A sweet hag is a vile predator of children that hides behind a cheerful and caring front to lure her victims to an horrific fate. Using their magic to alter their appearence to that of harmless old ladies or matronly bakers, they entice children with the promise of delicious sweets, with a distinct preference for the poor, the homeless, the abused and, in general, all those children who are unlikely to be missed. A sweet hag offers its prospective victims not just delicious food, but also a facade of kindness and generosity. However, as soon as her victim has come to trust her, the sweet hag either enslaves them or puts them to sleep in order to be butchered and eaten. Some sweet hags have been known to put their young prisoners into cages and force-feed them to fatten them up, all in order to enjoy a tastier meal later.
All sweet hags are excellent cooks - they have to be, in order for their trap to work. They have the unique ability to mix some harmful spells into the food they prepare, in order to incapacitate their prey or anyone that might come to investigate on her. While they don't have much in terms of fighting skills, their touch can sap strength from their victims, until they fall into a blissful sleep populated with dreams of delicious food. A sweet hag's touch is even more dangerous to those who are unaware of her true colors, putting them to sleep with most of them not realizing why they are getting weaker by the minute. In any event, sweet hags are typically cowards, and will turn invisible and flee as soon as they suspect they're facing actual danger.
Sweet hags usually dwell in houses not too far away from cities and villages, in the ideal position to draw children in, but still far enough not to raise suspicion. While they are omnivorous, they particularly relish the taste of children, and consider gnomes to be a real delicacy. Sweet hags despise elves, which probably has to do with elves not being affected by their sleep-inducing magics. While a sweet hag will murder an elf in order to keep her cover or out of spite, she never eats one unless it is severely famished.
Sweet hags rarely join covens, but when they do, the coven adds grove of respite and neutralize poison to their spell list.

Weaving is a complex process, one that requires a lot of specialized knowledge. So, logically, any clockwork device designed with the ability to work fabric in any way is by necessity large and complex. Non-animated looms are massive, and adding the gears and equipment to automate them would necessarily make them larger, right?
Well, some genius proved that wasn't necessary. The clockwork weaving spider is tiny, smaller than a cat, but can be programmed to perform all kinds of fibre crafting. They can work on looms, sew, knit, darn, hem, and craft outfits. Four of their ten legs are designed for work; two guide thread on a loom, one has a needle built into it, and the last has a small blade for trimming cloth and threads. While they're not the fastest or greatest workers, their programming is limited due to their size, they are exceptionally helpful for someone doing that kind of work. And yet they're completely inaccessible to anyone who would benefit from them most, as the incredible precision needed for their creation prices them above the range of all but the wealthiest individuals. As with so many other clockworks, they're mostly a toy for the rich. Noble households can buy one or several to replace much of their staff, and extremely well off clothiers can do the same. The weaving spider replaces poor workers, rather than making the lives of the lower class better.
And they could probably be even better crafters, if not for the fact that a portion of their incredibly limited programming gears are set up to allow combat. Whether for protection of the household, or protection of the design of the weaving spider itself, they're "taught" how to fight. This doesn't make them very powerful combatants, almost seeming to be a waste of space and potential, as most competent combatants will crush it in moments, but against untrained foes or ones caught off guard one can prove a serious threat. They're even equipped with a small amount of poison that can be applied to its needle shuttle, which is then launched at an enemy to paralyze it and leave it vulnerable to that sharp trimming blade. Some nobility take advantage of this more fully, using these small clockworks as assassins hidden in plain sight. Of course they would.

au "fun" fact since im working on his ref sheet rn and this will come up on it: Dave, being a reptile cryptid of some kind, has some resemblance to the A./u R/.a from F / F 1 / 4. (spacing out and fucking up the names so this post won't be able to be searched for hopefully. Just remove the spaces, periods, and slashes) BEFORE his first springlock accident. He also had more similarities to William from this AU than he does now despite William being a regular human and Dave being a cryptid.
The main differences being:
His whole body is covered in scales, there are just some patches of thicker scales that act as a sort of natural armor.
His pupils are slits, like actual lizards. Though the colors are different.
He does not have a tail or horns.
Before his first death and Henry experimenting on him, his neck didn't stretch, and his body's scales helped him survive. Buuuuuut after it...
Henry fucked up his neck drastically just to see what could be done with it. As a result, Dave could stretch his neck across a room but could no longer rest his head normally. This is the main reason why Dave is a bit shorter when he's alive than when he's dead.
2. He surgically removed ALL of the thicker patches of scales on Dave's body, leaving him (even more) scarred and easier to damage. (Hence why he's such a glass cannon in a fight, this trait carried over to the flipside because it was so damaging like literally everything else Henry's done.)
3. Of course, like canon DSAF, most of Dave's organs have been removed along with parts of his brain. Including his heart.
4. Dave is blind in his left eye due to Henry once again. It's hard to tell he's blind in it due to the lights in his eyes due to him being dead.
It's worth noting that William has no idea what exactly Henry did in the past. Just that he's a murderer like himself. But even if he did, he doesn't really have a choice when it comes to working with him considering that there's 4 people currently trapped in the void and William just has to deal with this.

Fortune Eater

[I’m a big fan of composite undead; the caller in darkness was my favorite psionic monster of the 3.x era, and I have written a few myself (like the recent yānguĭ . So of course the fortune eater stood out to me. It, like the binumir, comes with plot hooks baked right in, and is an undead creature well worth having a conversation with (even if it really really wants you dead).]
Fortune Eater CR 7 CE Undead (incorporeal) This swirling mass appears to be multiple humanoid creatures, each of them warped and faded but carrying weapons and wearing armor.
A fortune eater represents the deaths of unlucky adventurers. When multiple heroes perish in short order, their spirits may become mired in the Material Plane and resolve as a fortune eater. These creatures are bound to existence by envy, and they obsessively stalk other adventurers in order to ruin their chances of glory. Fortune eaters tend to stake out places where adventurers might meet (taverns are a favorite), then stalk the heroes until an inopportune moment to appear and encompass them in their unluck auras. Others have a co-dependent relationship with some manner of powerful monster, helping it defeat all comers for little other reason than spite and jealousy.
Anyone near a fortune eater risks having their luck abandon them, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Worse, a fortune eater becomes luckier itself when it has victims of unluck, allowing it miraculous escapes from danger and lucky shots. The fortune eater can attack with multiple weapons at once, each the ghostly echo of a weapon or spell used by one of its component souls in life.
A fortune eater returns to its miserable existence if slain in combat. Only by playing a pivotal role in some heroic quest can the creature be allowed to pass into the afterlife. Their overall attitude of jealous rage, however, makes them poor allies for most adventurers, and they may have to be tricked or coerced into allowing themselves rest rather than be persuaded. Fortune eaters are notorious exaggerators, and their tales of how they met their deaths are often incomplete, distorted or outright lies.
At rest, a fortune eater resembles a large hooded humanoid. When combat begins, the faces and limbs of its component souls begin to swirl around it in a cloud.

A fortune eater can only store one roll at a time. Unluck Aura (Su) All living creatures within 20 feet of a fortune eater must succeed a DC 18 Will save or be subject to unluck. While remaining in the aura, the creature must roll all d20 rolls twice and take the worse result. A creature that succeeds its saving throw is immune to the unluck aura of that fortune eater for the next 24 hours.

Awe yeah! Ref time! This time captain lukka who was originally designed for me by @tetrameryxx all the way back in the days of colors!3D! She was in desperate need of an anthro ref (because I want commissions of her and also she is just neat as hell) so I went ahead and quickly whipped one up! It's a lil sketchy and wonky but im very happy with it! I hope you guys like it too! Here is her info:
Name: Lukka Bordey Gender: Female Height: 155 cm Age: 38 Sexuality: Pansexual Personality: Rowdy, impulsive, a jokester, loves her crew and being amongst friends, loud, sassy, open minded, playful, carefree, a bit childish. Loves committing pranks, taunts her enemies and tries her best to keep the mood light hearted/hopeful/cheer her crew up if things get tough. She will also allow her crew members to be upset and sad and understands that people can not be happy all the time. She will gladly provide a listening ear to someone who is struggling with something and also offer advice if asked for it. Lukka also loves music, especially folk music, pub music and of course sea shanties. After a succesful raid, she and her crew will party with drinks, music and dancing. She is also fiercely protective of children, especially her two adopted little ones Steve and Corraline.
Bio: She ran away as a teen because her home life was very unpleasant and toxic. She hung around the docks for a couple of weeks, begging and stealing money and food. She eventually befriended a fisherman who became her mentor of sorts. He teached her how to sail, how to fish, how to tie knots, all that handy stuff. At some point he got murdered in front of her eyes (though she was hidden from the attacker) and she was so heartbroken she just couldn't bare to hang around anymore. She took his boat and sailed out, never to return to her homeland. Eventually she met Bo, with whom she upgraded her boat to a pirate ship. Her crew slowly kept growing until she had a small crew of misfits that she was the mom to that she never got. The last addition to her crew was Steve who she saved from the cruel and self proclaimed pirate king Crom. Crom is very angry with her for taking away his plaything and is out for revenge, wanting to enslave her and her crew. She does not fear him however and instead mocks and taunts him whenever their ships meet, often only barely getting away with her life. Luckily she is not alone in her fight against Crom as another pirate captain Blackmane, also can't stand the guy. The two are close friends and even have flings from time to time though they never stay together long because they each have their own ships to look after and places they want to go. Their crews get along great however and they are almost like family. Abilities: Lukka might be short but she is also spicy! She is very skilled in using her two cutlass swords and can slash you to ribbons in seconds if you aren't careful. On top of that, she is very agile and fast, so it's hard to land a hit on her. She can produce blue crackling electricity from both her maw and her hands as well as draw it from her environment during a thunderstorm and sending it her enemies's way. She also has minor wind magic which allows her to create brief wind currents that can generate enough lift to allow her to lift off with her wings, as well as send short bursts of wind to knock a weapon out of someone's hand if they aren't holding on to it properly. Lastly, she is an amazing swimmer, being able to swim both fast and for long periods of time. She can hold her breath for up to a minute.

Hello dear! January is for just hibernating with some media for a bit, isn't it? I've been feeling mildly guilty for putting off some things I want to get done around my place, but then just going, girl it's January. It is so rainy. Just snooze a bit. (I should actually snooze.)
Anyway, yes! I saw both out and about last year. Had several friends who wanted to see The Menu and the tastiest restaurant slash theater got it for the lols, so course we went there. The night overall was the highlight for me; I didn't outright dislike it but as with so many new 2022 movies, for whatever reason I was just like, sure! A gentleman's 3 out of 5. I'd say for me personally, the Redzepi cinematic universe of Fall/Winter '22-23 rankings would go: 3. The Menu, 2. joke in TÁR, 1. René Redzepi announces closure of Noma, New York Times
And it's funny, I was actually just talking to a friend about this: I saw Decision To Leave and The Banshees of Inisherin on back to back days, and both of those I liked quite a bit, though holding Banshees a little higher. But since then, you know which of the two I've kept thinking about? Absolutely Decision To Leave. They've actually swapped in my estimation, which I think is SO interesting! Love sitting with things and seeing what has actually latched onto you. Park Chan-wook's weird romantic noir for sad adults, streaming on new little indie distributor MUBI (currently having a 3 months for $1 special, #tipstips)
