i'm screaming y'all
So recently, I've been celebrating over the fact that I managed to get my bro to read the RA series.
He's obsessed with it now, obviously, and I take every opportunity I can to remind him and shove it back in his face that he once called the series Boring (I know right? How could he!).
Anyways, I was eating in the kitchen when I brother came in and said to me, "I like Handel."
Now, he is currently up to reading Icebound Land.
So, I looked at him funny and asked why, he responded with,
"Well, because he gave Will the rags and the warm-thingy"
😶
Bro didn't understand what occurred 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

As promised, this is how Will sees a whale: a big blue fish the size of a castle with a hole in his head. (A tiny Will is added for size comparison)

Svengal, who thinks Halt is married to the ranger commandant he talks about a lot: Oh, the plot thickens.

My toxic trait is I just can't picture any of the Herons as blonde despite all canon evidence to the contrary. Not a single blonde to be found in that group of Skandians

I've always been a 'comparatively young for his cohort Hal' truther and I've finally found it I'm rereading The Outcasts and Hal is not actually even sixteen when brotherband training starts

Skandians having very complicated hairstyle traditions for weddings, incorporating crew braids, job braids, family braids back several generations, your partner's family braids, etc., etc....
Hal and Stig doing Ingvar's.
Ulf and Wulf doing Lydia's.

it’s so funny to me that the only intimidating villain in this whole goddamn series is morgarath lol
there are like 15 books now, there’s a new villain almost every book— if not ever 2-3 books. but the only one that got good ground on the intimidation factor was Morgarath. why is he the only fucking scary villain in the series make it make sense 😭😭😭

I wonder how many Skandians of the past are just left to wander forever because no one was there to make sure they had their weapon

"He stooped in the saddle to talk down to the Skandians and the hunched shoulders and his black cloak gave him the look of a vulture."
I really like when Flanagan compares his characters to different animals :] Wanted to draw this one for some time now.

The amount of joy I got from the mere promise of Skandians is ridiculous

Going off of @mostlyonthefloor's tag on this post, I'm digging the idea that Gilan just goes around to different countries telling them that he's ten years younger or older than he actually is depending on his mood

Ok now you have to say more on Svengal's drag persona Winfredia. You can't just leave that in the tags
I mean ... what is there to say, really? I think it explains itself.

Stig: wait, you've been using me to distract from you stealing shit this entire time?
Jesper, cheerfully: in my defence you're extremely pretty
