hmm this is tough because ive gone through a truly wild number of Big Brain Interests in the past year or so, most influential things overall? the adventure zone definitely, dear evan hansen was also very big. the mechanisms definitely covers a large variety of my interests, and if you want to know who i am right now youd have to listen to skyjacks because thats my entire brain

i don’t super have favorite quotes that i remember because my brain is swiss cheese, but hmm. the entirety of the love song of j alfred proofrock does get to me, especially the ‘there will be time’ stanza and “Do I dare/Disturb the universe?”

im catching up with bnha, im like 29 chapters behind, so thats nothing, a breeze

its so intense though. skyjacks made me cry earlier today so my emotions are up, but i’ve now cried twice during this and frankly i’m amazed. i have always liked bnha, but im not super emotionally attached to it. I’m emotionally attached to all might, love him, love that dude. And I do like a bunch of the characters, but aside from All Might, I didn’t realise I would get so worked up about big situations involving other characters.

I think its because I hate older shounen anime teachers/mentors and the physical and/or mental abuse thats supposed to be teaching.

but bnha doesn’t have that (lmao except for grand torino, welcome to my grand torino hate blog), it has good teachers.

i always found the whole “Aizawa is like 1-A’s dad/Dadzawa” thing lazy characterisation and I do now, especially because what he is, is a spectacular teacher and mentor. A very different relationship then a parental one, and I think that, in a genre that has been bogged down with ‘comedic’ abusive mentors, Aizawa is an example of how to write one well. He’s so funny and he is so tough. Man.

Big feelings up in the house about teachers who care about their students.
