A while back I designed what I think the true name sealing sigils looked like, and as a warm-up drawing I decided to digitalize one of my favorite sketches that features them. They're meant to resemble the heart, brain verticles and the liver, all of which are body parts that were once thought to house the soul

As a great SP fan I see references to it whenever possible, and tonight I've just finished watching Good Omens season 2, so this concept of a crossover appeared.

The locations where the action takes place are not so far from each other, so it's quite possible that some case makes Valkyrie go to England. And Crowley has those miraculous powers which can be mistaken for magic. So we meet an eyewitness of some crime, probably, something was stolen.

Smb: a guy... was right here... He just disappeared!

Valkyrie: Anything special about him?

Smb: He was wearing a suit and sunglasses.

*Valkyrie gets the wrong clue and runs to find the suspect*

*a few moments later, different location*

A tall skinny man was looking at the wall.

"Hey!" she shouted, panting.

"What do you want?" asked he lazily and turned around. Taller than Sanguine, spoke with English accent.

She frowned.

"You're not Sanguine."

"I'm definitely not." He was a redhead and short-tempered. "What. The Hell. Do. You. Want?"

Skulduggery B99 crossover nonsense

Alright I’ve done nothing but scroll through the tags of stuff I like so far, time to actually do the blogging part of this blogging website

So, I have this habit of thinking of elaborate crossover plotlines between everything I’m interested in. In-universe it’s all one continuous thing, but it’s very disjointed when I think of it because I usually just do one scenario and whatever would branch off of it at a time. It’s also framed as a D&D campaign, idk why, it doesn’t really affect how anything happens. Anyway, I will be talking about this crossover thing a LOT, it’s one of the main reasons I even joined this website because I know no one who likes all of the same things and therefore no one who would understand what I’m talking about. There, long opening ramble done.

Right now, the three biggest things for me are Borderlands 3, Psychonauts, and Skulduggery Pleasant

There could be some really interesting parallels between a lot of these characters. Raz, a 10 year old who saved the world multiple times and picked up psychic abilities very quickly, even though he’s definitely too young to be doing so; Valkyrie, an adult who was 12 when she started learning magic and saved the world pretty much annually for, what? 7-ish years? Sasha, a highly skilled psychic secret agent who is perfectly happy to teach Raz how to shoot lasers at will, and was very easily convinced to do some probably-not-safe experiments with him; Skulduggery, a highly skilled sorcerer detective who was perfectly happy to start teaching Valkyrie how to summon flames and displace air at will, and took basically no convincing to bring her along to fight one of the most dangerous people in the country, probably also the world.

Not to mention the parallels that Tanith alone could bring. She was in love with Ghastly for a while, but neither of them confessed in time, and when they finally planned a first date, she got possessed for years and came back to find out he had died while she was gone. Compare that to Sasha and Milla, who are very obviously in love yet will not confess.

Also, this one’s more of a stretch but still there and could still lead to some funny interactions, Tanith and Sanguine compared to Hammerlock and Wainwright. “Brit who fights monsters for a living and man in a brown suit with a strong southern American accent”, but it’s more like looking in a warped mirror than a true parallel. Tanith and Sanguine were only together while Tanith was literally possessed by a being of pure hatred who only wanted the world to end and she hated him at all other times, need I say more?

Anyway.

I want to see interactions between a lot of these characters. What happens if Sasha meets a well-dressed skeleton? What conversations would they have? “How are you uh..” “Walking around? Necromancy. Anyway-“ What about an interaction between Oleander, the guy with heavy trauma related to bunnies who idolises the military, and Tina, the girl who constantly wears a bunny mask and has killed countless people in and out of warfare with little to no remorse?

What if everyone is pulled out of their own worlds and thrown together, forced to work together to somehow find a way home? Maybe spirits are low and no one’s sure what’s going to happen. Maybe Sir Hammerlock decides to start telling a story about some huge monster that he hunted - altered to be less scary and more light-hearted because there’s at least one child present and everyone likes a fun story. Maybe Skulduggery shares a story of his own later, about a comically incompetent bad guy and how he saved the day.

One thing is for certain though: Sasha Nein is the only person to actively find and start a long conversation with Claptrap. He’s way too interested in the idea of a fully sapient robot to be annoyed.

I’ll share some of the more plot-like ideas another time but, yeah. Huge crossover. It lives in my head rent free.

The Don't Starve/Skulduggery Pleasant crossover still lives rent free in my head

I am writing a ridiculous Skulduggery Pleasant & Artemis fowl crossover and no-one can stop me.

From June 9, 2019 to September 23, 2023 I posted something new to my Ao3 account at least once a week, every week (allowing for some deviation between weekend/weekday posting in the early days). From January 25, 2020, I’ve had an update every single Saturday. In total, this has amounted to 219 weeks of content, 299 individual updates, and 204 unique stories (approximately - I think I miscounted somewhere in there).

4 years, 3 months of weekly posting. 3 years, 8 months of Saturday stories.

I’m very glad I’m taking a break, because finding time to post every Saturday has been getting difficult, but it still feels very weird to not be posting something today.

Anyway, I’m very proud of how much I’ve created over the last few years, so I wanted to do a bit of a statistics breakdown because I’m a sucker for hard data:

Per Ao3 sorting here, I’ve posted… 209 stories. Yeah I definitely miscounted. Anyway.

Approximately 819,000.

Which equals about 530 words written per day.

My average story length was about 3,919 words.

If you take the 6 longfics out of that math, the average drops down to 2,623.

2020 had the highest per-year wordcount, at 236,485.

The highest wordcount for a single story was 57,758 for A Matter of Diplomacy.

The lowest wordcount was only 215 for Best Wishes.

You could fit 268.6 Best Wishes into 1 AMoD.

Random:

40 of the oneshots were posted as direct, week-of reactions to TMA S5 episodes, encompassing 19.14% of the total fics.

30 of the oneshots were for the Castaways series, for 14.35% of the total fics.

The 203 TMA fics are 97.13% of the total.

Jonathan "Jon" Sims | The Archivist was in slightly more stories (189) than Martin Blackwood (186), but significantly more stories than the next-most common characters, Tim Stoker (32) and Sasha James (26).

Martin Blackwood/Jonathan "Jon" Sims | The Archivist was, unsurprisingly, the most common relationship, at 94.26% of the total (197 fics).

My ten most common tags were, in order: Episode Related (65), Fluff (53), Post-Canon (42), Short (41), Post-Episode: e200 Last Words (39), Location: Somewhere Else (29), Canon Asexual Character (27), Season/Series 01 (22), First Kiss (19), and Happy Ending (14), which says a lot about the type of story I like to write and also that I really like tagging when and where things are set.

Might I recommend the ‘Skulduggery Pleasant’ book series then (the original nine-book series, that is, not its sequel series); it has a very similar Reflectjon storyline to that of Tulip and Lake, only a much more tragic one (in the sense one can see how a character could choose to be better, but decided not to).

Yes absolutely!!! I really struggle with reading books because I need to do things with my hands, so I might try to find an audiobook version of it.

Will this make me cry. Also, skeletons seem to be a huge theme on the covers... Are there ghosts. Is someone DEAD?

Do you think it'd make for a good crossover type of au? Or is it just because I seem so interested in book two? I tend to have an affinity to characters that aren't quite human.
