💗 - Is there a scene you can’t wait to write for a WIP?

oh god so many. but hmm... ok i mentioned the other wip that i've talked about before? so that's the dad ingo one, and i don't remember if i've said the whole pitch yet but: the protagonist fails the entry trial, so jubilife refuses to take them, and after getting juggled like a hot potato for a minute they wind up staying with ingo. and there's like a LOT of scenes i want to do for this one, it's just 99% domestic fluff but domestic fluff is one of my fav things to write esp. in a universe where i really like the setting and want to explore it. the only problem is it's kind of slow to get started in the beginning and i'm having trouble finding a way to get through the setup that isn't a huge slog.

as for a specific single scene... hmm... oh! ingo wants protag to have a pokemon because [gestures at highlands], but also feels like someone's first (starter) pokemon should be special somehow. so after some deliberation, he ends up giving her one of lady sneasler's kits as her first pokemon. i just think this is a very cute idea

Caretaker sat in the quiet hospital room, unwilling to move from their seat. Whumpee slept peacefully beneath the blanket, their soft breaths reassuring Caretaker that they were still alive.

Because Caretaker thought Whumpee had died. Between nearly suffocating Whumpee and Whumper's violent outburst, Caretaker had been sure that their rescuers would announce that Whumpee had died and there was nothing they could do.

But they didn't.

The cacophony of sounds as their rescuers rushed in and to their aid confused Caretaker. They couldn't understand. Why help them? They didn't deserve help. But as more rescuers rushed in and crowded around Whumpee, Caretaker realized Whumpee was still alive.

That had been the most relieving news they had heard.

And so Caretaker sat with Whumpee. They had refused to leave Whumpee's side once the doctors said that they would be fine. They didn't care about themself anyway. They only cared about Whumpee.

They had nearly killed Whumpee.

It had been all their fault. Between failing to rescue Whumpee, nearly suffocating Whumpee, and being able to stop Whumper from torturing, Caretaker nearly killed Whumpee. They would the spend the rest of their life begging Whumpee's forgiveness. Though they didn't deserve it.

Whumpee's fingers twitched in Caretaker's, their brow furrowing in pain. "It's ok, I'm here. I've got you. I'll get the nurse, you're going to be ok, Whumpee."

And just as quickly as the frown appeared on Whumpee's brow, it faded. Whumpee was ok. Whumpee was going to be ok. That was all that mattered.

I’ve got some prompt requests to work on first (Thank you for them!), but in honour of the PL Ultimate Queer Icon competition, I’m going to write some Melina Whistler propaganda. Poor Janice was knocked out of the running at Round 1 but Melina made it to Round 2, so here’s a snippet from the ‘Jalina Happy Ending AU’ as promised. If the eternal sapphic queen makes it to the next round, I’ll include the wedding:

Hi there! Just found out about your nsr submas AU and loved the vibes. I'm tired so I couldn't process everything but you said something like it would be fun if you had to do 20 battles to get to the subway bosses, and I thought it would be also a fun idea if those 20 battles were distributed along the game in case of the twins being an optional boss.

Like, bbj could go the long way to all the districts, or they could help subway boss Emmet power up the station and get there faster (+ more fans). With each visit to the stations Emmet would get stronger until he wasn't there at the moment but hey! his brother Ingo is here, maybe he can continue the challenge! And after the post game, if bbj helped fully power the station, the subway bosses would let bbj have a final battle with both of them (+ Elesa for extra spice).

This might be a little confusing, maybe later I'll send another ask less disorganized, have a nice day!

You're spot on with this. They're a (kinda) optional boss like DK west. When I say 'kinda' I mean you have to fight them (or at least Ingo) at least once to proceed onto probably Neon j / 1010. However you can go back to them.

I found the helicopter (that you can unlock with enough fans) a bit detached from the story so I thought it'd be easier to just connect the sewers to part of the train station and have that be the fast travel option.

And for the 20 battles idea I was thinking something like how the nsrtists have an approach level. Where you have to beat all the nsr security bots in order to get to the next section. ( as in you could do one section of the approach and then leave or continue. I don't exactly remember how the battle subway works but still along the lines of do an amount of battles to reach the bosses). This is only necessary to meet Ingo because it'd be mean to make someone do 20 fights to get to emmet and elesa after this (idk man).

It goes like this

- B2J fights 20 battles

- Theyre met with Subway Boss / Master Ingo

-They fight and (probably) win and slightly damage the train (ex- single line)

- they go back and can go fight 1010 now (and access some parts of the city via fast travel like djss and sayu)

-they go back to fight Emmet and Ingo (on seperate trains so one member of b2j fights one subway boss. Mayday fights Ingo and Zuke fights Emmet)

- B2J wins the fight and damages the trains then leave (they can now access yinu). For the time being Emmet and Ingo are seperated and have to fix the trains (and make sure passengers are okay)

- you can't exactly challenge them yet however you can challenge Volo (idk what his deal is yet he's just kind of there at the moment)

- the trains are fixed so now you can fight (on one train) Elesa, Emmet, and Ingo. Elesa was sent by EVE to dealn with this (considering the subway bosses slightly work under neon j, Elesa works under eve as a model)

-b2j wins and gets access to Neon j and Eve

This sort of timeline is a lot heavier do it kind of has to balance heavy and light because you're going from Yinu's heavy scene to 1010's funny and light hearted scene (if you dont think too hard)

But the alternative is what you suggested with a light hearted subway fight which also works very well!

Post game (if post game does exist really) you can fight them again (+ volo) for practice as well as help power both the station and the city (to ease the burden the NSRtists have)

Thinking about ambassador animals that act as teaching animals for certain species, combining that with the sanctuary, the idea of Nobles and Wardens (re: this post reply by @skullmuffet)

Ingo and Lady Sneasler are the only still existing pair that can be legitimately called a Warden and their Noble - and it's a very special case considering that Ingo was adopted into the culture. To apply that to anyone else, or Pokemon not descended from the blessed Noble bloodline, would be an insult to the indigenous Sinnoh Clans, particularly when so far from their land. They want to preserve their history, not appropriate it!

However, the Hisuin Pokemon can be given a Ambassador title! The one most suited for helping spread the history and importance of preserving life gets bequeathed the title of Ambassador - Lady Sneasler is technically the Ambassador for her kind, though is more often referred by her Noble status.

In the place of Wardens, you have the Envoy - the person who works closest with the Ambassador, helping them spread awareness while ensuring their needs are all met and documenting whatever data points they come across. Differing from Wardens and Nobles, they're basically bonded pairs, so if one retires, so does the other!

Dawn was originally considered to be possible Envoy for an Ambassador, but she turned it down on account of trying to find herself and not being comfortable with the position.

Isadore ends up being the Envoy for his Hisuin Voltorb (child of Dawn's Electrode), with the added bonus of being a descendant of Warden Melli.

Clay would also be a good choice as an Envoy, though I've yet to decide on whether for Kleavor or Goodra.

Depot Agent Cameron accidentally becomes the Envoy of Hisuin Lilligant, but excels at it all the same.

I think Skyla would be a good Envoy for Hisuin Braviary, especially since it's an Alpha (seeing as Dawn's is an Alpha) and thus on the bigger side~

They might reach out to any other known descendants of Wardens who might be willing to work as Envoys, though that might not work if they're Gym Leaders who can't exactly pick up and move! (Though if a sister sanctuary is built in Sinnoh....)

This leaves Ursaluna, Wyrdeer, Basculeigon, Hisuin Typhlosion, and whichever doesn't pair with Clay currently without Envoy.

And alas, no Celestica Flutes for these duo. Though they may have something similar to the Wardens bracelet thing like what Ingo has!

Caretaker's body was on fire. Everything hurt. Whumper had been relentless in their torture. Caretaker felt as though they were a giant bruise. But that didn't matter.

What mattered was that Whumpee still hadn't woken. Whumpee remained in the heap Whumper had left them in. Their snuffled staccato breaths through their broken nose were the only thing reassuring Caretaker that Whumpee was still alive.

"Why won't you wake?" Whumper sneered as they turned and stared at Whumpee.

Caretaker wanted to shout for Whumper to hurt them. Wanted to shout for Whumper to leave Whumpee alone. But they couldn't. Whatever drug Whumper had injected them with still flowed through their veins. Their voice was still gone. They still couldn't move.

"Wake the fuck up!" Whumper said with a growl as they kicked Whumpee hard. Whumpee's body rolled with the momentum. But Whumpee didn't make a sound. "This is so boring!" Whumper said as they kicked Whumpee several more times.

Caretaker wanted to scream. Blood poured from a wound above Whumpee's eyebrow. Whumper kicked Whumpee harder and harder. And Caretaker was powerless to stop them.
