Well, that was poorly drawn. Now lets try some more detail on the copy task:

Except for the hands, not so bad for the first draft, right?

Now lets go for the upside down:

There is a freaking coffee mug?! I did not see it on the first attempt. The hands are awefull, but the jeans & bottom of the chair is alright i guess :) I “saw” the lines of the authors, how they cross instead of the focus on the shape. Forget the shape-thinking though...

"Sketch what you see"

was our task today.

We should learn that when making a sketch by what we see, here: lines and shapes, can end up better than we think. 

We had to draw three times:

Draw someone just by your memories. (left image)

Copy the drawing "Sean's afternoon" from our workbook "Sketching user experiences" (image in the middle)

Copy the same drawing, but this time, turn the original drawing upside-down and only concentrate on the lines and shapes instead of seeing the object as a person. (right image)

I am surprised that a recognizable picture actually came out ;)
