I'm with Booster, if people are being murdered by tyrants stop the tyrant. Worry about what happens later once people are out of immediate danger of being harmed by the tyrant.

Also, Superman, if the people must determine their own course why do you fight crime? Why do you prevent people from looting? Why do you offer aid or give advice to the president?
