Of course, there's a couple of DNFs in there which inflate this number somewhat, but I am absolutely not going to pick through and count them out. Plus, a DNF only gets included on the list if I've gotten through a significant portion of the book. If it's a page one no-no, it's not even worth mentioning.
I made the decision at the start of this year, to try out more books I'd never heard of before. I really like trawling through the library app, or through audible's free archives and finding stuff that I'd probably never normally have discovered. Also, revisiting books that I read a long time ago and seeing if they resemble my memories of them.
Overall, I think this was a very satisfying year of reading, and I hope that I enjoy 2024's reads just as much!

Hey everyone, I've got some interesting news! Starting today, we're gonna be hosting a holiday event! I'm calling it The Twelve Days of Ask-Edd!
So from today until the 25th, we'll be passing the blog around to a few of our friends and letting them take over for the day. So for today, it's just me, Matt, Tom, and Tord, and then tomorrow it'll be a whole new set of friends!

Ok so I have had brain rot about this idea for a VERY long time and I can't hold in in anymore. I have to talk about it or I'm gonna E X P L O D E. So I'm making a FNAF x Eddsworld au that actually has a story, like it's so in-depth it's almost embarrassing. So the Classics (FNAE 1 bois) are based on the legacy designs, the Withers (FNAE 2) are designed to be similar to the older 2004-ish designs, and the Toys (also FNAE 2) are the Ellsworld girls!!

THE CHILDREN THAT POSSESS EACH ANIMATRONIC CHARACTER IS A SEPARATE ENTITY. The animatronics take care of each soul that corresponds to them like a sibling or parent would.
Withered Tom and Tord are really close and have a very good relationship as opposed to the cannon show. (They might be boyfriendz even but idk yet)
Throwing around the idea of Withered Matt and Eddy being just straight up in love (they act like an older gay couple)
THIS AU IS ENTIRELY SELF-INDULGENT. Most of the characters are not going to be exactly the same personality-wise (tord being the most extreme example I will explain in another post later)
All the Edd variants are Italian and have perfect pitch (except for Circus Eddi he's french) all Matt variants are German and can bake really well, All the Tom variants are Kiwis or New Zealanders and can play base really well (subject to change), and all the Tord variants are Norwegian and very good at fixing most things and making little toys and inventions for kids!

“I am, you make me kinda happy you know,” You stated and he let out a shy chuckle at that. His fingers running up and down your thigh, lifting your leg up and slipping in between them. You raised an eyebrow at him when he did that. He just smiled reassuringly at you.
“Want to feel close to you,” Was all he offered and you smiled bashfully at how fucking sweet that was.
“I always want to feel this way, like we’re two halves making a whole whenever we’re around each other.” You mumbled dropping your gaze to his tiny little freckles on the tip of his nose, kissing them.
“I know exactly what you mean,” He whispered and you felt the way he was watching you. His fingers gently caressing and rubbing your back.
“Oh that feels heavenly,” You sighed letting your eyes fall shut, a small shiver running up your body.
“You deserve to feel this good,” He murmured and you felt his lips on your collarbone gently and you smiled to yourself now. You moved even closer to him so that you were completely flush against him. Chest-to-chest, face to face.
It was everything you wanted and then some. You craved the sweet intimacy this gave you, a glimpse of a side from Tom not many others ever got to see.

Can you write something where the reader messes something up (whether it be in the house or with Toms work) and Tom hits her and yells at her and all that, and then when Tom goes to apologize he starts crying? You always cleaned. There was nothing else to do when Tom was the one that did the work around the house and when you got to his office, you decided to organize his papers. You thought you were doing good, but unbeknownst to you, they were organized based off of case files. So you had scrambled them up again. And when he came in, rushing to his office to find a file only to discover the mess had been cleared. And then it hit him.
“What did you do?” He asks loudly, turning to you with rage in his features,
“What did you do?” He yells again, storming towards you. You squeak as he grabs your arm in a vice grip, not even flinching as you yelp,
“Tom you’re hurting me-”
“What did you do? What did I tell you about coming into this room?!” He yells, eyes wide and crazy. You whimper, trying to pry his fingers from your arm as he grasps tighter,
“I’m sorry, I was just trying to organize your stuff, I was just trying to help. Please let go, you’re hurting me.” You try to reason. Tom huffs before he releases you with a shove, careening you back into the wall where you slide down as Tom finds what he needs, stepping over your collapsed body with an exasperated sigh. You stay there, crying to yourself as he leaves your home again, returning hours later, bringing with him a lingering sense of uncertainty and fear. You escape to your bedroom, uneasy as he enters in a new, calmer huff, retreating to his bar for a little bit of alcohol before he tries to find you. He feels guilty as it is, but the way he handled you, he knows to never lay hands on a woman, especially one so dedicated to him as you are. Climbing the stairs slowly, he searches each room he passes to find you before nearing the lit bedroom which he pushes the door open,
“Hey.” He says quietly when your figure comes into view. You don’t respond and Tom doesn’t blame you, standing at the foot of the bed. He sighs,
“In any case, I would seriously appreciate your organization skills, but with as much business as I’ve been having, I just had it all set up in a certain way and I just... “ He stops, looking down into the amber colored liquid in his tumbler, “fuck, I-I’m sorry Y/N.” He pipes up. The tone of his voice is sad and when you look at him, you can see a tear fall into his lap. He sniffles, setting his drink aside and letting out a half hearted sob,
“I have no excuse for putting hands on you, I really don’t. You and I both know that but work is so fucking stressful and I- I’m just trying to get through it and I’m not blaming you, but the way you organized it, it was so meticulously placed and then you organized it and I- I just… snapped and I’m sorry.” He explains, tears trailing from his red eyes and down his cheeks. Staring at him, he shakes his head before you stand, his head raising to follow you, tears continuing to fall. You walk over, sitting just before him. Reaching up, you swipe away the fallen tears,
“You were right though. I've been told not to touch anything in there and I did. I'm sorry too." You quickly clear up. He stares up at you before his eyes wander to the sleeve of your sleep shirt. He reaches out to raise it and find the finger shaped bruises that decorate your skin. He clicks his tongue and runs his fingertips across them,
"And this isn't… right."
"I've endured bruising from you before Tom." You tell him, a smile rising to his lips. You share a laugh before he shakes his head,
"Not these though. I should've never done this to you." He says lowly, another tear escaping the corner of his eye. You brush it away, licking your lips. He looks up again before you stand, dragging him up by his hand. He follows with a furrowed brow to where he can find you more often than not, in the lounge, fire still crackling per his request many months ago. Always have a fire burning so when he comes home he can work a little bit before he comes to bed. But it's your favorite place to be too.
You sit him down on the small couch before you climb into his lap, letting him gently place his hands on your hips as you kiss him, your fingers threaded in his hair. He hums,
"We don't have to-"
"I want to. I want to be the one doing it. Holding your arms like you do to me." You tell him with a smile as you pin his arms down around you. His mouth hangs open, arms rested at his side as you reach down to pull him out of his clothes, swiftly getting out of yours before you slide down onto him in one swift move. You moan together, your hands holding Tom's wrists down. He allows it, letting you move against him with all the power you want. His eyes are locked on your face. You whimper, dropping chest to chest with him, releasing his arms which instinctively wrap around you, hand resting at the back of your neck. He listens to you moan, holding you and kissing your neck softly, not willing to bruise anything else on you,
"So beautiful. I promise to never hurt you again baby." He pledges. You moan, nodding and bouncing against him.
And he swears not only to you, but himself that he CAN never hurt you. And he plans to abide by it. If not for himself, for you, because you're the only one that can put up with him, has stayed with him through all of the bullshit, and he owed you everything. So everything is what he'll give you, as long as it's good.

Mrs. Lennox hadn’t e-mailed you in three days. Didn’t seem much time for the outside eye, but you knew it was strange. You hoped there was nothing wrong with the interview, as you had already started working on your questions and also had plans for the extra cash coming in soon. There was a local artist whose paintings had a quite fun twist on pop culture and you liked to support him. Your living room could use some more color too.
Just when you finally had all your focus directed at the writing of your questions, Jessie popped up behind your laptop with a questioning look.
“What?” you asked impatiently, slightly irritated that you had been interrupted.
“You’re too quiet today.”
“I’m working?”
“Must be something really important to make you miss Kevin’s afternoon rage. What is it?”
“Oh, I missed it? What was it this time? The vending machine ran out of peanuts?”
“Nope. The construction site is ‘making too much noise’.”
“He means the construction site ten floors below us?”
“Yeah. You can’t even hear it!” Jessie shook her head. “Anyway, you didn’t answer my question. What are you working on?”
“An interview,” you closed your laptop.
“Ooh… is it top secret?” she wiggled her eyebrows. “Is it an A-List celebrity? Oh my God, it’s Tom Hardy, isn’t it?”
“What? No,” you chuckled. “I’ll tell you when I get the confirmation. It’s a bit uncertain for now.”
“But can you give me a hint? Like… male or female? Actor or singer? Politician, maybe? A TV host?! Give me something, Y/N!”
“Male,” you said. “And that’s all I’m giving you.”
“Male… Hm…” she squeezed her eyes. “Are you sure it’s not Tom Hardy? You know I would definitely pretend to be your assistant and sneak in that interview, right?”
“Oh, I wouldn’t doubt that. But no, Jessie, it is not Tom Hardy.”
“What a bummer. Well, good luck on the confirmation. I need to go back to that puppy coat article.”
“Puppy coat?”
“Yeah, you know… Coats for puppies. It’s quite trendy now in the winter. People still need to take their dogs out for walkies, after all.”
“Please tell me you’re putting pictures on that article.”
“You bet I am,” she smiled. “Comes out tomorrow, probably. Check the website at noon.”
“I definitely will.”
When Jessie walked away, you heard the infamous ding from your computer, announcing a new e-mail. You quickly opened the device again and clicked on the e-mail icon. It was from Brenda.
Mrs. Lennox wants to grab coffee downstairs with you at 4 p.m.
Perfect. Probably an update on the scheduling.
You replied confirming your attendance to the casual meeting and looked at your watch. It was still 3:35 p.m.
Your train of thought for the interview had been lost already, thanks to Jessie and her curiosity, so you didn’t get back to it right away. Instead, you decided to stretch your legs and walk over to Ben’s desk. He managed to make those twenty five minutes pass quite fast, getting a few laughs out of you in the process. When it was time, you got into the elevator and descended a couple of floors to the coffee shop.
You knew from experience that Sophia Lennox always arrived five minutes after the time she set. She hated waiting for people, but she did not want to make people wait for her for too long. Words you heard from Sophia herself. For that reason, you took the liberty to sit at the most discrete table and wait for her inside. As expected, she appeared after five short minutes and sat in front of you.
“Have you ordered anything yet?” she asked, signaling to the waitress that usually served her table.
You shook your head just as the waitress approached the table.
“Hello, dear. One latte for me and…” Mrs. Lennox looked at you.
“A mocha for me,” you smiled at Sam, the waitress.
“Right away,” she smiled back, walking away.
“I could start this conversation with ‘you’re probably wondering why I asked you to meet me here’, but I know you’re smart enough not to wonder. You know this is about the interview,” Mrs. Lennox started. “And let me get this out of the way and say that it’s very much confirmed. You will be interviewing him. The only issue we’re having is his schedule. He’s a very busy man, apparently. Much busier than I thought.”
You kept on listening, not finding that information surprising.
“It was his birthday a couple of weeks ago and he had taken a break from his usual schedule to celebrate. Now that he’s back, there are some things he needs to take care of before even thinking about interviews. At least, that’s what his manager told me.”
“So no prediction?”
“Actually, yes. There is a prediction, but I don’t think you’re going to like it. He will probably be available between the 15th and the 21st of December. Though it’s no guarantee.”
“Oh! That’s like three weeks from now,” you reflected for a few seconds. “And then it will be quite a hurry to write the article.”
“I know… I felt really tempted to pull the ex-girlfriend card, but you’ve asked me not to and I didn’t.”
“What, you think they would make time for it if they knew?”
“I mean, probably. It’s good press for him too,” you looked down after hearing her words. Of course it’s about press. “But all they know is that it’s for SL Magazine.”
Before you could reply, Sam came back with your orders, placing them on the table.
“Thank you.”
As she walked away, you grabbed your cup of mocha and took a small sip.
“So…” Mrs. Lennox cleared her throat. “Can you do it?”
You knew that was a rhetorical question. There was no way you could backpedal now.
“Yes. But I’d really appreciate it if you managed to get me the 15th or 16th. The sooner, the better.”
“I couldn’t agree with you more,” your boss sighed, raising her cup at you before taking a sip. “I will try to get the-”
The conversation was interrupted by Mrs. Lennox’s cellphone ringing inside her purse. She reached for it and looked slightly surprised with the name on the screen. “It’s her.”
“Who?” you frowned.
“The manager,” she slid her finger across the screen and put the phone on her ear. “Hello?”
You grabbed your cup with both hands and took a long sip as you watched the conversation.
“I’m great! How about you? Oh, that’s lovely. I believe it was Tuesday, yes. Not at all! I completely understand. Well��� um…” Mrs. Lennox looked at you hesitantly before carrying on. “Yes, that’s her.”
The nervousness and apprehension started kicking in. You found yourself almost squeezing the cup between your hands, waiting for your boss to end that call and tell you what was going on.
“That’s what I’m hoping for,” she let out a business laugh. “Oh, that will get a little rushed, don’t you think? No, no. I appreciate it. Thank you very much, Miss Dawson. Of course. Bye bye.”
Mrs. Lennox placed her phone on the table and took a deep breath. She looked at you and bit her lower lip thoughtfully.
“What happened?” you asked. “It wasn’t canceled, was it?”
“No! Don’t even say something like that,” she shook her head and waved her hand at you. “Well, his manager is quite good. She looked into SL and found out you work for us, so she wanted to know if, by any chance, you would be the one interviewing him. I wasn’t going to lie, of course, and said yes.”
“Oh...”
“Look, I know this isn’t what you wanted, but it is actually a good thing, Y/N. She said she’ll squeeze us in for next week!”
“Next week?!”
“Isn’t it great? I knew they would make time for you.”
Of course, I’m ‘good press’.
“You have started on the material, right?” Mrs. Lennox asked.
“I have, actually. But I’m still doing research.”
“Okay. You’ll have to hurry a little bit. Miss Dawson said next Wednesday is the perfect day, which means you only have about four days to finish it. And keep in mind that I want to see it before you go, so we should have a little spare time in case you need to make edits,” she stopped to take another sip and you accepted that your weekend was going to be wasted on Sirius Black research. “Do you know her, by the way? The manager.”
“No. He had a different one back then,” you sounded more bitter than you intended, and Mrs. Lennox eyed you for a couple of seconds.
“I won’t ask.”
“Thanks.”
“Well… let’s get to work!”

With a glass of red wine on your nightstand and random music videos from YouTube playing on the TV, you typed question after question on your laptop, sitting on your queen sized bed on a Saturday night. It was going to be a big article. Two full pages with three columns of text each, according to Mrs. Lennox. She wanted the narrated type, with you describing even his motioning hands. It was going to be a handful, but you were prepared. You had done it before. This wouldn’t be any different from the Saoirse Ronan one.
As you went through his discography, you listened to all the songs you hadn’t listened before, which meant most of them. After the breakup, you had stopped listening to his music altogether. You only knew the ones that became hits and played in the radio, gas stations, stores, every damn where. It was quite annoying, actually.
You got to the last song of his latest album, released eight months ago: Love Falls. There was no music video, so you paused the TV and clicked on the song on your laptop’s Spotify to listen to it through your headphones.
The lyrics immediately caught your attention.
Have you cried yourself to sleep?
Have you felt this incomplete?
Have you ever cut yourself so deep to see if you still bleed?
Oh, another angsty song. Great.
Do you ever feel wanted?
Do you ever feel needed?
Do you ever feel happy?
Or are you just like me?
What the fuck is he talking about? He’s the artist of the decade! Of course he’s wanted. If there was something that pissed you off about the music industry was when artists tried to be ‘relatable’ in their songs, even if it meant portraying an image that wasn’t necessarily true.
I’m hanging by a thread, a rope, the noose around my neck
I choke, ‘cause every time I’m falling love falls out of me
Right. What about all the girls he’d been with? Every month there were pictures of him partying with someone different and- Well, actually, that was it. Partying. In your research you realized he hadn’t been in a serious relationship since… you.

Alone, 'cause every time I'm falling love falls out of me
Maybe… maybe he wasn’t trying to be relatable. Maybe he wasn’t projecting a fake image. Maybe he did feel like that.
I'll never forget the day I died

Flower of my heart withered and dried
You took a very long sip of your wine and wiped your lips with your sweater’s sleeve.
Love falls out of me
And that was it. The song ended. You had gone through his entire discography, listened to every song and watched every music video. Weirdly, apart from the ones that were released when you were still together, that was the first song that made you feel something. The first one you actually enjoyed. It was a really good song, you had to admit. It was raw and vulnerable, something you hadn’t seen in one of his songs since the first two albums.
You played it again.

“Interesting.”
Mrs. Lennox was reading your material for the interview, with a pen between two fingers, ready to cross out or add a sentence.
You were sitting on the comfy, fluffy chair in front of her table, nervously bouncing your leg as you squeezed your hands together. You hoped she liked what you had prepared because you really wanted to use it.
“Oh, I didn’t know this.” She kept reading, clearly interested. The fact that she hadn’t done any edits yet gave you hope.
A few more minutes went by, no edits, and suddenly she looked up at you. Slowly, she put the sheets of paper down and took off her red cat-eye glasses.
“I’m impressed, Y/N. You really went above and beyond on this. I’m almost certain this is the very first time I didn’t have to edit the material for an interview before approving it.”
“Does that mean…?”
“It’s approved. You can use it. As a matter of fact, you have to use it. It’s perfect!” Mrs. Lennox chuckled. “You go straight to the point and ask exactly what people want to know. Not to mention the small details you’ve picked up on! Well done. This article is going to be amazing.”
You sighed, relieved. “Thank you, Mrs. Lennox. I sure hope so.”
She smiled at you. “And I’m curious to find out the answers.”
“Honestly? Me too.”
“I know,” she nodded, still smiling. “Good thing we won’t have to wait for too long. Tomorrow is the day!”
Mrs. Lennox stood up and handed you back the papers. “You know the deal or should I recap?”
“Please, recap.”
“It’s an intimate interview, as you know. This means that the only people in the room are going to be you and him. All he has tomorrow, besides this interview, is a photoshoot for a radio station or something. It’s supposed to take place in the morning, but it’s likely that it will be extended into the afternoon. And that’s why his manager scheduled our interview for 6 p.m. A little later than our usual, I know, but she’s squeezing us in. It’s not his usual either.”
“Place?”
“His personal studio. He has something to do there after the interview, apparently. Or even during the interview, doesn’t really matter. It’ll still be just the two of you,” she paused. “You need the address?”
“No, I got it.”
“Great! I think that’s about everything.”
“Okay,” you nodded slowly, glancing at the material in your hands. “I should get back to work, then.”
“Actually, Y/N, why don’t you go home? I have nothing for you here.”
“Really?”
“Yes. You don’t have to come tomorrow either, use the day to prepare for the interview. Study the material and rock on! Oh, and don’t forget to call me before you get to the studio. I want to give you my pep talk,” she smiled.
“Sure,” you smiled back, standing up. “See you in two days, then.”
“See you, Y/N. Good luck.”

Demi? Meaning partial? No, quite the opposite, actually.
The Kickstarter campaign for Scion: Demigod starts on this Thursday, September the 3rd, at 2pm Eastern US time! And unlike the Kickstarter for Scion: Hero and Scion: Origin, the writing for this book is finished before the KS.
There are actually a fair number of important differences, so, as promised last week, here’s a rundown of how this KS is different from the first one for Scion: Origin and Scion: Hero, since we have indeed learned a lot since then (the first Scion KS was our 22nd and we’ve done 24 more KSs since then):
1- Like I said above, the writing is done. In fact, it is at the stage where the writing is over and the heavy lifting for the developer is over. All those words are now “the text” and any changes are going to be tweaks and minor fixes. Errata stuff. More on that later. The writing that was ready when we did the Scion: Origin/Hero KS was at the Redlines stage, as stated on the KS page at the time, and we have learned that we need more finalized text before we go live on a Kickstarter.
2- The rules are done. Well, of course the rules are done if the text is done, Rich! Sure, yet the fact that during Scion: Origin/Hero‘s KS the Storypath System was still being heavily playtested by our teams, and was being developed for two different creative teams (for Scion and the Trinity Continuum) so that design decisions were still happening is actually very different than now. Storypath has been “battle-tested” in numberless games of Scion, as well as the Trinity Continuum, Dystopia Rising: Evolution, and the They Came From…! game lines.
3- The text will be previewed to backers in sections throughout the KS, you’ll have it all by the end, and can back out before we deliver. Almost exclusively, this is how we handle our Kickstarters now. It eliminates a lot of the fear that the game will develop differently as the writing and developing stages progress. And we get pretty solid discussions going about the text all during the KS, which can be a lot of fun for backers.
4- Our average track record (not including Dark Eras 2 which was structured very differently) for delivery of the Kickstarters after Scion: Origin/Hero‘s KS has been 1.6 months earlier than estimated. Part of that has been because we extended out our estimated delivery date, but the rest has been better internal systems, like:
5- James Bell runs our Kickstarters now. We call him the Kickstarter Concierge because his entire focus is managing our KSs and helping out our backers. He does a phenomenal job with getting folks answers and enabling fun conversations in the Comments.

6- One of our new processes is a set phase to contract and receive art for the KS, which then rolls right into getting art for rest of the book. This practice is also helpful in getting the art for the Stretch Goal rewards.
7- We have at least one Errata phase after the Backer PDF goes out, although in some cases, and possibly this one, other Errata phases can be included at the developers’ discretion. Rather than having backers write in to us on the forums or via Kickstarter, we now have an Errata system that includes a new form administered by one of our in-house development overseers. Not the developer themselves. In fact, the Text to Editing to Layout to Done process contains more than three times the number of eyes reviewing and confirming changes than it did when we were pulling together Scion: Origin and Scion: Hero.
8- There are more devs understanding the game and rules, with Neall as the lead dev as opposed to having to be deeply involved in every phase like for Scion: Origin/Hero because only he saw how all the pieces needed to come together. Meghan Fitzgerald, who developed Mysteries of the World: The Scion Companion that released recently, and Monica Speca, developer of Titanomachy (the Advance PDF of which releases on Wednesday), are just two of the devs who are able to develop Scion books now that the first two main books are available. Danielle Lauzon is able to bring her unmatched knowledge of how the Storypath System works if needed. This means that while Neall directly developed Scion: Demigod, he has other devs he can run ideas past or who can jump in now if real-life issues impact his work on Scion.
9- One book, not two. More focus, less stress on creators. Also, you’re only pledging for one book (although feel free to pledge for as many as you want!) so your pledge amount will likely be less for this KS, as will likely be our total amount.
10- Scion: Demigod presents concepts which are not just the next “levels” of power for our Heroes, but which expand on what happens once a Scion is more than a hero, but not yet a god.
I’m thinking there may be more differences, but let’s stick with these as we get a Top Ten List sort of thing going. We’re going to have a fun Kickstarter with Scion: Demigod, and we’re hoping all of you can join us for it.
Also, we’ll be including links to Scion: Demigod Actual Play sessions all throughout the KS if you want to get an idea of how great it plays!

Today’s Reason to Celebrate!
Over the weekend we learned of the unexpected and sad death of Chadwick Boseman, the actor best known for portraying King T’Challa of Wakanda, the Black Panther, although in his relatively short career he also played several great and inspirational historical figures. The impact of his work portraying a comic book hero far outweighed the basic idea; we celebrate that his Black Panther embodied an ideal and inspirational place needed by many people around the world. As stated by former President Obama: “To be young, gifted, and Black; to use that power to give them heroes to look up to; to do it all while in pain – what a use of his years.”

The Hoban 10/4
The first Sunday of the month is the Washtown Sunday Shindig, a Second Life tradition going back...a really long way. Haha. Washtown was one of the first Firefly RP communities in SL, and its so great the heart of the town, The Hoban, has returned there. Its a great pleasure to DJ for these with some of my oldest SL friends, and new folks too. summary - After getting ditched on the dance floor, Tom only has so much time to mope before he sees you. The way that you let your hair down makes him think you might have moves he’d like to see up close.
Tom was pissed.
Maybe pissed was too strong of a word.
Tom was mad. Frustrated. Annoyed. Whatever.
It really wasn’t that big of a deal. He went clubbing with his brothers and Harrison and he brought along a girl. He didn’t know why. His game had been steadily decreasing on nights out and he was sick of going home alone. He had met this girl on the set of Chaos Walking and she seemed more than keen to go out for the night. She was hot enough, but her personality was nonexistent. He chose not to care, only really wanting a shag for the night anyway.
Tom and his mates went to the club, downed a round of shots, and went on to the dancefloor. It wasn’t long before he lost sight of the girl he had actually brought. “You seen Molly?” he asked Harrison, shouting over the volume of the music.
“That’s her name?” Harrison teased. Tom just rolled his eyes and brushed his fingers through his hair.
“I haven’t seen her since we took the shots,” his younger brother, Sam, added. “She disappeared.”
“What’s the point in bringing a girl to the club if you don’t get to dance with her?” Harry asked. Tom shoved him his brother and took a drink from his beer. His eyes continuously scanned the club, looking for Molly.
“Just let her go, man,” Harrison laughed, clapping his friend on the shoulder. “It’s not like you actually liked her.”
“It’s just kind of annoying when you specifically bring someone-”
“Mate,” Harry said, nudging his brother and pointing across the club. “Think I found your girl.” Tom, Harrison, and Sam all followed Harry’s finger and found Molly dancing with a guy, his hands gripping her hips as they danced to the music. The guy pushed her hair over her shoulder and started kissing her neck. She laughed, gripping the side of his face and pulling his lips to hers. Tom rolled his eyes and brushed his hands through his hair again.
“Well fuck me I guess,” he mumbled. The other boys gave him sympathetic pats on the back before continuing to dance to the music.
Tom wasn’t heartbroken or anything. He had no real feelings for Molly. He was just pissed. Mad. Frustrated. Annoyed. Whatever.
While his friends made their way further into the crowd of people dancing, Tom walked over to the bar and ordered a jack and coke. He sat at the bar and drank it, his eyes scanning the crowd. Tom always did love to people watch. He liked to play a game where he stared at someone’s shoes and only their shoes and imagined what they would look like when he looked up. For example, someone in old, raggedy, white, velcro sneakers was probably an old man, while someone in a pair of pristine white converse was probably a girl with a lot of time on her hands to clean her shoes. He was rarely right, but it was a fun game to play on the tube. Feeling bored and not in the mood to dance, he tried to play the game then, but with so many moving feet it was proving near impossible. The minute he’d see a pair of red stilettos, they’d be blocked by some shiny black dress shoes. He ordered another drink and downed it just as fast.
And then he saw her.
It wasn’t her shoes that Tom noticed, but her dancing. It wasn’t even that her dress was particularly amazing (though he did have a sudden desire to rip it from her body), but the way she moved so carelessly was intoxicating. She wasn’t even dancing with another person. It was like she was in her own little world, feeling the music and dancing to it exactly how she wanted to. No one was even approaching her which, to him, seemed like a sin. How was no one trying to dance with her? Then again, there he was, sitting on his stool, staring at her, not even making a single move in her direction.
So he was a bit of a hypocrite.
Tom drank the rest of his drink quickly before standing up from the barstool. He swayed a little bit, steadied himself, and headed in her direction. Before he could get to her, he passed Harrison who grabbed him by the arm. “You good, mate?” he asked over the music.
“Fine,” he said quickly. “Just gonna go chat someone up.” Harrison laughed and nodded, letting his friend go stumble over his feet in the unsuspecting girl’s direction.
She had been enjoying her night out with her friends. They hadn’t had a proper girls’ night in a long time, so they were living it up, drinking their weight in alcohol and dancing to the music however they so pleased. She, martini in hand, swayed her hips to the music, laughing as her friends cheered her on. She was never one to get much attention at the clubs, so she was always content acting however foolishly she wanted. She had no one to impress. Besides, if any guy was going to approach her, she wanted them to understand that she had killer dance moves and wasn’t embarrassed to show them off.
She was confident, there was no denying.
When she felt a tap on her shoulder, she jumped a bit and turned. A boy, an attractive boy, stood beside her, an amused smirk on his face. “You’re a lovely dancer,” he said to her. “Why don’t you have a partner?”
She scoffed, “Wouldn’t you like to know.”
Tom was caught off guard, but intrigued. Girls usually fell at his feet, not that he was bragging or anything. He just wasn’t used to someone replying back so wittily. He liked it. “Look, I’ll be blunt,” he said over the music. “I came here with a girl but she ditched me. I’ve been watching you all night in, like, the least creepy way possible, and so I thought I’d shoot my shot and come over here and see if you’ll dance. With me.” Tom could see that he had made a slight dent in her wall of defensive sarcasm, seemingly not used to the type of attention Tom was giving her. It surprised him. How did this girl not have men falling at her feet? “I’m Tom,” he said, sticking his hand out for her to shake.
“(Y/N),” she said back. Tom smiled and held his hand in hers even after she stopped shaking it.
“Dance with me?” he asked. The corner of the girl’s mouth lifted in a grin as she put her drink down at a nearby table and wrapped her arms around Tom’s neck. His hands immediately found her waist as he pulled her body flush against his. (Y/N) laughed as her hips moved against his, the pair dancing to the beat of the song pumping through the speakers. Tom grinned as well, loving the feeling of the girl’s fingers tugging at the hair at the nape of his neck. He was surprised when she spun around, now pressing her backside to his front. Almost instinctively, he pressed his lips to her neck, gripping her hips tighter in his hands. She raised her arm over her head, letting her hand grab the back of his neck again. Tom noticed her breathing get heavier as he left a mark on her skin, slowly kissing the bruise that began to form. He couldn’t help but grin against her neck which made her laugh lightly as well.
“You sure know how to sweep a girl off her feet, Tom Holland,” she said to him, her lips close to his ear.
“Mm, so you know who I am?” he chuckled back.
“I don’t live under a rock,” she said. Her lips were barely brushing against his skin, but he could feel her smile.
“That any part of why you agreed to dance?” he asked.
“I don’t give a shit if you’re Spider-Man or a fuckin’ rubbish man,” she said with a laugh. “I can’t remember the last time someone asked me to dance.”
“I don’t know if that’s a compliment or not,” he said to her.
She grinned and placed a kiss to his jaw before whispering, “Wouldn’t you like to know.”
Tom laughed and stopped dancing, putting some distance between him and the girl. Just as quickly, he grabbed her hand and pulled her through the club to a more secluded, VIP section. Once there, he brought her to the back and slammed her against the wall, pressing his lips to hers. He gripped her wrists in his hands, pinning them to the wall on either side of her body. She kissed him back, subconsciously fighting his hold on her, wanting nothing more than to run her fingers through his curly brown hair. He was relentless though, determined to show dominance over her. His kiss was rough and sloppy, an occasional growl coming from his throat. (Y/N) let out a quiet moan when he started kissing along her neck, leaving little marks like the one he had on the dancefloor.
Suddenly, (Y/N)’s phone started vibrating in her bra. Tom couldn’t help but laugh and pull away from her, resting his forehead against hers. “I should get that,” she said breathlessly. Tom smirked at her and grabbed the part of her phone that was sticking out of her dress, pulling it out for her. She giggled and looked at who was calling her before a frown appeared on her face. “It’s one of my friends I’m here with,” she said. “I’m sorry, I should take this.” Tom nodded and let her step away from him. She pressed the phone to one ear and her finger to the other, struggling to hear her friend over the loud music of the club. Only a few moments later and she reapproached Tom, an apologetic look on her face that he didn’t like a bit.
“Don’t tell me you have to go,” he almost whined. He wanted nothing more than to take her home for the night. Unfortunately, she nodded.
“One of my friends just puked,” she explained. “It’s our first girls’ night in a while and we all swore we’d go home together. No boys allowed kind of thing.”
“Of course,” he said sarcastically. (Y/N) smiled and held a finger up to Tom, signaling for him not to move. She walked over to a nearby table and Tom could barely make out what she said to the couple sitting there.
“Do you have a pen?”
The girl of the pair nodded and sifted through her purse before giving (Y/N) the pen. (Y/N) thanked her and made her way back over to Tom. “Give me your arm,” she said. Amused, Tom stuck his arm out to her and let her push up his sleeve. He watched as she wrote her number across his skin, even putting a small heart at the end. “In case you had more than just a late night shag in mind,” she said. He chuckled and nodded as she pulled his sleeve back down. “Thanks for the dance,” she said before turning away from him. Just as she started to go, Tom couldn’t help but stop her.
“Just the dance?” Tom called. She stopped, turned back to face him, and took the few steps back to stand right in front of him. Then, she pressed a small kiss to his cheek.
“Goodnight, Tom.”
And she was gone. And Tom was hooked.

If there is one episode I’m excited about is this one. I’m dying to watch it!
In a conversation I had a few days ago I was discussing with @boristheelder about Chloe’s Arc in this season and surprisingly we both expressed the same thought.
Chloe in this season has three stages in her arc. The first is disbelief, she is cautious and hurt. Chloe cannot comprehend what is going on and how to react to Lucifer’s nature.

As far as we can speculate with the new information of the month gap between 3x24 and 4x01 what we are going to find in 4x01 is two broken souls who miraculously love each other and try to cope.
Lucifer is almost certain he will use sex I mentioned before in 4x01, hence his new project but not necessarily sexual partner Eve. In Chloe’s case, she put her trust in the wrong person when she was on her lowest point. Father Kinley.
Graham McTavish who plays Father Kinley during most if not all the 4x05 episode was in New Zealand so his involvement on the events of this episode is heavily induced with a good dose of speculation.
Father Kinley is imprisoned either in 4x04 or most probably according to my belief in 4x05. After all, he makes a spectacular escape in 4x09 so…
But let’s take things first. The case of the week is a bit obscure on all possible levels as we only have some bits and pieces to put together a blurry picture…
The murder seems to be happening at a car exhibition or as the L.A. residents know it as the Petersen Automobile Museum. According to some sources, there was a commotion and everyone present had to act a panic mode scene after an ‘unfortunate’ (read murder) event.

hat murder leads our gang to a house in the suburbs of L.A. with a beautiful and expensive silver Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe! A GORGEOUS car if you ask me…
Anyways… Inquiries are made and things take their way towards solving the case but that’s all we know as another scene took the majority of the shooting days to be shot.
Before I start writing about *that* scene I want to mention that Lucifer in this episode has a session with Linda and wears the same shirt he will use until the end of the episode.
A very unique in texture light blue shirt. This session is one of the reasons that make me wonder if Linda gives birth later on in the season or if she just returns at her job after only just one episode between the birth and a session with Lucifer.
The fact that Linda wears a red dress and the photo does not show her midsection has me wondering as well as her wearing PJs at the last episode… We shall see…

The scene I cannot wait to see is the LUX scene of this episode. It almost 50 hours of shooting to be done at the stage and some more so outside the Cicada Restaurant, as I have mentioned before, also known as LUX’s entrance.
^We had two LUX patrons stating this so I have no idea if Eve has a power, Lucifer’s are growing or it is just a coincidence... Perhaps someone is brooding and sees the couples making out?
At LUX we have first of all Ella and Eve who seem to hit it off quite well as Ella has some drinks at LUX. They talk to have some fun probably but do remember that Ella is now questioning her faith something that I believe that the events of 4x05 might help her.
Ella also is a HUGE supporter of Deckerstar despite what has happened between Lucifer and Chloe which Ella might attribute to Marcus’ betrayal and eventual death if Lucifer was accused of it…
I mean it is a probability that Lucifer was arrested hence the one month jump and lack of communication but that’s in my head has something like a 15-20% probability of happening.
So we are at LUX and guess what… LUX’s patrons and everyone inside are held hostages as far as I can tell. The SWAT (Special Weapons Attack Team) team is also there as you can see from the black van.
Now we do know that inside are Ella, Eve and Lucifer. Outside LUX we have Dan and Maze. Yet where is Chloe? Well someone did mention that there was a “hidden” entrance to LUX so I would assume that Chloe did eventually did sneak in or was already in although I believe it’s the first.
Yet why Chloe and not Maze? That’s a good question I cannot answer. All I know is that Chloe’s presence at LUX is something that will happen whether she was in there as the place was taken over or afterwards.
What we also have there is a rather “demonic” bartender. Although the description says nothing about the bartender being a Demon the abilities she has are great and has some core scenes and even a stuntwoman I believe in that episode so I would assume that LUX’s bartenders were selected really carefully.

Now comes the most important part of the episode. There is a video which was deleted and which you can find in this post. I’ll not say where if you haven’t noticed it. If you are no keen into to really big spoilers please stop reading.

*Interlude Over*
In this episode, Lucifer gets stubbed and we almost lose him.
Before I explain what I believe has happened I would like to conclude what I was discussing with @boristheelder Chloe in this season has an Arc of 3 levels. Turmoil, Realization and Action towards getting Lucifer back or at least at first mending their relationship up to 4x09 where I believe she opens up again to a robe dressed Lucifer.
Episode 4x05 is the episode where Chloe realizes that you cannot dismiss love so easily, what she needed was again to trust him and she does that in this episode so the damn breaks and everything that held her back is released but much to Lucifer’s bad luck so does his vulnerability around her.
If you remember 4x02 where I believe that Lucifer is back being invulnerable around Chloe and thus extremely hurt and confused, in 4x05 he makes some very bad choices that lead to him being severely hurt and I do not mean 3x17 hurt… I mean 1x13 hurt!
We cannot be sure who Lucifer is set to protect and perhaps the stabbing happens early in LUX’s take over and at the end. Meaning that Father Kinley may himself or may have had someone else trying to kill the Devil. Who knows really but that’s my hunch. Especially since we have a guy with a tonsure in the episode... Tonsure is the circular shave Christian monks have since the middle ages...
Call me whatever you like but do you remember how Lucifer investigated Marcus’ mark through the Code Da Vinci movies? Well, do you remember Silas? The misguided albino assassin in Code Da Vinci? Just saying...
Whether Lucifer is trying to protect someone like Chloe or Eve or even Ella. Whether he was the main target or not Chloe’s proximity makes him lose a huge amount of blood that makes him in many photos look ashen and then taken away by an ambulance with only Eve by his side as Chloe can be rarely seen further away in some cases but not often (like one time or two).
Examining the scenarios Lucifer either
Gets hurt early on and they have to get Chloe outside LUX but that does not happen quickly enough so Lucifer starts to bleed out and Chloe finally realizes what Lucifer has sacrificed by being around her.
Lucifer believing like in scenario A that he is invulnerable with or without Chloe’s proximity he is stubbed by what it seems to be a military/hunting knife (missionary?). That leads to a chain of events for everyone not only trying to get to Lucifer who is inside LUX but also defuses the situation at the bar.
^The little amount of blood is either for the ambulance scene or someone else is also hurt. If you were praying for Azrael to be back, do pray to be in this episode although the chances are slim and none of the BTS supports it. :(
No matter what happens and although I would have loved for Lucifer to protect Chloe again only to fail, we have some very important things going into motion after this episode.
First, Chloe realises that Lucifer is capable of dying as well as what he has gone through for her.
Second, this opens a window for past events to come to the light 1x13, 2x13, 2x05 etc.
Third, Chloe is finally passing from the state of turmoil and by having lost faith to Father Kinley she starts to see Lucifer under a new light she was not able to do so before. Everything now counts more than before, have a different meaning if you like.
Fourth, Chloe seems to be held away from Lucifer as he is rushed to the ambulance. Probably Eve or Maze (or both) make sure she stays away in order for Lucifer to start healing undisturbed. Imagine seeing the man you love, the Devil getting hurt and you are the one who is causing all that pain. An allegory here I believe with what happened between 3x24 to 4x01.
Moreover, she is powerless as she cannot follow and if Chloe knows what causes Lucifer’s vulnerability according to my theory that is, then she has an answer she was finding very hard to admit. Can you Love the Devil? Yes, because he is Lucifer. Just Lucifer.
I could spend a lot of time writing about what that scene means for the episode and the season as a whole but I think that the proper meta can wait….
You may ask how will the situation be resolved? Well, the combination between Dan, Maze and the Bartender will certainly help to keep an eye on them as well as Chloe.
^The LUX extras were exhausted so imagine the actors and the crew!

The post from the writer had the summary for each character behind his lament over his PC’s autocorrect. More clearly we can see Amenadiel’s who is apparently in a difficult situation of trying to find a job, any job, while weighing the new sense of responsibility fatherhood bring along in his life. Whether born or not that child is already causing some havoc and even more in the next episodes. In 4x05 we also have Amenadiel’s stuntman at the stage meaning that Amenadiel may have had an active role in the LUX situation or a new character appears a bit early...
The other two summaries are a bit more difficult to decipher. The second is Maze’s and you can even make out the name as many have pointed out on Tumblr.

Lesley, Ann did post that she had another scene with Dan in that episode (aside from the ones with Ella outside LUX?) and although Lesley-Ann did reveal that Maze will really all in love in this season I wonder if it’s with the baby and not with a man or woman. Yes she lives with Linda and it would have been fun to see them together but there is a prickling at the back of my head that whispers “Dan”. We shall see but let’s keep this as an afterthought.
^Dan at what it seems to be Chloe’s house or LUX, I would bet Chloe’s house which is behind the LUX set. Who knows... perhaps it’s at LUX and part of the ending of the episode where Dan realises where he is heading and Maze had enough.
In 3x26 Dan was shown that he had a dark side that never really grew in size and in S4 it seems like it's out of control. All the fighting he gets into with Maze makes me wonder whether he joins her in bounty hunting as a way to redeem himself of what happened to Charlotte but also as Joe has said jokingly once, Dan got a taste of blood in S2 so whenever you do not see him he is out there killing people.
Of course, Joe’s words were meant as a joke but what if bounty hunting or taking part to fights with Maze is what helps him cope? Is it here in episode 4x05 that Maze realists how far Dan has gone? Is Dan the one who “recruits” her for a semi-controlled rule-breaking? I believe he is…
The first summary is the most baffling and heart-wrenching one.

Call me a Hallmark season special fanatic but after considering what has happened to Lucifer and how Chloe cannot approach him, the woman who run to his side and cradled him in 2x12… Sigh…
Do tell me if you were that woman what you would have done seeing the man you love, the Devil or not (who cares anymore at that point?), been taken away, bleeding to death, wasting away partly because of you is taken away what would you do? What would you do if another woman was above him offering him comfort as he was looking ashen and out of it, what you would have done?
I’ll take a wild chance and say what the writer of this episode has summarized… Just saying…
Concluding as you have guessed this is a very hard episode which I believe you will all love as much I will and do remember the other scripts of the Scriptwriter…
Pops gave us Lucifer saving Chloe, being burned and of course a drunk Chloe passing out on him. Homewrecker analyzed the matter of trust between Lucifer and Chloe as well as Dan’s dark side, the Deceptive Little Parasite…
Who can forget Lucifer crying over the pain of Chloe and his Mother to ignite the sword? Off the Record was partly his work while Til Death Do us Part again dealt with the matter of trust. The Last Heartbreak gave us a tender moment between Lucifer and an unconscious Chloe while we learned more about Marcus without losing touch with the series and finally 4x05…
Lucifer will Expire Erect but not in bed in the middle of an orgy…

This episode had really intrigued me since the title was released. Expire Erect fits perfectly with the show. And again it promises angst and emotions.
There are so many hints and situations to discuss that it is difficult to start.The night al Lux seems pretty hot: it is just a case or is it related to a plan? If we consider Eve having such a kind of "mojo" is it an attempt to use it or to control at least? Is Lucifer using it for his own purpose?
I still think Eve will bring back the old Devil, so if he now feels at ease just with Eve at his side, no surprise if he is back to the old habits of multiple one night partners. Curious to know more about the session with Linda: is it about Eve or about Linda's pregnancy/ baby? For sure, she will offer good advice that Lucifer will take in his own way and maybe focus just on his partner in crime and not on his former partner anymore
I'm glad we can see also more about Amenadiel and his struggle to live as a human being. This character and Woodside deserve a lot and I wait for a meaningful arc for them, including the realisation that actions have consequences. The same realisation that everyone needs to reach.
Moving back to Lux set, we have BTS of Dan and Maze. Their partnership grows and consolidates, but we don't know if it lasts. What if Dan discovers the role she played in all Cain's stuff? It is true they will be together in the hospital at the end of the season, so I want to give them a chance. Will be they a couple? LesleyAnn has announced a Maze in love. But she had also teased about a potential Maze girlfriend. Will it be Eve? Just for fun? And Maze's real love will be the baby? We know the feelings she has for Trixie, so no surprise if she develops a strong bond with the Nephilim
Also, Ella is at Lux and meets Eve. And from the BTS of episodes 6 and 7 they will work together. Sanoiro states Ella will regain her faith or part of it after this episode: will Eve help her? Ella's open and welcoming attitude can play an important role with a character usually blamed and hated, creating a special relationship between them. That can plague Chloe or push her to think a lot about herself or the faith restored is more related to anything occurring at Lux? Chloe and Lucifer trying to protect each other? Chloe coming to protect them all?
Let's see
The last section is for Chloe. Despite all we have (or not have) seen, I strongly believe this season gives her all the room she deserves. I totally agree on the 3 phase arc here suggested. Perhaps realisation of her real feelings starts in episode 4. But it will burst in episode 5. How Chloe join the team at Lux is not clear ae we have just her car outside. She can be there because called on duty or following a criminal (Kinley? Someone working for him? ) And it is unclear if she enters or not. Does she need to be really close to Lucifer to affect him?
Does the secret door at Lux suggest a way in or have another meaning? Assuming she is inside, is her love/ faith already restored to make Lucifer vulnerable or is something she sees to have that effect? Lucifer trying to protect Ella or Eve, or even Chloe herself. In any case, Lucifer will almost die. If not aware of her power yet, Chloe will realize it now.
Pushed away from the one she loves she will just look at him and Eve together ( based on Lavi's video with Tom smoking close to an ambulance), realizing what she had and is risking to lose. I agree on all the angst and turmoil Sanoiro described. The only point now is how will Chloe react and also Lucifer. They will work together but at which level of personal relationship is not clear. Probably they will try to be just colleagues. But the reaction of Chloe in episode 7, with Eve touching Lucifer in front of her, speaks volume on her success.
My final question: will Eve try to get between them to win Lucifer back or to test Chloe to be sure she is ready for all the supernatural stuff?

In my fanfic, I have you locking SL and JL into a sauna until they beg for mercy. They are starting to shed their clothing and you will not release them until they agree to a lie detector test (your co-conspirator is an FBI man. Handsome, smart and charming, a Tom H kind of guy.) This won't be your average fanfiction, but, hey, your average fanfic is dull and cliché as hell. I anticipate Letocest and the baring of psychopathic and narcissistic personalities. Also, I think that SL is going to wind up in a group home, if you know what I mean.

Makes one's skin all nice and red and yes even a bit tender if the going gets rough enough but hey! That's what an 80°C sauna session is all about. 😈

Isaiah Broner vs Tom Lawlor
Broner presses his nose right up against Lawlor’s as they stare each other down. These two clearly didn’t like each other, and had. Broner shoved Lawlor back and patted his own chest, telling Lawlor to bring it, and Lawlor gave Broner exactly what he wanted, rearing back and blasting Broner with a chop to the chest! Broner stumbled back, but didn’t back down, meeting Lawlor with a chop of his own, as the two men began to trade chops in the middle of the ring!
Very quickly, both men’s chests seemed to be turning red, and Tom Lawlor quickly switched up his approach, instead grabbing Broner and tossing him overhead with a Release T-Bone suplex! Broner crashed down to the mat and quickly got back up, however, grabbing Lawlor and throwing him overhead with a T-Bone of his own! Lawlor quickly got back to his feet, and grabbed Broner again, tossing him overhead with another T-Bone! Broner quickly gets up, but instead of continuing to the cycle of T-Bone suplexes, he catches Lawlor with an eye poke, stunning Tom before sending Lawlor into the ropes, and on the rebound popping Tom up into the air and blasting him with a stiff headbutt, knocking Tom Lawlor down, with Lawlor rolling to the outside to regain himself. Broner followed him out there, however, and quickly went under the ring, grabbing a chair to aid him in his mission of causing even more punishment. Broner swung the chair, connecting with Tom’s back, sending the sound of steel smacking on flesh echoing throughout NOW Arena.
Lawlor ate another chair shot from Broner, causing him a great deal of pain, before Lawlor caught Broner with a shot to the gut with his knee, before ripping the chair from Broner’s hands, and nailing Broner in the ribs with it. Then Lawlor opened the chair up and placed it around Broner’s neck, pulling back on it and essentially using the chair to choke Isaiah Broner on the outside! This one was breaking down quick!
Broner managed to escape the chair, and collapse to his knees, holding his throat, but Lawlor followed up his assault by catching Broner with a kick to the back, the thud of Lawlor’s boot on Broner’s body able to be heard quite audibly. Broner fell down to his hands, clutching at his back, as Lawlor began to march around the ringside area, digging around for weapons. “You wanna play this hardcore bullshit?” Tom asked as he pulled a couple of chairs and doors out from under the ring, tossing them inside. “I’m better than you at that shit too.” Tom tossed the rest of the weapons into the ring, before going back and grabbing Broner, catching him with another forearm, before throwing him into the steel guardrail, full force! Broner collapsed to his knees again, clutching at his back, motherfuckin’ and sumbitchin’ in a great deal of pain. Tom hopped up onto the ring apron as he waited for Broner to get up, leading the crowd in his signature clapping cadence, before charging Broner and leaping off the apron, crashing down onto the The Problem with a Rolling Senton!
Lawlor pops back to his feet, clearly fired up, as he grabs Broner again and tosses him back into the ring. Broner crawled towards the middle of the ring, but he’s stopped by Lawlor, who traps him in a waist lock, trying to lift him up into a German Suplex, but Broner manages to fight out of it, before sliding out behind Lawlor, and grabbing one of the steel chairs. Broner tosses the chair, connecting with Lawlor in the head as Lawlor turns around, staggering the champion! Broner quickly grabs another chair, setting it up, before charging at Lawlor, jumping up onto him, and driving Lawlor’s head into the chair with a leaping DDT! Broner makes the cover!
1….2…Kickout!
Lawlor gets the shoulder up, retaining his title for the moment. Broner gets himself back to his feet and grabs at his kneepad, perching himself in the corner and waiting for Lawlor to start to stir. Once Lawlor gets himself up on his hands and knees, Broner charges at Lawlor, looking for the knee, but Lawlor dodges it, slips behind Broner, locks his hands around his waist, and sends Broner overhead with a huge German Suplex! Broner crashes right down on his neck and shoulders, as Lawlor quickly scrambles to Broner, trying to lock in a sleeper before Broner can even get situated. Broner manages to block it but Lawlor gets a headcrank on instead, directly putting pressure right on Broner’s skull and jaw. A hold like this can dislocate your jaw, and is extremely painful when applied by someone as powerful and as adept at submissions as Lawlor, and Broner was to quickly find a way out of it, or he could find himself out of this match in a hurry. Broner begins raining down fists on Lawlor’s kidneys, forcing Lawlor to break the hold, and allowing Broner to roll out of the ring, trying to stretch out his jaw as he does. Lawlor is quick to shake off the shots and follow Broner outside the ring, but as Lawlor goes after Broner, suddenly, Broner turns around and blasts Lawlor with a headbutt, staggering the former NJPW Strong Champion!
As Lawlor staggered backwards, Broner charged at him, but Lawlor, thinking quickly, caught Broner on the approach, before sending Broner overhead with an exploder suplex, right into the steel guardrail! Broner crashes right into the steel!
Lawlor rolls Broner back into the ring, looking for the cover, looking to retain his title!
1….2… Kickout!
This time it’s Isaiah Broner who stays alive, and Tom Lawlor huffs in a bit of frustration. Tom quickly got back to his feet and stays on the offensive, waiting for Broner to start to get up. As Broner pulled himself up to his knees, Tom blasted him in the chest with a stiff kick, the thud of which echoing throughout NOW Arena. Broner grimaced in pain, before spitting in Tom’s direction, telling him to “Bring it on, Motherfucker!” and in response, Tom caught him with another kick, which caused him to fall down to his hands, and press his forehead into the mat from the pain. Tom was known as a vicious striker, with perhaps some of the hardest kicks and chops in all of professional wrestling. Tom slipped behind Broner as he was still recovering, and lifted him up, before tossing him overhead with a deadlift German Suplex! Tom made another cover on Broner, bridging over!
1….2…. Kickout!
Broner manages to stay alive again, and Tom curses under his breath, wondering just what it was gonna take to put Broner away this evening. Broner was one of the toughest competitors in MPW, his championship resume along with the wars he’d been in spoke for themselves, and Lawlor would have to get creative if he wanted to put away The Problem. Lawlor gets back to his feet, and goes to grab at Broner again, when Broner starts to battle back with a series of shots to the gut of Lawlor. Broner manages to fight up back to his feet, and catch Lawlor with a few stiff shots to the head, staggering Tom as Broner sends him off the ropes, and on the rebound catches Tom in the gut with a Kitchen Sink, sending Tom head over heels and down to the mat, clutching his gut! Broner forgoes the theatrics this time, instead just charging right at Lawlor, blasting Tom in the head with a stiff knee shot right to the head! Broner floats over into the cover on Lawlor!
1….2… Kickout!
Tom just BARELY got the shoulder up there, still fighting. Broner was quick to get back to his feet, knowing he had to work quickly if he wanted to keep Lawlor down. Broner grabbed two of the chairs and set them up, before placing a door between them, creating a makeshift table. Broner then grabs Lawlor, dragging him into the corner, and up onto the top rope, before beginning to climb up himself. Lawlor suddenly comes to life, and tries to fight back, and the two begin to exchange strikes on the ropes, with the outcome of this strike exchange perhaps the most pivotal in deciding who would end up winning this match. Eventually, Broner begins trading in his fists for his own skull, bashing Lawlor with a series of headbutts, staggering Tom just enough to finish climbing up the ropes, lifting Tom, and putting Tom through the door with a massive top rope DDT! Broner shoves the pieces of door away, making the cover on Lawlor! This one might be over!
1…..2…. Kickout!
Lawlor kicks out, and as he does, he grabs Broner, locking him right into a rear naked choke! Lawlor caught Broner! Lawlor locked in the choke tight, trying to put Broner’s lights out!
Lawlor kept the hold on for a few moments, before releasing it and quickly transitioning to a standing position, lifting Broner up by his arms and catching him with several brutal, repeated knees to the head, wearing Broner down, before Lawlor lifts him all the way up and onto his shoulder, in Tombstone position. Isaiah Broner manages to slip out the back, and lock in a rear naked clutch in on Lawlor! Lawlor is struggling, but fading quickly, but Broner’s got him locked in tight!
Broner keeps trying to choke out Tom, when suddenly, from behind, Dom Garrini and Kevin Ku slide into the ring, Ku immediately going low on Isaiah Broner, forcing Broner to break the hold, as Dom hits the ropes, charges Broner, and takes him down with a knee to the face! Broner might be on dream street, and Tom takes advantage, scooping Broner onto his shoulder! Lawlor charges the chair and drops Broner, head first, onto the seat of it with an over-the-shoulder Tombstone Piledriver! Broner’s head is spiked into the steel! Lawlor makes the cover!
1….2….3!
“Here is your winner, Filthy Tom Lawlor!”
