Reading Challenge Destiel Edition 2023

Here's the thing: a few days ago I was talking to a friend. She happily told me that she will do the reading challenge this year. For a moment I felt left out.

I read a lot, I read in a language that is not my language, and I read things that I like and that I could talk about for hours. I like to share what I read with friends. So... why can't I do the reading challenge?

Simple.

Because the Reading Challenge is for books.

But who said that?!?!?!

So I had an idea... we can do a ff reading challenge, obviously Destiel related!

My proposal is this: from January to December 2023, read something that falls into these categories, talk about it with friends, and talk about it in tumblr, twitter (while it lasts), Hive... wherever you want.

And tag your readings, so we can find each other and exchange recommendations (#RCDestiel23)

We have the largest archive for a specific ship… we can have a lot of fun!

And (I like to think) also discover something that we would never have read otherwise.

A little ficlet for @sketchbookdean on his birthday, with a very loose interpretation of the prompt “hands” ♡

Dean picked up on it a while ago, how Cas only healed him through touch. Or maybe more importantly, how he didn’t with anyone else.

Dean thought to ask Cas about it the first time it happened—after he’d come to the initial realization—but the werewolf they’d been hunting had thrown him around a little too much, and he was so lightheaded and dizzy that when Cas rushed over and placed a comforting hand on his arm, he forgot to mention it.

The time after that was just a paper cut—truly the smallest injury he’s ever sustained—but Cas insisted on healing it and didn’t wait for Dean to respond as he gently grasped his ring finger. Sam had been sitting across the library from them, head buried in a book, but Dean thought it best to keep his mouth shut. He didn’t want to embarrass Cas.

The third time—Dean can’t even remember how he’d been injured—but he remembers everything after. He remembers how Cas grabbed his face in his hands and asked him if he was alright. He remembers saying something about his head hurting, or maybe it was his back or his chest. Doesn’t matter. It had probably been a little bit of everything. He remembers looking into Cas’s eyes, and seeing a look of concern mixed with something else—something yet unspoken—that made Dean’s heart skip a beat. He remembers Cas continuing to cradle his face as Grace began to spread through his body. He remembers leaning into Cas’s touch, feeling the pressure of his palms and fingertips, rough yet warm against his cheeks. He remembers his heart beating so rapidly, he thought it might burst from his chest. And he remembers how after he’d been healed—when he felt Cas’s hands slowly slip away—he remembers being left with a feeling of profound emptiness, and a sudden, overwhelming urge to walk into oncoming traffic, just so Cas could heal him again.

Dean decided it wasn’t worth mentioning after that.

so I'm not really sure how to make this post because I don't want to make it a big deal. but I've been exploring my gender for the past couple years. and I've always known I hated my name which is why I've gone by a nickname on here for forever. but I've been testing out a new name for a couple months with someone I trust, and I think I'm finally brave enough to do something about it.

so from now on I'm gonna be going by Parker, and I would appreciate it if y'all would be kind enough to use that for me. gender is still a huge question mark for me, but I think this will help me be able to explore that better, and honestly just make me feel more comfortable.

It’s been 2 years since I stumbled back onto this hellsite (affectionate) and I have reached another follower milestone! Can’t believe it’s 2023 and people are still choosing to follow me and my antics, but I’m so appreciative to all my followers for continuing with me on this journey.

So to celebrate both these accomplishments, I am hosting a two part event:

For Creators

This is for all creators of any of the following fandoms: Supernatural, Schitt’s Creek, Our Flag Means Death, Stranger Things, and Bridgerton. I’ve put together prompts based on things that have become staples of my blog these past two years. I’ve also added quotes and color palettes to each as well for some further inspiration. Feel free to interpret them anyway you wish, and use as many (or as few) in your creations as you want.
