Scars to You’re Beautiful
For @tobeabetterhuman and @skimmonssecretsanta
A/N: Skye is ready to take their relationship further, but Jemma's afriad of what Skye will think when she sees what Jemma has been hiding under her long sleeves. Warnings for past self-harm and scars.
Words: ~2300
Read on Ao3
They shouldn’t be doing this, oh my god, they should not be doing this.
But Jemma can’t seem to stop.
Skye hooks her hands around Jemma’s thighs and hikes her up easily. Her legs lock around Skye’s middle and she takes advantage of the new height to kiss her with even more vigor.
“We’re supposed to be - pretending to be - servers - “ Jemma says breathlessly when Skye’s tongue isn’t in her mouth.
“They have plenty of those,” Skye says, brushing Jemma’s hair back behind her ear.
She catches Jemma’s bottom lip between her teeth and Jemma gives a small squeal. Her fingers tangle in Skye’s hair and Skye’s hand slides along the curves of her torso down to her ass. The scent of Skye’s vanilla lemon shampoo is filling her whole body and her muscles ripple under Jemma’s palms and god she never wants to leave this stockroom.
The door swings open with a bang. Skye bites Jemma’s lip much harder than she meant to. They’re on the other side of a shelving unit, so they have a few seconds to compose themselves, Jemma almost leaping out of Skye’s arms, Skye brushing her hair back into place, tugging her shirt straight.
“Hello Agent May,” Jemma squeaks, leaning around Skye with a painfully guilty expression on her face.
Skye groans inwardly as she turns around.
“You’re supposed to be on the floor,” May says, arms crossed. “Watching for any suspicious activity.”
“We thought there was - uh - some suspicious activity back here,” Skye says. “Just… trying to be thorough.”
May’s stony expression does not change. Jemma shrinks behind Skye a little.
Skye swings her arms back and forth. “Right, well, guess it all checks out, huh Simmons?”
“Yes, nothing suspicious to note,” Jemma chips in.
“So we’ll just…” Skye grabs Jemma’s elbow and the two of them squeeze hastily past May to resume their posts.
“They’re going to stop putting us on ops together,” Jemma hisses as she fits her comms unit back into her ear.
“Nah, we make too good of a team,” Skye says breezily, scooping up a platter of drinks and preparing to re-enter the festivities. “It’s probably a good thing May interrupted us though,” she adds, turning back to Jemma with a sly expression. “I had more romantic plans than a pantry for our first time.”

Since Jemma can’t go home for the holidays, Daisy tries to bring the holidays to Jemma.
for the lovely, @buckysbears! Happy Holidays! I hope you have a wonderific holiday season and an awesometastic new year!
Daisy doesn’t actually plan on becoming Jemma’s Secret Hanukkah Present Giver, or whatever you call the Jewish equivalent of Secret Santa.
She’d been walking to Jemma’s room to ask her if she’d like to see a movie that Daisy had just downloaded, since they were having an odd lull of days with no actively dangerous missions, just the regular information gathering and artifact collecting.
It’s been pretty quiet, but Daisy is pretty sure that they’re in the eye of the storm.
She’s about to knock on the door to Jemma’s room when she hears her speaking in a language that Daisy doesn’t understand.
Daisy cracks the door open a little bit and peers inside.
Jemma is kneeling in front of her desk. On top of the desk, at the forefront, her laptop and a pile of books pushed further back, is a menorah with the candle in the middle lit.
As Daisy watches, Jemma finishes her prayer, and picks up the lit candle and lights the first candle before putting it back in the middle.
Daisy steps away and turns to walk towards her room.
It wasn’t that she’d forgotten that Jemma was Jewish. It was just that it wasn’t the first thing that she thought about when she thought about Jemma.
She realizes with a pang that that’s probably what Jemma had been looking so down about. She wasn’t going to be able to spend the holidays with her family.
Daisy decides that she needs to do something and closes the media player window and opens her browser. She googles things to do for Hanukkah, gets more than a million results, and ends up using Wikipedia for information, like usual.
Daisy reads through the information, and really doesn’t want to overstep her boundaries. She’s not Jewish, and she doesn’t know if Jemma would appreciate it if Daisy joined her for lighting the candles when she doesn’t really know anything about it.
Daisy decides that the least offensive way that she can go about this would be to just give Jemma a present for every day of Hanukkah.
Eight days of presents, maybe she should convert to Judaism, she muses.
But that’s a thought for another day.
Today is the first day, meaning that Daisy is a little bit behind, but that’s nothing a little shopping can’t fix.
It’s lucky that the Bus was down for fueling and monthly maintenance before they headed to Spain to investigate a supposedly 0-8-4 sighting.
Daisy grabs her wallet and shoots off a text message to let Coulson know that she’s off the Bus, less they leave without her, which would be bad.
It doesn’t take her too long to find a store that suits her needs.
She manages to buy enough presents and gets ideas for others that she can make back at the Bus. The Hanukkah decorations that are in the clearance bin, she takes on a whim and all in all it’s not too expensive.
She gets back on the Bus, and has to dodge Trip’s hands as he tries to see what it is she bought when he asks her what it was and she tells him that it’s none of his business.
Fitz, of course, glimpses the Hanukkah decorations and seems to put everything together if the look on his face is any indication.
She shakes her head in his direction sharply and he rolls his eyes, but manages to distract Trip so she guesses that she owes him one.
Daisy stuffs everything in one of the free drawers in her room, and takes out the present she’d been planning on giving Jemma for Christmas out.
She rewraps the present using the Hanukkah themed wrapping paper she’d found at the store.
She’d gotten Jemma a shirt that said, Girls Can Do Anything and a small bag of Hershey’s kisses she’d actually bought for herself but never actually opened.
She gets everything ready and goes to Jemma’s room once more.
The door is left open, but Jemma is nowhere to be found.
Daisy sees that the bag of toiletries is missing from on top of Jemma’s dresser.
The candles are turned off, probably because Jemma doesn’t want to cause a fire hazard.
Daisy walks into the room and puts the present right next to the menorah, fingers finding the cool metal design and rubbing against the polished silver.
She smiles a little, and nods her head to herself, before she leaves.
The next morning Daisy watches Jemma for any hint that she opened her gift, but she doesn’t get one until after lunch when she wanders down to the labs and Jemma offers her a kiss.
Daisy opens her mouth to tell her that she’s the one who got them for her, but her gaze falls on Fitz who’s watching them with a knowing look on his face.
Daisy doesn’t say anything and takes the kiss out of Jemma’s hand saying thank you, and then fleeing the premises.
She’ll tell her tomorrow when she gives her the second present, Daisy decides.
*
Two days pass and Daisy still hasn’t told Jemma anything.
She’d gotten Jemma a small plastic dreidel and a small bag of gelts for the second day. Jemma had spent an hour after dinner, playing with Fitz and Mack.
The third day it was a book full of notes that came from the desk of Marie Curie that Daisy had been saving to give Jemma on her birthday.
Jemma had been really excited about that one, and Daisy had had the perfect chance to tell her that she was the one who’d been leaving her presents, but once again she kept her mouth shut.
She didn’t know why, but there was something about the way that Jemma’s face lit up when she showed Daisy her present that made her reluctant to tell her that she’d already seen the gift because she’d been the one to purchase it.
*
For the fourth day, Daisy had tried her hand at cooking.
Of course, she’d burnt the first batch of latkes something fierce. The smell had been overwhelming and Coulson had lectured her about experimenting in the kitchen when they all shared it.
It was lucky that Jemma had been out for the whole fiasco.
The last batch of latkes came out like the picture and Daisy had set it perfectly on a tray, and had left them in the lab, smacking Fitz hand away when he’d reached for one.
“These are Jemma’s,” she tells him seriously.
Fitz just rolls his eyes, but he doesn’t tell Jemma where they came from no matter how many times she asks.
*
For day five, Daisy goes for something a little more personal.
All the other gifts, while tailored for Jemma, weren’t really personal to Daisy.
For the fifth gift, Daisy made a mix tape of all of the songs that made her think about Jemma.
Yeah it was cheesy, and yeah, obviously the songs were romantic because Daisy was head over heels for Jemma and pining away in silence.
But she’d been doing that since she’d met Jemma, so it wasn’t something that really bothered her anymore.
It simmered in the background, and sometimes in the foreground when she thought, maybe, maybe, just maybe, but there was always (always) something that held her back.
If Daisy was being honest with herself, the mix tape wasn’t something that she’d give to Jemma if Jemma knew that she was the one leaving her the presents, but anonymity had its perks in this regard.
Of course, Jemma made everything more difficult by acting weird all day after Daisy had left her the USB full of songs, but she smiled at Daisy when Daisy had come to get her to eat lunch, and like it always it made Daisy’s heart flip.
She’d absently, started humming on the way up to the kitchens, and Jemma stopped her.
She looks over at her questioningly, “How do you know that song?”
Daisy’s brow furrows, “It’s one of my favorite songs.”
And then she remembers that it’s one of the songs she’d put on the mix tape.
Jemma just nods her head slowly, but she doesn’t accuse Daisy of anything, which simultaneously makes Daisy’s heart race and fall.
*
Daisy gets the idea for the sixth present from hearing Fitz and Jemma talk about a band that Jemma loves and wishes she’d get to see perform live, but obviously she can’t because she never knows until too late if she has enough time to actually go see them.
Daisy buys the tickets last minute, and they cost an arm and a leg, but it’s worth it to see the smile on Jemma’s face when she rushes down to the lab to tell Fitz excitedly about her new present.
She turns her happy smile to Daisy and lifts up the tickets.
“Come with me!” she says bouncing away from Fitz and towards her. “It’ll be awesome!”
“What about Fitz?” she asks because that’s who she’d intended the second ticket to be for as a bribe of sorts and a thank you for not saying anything.
“Fitz hates this band, and besides, we haven’t gone out in ages, just the two of us.”
She keeps looking at Daisy pleadingly, and Daisy relents almost immediately.
“Because that wasn’t the plan all along,” Fitz mutters under his breath.
He’s lucky that he’s too far away for Daisy to kick.
The concert is wild and crazy, and Daisy yells along to songs she doesn’t know, and holds her hands up in the air, and Jemma screams along with her, and dances with her hands in the air thoroughly enjoying herself.
Her joy is infectious, and by the time they make it out of the concert hall, they’re both buzzing.
Jemma stops them before they go into the van to take them back to the Bus, and sways into Daisy, pressing their sweaty foreheads together. Daisy’s hands raise, and she swiftly tangles her fingers into her hair to stop herself from touching Jemma.
Jemma doesn’t seem to notice anything wrong.
She hums happily and wiggles a little bit before opening her eyes and smiling at Daisy from a close distance.
“Thank you for coming with me,” she whispers low. “I had an awesome time.”
“Me too,” Daisy says slowly. “And anytime.”
Jemma smiles brightly, and then pulls away getting into the passenger seat of the car.
Daisy gets her breathing under control and then gets into the driver’s seat, glad that she’ll have something to distract her from what just happened.
*
Daisy doesn’t see Jemma’s reaction to the seventh present until the eighth day.
And it’s not even a reaction.
Daisy was sitting down with a mug of coffee in her hands, scrolling through the news on her tablet.
Jemma stumbles into the kitchen and then back out and drops down besides Daisy on the couch, kicking her feet up on the table and leaning heavily on Daisy’s shoulder.
Daisy’s heart stops in her chest making it very difficult to breath, but she relaxes soon enough and takes another sip of her coffee.
She doesn’t really notice that anything is off until Trip sits down across from her with a shit eating grin on his face.
Daisy gives him a narrowed eyes look, and finally snaps, “What?”
He just shakes his head before his eyes drop obviously to her lap and back up.
Daisy looks down and flushes pink.
She didn’t even notice that Jemma had been wearing the pajama pants and also the shirt she’d gotten her.
The shirt wasn’t Trip’s cause for amusement, it was the pants, which were a perfectly matched pair to Daisy’s pajama pants.
In her defense, they were extremely comfortable, and Daisy had bought like fifteen pairs in five different colors.
Daisy glares at him, but Trip still looks too amused.
Daisy makes a quick retreat before Jemma notices that they’re wearing the same pants.
Not that she thinks Jemma would notice, she hasn’t noticed that Daisy is the one leaving her presents even though Daisy feels like she’s really obvious, and the not so subtle hints Fitz has been dropping.
Jemma is super smart, but for some things she can be really dumb.
*
On the eighth day Daisy throws Jemma a little party. Partially because she’d gotten all these decorations, and partially because it’s the best way to show her that she’s the one who’s been leaving Jemma presents for the past couple of days.
Jemma’s eyes are bright when she spots Daisy, and her mouth drops open when she takes in everything else.
She doesn’t say anything, eyes wide in shock.
Daisy starts babbling, because being around Fitz too much always does that to her.
“I even rented a movie for us to watch,” Daisy says holding it up fingers covering the obvious typo. “Eight Nights of Hanukkah. I figured we could eat and watch it, but it’s probably not something that you want to do, given the fact that you haven’t really said anything since you walked in here. This was a really bad idea, just forget everything. You can keep the food and the gifts, I’m going to go jump out of a window and into the ocean.”
“We’re not even flying over the ocean right now,” Jemma says eyes opened wide.
Daisy just looks at Jemma incredulously. “That wasn’t the point of all of that.”
“I got that, you were just spiraling and it was the first thing that I thought of.”
“Okay,” Daisy says and licks her lips. “Well, I’m going now. Goodbye.”
“Wait!” Jemma says and stops Daisy from leaving. “Just, wait.”
Jemma takes a deep breath and gives Daisy and inordinately fond look.
“Thank you,” she says, emotions clouding her voice. “This past week has been amazing really. I was feeling all out of sorts because I wasn’t going to be with my family, and you made me feel better. So, thank you, so much.”
Jemma finishes her little speech by pulling Daisy into a hug.
Daisy hugs her back and feels relieved that she didn’t ruin everything.
“But you should know that Eight Nights of Hanukkah is a porn movie,” Jemma says laughter coloring her voice.
Daisy groans, “That would explain why Fitz burst out laughing when I told him my plans for tonight. And what I thought was a typo on the cover.”
Jemma laughs and Daisy smiles into her shoulder.
“Come on,” Daisy says pulling away. “Let’s eat.”
She holds out her hand, and smiles widely when Jemma takes it, threading their fingers together and letting Daisy tug her over to where she’s set up a small table full of snacks and drinks.
They eat and watch the movie that Daisy had downloaded before that had basically started this whole thing.
It isn’t until halfway through the movie, that Jemma makes a little huffing noise, and Daisy turns to her to see her looking up at the ceiling.
Daisy follows her gaze, and sees the sprig of mistletoe taped underneath one of the D.W.A.R.F.s.
“Fitz,” she hisses glaring at the camera in the corner of the room.
Jemma giggles delightedly, and just leans forward and presses a kiss to Daisy’s cheek.
Daisy looks over to Jemma, and sees the pleasant flush across her cheeks, and the way that she’s smiling happily, and how bright her eyes look, and honestly, Daisy is only human.
She reaches over and presses her fingers to Jemma’s cheek.
Jemma gives her a bashful look, and ducks her head down.
Daisy lifts her head up and hesitates only briefly before she’s leaning over and pressing a soft kiss to Jemma’s lip.
Jemma inhales sharply, and when Daisy pulls back, she whispers, “Finally.”

ten moments of a lifetime.
This is my skimmons secret santa present for @pizza-is-my-buziness
Its 10 moments of Jemma and Daisy’s relationship.
Please enjoy and merry christmas.
1.
The first time you see her she’s a mess.
She’s just dropped an entire carton of milk on the floor and her face is a picture of shock.
That is until she catches your eye.
She gives you a bashful smile and a small shrug of the shoulders, before she’s off to get the mop.
You’re left with your heart beating a little faster and butterflies in your stomach.
You put it down to the shock of the loud noise.
2.
You end up back there the next day.
She’s behind the counter looking like she’d rather be anywhere else.
Her eyes brighten when they land on you.
You’re not sure why. You’ve only been in once before.
“What can I get you cutie?”
She’s a bit full on but it makes you blush all the same.
“Tea, please.”
“Can I take a name? Or shall I just put cutie?”
You shake your head and try to keep the smile off your face. You don’t want to spur her on.
“Jemma is fine.”
She nods and writes it on the cup.
3.
You’re just looking at her.
Jemma.
She’s typing on her laptop, her tongue peeking out from between her lips in concentration.
She’s cute. But you’re sure she doesn’t think that about herself.
4.
She comes in the shop for what is the 4th time this week.
Not that you’re counting.
She swipes her hair behind her ears and gives you that shy smile she always directs at you.
And it’s at that moment you decided to be brave.
“So is today the day I finally get your number?”
She grins.
“Daisy, all you had to do was ask.”
And that’s it. That’s how you get a cute girls number.
You simply ask.
And you’re left wondering why you hadn’t done it before.
5.
Does this mean I get to see you somewhere besides the coffee shop?
That makes you smile.
So a date?
If you want it to be cutie.
Of course you want a date with Daisy. You’re just scared because you don’t do this dating often.
Meaning never.
You’ve always been to busy focusing on work and wondering if you’re actually built for this dating thing.
Though we can go as slow as you want.
You realise you haven’t text back and she’s probably jumping to conclusions.
A date it is.
6.
You’re pacing outside the bar.
You’re nervous.
But when you see her, all that melts away.
You feel excited.
She smiles and waves.
She looks gorgeous as always wearing ripped black jeans and a plaid shirt.
She greets you with a hug and it’s in that moment you realise you were built for this dating thing.
It was just about meeting the right person.
7.
“Babe, come and help me decorate this thing.”
She shouts at you from the room.
You smile.
She’s excited about this Christmas thing. She told you that growing up Christmas was never that big of a deal. She never got to celebrate it. She was never with one family long enough to celebrate it.
So she loves this holiday now. And you’ve made it your sole purpose to make sure she has as much fun as possible.
That includes decorating a giant Christmas tree with as many decorations as you can fit on it.
You watch Daisy look at the Christmas tree in awe and you realise that maybe, just maybe, you could be falling in love with the cute barista girl.
8.
You realise Jemma isn’t as excited for Christmas as you are, but she’s indulging you all the same.
She lets you decorate her flat and then she helps you decorate yours.
Bobbi laughs at the pair of you.
She laughs when she see you put up as many decorations as you can while pulling Jemma behind you.
She’s not as excited for Christmas as you are.
She’s just indulging you.
And you love her for it.
8.
There is a few of you for Christmas.
There is you and Bobbi and Mack and Hunter as always. But this year Jemma is there. Which means her best friend Fitz is there.
It’s a day full of turkey and chocolate and laughter and love.
And you have to admit that it’s probably one of your favourite Christmas ever. And you probably have Jemma to thank for that.
She smiles at you from the sofa as you stand back, it’s that cute shy smile of hers that you’ve come to adore.
9.
This is the best Christmas you’ve had in a long time.
Normally Christmas is just you and Fitz. But this year there is more of you. And while you do like your christmases with you let best friend, this year just felt like more.
This year felt like Christmas and you believe you only have Daisy to thank for that.
10.
“It’s not much. And I know that really being your girlfriend I should have got you a bigger gift, but-“
You cut Jemma off as she rambles.
“Babe, I’m sure I’ll love it.”
She gives you a box. It feels heavy and you feel the excitement rise in your stomach. You love receiving gifts. You know it’s because you never received any when you were young so any gift you get now is special.
When you open it up it’s a snow globe. A snow globe with Big Ben at the centre of it. Your name and Jemma is written in script at the front of it. But there is a date on it as well. A 2018 date on it.
You point to it, you must be pulling a confused face because Jemma clarifies.
“That’s the day we fly to London.”
You almost drop the snow globe in shock.
You’re sure now, now you’re definitely and undeniably in love with Jemma.

Daisy smiles at the little girl still staring longingly into the case. “Which one do you think my friend wants?”
Jemma smiles faintly at the terminology, though there’s a part of her that wishes that Daisy had used a different word to describe her.
So what if Bobbi had been right about the real reason for her daily visits? So what? A woman has the right to pine away in peace while eating a cupcake she doesn’t even really want, doesn’t she?
Happy Skimmons Secret Santa Day! This fic is for the wonderful and amazing @reachedthebitterend who I was lucky enough to be able to write for this year! Darling, what would the Skimmons fandom do without you?! You are fabulous and I can only hope that you enjoy this fic. For some reason I really fixated on the “cupcakes” part of your letter so...enjoy some cupcakes with a dash of pining and a hint of saving the day. Happy holidays!

merry christmas eve!
To: @strangelypensieve Hello! I hope that you like this fic, I took it from a Christmas prompt and I hope this is fluffy enough for you! And hey, we have been following each other for some times, so I'm glad I'm writing to a follower I know :) Merry Christmas, and if you're not celebrating Christmas, let me say, Happy Holidays!
“I get caught with one of my friends under the mistletoe and you literally sprint from across the room to shove them out of the way and take their spot” AU
Daisy takes a sip from her eggnog and look all around the base, there are happy faces everywhere. Most of the people gather at the base to have a small Christmas celebration and there are happy faces everywhere. There is one particular face that she has been looking for the entire time but she is not there. Daisy huffs and takes another sip off her eggnog. She is kind of excited to spend Christmas with the team since they are making some “Secret Santa” event and she got Jemma’s name and she had prepared a special gift for Jemma. They have been through hard times these year and Daisy feels Jemma deserve some happiness. So she has prepared a day full of activities for them and in the end of the day Daisy plans to tell Jemma about her feelings for the past 4 years. Daisy is nervous but excited at the same time, so she keeps looking for Jemma and it turns out Jemma is not there.
“Hey everything alright, Tremors?” Mack nudges her and Daisy realizes she has been spacing out.
“Everything’s great Mack, at last we got some peace and quiet,” Daisy replies.
“Ah yeah, that’s right, it means you can get your some of your own peace and quiet,” Yo-Yo suddenly appears between them, winking to Daisy.
“Wait, since when are you here? And what do you mean?” Daisy crinkles her eyebrows.
Yo-Yo smirks at Daisy, “I see that worried face you make looking for Simmons, and don’t forget that I’m fast, I know things you are too slow to know,” she grins as Mack puts his arm around her and chuckles.
“Forget it you guys,” Daisy shakes her head, “it might not happen,”
“Stop saying that. Everyone knows about you two,” Yo-Yo says as she sips her beer.
“What? Nothing happened between us,” Daisy shrugs but she looks a bit surprised. Mack then smiles, shaking his head, “Tremors, if you could just see the way she looks at you and you look at her, you two are meant for each other, I’m not being a cliché but knowing your history, damn, I don’t even know how you two are not together by now,” Mack pats Daisy’s shoulder. Yo-Yo grins and punches Daisy’s shoulder playfully because Daisy is starting to blush.
The encouragement from Yo-Yo and Mack are helping Daisy to be braver in telling Jemma her feelings. She smiles a little and she walks around the room to chat with other operatives, getting to know the people outside the team. Right when Daisy is talking with Agent Koenig, she spots Jemma entering the room from the corner of her eyes and she is talking with Bobbi, her eyes so bright and full of expectations. Daisy bet they are talking about some biological development on the alien organism from Maveth. Daisy wants to directly go to Jemma and just talk with her, hearing about newest development of some organisms or newest chemical toxin from aliens, she doesn’t care as long as she can watches Jemma talk about things she’s passionate about. However, Agent Koenig doesn’t seem to catch that Daisy has lose interest and he keeps on ranting about his twins and their Christmas family traditions. Daisy tries her best to nod and smile at what Agent Koenig says and then she looks that Jemma and Bobbi are approaching some mistletoes that hanged over the ceiling of the base. Daisy panics, seeing that Jemma is blushing at what Bobbi says and Bobbi putting her arms around Jemma. No, she can’t let that happen. She interrupts Agent Koenig, “Sorry Bill, I think I need to pee, had to much eggnog, catch you later bye!” Daisy starts to sprint, finding her way through the people gathering in the room. Jemma and Bobbi are almost at the mistletoe and they have not realized it, Daisy hopes that they won’t so they don’t have to kiss. Sure, it’s a tradition, but who knows if both parties enjoy it right?
Daisy runs as fast as she can, trying not to knock out the champagne glasses or people that are scattered around the room, laughing and talking with each other. She dodges Coulson that is talking to May, causing them both to shake their heads looking at Daisy sprinting around the room. Daisy can hear Yo-Yo shouts, “RUN, DAISY RUN!” at her, she chuckles and she will actually give Yo-Yo credits for her Flash reference, but now what matters most is stopping Jemma and Bobbi from kissing under the mistletoe.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, Jemma feels very happy since she can talk with a person who actually understands new topics she has been dying to talk about. She beams at what Bobbi says and it turns out that they both have the same opinion about certain things regarding xenophobia. She doesn’t realize it but then Bobbi stops suddenly to tie her shoelace, Jemma immediately bumps toward Bobbi, but Bobbi is fast enough to keep them both from falling down.
“Sorry,” Bobbi says, “ shouldn’t have told you I’m tying my shoelace, we got so caught up on these new policies,”
“It’s quite alright Bobbi,” Jemma grins, “I’m just happy that at last there is someone I can talk to about this that seriously understands and can give more opinions about it,” she continues, “not that I’m complaining about my audience,” she trails off.
“Hmm, Simmons,” Bobbi raises her eyebrows, “I think I know who would like to listen to your crazy rants but did not understand a thing you said,” she bursts out laughing.
“What? How? I am not implying to a certain person,” Jemma blushes, her nose scrunching.
“I think everybody knows, Simmons,” Bobbi winks.
“About what?” Jemma tilts her head slightly.
“Your so-not-little crush toward Daisy,” she smirks triumphantly at Jemma and Jemma blushes very hard until the tips of her ears are also red.
“No,” Jemma responds, “i-it’s not, w-wait, I-I don’t know!” she waves her hand frantically.
“Okay here, let me tell you, I think she really likes you, for these past years I ‘ve seen the way you look at her, and hell, when I heard the story about you two being the last one remaining against the LMDs, and how she swore to get you out of this place,” Bobbi continues, “it is fucking crazy and I think she loves you, Simmons,”
Jemma’s jaw drops as she processes what Bobbi says, thinking that she misheard what Bobbi says she shakes her head and she is only able to get out a word, “What?!”
“Urgh, you’re so dense for a person who have god knows how much PhDs! I’ll just show you,” Bobbi takes a few step and Jemma follows her, and then Bobbi looks up, Jemma also looks up.
“Okay…?” Jemma looks at Bobbi awkwardly.
“Mistletoe means we should kiss right? It’s the tradition?” Bobbi dares her, her eyes are mischievous.
Jemma is super-confused but she just goes with it, “Y-yes, sure,”
When Bobbi starts to pull her closer suddenly Bobbi is shoves off her spot and Daisy is in front of her. Her eyes expecting and she is breathless, catching her breath in between grasping Jemma’s hand. “Mistletoe!” Daisy exclaims. Jemma then smiles giddily, cupping Daisy’s face, leaning in and pressing her lips toward Daisy’s. The kiss lasted for a while, Jemma does not know how long but she just feel that it is perfect, and she does not care if the whole base is directing their eyes toward them, she got Daisy holding her, their lips connecting with each other. They pull apart and Daisy looks at her with a soft smile and red cheeks, then she turns toward Bobbi and offers her a hand to pull her up, “Sorry, but it’s my spot,” she grins cheekily toward Bobbi. Bobbi takes her hand and gives her a fist bump, “You owe me one, Johnson!” Daisy just laughs as she drags Jemma’s hand to move to a more private place. Yo-Yo and Mack raises a glass toward Daisy, Coulson and May smile contently looking at them, Fitz is in the corner of the room giving them thumbs up.
“So…” Jemma starts to speak as soon as they get to a more private place.
“So…” Daisy answers, pulling Jemma closer to her, “do I need more mistletoe to kiss you, or what?”
Jemma blushes, “I don’t think so,” she answers confidently, grinning as Daisy kisses her again, then Jemma pulls apart and says, “It’s not like I was the one who sprints across the room to kiss somebody right?”
It is now Daisy’s turn to blush and she smiles sheepishly, “I thought I can wait ‘til I give you your Secret Santa present, but after all the things happening I just don’t think I should wait, I love you Jemma,” she says sincerely, “I have been in love with you since I see you on the first day I was transferred to the Bus, and I never stopped, the problem is I have been too much of a coward not to tell you,”
“Daisy, you do not know how many nights I’ve wished you say that to me,” she feels her eyes watering, “I love you too, Daisy,”
They pull apart to catch a breath and Daisy takes out her present and gives it to Jemma, “Merry Christmas, Jemma” she smiles sweetly, kissing Jemma’s forehead.
Jemma caress Daisy’s cheek as she leans in to give a peck toward Daisy, “Merry Christmas too, Daisy” then she continues, “By the way, did you quake Bobbi a little while trying to shove her?” she asks curiously.
“Well, hey, I’m not The Flash! I am not that fast!” Daisy sticks out her tongue and intertwines their finger together. Jemma laughs at Daisy’s response and guiding her back to the room to celebrate the ‘proper Christmas event’ until the end. They both walk hand in hand to the room with a big smile, beaming at each other. For now, they are happy and content.

a beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight - A Skimmons Fanfic
Characters: Daisy Johnson, Jemma Simmons
Relationship(s): Daisy Johnson x Jemma Simmons
Rating: Gen
Summary: Daisy plans a winter-themed date for Jemma with a special gift to happen at some point.
Tags: Established relationship, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Fluff
For @freaoscanlin from your Skimmons Secret Santa! I hope you enjoy this fanfic as much as I enjoyed writing it!
[READ ON AO3]
Jemma sits at her desk in the lab at the Playground, working on some paperwork from the latest experiment when Daisy enters.
Walking across the room, she grabs the tablet from Jemma’s hand then moves so she can’t grab it back.
“Hey! I was using that, Daisy!”
Daisy shakes her head.
“Nope, you’re done working. We’re going out.”
Raising an eyebrow at her girlfriend, Jemma waits for her to say more.
“And where are we going exactly?” asks Jemma.
“Out. It’s a surprise,” answers Daisy.
“I’m sorry then but I really need to finish this paperwork so Fitz and I can begin the next phase of the experiment,” comments Jemma.
“I’ve already cleared it with the boss. Save what you need to then we need to get bundled up,” states Daisy.
Looking at Daisy, Jemma lets out a sigh.
She knows Daisy won’t give in until she gets her way.
“Fine. Now hand over the tablet.”
Daisy passes it over but stands next to her to make sure she doesn’t do more than save her work.
Once Jemma finishes, Daisy grabs the tablet then places on the counter.
“Come on, let’s go get ready. I’ve got everything pulled out,” Daisy states.
Jemma follows her girlfriend as curiosity takes over.
Inside their bedroom, their bed is covered in appropriate winterwear for December; warm-looking coats, matching gloves and scarves and hats.
“When you say we’re going out, you mean…..” Jemma trails off.
“We’re going outside-outside,” states Daisy.
“What do you have planned?” asked Jemma.
Daisy only smiles at her as she starts to get ready for their outing.
When they’re finally ready, Daisy pulls out one more thing.
“I’m gonna blind fold you so you can’t figure out where we’re going until we’re there. If that’s cool with you.”
Jemma considers the idea then nods her head.
“If I walk into anyone or anything then you’re going to get it.”
Daisy kisses her cheek as she moves to stand behind her and place the blindfold across her eyes then tying it in the back.
“Okay, I’m going to grab your hand so I can lead you to the car.”
Just as she finishes the statement, she grabs Jemma’s hand and gives it a squeeze.
Jemma returns the squeeze as she does trust Daisy.
They head out of their room and make their way through the underground base until they end up in the garage.
Daisy helps Jemma climb into the car then gets into the driver’s seat.
It doesn’t take them long to get to the destination and Daisy can’t help but feel her excitement and nervousness build.
“Can I take off the blindfold yet?” Jemma asks.
“Not just yet,” answers Daisy.
She parks the car then helps her girlfriend out of the vehicle before guiding her to the right spot.
“Alright, on the count of three, you can take it off.”
There’s a slight pause then the countdown begins.
“Three….two….one….”
Jemma removes the blindfold and it falls to the ground as she takes in the sights around her.
Trees covered in snow and lights, ice sculptures of different animals and so much more that it was almost impossible to process it all.
It is a complete winter wonderland park.
Eventually, she turns to look at Daisy.
Daisy’s wringing her hands in front of her as she shifts from side to side, waiting for Jemma to say something.
“This is incredible, Daisy.” Compliments Jemma.
At her words, Daisy relaxes then grins at her.
“You’ve been talking about not having made any good winter memories in a few years so I wanted to this for you,” she explains.
Without warning, Jemma pulls Daisy to her then kisses her.
“Thank you, Dais. I’m touched you would do this for me.”
“It’s worth it because I love you.”
Daisy takes Jemma’s hand in her own then starts walking down the path so Jemma could see everything.
The shining lights had nothing on Jemma’s smile, Daisy is sure of that.
There is just one flaw about this set up.
It’s not snowing.
“I can’t make it snow like a certain mutant we know of but I can do my own version.” (Of course, Daisy would love to meet Ororo Monroe one day because she’s admired the woman for years.)
Letting go of Jemma’s hand before she can reply, Daisy takes a couple steps away from her.
Daisy tosses a snowball up in the air then quakes it, causing it to break up into tiny snowflakes that fall down onto Jemma as she looks up in awe with a bright smile on her face.
Three more snowballs are tossed and quaked.
Jemma watches the snow fall until it all lands on the ground before turning her attention to Daisy.
Pulling her girlfriend close, she brushes some of Daisy’s hair out of her face.
“I am so in awe of you and your love for me. I don’t know what I did to deserve it but I will do everything in my power to be worthy of it.”
Daisy leans her forehead against Jemma’s as she tears up the compliment.
“You already are, just by being yourself and loving me.”
At that moment, it occurs to Daisy that she couldn’t ask for a better opportunity than the one she was presented.
It’s definitely better than the one she planned.
She pulls away from Jemma causing her to look at her in confusion as Daisy sticks her hand in her pocket before going down onto one knee.
Jemma’s eyes widen as she processes what happens then the moment she really realizes this is happening, her hands cover her mouth.
“You’ve been my best friend from the moment I was brought onto the Bus and you’ve been by my side through everything, good and bad. There is nothing I want more than to spend the rest of my life with you. Jemma Anne Simmons, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”
Opening the box, there is a three-diamond twist engagement ring sitting there.
Jemma doesn’t hesitate.
“YES!”
She knocks Daisy over in her rush to kiss her.
Daisy landed on her back and causing the snow to rise a little bit around them before settling back down and Jemma on top of her.
They kiss for some time before parting.
Daisy sits up then grabs the box from where it landed when Jemma knocked it out of her hand.
The ring sparkles brightly and Jemma stares at it.
“This is beautiful, Daisy,” compliments Jemma.
“Glad to hear that. I was worried you wouldn’t like it but the moment I saw it, I knew it was the one. Just like I knew you’re the one for me,” replies Daisy.
Jemma kisses her cheek.
“You’re a sap but you’re my sap. Also, you know we’re going to need to get you a ring too because you deserve one.”
This time, it’s Daisy’s turn to kiss her partner.
“We’ll look into it when we get back to the base. For now, let’s go walking in a winter wonderland,” Daisy states.
“Sounds wonderful to me.”
Jemma stands up then holds out her hand for Daisy to take which she does.
As they walk underneath the twinkling lights, Jemma raises her right hand and watches the light reflect off of her ring.
“Did anyone know you were going to do this?” Jemma asks.
“Mack and Elena knew I wanted to do something romantic for you so they helped with hanging the lights and sculptures. May’s the only one who knew I was going to propose because she went ring shopping with me,” answers Daisy.
Jemma smiles at Daisy.
“Do you think we can convince Coulson to find someway to make it possible for Bobbi and Hunter to be there when we wed?”
Smirking at Jemma, she grabs her hand and kisses the ring.
“I’m sure we can do something to make that happen. It wouldn’t be right to get married without most of the family there.”
Daisy wraps Jemma with arms then they both lean into the embrace, knowing with sadness, that Trip wouldn’t be there to see it happen.
“You know he’ll be there in spirit and your parents too.”
Jemma wipes away the tear that fell down Daisy’s cheek.
“As long as we’re together, I’ll be happy. I love you, Jemma.”
“I love you too, Daisy.”
Then they continue walking in their own personal winter wonderland.

dear skimmons secret santa
I guess I haven’t been too great this year with creating skimmons content but it’s still an important ship in my heart and that counts right?
so, likes: fluff, lots of aus but sci fi aus in particular, a little bit of angst is fine, happy endings, and hero!daisy with scientist!jemma
dislikes: ward, hydra aus, fitz as anything but platonic with jemma, kid fic, explicit smut, and dystopian aus
thanks~

1 day to go!
It’s almost time to exchange your brilliant gifts!
We have two different sets of instructions, depending on whether you would like to remain anonymous or not…
Remain anonymous (you can reveal yourself later if you like):
1) Submit your gifts and any messages for your secret santa, clearly stating that you wish to remain anonymous. 2) We will then make a post with your content on your behalf. It will be added to the queue and posted on xmas eve. Not-so secret santa: 1) Submit your gifts and any messages through our blog the normal way, clearly stating that you want to be credited. 2) We will add it to the xmas eve queue. Or if you want the gift to come straight from your blog (we know some people are wary of their work being miscredited!)
1) Tell us you’ll be doing this so we don’t panic and think your secret santa has been forgotten! 2) Post it on xmas eve with any messages and tag it with #skimmonssecretsanta. 3) We’ll find it and reblog it so it gets added to the gift page on our blog. Easy peasy! :) VERY IMPORTANT: If you want to back out from making a gift for whatever reason (this time of year is hectic, we understand!) please let us know NOW, so we have time to sort your secret santa out with a replacement gift. Don’t worry, nobody will know so don’t feel bad :)

Dear Skimmons Secret Santa!
Ive been an alright shipper this year, wrote some skimmons, worked on some prompts (still working on like fifteen more pls don't hold that against me), but once I catch up on AOS i promise to be 100% better (if that counts for anything).
I like: pining, friends to lovers, Jemma and Daisy working together and saving the day, kisses, cupcakes and presents just because!
I dislike: romantic!f!tzs!mmons, ward in any capacity (except as the villain) and hydra.
Hope this helps! But tbh, I'll enjoy anything as long as it's skimmons full!

Dear Secret Santa,
I've been a terrible shipper this year, what with putting my main story on hiatus, but try not to hold that against me.
I like: AUs, banter, happy things, relationships on equal footing, Daisy using her powers, Jemma sciencing, kidfic, how much Jemma and Daisy just genuinely like each other as people, badasses vs. the world, the rest of the team (May, Mack, Yo-Yo especially), found family, everyone is bi!
I dislike: Fiiiitz as a romantic partner (I think he's a fun character when he's being supportive of them, but I find he expects Jemma to do a lot of the emotional labor and that's frustrating), Waaaaard at all, Lincoln, heavy angst, non-con and dubcon, Daisy being Skye after she's found out her real name, and character bashing of anybody that's not Waaaard.
Definitely don’t need anything to be holiday themed, but if the spirit moves you, have at it!

Hello! It's your Skimmons Secret Santa (a little late, I know). Hope you're having a good December, especially with the return of AoS! Do you have a particular song you associate with Skimmons? I can't guarantee that I'll be able to work it in, but I'll sure try! Also, I know you wrote your letter already, but if you have anything specific you REALLY want to see, just let me know!
Heyyyy! Nice to hear from you :) Ooooh songs I associate? Good question! I love “A Thousand Years” for them, also “You and Me” by lifehouse. Also a big fan of “There She Goes”. On a darker note Avril Lavign’s “I’m with you” has populated some interesting skimmons thoughts in my brain.
But probably the most Skimmons song for me is “Fight Song” not so much because it describes their relationship but because it feels very much their asthetic and I love thinking about them yelling the lyrics and jumping around together and affording some healing in each other and the song after pretty much every trauma they’ve faced thus far.
Hmm I just really like seeing them helping each other through bad shit? Like anything. All of Daisy’s s2 stuff, Maveth, the LMD attack, whatever is going on with Jem now. Some comfort and healing for my girls is what I love. Whatever you come up with, if it’s skimmons, I’m sure I will love it!

Dear Secret Santa,
I have been a good shipper this year and met so many good people who love this ship as much as I do <3
Likes:
Daisy being loved and appreciated
Mutual pining & getting together
Mushy romantic poetic quotes
Daisy and Jemma being completely drift compatible and in tune with each other
Epic declarations of love
Soft subtle moments that convey more than words ever could
Literally any non-white character (”what about--?” yes, even them)
Dislikes:
W*rd & HYRDA
F*tz beyond s2 (pre-s3 is fine-ish)
Ph*linda & excessive C*ulson (he’s fine but I don’t really care for him)
Smut/nsfw
Most AUs unless it’s a canon divergence AU
Heavy-handed angst (i.e., making the characters suffer for the sake of suffering)
I’m sure whatever you make will be great and I’ll love it to bits!
Thank you!
